A Spoonful of Sugar: Don’t Beg for Love Chapter 561

"…My brother really believed you."

Under the moonlight, Nathaniel seemed sad. Hesper ignored his expression. From here on out, they would be strangers.

"Don't you want anything else? Rickard's antidote, perhaps."

Hesper looked up. He knew what she wanted the most. Even though she was tempted, she remained level-headed. "You aren't that nice."

"It's fine if you don't believe me." Nathaniel turned around. Getting the hint, Carter nodded and put Renfrew down on the ground. He moved back to create some distance, showing that he wasn't going to do anything.

Even though 013 looked unhappy about it, since Nathaniel's identity was exposed and they no longer had the Tuckers' protection, they wouldn't be safe in Halwanest anymore.

The four of them, including Juniper, left the riverbank quickly. Watching them leave, Hespser sighed with relief.

Even though she had brought some men with her, to avoid spooking them, she asked them to wait for her in the woods. However, she was so shocked seeing Nathaniel, she forgot to call for them.

If Nathaniel had decided to attack, she wouldn't have been able to win.

"I was lucky…" Taking Renfrew in her arms, Hesper felt that had she recovered what she lost. At least Renfrew wasn't hurt. Recalling Nathaniel's icy cold expression under the moonlight, Hesper fully believed that if she had gotten there a little later, she would have been too late.

She had suffered similarly before, so if she had seen Renfrew thrown into the river, she would have lost her mind.

Even though they were safe, Nathaniel's identity was exposed, and that worried Hesper. He knew them too well, which was why they never noticed his unusual behavior.

As Hesper picked Renfrew up and stood up, a bottle slipped out from his arms.

Hesper frowned and picked the bottle up, then remembered Nathaniel mentioning an 'antidote'… Even though she didn't believe that he would be so generous, she would still bring it back for Professor Miles to run tests on.

Rickard didn't have a lot of time left.

On the way back, Hesper called Matthew. While she and Nathaniel had been close, having known each other for years, to Matthew, the betrayal was from a friend he had grown up with.

Nathaniel was not just a friend. They had gone through similar experiences since they were children and were like brothers.

Renee sat silently. In her heart, Nathaniel had been the best suitor for Hesper, someone who cared for her and protected her. Just like Hesper, Renee never thought that he would be the person who was trying to hurt Hesper all along.

After Matthew heard what Hesper had to say, he paused then acknowledged it.

"But why would he do it?" Hesper balled up her fists then released them. "You grew up together. That's twenty years of friendship. What made him decide to take this path?"

"I don't know… I'll wait till Grandpa gets better and ask him about this."

A Spoonful of Sugar: Don’t Beg for Love Chapter 562

After hanging up, Hesper leaned back tiredly with Renfrew in her arms. Renee held her hand, but Hesper suddenly moved back. When she realized that it was just Renee, she relaxed.

"What's going on?"

Renee shook her head, then tapped on her hand again. When she looked down, she realized that she was holding onto Renfrew's shirt so tightly that her knuckles turned white.

"What's going on with you?" Renee changed her expression. "Young master is not in danger anymore. He's fine now. You don't have to hold onto him."

Hesper was silent. The scene of Nathaniel holding Renfrew by the river gave flashbacks of five years ago when Juniper and Sophia threw the doll off the second floor.

Rubbing the bridge of her nose, Hesper sighed and let go.

So much happened that night. Hesper first brought Renfrew to the hospital. Even though she didn't know how his condition was, Renfrew didn't have any external injuries and didn't seem to be hurt in any way.

That made Hesper feel relieved, but to be safe, she still got the hospital to run a full test. She would only be relaxed once they confirmed that he was not hurt.

"Keep an eye on Renfrew. I'll be back before the results are out."

Hesper felt the bottle in her pocket. She had to send it to the doctor. If it was the antidote that could save Rickard, she would have one less issue to worry about.

In troubled times, she no longer wanted to worry.

"Alright," Renee agreed, then carefully looked toward Hesper. She hesitated, then whispered, "If you're tired, I could send someone. You haven't rested all night."

It had been a series of events. Even though Renee cared about her, she still shook her head.

She didn't have time to rest or stop.

Professor Miles was already asleep, so when he got a call from Hesper, he woke up with sleepy eyes and checked the time. It was three in the morning and he wanted to kill her.

However, when he heard what Hesper said, he became wide awake.

"What? There's an antidote?"

Hesper was downstairs, so Professor Miles ran down in his robe and slippers. Hesper was apologetic. "I'm sorry for coming at this hour… Here's the antidote, although I'm not sure if the contents are genuine. I need you to check it."

"It's fine, I'll head to the lab now."

Professor Miles looked up at Hesper's tired face. "Did something happen? You don't seem to be fine. Do you have a history of mental illness?"

Hesper blinked a few times, then chuckled and shook her head.

"No… but I'm not in my best condition. So much happened tonight. I'll tell you about it when we have more time." Hesper hesitated, then spoke again. "You've been with Daybreak for a long time, so I'm sure you know Big T, right?"

The doctor looked at her hesitantly. Hesper could tell that he knew who Big T was, so she didn't beat around the bush and said, "Is Nathaniel Big T?"

A Spoonful of Sugar: Don’t Beg for Love Chapter 563

"You've found out?"

Even though Professor Miles didn't want to get involved, he was part of Daybreak so he would know some insider information. Knowing about Hesper and Nathaniel's relationship, he sighed. "Nathaniel seemed like someone who didn't care much about the world, but after spending time with him, I feel that he's unpredictable."

Hesper lowered her eyes.

He continued. "It isn't surprising if you were tricked. He's really manipulative. Seth lost his mind because of him."

"What?" Even though Hesper already knew that 013 was Seth and Nathaniel was Big T of Daybreak, she didn't think that would be possible.

Seth mentioned Nathaniel to her before. He sounded like he relied on him and she could tell that he saw him as a brother. How could Nathaniel have the heart to treat him badly?

The doctor pursed his lips. "That man was the biggest lunatic. If you provoked him, it would be tough to get away."

Time was of the essence. The doctor didn't continue chatting with Hesper and instead went upstairs to change, then went into the lab. He left Hesper standing there in the wind as chills ran down her spine.

Hesper suddenly remembered so many details in the past.

When she first returned to Rickard, she wasn't sure how to see her relationship with Rickard and called Nathaniel about it. Even though Nathaniel didn't seem to guide her, now in hindsight, she realized that he was fueling her hatred for Rickard.

When something happened to Julian, Nathaniel was the one who took him away, but he hinted that someone touched her phone and deleted the message sent to ask for help. That had made her suspect Rickard.

There were multiple instances like that. Nathaniel used her trust in him and manipulated her, which directly affected Hesper's judgment toward everything.

She never knew. Hesper laughed at herself, no longer thinking she was lucky. She accepted the fact that she had been fooled by Nathaniel for years.

Light started lighting up the sky.

It was a new day.

Renee waited in the corridor for more than an hour when Hesper came back.

A lot of the tests took time before they could get the results. Even though Hesper didn't sleep the entire night, she wasn't sleepy at all. Renee looked at her worriedly but decided not to say anything.

She knew Hesper wouldn't listen.

Morning came when the doctor walked out looking grim. "Renfrew Duval is in bad condition. His hematopoietic stem cells and blood coagulation functions are both abnormal… It's possible that he has leukemia."

When Hesper heard 'leukemia', she fell to the ground. "No way. Renfrew had a healthy diet and lived a healthy life. He has always been healthy."

"I'm sorry, this is just an early speculation. We need the other reports to find out what the exact situation is." The doctor knew this person he was speaking to was someone of status because there would be no way they could get so many people to work overtime. Thus, he had to be careful with his words.

Renee was expecting more to happen. Everyone knew how much Hesper loved Renfrew.

A Spoonful of Sugar: Don’t Beg for Love Chapter 564

If Renfrew really had leukemia…

"Ma'am… Ma'am?"

Hesper fainted and slid to the floor next to Renee, who immediately tried to grab her and called Matthew. Even though Emperion and the Tucker household were a mess, Matthew had to get over there to handle the situation.

Meanwhile, Professor Miles ran some tests and confirmed that what Hesper gave him was an antidote. He immediately called her but no one picked up.

"Where did the girl go…"

Even though there was no news from Hesper, they had the antidote, so the doctor rushed back to give it to Rickard.

Things would finally be okay.

Professor Miles took a deep breath and looked at Rickard, then sighed. "I don't know what I've done to deserve this. I was supposed to leave after healing her legs, but now I have more issues."

After a few hours, Matthew, who received Renee's call, finally got to Genecity and found Hesper and Renfrew through location tracking.

Hesper had fainted because she was just too anxious and tired. When Matthew got there, she was awake and sitting in bed, but her eyes were empty.

Renee stood next to her. When she saw Matthew, she looked as if she had seen her savior.

"Mr. Lane!"

Matthew nodded, then walked to the bed and held Hesper's hand. He didn't say anything as he hugged her. "Everything will be fine. Don't worry."

"…Renfrew's test results are out and it's confirmed that he has leukemia." Hesper couldn't shed a tear, but she rested her chin on Matthew's shoulder. "I don't get it. Why is all the bad luck in the world falling on me?"

"Hesper…"

"Why? They wouldn't let me go and even drag my child along."

Hesper's voice sounded so calm that it was chilling. Matthew patted her back and made eye contact with Renee. She nodded, then left the room to give them privacy.

After a long time, Matthew walked out of the room. Renee looked over and saw Matthew shaking his head.

"She's asleep."

Renee breathed a sigh of relief. Their troubles kept piling up. The issue with Nathaniel had a huge impact on Hesper. Now Renfrew was sick with leukemia…

"Where's the doctor? Did he propose a treatment program?"

"He's waiting in his office." Renee nodded, then led Matthew over and said, "The doctor said there is a treatment for this, but it's a bone marrow transplant… Ms. Rivera isn't qualified and Mr. Duval is in a coma. Even if he woke up, his condition wouldn't allow it."

Matthew frowned as they walked into the office. The doctor was waiting for them with some information.

A Spoonful of Sugar: Don’t Beg for Love Chapter 565

The doctor told him the same thing that Renee did. The best way to get through this was a transplant surgery before his condition worsened. If they took a safer approach and his condition worsened to the point when the transplant was the only option, he might not be able to handle it.

However, the question was, who could donate some of their bone marrow to Renfrew?

There was no matching marrow in storage. Hesper and Rickard, who had a higher chance of being matched, weren't able to provide it.

"Julie and Sophia." Matthew looked at Renee, who nodded. "I'll grab them."

When Hesper woke up again, Matthew and Renee were by her side. She didn't immediately open her eyes but instead listened to their conversation.

"Julie and Sophia aren't matches either, and Ms. Rivera has no relatives… What's left is to find a stranger who is a match." Renee sighed. "I don't know how we should tell her."

"There's no need to lie to me." Hesper stopped pretending to be asleep. She opened her eyes. "I'm not that naive, am I?"

"Hesper…" Matthew walked over and helped her sit up. "Renfrew's condition is stable. The doctor said that he could recover. I'll do my best to find a match for Renfrew with Lane Holdings' resources. I won't give up."

Hesper broke down a few times since finding out about Renfrew's condition, but she knew she couldn't give up. Before Renfrew found a marrow donor, she wouldn't let herself be a burden.

"By the way, Professor Miles called me to say that Rickard is awake. The antidote was real."

Hesper nodded. This was the only good news in the past two days.

"I've told Rickard about Renfrew's condition. The Duvals are also trying to find a match too, so I'm sure we'll have an update soon." Matthew consoled her. "Renfrew is a lucky kid. I'm sure he'll be fine."

Even though those were just words of consolation, Hesper nodded.

She hoped they could find a suitable marrow soon; that was her only wish.

She listened to reports from Renee while she ate. That was when she found out that during the two days when she was unconscious, a lot happened in Genecity and Emperion.

The first was the disappearance of the Tucker family. After that night, the entire family disappeared, and no one could get in touch with them. All their assets changed hands overnight as if the family never existed in the city.

Next was the Wilsons. Carter and Juniper disappeared. The head of the Wilson family was so enraged that he made his illegitimate son his official heir. However, Hesper guessed Carter didn't care about his family. All he did before was follow Nathaniel's lead and do as he was told.

When Juniper was brought up, Hepser picked up her phone. Ariana had sent her a lot of messages asking for the whereabouts of her daughter.

Hesper had only focused on saving Renfrew and neglected Juniper, who was also in Carter's hands. They had taken Juniper with them. They were very blatant back then so they might no longer be in Halwanest.

When Renfrew woke up, he told Hesper everything. Juniper was the one who kidnapped him but ended up putting herself in danger. They both fell into Daybreak's hands, and she faced karma.

A Spoonful of Sugar: Don’t Beg for Love Chapter 566

Hesper told Ariana Wight everything. "Even though I made a promise, in such a situation, I couldn't help Juniper. Furthermore, she brought it on herself."

Juniper was brought overseas, and no one knew if she was alive. Hesper didn't have time to waste on her. Ariana's face was covered in tears, but she knew she couldn't blame Hesper.

It was all Juniper's own fault.

After Hesper spoke to Ariana, Matthew walked in and said, "Emperion and Genecity are very chaotic right now. Grandpa is worried that Rachael won't be able to deal with what's going on in Genecity and might be in danger herself, so he asked her to return home."

Hesper nodded. There was no reason for Matthew to tell her that, so she knew something else was coming.

Matthew hesitated, then continued. "No one is managing the branch in Genecity. I know that this is unfair to you… but would you be willing to come back and work there?"

Before Hesper said anything, Renee scoffed and cut him off.

"Mr. Lane, you've always been nice to Ms. Rivera, so you should know how much that would hurt her." Renee took a deep breath. "Ms. Rachael Lane is part of the Lane family and is important, so he asked her to return to safety. Ms. Rivera doesn't have the noble Lane blood in her veins, so she's supposed to step up and manage the company? Why? She's so upset right now, why should she go back and work for you?"

Renee was agitated. Hesper tugged at her sleeve, but Matthew knew everything she said was true.

When Grandpa had found out that Hesper wasn't Rachael, he immediately removed her from Lane Holdings even though she built the branch up through her own effort.

Genecity was in chaos now, yet they wanted her to go back…

"Alright, I'll go." Hesper didn't say more. Watching the branch she built get ruined in someone else's hands hurt her. The staff there were her staff, so she couldn't just sit around and watch.

She needed the identity of Ms. Lane now too.

Matthew lowered his head in guilt, but Hesper smiled. "The Lane family gave me a lot. If I hadn't met you, and if not for the resources of the family, I would just be the useless wife of Mr. Duval to everyone. I should repay you."

Hesper was so understanding and so different from Rachael. Matthew felt even more guilty. "I'll try to find a marrow match for Renfrew. He'll be alright."

"Alright." Hesper nodded then closed her eyes.

Renfrew was very understanding. He didn't cry or make a scene when he learned about his condition. All he did was look at Hesper with gentle eyes then reached out to touch her head and said, "Mommy, don't cry."

After Rickard woke up, he had to face the big problem that was the Duval Group.

Hesper signed the agreements to return the shares to him, so it just needed his signature. The agreements were with Benji, so after he woke up, Benji handed them to him.

Looking at the pile of documents, Rickard rubbed his temples. "Did something happen to Hesper?"

A Spoonful of Sugar: Don’t Beg for Love Chapter 567

Benji was stunned. Before he had even said anything, Rickard noticed that something happened to Hesper… However, it wasn't Hesper who was in trouble this time.

"It's the young master… Young master has been diagnosed with leukemia."

Rickard frowned. The first thought in his mind was that it was impossible, but Benji had no reason to lie.

"Both you and Ms. Rivera are unqualified to provide marrow even if you were matched. We, along with the Lanes, are looking for a match for the bone marrow transplant."

Hearing bad news immediately after he woke up, Rickard realized that a lot had happened while he was unconscious. Benji told him everything while he read the documents.

"The leader of Daybreak is Nathaniel?"

Rickard paused. From the information, Hesper and Nathaniel seemed to have a good relationship. If Nathaniel had been manipulating her, she wouldn't be alright learning about it.

There was betrayal, and there was Renfrew's condition. It was a huge mess.

However, he didn't expect Benji to say. "Ms. Rivera is currently working at Lane Holdings. The acceptance rate there is very high, so I'm guessing they're going to make a big move soon."

That was something unexpected, but he wasn't surprised. Hesper was a flower that always strived to climb higher. If troubles could discourage her, she wouldn't be where she was now.

The only problem they couldn't solve was Renfrew's condition.

Rickard didn't know what to do. Leukemia wasn't a mild sickness. Even if they found a bone marrow donor who matched his, the surgeries weren't a hundred percent successful.

However, the transplant was their best plan now, so they had to try.

Rickard looked down, and after a long pause, he sent a message to Professor Miles. He had to ask him about Renfrew's surgery. He might have a solution…

Hesper felt complicated as she returned to Lane Holdings and stood in front of the familiar building.

"Everyone hoped that you'd return." Isaac stood behind Hesper. "Since you left, Lane Holdings no longer did as well… Rachael Lane wasn't very good at running the business and Mr. Lane didn't have time. The employees weren't let go because I insisted."

Rachael went back to Emperion, so Isaac had to stay in Genecity. Hence, he was back at Hesper's side.

"Let go?"

Hesper never expected that. Even if Lane Holdings only worked toward what she planned, they couldn't have fallen so far.

"It was all Rachael Lane's fault… She kept ordering people around but couldn't even speak when she met the clients. A lot of companies that used to work with us stopped renewing their contracts this season.

Hesper became troubled hearing that.

If that was true, everything she had left them with had been wasted. Now that she was back, she was at the same point as when she first came to Genecity…

The broke and poor Lane Holdings branch.

A Spoonful Of Sugar: Don’t Beg For Love Chapter 568

Hesper started to regret agreeing to work there, but there was no time for regrets. Furthermore, what was more important was that Hesper knew everyone who used to work alongside her needed their jobs.

Rachael could toy with the company and leave it because, to the Lanes, it was a loss that they could recover from. However, to the employees, they might lose the job they needed to feed their families.

"Get all the reports for this season and send them to me in half a day." Hesper turned and got into the private elevator. "Tell all the departments that we'll have a meeting in half an hour."

"Yes, ma'am." Isaac was excited, he replied loudly, like a school kid answering a question he knew the answer to. Hesper shook her head, then closed her eyes to rest.

The report was soon sent to her. She knew that this was made ready beforehand. Based on her old habits, Isaac had known she was going to ask for it.

"You know I'm not very good at this. I had to ask the secretary a few times before getting this." Isaac scratched his head timidly but Hesper knew how difficult it was to him.

Isaac was just someone sent to protect her, but he had to start taking other roles because they were low on manpower. He went from being unfamiliar at first to being a professional now, and that was all because of his hard work.

"Alright, did you arrange for the meeting?"

Isaac nodded. "Everyone said they're happy to see you back!"

Hesper's mouth curved into a smile. She already knew that because their group chat originally named 'tear down the capitalist' had changed to 'Welcome back, Ms. Lane'.

Hesper wouldn't usually waste time on unimportant things, but the trust and sincerity of the employees cemented her decision to return.

It was a busy morning. Hesper hadn't worked in such a high-paced environment in a long time, but it felt fulfilling. It distracted her from her other problems.

Isaac was right. Rachael squandered the foundation. Hesper never thought that she would do this to the company.

Hesper was amicable with Rachael at first because she did save her in Salt City. If it weren't for that, she would have died at the hands of 013.

However, Rachel wasn't a reliable person. Maybe it was jealousy. She was resentful that Hesper took her place and the love she should have received as a Lane.

There was no point in bringing up the past. Hesper collected the information she needed to meet the next clients. From Isaac's description, it wasn't that the clients wanted to cancel their agreement because they didn't want to work with Lane Holdings but that they didn't trust Rachael.

That meant she had a chance to turn things around.

However, when Hesper saw the Paradise Project that was at the bottom of the pile, she couldn't remember when she approved of it, and it didn't seem like Rachael signed it either.

The location was great, and she could tell that it was a good project that had to go through a few negotiations. Even though Hesper didn't want to look down on Rachael, from her performance… she didn't seem like someone who could close the deal.

What was more suspicious was that a great project like this was at the bottom of the pile.

She called the direct line. Isaac walked in.

A Spoonful of Sugar: Don’t Beg for Love Chapter 569

"Do you know anything about this project?"

Hesper went straightforward. Isaac hesitated when he saw the name of the project, then chuckled.

"This doesn't seem to be something Rachael closed… Do you remember the bunch of agreements signed with Mr. Duval? This is one of them. Rachael secretly started it while ignoring Mr. Lane Sr., who was sick."

Isaac's words stirred Hesper's memory. Rickard gave her so many agreements, she didn't even have time to start them all, so she didn't see it.

"Now that it's started, we should finish it. This is a good project; we might need it to rebuild the company."

Isaac cleared her throat when he saw Hesper being so honest, but he didn't leave.

Hesper didn't notice anything, but when she saw him, she knew there was more to what he said. Her curiosity was picked. "What?… Is there something I don't know about in this agreement?"

Isaac nodded.

"Rachael started the project without approval because she was worried that Matthew Lane would find out. Rachael didn't even let the legal team check the agreement before starting." Isaac frowned. "When they looked into it, they realized that one of the terms was that party A would have to unconditionally accept three conditions stated by party B."

Hesper fell silent.

"I have to unconditionally accept three conditions set by Rickard?" Hesper scoffed and stood up then threw the file on the table. "The person who started the project should be responsible for those. Rachael knew that the agreement was from Duval Group, a competitor, yet she didn't bother to check it?"

Isaac could tell that she was angry, so he didn't say anything. Now that Rachael was back in Emperion and under the wings of the Lane family, Hesper had to clean up the mess she made.

"I need to take some time off this weekend to return to Emperion." Hesper's eyes grew dark. "I thought Rachael would have an idea about what should or shouldn't be done, but I guess I have to make it clear to her."

Hesper wasn't a pushover. She could understand if Rachael didn't know how to run a company, and she could also understand if Rachael wanted to take credit, but when it involved the company, how could she be so careless…

What if Rickard wrote something more severe in the agreement?

"Alright, I'll arrange for it."

Isaac left and bumped into Renee. They exchanged looks, and Renee knew that Hesper was angry about something.

"Have we found a marrow match for young master?"

Renee shook her head. Finding a match wasn't an easy task, so it couldn't be rushed. Fortunately, Renfrew's condition was still good, so he could still hang in there for a while.

"I came here to tell you that Renfrew is in stable condition."

A Spoonful of Sugar: Don’t Beg for Love Chapter 570

Renfrew being in stable condition was the best news Hesper had heard.

Ever since they escaped, Hesper knew that she couldn't break down. Firstly because Nathaniel and Daybreak were waiting for her, and secondly, because of Renfrew's condition.

If she broke down, neither of the issues would be solved.

"I also heard Mr. Lane talk about Nate. He has some clues, but he's busy with work in Emperion and can't come over. You should go back to Emperion, if you can."

Hesper planned to do that, so she nodded. "I'll go back this weekend."

"Alright."

After padding the message, Renee awkwardly spoke again. "Sophia and Julie kept coming to visit young master while you weren't around, but I've sent them away."

Sophia and Julie?

Hesper frowned. "Don't let them see him."

When Renfrew stayed with them, Julie and Sophia never treated him nicely. Now that he was sick, they had come over to visit him. It looked like they were planning something.

"Rickard came over too."

That was expected, but Hesper zoned out. About a week had past since he recovered, but he never contacted her. Renfrew being sick should be something they needed to deal with together.

They didn't know when Renfrew's surgery would happen, so Hesper's heart felt empty. Even though the doctor said that Renfrew was in stable condition, Hesper still woke up from her nightmares and would check her phone to see if the doctor had sent any bad news.

Rickard was Renfrew's dad, so Renee couldn't stop him. Besides, even if she did, Rickard would still go in.

Hesper nodded. Renee knew that Hesper would be busy with work and would surely be exhausted, so she didn't say more. She left after reporting the progress of the studio.

It was soon Friday. Hesper finally cleared off her work. She would continue speaking to the companies they were going to work with next week. Hesper was relieved when they confirmed the meeting time.

She went back to Emperion that night. Compared to the usual car sent by the Lanes, this was a downgrade. She knew that no one was going to take care of her so she booked a cab.

"I'm sorry. I didn't know no one sent a car to get you."

Matthew just came back from traveling too. When he saw her coming back with her bags, he knew that the driver hadn't gone to pick her up, so he looked furious.

Hesper was still part of the family, so how could they treat her that way?

Hesper had been nice to the servants when she was there and never ordered them around. She was friendly to them too, but now that she had fallen from grace, they treated her poorly.

"That's fine, I guess everyone was busy. I'm here safe now." Hesper didn't want to waste time talking about it; she had expected that to happen. She got straight to the point. "How's Grandpa Arthur? Is it presumptuous of me to suddenly drop by and visit him?"

"Not at all. Grandpa is feeling much better now." Matthew's expression softened. "He didn't change the photos in his room. The one with you and him is still on the study desk. I'm sure he misses you."

Hearing that, Hesper nodded. "Let me go see him."
