After the Divorce: Crushed on My Lawyer Ex-wife Chapter 151

#151 “You’re Leaving to Protect Her?

Alexander shuffled into his office and eyed Kyle carefully. A sense of unease washed over him, signaling that something was amiss. The air felt heavy with unspoken tension, and Alexander couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow.

“Hey, Kyle, what’s going on?”

Alexander asked, his curiosity mingling with a hint of concern.

Kyle took a deep breath, looking like he was about to spill some heavy truth. ”

Alexander, I can’t work for you anymore.”

Alexander’s eyes narrowed, a mixture of surprise and puzzlement on his face. “What? Why? You’ve been doing great work.”

Kyle hesitated for a moment, choosing his words carefully. “There are things you don’t know about me, Alexander.”

“Explain it to me then. Is it because of Evelyn?”

Kyle shook his head.

“I’m actually breaking up with her because I don’t want to involve her.”

“Involve her in what?”

“I come from a prominent Mafia family in Italy. Evelyn started digging into my life and struggled to understand why I never told her about my past. However, if she continues to dig, it will become dangerous for her.”

Alexander had always known that Kyle’s family was involved in something illegal, but he had no idea that the situation was so serious. ”

Mafia? Are you serious?”

Kyle nodded a somber expression on his face. “Deadly serious. My family’s going through some rough patches, and I can’t stay here anymore. I have to go back.”

Alexander watched Kyle carefully. He didn’t know how to react to this revelation. “So, you’re leaving to protect her?” Alexander asked, trying to comprehend the gravity of Kyle’s decision.

Kyle nodded, a mixture of determination and regret in his eyes. ” Not only. The Mafia world is not something she should be tangled up in. It’s dangerous, Alexander. I can’t let anything happen to her because of me. Also, my family needs me.”

Understanding began to dawn on Alexander as he pieced together the puzzle. “That’s why you’re breaking up with her? To keep her safe?”

Kyle nodded again, a heavy burden evident in his posture. “I can’t risk her getting entangled in the mess my family is dealing with. It’s better for her to move on without me.”

Alexander leaned back in his chair, absorbing the complex web of emotions and decisions before him.” This is a lot to take in, Kyle. But leaving Evelyn without an explanation won’t be easy for her. She deserves to know the truth.”

A conflicted expression crossed Kyle’s face. “I know, but if I tell her, she might get more involved, unintentionally putting herself in danger. It’s better if she believes it’s a breakup for personal reasons.”

Alexander sighed, torn between the loyalty he felt towards Kyle and the responsibility he sensed towards Evelyn. “You’re asking me to lie to her.”

“I’m asking you to keep her safe,” Kyle responded, his eyes pleading for understanding. “Tell her it’s for the best, that she deserves someone who can give her a stable and secure life.”

The room was filled with an unspoken tension as Alexander grappled with the weight of the situation. The clandestine nature of Kyle’s departure cast a shadow over their professional relationship, revealing a side of his friend that Alexander could never have anticipated.

As the silence lingered, Kyle broke it, his voice carrying the weight of his decision. “I appreciate your understanding, Alexander. I never wanted her to be caught up in all of this.

Alexander leaned back in his chair. ” Are you going back to Italy?”

Kyle shook his head, a bit elusive. “I can’t say for sure where, but I need to be with my family during this time.”

Alexander couldn’t help but feel a sense of disbelief. “Kyle, I had no idea. I assumed it was an illegal business, but not a mafia. You kept this hidden so well.”

“Yeah, well, it’s not something you just casually bring up in conversation,” Kyle replied with a wry smile.

Alexander sighed. “You’re sure about this, Kyle? Leaving everything behind?”

Kyle nodded, a mix of determination and resignation in his eyes. “I have to. Duty calls.”

As the weight of the revelation settled between them, Alexander gestured for Kyle to continue. “Tell me more, Kyle. How did you get involved with your family’s affairs? Why now?”

Kyle took a deep breath, glancing out of the window as if searching for the right words. “I distanced myself from them for a while, tried to build a different life. But you can’t escape your roots, especially when things go south. My family’s facing challenges, internal conflicts, and they need everyone they can get.”

“I get it,” Alexander said finally, a somber understanding in his tone. “But it’s a tough situation for everyone involved.”

Kyle nodded, appreciating Alexander’s empathy. “I know it’s a lot to take in, but I can’t do anything else for now.”

Alexander stood up and extended his hand to Kyle.

“I wish you luck. If you need anything, I’m here. I’d be happy to work together again one day,” Alexander said, sincerity in his voice.

When Alexander arrived home in the evening, the warm amber glow of the setting sun spilled into his plush living room. Pouring himself a glass of aged whiskey, he couldn’t help but feel the weight of the decision that awaited him. Tonight, Evelyn and Sophia were hanging out together.

Contemplating whether to pass along Kyle’s message to Evelyn, Alexander sank into his leather chair, the rich scent of the whiskey filling the air. The dilemma gnawed at him – If he tells her he’s seen Kyle and he wants to hand her over to move on with her life, that’s going to raise questions.

The thought of lying to Evelyn also didn’t sit well with Alexander. She’d ask questions, and he wasn’t a fan of hiding the truth. On the flip side, he knew Sophia would likely hound him for information, always eager to help her best friend.

His mind drifted to the dangerous reality of Kyle’s Mafia life. If Evelyn and Sophia stumbled upon that knowledge, they could be in deep trouble. The memory of their last escapade in Vegas, where he fretted over Sophia’s safety the entire time, flashed before his eyes. Alexander shook his head as if trying to dispel the lingering unease.

With a decisive nod, he pocketed his phone, deciding that the conversation with Kyle would remain a secret. For Alexander, the safety of Sophia took precedence. He couldn’t bear the thought of history repeating itself, and if keeping a dangerous secret was the price to pay for her well-being, then that was a decision he was willing to make.

#152 “People Change, Ev.”

Sophia and Evelyn fixated on the glow of the laptop screen. The first article that captured their attention was a quirky revelation about a teenage Kyle Vitali. At the tender age of 15, he found himself in a peculiar predicament – pulled over at the police station for trespassing.

The article detailed a mischievous escapade where the young Kyle, along with three friends, dared to jump over the fence of a house and indulged in an illicit pool plunge until the authorities intervened.

Evelyn erupted into laughter, the realization sinking in as she laid eyes on a mugshot of the fifteen-year-old troublemaker. Her laughter echoed in the room, punctuated by occasional gasps for breath.

“I can’t believe it,” Sophia chimed in, sharing the amusement.

“That’s definitely him. I can just so easily imagine him doing something stupid like that as a kid.”

“See what other results there are on G* *gle,” Sophia suggested, eager to unveil more chapters of Kyle’s past.

Evelyn, still chuckling at the image of a teenage Kyle getting caught for trespassing, eagerly delved into the search for more details. The clattering of keys echoed in the room as she navigated through the virtual maze of information.

Sophia, equally intrigued, leaned in closer, her eyes fixed on the laptop screen. “This is gold, Evelyn. Imagine what other teenage escapades he might have had.”

As Evelyn clicked through the search results, the article about the pool incident was just the tip of the iceberg. They uncovered a series of minor misadventures, each one shedding light on the playful, rebellious side of Kyle’s youth.

“Look at this one,” Evelyn exclaimed, pointing at another article. “Kyle Vitali, age 17, caught sneaking into a concert without a ticket.”

Sophia burst into laughter, envisioning a younger Kyle trying to outsmart security. “He really had a knack for getting into trouble, didn’t he?”

Evelyn grinned, enjoying the trip down the memory lane of Kyle’s teenage antics. “Seems like it. But it’s weird how these stories don’t match the image of the serious journalist he became.”

Sophia nodded in agreement. “People change, Ev. Maybe these were just phases. Let’s check the registry. Maybe we can find more recent info.”

Evelyn, determined to unravel the layers of Kyle’s past, started searching through online registries. The soft glow of the laptop screen illuminated her focused expression as she scanned the results.

“”There’s a Kyle Vitali, age 30, listed here,” Evelyn announced, her eyes widening. “But it doesn’t give much information. Just an address.”

Sophia leaned in, intrigued. “Well, looks like we’ve hit a dead end. What do you want to do now?”

Evelyn, not one to give up easily, contemplated their next move. “Let’s pay a visit to this address. Maybe there’s more to discover in person. What do you think?”

Sophia hesitated for a moment, her concern evident in furrowed brows.” Are you sure this is a good idea?”

“Please, Sophia, let’s go tomorrow night after work,” Evelyn suggested, attempting to sway her friend’s reservations.

“Tomorrow, I have promised Alexander that we will have dinner together.”

“Okay, I’ll go alone,” Evelyn asserted, her determination unyielding.

“I don’t like that, Evelyn,” Sophia warned, giving her a stern look.

“Nothing is going to happen. I promise, if it gets dangerous, I’ll call you,” Evelyn assured, rolling her eyes at Sophia’s protective instincts.

Sophia sighed, still uneasy with the idea. “Just be careful, okay? And keep me updated.”

Evelyn nodded, appreciating Sophia’s concern. “I will. Let’s hope this visit provides the answers we’re looking for. 11

*

The next day, armed with a newfound determination, Evelyn found herself standing on the peculiar street where Kyle Vitali’s address led her. The neighborhood retained its mysterious aura, and she felt a mixture of anticipation and trepidation as she approached the houses.

She knocked on doors, politely inquiring about Kyle Vitali. However, the reactions were eerily consistent. The mere mention of his name sent a ripple of discomfort through the air, and the neighbors, feigning ignorance, became increasingly elusive.

Approaching a small group chatting on a front porch, Evelyn took a deep breath and asked, “Excuse me, do any of you happen to know Kyle Vitali?”

The group exchanged glances, their expressions guarded. “Kyle who?” one of them responded, a forced innocence in their tone.

“Kyle Vitali,” Evelyn insisted, trying to hide her growing frustration.

The neighbors continued their act, pretending not to have heard of such a person. Yet, their body language betrayed a sense of unease. The forced smiles and quick glances between them only deepened the mystery.

Determined to crack the facade, Evelyn decided to take a different tack. She approached an elderly man tending to his garden. “Sir, I’m looking for Kyle Vitali. Have you heard of him?”

The man paused, his gaze fixed on the flowers he was tending. “No, never heard of him,” he replied with a stiffness that raised Evelyn’s suspicion.

It was as if the entire neighborhood had conspired to erase any trace of Kyle Vitali’s existence. The more Evelyn pushed, the more evident it became that she was unwelcome in her pursuit of the truth.

Confused and frustrated, Evelyn decided to adopt a more subtle approach. She took a seat on a bench in the nearby park, pretending to read a magazine while discreetly observing the interactions around her.

As she observed, Evelyn noticed subtle glances and hushed conversations between the neighbors. It was as if they were bound by an unspoken agreement to protect a shared secret. The strange behavior of the community only fueled her determination to unravel the enigma that surrounded Kyle Vitali.

#153 “I’m Here to Spice Things up!”

Alexander arrived at Sophia’s office half an hour before their scheduled dinner, a vibrant bouquet of flowers in hand.

“You came early,” laughed Sophia as soon as he appeared at her door.

“I was going to come even earlier, but Laura reminded me that I have work,” Alexander replied playfully.

Sophia dropped the papers on her desk and eagerly went to greet him with a kiss. The moment their lips met, she couldn’t help but let out a small moan.

“Careful, Johnson. If you keep going like this, we might not make it to the restaurant.”

“Unfortunately, I’m so hungry we’ll have to go.”

“Come on.”

Alexander gently wrapped his arm around her waist, and together, they made their way to the exit.

Upon arriving at the restaurant and placing their orders, Alexander’s gaze lingered on Sophia for a prolonged moment.

“What?” she asked, laughing.

“You know,” he said with a smirk, “I can’t believe how lucky I am to be here with someone as beautiful as you.”

Sophia blushed, her laughter bubbling up. “Smooth talker! You’ve been watching too many romantic movies.”

“Guilty as charged,” Alexander admitted with a grin.

Just as they were getting lost in each other’s company, a familiar voice interrupted, “Well, well, well, if it isn’t the lovebirds!”

Alexander groaned, “Oh no, not now.”

Michael stood there with a mischievous grin. Alexander couldn’t resist the urge to roll his eyes.

Ignoring him, Michael pulled a chair from a nearby table and plopped down next to them. “Mind if I join?”

Alexander sighed, “Michael, we’re on a date.”

“Exactly! And what’s a date without a third wheel? I’m here to spice things up!”

Sophia smirked, observing Alexander who was visibly trying to count to ten to rein in his temper. Sensing his frustration, she gently took his hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze.

“Long time no see,” Michael began.

“There’s a reason for that,” retorted an irritated Alexander.

“Yes, Alex, your behavior. We’re brothers after all, and we never get together for family dinners.”

Alexander snorted, and Michael’s smug grin only grew wider.

“What do you want?” Alexander asked him bluntly.

“I was having dinner, and I saw you, and I immediately thought, why not annoy Alexander a little? It’s honestly becoming my favorite thing to do.”

“Find a hobby.”

“That’s better,” grinned Michael. ” How are you, Sophia? Unique news came for you after London.”

“Don’t remind me,” she pouted. “The important thing is that Megan got what she deserved.”

“So it is. Now, Benjamin, and Alexander are the proud owners of Enlighten Press. It’s going to be fun working together, isn’t it, Alex?”

Alexander’s jaw tightened at the mention of working together. Sophia interjected, attempting to lighten the mood, “Well, isn’t that just a family reunion dream come true?”

Michael chuckled. “Oh, it’s a dream, all right. A dream I’m going to savor every moment of.”

Alexander shot a pointed look at Michael. “This doesn’t mean we’re suddenly a happy family. I agreed to this partnership for business, not for cozy family dinners.”

Michael leaned back in his chair, still wearing that annoying grin. “Who said anything about cozy family dinners? I’m just looking forward to seeing your uptight self struggle with a bit of chaos.

“A great start to your joint work,” Sophia said sarcastically. “I can’t imagine the rest.”

“It will be an adventure for sure,” agreed Michael. “Alexander, Sophia still doesn’t have a drink. Come with me to the bar and let’s get her something.”

“There’s a waiter,” Alexander said, confused.

“I promise I’ll leave you two if you come with me,” Michael offered. Sophia laughed when she saw how quickly Alexander got up from the table and followed Michael to the bar.

“You know, Alex,” Michael began casually, swirling the ice in his drink, ” I’ve been doing some digging lately.”

Alexander glanced at him skeptically.” Digging? You? That’s a new one.”

“Hey, I’m a man of many talents,” Michael replied with a wink. “But seriously, I found something interesting. A trace of dear old Dad.”

Alexander’s eyebrows furrowed. “Dad? What are you talking about?”

“I’m talking about our charming father, “Michael said cryptically. “Seems like he’s up to something. And knowing him, it’s not baking cookies for the neighborhood block party.”

Alexander, intrigued, leaned in. “Our dad? I thought you two weren’t exactly on speaking terms.”

“We’re not,” Michael affirmed.

“So, what’s the big revelation, Michael?

Michael took a sip of his drink before leaning forward, his tone serious. “I overheard some shady conversations and caught wind of some secretive meetings. I think he’s plotting something big, and it might involve you, Alex.’

Alexander’s expression shifted from skepticism to concern. “Involving me? What could he possibly want?”

Michael shrugged. “Who knows with Dad? Money, power, revenge – it could be any of those. I just thought you should be careful. He’s not exactly the trustworthy type.”

Alexander’s jaw clenched, at the mention of their father reopening old wounds. “Why are you telling me this now?”

Michael leaned back again, a smirk returning to his face. “Call it a rare moment of brotherly concern. Plus, I figured it’d be more entertaining if you’re on your toes.”

After the Divorce: Crushed on My Lawyer Ex-wife Chapter 154

#154 “Aren’t You A bit Cocky?”

Alexander returned to the table with two glasses in hand. He handed one to Sophia. He gently kissed her forehead before settling into his chair.

“What was so secret Michael had to say?” Sophia asked, a playful smile tugging at the corners of her lips.

“Why did you think it was a secret?” Alexander sneered, his eyes holding a trace of the weight of the revelation.

“Why do you always forget that you’re talking to a lawyer? Seriously, ‘Come and get drinks with me’.” Sophia tried to imitate Michael’s voice. “That’s so obvious, Alex,”

“I really like it when you call me by my first name,” Alexander replied smugly, a subtle acknowledgment of the intimacy between them.

“Don’t twist the subject.”

“My father is back according to Michael. He also has concerns that he is up to something.”

Sophia’s expression shifted from playful to contemplative as she took a sip of her cocktail, the cool liquid contrast to the warmth of the news.

“And he decided to warn you?” Sophia’s surprise lingered in her eyes.

“The only thing Michael hates more than me is our father. I would do the same,” Alexander replied, his nonchalant shrug belying the complexity of the family dynamics.

“What could it be…”

“Let’s not mention my father tonight. Michael was more than enough for me anyway.”

Sophia laughed a soft and understanding melody that resonated between them.

“Okay. We won’t mention it.” she agreed.

Alexander moved his chair closer to Sophia’s, a subtle shift that spoke volumes of their intimacy. As their fingers intertwined, a current of electricity seemed to dance between their entangled hands.

Sophia couldn’t help but marvel at the unspoken connection, wondering if her body would ever cease to react so profoundly whenever Alexander was near.

“What are you thinking about?” Alexander asked, his eyes focused on Sophia’s face as she bit her lip, lost in her thoughts.

“For us,” she replied, her gaze meeting his.

“And what about us?”

“Fate is a strange thing. We were married, but it wasn’t until we got divorced that we started falling in love.”

“Is that a confession?” Alexander grinned, a playful glint in his eyes.

“For what?” Sophia, confused, turned to him completely.

“That you love me.”

Sophia bit her lower lip nervously, her eyes reflecting a mix of vulnerability and hesitation. Carefully choosing her words, she said, “I think you are jumping to conclusions a bit. I said I was giving us a chance.”

“And I think you love me, but you’re afraid to admit it.”

“Aren’t you a bit cocky?”

“No, Sophia. When I was in a coma, I heard everything you said to me. Every concern of yours, a childhood story, everything. And I think you would never have sat and told if you hadn’t started to realize that you were falling in love.”

“I was scared for you,” Sophia countered.

“That too,” Alexander nodded. “But let me tell you something. I think you’re afraid that if you confess, it will become real. I don’t even think you’ve admitted it to yourself. Because if you say it out loud, you will be completely unprotected and give me the power to break your heart.”

“This is not…”

“However, I will turn the whole world upside down before I let anything happen to you, let alone break your heart. But if you’re not ready yet, I understand. But I give you this power over me. I love you, Sophia.”

Sophia was completely overwhelmed by Alexander’s heartfelt words. He smiled at her stunned expression, his eyes filled with understanding and warmth. Without further words, he pulled her into a passionate kiss.

Sophia felt a whirlwind of emotions, her confusion melting into a delicious blend of desire and vulnerability as Alexander continued to kiss her. His lips were a gentle caress, yet there was an underlying insistence that made her feel like the air he needed to breathe. The intimacy of the moment heightened, and soon, gently turned into something hungrier.

His hand found the back of her neck, pulling her in for a more intense kiss. Sophia responded eagerly, her fingers digging into his hands as her controlled exterior crumbled in the wake of their shared passion. With Alexander, she found herself in a state of blissful chaos, a realm where control slipped away, leaving only the raw, unfiltered authenticity of her feelings.

“Sophia…” Alexander breathed, their lips momentarily parting. “Do you want me to call the bill.”

“I thought you wouldn’t ask,” she replied with a breathless smile, her eyes reflecting the lingering spark of their shared desire.

As Alexander signaled for the bill, the air between them crackled with a newfound energy.

“Do you want to spend the evening at home?” Alexander asked the desire he felt for Sophia still burning in his eyes.

“Oh yeah,” Sophia nodded with a smile, feeling the same heat between them.

Alexander swiftly settled the bill, and they left the restaurant. As they stood outside the elevator doors, a charged silence hung between them, the palpable energy of desire crackling in the air.

Both of them sat stiffly, fully aware that a single touch would ignite a passion they might not be able to contain. The recent kiss had already spoken volumes, and the unspoken tension between them was thick.

Inside the elevator, the doors closed, leaving only the two of them in the confined space. Unable to resist the magnetic pull any longer, Alexander broke the silence.

“Shit, Sophia. Stop biting that lip; you’re driving me crazy.”

Sophia looked at him, a slow smile playing on her lips, fully aware of the effect she had on him.

“Make me.”

Without hesitation, Alexander pressed the stop button on the elevator, bringing it to a halt between floors. Before Sophia could question his bold move, he lifted her off the ground and pressed her back against the cold wall of the elevator.

Their lips collided in a hungry, passionate kiss, the desire they had been holding back now unleashed in the confined space. The world outside disappeared as they lost themselves in the intoxicating dance of their shared longing.

After the Divorce: Crushed on My Lawyer Ex-wife Chapter 155

#155 “Nothing I Plan to Do Tonight is Polite.”

Sophia felt totally intoxicated by the way Alexander was touching her. His arms held her firmly in place, giving her more pleasure than she could admit.

She didn’t understand what it was about this man that made her let go of all inhibitions and give herself completely to him in the elevator. She wrapped her leg around his waist and moaned the moment his tongue slid down her neck.

She obediently craned her neck to give him full access to her body. Alexander growled in pleasure at the way her body responded to him.

“Sophia, we have to get to my apartment right away, and if you keep squeezing me like that with your hips, I won’t be able to…” Alexander replied breathlessly.

“What’s wrong with the elevator?”

Sophia laughed, but immediately after that, Alexander pressed her harder, and she moaned.

“I respect you enough not to do anything in the elevator.”

Sophia doesn’t say anything back; she’s so captivated by the way Alexander wraps his arms around her. She runs her fingers through his hair, staring into his beautiful dark green eyes. They are a reflection of her raging desire and the lack of almost any control.

She feels Alexander’s chest rise and fall hard and fast under her fingers, realizing that she too is gasping for air. Her body trembles slightly with electricity from his touches.

Sophia feels like she’s burning everywhere their bodies meet, but neither moves because they realize that if one does something the other will follow.

“Then take me to your apartment faster if you don’t want me to get down on my knees and…”

“Shit,” Alexander mutters before covering Sophia’s mouth with his own.

Their tongues tangled together as their hands roamed over each other’s bodies, exploring and igniting a fire that had been smoldering between them for far too long. Sophia’s hands slid under Alexander’s shirt, feeling the warmth of his skin and the defined muscles underneath. Alexander’s hands cupped Sophia’s face, deepening the kiss and pulling her closer.

The small space of the elevator only added to the intensity of their encounter. The confined space forced them to be pressed against each other, their bodies fitting together perfectly like two puzzle pieces. Sophia could feel Alexander’s arousal pressing against her and she moaned in response, sending shivers down his spine.

Suddenly, the elevator began its descent, Sophia and Alexander exchanged wide-eyed glances, swiftly pulling away from each other in a frenzy to rearrange their disheveled clothes.

With the doors opening, they found themselves face-to-face with an elderly couple who shot disapproving frowns their way. Alexander couldn’t help but laugh as he ushered Sophia out of the elevator.

Sharing a laugh, they made their way to Alexander’s car, the relief of having a driver evident on his face. Seated in the back, Alexander issued a brisk command.

“Roll up the partition,” his tone betraying no trace of objection.

The driver promptly obeyed the order.

“You could have asked more politely,” Sophia scolded him.

“Nothing I plan to do tonight is polite,” Alexander replied with a smirk, his hand sliding up Sophia’s thigh, causing her to gasp and her body to press against his.

The car ride to Alexander’s penthouse was filled with anticipation and teasing touches. As soon as they entered the luxurious apartment, their lips collided once again, their pent-up desire finally being released. Alexander led Sophia to the bedroom, their hands never leaving each other’s bodies.

As they fell onto the soft, plush bed, they were consumed by their passion, their bodies fitting together perfectly in a dance of pleasure. Their kisses were hot and urgent, their bodies moving in rhythm with each other. Alexander’s hands traced down Sophia’s curves, sending shivers down her spine, while Sophia’s hands tangled in Alexander’s hair, pulling him closer.

Their clothes were quickly discarded, leaving them both naked and exposed to each other. Alexander’s eyes devoured Sophia’s body, his desire evident in the way he looked at her. Sophia couldn’t help but feel a sense of empowerment as she watched the usually composed and stoic Alexander lose control in her presence.

He leaned in to kiss her neck, sending shivers down her spine as his lips trailed down to her collarbone. Sophia moaned softly, her hands gripping onto his shoulders as he continued to leave a trail of kisses down her body. Their bodies were now fully entwined, their skin flushed and slick with sweat.

Sophia’s body arched in pleasure as Alexander’s fingers found their way to her most sensitive spot, sending her into a frenzy of desire. Their bodies moved in perfect harmony, their moans and gasps filling the room.

“You are so fucking perfect,” Alexander moaned, his voice thick with desire. Sophia arched her back, unable to hold back any longer. She wanted him just as much as he wanted her.

Unable to take it anymore, Sophia pushed him onto the bed and positioned herself on top of him. In one quick, smooth motion, she took him inside her. Alexander’s eyes rolled back in pleasure and he let out a guttural groan.

“Fuck, Sophia,” he growled and dug his fingers into her thighs. She could feel his muscles tense beneath her touch, his body trembling with pleasure.

Sophia was riding him, her hips moving in a steady rhythm. She leaned down and kissed him, their tongues dancing in perfect sync. Every touch, every kiss, every moan was a testament to their intense passion for each other.

As they reached the peak of their pleasure, Sophia could feel Alexander’s body tense under her. He let out a loud moan as he climaxed, his fingers gripping her tightly. Sophia followed suit, her body shuddering as waves of pleasure washed over her.

As they lay there, catching their breath, Alexander pulled Sophia close to him. He kissed her forehead and whispered, “I love you, Sophia.”

#156 “Ev, My Favorite Troublemaker!”

Sophia woke up to the enticing aroma of coffee and the distinct scent of sandwiches. As she opened her eyes, she found Alexander setting up a bed tray adorned with a beautiful rose and a creatively arranged plate of sandwiches.

“Is this the life-saver sandwich?” she asked with a delighted grin.

“Oh, absolutely,” Alexander replied with a cheeky smile.

Sophia wrapped the thin sheet around her naked body. Alexander’s eyes flared with desire again, but he quickly controlled himself, knowing that if he didn’t, this breakfast would go to waste.

“Thank you,” Sophia said gently, making room for Alexander to sit next to her.

She kissed him tenderly, eager to indulge in the delicious sandwiches. Sophia couldn’t help but think that waking up this way was the most wonderful thing.

Alexander’s phone rang, interrupting the quiet morning. He huffed, but then he saw the name on the phone and picked it up.

“Good morning, mother,” he greeted.

Sophia continued to eat in silence, tuning in to the conversation.

“Yeah, she’s with me right now,” Alexander mentioned.

Sophia’s brows raised. She is surprised that Caroline is asking about her.

“Are you suggesting we come to your place for lunch?” Alexander said loud enough for Sophia to hear.

She nodded, and Alexander visibly relaxed.

“Yes, we will come,” he agreed. “I love you too. See you later.”

Ending the call, Alexander returned to his spot beside Sophia, ready to enjoy the morning together.

*

Evelyn hadn’t given up on her quest for information about Kyle. The next day, she returned to the neighborhood to continue her surveillance, but everything appeared normal and unsuspecting.

Feeling the need to escalate her efforts, she decided to reach out to a friend, Dane, who worked for the police. With a sense of urgency, Evelyn called him. Their friendship was built on a mutual exchange of favors, and Dane was always up for a challenge.

“Hey Dane, it’s Evelyn. I’ve got a new puzzle for you,” she greeted him over the phone.

“Ev, my favorite troublemaker! What do you need this time?” Dane chuckled.

“I’m on the hunt for details on Kyle Vitali. Anything juicy you can find for me?” Evelyn asked her tone a mix of excitement and mischief.

Dane laughed, “You never fail to spice up my routine. Consider it done. Let me dig into my bag of police secrets. I’ll get back to you soon. And, by the way, lunch is on you this time.”

Evelyn agreed, knowing she owed him one. As she waited for Dane’s call, she couldn’t help but wonder what kind of information he would uncover about Kyle Vitali.

A few hours later, Dane called back, his voice filled with intrigue. “Ev, you won’t believe what I found. This Kyle Vitali guy is like a ghost – barely any official records, but whispers suggest he’s connected to some shady business. Be cautious, my friend.”

Evelyn felt a chill run down her spine. Shady business? The plot thickened, and she realized her quest for information was leading her into uncharted territory.

“Are you still on the phone?” Dane asked after a prolonged silence.

“Oh yeah. Excuse me, what do you mean by that?” inquired Evelyn.

“I don’t have exact information. More like rumors, but nothing concrete. I still have an address registered in the system.”

“What’s the address?” Evelyn said, reaching for a notebook on the desk next to her, ready to jot it down.

“Oh no. It doesn’t work like that; you’ll get into trouble. The only way you’ll find out is for me to take you there. You won’t be walking alone. It’s a dangerous neighborhood.”

Evelyn felt the rush of adrenaline at the prospect of uncovering the truth about Kyle. Dane’s words about a dangerous neighborhood only fueled her determination.

“Taking me there sounds like a plan,” Evelyn replied. “I’m not one to shy away from a little danger, especially if it means getting closer to solving this mystery.”

Dane sighed on the other end of the line. “You always did have a knack for diving headfirst into trouble. Fine, let’s do it. But promise me you’ll stick close and follow my lead. We’re not playing detective in a safe, cozy precinct.”

Evelyn chuckled, “Deal. Lead the way, partner-in-crime. Let’s see what secrets this neighborhood holds.”

As they planned their excursion, Evelyn couldn’t shake the feeling that they were on the verge of unraveling a web of intrigue.

A few days later, Evelyn found herself standing on a dimly lit street corner, waiting for Dane. The air was thick with tension as she looked around, sensing the neighborhood’s uneasy atmosphere. Dane pulled up in an inconspicuous car, and Evelyn hopped in.

“Ready for an adventure?” Dane asked with a wry smile.

“Born ready,” Evelyn replied, her eyes gleaming with determination.

As they navigated through the narrow, shadowy streets, Evelyn couldn’t help but feel a surge of adrenaline. The neighborhood seemed to have a life of its own, each building hiding secrets behind its worn-out facade. They parked a few blocks away from the rumored address, choosing to approach on foot to attract less attention.

Evelyn and Dane strolled cautiously down the desolate street, shadows dancing on the walls. The silence was unsettling, broken only by distant murmurs and the occasional creak of a rusty sign swaying in the night breeze.

“There it is,” Dane whispered, pointing to a nondescript building with dimly lit windows. It looked like any other in the neighborhood, but Evelyn sensed that appearances could be deceiving.

As they approached the entrance, Evelyn’s heartbeat quickened. She felt a mix of fear and excitement, wondering what awaited them inside. The door creaked open, revealing a dimly lit corridor. They exchanged a determined glance and stepped into the unknown.

#157 “What is the Feud About?”

As soon as Sophia entered the villa, Caroline grabbed her in a strong hug.

“God, I lived to see you two get together,” she said happily.

“Mom,” Alexander fumed.

Sophia laughed and hugged Caroline back.

“Alexander, I’m so happy for you both, “Caroline continued.

“Me too,” he replied with a smile.

Caroline invited them into the dining room, and the table was piled high with all sorts of dishes.

“So, I haven’t cooked in years, but I hoped I still remembered how it was done. It took me two hours, and I wanted you to be honest about whether it was delicious.”

“You cooked?” Alexander raised an eyebrow.

“Of course, for my favorite people. I wanted to do something special.”

“There was no need to…” Sophia began.

“My dear, please, as far as you are concerned, the pleasure is mine.”

Caroline led them to the beautifully set dining table. The aroma of home- cooked meals filled the air, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The room was adorned with soft candlelight, giving it a cozy glow.

As they took their seats, Caroline watched their reactions anxiously as they tasted the first bites.

“Well?” she asked, her eyes searching for approval.

Sophia and Alexander exchanged a glance, and then Alexander grinned, ” Mom, it was incredible. You haven’t lost your touch.”

Caroline beamed with delight, happy to have successfully orchestrated this special gathering for her son and his beloved.

Sophia and Caroline engaged in conversation, but Alexander was visibly distracted, his mind preoccupied with Michael’s warning. Only now did he seriously contemplate the implications.

“Is everything okay?” Caroline asked, noticing Alexander’s silence.

Unable to contain his curiosity any longer, Alexander turned to his mother, a sense of urgency in his voice.

“Mom,” he began tentatively, “tell me about Dad. What happened between him and Grandpa?”

Caroline, surprised by the sudden shift in conversation, responded, “Where does this question come from, Alexander? You never talk about him.”

“Michael spoke to me last night.”

“Michael?” Caroline raised her voice. “I didn’t know you were in touch.”

“It’s not that. He came to warn me that he’s heard rumors that our father is coming back, and he suspects he’s up to something.”

Caroline sighed, her eyes reflecting a mix of emotions. “Your father, Alex, he was ambitious. He did what he thought he had to do to keep the ball rolling. But your grandfather didn’t like the path your father chose. It drove a wedge between them.”

She continued, her gaze distant as if revisiting the past. “One day, your grandfather made a choice. He drove your father away, brought me and young you back home. I haven’t seen or heard from your father since then.”

Alexander’s brow furrowed in confusion. “Why would Grandpa do that? What is the feud about?”

Caroline’s eyes met Alexander’s, filled with understanding. “Your father and your grandfather, they clashed in ways I couldn’t control. But I know one thing: your father hates your grandfather. He holds a grudge, and I fear he might do everything to take revenge.”

“But you have no idea where it comes from?” Alexander pressed.

“I guess your father has a claim on the company. I think he believes it’s as much his as it is yours.”

Alexander absorbed this information, confusion, and concern clouding his features. The revelation about his father’s estrangement and potential return added a layer of complexity to his already tumultuous family dynamics.

“Why would Grandpa drive Dad away like that? Was it just about the company?” Alexander questioned, trying to piece together the motives behind his grandfather’s actions.

Caroline’s gaze lingered on a distant memory. “It wasn’t just about the company, Alex. Your father had his ambitions, and your grandfather had a different vision. It was a clash of ideals, and I found myself caught in the middle. Your father wanted to use any means available to take over the corporate world, but your grandfather thought his methods were immoral.”

She continued, her voice tinged with regret, “Your grandfather thought he was protecting the legacy of the family business. He couldn’t accept the changes your father wanted to bring. It tore them apart, and in the end, he made a choice.”

The weight of the unspoken history hung in the air, and Alexander struggled to comprehend the magnitude of the rift between the two generations.

“But Dad hates Grandpa so much that he would seek revenge?” Alexander asked, still grappling with the implications.

Caroline nodded solemnly. “Your father is a proud man, Alex. The resentment has festered over the years, and I fear he might not see a peaceful resolution. If he’s returning, it’s likely with an agenda.”

“Does this mean that Alexander’s father will assert rights over the company?” Sophia joined the conversation.

“It’s possible,” replied Alexander thoughtfully.

“Does he have prescribed rights? I’ve been a lawyer for years and unless it’s specifically mentioned that..”

Caroline shook her head sadly.

“Alex, my boy, he hates your grandfather very much. I think that if he came back, it is not to take over the company, but to destroy it

#158 “Who Sent You?”

Evelyn surveyed the desolate surroundings cautiously; it was nothing like a welcoming home, more akin to an abandoned warehouse. Dane took the lead, a silent sentinel ready to react at the first sign of trouble.

“I got the chills,” Evelyn whispered her senses on high alert.

“And there’s a reason,” a voice responded, sending shivers down their spines.

They turned sharply to find a man covered in tattoos, his shaved head giving him an intimidating presence.

“What were you doing here?” he demanded, his eyes appraising them.

Evelyn, standing behind Dane for support, didn’t falter. “I was looking for information on Kyle Vitali.”

The tattooed man narrowed his eyes, suspicion evident. “And what exactly were you interested in?”

“Everything,” she replied with determination.

The man took a step closer, a subtle threat in his demeanor. “Look, if I were you, I wouldn’t ask questions that could get me into trouble.”

Dane, protective and assertive, growled, “Was that a threat?”

“Take it as you will,” the man retorted, defiant. “You didn’t belong there. Get out.”

Undeterred by the ominous atmosphere, Evelyn held her ground. ” We weren’t leaving until we got the answers we sought about Kyle Vitali. We weren’t there to cause trouble, just looking for information.”

The man’s tone shifted, and a menacing glint appeared in his eyes. ” You two really didn’t get it, did you? That wasn’t a place for outsiders to come poking around. I strongly suggested you leave before things got unpleasant.”

Dane stepped forward, his stance firm. “We weren’t afraid of threats. We just wanted information. If you knew something about Kyle, spill it.”

The man’s hand subtly moved to his side, indicating he might be armed. ” You were playing with fire, and you might have gotten burned. This was your last warning.”

“Come on,” Dane urged Evelyn. “Let’s get out of here.”

Dane and Evelyn hastily exited the eerie building, relieved to be out of the unsettling environment. The tattooed man eyed them suspiciously until they disappeared from his sight. As soon as they left, he retrieved his phone, a sinister expression on his face.

“Hey,” he grumbled into the phone.

“There was a cop there. Inquiring about Kyle,” the man reported, his voice filled with suspicion.

“I’ll track them down and send you the location,” he declared before abruptly ending the call.

Evelyn slid into the passenger seat of Dane’s car, the worn leather feeling cool against her skin. The engine roared to life, and they merged into the flow of traffic, navigating through the city’s labyrinthine streets. The urgency in Dane’s eyes was impossible to ignore, and as he steered the car with purpose, he felt like the guardian leading her through an uncharted maze of danger.

Dane’s voice broke the silence, his tone grave, “Evelyn, listen up. We’re getting into some serious territory here. This isn’t the time to be a lone wolf. Promise me you won’t go doing anything without letting me know first. It’s dangerous out there.”

Evelyn met his gaze, recognizing the concern etched on his face. At that moment, she understood the weight of the risks they were taking, the gravity of the unknown that lay ahead. She nodded in agreement, a silent pact between them.

*

The following day dragged on, filled with a relentless pursuit of leads and elusive trails. Exhausted but determined, Evelyn returned to her apartment, hoping for a moment’s respite. As she approached her front door, weariness clinging to her every step, she noticed something unsettling the door was ajar, an open invitation to the unknown.

A shiver ran down her spine, and a sense of foreboding gripped her. With cautious trepidation, she pushed the door open, half-expecting the unexpected. The sight that greeted her was the stuff of nightmares – two imposing figures, armed and ominous, standing in her living room.

Their eyes locked onto hers, devoid of mercy or empathy. The cold steel of their guns glinted ominously, casting an eerie shadow on the walls. Fear tightened its grip on her chest as they issued a chilling warning, “Not a word, lady. Make a sound, and you won’t live to regret it.”

The two armed men, their faces obscured by shadows, directed Evelyn to sit down. The air hung heavy with tension as they issued a chilling assurance cooperate, and no harm would befall her. With trepidation, she made her way to the solitary chair placed in the room’s center.

As she lowered herself into the seat, the men wasted no time. Swiftly, they bound her hands and feet, the tightness of the restraints a stark reminder of her vulnerability. The creaking sound of the knots being tied echoed in the room, a disconcerting symphony accompanying the palpable fear that enveloped her.

The men, their expressions unreadable, initiated the interrogation. The first question cut through the silence, hanging in the air like a looming threat, “Why are you prying into Kyle Vitali’s life?”

Evelyn, though constrained, felt the weight of their inquiry. The room seemed to close in around her as she navigated a delicate balance between truth and self-preservation. Her voice, steady but tinged with anxiety, broke the silence, “I’m just trying to find information. There’s something off about him, and I need to know what it is.”

The men exchanged a glance, their unreadable expressions betraying no hint of sympathy. One of them leaned in, his eyes drilling into hers, “Why? What’s it to you? Who sent you?”

#159 “Who Told You About Kyle?”

Evelyn’s eyes darted between the two men, desperation and fear mingling in her gaze. Her mind raced, urgently seeking an escape route from the perilous situation that had befallen her.

“No one sent me,” she responded, her voice a delicate mix of nervousness and defiance.

The men exchanged a knowing glance, suspicion lingering in the air. One of them, his tone accusatory, retorted, Then why was there a cop with you? I assume you’re also from the police.”

Evelyn, though fear gnawed at her, let out a strained grunt of frustration. ” Please. Do I look like a cop to you? I can’t even do a sit-up.” The attempt at levity, however feeble, served as her defense in the face of their intense scrutiny.

The room seemed to hold its breath as the men considered her response. Evelyn’s heart pounded in her chest, the seconds ticking away like an ominous countdown. Finally, one of them spoke, his voice cold and demanding.

“For the last time, why were you looking into Kyle Vitali’s life?”

Evelyn thought that if she said she was Kyle’s ex the men might decide to do something to him too. She didn’t know what his relationship was with these people, but since he stopped going there, things must not have gone well, Evelyn thought. She decided to lie.

Evelyn swallowed nervously before responding, “I… I just heard some things. Rumors, you know? I was curious, that’s all.”

The men exchanged skeptical glances, unconvinced by her explanation. The atmosphere in the room grew more charged with tension.

“Who told you about Kyle?” the other man demanded, his tone harsh.

Evelyn hesitated, grappling with the internal struggle between self- preservation and the pressure to divulge information. “It was just people talking in the neighborhood. I didn’t think it was a big deal.”

The first man leaned in closer, his eyes narrowing. “Don’t play games with us. What’s your real connection to Kyle Vitali?”

“I swear, I don’t have any connection to him. I was just curious,” Evelyn pleaded, her eyes wide with fear.

The second man, growing impatient, tightened his grip on the chair. “You better start telling the truth if you know what’s good for you.”

Evelyn’s mind raced, desperately searching for a way out of the increasingly perilous situation.

“I don’t know anything,” Evelyn insisted.

The men exchanged incredulous glances, skepticism etched across their faces. After a brief, silent communication, one of them nodded decisively.

“Fine. If you don’t want to talk to us, you’ll talk to the boss,” he declared coldly.

With abrupt efficiency, they untied Evelyn from the chair, their grip rough and unyielding. She was pulled up and dragged out of the apartment, stumbling under their forceful control.

Sophia found herself in her office, immersed in a sea of paperwork that had accumulated after recent dates with Alexander. Despite the workload, she cherished the time spent with him, considering it a worthwhile trade-off.

“Sophia, they’re looking for you on the second line,” the secretary announced, breaking into her focus.

“Who’s looking for me?” Sophia inquired, pausing before picking up.

“Some Dane. He sounds serious, said it’s related to Evelyn,” the secretary responded.

Sophia frowned, wondering why Evelyn hadn’t simply called her directly if she wanted to talk.

“Accept the call,” Sophia finally instructed.

She picked up her phone, curious about the unexpected call from Dane, an unfamiliar name to her.

“Hello, Sophia. I’m Dane Samoa, a third division police officer,” a calm voice introduced itself.

“Hello, policeman. Is there a problem?” Sophia asked, puzzled by the nature of the call.

“Please call me Dane; I’m not calling on official business,” Dane chuckled. ” It’s about Evelyn. She’s a close friend of mine and asked me to find out information about Kyle.”

Sophia swallowed, her thoughts racing. Evelyn’s involving the police seemed extreme, but she appreciated her friend’s determination.

“Why are you calling me? You don’t have Evelyn’s phone, do you?” Sophia inquired.

“It’s not that. She asked me to call you if I couldn’t reach her. She gave me your number. I’ve been trying to reach her since yesterday morning, but she doesn’t answer,” Dane explained, genuine concern creeping into his voice.

“Why did she assume you wouldn’t be able to connect with her?” Sophia probed, her analytical mind taking over.

“When we went to an address listed in the system as Kyle’s home, we happened upon a strange man who told us to leave and not ask any questions. I looked into it, and it turned out to be part of a dangerous drug trafficking organization. I’m worried about Evelyn, Sophia.”

Sophia’s heartbeat quickened, but she quickly composed herself.

“Dane, you have to tell me everything you know,” Sophia declared, grabbing her bag from the office. “And I’ll check Evelyn’s home.”

Sophia hurriedly exited her office, her mind racing with concern for Evelyn. She weaved through the busy office space, acknowledging the curious glances from her colleagues as she made her way to the elevator.

As she reached her car, she dialed Dane’s number again, her fingers tapping nervously on the steering wheel. “Dane, it’s Sophia. Keep me updated on anything you find and I will call you right away when I get there.”

“Be careful, Sophia,” Dane cautioned, his voice filled with genuine worry. “I will check if there is any more information related to this organization.”

Sophia nodded, though Dane couldn’t see it through the phone. She drove to Evelyn’s home with a sense of urgency, the worry intensifying with every passing minute.

#160 “Who the Lawyer was that They Kidnapped in Las Vegas?”

Sophia’s heart raced as she entered Evelyn’s apartment, her instincts screaming that something was terribly wrong. The silence was unsettling, and as she moved further in, her eyes widened in shock. There were signs of a break-in the door slightly ajar, belongings scattered.

She stopped dead in her tracks when her gaze fell upon the chair. The ropes, remnants of a forced restraint, sent shivers down her spine. Panic threatened to take hold, but Sophia fought to keep her composure. She needed to think clearly and act fast.

“Sophia, you gotta keep it together,” she whispered to herself, taking a deep breath.

She glanced around, assessing the situation. Her mind raced, and a decision formed. She needed information, and Kyle, with his mysterious connections, might hold the key. Swiftly, Sophia pulled out her phone and dialed Kyle’s number.

To her surprise, a robotic voice replied, “The number you’ve dialed is not in service. Please check the number and try again.”

Dread crept in, but Sophia refused to succumb to it. “No subscriber? That’s impossible,” she muttered, frowning at her phone.

With a determined glint in her eyes, Sophia decided to reach out to Sandro, Kyle’s cousin, who was her only hope of finding Kyle. She explained the situation hastily, emphasizing the urgency.

“Sandro, I need your help. Evelyn’s missing, and it’s not looking good. I think she stumbled onto something big, and we’re in deep trouble. I can’t get through to Kyle, and I need you to find out everything you can.”

Sandro, on the other end, absorbed the information. “Sophia, don’t worry. I’ll dig into this, find Kyle, and get back to you. Just be careful, okay?”

“Thanks, Sandro. We need to unravel this mess and find Evelyn. Keep me posted.”

As the call ended, Sophia felt a mix of anxiety and determination. The search for answers had just begun, and she was ready to dive into the dangerous unknown to save her friend.

After hanging up, Sandro found himself puzzled. The thought crossed his mind that Evelyn and Sophia always seemed to find trouble.

Sandro dialed Kyle’s number, a trace of concern in his expression, and received the same message as Sophie robotic voice declaring that the subscriber with that number did not exist. A heavy sigh escaped him, signaling the gravity of the situation. a cold

Feeling a sense of urgency, Sandro knew he had to reach out to the people in the underworld, for they held the keys to the answers he sought regarding Kyle’s mysterious disappearance.

“Sandro,” a familiar voice echoed through the phone – Alberto, one of the seasoned figures in the mafia, greeted him.

“Alberto, it’s been years,” Sandro acknowledged.

“Indeed. I heard you’ve been entangled with a mafia group from the countryside, dealing with some lawyer. Going back to the old ways?” Alberto inquired.

“No, Alberto, it’s about my cousin,” Sandro explained. “Have you heard anything about him?”

“The word on the street is that he’s returned home. Unlike you, he’s in business,” Alberto replied cryptically.

Sandro sighed in frustration, a mix of annoyance and concern etched on his face.

“Can you get me a number to reach him?” Sandro requested, understanding that connections were crucial in their world.

“Of course, Sandro, but I have a favor to ask in return.”

Sandro chuckled, a wry smile forming. ” Nothing is ever free with you. Go ahead, Alberto, ask away.”

“I’m wondering who the lawyer was that they kidnapped in Las Vegas, as far as I know, they blackmailed you with her?”

“Yes, my employee made the wrong choice to get me into trouble. Still, why do you care?”

“I heard she was good at her job. What can you tell me about her.”

“Her name is Sophia Johnson,” Sandro replied. “If you need a lawyer to get you out of trouble, she’s not the person for you. She only does corporate work and clean work. She’s the daughter of a judge, but her grandfather is Christopher Johnson. Besides, her career is very impressive…”

“Thanks, that’s what I needed,” Alberto cut in.

Sandro, suspicious, asked, “Why do you ask then?”

“Nothing important, just looking for a guy. That’s all you need to know if you’re not going back to business,” Alberto replied cryptically.

A frown creased Sandro’s forehead as a terrible feeling washed over him, realizing he might have revealed more than he intended.

“I’ll wait for Kyle’s number.”

“Of course. See you soon,” Alberto said, leaving Sandro with a lingering sense of uncertainty about the web of intrigue that seemed to be entangling those close to Kyle and Sophia.

Alberto hung up the phone, his eyes narrowing as he gazed into the distance. A calculating grin played on his lips as he turned to the person standing next to him, a trusted associate in the shadowy world of the mafia.

“That, my friend, was the girl we’ve been looking for,” Alberto whispered with a conspiratorial air.

His associate raised an eyebrow, curiosity flickering in his eyes. “You found her? What’s the plan?”

Alberto’s gaze remained fixed on the city skyline, a chessboard of lights in the gathering dusk. “We need to locate her. Get her address. I plan to pay her a little visit soon.”
