Ch. 311..315: Alpha King’s Lost Luna Chapter 311-315 [Finale]

Chapter 311 Doomed ADALYN Ada.

How long had it been since I'd heard that name? My parents had never referred to me as Ada. They had never given me a single nickname or pet name. Mother had always said it was improper to call a child by anything other than their name and Father had never given me enough affection to bother.

There were only two people in this world who had ever called me Ada.

Asher.

And Cora.

[tensed as I tried to understand how

Cassandra knew this. Had Asher told her about our close friendships when | we were young? No, there was no way.

Suddenly, I was hit with a realization, one I couldn’t ignore. I stared at Cassandra and studied her carefully. I searched her features, scrutinizing her nose, her mouth, the shape of her eyes.

| None were familiar, but as I stared at her deep emerald green irises and recognized the hue of them, it all began to make sense.

I'd never understood how Asher could fall in love with a common healer.

Cassandra wasn’t ugly by any means but to care so deeply about someone lowborn from a Pack on the border of the country had never made sense to me. Nor did the strange feeling in my stomach whenever [ was near her.

But as I stared into her eyes, I realized that Cassandra Keller wasn’t just an ordinary healer from Wild Crawler.

“I never expected this,” I uttered as I shook my head slowly. “I don’t understand. How are you alive, Cora? Do you know how desperate Asher was after your death? He nearly killed himself out of grief. How did you survive the inferno?” “Someone saved me,” she said softly.

For a moment, I wanted to give up on my plans altogether. I wanted to drop my weapon, set Marco down, and hug my oldest, dearest friend. Tears clouded my vision as I remembered playing with her all those years ago, how I would braid wildflowers into her long golden hair and act out imaginary

stories with her.

But as I stared into those green eyes, all of my sadness at her loss vanished.

We weren't little girls anymore. She, along with Asher, had betrayed me time and time again.

“You were always lucky,” I remarked as anger swelled within me. “But you won't be so lucky this time. You stepped right into a trap. The House of Moses is full of soldiers and the councilors are old and useless. Asher is strong but he won't be able to fight my men on his own. As for you... you were already dead the moment you followed me into this room.” Much to my annoyance, Cora didn’t seem affected by my words at all. She didn’t look scared or even nervous.

Instead, she continued to stare into my

eyes and regarded me as if I were some poor, pathetic little thing.

“You won't kill me, Adalyn,” she repeated herself and my rage exploded.

“I'wouldn’t be so certain,” I growled, and then I gestured at her with my weapon. “This knife is soaked with poison. I would only need to break your skin to take your life.” I wanted to point it at her to further

emphasize my point, but just as I went to do so, my wrist began to ache. It was as if the knife were a heavy hammer and I struggled under its weight. My brain spun in circles as I tried to figure out what was happening. I frowned and looked at my hand but nothing appeared to be wrong with it.

I turned to look at Cora. Her chin was

raised slightly, as if she knew something I didn’t.

“You're not going to hurt me with that,” she said firmly. “You're not going to do much of anything.” I glanced down at her clenched hand and then frowned further.

“What did you do?” I demanded, and moments later, remembered her trip to Yurene. The land of magic. “Did...

did you use magic on me? How do you know sorcery?” Cora didn’t answer and when she stepped forward, I reacted quickly. I lengthened my nails and held them to Marco’s neck.

“Take one more step and I'll kill him!” I shouted, and Marco trembled in my arms in fear, but I didn’t care.

Cora stopped at once and held her arms up. “You can’t kill Marco, Ada. I won't let you.” a | My nostrils flared and I felt as if I had gone mad. I was tired, angry, and confused, and my thoughts were like a storm within me.

“Why didn’t you use magic on me when I took Marco in the first place?” I wondered but my question answered itself. She wouldn’t have done that, not in front of the councilors. If they’d seen her use magic, she would have been named a witch and would be sentenced to death.

My anger grew. Knowing she could use sorcery meant I couldn’t use Marco as a bargaining chip anymore but I had another one ready.

“Don’t be too confident,” I warned her. |

“Becky is still in my grasp, in case you've forgotten. Your poor little assistant is in the House of Moses, If you make even one false move, I'll see to it that she’s brutally killed in the most painful, agonizing way possible.

Trust me, I have plenty of methods in mind. That little redhead will pay for your mistakes, I'll make sure of it.” Cora’s lips parted and a smile formed on mine. It felt good to watch her squirm for once and I wasn’t finished with my threats.

“And don’t forget about Asher’s beloved best friend, Silas,” I continued as her jaw tensed. “My brother’s life is in my hands, Cora. He only lives because I allow it, and you would do well to remember that. All it takes is a snap of my fingers and then poof. He's

| gone and in the ground. The Pack will be without a Beta and Asher will be crushed knowing his ally is gone for —— | good. I don’t care personally, but I know the country will mourn his loss.

It will be your fault that he’s gone. Do you want that on your conscience?” Finally, my words seemed to have some weight. Cora swallowed hard and blinked at me, clearly trying to find the right thing to say. Little did she know there was nothing that would soften the anger and emotions within me. I was too angry, so much so that my body began to shake.

As I glanced at the knife, I began to wonder if my trembling stemmed from fear instead, not that it mattered. 1 took a breath to steady myself and then concentrated on being calm. I had a |

plan. I had waited for this day for a long time. The soldiers in the House of Moses answered my orders. .

Cora was doomed.

Asher was doomed.

Silas and everyone else who dared go against me were doomed.

I would win this. I was more than capable of winning this.

Just as I began to feel better, the door flew open, revealing Becky and the man who had tried to rescue her. Much to my dismay and shock, they weren't alone.

“No,” I whispered. “I don’t understand.” My fear increased tenfold.

Silas stood behind them.

Chapter 312 Silas BECKY After our conversation with Oliver Moses, Dickson and I had been seized by the Moses guards and taken into a room that appeared to be used for interrogation. The door was crafted from iron and there were no windows, so the room was dim and quiet. There were only a pair of chairs, each a little rickety and old-looking. It was a pathetic, desolate sort of place, which was surely on purpose.

Time didn’t make much sense in there and I soon couldn't figure out how long we’d been locked in. My body ached and my mind was spinning out with a million thoughts as I absorbed all of the information I'd heard in the past

couple of days.

I had thought Oliver Moses would quickly find out the truth or ask me to confront Adalyn again, but Dickson thought the opposite when I presented the idea to him.

“Look at this place, Becky,” he said, his voice gloomy and negative. “No one is going to visit us any time soon.” Sadly, he appeared to be correct, and his point was only proven as time went on. Though we had no clock or watch, or even sunlight to give us any indication, I had the sense we had been there for a while, and with every passing second, my resolve weakened.

I didn’t understand why Oliver Moses didn’t act. I thought I had been

convincing enough for him to let us £20 or at least let us out of there, We sat down for a bit to rest our aching legs but when I grew bored and tired of the silence, I went to the door and tried my hand at messing with the lock.

Unfortunately for me, it was impossible to manage with the cuffs around my wrists.

“I thought you had a way to open the locks on these things,” I murmured in annoyance as I faced Dickson.

He didn’t say anything but his cheeks darkened a little. His blue eyes were fixated on the ground and I grew confused at his demeanor.

“How were you able to sneak into the House of Moses?” I asked him as my eyebrows creased together.

wy CY SVnNvo I waited for an answer but it never came. I didn’t understand why he was suddenly acting so silent and strange about things. I didn’t want to be suspicious of him, but my curiosity was growing by the second and I needed to know why he was being so odd.

“Dickson?” I prompted him again.

“How were you able to sneak into the House of Moses?” The silence was heavy until finally, Dickson looked up at me.

“I don’t know how to explain,” he muttered, and then he let out a soft sigh. “It’s... it’s a skill I guess. Comes from my past but I don’t really wanna talk about it, okay?” I frowned and blinked at him a few times.

A skill? And a past he didn’t want to talk about? Had Dickson been a thief before he became a healer? If that was the truth, I could understand why he didn’t want to talk about it, but still. That was heavy information and it was strange that it hadn’t come up in any of our prior conversations.

Before I could think on it for too long, Dickson quickly shifted the subject.

“How is Silas?” he wondered.

A small sigh escaped me as | remembered Silas. The very reason we were in this mess in the first place.

“1 didn’t lie to Oliver,” I said as I met Dickson’s gaze. “Adalyn bribed the head of healers to give him medicine to

keep him unconscious.” Dickson nodded and after a pause, spoke again. “That’s not what I meant.

I figured you weren’t lying. I guess I wanted to know if you knew something more since there’s the mate bond.” “Oh,” I uttered and suddenly heat came to my cheeks.

“Is it indeed as unbreakable as Oliver said?” he wondered.

I shrugged as the heat deepened further. “I don’t know, honestly. Mate bonds are so rare. I don’t know how they work.” He nodded again.

We fell quiet and then Dickson approached me. He wore a strange expression and his cheeks appeared to be as flushed as mine felt. There was

something on his mind and I wasn’t sure what.

He cleared his throat finally. “Becky, if we were able to escape and survive this time, would you be willing to leave the country with me?” My jaw dropped and I stared at him in shock. I didn’t understand what he meant by that. Why would he want to leave Wegalla? Just as I was about to speak and ask him as much, we heard the sound of the lock click, and I stiffened, prepared for a guard to enter. But much to my surprise, when the door opened, light flooded in, and it wasn’t a guard of a soldier.

It was Silas.

For a second, I thought I was dreaming

or hallucinating, but when I caught his scent, I knew I wasn’t. Silas Moses was in the room with us. His complexion was pale, but he was alive and conscious.

“It’s time to leave,” he said clearly as his golden eyes stared into mine.

sok ok Silas didn’t explain much about his condition. He only told us that he had known Adalyn’s plan long ago. The medicine had worked for a bit, but as his body got used to it, it became less effective, and soon, he was able to stay awake. So, to keep Adalyn from having the healer up the dosage, he merely pretended to be asleep to find out what she wanted.

Though I was glad he was alive and mostly well, irritation bloomed within

me. I had been so worried about him and risked my life to see if he was still alive or not and he had just pretended to be unconscious? Silas seemed to sense my annoyance and glanced down at me with a strange look on his face.

“I’m glad you were worried about me,” he said softly, just low enough for only me to hear.

I sighed and tried to shove away my agitation.

“Why did you decide to wake up now?” I wondered.

“Because it was the right time,” he said vaguely.

The right time? The right time for what?

We suddenly stopped walking and stood in front of the room, I heard a commotion inside and without hesitation, opened the door to reveal Adalyn and Cassandra. Before the excitement and happiness of reuniting with my dear friend engulfed me, I noticed that Adalyn’s claws were sharpened and aimed at Marco.

Was she holding the prince hostage? Adalyn’s eyes widened as she noticed us and grew wider when she saw Silas.

“Sister,” Silas spoke up and Adalyn shivered She shoved Marco's shoulder, pushing him onto the floor, and then began to laugh like a crazy person. She waved a

knife in the air and muttered to herself, Silas stepped forward and tried to plead with her.

“Sister,” he said in a softer voice.

But Adalyn didn’t care.

“Step back!” she snarled as she waved the knife in his direction. “I'll kill you.

I'll kill all of you!” She glared at us and then suddenly ran, pushing past us and then taking off down the corridor.

Chapter 313 Goodbye ASHER It had been a while since Cassandra entered the building, and with every passing minute, my nervousness and anxiety grew stronger. While I knew she was capable of handling herself, I didn’t like the idea of her being in the House of Moses without me.

I began to feel restless. It was a mistake to let her leave with Adalyn alone.

I pondered my options for a minute and then decided I couldn’t wait out on the grounds any longer, not when my mate could be in danger. I started to walk toward the building, but before I could get too far, the soldiers guarding us stopped me.

At first, they were polite but quickly, they became rude. They shouted and told me to back up. I wasn’t allowed in; not until Lady Adalyn said so.

I considered pushing past them but didn’t want to escalate the situation, so I nodded and retreated ever so slightly.

All around me, the councilors grew restless. They too, wanted to leave, only they desired to go back to Merliscire. However, when a group of them tried to turn around and go back in the direction we came from the soldiers stepped in and wouldn't allow them to leave.

The councilors and soldiers argued and that soon escalated to physical blows.

Shoving commenced and then angry cries. The soldiers were armed but no one wanted to accept defeat, myself included.

“Ineed to get inside,” I declared again.

The leading soldier showed his gun and bared his teeth at me. “No one can enter without Lord or Lady Moses’ command. Step aside.” Karsh was indignant upon hearing his words. His face reddened and his eyes flashed.

“How dare you go against the king?” he demanded. “Is your lord planning an usurpation?” The leading soldier’s lips drew into a thin line and he rolled his dark eyes. “I serve the Lords of Moses alone and report to them directly. If the king wants something, he needs to speak directly to Lord or Lady Moses.” “You're nothing more than a dog of

Moses,” Karsh murmured. “A pathetic, disloyal mutt.” The soldier was vexed at once. He place his gun against Karsh’s forehead with no hesitation and the soldiers behind him raised their guns as well. Despite the threat, Karsh snarled and bared his fangs to the soldier. Some of the other, younger councilors snarled with him, and as their growls filled the air, it seemed like a fight was about to break out, one that would end in bloodshed.

Suddenly, noise broke out all around us. It sounded like footsteps, the steps of a lot of people. Perhaps a troop.

The soldiers seemed surprised and agitated by this influx of noise. They gripped their weapons in their hands and glanced around before fixing their

gazes on the front gate. None of them seemed to know whose reinforcement it was.

Suddenly, the gate burst open, and hundreds of soldiers flooded in, following a man and a woman. I couldn’t tell who they were at first, but moments later, my vision cleared and a smile formed on my lips.

It was Kane and Kiara.

The soldiers stepped back enough for me to move past them and I strode right over to my stepbrother.

“Sorry I'm late, dear brother,” Kane said when I approached. His violet eyes were tired but glinted with their usual amusement. “I was delayed a little but I have the soldiers of Sky Pride along with the Myriad behind me.”

I wanted to laugh. These new soldiers were much stronger than the Moses’ and with them on our side, we finally stood a chance.

“Glad to see you, Kane,” I said and then I nodded at Kiara. “And you Kiara.

I need to get inside the building.

Cassandra is in there with Adalyn.” Kane blinked at me. “Why is she in there?” “Adalyn took Marco hostage,” I explained vaguely. “Those were her terms.” My stepbrother shook his head. “She’s insane.” I nodded in agreement. “We need to get in there.” Just as I uttered the words, Kane’s soldiers caught up and the courtyard

descended into chaos. It became a massive battle and despite the huge gap in their strength, the Moses soldiers decided to fight.

“We'll get you there,” Kane announced, and he took Kiara’s hand.

“Let’s go!” We moved forward and a handful of Sky Pride’s soldiers rushed over to us.

With their help, I was able to move through the yard and then made it to the doors of the House of Moses.

“Good luck, brother!” Kane called out and then he rejoined the madness with Kiara.

I wanted to tell him the same but there was no time. I rushed into the House of Moses and began to search for Cassandra.

I ran quickly through the corridors but couldn’t find anyone other than some scared servants. They seemed to have no idea what was going on and were rightfully fearful of all of the noise. I wanted to comfort them but there was no time.

I continued to search the halls until suddenly, I bumped into someone else.

It was Adalyn.

Her golden eyes were crazed and I realized that she didn’t seem to recognize me at all. She muttered over and over to herself and then stumbled before running toward the door.

Suddenly, a group ran toward me, headed by Cassandra, and relief ran through me.

“Are you alright?” I demanded as she reached me.

1 “Tam,” she assured me. She held Marco tightly in her arms. “Adalyn has a knife that’s soaked with poison. We need to get to her.” My eyes widened and I nodded.

There was no telling what someone in her state of mind would do with such a weapon.

We ran down the corridor and caught up with Adalyn on the porch. She stared out at the fighting soldiers fora second and then whipped around to face us.

I stood in front of Cassandra to protect her and Adalyn laughed.

“you're a fool, Asher,” she managed to say through her laughter. “Thal healer

is a witch. She should have been burnt in the inferno.” A few Myriad soldiers approached the porch and I held my hands up to get them to stop.

“She has a poisoned knife,” I called out to them, causing Adalyn to laugh again.

“No one can stop me!” she cackled as she waved the blade around. She suddenly stopped and stared at Marco, who was tightly clenched against Cassandra.

Adalyn stepped forward. “Come to Mommy, Marco.” Marco shook his head. “No, Mommy.” She glared at Cassandra venomously.

“Now you've taken my son from me

too!” “Stop it Adalyn!” I shouted at her.

“This is your final chanceto surrender.” Adalyn stopped in her tracks and turned to face me. Her expression grew solemn and she shook her head.

“There is no last chance for me,” she said.

“Ada, please,” Cassandra pleaded, and my lips parted in surprise. It had been a long time since I'd heard her use Adalyn’s nickname and it was a little jarring. Did she know that Cassandra was really Cora? For a moment, Adalyn seemed like she was going to drop the knife but then she shook her head and placed the knife against her own throat. My heart

dropped as she smiled.

“Goodbye Asher,” she whispered, and { then she smiled at Cassandra.

“Goodbye Cora.” Then, before I could stop her, she slit her throat.

Chapter 314 Epilogue CASSANDRA It was a sunny day, the first one in a long time.

After the long winter and cold spring, summer eventually came, and it was hotter than it had been in forever.

Sunlight streamed in through the clinic window, and I was a little distracted as I stared out at the window at the kids in the yard.

Finnick, Lila, Marley’s boys Eric and Adrian, and Dominic were all chasing each other, playing a game of tag with one another. Marco was out there with them too, but he was sitting on a bench alone, meters away from the rest of the kids. He looked lonely and didn’t move

as the others played around him.

It had been a month since the chaos in Merliscire and Adalyn’s death.

supposed it was still hard for Marco to accept the fact that his mother was gone. She had killed herself right in front of him after holding him hostage and threatening to hurt him. The poor little boy had endured so much trauma in such a short amount of time.

He wasn’t a bad kid. He had a mean disposition at times, but he wasn’t cursed to be a bad person. He had been mistreated by Adalyn just as she had been mistreated by Oliver. Hatred had grown in his little heart but it wasn’t too late for him to change.

Adalyn and Oliver's deaths had caused a stir in Anemond. The Moses family had their status revoked and lost all of

wy TV BVnNUS their power, Rumors and gossip spread everywhere and people started to point out that the Moses family had always been corrupt. It came to light that they had plotted the fall of the Felix

family and had murdered the old king, as well as conspired with the North. There were other rumors too, some true, some not. I didn’t care too much about it all.

All that was important to me was rebuilding the family I still had.

Ector had been transferred to the clinic in Wild Crawler. The quietness was good for his condition, as was the nice weather. He wasn’t yet ready to return to a bustling life after all he’d endured in the borderlands, but he was getting stronger and stronger every day.

Asher had proposed to clear my

wy TY Bure family’s name but | rejected that plan. | didn’t want my family to be spoken of again since there was no way to.prove anything. Besides, nothing would change. My father was gone and Ector would never be a warrior again. My identity was a problem as well, one I didn’t know how to solve.

Asher said he’d make an announcement telling everyone I was his queen, but I shot that down too. I didn't want to be a queen. I was tired of society, conspiracies, and politics. I wanted to continue being a healer. It was one of the few things that gave me joy and a sense of purpose.

So, once the chaos settled, I returned with my brother to Wild Crawler. I needed to make sure that all of our patients had recovered and the once- mysterious illness was gone for good.

Asher was unhappy with my decision to leave Anemond, but I assured him that no matter what, we would always be together. We were bonded.

Nothing could force us apart.

I'was pulled back into reality when Marley cleared her throat and set her papers down.

“The last batch of patients passed their health tests,” she remarked. “They’re ready to leave the clinic next week.” ~ Ibreathed a sigh of relief. “Thank goodness.” “Finally this is going to end,” she sighed as

well. She came and joined me on the window bench and stared out at the children.

Silence lingered and then she spoke,

“How are you going to deal with this thing between you and the king?” she wondered.

“What thing?” I wondered as I frowned at her.

“Marriage?” Marley said with a roll of her eyes.

I sighed and shook my head. “I don’t know. Maybe it’s too early to get married.” “Anyone with eyes can see you're the only one he wants,” she remarked with a small smile. “He can’t wait to marry you. »n “The love between us is more than just love,” I said. “It’s deeper than that. We don’t need to marry to show we love each other,” )

“I don’t know, girl,” Marley sighed.

“Men are surprising. Sometimes they want a wedding as much as women | do.” “Are you talking about Jasper?” I said with a small laugh of my own.

She rolled her pale green eyes again and then groaned. She tugged at her dark hair absently and said nothing for amoment.

Jasper had proposed to Marley a couple of days ago and she had yet to give him an answer.

“I care about him, but I think I need to wait,” she said. “I want to enjoy life on my own for a little while. I think you have the right idea, Cassy. It’s too early to get married.” We shared a laugh and then she turned

to face me. I “I'miss Becky,” she said. “She should be here laughing with us about men.” “I'miss her too,” I agreed.

After the chaos and fighting, Becky left Anemond alone. She decided she wanted to go on a journey, an adventure of her own. She wanted to see the wider world and practice her healing skills. There was more she wanted to learn and she needed some space to breathe.

To our surprise, she didn’t go with Dickson or Silas. I didn’t know what happened between the three of them, but there was a conversation after the chaos. A bad one, I supposed. Becky wouldn’t tell me about it but the next day, she decided to leave, -

I' was sad that she was gone, but I knew that she needed this adventure, She wrote to us every couple of weeks, telling us about her experiences.

“I'envy Becky,” Marley sighed. “I can’t go anywhere with the kids. But then again... It’s going to be nice to find some quietness again. It’s all been so chaotic and awful that maybe some peace is exactly what we need.” I smiled at her and nodded in agreement.

A breeze blew through the open window and the room filled with the scent of herbs and flowers. I closed my eyes and enjoyed the pleasant smell and warm sunlight. She was right. It was nice to find some peace after all we'd been through. Between Anemond and Yurene, I was ready for some

tranquility and relaxation with my friends and family.

Marley suddenly nudged me awake.

“Cassy... Your lover is coming.” I sat up straight and glanced out the window. Sure enough, I could see Asher at the end of the street. Sunlight poured over him and even from my vantage, I could see a glimmer in his beautiful gray eyes.

The image of him paired with our children and the beautiful scenery was enough to make me well up with tears of joy. This was the prettiest picture in all of the world, and I felt like the luckiest woman alive.
