Chapter 81 Drake’s Plans

Drake Robert stepped into Ria Robert Couture. It was a bit crowded on this day. He took in the beauty of the luxurious clothing store. Glittery clothes of all kinds of designs hanging on racks. No wonder his mom had insisted that she wanted to come to Ria Robert Couture to buy dresses.

Drake had tried to talk to his dad into allowing her but he refused. Frederick said that she should be spending more time at Sanders family home to take care of Bay and their grandchild. Frederick remained adamant about it.

And when Drake saw that his dad refused, he decided to keep his plans of striking a deal with Ria Robert a secret. He doesn’t have to know anyways!

Drake searched the large room to check out for Ria but he couldn’t find her. He arrived in Chicago yesterday. Actually, he was in town to meet an Italian investor and he saw it as a chance to work on his plans. He came straight down to Ria Robert Couture after meeting with the Italian investor.

“Can I help you to pick out a dress, sir?” A lady in black suit said to him. She had noticed the way he was looking around and concluded that he needed help.

“Oh! Yes please. But I don’t need a dress.” He moved closer to her.

“What do you need, sir?” She asked.

“I want to meet the owner of this place.” Drake answered.

“Oh! Miss Ria!” She mouthed.

“Yes Ria Robert!” He snapped his fingers.

The lady smiled brilliantly “Miss Ria is in the office.”

“Can I meet her? I have a business deal for her.” Drake requested in a polite manner.

“Sure. Come with me, sir.” She pointed towards a direction.

Drake followed her through a door which was connected to a hallway. He heard the sounds of machine wheels as they passed by a door. About few more steps then they got to another door. The lady stopped and she knocked on the door.

“Come in.” They heard someone say.

The lady turned to look at him. “What’s your name sir?”

“Drake. So just tell her Drake Robert.” He answered.

“Okay. A minute please.” Then she opened the door and walked in.

She came back seconds later. “Please come in.” She opened the door wide for him to step into the office.

The door clicked close behind him. He turned and the lady was gone. Ria Robert sat at her desk with a pencil in her right hand. She was beautiful as ever!

Drake stood where he was taking in her beauty. He couldn’t help glancing downward to the front of her creme pleasant blouse. And since he happened to be looking that way, he lingered just a moment to admire the expanse of her creamy, glistening skin that revealed above the deep neckline and the deep shadow of cleavage.

Ria cleared her throat snapping him out of trance. “Um.. Mr Drake?” She stood up from the chair.

“Yes.” Drake said with an apologetic grin as he lifted his gaze away from that direction to look at her face.

“You are being bold, sir.” Ria sounded offended.

Oh! Damn it! He shouldn’t have done that but he just couldn’t help it! Even looking at her sheen face made it hard for Drake to maintain his train of thought. But he need to think clearly! He shouldn’t get enchanted by her beauty if he want the plan to work!

“Pardon me.” Drake expression was meek and his tone was even apologetic.

Ria stared at him. Her expression unreadable as she nodded slowly. “Please take a seat.” she pointed to the set of couches in the office.

Drake sank unto the couch closer to her desk. “It is nice to see you again.” He said.

” I hate to see you again.” She wanted to say but she bit back her words and swallowed hard.

“How may I help you, Mr Drake?” Ria said after she settled back in her chair.

“Oh yes… Ria -” Drake paused.

He continued after taking in a deep breathe. “Perhaps are you aware that my company Limos produces the best fabrics in the country?”

Ria shook her head. “No. I only know Lint Corporation to be the largest textile industry in Chicago.”

Drake nodded in agreement. “So Lint Corporation supplies RRC right?”

“Yes. And that makes Ian and I business partners.” She replied.

Good. Business Partners! Drake Robert would also be glad to be her partner too!

“I have an offer for you.” Drake rested his back on the couch and crossed his legs.

“What offer?” Ria furrowed her eyebrows.

“Limos can also supply fabrics to your store at lower prices plus silk and lace if that is necessary too.” Drake stated.

Ria was silent while he waited for her response.

“It is a sweet offer.” He added.

“At a lower price -” Ria paused.

“Yes. Absolutely low cost.” Drake nodded.

“And who will bear the cost of moving the supplies to Chicago from Idaho?” Ria asked.

“You don’t have to worry about it. We have a local branch here in Chicago. It is about four hours drive to this place. Limos local fabric branch in Chicago can supply RRC with every materials.” He responded.

But the drive from Idaho to Chicago is about twenty four hours and thirty eight minutes. That won’t be easy. So the local branch is the best option. And Drake already spoke to the manager in charge of the branch in case Ria agrees to partner with the company.

“Mr Drake, I didn’t know Limos has a branch here in Chicago.” Ria feigned a small smile on her face.

“Yes. We have been running it for years now. We supply to some famous clothes designers and materials store owners too.” Drake grinned.

“At lower prices?” Ria chipped in sharply.

“Huh? No.” Drake answered sincerely.

He decided to supply at lower prices because he doesn’t want to lose the ten million dollars deal with Ian. The plan is to use Ria to get Ian Bryant’s attraction.

Ria forehead creased. “So why do you want to supply Ria Robert Couture at lower price?”

“That’s how Limos does to new clothes designers. It is like a charity scheme to support a growing business.” Drake answered. Well that’s partly true!

“Oh really?” Ria mouthed as she toyed with the pencil trapped in between her fingers.

“We reach out to upcoming designers and help them with materials they need and also support the business.” He completed.

Ria shook her head slowly. “Okay.”

“So are you accepting my offer?” Drake demanded.

“No. I would have to talk to Ian about it before making any decision.” Ria answered.

“Is that necessary?” He screwed up his face although her response was like a breakthrough to his plans.

“Yes. The reason is Ian Bryant owns Ria Robert Couture. He invested a lot here. So I have to tell him anything going on here.” Ria replied.

Well it is better for him! If she tells Ian about it, Drake was sure he would advise her against it and possible call him. If Ian calls then Drake would tell him to sign the deal if he doesn’t want him to partner with Ria Robert. Mission successful! Drake thought.

“But you own the brand, Ian being your business partner and being a major investor doesn’t mean you have to-”

“Lint Corporation textile branch supplies RRC so accepting your offer just like that will only make me a traitor. Don’t you think?” Ria shrugged.

“Okay. I understand.” Drake stood up. He walked closer to the desk, removed a complimentary card from his suit pocket and gave it to her. “Call me whenever you have a change of mind or if your business partner agrees to let you partner with me.”

“All right.” Ria collected the card.

“Yeah. It was really nice to see you again. Goodbye.” Drake made his way towards the door and walked out of the office.

Ria heaved a huge sigh of relief as if she has been holding her breathe all along.

Chapter 82 Will you tell him everything?

Ria heard a soft knock on the door again few seconds after Drake left the office. She could hardly believe it when Liza said Drake Robert was here to see her. She had wondered why he was around to see her.

Ria still feels offended that when he stepped right into the office that pervert had stared at her; herchest and it wasn’t as if it was too exposed. He looked fixedly like how he did at the business men and women’s party. She felt uncomfortable at his intense gaze and she was forced to snap him out of the silly ideas forming in his head. Plus she had only managed to act calm around him.

The knock sounded again snapping Ria out of thought. “Please… come in.”

Ma’am Elise walked in with a concerned look on her face. “Miss Ria, I saw this man in the hallway when I was about stepping out of the work room.” She saw Drake!

“That was Drake Robert.” Ria said.

“Drake… Robert?” Ma’am Elise eyes widened in surprise and shock.

“Yes… that’s Frederick’s son I told you about.” She reminded her.

Ma’am Elise shook her head in understanding. “Yes… yes… I know the one you met at the business men and women dinner party.”

Ria nodded.

“Why was he here?” She asked.

“To make a offer.” Ria explained Drake’s reason for showing up out of the blues. She clicked on the mini laptop on the desk and searched for Limos local fabric branch in Chicago.

“Miss Ria, I can’t believe this is happening.” Ma’am Elise came to her side.

“Same here, ma’am Elise.” The search engine brought out images of Limos fabric branch in Chicago.

“So what did you tell him?”

“I told I was going to tell Ian about it.” Ria sighed.

“What do you want to do?” Ma’am Elise was trying to say that what would Ria do if Ian wasn’t in the picture.

“I don’t know. I am not not sure. I only know this is a chance to get to Frederick but ma’am Elise I don’t want Ian to feel like I am starting to turn against him. I mean, I don’t want him to feel like I want to betray him after everything he has done for me. And since Lint Corporation supplies RRC I don’t need Limos Fabrics.” Ria rubbed her temples.

“So you are willing to put revenge aside and think of Mr Ian’s feeling.” Ma’am Elise stiffed back a smile that almost played on her lips.

Ria looked up at her. “Ma’am Elise, I don’t want to hurt Ian in anyway and I have given up on revenge.”

Ma’am Elise eyes widened again. “You don’t want Frederick to pay for his crimes anymore?!”

“He will definitely pay for his crimes but I won’t be the one to end his life. I want justice. I realized that revenge will get me into trouble like ending up in jail if I kill him with my own hands. I have too much to lose if I end his life myself.” She sighed.

“So does that means you will go by my suggestion of reinvestigation?” Ma’am Elise placed her hand on Ria’s shoulder.

“Yes. Ethan told me reinvestigation is the best option.” Ria replied.

She already introduced Ethan to ma’am Elise and ma’am Loretta when he came around yesterday. Actually Ria wasn’t able to tell her everything she had discussed with Ethan just that he knows everything about her past.

“And I also think you should still try to consider telling Mr Ian what Frederick Robert did to you.” Ma’am Elise suggested.

“Yes. Yes. You are right. But I am-”

“You are afraid that he would leave if he finds out what you used to be to Lucas right?” Ma’am Elise rubbed her back gently.

I nodded slowly.

“Well have you thought of how Mr Ian would feel if he finds out from another source? Or if he knows that you opened up about your past to an old friend whom you just met.” Ma’am Elise’s was calm.

Ria became silent. She is right. But at the same time Ian won’t find out from another source except if ma’am Elise or Ethan discloses her past to him.

Ethan is on the search for a private investigator they can trust. And he mentioned that they need a strong connection with the police and also someone who has strong connection in the Judicial system. Ethan asked if Ian knew about anyone but Ria made it clear that she doesn’t want him to know yet. Still, Ethan concluded that Ian was the best option.

Ria is not ready to tell Ian about it or maybe she wants to but she is just scared. She told Ethan not mention it to him. Although she didn’t tell Ethan that she was scared Ian would reject her if he finds out about her past.

Ria would be the one to tell him when the time comes. She concluded.

“Why don’t you try telling him about it first and see if he will leave you. To be honest, Miss Ria, I don’t think any man in his right senses will turn his back on you because of what you went through in the past. I mean, it wasn’t your fault. You were a victim of circumstance. And I want you to stop seeing yourself as Lucas’s sex pet because all that is gone. Please try to put your past behind you.”

Ria touched ma’am Elise hand which was on her shoulder. “I am trying. Believe me, ma’am Elise, I want to put everything behind me and forget it. I want to tell Ian everything but-” Her voice trailed off.

“Listen miss Ria, time waits for no one. And your excuses will not slow down time neither will your indecisions delay it. What I am trying to say is that, don’t waste your time in anger, regrets, hate and worries because time will not turn back and cry with you.”

Tears clouded Ria’s vision. “I know.”

“Miss Ria, it is time to let go of the past. I am not saying you shouldn’t avenge your parents death. But all I am saying is that the time is now. The time to make the right decisions.”

Tears streamed down her cheeks. “You are right.” Ria turned and wrapped her arms around ma’am Elise waist. “You are right. Thank you, ma’am Elise.” She sniffed.

“So will you tell him everything?” Ma’am Elise asked.

Yes! It seems Ian is the only one that can help her now! Ria needs his connections to be able to put that monster in jail. And her mind will also be at rest if she tells Ian everything. But if after telling Ian and he rejects her then she would have to accept her fate again and probably move on.

Ria doubted it; the moving on. The mere thought of Ian rejecting her and not seeing him ever again set tears in her eyes again.

“I will tell him. I only need to work up the courage to tell him… everything.” She mumbled.

Chapter 83 Possessive Ian Bryant

Ian pulled up in front of the enormous steel gate but he didn’t press the spare remote control in the car to open the gate. He saw no need to drive in since he would be leaving soon. He just came around to say good night.

Ian got out of the car and punched in the password to open the small gate and it did. He motioned towards Ria’s front door and pressed the door bell. He knows the password to her home but it is not polite to press on it and just go in like that.

The door opened. Ria must have seen him from the intercom device inside. She can see and tell whoever was out here.

“Ian.” Ria greeted with a smile although she wasn’t expecting to see him tonight. She opened the door wide for him to step into the house.

“I didn’t know you would still drop by.” Ria was dressed in a blue silk robe with her hair sitting as a loosed bun on her head.

“Sorry… I am late. I was busy at work. And I dropped by at the store before driving down here.” Ian was surprised to see that it was closed. The time was 9:00 p. m and RRC closes at 10:00 p. m.

“Ian, I had called to inform you that we would close early at the store today so you won’t bother driving to the place again but you weren’t picking up your calls. So I figured you were busy at work.” Ria replied.

“Ria, I told you that I forgot my phone at home this morning because I was rushing off to get to the office for an emergency meeting.” Ian reminded.

Ria placed her hand on her forehead. “Oh Ian… I totally forgot that you left your phone at your place.” She leaned in closely.

“Okay. And I am sorry for not driving you home today. It must been stressful for you to take a taxi.” He apologized.

“It is okay. Actually Ethan was at the store when we were about to close so he drove me home.”

Ian tensed up at her words. Now Ethan knows her home!

“What was he doing at the store? And why was he there with you?” Ian demanded.

Ria raised an eyebrow. “Nothing. He just dropped by to say hi and-”

“And so he drove you home.” He completed her intended statement.

“Yes.” She nodded.

Did she invite him for a drink? He wondered. He doesn’t like Ethan one bit.

“We need to talk, Ian.” Ria whispered.

Talk? What does she want to talk about? His heartbeats rapidly. Perhaps did she want to say that she is in love with Ethan? Or she was in love with him and now she want to work on loving him again? Did Ethan confess to her?! Series of questions flooded his mind at the moment. No, it couldn’t possibly be! Ria is not in love with Ethan; he is just an old friend. Ian stop over thinking! He cautioned himself.

“What is it?” Ian asked.

“Please take a seat while I get a drink for you.” Ria was almost leaving but he grabbed her upper arm and whirled her to face him. To hell with the drink! He was more concerned about what she has to say.

“I am fine.” He said.

“Are you sure?”

Ian shook his head. “Yes. Ria, I am fine.” He settled on the couch with Ria sitting close to him. “What’s wrong?” He grabbed her hands in his large ones and squeezed it gently.

“Today… Drake Robert came to the store.”

“What?!” Ian jaw dropped slightly. “Why was he at RRC? To buy a dress?” He questioned frantically.

“He came to see me.” Ria replied.

“Why?”

Ria explained Drake’s offer to him.

“Drake Robert had so much gut! He knows that my company is partnering with you. He is fully aware that Lint Corporation textile branch supplies RRC but he still went ahead to try to make an offer to you!” Ian grimaced in anger that he was trying so hard to hide from Ria.

And Ian doesn’t think this is just making an offer of supplying at lower prices. This is unlike Drake. He has always wanted the best part of a deal!

“You don’t have to worry about it. I am turning down his offer. I don’t need his company supplying me any materials.” Ria interlocked their hands.

Ian flashed back to the dinner party. He remembered how Drake had stared at Ria. He had sensed that Drake liked what he saw and he was swept off his feet by her beauty. And Drake even asked about Ria when she left. Ian knew that he didn’t say much to him other than emphasizing that Ria was his date. He had stated it clearly so Drake won’t get any idea in his silly head.

Could it be that Drake felt something for Ria too? And so he wants to use this chance to get close to her.

“I don’t trust Drake Robert. And I think he is up to something.” Ian said finally.

“You think so?”

Ian nodded. “Yes Ria. I feel Drake wants to get close to you.” And if that’s the case then how many men does Ian have to deal with just to have Ria? First, Ethan was in the picture and now Drake who came all the way from Idaho just to make a lame deal.

Ria rubbed his hands gently. “Ian.” She called.

“Don’t worry, I’ll talk to him and find out what he want from you.” He looked straight at her.

“No. Ian, it is not about -”

Ian cuts in sharply. “We can’t ignore him. And I don’t want him around you.” He sounded possessive.

“Ian-”

“Or do you want to accept his offer?” He interrupted her again.

“No!”

“Then I’ll talk to him. Let me be the one to deal with him.” Ian grounded out.

“He left his card.” Ria muttered.

“Call him up tomorrow and tell him you are not interested.” Ian instructed.

“I don’t have any plans to strike a deal with him.” Ria replied.

Ian decided that he would have to call Drake Robert tonight! He studied Ria’s expression and he noticed that it was as if she was working up courage to say what was on her mind.

Ian let go of her hand. “Are you okay?” His hand reached out to tilt her jaw to look straight at him.

Ria avoided making an eye contact. “Yes. Yes. I am.. am… fine, Ian.” She stuttered.

“Are you sure?”

Ria hummed a response.

“All right. I have to leave now.” Ian stood up and Ria did the same too. “I will give you a call when I get home. Bye.” He would have turned away from her but she called his name.

“Ian. Wait.” And Ria leaned forward silently and hugged him. “Thank you.” She said. The words coming out in a tight whisper.

Ian pulled her in closely and simply held her tightly. She was trembling and then he knew something was wrong! Ian closed his eyes tightly as he couldn’t figure out what it was! Or maybe she just wanted to thank him for everything. He mused.

Seeing her like this brought an ache to his soul but he was enduring it. Ria took in a ragged breathe. “I mean it. Thank you, Ian.” And Ian wanted nothing more than to take away her pain.

Her chin rested on bis chest. They were holding each other, and in that moment it was enough to just connect, to hold each other and be there for each other. Ian didn’t know how long they stayed just hugging before he held her back with his hands on her shoulders.

“You look perturbed. Is everything fine?” His hands lifted to frame her face as he noticed the way she swallowed hard to be able to speak again.

“Ian, I am fine.” She answered.

Ian glanced at her lips before their gazes met again. God! This woman was driving him crazy. And he knew he had to leave before he does something they would both regret tomorrow.

“Let us talk tomorrow.” Ian murmured.

Ria shook her head in agreement. “Good night.” She whispered.

Ian leaned in and placed a kiss on her forehead. “Sleep well.” He added.

Ian went out, closing the door quietly behind him. He kept thinking. And those thoughts went in confusing circles.

Ria walked off quickly back to her room and searched for her phone. When she found it on the dressing table, she dialed ma’am Elise number who picked on the second ring.

‘Hello’

‘Miss Ria.’

‘Ma’am Elise.’ Ria stiffed back tears. ‘Ian just left a while ago but I wasn’t… able to tell… him about it.’

Ma’am Elise sighed. ‘It is okay. I am sure with time you will be able to tell him everything.’

‘I don’t think so, Maam Elise.’

‘Why?’

‘I was so scared!’ Ria admitted.

Her world was upside down. Ria had only managed to survive the tightness in her throat when she was about telling him the truth. She had imagined Ian’s expressions after she told him she was Lucas’s sex pet. He got mad at her and left saying that she didn’t deserve to be with him. It was an imagination but it had looked real. If though she had imagined it, she doesn’t deserve a man like Ian Bryant.

‘Do you remember when I said you deserve the best?’ Ma’am Elise asked as if she had read her thoughts.

“Yes.’

‘It might be hard but I am sure Mr Ian will understand too.’ Ma’am Elise said.

Ria sniffled. ‘Ma’am Elise, can’t you tell him about it for me?’

‘No. If it was the best option I would have told him a long time ago. But mr Ian will understand better if it is coming from you.’ Ma’am Elise responded.

‘Okay. You are right.’ Ria muttered.

‘Don’t worry too much. For now just build up the courage to say the right words to him.’

‘Thank you, ma’am Elise.’ Ria murmured.

‘So did you tell him about Drake Robert?’ Ma’am Elise asked.

‘Yes. Ian thinks Drake has something up his sleeve too. He was angry. But we concluded that he would talk to Drake Robert.’ Ria answered.

‘That means Mr Ian doesn’t want you to partner with Drake Robert.’

“Yes. So I will call Drake tomorrow and turn down his offer.’

‘Okay. See you tomorrow.’ Ma’am Elise yawned loudly.

‘I am sorry for disturbing your sleep. Please have a good night rest.’ Ria apologized.

‘No. It is alright.’

The line dropped. Ria has to figure out what to do and how to say what she had to say. She got into bed and turned out the bed side lamp.

Chapter 84 Jealous Ian Bryant

Ian went in search of his phone immediately he walked into the room. He found it under the pillow. There was fifteen missed calls from Ria, his mom, and two elder sister plus two messages from Ria. She had sent the first message around 7:30 p. m.

‘Hi Ian, why aren’t you picking up your calls? You are busy at the office right? I will be closing early at the store today and Ethan offered to drive me home so you don’t have to come to the store. And I will understand if you decide to head straight home from work. Take care!’

Oh! She had informed him that Ethan would drive her home. Ian clicked on the second message that came in about ten minutes ago.

‘Are you home now?’

‘Yes.’ He replied.

The cellphone buzzed again. Ria is still awake.

‘Okay.’ She typed.

‘Still up?’

‘Yes, I wanted to be sure if you have gotten home before going to bed.’

‘I just came in not quite long. Thanks for waiting! And I saw the message you sent around 7:30 pm and the missed calls too.’

‘All right. Have a good rest, Ian. See you tomorrow.’ She added a drowsy emoji.

‘Yeah. Bye.’ Ian replied and no message came in from Ria again.

Ian dialed Ramsey’s number but he didn’t pick up. He needed Ramsey to forward Drake Robert’s number to him. His personal assistant had left the office by 6:00 p. m even before Ian finished his task around 8:30 p. m.

Ian tried it again and luckily Ramsey picked on the third ring.

‘Hello.’

‘Hello.’ He yawned out loud.

‘Ramsey, I apologize for calling at this time of-‘

‘Oh! Mr Ian!’ This time Ramsey’s voice was clear. He didn’t check the caller’s identity before picking up the call.

‘No sir. No sir. Thanks for calling. You don’t need to apologize. I wasn’t sleeping.’ Ramsey blabbed.

Ian sighed. ‘Relax Ramsey, I’ll-‘

‘I am calm. What do yo need sir?’

‘Did you go home with Lint tablet?’ Ian asked.

‘Yes sir.’

‘Good. I need Drake Robert contact.’

Lint Corporation tablet contains all of Ian’s schedules, meetings, contacts of business associates and some other things related to the corporation.

‘Yes, it is on the tablet.’ Ramsey replied.

‘Forward it to me.’

‘Okay sir. I will do that now. And any thing else?’

Ian was silent. Then he recalled Ethan drove Ria home today.

‘Call Ryan, tell him to hire a new driver for Ria.’ Ian instructed.

He doesn’t want Ethan driving Ria in his car. The new driver would drive her anytime he is busy at work.

‘Tell him to get a driver as soon as possible. That’s all for now.’ He added quickly.

‘Okay sir.’

Ian disconnected his call. The cellphone buzzed almost immediately. Ramsey sending Drake Robert’s number displayed on the screen. He walked into the bathroom and took a quick shower. He wore his pajamas and settled on the bed. He copied the number and pasted it to the call log.

‘Hello.’ Drake said clearly on the phone.

‘This is Ian Bryant.’

‘Oh! Ian Bryant! Wow! I knew you were going to call me as soon as Ria told you I dropped by at her store.’ It happened as he had predicted.

Ian clenched his free hand and balled it into a fist. ‘What do you want from Ria?’

Drake chuckled. ‘Nothing much. I just want to be her business partner. What do you think?’

Jealousy replaced Ian’s anger at the moment. There was more to Drake Robert wanting to be Ria’s business partner. He thought.

‘Just… a business partner?’ He frowned deeply.

‘Yes. Business partners. Or what are you thinking?’

Ian didn’t responded.

‘Oh!’ The single word was followed by a deep laughter from Drake which annoyed Ian even more. ‘Ian, you are still thinking that I am going to steal your date. Well, I must admit that Ria Robert is a beautiful woman and I get ideas in my head each time I set my eyes on her. Take for an instance, today when I met her it was hard for me to think clearly because it seemed like her beauty was casting a spell on me.’

‘So you are in Chicago because of Ria?’

‘Isn’t that obvious? The truth is I am drawn to that woman. No. I like Ria Robert.’ Drake confessed.

His words echoed in Ian’s head; I like Ria Robert. Ian fought the urge to throw the phone across the room. He knew it! That cunning son of a bitch wanted to get close to Ria because he liked her. He had sensed it that Drake felt something for Ria! He wanted to use this offer to win her heart. But Ian can’t let Drake win Ria’s heart! Even though Ria had decided that she won’t strike a deal with Drake, he still can’t sit back and accept things this way.

A man like Drake Robert would do all it takes to make Ria accept his offer and also win her heart in the process! “I can’t let it happen!” Ian said to himself.

‘You don’t need to think too much. I mean, you can stop me from getting close to your date.’ Drake emphasized the word date.

Ian hated to bargain with a cunning man like Drake Robert.

‘What do you want?’ Ian rubbed his forehead.

‘Ian Bryant, agree to my percentage of deal and I will stay away from Ria Robert.” Drake stated confidently.

‘No.’ Drake declined.

‘No?’ Drake was shocked by the sudden response.

‘You are offering too low in this deal. Drake Robert, forty percent and I will agree to sign that deal.’

‘No, let us make it thirty five percent.’ Drake bargained.

‘Thirty eight percent or no deal at all.’ Ian countered.

”Thirty seven.’ Drake said after some seconds of silence.

Ian was silent. If drake wants thirty seven percent then it is fine by him as long as he doesn’t come near Ria again.

“All right. Thirty seven percent and you will never go near Ria Robert or try to make any deal with her. Is that a deal?’ Ian stated clearly.

‘Ian Bryant, it will be deal when you sign the documents.’ Drake responded.

‘Bring it to my office tomorrow.’

‘What time?’ Drake asked.

‘8:30 a. m.’ Ian answered.

‘8:30 a. m. I will be there. But the deal to not meet Ria Robert will get canceled if I don’t see you by that time.’ Drake threatened.

‘I will instruct my personal assistant about our appointment. So I will be expecting you.” Ian gritted.

‘Good.’ Drake disconnected the call.

Ian seethed his teeth in anger. He swore that if Drake Robert ever gets close to Ria after he signed the deal then he would teach him a great lesson.

Chapter 85 Don of the prison

A warder came to the cell and gestured to man called Scorpion. He had a scary looking scar that ran across his face. He moved closer to the gate at the call of the warder.

“How is it?” The warder whispered.

“Don’t worry, I have a perfect plan man. But I just need the money to settle my boys.” Scorpion replied in a deep tone.

The warder gave him a brown envelope. Scorpion smiled at the bulkiness of the envelope and his smile grew broader when he looked into it.

“The boss wants you to do a perfect job and no mistake.” The warder warned him.

“He will be dead by noon.” Scorpion smirked.

“Good.” The warder was about leaving but scorpion whistled and he turned back at him.

“You haven’t told me who the boss is. I’ll like to get to know him.”

The warder frowned deeply. “You don’t need to know him. Scorpion, all you need to do is just get the job done.” He replied in a harsh tone.

“Okay.” Scorpion said with a deep frown on his expression too.

The warder walked away.

“Did he disclosed it?” An inmate asked.

“No, the so called boss is hidden.” Scorpion threw the envelope to another inmate. “Someone else is coming keep it safe!” He ordered when he heard footsteps approaching.

In a quick movement, the inmate kept it in a box under the bed. Another warder showed up at the entrance and opened the steel gate. The bell in the hallways jangled signifying that it was time to play out in the open field.

Scorpion winked at his men and they all filed out of the cell.

IN THE OPEN FIELD

Scorpion eyes searched the basketball court in the field hoping to find his target but he wasn’t there. “Where is he?” He asked his men.

“Look! That’s him over there! He is coming.” One of them pointed to a direction.

Speedy was laughing with his men. Scorpion was known to be the terror of Idaho prison. He is deadly and ruthless. History has it that he once worked with a mafia boss who got killed by a rival but he was framed for the death of his boss. Scorpion was feared by all the inmates except Speedy who once challenged him in a fight and he won.

After the fight, Speedy took away Scorpion’s title as Don of the Prison. Scorpion’s deep hatred for Speedy made him agree to the warder’s offer to kill speedy. He was desperate to be the Don of the prison again and make the inmates fear him and bow to him again.

“Now let us end this son of a bitch!” Scorpion muttered to his men.

“Yes boss.” They chorused.

Scorpion spat to the ground and thought of what to do to attract Speedy’s attention as he was now talking to some other inmates. He sighted an old man sitting alone on a bench.

“Come with me.” Scorpion instructed his goons.

They got to the old man and Scorpion ordered one of his men to hit him and he did.

The man groaned in pains. “What do you want from me?” He cried out.

Scorpio nodded at his goons and they started throwing punches at the old man. He tried to dodge the blows but he was too weak. His loud cries attracted Speedy’s attention and he watched scorpion’s men beating up an old mam.

Anger and fury surged through him and he called at his men too and immediately they followed him.

“Let the man go!” Speedy snarled.

Scorpion turned to look at him. His plan to lure Speedy to him had worked out fine. “This is none of your business! Stay out of it!” He snarled back.

Speedy stepped closer, standing face to face with his rival. “And don’t you ever get tired of bullying other inmates? You are an asshole, Scorpion!”

Everything changed the moment he said those words to him. Scorpion’s eyes glowed crimson and in no time his fist collided with Speedy’s jaw and a fight broke out between the gangs. Some inmates around watched but couldn’t get closer to them until they heard Speedy loud cry amidst the chaos.

He slowly dropped to the ground and they all ran helter skelter when they saw blood and heard the sounds of whistles in the air. Scorpion and his men ran away too and some of Speedy’s men.

“Speedy! Holy shit! Hang on.” His friend Matthew begged him. He placed his hands on Speedy stomach to stop the flow of blood.

Scorpion had stabbed Speedy with a dagger pushing it too deep into his stomach at the slightest chance he got when Speedy was about to take a blow for his friend.

“Call the medical team!” Matthew yelled at the warders. Some of them stood wondering how Speedy got stabbed when weapons wasn’t allowed in cells.

Matthew helped Speedy up gently when the medical team came around to take him to the infirmary in the institution.
