Chapter 86: See Each Other at a Distance

It doesn't occur to Ko Chen that Yu Fei comes out from her room. And he never thinks about that she lowers her head and glances over at him.
He knows exactly that Yu Fei can't see him at such a distance. But his heart still beats violently. He fixes his eyes on Yu Fei and is not willing to look away.
Tonight, from dozens of meters, one up in the building and another on the ground, the two seem to have each other in their eyes.
Yu Fei feels that the car near her house is so familiar. She can't wait. She turns over, puts the milk on the coffee table, takes her key and rushes out.
She presses the open button outside the elevator. The number changes at the same pace as usual. But Yu Fei feels it is way slower than usual. She is so anxious while waiting for the gate to open.
When she gets into the elevator, she again experiences the anxiousness of waiting. She stares at the red number and hopes it turns to 1 immediately.
Finally, she arrives on the first floor. She runs out with her hand holding her abdomen. She gets out of the building and breathes heavily. But she finds no car. Nothing is out there.
She looks awkward as beads of sweat creep out of her forehead and her hair sticks to her skin.
Yu Fei looks around and still can't find the black car she saw when she was on the upper floor. She doubts if she has hallucinations.
She turns down the idea immediately. It's impossible because she stared at the black car for a while when she was upstairs. If it was a hallucination, it wouldn't last so long. The only explanation is that the driver saw her leaving the window and knew she would come down, so he drove away.
Yu Fei comes down. She looks out. The previous idea that it is Ko Chen who drives the car is even stronger.
But Yu Fei doesn't understand why he suddenly appeared under her house and why he drove away secretly like a coward. This is not the kind of thing he will do. He is not that timid.
Yu Fei stands there for half an hour, chilled by the cold wind. Even though she doesn't see anything, she still wants to find something. After a while, she stops looking out.
Thinking about these questions, Yu Fei turns around and goes back to the building. She is absent-minded when she gets back to her apartment. That cup of milk cools down already. Both of her legs go weak all of a sudden. She sits down on the couch, leaning back with her eyes focusing on nothing.
The advertisement on the TV finishes and the drama plays again. The male protagonist happens to run to the female protagonist's house and apologizes. The two reconcile again and they kiss each other.
Yu Fei looks at the TV without blinking. And she keeps thinking about that black car she saw on the balcony. She hesitates for a while and finally musters up her courage trying to call Ko Chen. She unlocks her phone and finds Ko Chen's number.
Her finger remains above the screen and she stares at his name. She can't make up her mind to call him.
"Little dolt. Why would I come to you if I don't love you." Says the male protagonist on the TV.
His words catch Yu Fei's attention again. She looks at TV and seems to think about something. Her doubts are answered by that male protagonist.
"That's right. If Ko Chen doesn't love me anymore, why would he go all the way across half of the city to her house and drove away secretly?"
This makes sense. Yu Fei finally makes up her mind and touches the screen. It takes less than two seconds for her to dial that number. When she hears that "do do" sound on the phone, she is so nervous that she swallows.
It's been a while but nobody answers the phone. Yu Fei looks disappointed. She makes a bitter smile. She seems to have over-thought. If Ko Chen doesn't even answer her phone, how is it possible that he still loves her?
When she thinks that he is not going to pick up the phone and is about to hang up, Ko Chen answers the call. She hears his voice and some kind of noisy music through the phone.
"Hello?" Ko Chen's voice is cold. Even though he is in a noisy environment, his tongue is still cool, which makes people feel a sense of alienation.
The moment Yu Fei hears his voice, her words are stuck in her throat. She forgets what he planned to say and she doesn't speak a word even though she tries to.
Ko Chen waits for a while but doesn't hear her speaking. Then he is basically sure that she knows it was him who was in front of the apartment. He feels sorry for her for a second. But what he said is totally different from what he looks like. He asks without mercy: "What's the problem? You are too thirsty and wants a man?"
Yu Fei's face goes pale immediately. Her hands hold the phone so tightly that her fingers become pale and shake.
Ko Chen feels heart-broken. Even though he can't see her face, he knows how she looks like right now. When he thinks about her pitiful face, his heart seems to be grabbed by a hand and it hurts.
It takes Yu Fei a few minutes to process herself. She speaks and her voice seems to be produced from a rusty ironmongery: "Did you just...orge to my house?" It is hard for her to utter each of the words.
Hearing this, Ko Chen makes a sneer intentionally: "I came to your house? Yu Fei, I haven't seen you for a long time, do you have paranoia? How is it possible that I will go to see you? Is that because you miss me so much that you have a delusion?"
His every word is like a knife stabbing her heart unmercifully. Her heart is bleeding.
"What are you talking about?" Yu Fei asks. She can't believe he said these. It never occurs to her that she is so disgusting to Ko Chen. That abortion file destroys her three years' companionship.
Ko Chen's heart almost breaks when hearing her voice. He grabs the handrail of the couch very hard to stop himself from saying something to comfort her.
When Yu Fei tries to say something again, she hears a woman's voice through the phone: "Mr. Ko, who are you talking to? Come here, continue to drink with us."
The voice of that woman is so contrived that Yu Fei feels gross. She knows exactly where Ko Chen is right now.
She doesn't want to think further, so she hangs up in a great rush. She throws her phone away, buries herself in her arms and cries.
Ko Chen maintains the position of holding his phone. He hears the busy signal through the phone and he has no reaction to it.
The woman who just talked to him gets nearer to him. He smells her cheap fragrance. He puts down his phone and yells at her fiercely: "Fuck off!"
The woman is shocked. She can tell from his facial expression that he isn't joking. So, she stops smiling and walks away carefully.
Chapter 87: Yu Yu's Questions

And thus he is very attractive especially with his air of indifference, pride, and abstinence. The woman who is shouted back by Ko Chen originally thought that she had a chance to dig gold when she wasn't refused at once. But unexpectedly her dream was broken in the next second and now little does she dare to approach him. Ko Chen stands up from the booth and walks through the crowd. Looking steadily forward, he neglects the erotic impulse hidden in the darkness and strides out of the bar. After taking a deep breath, he slows down his pace and walks to the garage. Ko Chen doesn't immediately drive away when getting on the car. He feels that there is a bunch of cotton wool in his chest, which makes him difficult to breathe. So he opens the window and lights a cigarette, feeling the debauchery of this city at night. The smoke of the cigarette clouds his cool face. And the cigarette is only smoked once and then it burns to ashes little by little, which falls down by the car. The nicotine takes his annoyance away and then he drives home in a good mood.
It is already midnight when he returns home. The house is in silence with only one hall light on. The light might be particularly lit by Uncle Zhang who has found him not back yet. Ko Chen takes off the suit jacket and puts it on his arm and goes upstairs to his room. However, before he reaches the door, a shadow appears. He stops and stares at it, speaking in a cold voice, "Who's there?" It seems that the shadow falls asleep and is awakened by Ko Chen's voice with a shake. It raises its head slowly, which makes its clothes rustle. Ko Chen squints at it and doesn't expect to see a pale face: It is Yu Yu.
He is in a bad mood tonight and doesn't want to talk to her. With his eyebrows frowning, he speaks impatiently, "Why are you here? I've told you that you are not allowed to be here without my permission." Then Yu Yu stands up slowly. Since she hasn't recovered completely yet, she nearly falls down. In the darkness, she looks more horrible like a ghost in a horror movie.
"Chen..." With her hoarse voice echoing in the corridor, she stumbles towards Ko Chen. But Ko Chen doesn't have time to play this kind of silly trick. With a snap, the lights switch on and the corridor is filled with yellow light immediately. Her pale face is shown in the light. "Tell me what you want. I don't have time to guess what you are thinking about." Ko Chen almost loses his patience, looking at her coldly, which chills her quite a lot.
Seeing Ko Chen behaving like that, Yu Yu stops her steps, and her reddened eyes are filled with tears which almost tickle down. However, Yu Yu's poor look doesn't move Ko Chen at all. What's more, his expression is even more cold. She stares at Ko Chen tearfully. Moments flash in her brain when he treated her well and especially when he always spoke for her in front of Yu Fei, which makes her feel more grievous. She finally starts to howl.
But the woman's howl only pains Ko Chen's head. Messaging his temples, he glances at her impatiently and thinks that except for her evil heart, maybe the woman's brain doesn't function well. As a result, he chooses to ignore her and walks back to his room past her. He is already tiresome after hanging out with Tan Lin in the day.
When Ko Chen passes by, Yu Yu doesn't know where her courage comes from, and she reaches out her hands to drag his arms which are strong, muscular and masculine. "Are you... are you having affairs with another woman?" Yu Yu sobs and asks disjointedly. Ko Chen looks at Yu Yu surprisingly with his eyebrows raised. But unexpectedly, she looks back tearfully without fear.
Ko Chen feels it hilarious, because whether he has affairs with another woman or not is none of Yu Yu's business. Maybe it's because he has acted so well that Yu Yu really has regarded herself as a hostess in Ko House now. Since now there is nobody around, Ko Chen intends to break her daydream. He abruptly leans forwards Yu Yu with a charming smile.
She is scared by his sudden action and widens her eyes like a horrified rabbit. His voice is like demon's to her, "Yu Yu, you should be clear about what you are. Don't ask questions that you shouldn't ask." With his words her face becomes even whiter than a paper.
Her reaction satisfies Ko Chen. He wouldn't do so much with this kind of woman who has plotted against Yu Fei if he had another choice. Pulling her hands away, Ko Chen walks into the bedroom without even giving her a look. Then the door is closed. As for what she will do, Ko Chen doesn't care at all.
A bath takes away his tiredness. Then Ko Chen walks out of the bathroom with only a tower covering his private part. Out of his expectation, he sees Yu Yu sitting on his bed. Immediately he looks around and finds that he didn't lock his door after going into the room, for he didn't expect that Yu Yu would still come into his room after hearing such words. He stands in place in a grimmer manner. "Get out." His order is compelling. Drops of water slide on his back from his hair ends. Yu Yu does not react as if his words are not heard. She still sits on the bed with her head lowered. Half of her hair which originally is on her shoulders hides her side face which cannot be seen by Ko Chen now. Ko Chen knows it is her silent resistance.
Patience completely leaves Ko Chen and he picks up the telephone receiver, ready to call the bodyguards. However, his intention seems to be predicted by Yu Yu and she throws herself on him. She is so strong that Ko Chen who doesn't have preparations falls down on the floor.
Ko Chen is held tightly by Yu Yu who is more like like an octopus. She seems that she is determined not to let him go, no matter how hard he pushes her away. He roars at Yu Yu in a rage, "What the hell do you want?" Yu Yu raises her head and grins in a ghastly manner. Looking at the present Yu Yu, Ko Chen feels somehow terrified.
Chapter 88: The Fake or Real Mental Illness

Yu Fei hangs up the phone and throws it away, then she feels weak, with her brain going blank, unable to think. Since the last time she met Ko Chen in the restaurant, she has been trying to forget him. She even signed up for fetal education so that she could be busy and spare no time to think about this. The effort for so many days has be ruined easily by Ko Chen. He doesn't even need to speak, and just standing before her is enough to disturbs her mind. Painfully closing eyes, she couldn't help but imagine that young women with sexy clothes linger around Ko Chen. He doesn't have much expression but this makes those women more infatuated and get closer to him, and the brave girl may even touch his body. She can't think more. Yu Fei opens eyes and shakes her head, going into the bedroom and changing into pajamas, lying to read the book that she has not finished reading. The dense words on the book seem to wander around as if they were alive, but they fail to get into her eyes. She tries hard to widen her eyes to see clearly, but only to find that the words seem to have become the name of Ko Chen
Her hands loosen and the book falls onto the quilt. Yu Fei is stunned for two seconds, staring at the book with dull eyes. Suddenly a sad smile emerges on her face. She tries so hard but still can't wipe Ko Chen off her mind. She lowers her head and strokes her belly with her eyes turning red, soliloquizing to the baby: "How should I do..." No one can answer her, not the baby, not herself. Staring at the ceiling, Yu Fei is clear that it will be a sleepless night. After leaving Ko Chen, insomnia seems to become a routine for her. She wants to sleep but also fears to sleep for only in the dream can she see that gentle Ko Chen like before.
In the dark, the world lies silent. The evils hidden in the darkness of the day quietly creep out and act recklessly. In Ko's manor, Yu Yu has been entangling with Ko Chen. Ko Chen's anger has already reached its critical point. He raises a hand to hit her mercilessly without caring her unwell condition. "This time it's me who have sleeping pills, and next time, maybe it's Yu Fei." Yu Yu says it slowly with a cool voice, and this makes Ko Chen stop suddenly. He narrows his eyes and stares at her with threat and anger, as if to cut her into pieces. "What did you say?" Ko Chen asks in a low voice.
It seems that Yu Yu does not realize the coming danger, and she calmly looks at Ko Chen and clearly repeats her words, and even deliberately stresses "Yu Fei". Ko Chen's heart beats so fast that it takes him much effort to restrain the impulse to hit her. Fortunately, reason prevails before his anger erupts, and he hides all his emotions successfully and puts down his hand. "That's your business, not mine." Ko Chen's tone is very casual as if it is really nothing big.
His attitude confuses Yu Yu. She always doubts that Ko Chen treats Yu Fei that cruelly and he still has feeling for Yu Fei. So she said those words deliberately to test him, but the result does not conform to her imagination completely. They remain silent for a while. Ko Chen doesn't know the intention of Yu Yu and worries that she will hurt Yu Fei on impulse, so he decides to counter changes with changelessness to figure out her purpose. Yu Yu lowers her head in silence for a long while. From his angle, Ko Chen can only see the top of her head. The smell of her makes him a little uncomfortable, but he can endure everything for the sake of Yu Fei.
Suddenly, the hands on the waist loosen. Ko Chen is aware of Yu Yu's action, looking toward her. She retreats several steps and stands still, slowly raising her pale horrible face. "You will be mine."
After saying it firmly, she turns and goes out without looking at Ko Chen's reaction, and leaving Ko Chen alone in room confused. Ko Chen takes a bath again, and when he comes out, the sky is already faintly bright. He still has no intention to sleep, and especially when he thinks of Yu Yu's abnormal behavior, his head sobers up. After a careful consideration, Ko Chen decides to call Duan Qingfeng.

At beginning Duan Qingfeng listens without care, then he is aware that it's important, so he asks him seriously, "why do you think that?" Ko Chen tells him the whole thing that begins with Yu Yu's waiting for him at his door until she left.
Duan Qingfeng keeps silent for a while before he speaks: "The mental problem is not confirmed without diagnosis. Just as you said, maybe she deliberately fakes this to test you. Well, the next time I examine her, I will pay attention to check if she's crazy or not." With his words, Ko Chen is relieved and frankly hangs up the phone. Duan Qingfeng holds the phone and listens to the "doduo" sound in astonishment, stunned for several seconds and couldn't help but burst out a swear. The next day, Ko Chen works at home. Until noon, Duan Qingfeng finally arrives. Ko Chen has no time to say something else and asks him to check Yu Yu directly. Ko could see Ding Yi's face clearly until he approaches him, especially his blue eyes, which seem to be able to speak and seduce. With unskilled Chinese, Ding Yi reaches out his hand to Ko Chen, "Nice to meet you, Mr. Ko." Hearing that, Ko Chen is stupefied instead and asks Duan Qingfeng after glancing at Ding Yi, "we can watch the process?" Duan Qingfeng knows what Ko Chen is thinking about. He laughs and says slowly, "although some hypnotists say that the process can't be watched by outsiders, Ding Yi does the contrary. I asked him before. Uncle Zhang takes Ding Yi to Yu Yu's room and explains the situation according to Ko Chen's words. Ko and Duan keep their eyes on the surveillance video. Yu Yu seems to have not heard his words, and does not make any response. Her current state is like setting a barrier between her and the outside world, and she is indifferent to other things.
Recalling the information that Duan Qingfeng told him before, Ding thinks about it and decides to ask in a different way: "Mr. Ko said that he would come after work." The name "Mr. Ko" is like a thunderbolt, which suddenly wakes Yu Yu. She immediately raises her head and looks at Ding Yi with her eyes wide open. And then she says the first sentence: "what do you say?" Ding is relieved until Yu Yu is willing to talk to him. He thinks that it would be effective to mention Mr. Ko. However, he does not show anything on his face and just repeats the sentence just now.
Unexpectedly, Yu Yu is suddenly excited. She grabs the pillow behind her and throws it at Ding Yi in the next second. Fortunately, Ding Yi is quick to escape the attack. "You lie!" Her voice sounds hoarse and exhausted. The ferocious expression on her face makes her look a bit terrible. Ding Yi is still very calm, completely unaffected by Yu Yu's mood. His tone changes all of a sudden which becomes deeper and sounds so magnetic that she gets immersed in it unconsciously. Ko Chen has been watching the screen through the monitoring, and when he hears Ding Yi's voice he can't help being stunned for a moment, and only by Duan's knocking, does he slowly come to his senses. "Don't be too fascinated. Ding Yi is so amazing that even if he is not in front of you, you may be hypnotized by him." It is the first time for Ko to see a hypnotist in person. He didn't believe in Ding's novelty before, but now it seems that Ding Yi's strength is as powerful as Duan Qingfeng said. It's just that sentence that almost makes him lose his mind. In the room, Yu Yu's eyes unconsciously move with the shaking pocket watch and gradually lose the focus.
Chapter 90: Hypnotizing (Ⅱ)

Ding Yi speaks suddenly. His voice echoes in the room, making it more mysterious.
Yu Yu opens her mouth unconsciously. Her tongue is flat like a robot. She answers: "My name is Yu Yu."
Ko Chen stares at the screen in surprise. Although he is not in that room, he lowers his voice and asks Duan Tsing Fong in a low voice: "Did he start to hypnotize her?" Duan Tsing Fong nods and gives him a hint that he should not speak and just look at what is going to happen.
Ko Chen holds his breath and fixes his eyes on the screen again.
Ding Yi stares at Yu Yu all the time. He notices that her eyes lose focus. Her face has no expression. Her eyes are open, otherwise she looks as if she has passes out.
"Tell me, what do you see?" Ding Yi takes back his pocket watch and helps Yu Yu sit down on her bed. His move is very gentle and he doesn't alert her.
Yu Yu doesn't answer immediately. She remains silent for a few seconds and seems to take a good look at the scene in front of her. Then she describes slowly: "Crowd. I see a lot of people." "Who are these people? What are they doing?"
Yu Yu answers more quickly than last time: "They are in suits and gowns. They are communicating. It seems that they are at some kind of wine party."
She frowns when saying the last sentence. She is not so sure about it.
Ding Yi praises her and tries to let her talk about Ko Chen: "Now who do you see first in the crowd?"
This is a difficult question for Yu Yu. There are two many people in front of her and she can't see their faces clearly. Their faces are familiar but so vague that she can't come up with their names.
There is a man in smokey grey suit especially. Though he has his back towards her, Yu Yu can't help but look at him and it's hard for her to look away.
"A man in smokey grey suit."
Hearing that it is a man, Ding Yi knows that the man is most likely to be Ko Chen. So, he asks again: "What does he look like?"
Yu Yu shakes her head, looking embarrassed: "I can't see his face."
"No problem. Just walk closer to him and you can see his face."
Yu Yu obeys Ding Yi like a good girl. The man becomes clearer to her but he is still in shadow. She stops walking when she is ten meters away from him. She doesn't know why she stops. Her intuition tells her not to draw nearer. Ding Yi is not anxious when she doesn't answer him. In fact, he keeps guessing what she sees according to her facial expressions. When she frowns and looks hesitant, Ding Yi knows that she "stops".
One more step. Just take one more step and then she can see Ko Chen.
Ding Yi keeps pushing her: "Don't stop. Step forward. See, he is not moving. He is waiting for you."
"Really?" Yu Yu doubts it. But she still steps forward as he told her. The man's face becomes even clearer just as his voice told her. When she sees the man's face, she is so surprised that she freezes and opens her eyes wide. "Ko Chen?"
Yu Yu cries out.

As soon as the door closes, Yu Yu grabs the pillow at hand and throws it to the door hard.
Through the screen, Ko Chen and Duan Tsing Fong can see clearly the cruelty and viciousness on her face. This is not the kind of facial expression that women of her age will show.
