Chapter 261: Pissed

Christina blinked her eyes in bafflement but soon composed herself when she realized that she had been wasting their time.

Bobbing her head in understanding Christina finished the introduction part and soon began the class.

Since both Ashley and Riel were new to acting she made sure to introduce them to the basics first. Giving them a few dialogues, she asked them to speak and worked according to it.

Before accepting Ashley, she had seen her commercial that was released just a week ago and Christina was quite impressed with her screen presence. The only thing that made her hesitate was her voice.

In the commercial, Ashley’s voice was dubbed, but the movie she was selected for required a strong vocal to deliver power pack dialogues.

Ashley looked at the dialogues, Christina provided her with and went through them. They weren’t long but still required deep emotions.

Biting her lower lip, Ashley was thinking about how she could convey her emotions through the dialogue when she heard someone speak next to her.

"Do you need any help" Riel who stood by her side whispered.

"No thanks" came her blunt reply.

Ashley tried to ignore his presence, but the man wasn’t ready to give her any space. If she had known Riel was to going to join them, she would have asked for another slot.

Pulling her attention from the paper in her hand, she turned to the man and asked," What are you doing here?" her tone cold as ice and her eyes showing no emotions in them.

Riel studied her expression and heaved out a chuckle before answering," I can ask you the same. What are you doing here Ashley?"

He tried to read her thoughts and came to confirm that she wasn’t aware of them being paired for the movie. She wasn’t to be blamed as the casting was yet to be disclosed to the fellow team.

Riel’s lips curled up into a playful grin when he thought of the day she will find that they both were paired.

Ashley’s face crumpled watching him smile at her. Clutching the paper in her hand she quickly averted her eyes from him. If she kept looking at him even a second further she would’ve definitely punched him.

Amused with her reaction Riel decided to her be and focus on the class instead. Moving his attention away from her, they continued to go through the dialogue.

After dropping Alice to the studio, Noah drove to his company. Agreeing with Alice’s words he decided to ignore Natalie.

Stopping his car right in front of the company, Noah stepped out and marched inside the building.

The moment he stepped inside the elevator, his phone began to ring. Expecting it to be Alice, he quickly pulled out his phone but frown looking at the unknown number.

Staring at the screen for some time, he swiped the answer button and answered. "Hello"

"..."

Noah knitted his brows when the person on the other side didn’t answer. Pulling the phone away, he saw the call was still connected and he asked again," Hello, who’s this?"

Waiting anxiously for the person to speak, his eyes looked ahead at the screen. When the person still didn’t answer, he pulled away his phone to end the call when he heard a familiar voice and he froze.

"Noah..."

Natalie’s sensual voice caught him off guard and the phone in his hand fell down.

THUD...

Noah wasn’t expecting Natalie to get his number and she would somehow end up calling him. While his mind was still trying to grasp everything, the door of the elevator slid open and his trance broke.

Running his palm over his face Noah scrunched his nose and bent down picking up the phone and ended the call in haste before he walked out of the elevator in rush.

Taking a long stride, Noah stepped inside his cabin and rushed towards his table. He was still in the process of how the girl managed to get his personal number and even dare to call him.

Resting his palm on the table he dropped his head down until he finally calmed down and lift his head.

Even after him warning her, she still dare to contact him and that pissed him really bad.

Straightening up, Noah looked at his phone and checked the number she called him from. Taping onto the block button, he decided to blacklist the number.

Something about Natalie seemed off to him. The way, she was trying to get close to him said that it would be hard for him to neglect the girl for long. He could see the desperation in her actions which didn’t look like it came recently after their meeting, but it rather looked like she had been trying to pursue him for a long time.

Walking around the table, he pulled his chair and settled down.

Pinching the bridge of his nose, Noah recalled the moment he first met Natalie. She was with one of his friends at that time. But even after having a partner at that time, she still had her eyes on him.

At first, he tried to ignore her but when she tried to get close to him, he then learned about her intentions and ended up distancing himself from her.

Every time he would see her in the club, Noah would end up retreating out from there. Many nights went by him walking out whenever he was informed about her arrival until one day she stopped coming and he found out about her breaking up with his friend.

Recalling the past incident, Noah was now able to understand why she was again trying to get closer to him. Natalie still carried the same intentions and now she had a reason to lurk around him because she found that he was the same man who spend time with her in the club.

"God... what have I landed myself into" Noah fell back in defeat on the backrest of the chair, stunned by the realization.

Chapter 262: See you

The acting class ended with Christina getting highly impressed by both Ashley and Riel. She had her doubts but now she was convinced that her decision of coaching them wasn’t wrong.

"I must say that you both surprised me, especially you Ashley," Christina said looking at Ashley.

When Finn asked her to get Ashley under her guidance, she was a little skeptical. The past scandals about the girl had already tarnished her image and she didn’t want the same thing to happen to her.

But now with these two hours of training, she came to see Ashley wasn’t like the one she was portrayed to be. It was all the false rumors that circled around her name just to defame her.

"Thank you"

Ashley was thankful that even after making a few mistakes, she was able to pull off the act. Yes, she was anxious in the beginning but after understanding the situation she was able to clear the hurdle.

Passing her a polite smile Christina then turned her eyes to Riel." And you Riel, you weren’t that bad either but you still need to work on your expression. You can’t go on keeping a straight face" she stated.

Riel scratched the back of his neck and pursed his lips. If only they knew who he was and from where he belonged, Christina wouldn’t have been standing here next to him.

"I will improve myself, Christina," he said accepting all her words.

Now that he had stepped into this situation, Gabriel couldn’t turn his back. If he has to get back to Tristan, he first has to befriend his wife and for that, he had to stick to her.

After having a few talks both Ashley and Riel left the academy.

The moment Ashley stepped out, she fastened her pace motioning Miley with her eyes and they quickly walked through the corridor, heading straight towards the elevator.

She didn’t want to associate with Riel and it was better if she quickly get away from there.

The second the door of the elevator slide opened, Ashley, stepped in along with Miley and was about to press the close button when Riel stepped in along with his manager.

"You seem to be in hurry" eyeing her playfully he said.

Ashley rolled her eyes in annoyance and took a step to the right, next to Miley. She thought he would be able to make it and she would easily sneak away but she was wrong. The man didn’t leave a chance to annoy her.

Max was disguised as Riel’s assistant, found it quite amusing to see his boss interacting with Ashley so calmly. Turning his eyes away from them he pressed the button and the lift soon rode down.

Ashley kept her eyes ahead, ignoring the man standing next to her. Silently praying that they would soon reach down and she would just walk away from him.

"You were amazing today" her body stiffened when she heard Riel’s voice next to her ear.

Snapping her head around she gave him a warning look and he moved back, straightening up. The smile on his face stretched even more as he watched her frown at him.

Ashley’s eyes threw daggers at him. She wanted to know if she had committed any sin for him to come a pester her for nothing. The way he kept bothering her was now wrecking her nerves and she wasn’t able to keep herself calm.

Heaving out a sigh, Ashley was about to question him when the elevator sound echoed and the door opened.

"See you tomorrow" she heard him smile at her and he stepped out with his manager leaving them behind and walked away from there.

Gnashing her teeth in anger Ashley stormed out of the elevator with Miley tailing behind.

The moment they stepped out of the academy building, Jack quickly straightened up watching them. His eyes brightened at the sight of Miley but when he looked to her side, Ashley’s disturbed faced came to his view and he creased.

’What happened to her’ he thought but soon composed his doubts and opened the car’s door for them.

Once the ladies hopped in he then walked towards the driver seat but before he could climb in, he saw a car drive past them. Though the car drove quickly he didn’t forget to see a man who had his eyes on them.

Falling into a thought Jack stared at the retreating car briefly, he then climbed into the car and they drove away.

Inside the retreating car, Gabriel turned his eyes from the road and looked ahead with plain eyes.

"Tristan seems to have his men follow his wife everywhere" Max too noticed a new guard with Ashley and said.

"He is just being cautious because he knew his one negligence will land him in big trouble" Gabriel didn’t care how many people were protecting Ashley. For now, he only had to keep his revenge aside and focus on getting close to her.

He had to gain her trust first, letting her see through her man’s wrongdoing and let her know how because of Tristan, he lost the most precious person of his life.

Max saw the change in Gabriel’s face through the rare mirror and pursed his lips. He didn’t say anything further and focused on the drive.

Tristan finished the meetings and stepped into his cabin. Taking his seat, he was about to call Ashley but instead, she called him in return.

Flashing his charming smile, Tristan quickly answered the call," I was about to call you" he said but when she didn’t quickly answer back, he frown.

"Ash" he called her name and heard her sigh.

Closing his eyes in relief, he asked," What happened?"

"Nothing, I just wanted to listen to you" came her reply.

Tristan senses the tiredness in her voice and said," Turn the speak on"

Listening to his words, she turned the speaker on and heard him say," Jack drive Ashley to the company" he instructed.

"Yes, boss" Jack answered and took another turn that lead them to Skylar’s corps.

In ten minutes, their car stood in front of the tall building and Ashley stepped out. Standing in front of the private elevator, Ashley waited for the lift to reach down.

The second the lift opened her eyes widen in shock to see Tristan standing inside. Before she could react, Tristan pulled her inside and pressed the lift button.

Pinning her on the wall, Tristan captured her lips desperately and kissed her. The moment she expressed her desire to listen to him, he couldn’t hold himself back.

Ashley was his weakness and anything that bothered her would eventually bother him.

Resting her palm on his chest Ashley deepened the kiss, giving in to the same desperation.

Chapter 263: Finding the truth

Savoring each other for some seconds, Tristan finally pulled. His dark eyes bored into hers as he watched her pant.

"Better," he asked tracing his thumb from her slightly swollen lips.

Flustered, she lowered her head and nodded. Amused by her reaction, Tristan turned around holding her hand, and watched the lift’s door opening.

Stepping out, Tristan took her to his cabin ignoring the surprised eyes. It wasn’t the first time, his employees saw Ashley stepping into the office but what startled them more was his behavior around her.

The man was like a ticking bomb, giving them deadlines but for her, he was entirely a different person. Gentle and generous, protecting her like a doll.

Entering in, Tristan guided her to his private room. Shutting the door close he then turned to look at her and asked," Tell me what is bothering you" he didn’t beat around the bush and inquired.

Startled by his reaction, Ashley looked at him surprisingly. Blinking her eyes for a few seconds she composed herself and said, "Why would you think, something is bothering me"

Her words made him cross his hand over his chest and he stared at her giving her are you kidding me look.

Understanding his glare, Ashley realized that there was nothing she could hide from him. Even if she didn’t voice it loud he would be able to guess it anyways.

"Ahem... I-I was just missing you, that’s why I wanted to hear your voice" she lied keeping a straight face, hoping he would believe her.

Observing Ashley for a while, Tristan dropped his hand and took a step closer to her."Don’t lie to me" he said. His eyes darkened as he tried to read through her actions.

Ignoring his penetrating gaze Ashley looked around," Why would I lie?" she mumbled and wrapped her arms around his torso, leaning her face against his chest.

It was her fault for getting irked by Riel. She kept telling herself to change her habit and neglect a few things without letting them appear on her face but it was very hard to hide it from Tristan.

Finding her still hesitant to speak, Tristan didn’t force her further. Wrapping his arms around he embraced her for some time before they pulled away.

Looking at her for a while, Tristan then lift her in his arms and carried her to bed. Helping her sit on his lap, Tristan pinched her cheeks lovingly.

"Tell me, how was your first day? Did you enjoy it" he asked, changing the topic.

"It was quite fun. I did make some mistakes but my coach was generous enough to guide me" she answered.

Ashley went on to tell him everything that happened in the class and how she was able to deliver her dialogues correctly, impressing Christina in the process.

Tristan kept listening to her watching her face show so many expressions as she dictated to him like an excited kid.

He was happy that Ashley was enjoying her time learning and improving herself.

Spending some time with Tristan, Ashley bid goodbye letting Tristan resume back his work.

Once Ashley left, Tristan walked toward the table and pulled out his phone. He then read the text, Jack send him and his eyes darkened the next instant.

Quickly making a call to Sky, he asked him to inquire about the car, Jack had mentioned.

"Okay boss I will right away get you the details" Sky answered and hung up the call.

After some time, he received a call from Sky." Boss the car belongs to Lucas Scott and the one who was using it is his nephew Riel Scott"

Tristan raised his brow instinctively after he heard Sky’s words. "Do you have any image of the person?" he asked.

"No boss, the identity of that man is been hidden but-" he paused.

"But what?"

"We can check the CCTV footage near Madam’s academy" he suggested.

"Okay, be quick" giving him the nod Tristan once again hung up the call.

Tristan used every means to find the man Lucas had introduced as his nephew but found no record. His curiosity increased when he found that Riel was also one of the co-actor, with whom Ashley was supposed to work.

While Tristan was busy in his thoughts, someone knocked on his cabin’s door." May I come in boss" Karl’s frantic voice came from the other side.

"Yes" getting his permission Karl stepped in rush.

"Boss you need to see this," he said, quickly walking towards his desk and playing the video Sky delivered him.

"It’s Gabriel"

Tristan’s eyes darkened watching the entire footage. Though it wasn’t that clear but their eagle-like eye couldn’t get wrong.

"He had been keeping a tab on the lady boss’s schedule for a long time. Even for the movie Lucas personally held a meeting with Bernard Franklin and urge him to give his so-called nephew a chance"

Tristan’s eyes turned cold as he clench his teeth in fury. Karl standing next to him felt the air turn chilly all of sudden.

"We need to do something boss. Gabriel being around lady boss isn’t a good omen" his eyes stared at Tristan in concern.

Tristan tried to grasp Karl’s every word. He already had his doubt about something like this happening but he was too late to find it. If not for his instinct, he wouldn’t have asked his men to search for Gabriel all over the country S.

They had barely escaped from their clutches but now when Tristan has finally found him how about they played along?

"No need to take any action against him, for now..." Tristan’s calm tone made Karl frown and he looked at him in shock.

They had been trying to track Gabriel for so long and now when he was finally in front of them why was Tristan so calm?

Moving his gaze from the video clip, Tristan passed Karl an assuring smile. Karl was now getting more confused with his composed reaction.

"Let him be in this delusion that we aren’t aware of him being The Riel Scott. If I am not wrong, Gabriel wouldn’t harm Ashley until he gains her friendship," he said and then moved his gaze away from Karl and stared ahead.

"And I am confident that he needs to work way too hard to get into Ashley’s good books" his lips curled up into a mocking smirk.

"Then does it mean we are only to watch him lurk around lady boss and wait for the right time," Karl asked with little hesitation.

Chapter 264: She called me today

Karl was surprised to see Tristan so calm. But he didn’t ask him any further and followed his order.

He knew there must be a reason why Tristan wasn’t taking action against Gabriel and would be better for them to see what the man has in store.

Giving him a nod, Karl left Tristan’s cabin.

Tristan then dialed Jack’s number and told him to keep an eye on the man named Riel.

Tristan just had to be patient with his enemy. Now that he had finally found him, shouldn’t he also play with him for a bit?

"We will meet soon Gab-, oops!.. Riel. I am looking forward to seeing your reaction" he smirked with an evil grin.

Jack dropped Miley at the Agency and drove Ashley to the knight mansion. Entering the house, Ashley saw Grace and Trevor having an argument over something and she quickly stepped forwards asking.

"What’s wrong mom, dad? Why are you both arguing?"

Both Grace and Trevor stopped their heated conversation and snapped their head in Ashley’s direction.

Grace shot a glare at Trevor asking him shut his mouth and she then stretched a smile to Ashley.

"Argue?... Who is arguing here? We both were just having a normal couple fight" Grace dodged her question but she wasn’t able to convince Ashley.

She had heard them quarrel, then why wasn’t trying to cover it up?

Ashley stared at Grace for some time and then over her attention on Trevor." Dad, what is it?" she asked with a serious tone.

Trevor’s lips twitch and he looked at Grace who had turned her head back, giving him a don’t open your mouth look, and chuckled.

"It’s nothing, isn’t it honey"

Dumbfound for a while, Trevor then understood the hidden meaning behind her stare and bobbed his head vigorously.

"Yes, it’s nothing like what you are thinking Ashley"

Keeping quiet for some time, Ashley then hummed and turned around to leave. She knew there is no way she would force them to speak, but she was sent percent sure that these two oldies were trying to hide something from her.

Back in Skylar Corps, Gwen was busy working inside her cabin when she saw Karl return early than she assumed.

"That was quick?" she said with her eyes raising in his way while her fingers were busy typing on the keyboard.

"Hmm..." he hummed taking the seat.

Sensing the distraction in his tone, Gwen stopped her work and swirled her chair before standing up and heading to his desk that was right next to hers.

"What happened?" she asked reaching her hand to tuck his small locks.

Heaving out a shaky breath, Karl closed his eyes and held her hand that rested on his hair. Clapping it with his hands he looked at her and said," Gabriel, he succeeded in getting closer to lady boss"

Gwen’s eyes grew larger when she heard him." How? And why aren’t we doing anything about it?" she asked. A gleam of panic surged in her tone.

Karl didn’t hold back and told her everything. Gwen was in denial for some time as she tried to grasp his word. She didn’t know Gabriel was such a quick-witted man. It was them who underestimated him.

Pulling the chair for herself, she sat next to him. Her hand was still in his clasp. She could tell he was cursing himself for being this slow. But it wasn’t his fault that Gabriel managed to get close to Ashley.

"He managed to mislead our men Gwen. If not I would have caught hold of him" Karl mumbled gnashing his teeth in fury. For the very first time, he failed to get details regarding his target doubting his skills.

Gwen pursed her lips, staring sadly at him.

Noah finished up his work and drove to pick Alice up from the studio. The entire day he kept thinking about Natalie’s call. Though he blocked her number still, he couldn’t erase the fact that she even managed to get hold of his personal contact.

Soon reaching the studio, he climbed down the car and walked inside the tall building.

Alice had just returned from the photoshoot and was currently resting on his twirling chair when suddenly the door to her room opened and she snapped startled from her nape in jerk.

"Noah!" she was surprised to see him so early. There was still some time left for his office hours to get over, but here he was earlier than ever.

Noah’s anxiousness vanished the second his eyes fell on her face and he halt his steps near the door.

Her eyes narrowed when he didn’t respond to her and she quickly got up from the chair and walked towards him.

"Noah Wayne, what are you doing here so early," she asked. Her eyes pierced him in questioning.

Snapping out of his trace, Noah blinked his eyes, grasping her words, and instead of answering her, he pulled her in for a hug.

Surprised by his reflex, Alice took some time to settle and slowly relaxed as she hugged him back.

"I missed you" she heard him say after a long pause making her calm a little.

She liked the way Noah kept clinging to her, without shutting his mouth for even a second, and just finding him returning to his normal self softened her heart.

"Hmm..."

After a long hug, they finally pulled back, with Noah staring at Alice as if he was trying to capture every minor detail of her face into his mind.

"I love you" he mumbled under his breath making her blush.

"Why so romantic all of sudden?" she asked wrapping her arms around his shoulder and they both walked deeper inside the cabin.

Noah arched his brow looking at her and said," All of sudden? Babe, it’s always me who is romantic. You don’t even entertain me" he complained.

Alice pursed her lip into a thin line. Yes, it was always him who was clingy and took initiative in the relationship, while she would further take the rein in her hand leading ahead.

"Okay now don’t start complaining." averting her eyes from his playful one, she then asked him to take a seat on the couch. She had a few things to finish before they could leave.

While Alice resume her work, reviewing the photo’s, Noah kept his eyes on her. His was confused on whether he should tell Alice about Natalie’s phone call or he should just keep it by himself.

After a lot thinking he finally opened his mouth and spoke," Natalia, she called me today" his deep serious voice drew Alice attention from her to his direction and she stared him in shock.

Chapter 265: Same man

"How did she find your number?" she asked as she frown.

Natalie dared to spy on Noah to the extent that she even managed to find his number. ’How desperate’ she sneered mentally.

Noah observed Alice’s face turn ugly as she absentmindedly stared ahead of her. He could guess she was mentally cursing Natalie for being this determined.

"I don’t know but one thing is confirmed. Someone is helping her and we soon need to find that person" Noah sneered. There was no way, Natalie would reach him so soon until she was helped and now he had to find that person.

Evening

Tristan returned to the knight’s mansion. The moment he stepped out of the car Jack who was waiting for his arrival quickly approached him.

"Boss" Jack bowed in respect and watched Tristan slightly nod his head and they stepped inside the mansion heading straight to his study.

Tristan had a few things to discuss with him since Jack was the one who was guarding his wife. Her security was something he couldn’t neglect when Gabriel was already lurking around her.

There was something about Jack that made Tristan trust him with his wife’s safety and he could tell that the boy would never disappoint him.

Yes, Jack was young but Tristan saw his reflection in him. Just like him, even Jack had that stubbornness to test his limits. And that was enough for Tristan to blindly put his faith in him.

"Have a seat Jack" Tristan pointed at the couch and asked Jack seat.

Once they both settle in their respective place, Tristan then pushed a folder in front of him.

"This was the man whose car you saw outside the academy" Jack looked at the pictures. His brows instantly deepened and he raised his head staring at Tristan in shock.

"This man, he was the one who helped my previous master to get back to you" Jack blunt out.

He had seen Gabriel come to meet Deuces his previous master. Back then he was under Marcus and would tag along with him everywhere which mean he also had a pass to enter in boss’s secret room.

There was no way, he would get wrong in recalling his face.

Tristan’s face turned hard listening to his words. "Are you sure he is the same person," he asked, Tristan’s tone a little cold and indifferent.

"Yes boss, I was present when the meeting was held" he further stated.

Jack would never forget the person he met so closely. He was confident he was the same man in the photo.

Tristan’s eyes darkened at his confirmation and he demanded an explanation from Jack.

Flashback

Jack returned to the cell after he finished the work given by his second boss Marcus. The day he was picked as one of the comrades who will work along with Marcus, Jack had been tagging him everywhere.

Every possible detail regarding the clan was discussed with him present along with the head.

That evening when he returned after training the members, Marcus asked him to reach the main entrance of the hideouts. At first, he couldn’t understand why Marcus called him but then after reaching there, he found that they had a guest arriving.

After about ten minutes finally, a car stopped at the entrance of the hideout building and a man with emerald eyes stepped out along with his men.

Marcus was the first one to greet the man and his subordinate and soon they guided them to the main office where Deuces was already waiting for his arrival.

It was then Jack found that the man name Gabriel and Deuces were aiming at Tristan Knight, the leader of Jaguar one of the most powerful clans of country X.

Gabriel offered a deal to Deuces for which he would help him revive their footing in the underworld.

Deuces held a tremendous grudge against Tristan knight quickly joined his hand with Gabriel and they soon started plotting numerous revenge strategies against the Supreme leader.

Present

Jack felt the temperature of the room drop all of a sudden and he raised his head only to find Tristan’s cold expression. His eyes looked blankly ahead, while he sat on his seat with his legs crossed giving him the King’s vibes.

No one could tell what the man was thinking but the way his aura emitted deadly vibes, Jack could only feel goosebumps all over his body.

Moving a little on his seat Jack, rubbed his palm anxiously. The air inside the room was kind of suffocating, making him feel uneasy.

"You need to keep a thorough eye on that man. He is our enemy" Tristan said after a long dead silence making Jack flinch in his seat.

"Y-yes boss" Jack answered quickly composing his startled expression.

Taking the folder along Jack stepped out of the study. His heart was beating vividly inside his chest as he tried to relax. His boss was like a grim reaper and it was hard to stand in the same space when you are witnessing the deadpan aura.

Taking a few deep breaths, Jack adjusted his appearance and walked through the corridor when he heard a familiar voice call him.

Halting his steps, Jack looked to the side and saw Ashley walking toward him. Standing in front of him she darted her eyes from his shoulder and looked in Tristan’s study direction.

’When did Tristan return and why didn’t he inform her’ she thought pulling her eyes away and looked back at Jack.

"Do leave, have dinner with us" she said masking her displeasure look.

Jack opened his mouth to speak when he heard another voice from behind," Yes Jack, have dinner with us" Tristan who had stepped out of the study heard Ashley’s words said.

Walking towards them Tristan stood next to Ashley giving her a smile and then turned to look at Jack, giving him an assuring look.

Heaving out a deep breath, Jack bobbed his head agreeing to their request, and joined them for dinner.

Once the dinner was done Jack left while Ashley and Tristan returned to their bedroom.

As soon as they stepped in Ashley asked," You didn’t inform me about your arrival" her tone carried a glint of disappointment.

Tristan paused for a second before he turned to face her and sighed. He didn’t think Ashley would come to meet Jack on his way out from the study.

Taking a step toward her he held her arm while using his right hand to cup her face." I didn’t want to disturb you." he said and watched her frown.
