Chapter 291: She was helping her

Alice gulped when Noah inched closer to her lips and was about to kiss her when suddenly his phone rang.

Snapping out of her trance Alice moved back. She felt her cheeks heating up and what’s more, she was embarrassed as hell.

Groaning at the interrupted kiss, Noah picked up the call ready to yell at the person.

"Boss" hearing Sky’s voice Noah’s anger dissipated.

"Yes, Sky any update" normalizing his tone Noah asked.

At the mention of Sky’s name, Alice found herself withdrawing from her thoughts and she quickly looked at Noah. She knew Sky was working for Noah on Tristan’s orders and if he attempts to call them it means he had something important to inform them about.

"Turn on the speaker" Alice whispered and Noah quickly turned the call on the speaker.

"You were right boss. It’s miss Avera who is secretly helping Natalie but she has no hand in the accident it was solely planned by Natalie herself."

Noah clutched the cell phone in his hand, ready to crumble it due to the rage that was building inside his body. So his assumption was right and it was hard to find the reason behind it.

She wanted to avenge Alice and him for targeting Dylan and she was using Natalie this time.

"I should have seen this coming" Noah muttered gnashing his teeth in fury.

"What else did you find" he further asked.

Sky started dictating everything. The cell phone he caught hold of contained the chats between the man and Natalie and it was enough proof against the culprit.

"I want you to send me the recordings and wait for my next orders" Noah ended the call and heaved out a sigh. He wanted to vent his anger but stopped when he realized he wasn’t the only one inside the room.

"Alice" he mumbled and turned around. Alice sat there without uttering a word as if she was trying to grasp everything she heard from Sky.

Noah felt his heart torn apart when she moved her teary eyes on him. Those unshed tears were like a dagger to his heart and he hated to see her cry.

"Why everyone hates me Noah" her lips trembled as she spoke. She thought Avera was a sensible girl who knew about good and bad but how did she forget about the blind love she had for Dylan?

"Is it all because of Dylan she is getting back on me?" she asked.

"And what about Natalie? Where did this girl come from and why is she so adamant to erase me from her path" she babbled absentmindedly without realizing that her words were making Noah feel guilty.

Yes, It was all because of him. If they had not targeted Dylan financially, Avera wouldn’t have held a grudge against them. And for Natalie, that girl was never in the picture because he never saw her as a threat. But he was wrong.

"I am sorry" Noah’s words froze her the very moment. She didn’t realize what she had been blabbering, forgetting that her words might hurt Noah’s sentiments.

Snapping out of her thoughts, Alice turned to face Noah. A lump formed in her throat when she watched his bloodshot eyes stare back at her.

Alice parted her lips to speak but before a word could escape her mouth, she was pulled for a bone-crushing hug.

"You don’t have to feel sorry Alice. I know it’s all my fault and I promise to mend everything. Those who are trying to harm you will have to face my wrath. I am not going to anyone and that’s my promise to you" Noah meant everything he said. It wasn’t an impulsive act but a declaration.

Alice didn’t say a word and just let him embrace her. She had stopped crying and the negative thoughts in her mind vanished. She felt safe.

Noah was the only person who would make her see the good side of life and she ended up hurting him with her insensible words.

Pulling away from his embrace, Alice stared into his deep eyes and found herself getting lost in them. Before she could understand, she slowly leaned closer and sealed his lips.

Pouring her every emotion in that one kiss, Alice wrapped her arms around his neck and crawled onto his lap.

Holding her firmly, Noah accepted her initiation and kissed her back. They were going slow keeping her surgery in mind. Nibbling and clasping their tongue together, both tasted each other until Alice abruptly pulled back.

Noah was dumbstruck. He didn’t know what was happening but the way she hissed in pain, he assumed it must be because of her surgery.

"Alice, don’t worry. Let me call the doctor" he said frantically. His hoarse voice made her chuckle and he froze with a crease appearing on his forehead.

"No need to call the doctor. I just felt dizzy but now I am feeling better" snuggling her face more into his chest, she kept listening to his soothing heartbeats.

Sensing the assuredness in her voice Noah breathed a sigh of relief and tightened his hold around her.

"You just scared me" Noah chuckled once he felt better and looked down to see Alice smiling back.

Once Alice was back to normal, she crane her neck up and stared at Noah who seemed like he was busy thinking about something.

"What are you planning to do with them?" she asked grabbing his attention.

Noah heaved out a sigh and looked at Alice. He had a plan but he was a little skeptical about whether Alice would agree with it.

Alice sensed the dubiousness in his eyes and immediately pulled back. She narrowed her eyes, sharply analyzing his expressions, and asked," Noah if you planning on getting close to Natalie then let me warn you, I will break your legs and isolate you in our bedroom for your entire life"

Noah gulped at the sight of a daredevil look. She could so easily see through his mind.

"B-but Alice, this is the only way we can make Natalie accept her crimes" Noah tried to defend himself. He knew staying away from Natalie will never let them expose her. They needed proof and for that, he had to get close to her.

"But why do you have to get close to her? You know I don’t like the way she looks at you. Nymphomaniac."

After meeting Natalie returned to the Scott mansion. The moment she entered the house, she saw Lucas frantically descending downstairs. Stopping midway, she was about to greet him but instead of looking at her he walked past her leaving her clueless.

Turning around she watched Lucas exit the house. Not for once did he notice her and that kind of left her in confusion.

"Where is he going so urgently" she mumbled staring at the closed door and turned, heading straight to her room.

Tossing the bag on the bed, Natalie walked inside the bathroom. She thought about erasing the data inside the cell phone once she gets freshened up but just as the forgetful person she was, that thought skipped her mind.

Laying inside the bathtub filled with water, Natalie started dreaming about Noah. She somehow managed to stop their wedding. What if she wasn’t able to kill Alice, but that doesn’t mean she couldn’t take her life afterward.

Right now her main priority was drawing Noah’s attention toward her. She had to find a way to seduce Noah if she wanted to part him with Alice and Avera would be the one who will be helping her.

Rile was the first man who was trying to pursue her even after he knew, she was with Tristan. The audacity he had when he openly expressed his wish of courting her made her laugh mentally.

It wasn’t his fault since they didn’t disclose the news of their marriage to the world but soon all his hopes were going to get flushed once she publicly announces her marriage with Tristan.

Riel took a step aside and watched her walk past him. As he watched her retreat back, the smile on his face broadened even more. Something about Ashley was pulling him closer to her and he was suddenly enjoying the feeling of teasing her.

Outside the institute building, Ashley hopped into the car followed by Miley and Jack. Taking the driver’s seat, Jack accelerated the car, driving it at a steady speed.

Everyone around Ashley was informed about their lady boss expecting a baby and was instructed to keep a careful eye on her surrounding.

Passing Ashley a water bottle, Miley then informed her about the script reading pre-ponded to tomorrow.

The doctors had asked to be cautious and had warned her from doing any reckless thing but now when she recalled the script, Ashley remembered having a few stunts that she had to perform.

"Oh god, how did I forget it" she mumbled and straightened up, suddenly feeling a fear creep her heart. She didn’t think about it earlier but now, the thought of something might happen to her baby made her blood run dry.

Looking down at her flat stomach, Ashley let out a soft smile. She knew the baby inside her womb is strong like its parents. Whatever the odds be, their baby will stand strong because she will never let anything happen to it.

Once she finished shooting her debut movie, she would announce her marriage and also her pregnancy with Tristan. She didn’t want to prolong this secret anymore especially when Riel was trying to woo her.

She had to announce her marriage before he thinks, he can have her.

Brown mansion

Richard went on a business trip and going to return after ow days, until then Tori found herself easing a bit.

It had been a little hard for her to stay cautious around the old man after that day he asked her where she was the entire time when Piper got a paralysis attack. Though she managed to bring an alibi, she was still doubtful if the old man was convinced by her lie.

Heaving out a sigh, Tori opened her eyes and resume chopping the vegetables. She still felt guilty after whatever happened to Piper. Her tearful eyes still haunted her.

While her thoughts were busy thinking of Piper, someone called her name from behind.

"Tori look down" snapping out of the trance her hands stopped moving right before the sharp edge of the knife touched the tip of her finger.

"Where is your attention" the lady behind, her quickly rushed to her side and pulled her by her shoulder.

Tori moved her eyes toward the woman and stared at her absentmindedly.

Stella the new head cook was appointed a few days later after Piper was taken by her family. The woman in her early thirties was a mind-blowing cook but was also very noisy as she kept raising her voice at Tori for making mistakes.

Chapter 293: He knows the truth

Looking down at the chopper, Tori cursed mentally, but quickly composed her expression before she turned her head to look at Stella.

Forcing a smile, she answered, "There’s nothing to worry. Look my hand is still in good shape. I won’t burden you with my work" Tori watched Stella’s lips twitch in anger.

"What do you think I am trying to do Stella," Tori asked shrugging her shoulder. She knew her behavior would only irritate Stella and she wanted to see how she would react.

"You.." gnashing her teeth Stella was about to scold Tori but before she could say a word Tori turned pointing the chopping knife right in front of her face.

Tori’s playful aura was replaced with a serious one. Her eyes had turned dark as she slowly inched the knife closer to Stella’s face.

"W-what are you doing Tori? Pull back that knife " Stella’s face turned pale and she stepped back. Sweat broke on her forehead when she saw Tori’s lips curled into a wicked smile.

"Good to see that fear in your eyes. You better be that way or else, it won’t take any time to slit that beautiful face of yours" Tori warned, and the next second smiled leaving Stella clueless.

"Now, don’t waste your time standing here ad watching my face. Get back to work" she ordered and Stella quickly reacted to her words.

Once they were done with the job, Stella quickly dashed to her quarter and shut the door close. She then reached towards the small drawer next to her bed and opened it taking out a secret phone.

Dialing a number she then waited for the person who answer the call and when it happened she squeal in fear.

"Boss your doubt towards Tori was right. She isn’t the way she appears to be." Stella felt a shiver run down her spine recalling the knife Tori pointed at her.

Richard on the hand fumed at Stella’s words. Sitting on the couch, of his private villa, he fumed. He had been a little skeptical about Tori since the day she lied about being inside her room when Piper was being taken to the hospital.

Slowly raising his eyes ahead, he recalled the moment when he went to meet Piper inside the hospital room.

Flashback.

After Piper’s condition was stabilized, she urge the doctors to let her meet him. Being one of his loyal servants, Richard couldn’t ignore her request and quickly agreed.

Once he was inside the room, Richard was shocked to see Piper eyeing his direction. The more he looked at her the more he felt sorry watching her helpless situation.

Walking towards her bed, he pulled the chair and sat on it. Piper was like his sister, who took care of his entire house and daughter like her own and now he wanted to repay all her good doing by treating her.

Piper opened her mouth to speak but words fail to come out and that broke the old lady into tears.

"Don’t cry Piper, everything is going to be okay. These doctors here are top-notch, they will heal you" Richard couldn’t watch the lady cry silently.

Piper shook her head denying his assuring words. "N-no" she whispered barely but was enough for Ricard to hear.

Snapping his eyes wide he looked at Piper in confusion. "What do you mean? Don’t you believe my words" he asked.

Piper shook her head in denial and lightly patted her fingers slowly on the side of her bed.

Moving his eyes he saw a letter under her palm and he quickly understood what she meant. Taking the letter from her hand, he opened it and read it.

It was a spare letter of the original one she wrote just in case, Richard does read the one placed in one of his files.

Richard’s eyes widen in shock after reading the letter and looked at Piper in disbelief.

"Is everything written inside this letter true?" Richard asked.

Piper closed her eyes agreeing to his question and watched the man crumble the letter in his palm.

He couldn’t believe Tori was a spy sent into his house but why would someone do that?

Richard racked his brain thinking if he somehow made enemies but even after a lot of thought, he couldn’t find one. Then what was Tori’s motive behind stepping into his Brown mansion?

Richard now understood, everything that happened with Piper somehow had something to do with Tori and he had to get deeper into this matter to find out what was the girl up to.

End of flashback

Richard clutch the phone in his hand firmly. Never for once, it crossed his mind that Tori’s might end up being this dangerous.

"Okay now, relax. You can’t panic like this Stella" Richard tried to comfort his assistant whom he had appointed as the head chef. No one in the family knew about Stella as she never once entered the mansion and Richard took it as a chance to stalk Tori.

"But boss.. what if she again charges on me with a knife, with the intention of killing me" Stella was scared to hell. The girls she was trying to annoy was dangerous.

"No, she won’t, not unless we do the same mistake that Piper did" Richard had analyzed everything. There were times when Piper tried to warn him about the suspicious acts being carried out in the house, but he was too stupid to understand.

There was a pause between the two when she heard Richard speak," Now listen to me very carefully Stella..." and with that, he started instructing her a few things.

Getting his words she then ended the call and quickly composed herself before she stepped out of the room.

Chapter 294: Retirement

Sitting on the couch Lucas was busy observing Gabriel’s expressions. After he disclose the news of the script reading session being preponed a day before, there has been a long silence between the two.

"What are you thinking? " Lucas asked as he couldn’t take his quietness for too long.

Keep quiet for further one minute, Gabriel finally spoke, "I have been thinking lately about why Tristan stopped searching for our hideouts. Him being this laid back isn’t a good sign"

It had been a few days since their men didn’t find Tristan’s comrades looking for them and it was quite suspicious. He can’t just sit ideally until he has gotten what he wanted.

Lucas agreed with Gabriel’s suspicions about Tristan. All these days his men had been hunting them like hungry wolves but now they don’t find them anywhere around them. How can that be possible? Did he already give up on his search for them or he somehow managed to find something about them?

"What if he managed to find out about you being my fake nephew" Lucas suddenly said.

They had been very careful about Gabriel’s identity as they wanted to keep it under wrap for some time being. But he couldn’t neglect the fact that Tristan’s men weren’t that stupid, they were a very skilled army and it wasn’t hard for them to locate anyone.

Gabriel’s bobbed his head and leaned back joining his palm together as he agree with his doubt. But then why wasn’t he doing anything, he thought.

"If Tristan has found out about me and still isn’t reacting, it only means he has been planning something big." Lucas nodded his head and heard him further continue, "And we have to be cautious." His eyes darkened as he turned his head and gave Lucas a meaningful look.

Tristan was calm before the storm, if once occurred, he would end up destroying everything.

There was again a long pause between the two. When Lucas asked, "Is there any progress? Have to manage to lure Ashley"

Gabriel snap his eyes at Lucas and watched him purse his lips into a thin line.

Everyone who worked with Gabriel knew he didn’t like anyone to invade his privacy, but since Lucas was his trusted comrade, he didn’t think about him as harm.

"Not yet, but soon she will be smitten by me and if she doesn’t then I will use another way" Gabriel’s eyes shined with determination.

Lucas was content that Gabriel wasn’t going to give up so soon but what made him anxious was the lady who kept losing her cool because of her impatience.

She wanted Ashley out of her way no matter what and if they fail God knows what she might end up doing.

After taking a nap in the afternoon Ashley had her lunch and then decided to visit Finn at the agency.

Informing Jack about it, she quickly got changed and headed to her destination. There were a few things that kept bothering her and she wanted to discuss them with him.

After a twenty minutes drive they reached the agency’s building and soon headed towards Finn’s cabin.

Once they reached the office door, Jack took a step back and let Ashley enter inside.

While Ashley was busy having a meeting with Finn, Jack received a call from Tristan, inquiring about their whereabouts.

Inside the cabin, Finn fell silent on Ashley’s decision of retiring from the modeling world. She had given it a lot of thought and now she wanted to take a break.

"Are you sure about your decision?" Finn asked again. Ashley was a renowned face of his company and losing such a successful personality was like losing a gem.

Heaving out a sigh, Ashley bobbed her head in confirmation. After completing the shooting of her debut film, Ashley wanted to focus on her motherhood. She wanted to enjoy the process of her pregnancy.

All her life, she had worked hard, earning both name and fame and now, she wanted to focus on her married life. She also decided to announce her marriage to Tristan after her movie releases.

Finn observed the girl in front of him for a while before he agreed to her decision. Though Ashley agreed not to take any modeling assignments, he was thankful that she was still the actress signed under his company.

Ashley spend some time chatting with Finn before she bid goodbye and stepped out of the cabin. Happy with the outcome, Ashley and Jack then reached the reception and headed out of the building walking towards the parking area when her eyes caught the sight of Tristan leaning against the car.

With a broad smile, Ashley quickly approached Tristan and pounced on him. "Careful" she heard him say as he wrapped his arms around her and kissed her head.

Ashley felt so happy with Tristan’s gesture that she didn’t let him go and kept snuggling more into his embrace.

"I missed you so much," she said making him smile.

They kept hugging each other for some time before they pulled back and hopped into the car. Since there wasn’t anyone in the parking lot Tristan was rest assured of them getting clicked.

Once they settle inside the car, Tristan asked Jack to drive them to their family restaurant.

Holding her hand into his, Tristan caressed her knuckles with his thumb before he brought her hand close to his lips and placed a gentle kiss. His mind was still lingering on Jack’s words.

His eyes bored into her calm ones and he watched her smile. ’Should I ask her’ he thought but soon shook it off thinking Ashley might end up getting upset with his constant stalking.

He just wanted to know what conversation they both had that led Ashley to tear up. But he also know, he couldn’t just question her knowing how easily it would irk her spoiling the entire mood.

Letting go of her hand Tristan slowly wrapped it around her waist and carefully lift her up placing her on his lap with his other arms too circling around her.

"Are you okay?" he asked as he cupped her face tenderly. Though she was smiling at him, the anxiousness in her orbs was visible.

When Jack informed him about their whereabouts, he fell silent for some time, guessing why would Ashley go to the agency, so he made Miley a call just to find the reason but was surprised when she said she wasn’t informed about the meeting.

Ashley gave Tristan a surprised look, but soon composed and opened her mouth to speak," I have decided to take retirement from the modeling world"

Chapter 295: Mood swings

Tristan kept quiet the entire time which made Ashley nervous. "Say something?" she asked as she couldn’t handle the silence between them.

Sensing the distressed look on her face, Tristan composed his appearance and kissed her lips.

"I support you no matter what decisions you take now or in the future" his assuring words calmed Ashley and she quickly hugged him.

"I love.... so much Tristan. I don’t know what will I do without you" she said pulling away and watched him give her amusing look.

"It should be me who should confess those words of yours. You mean the world to me Ash and I don’t know what will happen to me if I don’t have you by my side" Tristan looked calm from the outside but deep inside Gabriel’s presence around her kept bothering him.

The man who didn’t think twice before killing his father wasn’t trustworthy, and that was the reason why he didn’t counterattack his army even after learning about his new identity as Riel.

Tristan couldn’t risk Ashley’s life because of his rivalry with Gabriel. Things that happened in the past caused a rift between the two friends and the person who was the reason for their conflict was non-other than Sandra.

His hands around Ashley tightened when Sandra’s face popped in front of his eyes and his expression instantly turned grim.

Ashley sensed the change in his demeanor but before she could ask their car stopped and they heard Jack’s voice," Boss we are here"

Snapping out of his thoughts, Tristan bobbed his head and helped Ashley sit on the seat before they both stepped out of the car and walked inside the lavishing restaurant.

The manager of the restaurant immediately recognized the couple and soon guided them to one of the private room.

Taking their respective seats, Ashley observed Tristan who was busy instructing the waiter about the menu. Once he was finished talking he then moved his eyes to her.

Tristan was stunned for a second as he found her already staring at him and that made him feel a little giddy.

"What’s with that look? Are you planning on seducing me, darling" he asked smiling at her.

Ashley’s eyes intensely stared at him but he failed to notice the exact reason. She wasn’t trying to make a move on him but was sharply observing him.

Tristan was expecting a quick response but when she didn’t answer, the smile on his face faltered. It was quite difficult to guess what was going on inside her mind.

After a long pause, Ashley finally spoke," Have you ever been in a relationship before? I mean before you saw me " she didn’t know why she brought up this topic but her curious self kept poking about it.

Tristan choked on the saliva in his mouth and looked at Ashley with wide eyes. Why would she bring this topic up all of sudden, he thought while he kept staring at her.

Ashley felt uneasiness creep up her heart when she didn’t hear Tristan denying it and her thoughts drifted to Riel’s words. ’Was he telling the truth,’ she thought as her eyes welled up.

Watching her moisten eyes, Tristan snapped out of his trance and vigorously shook his head." No... I never had a girlfriend before. You were the only girl I fell in love with"

A tear slipped down her eyes and she suddenly started crying taking Tristan and the staff by surprise.

"Then why did it take so long for you to answer" Ashley had no idea why all of a sudden she began crying but his silence did break her heart.

Pushing the chair behind Tristan quickly got up and sprinted towards Ashley, kneeling in front of her.

"Please don’t cry. I didn’t mean to upset you" his voice came out as soft as cotton and it immediately soothed her as she stopped crying.

Tristan had no clue why would Ashley suddenly turn so sensitive that wouldn’t bother about their surrounding.

Ashley sniffed like a cute child and asked," Are you telling the truth?" she already knew the answer but still she wanted to hear it from him again.

"Yes, it was always you" Tristan’s lips curled up into an amusing smile as he found her too adorable.

Once Ashley calmed down, the food was also served. Returning to his seat, Tristan found Ashley resuming her old smiley expression, and that made him calm a little.

’God knows how long these mood swings are going to last’ silently crying for himself, they both began to enjoy the dinner.

Hospital

After the morning conversation, Alice didn’t speak with Noah on the topic again. She couldn’t agree to his plan. Not that she trusted him but it was Natalie who she couldn’t put her trust on.

Once the nurse was done dressing Alice’s wounds, she excused herself and entered the bathroom. She could feel Noah was still trying to pursue her but she couldn’t give in.

Staying inside the bathroom for some time, she then slightly opened the door and peeked at Noah who was still seated in the same place.

’You can’t keep on ignoring him like this Alice’ she told to herself and was about to peek out of the door when the door flung open and a tall frame block her view.

Noah wasn’t able to endure her ignorance and quickly marched toward the bathroom but before he could reach there he saw the door slightly open and without wasting a second he flung open the door only to find Alice standing right behind it.

"Why are you standing here?" he asked as his expression softened and he quickly took a step closer to her.

"Do you feel sick?" he asked examining her wound.

Baffled by his sudden entry, it took Alice to return back to her normal self and when she did, she quickly took a step back from him, leaving him disheartened.

"I am good" she mumbled avoiding his sad gaze and was about to walk past him when suddenly Noah hugged her from behind.

Alice stood still on the ground and felt his face burying into the crook of her neck, while his arms around her waist gripped firmly.

"It’s the only way for me to avenge them," he said against her neck and felt the stiffness of her body return back to normal.

Alice felt her legs wobble as she found herself melting into his touch. She knew they had to expose Avera and Natalie somehow and for that, they had to think their way.

They have tried warning them but it only led them to enhance their grudge again them.

Dropping her shoulders in defeat, Alice closed her eyes as she tried to think practically.

"Fine! I agree with your plan but on one condition" releasing his arms around her waist, she turned around giving him a blank look.
