Ch. 176..180: Fatal Kiss Of The Vampire Chapter 176-180

Chapter 176: I See Your Point

She didn’t want to get involved with the chaos, though, she started to pick up a fight with Ken as she felt pity with the girls. She can’t risk Faith’s life and hers. Once they were safe, Faith asked Kylie if the attack was personal.

“At first it wasn’t,” Kylie replied, “but then Ken recognized me immediately, and it became personal. He had once tried to assault me, but I got away. From what he said there, it seems to me that it is safe to say that he wants a second chance to do it again. Now that he knows I am in this area, he will probably send some of his men to run after me, so we need to find somewhere safe to go until all of this all cools down. I don’t want to risk your life, involving my personal matters. We are friends, but your safety is my most concern,”

Faith felt moved with Kylie’s words, “We are really kind and soft-hearted human beings. I can’t accept the fact that your own father threw you away from your home and he dares to hurt you emotionally,”

“Yeah, it’s a long story. My Mom had sacrificed herself for that man, but he betrayed her. I learned to fight because my father gives me no other option,” She heaved a deep sighed.

Faith fell into silence, and then she said, “Are you not going to give Ethan a chance to explain? If you doubt his loyalty and purpose of marrying you, you should at least hear his side. I think the most suitable way to settle a problem between a couple is a proper talk. He is still your husband, babe!”

Kylie once again sighed, “I don’t know what I am going to do. My mind was full of negative thoughts about him. Doubt starts to build inside my mind. Honestly speaking, I felt jealous because I saw a woman with him earlier. My Dad betrayed my Mom by having an affair. So you can’t blame me why I have this kind of doubt towards Ethan,”

“Yeah, I got it! Betraying is one of the habits that destroy so many relationships. Babe, no matter what happens, I will always be at your side. I am willing to accompany you during your struggle,” Faith smiled at her.

Fannie had only met Kylie a few times, but she thought very highly of her, and she worried about her safety. Once Ken and his men were “subdued,” she went with Nate to see if she was in. When she was told that Kylie wasn’t, she became even more concerned.

“Let’s take a drive in and around the area,” Nate suggested. “If we see her, great, but we should also consider checking into any of the stores that Kylie might feel safe hiding in.”

Faith and Kylie knew that it wasn’t safe to return to The Four Seasons, so they checked into a cheap motel and paid in cash. Once they were settled, Faith looked at Kylie and said, “Things have gotten out of control. Are you sure that you don’t want to contact Ethan? I am sure that he could come up with a better solution for us. Hiding is not really my thing if you know what I mean…”

No,” Kylie replied as she plugged her phone in. “I am sorry, but I don’t like your idea. Ethan is too far away. Let’s just make the most of the situation. I am going to go for a long hot bath, and then I am going to lie down. Who knows; I might even fall asleep. And everything will look better in the morning.”

As it turned out, Kylie was not able to sleep. After trying for about an hour, she turned on her phone to see what was going on in the land of Facebook. The first thing she noticed was that she’d received a message from Stars: “Kylie, do you still have a boyfriend?”

Kylie smiled and replied: “I don’t know…”

Stars: “It takes a lot of courage to marry a cactus.”

At first, Kylie didn’t understand the cactus reference, but it didn’t take her long to realize that he was making fun of her. “He is too old for me,” Kylie wrote. “Another few years he will be impotent and incontinent. Who has time for that? Not me. I have no intention of marrying the man.”

“You are too funny,” Stars replied, “but I see your point. If you ever find yourself wanting a younger better-looking husband, let me know. As of yet, I am still available.”

Suddenly a notice bubble popped up to notify Kylie that she’d received a text from someone else. She opened that field and saw that it was from Ethan. His message said, “Kylie, I can see that you are online, so I hope that you will hear me out. I know why you are upset, and that is fair, but I can explain everything. Please, tell me where you are so that I can come and pick you up.”

As Kylie read Ethan’s message, she felt like crying. She wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt but, if she was honest with herself, she knew that she didn’t trust him. Not wanting to think about it anymore, she turned her phone off and put it under her pillow.

Kylie was even more tired than she had been when she’d first tried to lie down, but she knew that if she tried to sleep now, she would not be able to. Feeling bored, she decided to go back into the living room. As she walked through the entrance to the living room, though, she was surprised to see Ken White sitting casually on the couch, and Faith was nowhere to be seen. Apparently, she’d gone back to her own room.

“What do you want with me?” Kylie shouted, hoping that someone outside would hear her cries and come to save her.

“Isn’t it obvious?’ Ken laughed. “I want to have my way with you.”

Chapter 177: No Qualms About Murdering People

Ken looked at Kylie and said, “Let’s play a game. If you win, I will let you go, and you can return to The Four Seasons. If I win, you will be mine until the day that you die, and we will return to The Four Seasons, together.”

Kylie frowned. She did not want to play a game with Ken. Not seeing any other option, though, she nodded her head. She could feel that this devil had something in his sleeve. There’s no way that this man will let go of her, as last time he tried to assault her.

Ken smiled and told her that she was a very good girl, which made her feel like a dog. Ken got up, took her hand, and led her outside, to where his car was waiting. He put her in the backseat and climbed in through the driver’s seat. She just doesn’t say any words, but she was thinking about some ways to escape from this devil.

Ken started the car and sped off in the direction of the inventory. When they arrived, Kylie noticed the plastic chairs and cigarette butts that littered the ground. From the corner, she could hear someone openly weeping. “Who is that?” Kylie wondered.

“Weeping Myrtle,” Ken laughed. “You know, from Harry Potter.”

Already, Ken’s sense of humor was grating on her.

“In all seriousness,” Ken continued, “the person that you hear is actually your friend, Faith. I stripped her of both her clothes and her dignity, and then I tied her to a barrel of oil. She has a gag in her mouth, which is why she hasn’t called out for help yet. She has a butt plug in her anus, and that is why she’d to weep. Apparently, she is more of a vanilla kind of girl.”

“You’re a fucking pig,” Kylie snared. “How could you do that to an innocent woman, who did nothing against you?” Kylie screams in anger. She wanted to kill this devil to take revenge for Faith.

“Maybe I am,” Ken replied as he walked over to Faith and pulled out the gag from her mouth. Faith tried to speak but found that her jaw hurt too much for her to form words. There was saliva dripping from her mouth. “But look at your friend. I would rather be a metaphorical pig, that a fucking slob likes your friend here.”

“But let’s get down to business,” Ken said as he pointed to a box that was on the table. “The first part of our game is simple. There is a snake in that box. If you can take it out, you win, and I will let your friend go.”

“Don’t do it,” Faith cried as she found her voice. “It could be poisonous.”

Kylie frowned and bit her lower lip. She can’t let Faith suffer from Ken’s kind of game. She needed to save her best friend.

Ken shrugged and said, “Time’s up. Will you try to rescue her? If you do not accept the challenge or fail to complete the challenge, I will drag her out into the yard and set her on fire. No pressure, though. You are under no obligation to save your friend.” His voice rang like a demon coming from hell, who tends to destroy someone’s lives.

Kylie quickly answers, “Promise me that if I take the snake out that you will let her go.”

Ken threw an evil smile at her “My word is my bond. Now the decision is yours, either you do it or not it’s up to you,”

Kylie felt afraid, but she needed to suppress her fear to save Faith’s life. She knew they are both in danger at this moment, “Then, I will do it.”

Kylie walked over to the table to get a better look at the box. She could hear the snake moving about inside, and her body broke out in gooseflesh. Knowing that she had no other choice, she slowly opened the box. She looked inside, and, right away, she was able to determine that the snake was not poisonous, which was a surprise. Ken had already admitted that he had no qualms about murdering people.

Kylie reached into the box, pulled the snake out, presented it to Ken, put it back into the box, and closed it up again. Seeing how effortlessly she’d completed the task, Ken shook his head and said, “You really are a crazy bitch.”

Kylie smiled and said, “Let my friend go.”

“Do it yourself,” Ken snapped.

Having his permission, Kylie walked over to Faith and freed her. Faith gave her a big hug and said, “I can’t believe that you did that, but you did, and you saved my life. Thank you. Can we go now?”

“We cannot,” Kylie replied. “I am stuck in a game of Ken’s design. No doubt, if I renege, I will be the one who is set on fire in the yard.”

Suddenly Faith noticed that Kylie did not look right. “Are you okay,” she asked her friend.

“I don’t know,” Kylie said. “I suddenly feel very dizzy. My eyes are –”

Kylie collapsed then, and Faith caught her just before her head would have hit the floor.

When Kylie came to her senses, she knew immediately where she was. She was in the hospital but, for the life of her, she didn’t know why she was here or how she’d gotten there. She did a quick body scan and found that she felt perfectly normal. She looked around the room, she saw Ethan, and that was a surprise.

“You’re awake,” he smiles at her.

Since she’d seen him last, he’d grown a full beard, which led her to believe that she’d been unconscious for a very long time. She had been mad at him upon her arrival in Seattle. Now though, she could see how worried he looked, and her anger melted away. Soon, she said to herself, and I will give him the opportunity to explain himself – which is something that I should have done right from the beginning.

Chapter 178: She Felt Tired

Within an hour of her waking up, Kylie was surrounded by friends. Many were crying with joy because of her recovery. They were glad she finally woke up, and her friends, who were worried about her, felt relieved. She wanted to ask how they had survived, but she chose to remain silent. There had been no guarantee that she would ever wake up. Nate and Fannie were there. Lucas and Faith were there, and Ethan stood by the side of her bed, holding her hand. He was worried about her for the past few days that she hadn’t woken up. Ethan’s face looked haggard for several days that he had been taking care of her. He loved Kylie so much, though, he knew that their relationship was bound to have trials; he was still there waiting for her to get conscious and could explain everything to her.

Kylie said she was thirsty, so Ethan let her hand go and went off to prepare her a cup of peppermint tea, which was her favorite. With Ethan out of the way momentarily, Nate stepped forward and gave Kylie a gift basket filled with fruit. There was also a novelty card that read, “I am so glad that you didn’t die! You made us all worried to death mostly, Lord Ethan,”

Reading the novelty card, she felt sudden pain while staring at the last message. For her, it emphasizes that Ethan has been with her while she’s unconscious. She threw a glance at her husband, who quietly prepared something for her. She caught him throwing glances at her, and she could sense that he wanted to have privacy with her.

Kylie tried to ignore him. She laughed at Nate’s last words and said, “No one is happier than I am that I didn’t die, but wouldn’t you have felt like a fool if you’d bought this novelty card, and I’d died!”

Kylie put the basket aside and gave Nate a big hug. “Thank you for your gift!”

Ethan arrived shortly with the tea. Kylie took it, thanked him, took a small sip, and placed it on the dresser beside her bed.

Since Fannie had entered the room, Kylie felt that she could see that something was different about the girl. She couldn’t discern what it was, but she determined that she would have to keep an eye on her. She felt paranoid because of what she had seen the day he followed Tom Thomas.

***

Once everything had settled down, Ethan looked to Nate and asked him what had happened to the men that had accosted Kylie and Faith. Nate looked at Lord Ethan and said, “You can rest assured that I took care of them. You don’t need to worry about them anymore. They can’t bother Kylie anymore,” He patted his shoulder.

Ethan addressed the group and said, “I think we should all go and let Kylie rest. The doctor said she could only have two visitors at a time, and family only. We have clearly breached those rules, so let’s get out of here before they throw us out.”

Having said that, everyone left; once everyone was gone, Kylie rolled over, closed her eyes, and tried to fall asleep. Twenty minutes later, though, when the door opened, she was still awake. She recognized that the intruder’s footsteps belonged to Ethan, but she feigned sleep.

Ethan walked over to Kylie’s bed and took her dainty hands into his much larger palms. Feeling his touch on her skin, all of Kylie’s doubts came rushing back to her, and she was angry. She still didn’t know the name of the woman he’d been with, or what they’d been doing together. The whole thing, to Kylie, was a complete cluster fuck. More than anything, she felt like she wanted to run away. She wanted to scream and question her husband, yet she finds herself lacking courage to do it. She is afraid to know the truth. She can’t bear the pain of being rejected again. Aiden had done it to her, and now Ethan also hid something behind her back. She felt tired of thinking about these thoughts that bothered her.

Ethan was still holding her hands when she fell asleep.

The next morning Kylie was discharged from the hospital. By then, everyone had gone home except for Ethan, who was sleeping in the waiting room. Kylie got her things together, snuck past Ethan, and took a taxi home.

On the way home, she noticed that there were many text messages from Lucas. The first one said, “If you are up to it, would you like to go to the Tea Maiden with me tomorrow?”

“Of course,” Kylie replied. “Come and pick me up tomorrow. Faith is sick, though, and has to rest for the next two days – so she won’t be able to join us.”

“Sick?” Lucas wondered. “She was fine yesterday when she was at the hospital…”

“It’s girls’ stuff,” Kylie lied. “You wouldn’t understand.”

“That is unfortunate,” Lucas replied. “I couldn’t even begin to imagine how bad menstruation can be. I hope that, as she bleeds, she doesn’t lose too much blood. Anyway, let’s not talk about that anymore. It makes me uncomfortable. I will pick you up tomorrow for tea.”

With that settled, they exchanged pleasantries and said goodbye.

The next message was from Faith. It said, “Kylie, how are you? Has your fever gone down?”

Kylie chuckled. Apparently, Faith didn’t know that she’d been discharged after being given a clean bill of health.

“I’m alright,” Kylie replied. “I am back at home now. How are you?”

“I’m fine,” Faith replied, “but you gave us quite a scare when you ran off in the way that you did. Please, never do that again.”

Kylie said, “I won’t. I promise.”

As they were talking, Kylie happened to look out the window and see a Knight XV pulling up in the driveway. Inside, the vehicle she saw the one person in the world that she really did not want to see. It was Ethan Parker, and he didn’t look very happy.

Chapter 179: Pupu Is With William

Much to Kylie’s surprise, once Ethan had parked, he didn’t get out of his car. It was unnerving. He just sat there, staring up at her up through his window. An hour past, and then another two, and then he drove away. Thinking of Ethan’s sudden change, Kylie could not figure out what that was all about or what he had hidden from her. She wanted to hear his explanation if he exerted effort to coax her, but Ethan didn’t do it; instead, he drove away.

***

The next morning, Kylie and Lucas found a secluded table at The Tea Maiden. They ordered drinks, and while they waited, Lucas pulled out his tablet and said, “The trailer for your show is complete and live on the internet. Press play and take a look.”

Kylie watched the video. She thought it was pretty good and she said so. There were comments below the video, and she scrolled through them. One person said, “Kylie Finch is so adorable. She is a walking emoji.”

Another person said, “Kylie is hilarious. I liked how she didn’t have any makeup on. If she had, her face would have been a mess when she came out of the water. It seems she had a lot of potentials,”

“She is lucky,” someone replied. “She has perfect skin. She even looks younger recently, and someone might take care of her from behind,”

Lucas took the tablet away from her and said, “You might have noticed that Khloe wasn’t in the trailer. That is because David Ham asked the editors to cut out the parts when Khloe went to the shopping mall and any scenes where her makeup was melting off her face – which is pretty much every scene that she was in. That evil woman really manipulated everything. How cunning!”

Kylie nodded with satisfaction and gave Lucas a high five. “Hey, forget about Khloe, she’s is not important,”

Suddenly there was a commotion then, near the entrance, and they turned in unison to see what was going on. When they saw that William Wolf and his puppy, Pupu, had just come in, they stood up and waved at him in a come hither motion. As William approached their table, he let Pupu go free, and the puppy jumped into Kylie’s arms.

Kylie got confused about why Pupu seems to like William when the last time this dog didn’t like him.

“How did you manage to persuade Pupu to like you?” She quickly asked William.

He shrugged his shoulders and said, “Do I need to explain in detail? This kind of dog often love someone who will show him care and feed him with good food,”

Hearing what William said, Kylie somewhat lost. She just ignores what William had said.

“Pupu, I miss you!”

The dog wagged its tail and settled at her arms.

Kylie sat down with Pupu in her arms, and she happened to notice a small box tied around his neck. William smiled at the sight of them together and said, “Pupu, you must like beautiful girls as much as I do. Too bad for you, though; she already belongs to me! Soon she will be my woman,”

Kylie ignored William’s last comment and asked him about the box that was strung at Pupu’s neck. William opened the box, and Lucas and Kylie were shocked. There was a diamond necklace in the box.

Kylie frowned as she looked at William. “You aren’t trying to woo me,” she asked. “are you? If Ethan were here right now, he would kill you. Just walk away, and we can all pretend that this conversation never happened. You knew that Ethan wouldn’t like what belongs to him grabbed by others.”

“You think so, then let me have a try. After all, the public does like our tandem!” He sounded arrogant while staring at Kylie with a pleasant smile.

“Stop it! This is not funny. You even include my dog,” She sneered at him.

Kylie took the necklace from the box and put it around Pupu’s neck.

“Because of my work,” William said, “I am no longer able to watch Pupu or give her the affection that she deserves. If you come with me, we can watch Pupu together. If you don’t come with me, though, I will have to surrender her to the SPCA where she, in all probability, would be put down.”

“Pupu doesn’t belong to you. It is Ethan who took him the time I let go of him!”

“Then, I should do what I’ve told you,” William said.

Hearing this, two things happened simultaneously. First, her heart broke for Pupu, and then she began to hate William. Anybody who could be this callous, in her books, was a monster. “I cannot go with you,” Kylie hissed, “but you mustn’t throw this dog away. When you bought her, you took on the responsibility. If you did as you have said that you must do, it would show what an immoral person you really are and I would expose you to the world, tarnishing your reputation wherever I go, until your career is ruined.

“The dog is adorable,” Kylie continued. “Take her home and be thankful that dogs don’t hold grudges.”

“I’ll think about it,” William replied. “Right now, though, I think that we should be preparing for our next scene. It is the sex scene. Perhaps we can go back to my house and practice our lines and discuss which positions you prefer. The director wants the scene to feel authentic, so we should probably get to know each other better.”

“I agree,” Kylie said, “but I’m not willing to go to your house. Who knows what kind of a stunt you might try to pull. We could meet at the studio, though.”

William felt annoyed when she heard what Kylie had said. “Why do you refuse me when you knew that it is part of our job?”

“I didn’t trust you, nor anybody else. Most men are liars,” She said brutally. How about we leave now and went to the studio?” She said.

William shrugged his shoulders and they all left and went to the studio to start their rehearsal.

Chapter 180: You Need To Be More Careful

At the studio, Lucas heard them arguing again. Pupu had waited for them nearby. William started to talk again. Lucas feels lost with their conversation, so he began to speak, “Hey, I should leave now. You two must practice your line.

When they were alone, William began to asked Kylie.

“What’s wrong with you recently?”

“It’s none of your business. My private life has nothing to do with you,” She snapped at him.

“Oh, you sound so affected, huh? What’s going on, babe?” William asked.

“I said, stop asking!” Her voice was full of anger.

“Okay, suit yourself,” William snapped at her.

Before William and Kylie could begin practicing their lines, they needed Pupu to skedaddle. Kylie looked at the dog and said, “Pupu, be a good boy. I need to work, and you need to go.”

Pupu did not move. She stood where she was and looked up at Kylie defiantly. Kylie had always believed that you could catch more flies with honey than you can with vinegar, so she checked to make sure that no one was looking, and she kissed the dog on the mouth. In response, the dog stood up, wagged its tail, and returned the kiss, but still refused to move.

Kylie didn’t know what to do. She kissed Pupu again and pushed her away. Then, finally, the dog went away.

Ethan leaned against his car and smoked a cigar outside of the studio. He secretly followed Kylie. It was a sunny day, and the light lit him up, making him look like some kind of living god or Madonna. Once his cigar was finished, he dropped it to the ground and stomped it out. When he looked up, he saw Pupu playing in the yard and noticed that something was gleaming around his neck, but he thought nothing of it.

He opened the back seat door, called the dog over, and lured him in. Next, he climbed in through the driver’s side, started the car, and drove away.

***

Khloe stumbled against the window, and the glass splintered all around her, but she didn’t fall, and none of the glass injured her either. Seeing the mess, Alice Davis scolded her: “You need to be more careful. Hold still. I will clean up the mess. I wouldn’t want you to cut yourself and get a nasty scar!”

“I don’t care how I look,” Khloe whined. “My life is ruined.”

“You are worrying about nothing,” Alice comforted her. “Not every movie or television program you make will be your best. It is the same with every movie star. Did you see Punch Drunk Love with Adam Sandler? It was a pile of shit, but he kept going, and now he has a net worth of 360 Million Dollars! He has come a long way from his roots on Saturday Night Live, don’t you think?”

Khloe scowled and said, “You just don’t understand. The company has published a statement that I will be competing with Kylie Finch, but all of my scenes so far have been cut out. It is a disaster. Sandler may have looked bad in Punch Drunk Love, but I am practically invisible in this show, which is worse!”

“Just try to keep your head up,” Alice said. “Your father loves you so much. I don’t believe that he would let you slip into obscurity.”

***

Clarence scowled as he re-read a letter he’d just received. It was from Laurence, and he was recommending Khloe for an Oscar, which was completely ridiculous – but he did not know how he’d say no without pissing Laurence. He obviously saw some talent in his daughter that no one else did…

“Perhaps,” he mumbled, “it would be best to nominate her. She won’t win anyway, but then I would stay in good with Laurence and his company…”

Having made his decision, he picked up the phone and dialed Laurence’s number.

Khloe followed her mother into Laurence’s office and, when Laurence saw her baby daughter’s red and swollen eyes, his heart started aching again. Alice looked up at him and said, “You have to help Khloe. She’s your daughter…” As she spoke, she started crying. “When I was pregnant with Khloe, you left me at a very bad time. Do you remember what you said after? You said that as long as you got the shares of Garcia Entertainment, our daughter would be the apple of your eye. But now…”

“Mommy, stop it…” Khloe cried. “It’s my entire fault. I disappointed you… I disappointed daddy. I am vain, mean, and egotistical – these are my just desserts. It is all my fault. I am sorry.” Khloe hugged her mother, and they two cried bitterly as if Laurence was about to abandon them.

Laurence rubbed his temples as if he had a headache, but then, suddenly. He smiled and said, “You two can stop crying. I’ve got good news.”

Khloe turned trustfully towards her father, and dutifully wiped the tears from her eyes. Laurence took a sip of his coffee and asked Khloe when her wedding was supposed to take place. Hearing this, Alice scowled and asked him if he really believed that, with Khloe’s career ruined, Aiden would still want to marry her.

“Don’t worry about that,” Laurence laughed. “I just received a very important phone call from Clarence. Khloe has been nominated for an Oscar. Even if she doesn’t get it, the nomination alone will ensure that her career carries on.”

“Wow!” Khloe exclaimed as she jumped up from her seat and wrapped her arms around Laurence. “Daddy, are you serious? ‘ve I been nominated? I’ve really been nominated?”

Laurence nodded, “It is so. It would still be good if you could pull your shit together and take the reality show seriously. If you don’t, some people will assume that the game has been rigged and try to be nice. As you said, the truth is that you tend to be vain, egotistical, and mean. If you want to gain the people’s trust, you must show them another side of you…

“That will be hard,” Khloe replied, “but I will do my best for you.”
