Chapter 256: It Is The Scales Of Justice

Kylie found Ethan where she’d left him in the recovery room, and she told him what had just happened between her and her father. Ethan had no problems with it, but he was curious to know if she’d forgive her father.

Kylie shrugged, and she said, “It’s highly unlikely, at least for now. We are going for coffee, though, to talk things out further. You can take Pupu home, and Laurence will give me a ride.”

Kylie could tell that Laurence was hungry, but she didn’t want to shame him. In order for him to save face, she ordered more than she could eat, and once she was full, she rubbed her belly, pushed the food away, and said, “My eyes are bigger than my stomach. I am stuffed. Have some. I would hate for it to go to waste.”

Laurence thanked her and savored every bite that he put into his mouth. Meanwhile, Kylie let him eat in peace. It wasn’t until he’d pushed his plate away and belched twice, that he looked at her and said, “Thank you for the meal. I was much hungrier than I’d realized.

“What do you want to know?” he wondered. “You can ask me anything.”

“Why did you divorce my mom?” Kylie asked, straight away.

Laurence frowned and licked his lips. After a moment, he looked at her and said, “I shouldn’t be surprised that that was the first question that you’d ask. Before I do, though, do you have a cigarette?”

Kylie patted the pocket on her shirt, and he could see that it was empty. “I’m sorry,” she said, “but I’ve quit.”

Laurence looked at her, took a long sip of his coffee, and said, “I suppose that this will have to do…”

“Go on,” Kylie said impatiently.

Laurence lowered his head, and he said, “Kylie, you aren’t the daughter of Emily Garcia and me.”

“I suspected as much,” Kylie said. “Now, tell me something that I don’t already know.”

***

On the night that Laurence married Alice, his boss’ daughter, Emily Garcia, had come to him. She looked him over, and she proposed a deal between them. If he married her, he would live a life of wealth and luxury until the day that he died.

For a man who was dirt poor, this was quite the proposition. As a young man, though, Laurence was a man of his word, and he always tried to do what was right. Considering this, the proposition was easily dismissed. He rejected the deal and told Emily that he was already married.

Before long, Laurence was called into Emily’s office in order to give a report. When he arrived, there was a mug of coffee waiting for him. He thanked Emily and drank the coffee, not knowing that she had put sleeping pills into it. After a few minutes, he began to feel very sleepy. He passed out, and when he woke up, he found himself lying beside Emily on a bed.

Seeing the situation that he was in, Laurence began to panic. He noticed very quickly, though, that she was very calm. Once he calmed down, she said that he had two choices. He could either marry her, or he needed to leave town forever.

Not knowing what to do, he brought his problem to his wife. He said, “I love you very much, and if you are willing to come with me, we could leave town together.”

Alice loved Laurence, but she had a life as a singer, which she loved even more than she loved him. She had been a singer in a bar for a long time, but what she had always wanted was to release a CD and be famous – and she saw Emily’s proposition as an opportunity. “Marry her,” she’d said, “and get me the money to record my CD!”

Accepting defeat, Laurence married Emily. Much to his astonishment, though, Emily soon told him that she was pregnant. She had become impregnated on the day of his marriage to Emily. Hearing this, Laurence felt more than a little bit used.

His marriage quickly wasted away because there had never been any love between him and Emily. Before she gave birth, though, she asked Laurence to run away with her. She was afraid of what the real father would do when he caught wind of her secret. Laurence refused at first – he was worried about Alice – but Emily threatened to have his parents killed if he didn’t cooperate.

When Alice next came to Laurence for money, he was missing, and she was out of luck. Eventually, she did put out her CD, but it was a disaster. She had no talent.

Emily’s father eventually used his connections to ensure that it would be safe for them to return, which is what they did.

Laurence lowered his head and remained silent.

Kylie filled up his coffee cup and sad, “Whatever happened, happened a long time ago. I still appreciate that you raised me, and I can tell that there is a lot of truth to your story. That being said, I sense holes in your story. In order for me to let you stay at Merlin Villa, you need to tell me everything.”

Laurence looked at her curiously and said, “If I stayed at the Merlin Villa, where would you live?”

“I’ll live in the Finch house, “Kylie replied automatically.

Hearing this, Laurence was completely stunned. He knew that the house had been sold, but he hadn’t realized who it had been sold to. “How is this possible?” Laurence whispered.

Kylie smiled and said, “The house bears my name; of course, it is mine. In time, everything that once belonged to my family will come back home. Look at you: you started with nothing, and it is to nothing that you’ve returned. It is not irony. Rather, it is the scales of justice – and they always balance in the end. Now, will you fill in the holes in your story?”

Laurence’s face turned a pale shade of green. “I’ve told you the truth,” he said. “Whether you believe me or not, it is up to you…”

“Alright,” Kylie nodded. “Can you tell me who my biological father is?”

“I am sorry,” Laurence replied, “but I cannot. Your mother once told me that your father was a hoodlum. That is all I know…”

Kylie thought about that for a moment. She had a hard time imagining her mother having a one night stand with a hoodlum. She had fled the city to get away from him, though, which said something about him.

Suddenly Laurence stood up, and he said, “This was a mistake. I won’t stay at your place. I don’t want to cause you any trouble. It was nice to see you, though.”

Kylie looked at him and said, “Are you afraid that my natural father is going to find me?”

***

Khloe was already waiting for Matthew when he walked through the door. He went straight for her, saw that she was distraught and crying, and gave her a hug. “What’s wrong?” he asked her.

“Sit down,” she said, “I will tell you everything.

Once Khloe had told her tale from beginning to end, she looked at Matthew and said, “I don’t know what to do now. Can you tell me what to do?”

Matthew had been chain-smoking the whole time that she’d been talking, but now that she was done, he smashed his cigarette into the ashtray and looked at Khloe to suggest that he had all of the answers to all of her problems.

Khloe took a deep breath, met his eyes, and allowed her heart to be filled with hope. If he sent her away, she would be sleeping on the street. He was a good person, though, and she didn’t think that he would abandon her.

Matthew smiled, and he looked down at her stomach. “Are you really pregnant?” he wondered.

Khloe showed him a document from the hospital, and when she spoke, she almost cried. She said, “I was sick for two days. At first, I didn’t know what was happening, and it seemed to be getting worse. Finally, I went to the hospital. They did some tests and told me that I was pregnant. I am on the medication for morning sickness now, and it helps…”

“Is it mine,” he wondered, “or is it Aiden’s.”

“You are the only person that I’ve been with,” Khloe replied.

Matthew slumped back into his chair as if all of his energy had been sucked out of him. He looked at her and said, “Alright. I will take care of you and your mother.”

“What about Aiden?” Khloe wondered. “He is bound to be angry.”

“Never mind him,” he replied. “Aiden is my son. He will always be subservient to me. It will never be the other way around.”

Matthew looked her over and said, “You are too thin to carry a baby; we must get some weight on these bones.”

Khloe frowned. “I don’t want to eat,” she sighed. “Every time I eat, I throw up.”

“We will figure that out,” he promised. “Is there anything else that I can do to help.”

Chapter 257: Take A Moment To Relax

Khloe looked Matthew in the eye and said, “As you probably know, Kylie Finch and I do not get along. Some might even go as far as to say we are enemies. I try just to stay away from her, but she is always coming after me. For example, she knew that I was collecting shares of Garcia Entertainment, so she sabotaged them to ensure that I would lose all of my money. She is absolutely diabolical. Now we are looking at bankruptcy, and all the shareholders are blaming me!”

Matthew looked at her skeptically and said, “Kylie Finch – your sister – did all of this? As far as I know, she and Ethan have always acted ethically. In fact, it was Ethan who uncovered my own financial fraud. He can be diabolical, but he tends to work within the bounds of the law. I even tried to bribe him, but he turned my money down; now, who would do such a thing? I would think twice before I accused one of them. You would have a hard time making it stick, and more likely than not, you would come out holding the shitty end of the stick.

“I’ll look into it, though,” Matthew promised. “Just keep a low profile for now. Your number one priority now is to grow a baby inside of you. It will only be healthy if you are healthy.”

“Oh, thank you,” Khloe exclaimed. “If you were able to help me save my father’s company, it would mean the world to me.”

“It’s no big deal,” Matthew laughed. He called a waiter and shouted, “Get us the best dessert you have.” Then he turned to Khloe and said, “I need to use the restroom. You can help yourself with the dessert when it arrives.”

Once Matthew was out of sight, Khloe called Duncan. He didn’t answer so she left him a message: “Keep buying stock. Things are going to change in our favor. I can feel it!”

***

Matthew was dialing Dora’s phone number from a cubicle in the men’s restroom. His allowance had steadily decreased since Ethan had taken over the Century Group. What’s worse, since his own investments had failed, he was almost broke.

Although Matthew was still the eldest son of the Parker Family and the VP of Century Group, he barely had enough money to keep himself afloat, let alone help Alice and Khloe.

When Dora answered, he went right into it: “What a great decision you’ve made to cooperate with Director Miller! It must be super profitable!”

“Matthew,” Dora laughed, “you don’t need to flatter me. Just tell me what can I do for you?”

“That’s the reason why we get along so well,” he said. “We don’t need to waste our time exchanging pleasantries! I need money now. Consider it a loan. I’ll repay you with interest by the end of the month.”

“Sure,” Dora replied. “But, I need an IOU.”

“No problem,” Matthew replied confidently. “I promise to pay you back with 30% interest.”

Dora said, “Great. I’ll let my manager come to you. You can borrow as much as you need or want.”

“This will be perfect!” Matthew exclaimed as he hung up the phone. He was totally relieved and excited now. With Dora supporting him financially, it would be a piece of cake to defeat Ethan. Then, once Ethan was defeated, the money would flow back into his accounts – which is where, he figured, it should have been all along.

By the time that Matthew returned to the table, dessert had arrived. Khloe was eating already and, what the server had brought looked delicious. He sat down, took a bite, and said, “This is delicious.”

“Indeed it is,” Khloe replied.

After having a few bites, Matthew looked at Khloe and said, “We should figure things out for tonight. Do you and Alice have clothes or furniture that needs to be picked up?”

Khloe frowned, and she said, “My house was robbed and ransacked, remember?”

Matthew’s face turned red, and he said, “I’m sorry. That was insensitive. We can purchase clothes for the both of you tomorrow. When we are done here, I will drop you off at Garbo Place, and then I will pick up your mother. My home is very big. You will both be very happy there for as long as you choose to stay.”

“What about your Aunt Taylor?” Khloe wondered. “Will she be mad?”

“She may be,” Matthew admitted. “But so what? And there is also Old Mr. Parker’s birthday just around the corner. You will have a lot of fun there too!”

“Me?” Khloe gasped. “Is that appropriate? There will probably be many people there to celebrate Old Mr. Parker’s birthday.”

“So what?” Matthew laughed. You’re my girl. If I think it’s appropriate, then it is. After all, it is my house, isn’t it!”

Stepping out of the car, Khloe felt like she was walking into a dream. Matthew’s home looked more like a castle than anything she could imagine living in. The garden out front was breathtaking, and the house – which was called Garbo Place – was larger than life. It had three levels, and each level had its own deck style balcony complete with statues, gazebos, and flower gardens.

As soon as they’d arrived, Matthew left to pick up her mother, but he’d arranged for a driver to give her a short tour. When it was done, he asked her what she thought, and she said, “I like it here, but I would also like to have a car. As you know, there’s a long distance between downtown and here. I would still like to look for work. Do you think that that could be arranged?”

The driver nodded, called Matthew, they spoke for a few minutes, and after he put his phone-distance told her that a car would be provided for her.

Suddenly, Khloe remembered her mother. She pulled out her phone and dialed her number by memory. “Mom!” she shouted excitedly when she answered the phone. “Matthew just dropped me off at Garbo Place! He is on his way to pick you up. This is where we are going to live!”

“But we don’t have any clothes or furniture,” her mother cried. “It would be terribly embarrassing.”

“It won’t be embarrassing at all,” Khloe assured her, “and Matthew has promised to take us shopping tomorrow. From now on, everything will be better. I promise.”

When Alice arrived at Garbo Palace, she was shocked. Matthew got out of the car, and like a gentleman, he opened her door and helped her out.

Alice looked at her daughter and said, “Khloe, what’s going on here? I need to know every detail!”

“Never mind the details for the moment,” Khloe sighed. “Take a moment to relax; take a vacation from your stress and anxiety, if you are able.”

Alice sighed, and she said, “My life has been hard, and it has always been hard for me to relax, but I will do my best…”

Chapter 258: Don’t Be So Harsh

Kylie brought Laurence to Merlin Villa despite his protestations. He needed a place, and she had one. Furthermore, he was her father, and she had always believed that when it came to family, certain situations demanded that animosities be shelved temporarily.

“The house is empty,” Kylie said, “and I have to work now, but I’ll have someone send furniture here as soon as possible.”

Laurence was too moved to say a word, but the tears down his face spoke a language of their own.

***

When Lucas heard that Kylie had taken Laurence in, he couldn’t believe his ears. “Kylie,” he snapped. “Are you nuts? Have you forgotten everything that he’s done to you?”

“Don’t be so harsh,” Faith sighed. “Kylie is an adult. She can do as she pleases.”

“I don’t understand you people…” Lucas complained. He sat back in the driver’s seat, and Dinah, who was sitting beside him, didn’t move or say anything at all. Kylie’s safety was the only thing she cared about, and he was worried about her, but she could tell that she’d made her mind up.

Lucas met Kylie’s eyes in the mirror, and he asked her who she trusted more: Laurence or Khloe?

“I don’t know,” Kylie sighed. “There are other questions that would need to be answered before I could give a proper answer.”

“Such as?” Lucas prompted.

“For one,” Kylie replied, “I would like to know why my mother commit suicide? And who was the man my mother was trying to escape from, and who on earth was my biological father?!”

When Kylie arrived on set, everyone could tell that her mind was preoccupied, and everyone was guessing about what was bothering her. Even her make-up artist was concerned and, when Kylie sat down in her chair, she asked Kylie if she was worried about the vice director.

“He’s actually a paper tiger,” the make-up artist said. “Though he speaks loudly, he treats actors well. I’ve been working with him for a long time. He’s a nice guy.”

“I’m sorry,” Kylie said suddenly. “I was thinking about something else, and I didn’t hear your question clearly. I’m not worried about the vice director.”

“It’s alright,” the make-up artist replied. “We all have days like that.”

“Which scenes are you recording today?” the make-up artist wondered.

“Today, I will be fighting the character that Sally is playing. Sally’s part will be played by a stunt woman, though, so I am a little nervous. Miller offered to let me have a stunt double too, but I’ve practiced too much not to do the scene. Of course, Miller tried to convince me to let it go, but I kept saying, ‘Just give me a chance!’ until he agreed to give me a chance.

“In a film like this,” she continued, “there are new possibilities every day. I am so grateful that I’ve been given this opportunity.”

“From what I’ve heard,” the make-up artist replied, “you’ve done more than hold your own – even from here, I could hear everyone cheering for you yesterday!”

Dinah walked over to help Kylie fasten her safety belt and, in a low voice, she said, “Are you really going to do this yourself?”

“Yes,” Kylie replied. “I want to face this challenge. Please don’t tell Ethan though. He would shit a brick if he knew that I was putting myself in danger…”

“You can’t hide from Ethan,” Dinah sighed as she pointed at the wireless earphones in her ears. “He hears everything.”

Kylie’s face changed suddenly. It turned red, and she grabbed the wireless earphones from Dinah. She put them on and screamed, “What are you doing?!”

“Ethan laughed, and he said, “I’m protecting you, Kylie.”

Kylie glanced at the platform. It was ten meters off the ground. “I promise you,” she said. “I’ll be safe. The platform is only three meters high off the ground! You worry too much.”

Kylie hung up and threw the wireless earphones back to Dinah. “Don’t ever call him again while I’m at work,” she hissed. “You work for me, not him. Never forget that!”

“As you wish,” Dinah grinned. She had already found a loop-hole. She would not call Ethan again, but she hadn’t promised to answer his calls.

Miller guided Kylie to her place and, when Kylie was ready, he motioned for the scene to begin.

Themis was looking over a cliff when Sharon, with sword drawn, attacked her from behind. Themis had quick reflexes, though, and she dodged the attack easily. She spun left, and there was a second where, if there had been two seconds more, she could have kicked Sharon off of the edge of the cliff.

Still, by the time Sharon turned around, Themis had the upper hand. She lunged, and Sharon dodged. She lunged again, and Sharon dodged again – and with each attack, Themis got closer to her target, never giving Sharon the opportunity to strike back.

A wind blew off of the mountain. It rushed at them and gave them the look of true warriors.

Themis rose her sword above Sharon’s with the intention of splitting her head. She was too slow, though, and Sharon was able to bring up her sword to block it. The two weapons clashed together, and the sound was deafening.

For a moment, Sharon had all of the leverage that she needed to push Themis away and catch her breath, which is exactly what she did.

As soon as they were apart, Miller called the scene. “Very good,” he laughed. “Take a break. We’ll begin again in fifteen minutes.”

Kylie set her sword down and had an assistant wipe some of the sweat from her arms and neck. She was hot and tired, but there wasn’t enough time to take off her outfit.

When Dinah came to check on Kylie, Kylie said, “I think my sword was tampered with. In the final moment where I brought my sword down on Sharon’s head, it felt like it was on the verge of giving out on me. If that had happened, Sharon’s sword would have smashed into my face.”

Dinah looked at the sword and said, “There’s supposed to be a washer right here, but it has been removed…”

“Let’s forget about it,” Kylie said. “Just have it fixed. There is no need to tell anyone.”

Dinah nodded as she looked around the room in an attempt to winnow out the saboteur. Finally, her eyes landed on the prop manager, and she said, “I have found our culprit.”

“Keep an eye on him,” Kylie commanded, “but do not confront him. It is time for me to shoot, and I don’t want to be worrying about your safety.”

Miller motioned for the scene to begin, and Thermos scurried up a nearby tree. Sharon shouted and rushed to the tree trunk, waving her sword in anger.

Kylie was about to begin mocking the stunt man, in line with the script, when a loud noise bellowed from out of nowhere. It was a sound like thunder.

Dinah’s eyes were on the prop manager the whole time and, when the noise sounded behind her, her first thought was that Kylie was in trouble. She looked up nervously and was relieved to see that Kylie was safe but, when her eyes returned to where the prop manager had been, she was disappointed to see that he was gone.

Kylie, who was still at the top of the tree, began to panic. The wires that were intended to protect her were tangled, and the man who was in charge of them seemed to be running around like a chicken who’d had its head cut off.

There were thick mats at the bottom of the cliff but, from where Kylie was standing, they hardly seemed like a safety measure. She looked for the stunt man, but he seemed to be MIA – Missing In Action. “Oh my god,” she cried. “Is this the end? Is this how I die.”

From the ground, she heard someone say, “Call 9-1-1,” which was hardly comforting.

The man in charge of the wires finally calmed down. He threw Kylie a rope and explained to her how to connect the carabineers. “Once you are attached to the main support,” he said, “you will be one hundred percent safe.”

Once Kylie was safely on the ground, Dinah rushed to her and gave her a big hug. “Are you okay?” she wondered. “We were all very worried.”

“I’m fine,” Kylie replied, “but how is the stunt, man?”

“Not good,” Dinah admitted. “He fell from the cliff and hit his head. He isn’t even conscious…”

Kylie frowned, looked at the equipment, and saw what had happened immediately. Her face went pale, and she said, “Our wires got mixed up. I am the one who was supposed to fall…”

“But why would someone want to harm you?” Dinah worried. “You are such a nice person. Do you think it was the props manager?”

Chapter 259: Let’s Announce Our MarriageChapter 259: Let’s Announce Our Marriage

The police and the Ambulance arrived simultaneously with the fire truck, and once the stunt man was on his way to the hospital, the police began to take everyone’s statements. When it was Kylie’s turn to talk, she explained how her sword had been tampered with and that the fall had been intended for her. She told them about the props director and why she suspected that he had been the perpetrator.

The police called Miller in, and after hearing the story, he said, “I don’t understand what is going on. We don’t have a props manager. That position is divided up by the stage manager, hair and make-up team, and the producers.”

One of the officers looked at Kylie and said, “Can you describe who you saw?”

Kylie did, but Miller didn’t think her description sounded like anybody that he’d seen on the set. “We will be canceling our shooting schedule for today,” he told the officers, “so that you can continue your investigation.”

Dinah was waiting for Kylie when she left the room. She had a can of Coke for Kylie, and she was drinking one of her own. “Thank God you’re safe,” Dinah sighed as they walked into the actor’s lounge and sat down. “I wonder what will happen now, though. Will Ethan allow you to continue to act? Will he fire me? Who knows? Who knew that our lives could have been turned around so quickly – and yet it could have been much worse; you could be dead…”

“If you are let go,” Kylie laughed, “look at the bright side: at least you’ll have more time to chase after Stephen.”

Dinah rolled her eyes and smiled. Kylie could find a silver lining in any situation.

Lucas slowed down as they passed the last house before Kylie’s. Dinah looked out the window, and then she turned to Kylie and said, “I see that you have a new neighbor. They moved in quickly, didn’t they? I didn’t see them when I was out running yesterday!”

Kylie shrugged and motioned for Lucas to keep going.

The car stopped at the entrance to Garbo Palace. Kylie and Dinah got out, and Lucas parked the car.

When Lucy saw them arrive, she came out to welcome Kylie. “Mrs. Parker,” she laughed nervously, “you’re finally home. We heard about what happened at the studio and have been anxious to ensure that you are safe.”

“Everything is fine,” Kylie said. “I am safe, but where is Pupu? Why isn’t he here to welcome me home?”

“Pupu has been hiding in his room,” Lucy explained. “I don’t know why, but he refuses to come out!”

“Where’s Lord Ethan?” Kylie asked as she walked directly to Pupu’s room.

“Lord Ethan’s is with the dog,” Lucy replied.

Kylie pushed the door open, and the first thing she saw was Pupu, lying on the floor, with his snout on his paws. Pupu looked sad. Ethan was sitting beside him, on a beanbag chair and silently petting the dog, a man, and his best friend.

“What’s wrong with Pupu?”Kylie wondered. “Does it have anything to do with his vaccine?”

“I don’t think so,” Ethan replied. Kylie walked towards them, and Pupu’s eyes seemed to come to life. “I think it is because you didn’t say goodbye to the hospital before you left. It was awfully selfish of you…”

Kylie kissed Ethan’s nose, pet Pupu, and said, “I’m sorry. That was thoughtless of me.”

Pupu licked Kylie’s hand as if to say, “I forgive you.”

Kylie looked Ethan in the eyes and said, “I will give you a massage tonight to make it up to you, and if you’d like, I will allow you to punish me. After all, I have been a very bad girl!”

“I think that is a very good idea,” Ethan replied. “We should go to a walkthrough. After everything you have put Pupu through, I think that you owe it to him.”

Hearing the word ‘walk’, Pupu jumped up, and his tail stood straight up – and his tongue began to swing back and forth outside of his mouth, throwing spittle all over the place.

Kylie and Ethan had barely begun to walk when Kylie looked at Ethan and said, “Laurence has moved into the Merlin Villa. I wasn’t sure if you remembered that I’d invited him to stay, so I thought that I should remind you.”

Ethan rubbed Pupu’s hair gently. He had come to love the animal, which had come as a surprise to him. He’d never been an animal-loving person. He took a piece of turkey jerky out of his pocket and held it up over Pupu. The dog jumped for a few minutes until, finally, Ethan dropped it into his mouth. “Good dog,” he laughed.

Ethan turned to Kylie and said, “I haven’t forgotten about your father, but I don’t want to think much about him either. You aren’t even his biological daughter, but I can still see why you feel compelled to help him. Even if you find your biological father, this connection you have with Laurence will never go away.

“In fact,” Ethan continued, “even if you find your biological father and he is a good person, your connection with him will never be as strong as your connection to Laurence is. The bonds that are bound in childhood are the ones that stick. I could help you find your biological father, though, if you’d like… In fact, I would do anything for you.”

“Would you break off all of your relations with Vivian?” she wondered.

When Ethan didn’t say anything for a while, Kylie said, “Never mind. I have come to accept the fact that Vivian has some hold on you that, much as you might like to, you cannot break. Perhaps it is something like the bond that Laurence has over me. If I wanted to turn him away, who can say whether or not I would be able to?”

Ethan looked thoughtfully up into the sky, and after a moment, he said, “Honey, I can do this if you want me to.”

Kylie shivered suddenly, and Ethan took off his coat and placed it over her shoulder. He smiled at her and said, “You should know by now that I love you very much. You are the only one I want. Compared to the love I feel for you, my past relationship was nothing but a childish crush.”

Kylie raised her head, and she kissed Ethan’s soft lips. He kissed her back, and after all the foreplay, it was like no other kiss they’d ever shared between them – and he wanted more, and she wanted more. Very quickly, Ethan’s heart rate began to race. He held her by the waist, and they held each other. Neither knew whether, if they separated, they would be able to stand on their own.

Suddenly, Pupu began to pull at the hem of Ethan’s pants, and the couple came apart. Kylie sat down on the grass while he swayed on his feet above her. “What was that” she wondered.

“I don’t know,” Ethan replied, “but I want to shout it from the mountain tops. Let’s announce our marriage at Old Mr. Parker’s birthday!”

Kylie wrapped her arms around his legs and said, “From your lips to God’s ears.”

Suddenly Pupu started to bark at Ethan excitedly again, and he pulled out some more Turkey Jerky for him.

Once the dog was gone, Kylie looked at Ethan and said, “Even though I love you deeply, I would still like you to get down on one knee with a ring and ask me to marry you formally. I have dreamed of these moments since I was a child, and I don’t want to give up on them.”

Chapter 260: The Risk Of Allergic Reaction

By the time Ethan and Kylie returned from their walk, they were both hungry. They had missed dinner, but there were leftovers for them in the fridge. Kylie dished out plates for them, heated them up, and brought them to the table. Lucy had prepared ginger chicken, rice, and vegetable julienne. It was one of Ethan’s favorite dishes, and his eyes lit up when he saw what was on his plate.

When Stephen heard that they were home, he came out of his room and joined them at the table. Kylie took a few bites from her plate, and then she asked Stephen if he’d given any thought to the situation with Sally’s face.

Stephen sighed and said, “I’ve looked into it a bit, but it is not easy to get information about unless you are in the know if you know what I mean. The doctor’s who do these treatments are paid well to keep them as hush as possible. As it turns out, the procedure itself is a kind of plastic surgery; the side effects you’ve seen could be the result of an allergic reaction to hyaluronic acid.”

Kylie frowned, and she said, “I would think these A-List actors would be more careful with their faces.”

“The risk of an allergic reaction is shallow,” Stephen replied, “and as these women get older and older, the risk begins to bother them less and less.”

While they were talking, Dinah came out with a salad bowl, and everyone at the table became very quiet very quickly. She sat down and looked around the table; nobody said a word. Finally, she turned to Stephen and said, “I heard everything, but don’t worry. You can speak freely. I won’t tell a soul.”

“Ethan sighed, and he said, “Aren’t you just the little miss nosey?”

“Whatever,” she shrugged. “Can the allergic reaction be treated?”

“I would have to see the patient first,” Stephen replied.

Suddenly a wicked Cheshire’s grin split Dinah’s face. She snapped her fingers in front of Stephen’s face. “Stephen,” she wondered, “do you still remember the day when we went camping?”

Suddenly Stephen looked as if he’d seen a ghost. “What do you want?” he hissed. “After all that has passed since that night, why would you bring it up now?”

“For starters,” she laughed, “I would like you to get me some more food and top off my glass.”

Like a servant, Stephen stood up to do her bidding.

Kylie could see what was going on, but she didn’t understand it, so she excused herself from the table.

The minute Kylie left the table, Dinah spat the food from her mouth into the trash can. She pointed at Stephen with a fork and said: “What do you want to do?!”

Stephen looked at her calmly and said, “I want you to close your fucking mouth!”

Dinah laughed and said, “It’s not even a possibility.”

“Whatever,” Stephen sighed. “I’m going to my room.”

Stephen turned into the direction of his room, but Dinah called after him. She said, “I know what you’re hiding! You don’t want anyone to know about Ju, your secret lover!”

“Shut up!” Stephen’s screamed.

Stephen was normally a decent and gentleman, but now he looked like an angry demon. Dinah shut her mouth. She was shocked. She had never seen him like this. Seeing him like this, she wanted to apologize, but she was afraid to go near him. Instead, they stared each other down in silence, and Stephen didn’t go to his room until Ethan was gone.

Dinah hadn’t realized that their camping trip would be such a sore spot for Stephen. She had hoped to use it to get his attention; nothing more. Now that she had awoken the beast inside of him, she didn’t know what to do. She wanted to ask Ethan for his advice, but she was afraid that Stephen would find out and be even madder at her than he already was. Not knowing what else to do, she abandoned the situation and went up to her room.

Kylie was already naked when Ethan walked into his room. She was sprawled out on his bed in a sexy position, and her smile practically lit up the room. It wasn’t until she crawled off of the bed that he realized that she wasn’t completely naked. She wore a collar around her neck, and a leash trailed from it on the ground.

Kylie pranced over to where he was standing, looked up, and said, “My Lord, do you want me to massage your body first, or do you want to go straight to the punishment and humiliation?”

Ethan looked down and said, “I want you to take off my clothes and massage my hard member.”

Kylie slowly undid his pants, slid them down his legs, and helped him out of them. She stood up next and pulled his shirt above his head. She kissed him once on the lips and slowly kissed her way down his body, paying special attention to his collarbone, nipples, and abdominals.

Once Kylie got to his groin, she nipped at his hard member with her teeth. It was flaccid, which confused her. His member had always turned rock hard at the sight of her naked body. She looked at him and said, “Don’t worry. We will take care of this.”

Kylie slowly pulled Ethan’s underwear down, and, as soon as his hard member was out, she began to lick it. She played with his testicles, sucked his dick, and even pushed her finger into his anus, but his prick refused to stand up.

Finally, Ethan pulled her to her feet. He looked her in the eyes and said, “I’m sorry. Maybe a massage is what I really wanted after all. Why don’t you join me in the bathtub?”

“As you wish,” Kylie replied as she handed her leash to him and led him into the bathroom. Once there, she ran a hot bubble bath. Kylie climbed in first, and he climbed in after her. “This feels really nice,” Ethan said. “I’m sorry about earlier.”

“Don’t even think about it?” Kylie laughed as she began to massage his neck and back.

Before they’d gotten in, Kylie had taken a bottle of wine from the cooler and two glasses. Now that they were comfortable, she opened the bottle and poured them each a glass. Ethan took him and reveled in the fragrance, which he found almost overwhelming. He took a sip, and his lips were instantly dyed red.

Kylie took a sip from her glass, and then she kissed him on the neck. After a while, they switched positions to massage her back, and the whole experience was completely different from any that they’d previously shared. It was nice; so nice that Kylie found herself imagining what it would be like if Ethan had permanent erectile dysfunction – surely, it would not be bad, at least for her.

Kylie twisted her body and wrapped her arms around his neck. Grinning happily, she couldn’t think of a single thing to say
