Chapter 296: You’re A Genius

The moment Kylie heard Fannie’s voice on the phone, she said, “Fannie, you told me that Ethan was sick. What was his illness?”

At first, Fannie said nothing, but Kylie urged her. “Fannie,” she said, “I am worried about him. I need to know what you know!”

Again there was no reply, and Kylie was about to scream, but then she heard the soft sound of Fannie’s snoring. Kylie chuckled and shouted, “Fannie, Fannie, Fannie! Wake up, you little bitch!”

Fannie awoke with a start, and she said, “Oh, Kylie? What’s up? It’s way past midnight. It’s almost morning!”

“If Ethan is sick,” Kylie snapped, “then I need to know what’s wrong with him!”

“I thought you didn’t care!” Fannie snapped back.

Kylie didn’t know how to explain everything to Fannie, so she made up an excuse. “I just want to know if he is infectious. We slept together. If he has AIDS, I need to go and see my doctor!”

“It’s not AIDS,” Fannie scoffed, “but it will kill him…”

When Kylie heard this, she felt as though the wind had been knocked out of her. “Now, you really have to tell me,” she gasped. “We may not be together, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t still care about his well being…”

“Fine,” Fannie replied. “He is lovesick.”

“What the fuck?!?!” Kylie hissed as she canceled the call.

Fannie stared at the phone in her hand, confused. She had no idea why Kylie had called her in the middle of the night. She had hoped to go back to sleep, but she realized that she was hungry, so she got up to make herself a sandwich. On the way down, though, she noticed that Nate’s light was on, so she made him a sandwich as well.

Fannie was humming as she walked down the hall to Nate’s room, but the minute she walked in, she dropped the plates to the floor and uttered a little shriek. Nate was there as she’d suspected, but he was spread out naked on his bed, and his cock stood up like the leaning tower of Pisa.

Not knowing what else to do, Fannie stepped out of the room and closed the door behind her. Before she made it more than two steps, though, she heard Nate calling her back, and as if she were in a dream that she had no control over, she turned back towards his room and began to walk.

Before long, Fannie was sitting beside Nate on his bed. She held his hand and dared not look between his legs. They talked for a little while, and then, before she realized what was about to happen, he pulled her closer to himself and ran the back of his hand over her breast. She was no stranger to sex, though, so she wasn’t afraid. Over the years, she had played sex games with her older brother many times, so, when he came in for a kiss, she was ready for it.

Nate was breathing heavily, and his breath smelled of alcohol, but she didn’t mind. She wanted him, and she would take him any way that she could. As she kissed him, she moaned his name; as she kissed him, she pushed her mouth into his mouth and sucked his tongue into her mouth. Her cunt felt like it was on fire as it shot electric pulses of pleasure throughout her body; as it leaked vaginal fluids through her panties and pajama pants.

She felt Nate’s hands all over her body, but, as much as she enjoyed what he was doing, she needed it to end or thought she would die. “Fuck me,” she moaned as she pushed down her panties. “Fuck me,” she moaned as she directed his cock into her cunt. “Fuck me,” she moaned.

After only a short time, Nate finally reached his orgasm. As he slowed down, he put his head beside Fannie’s neck. He closed his eyes then, and just before he fell asleep, he whispered two words into her ear: “Happy birthday.”

Hearing this, Fannie frowned, and tears welled up in her eyes. In his drunken state, he had mistaken her for another woman. As the tears spilled over her cheeks, she used the sleeve of his shirt to wipe her nether parts, and then she pulled up her pants and panties. She couldn’t believe what she’d just done, and as she slipped out of his room, she decided to keep her encounter with Nate a secret. Of course, she wanted to tell Kylie, but after their conversation over the phone, it felt wrong.

Having nothing better to do, Fannie had a long shower, and, by the time she got out, the sun was just beginning to rise. After getting dressed, she freed herself a couple of eggs and took them out back so that she could enjoy the sights and sounds that morning brought to her. She had only been outside for a few moments, though when Nate joined her and sat down beside her.

Fannie turned to look at Nate and was surprised how refreshed he looked. “You look well,” she said. “I thought you’d have a hangover… You don’t normally drink so much. What was the occasion?”

“It was a friend’s birthday,” Nate replied. “You don’t need to worry about me, though. I never get hangovers. I have a question for you, though. Did you come into my room last night?”

Fannie turned her head away from him and said, “I went to bed at an early time yesterday. Why would I go to your room?”

“I have no idea,” Nate replied, “but I dreamt that you were in my bed, and it felt very real!”

For a while, they sat silently as the sun rose, and the birds began to chatter with each other. After about an hour, Mrs. Bass joined them. She had a glass of milk for each of them and a plate of pancakes for Nate. They thanked her, and when she asked them if they wanted anything else, they both requested coffee.

Once Mrs. Bass was back inside, Nate raised the glass to make a mock toast. “Milk,” he chuckled, “that woman must think that we are still children!”

Fannie shrugged. “Milk is good for you,” she replied. “It’s filled with protein. If you want to stay strong, you should drink lots of milk!”

Nate smiled and said, “My body’s strong. I am a man. I want coffee!”

When Mrs. Bass returned, she saw how nice Nate and Fannie looked sitting side by side. As she gave them their coffee, she addressed her son. “Nate,” she began, “the two of you look so good together. You seem to get on well. If you don’t make your move, she will slip through your fingers, and you will regret it forever.”

“What’s the rush?” Nate argued. “I’m still a young boy!”

Fannie laughed at that. “You’re almost thirty!” she scoffed. “Practically, an old man!”

Hearing this, Nate turned to Fannie angrily. “You’ve crossed a line with that last comment,” he hissed as he got up and headed off to his room to get ready for work. On his way, though, he looked back at Fannie. Something funny had happened overnight, and he was determined to get to the bottom of it. He’d had the sexiest dream of his life, and when he woke up, his cock had been caked with semen and wet core fluid.

When Kylie arrived in Hamorna with Elizabeth, Nina was there to welcome them. She introduced her two friends, and everyone exchanged pleasantries. It was a good day. The weather was nice, and everyone was looking forward to a pleasant day on set. As they chatted, Kylie explained to Nina that Elizabeth would be the new face of Garcia Entertainment.

“Kylie,” Nina jokes, “aren’t you afraid that Elizabeth will be more popular than you?”

Kylie laughed, and she said, “Never. What’s good for the gander is good for the goose.”

As they walked, Nina went over the numbers for Trailblazer. “I don’t understand why,” she said, “but there are fewer and fewer people watching our show. Our ratings are dropping at an alarming rate…”

Kylie thought about it for a second and said, “There is no reason why we can’t change things around mid-season; change the pace of the events, increase the danger, bring in new games, or even trade out some of the players. We could increase the audience’s interaction with the players. What do you think?”

“Kylie!” Nina exclaimed. “You’re a genius!”

Kylie smiled mysteriously then and asked Nina who her first two guests were, but Nina just laughed. “So it’s true,” she said. “You are working for William!”

Kylie returned her friend’s smile and said, “You figured me out. But can you help me out?”

“No problem,” Nina replied. “I appreciate that you asked me in a straightforward manner. Too many people sneak about, beat around the bush, and lie outright – so your honesty is a breath of fresh air. In truth, it isn’t even that big of a deal!”

“Thank you,” Kylie replied. “William will be ecstatic when I pass the information on to him!”

Chapter 297: She Will Never Know What Hit Her

Once Nina was gone, Kylie turned to Elizabeth and said, “You must be careful here and stay at the hotel for now. I’ll soon be back.”

“Kylie, are you going outside alone?” Elizabeth wondered with a worried tone of voice.

“Lucas is with me,” Kylie replied. “We’re going to meet an old friend. I’ll be fine.”

Elizabeth looked at Kylie curiously, but she nodded and said no more.

Lucas was waiting for her on the street with a car he’d rented, and once Kylie was inside, she showed him a map on her phone and pointed out where she wanted to go. Lucas gave the map a quick glance and began to drive. They were only on the road for a short time, though, when Lucas looked over at Kylie and said, “We’re being followed.”

Kylie looked behind them and saw a Volkswagen. “I saw them when we first got off the boat,” she admitted, “but I’m not worried. If they want to harm us, they would have done it already.”

“Nevertheless,” Lucas replied as he picked up their speed, “it doesn’t bode well with me.”

As Lucas picked up speed, so did the Volkswagen. They kept their distance, but they made no effort at being subtle. “They’re not alone,” Lucas said suddenly. “There are three of them in total.”

Kylie checked out the window again and confirmed what Lucas had said. Smiling, she said, “Don’t worry. I think that they’re here to help. I recognize the driver of the first car. His name is Ricky. He is one of Ethan’s guards.”

Lucas pulled to the curb as they reached their destination, and as Kylie got out of the car, she said, “Give me thirty minutes. If I’m not out, go and talk to the men in the Volkswagen.”

It was one minute to three in the afternoon. Lucas looked at her with a surprised expression on his face. “Will I be safe?” he wondered.

“Don’t worry,” Kylie replied. “I’ll be back as quickly as I can.”

Lucas nodded, and after Kylie left the car, he locked the doors and pulled down the driver’s chair. If anyone drove past him, he didn’t want them to notice him.

Kylie walked up to the house and knocked. She waited a few minutes, knocked again, and then an elderly man appeared. “Excuse me,” he said. “Who are you looking for?”

Kylie smiled politely and said, “I’m here to see Dora Hilton.”

The aged man looked at her skeptically and said, “I’m sorry, miss, but Dora is not receiving guests today.”

The old man was just about to close the door in Kylie’s face, but she inserted her foot and would not let him shut her out so easily. “Sir,” she said. “Lord Ethan sent me here – it is very important.”

The aged man’s eyes lit up at the mention of Ethan’s name. He looked Kylie over and said, “Alright. Come inside and wait in the living room. I will call on Dora. If she doesn’t want to see you, though, you will have to leave. Are we clear?”

“Crystal,” Kylie replied as she stepped into the house. The aged man led her to the living room and, once she was seated, he went off towards the servant’s quarters. This is odd, Kylie thought. Shouldn’t he have gone upstairs to Dora’s room? Once he was out of sight, Kylie seized the moment and snuck up the stairs in the direction of Dora’s room. As she approached the girl’s door, though, she heard a strange buzzing sound.

The door was slightly open, and Kylie was able to see in without being seen, and what she saw was a complete surprise. Dora was lying on her bed half-naked with a vibrator pressed to her cunt. Her eyes were closed as she moaned. At first, Kylie was disgusted, but as an idea popped into her head, she smiled.

Kylie pulled out her phone, opened the camera application, and proceeded to make a movie of her own. I will pay that bitch back, she thought. And when I do, she will never know what hit her!

By the time Dora came downstairs, Kylie was back on the couch, and no one had any idea that she’d seen what she’d seen. Dora sat down across from her, frowned, and said, “It’s been a while, Miss Hilton. I never imagined that you would have the balls to show up at my door. You’ve seen the video. What more is there to say?”

Kylie smiled, and she said, “The devil is often in the details. Things aren’t always as they appear to be. Who is to say that it was Ethan in the video? Perhaps the video was nothing more than smoke and mirrors; a fake.”

“How could it be a fake?” Dora scoffed. “You’ve been with Ethan for years! Don’t you recognize your master’s voice? If I had the opportunity to do it over again, I would have insisted that Ethan showed his face. Then there would be no doubt! You may as well accept that your relationship has run its course. That ship has sailed. Walk away already. You are embarrassing yourself.”

Dora pointed to a tattoo on her collarbone. “Do you see this?” she asked. “It is Ethan’s name; it is written in abstract art. He insisted I have it done so that everyone would know that I belong to him.”

Seeing the tattoo made any hope that Kylie had disappeared. She still wondered, though, “Why wouldn’t Ethan allow his face to be seen in the video? If he loves you as much as you say that he does, it doesn’t make any sense…”

Dora looked at Kylie as if she was an idiot, and she said, “You of all people should know that he is a businessman. He is not an actor. He was camera shy. Don’t overthink it.”

“That’s not true,” Kylie replied. “Ethan has done work as a stuntman, and he was never camera shy. He has even shot one or two scenes as the lead in a romance.”

Dora looked up at the ceiling. Kylie seemed to have a comeback for everything she said, and she was starting to feel humiliated. After a few minutes, she found that she was able to collect herself. She looked at Kylie and began to laugh. “If you were to die today,” she said, “Ethan would forget about you by Friday!”

Kylie sneered and said, “If I were to die today, Ethan would be dead of a broken heart long before he had the chance to forget about me!”

“We’ll see about that,” Dora hissed as she clapped her hands three times. Suddenly two bulky guards appeared. Each one took one of Kylie’s arms and pulled her to her feet. “Throw this bitch into the basement!” Dora commanded. “We’ll figure out once and for all who Ethan loves the most!”

“Let me go,” Kylie shouted. “You won’t get away with this. Some people know where I’ve gone!”

As the guards struggled with Kylie, Dora plucked the phone out of Kylie’s pocket. “You won’t need this,” she laughed. Then, as if as an afterthought, she said, “My address is not listed. How did you find it?”

Kylie looked Dora in the eyes and spat in her face. “Ethan gave it to me,” she snapped, “and when he learns that I am missing, this will be the first place that he looks!”

“Be that as it may,” Dora replied as she wiped the spittle off of her face, “we have known each other for decades. If I say that I haven’t seen you, he will believe me. Furthermore, now that he knows that you are with William, he is even less likely to come to your rescue!”

“You are so sure of yourself,” Kylie sighed as she checked the time on the clock. “You are so cocky. Why don’t we bet on the outcome of this situation that we find ourselves in?”

“What are the terms?” Dora wondered; her curiosity perked.

“Let’s bet on what will happen if I can’t escape within the next two minutes…” Kylie suggested. She had entered the house at three PM. It was now three twenty-eight.

At exactly three twenty-nine, Lucas exited his car and made a mad dash for the Volkswagen that had parked behind him. Seeing him, two guards stepped out of the car, and Lucas quickly explained everything that he knew to them.

Chapter 298: Are You Stars?

Lucas burst through Dora’s front door, with two of Ethan’s guards right behind him. They each carried a semi-automatic weapon in their hands and, when Dora’s guards saw them, they released Kylie immediately. Dora looked at the guards and could not believe what she was seeing. She knew these men and, even now that Kylie was with William, Ethan still cared about her enough to protect her. Whatever hold Kylie had over him was beyond her ability to reason out.

Ricky, one of Ethan’s guards, nodded to Dora and, with a sarcastic tone of voice, asked her how she was doing. Dora frowned and glared at him as if she had all the power in the world. Dora looked to her own guards and gave them a subtle look. Be on guard, that look said. Perhaps there is a chance still to turn this situation around.

Lucas ran to where Kylie was standing and embraced her. “Kylie,” he whispered, “are you alright? Did they hurt you?”

“It was nothing I couldn’t handle,” she replied, laughing as they parted. “Dora is like one of the villains in those cartoons from the 80s. She plots and plots and plots, but her plans never come to fruition. Thanks for rescuing me, by the way.”

“I am just glad that you are safe,” Lucas sighed. “You really need to stop getting yourself into these situations!”

Kylie walked over to where Dora was standing and retrieved her cell phone, and then she left in high spirits, with Lucas and Ethan’s two guards slightly behind her.

Kylie got in the back seat of the Volkswagen with Ricky. She had heard about him before, but this was the first time that they’d met face to face. Ricky sat up straight with his hands folded on his knees. He kept a polite distance away from Kylie and tried to avoid contact. “Mrs. Parker,” he wondered, “how did you know that it was us following you?”

“I suppose I didn’t know for sure,” Kylie admitted. “When I thought about it, though, I couldn’t imagine who else it might have been.”

“That was very smart of you,” Ricky said, and you were right. “Ethan ordered us to keep you safe at all costs.”

Kylie yawned and thanked him. It had been a long day, and she was tired, so Ricky let her be.

Ricky was Ethan’s right-hand man, and he knew that he was also referred to as ‘Ethan’s eyes’ sometimes. These were honorary titles that he took very seriously. He made Ethan’s goals his own, and he stood ready to protect those things that Ethan cherished, and in his own way, he loved Ethan – so, when Ethan hurt, he felt that pain along with him.

Ricky hoped that things would turn out for Ethan with Kylie, but he feared the worst. He had seen how tenderly he’d packed her suitcase, and it seemed that he’d finally given up hope of ever being with her. Now that he was sitting beside her, he tried to think of something to say that might bring them together, but words eluded him.

The car stopped at the hotel where Kylie was staying, and Ricky shook her gently to wake her up. “We’re here,” he whispered. “I will walk you to your room. Rest assured that while you are in Hamorna, you will be safe. Ethan has directed me to stay by your side.”

Kylie thanked him as she yawned and, before she could forget, she handed him her phone. “Give this to Ethan for me,” she said. “He will know what to do with it.”

Ricky took the phone from her and stuffed it into his pocket.

Before Kylie fell asleep that night, she called Lucas and arranged for him to purchase a new phone for her.

The moment Ricky got back to his car, he updated Ethan on what had just happened, “Ethan,” he explained, “Mrs. Parker gave me her phone to give to you. She said that you’d know what to do with it!”

“I don’t get it,” Ethan replied, confused. “Kylie would never go anywhere without her phone… You stay with her at the hotel, and I will send one of my peons to get the phone.”

Kylie had only been sleeping a short time when someone knocked at her door. At first, the sound slipped into her dream, but as the knocking became more incessant, it pulled her out of her dreams. “Wait a minute!” she shouted. “This had better be important! I was sound asleep!”

Kylie threw on a housecoat, went to the door and, without even asking who was there, she opened it. In truth, she had expected it to be one of Ethan’s men, so she was completely taken aback when she came face to face with Stephen. “What are you doing here?” Kylie asked.

Stephen was wearing a sweatsuit, and he had a bundle of roses in his hand. “Here,” he said, “these are for you.”

Kylie took the flowers and invited him in. “It is late,” she said, “so let’s make this visit short.”

Stephen smiled as he stepped into her room. “That’s fine,” he said. “I haven’t seen you for a while, so I just wanted to stop by and say hello.”

Kylie put the fresh roses into a vase and took a deep breath. The smell was heavenly. “Why are you in Hamorna?” Kylie wondered.

“I was invited by the Hamorna College of Academia to do a speech,” Stephen replied. “It is no big deal, but you are welcome to attend…”

“Wild horses couldn’t keep me away,” Kylie laughed. “Text me the details, and I will even try to stay awake the entire time!”

This was a running joke between them. Kylie was the artsy type, while Stephen had a scientific mind. Neither truly understood the other’s work, and yet their friendship flourished.

The two chatted amicably for a while, but suddenly things got serious as Stephen brought up Ethan. “What is going on between the two of you,” he wondered.

“Nothing,” Kylie sighed. “Absolutely nothing.”

“I don’t believe it,” Stephen snorted. “What happened? Did he cheat on you or something?”

“Maybe,” Kylie replied. “I honestly don’t know. I thought that he had, but I am not so certain anymore…”

Stephen looked at her with empathy, but all she saw was a pity. “Don’t look at me that way,” she said. “I am not broken, and I certainly don’t need to be fixed.”

“Sorry,” Stephen replied lamely.

Kylie looked up at the ceiling, and she said, “You sometimes seem too familiar. Have we met before, in another time or place perhaps?”

“Is it your friend from the internet that I remind you of?” Stephen wondered.

Kylie didn’t answer his question immediately. She had called Stephen by his name since the first time that they’d met, and she’d always had this strange feeling that they’d known each other for years. She looked at him curiously. “Are you Stars?” she asked him incredulously.

“What if I am?” Stephen replied.

Kylie was struck dumb for a full minute, but when she found her voice, she said, “If you are Stars, then I will slap you across the face!”

Stephen remained as calm as ever. “Why?” he wondered. “Is it because I lied to you?”

Kylie looked at him. She ran her hands through her hair nervously. A part of her accepted what he’d said the minute that he’d said it, but if Stephen was Stars, then it felt to her as though she’d lost Stars. In her heart, she had held Stars up on a pedestal, and it was devastating to see his persona reduced to the man who sat across from her. “It can’t be,” she gasped.

When Stephen heard the tone in Kylie’s voice, his heart broke; he could tell that she was disappointed. He had always feared that she might be, but in the end, he’d always managed to convince himself that she wouldn’t be.

Stephen got up and brought back two glasses of water. He handed one to Kylie and said, “I don’t know what to say. I can’t even remember when or why I created this second persona. In real life, I am such a prude, scared of everything. By creating Stars, I gave myself permission to be the person I wanted to be… Does that make any sense?”

“I don’t know,” Kylie sighed. She took a sip of the water and was surprised by how good it tasted. “What is in this water?” she wondered as she took a bigger sip.

Within a few seconds, Kylie’s vision began to get foggy, and she said, “I think you need to go now, I am feeling awfully tired.” The last few words came out as mumbled gibberish.

Stephen walked behind her, took the water, and placed it on the table. “We don’t want that to spill,” he laughed. A moment later, Kylie lost consciousness and fell backward. Luckily for her, though, Stephen was there to catch her, and he lowered her gently to the floor.

***

When Lucas returned with a new cell phone for Kylie, he was surprised when she didn’t answer the door. He knocked a few more times, and then he became worried, and eventually, he had no choice but to have the hotel staff let him in – it didn’t matter though. Even before they’d arrived, he knew that she was gone, a victim of some unknown foul play.

“This shouldn’t have happened,” he cried as he went through the apartment. “Ethan’s guards should have kept him safe!”

When Ricky got the news that Kylie was missing, the first thing he did was call Ethan. The second thing he did was demand access to the hotel’s security cameras.

When Lucas arrived back downstairs, Ricky looked at him and said, “Don’t worry. We will have this figured out in no time!”

Chapter 299: Well Done

By the time Ethan and Nate arrived, Ricky had the surveillance up, and he was trying to review the footage. Lucas was with them, and neither of them was having much luck with the cameras. Nate told them that Stephen was in town and suggested that they call him. When Stephen answered the phone, though, he explained that he was with a professor and too busy.

“Forget that,” Nate cried. “Come to the Hilton Hotel and Resort. Kylie’s in trouble.”

“Kylie’s also in Hamorna?” Stephen replied. “I didn’t even know that she was here. I will be there as soon as possible.”

The call went dead in Nate’s hand, and he looked up at Ethan. “Do you suspect Stephen?” he wondered. “I don’t think it was him, but maybe it was Dora. She has a real vendetta against Kylie.”

“I don’t know,” Ethan replied. “It is a real mystery. By all rights, if she was taken, she would have struggled. She would have screamed, and people would have heard the commotion.”

Suddenly the door burst open, and Stephen appeared, and they led him up to the ‘scene of the crime.’ Stephen entered the room first, and his nose scrunched up unpleasantly. “What is that smell?” he wondered.

Nate sniffed the air. “It smells like perfume, but Kylie doesn’t wear perfume!”

“There you have it,” Stephen exclaimed. “For the second time today, Dora has abducted Kylie! She is always wearing perfume!”

Ethan turned on Stephen and demanded to know how he knew that Dora wore perfume. They didn’t know each other, so, he said, it was highly suspicious.

Stephen scowled and said, “You have no right to doubt me. Even with all of your guards, you failed to protect your girl!”

“Be that as it may,” Ethan hissed, “I have my eye on you. I don’t trust you one bit, and if it turns out that you have done anything to my girl, you will rue the day that you were born!”

Stephen and Ethan continued to argue for a full half-hour until Nate couldn’t handle it for a second longer. “Stop!” he shouted. “There is nothing productive about what the two of you are doing!”

Ethan looked at Nate and took a second to collect himself, and then he apologized. “You are right,” he said, “but what is our next move?” Personally, I don’t think that Dora would come after Kylie so soon after her last attempt, and all that I have on Stephen is speculation…”

“All that we can do is wait,” Ricky said, answering for Nate.

Lucas was just about to argue the logic of this plan when the phone he’d brought for Kylie rang. He looked at it for a moment. “The screen says ‘unknown number,” he said. Then, as he accepted the call, he handed the phone to Ethan.

Ethan put the phone on the speaker and said, “Who is this, and what do you want?”

A voice spoke from the other end of the line. It had been put through a filter, though, and sounded like a robot. “Give me Michael Cole,” the voice demanded, “and I will give you Kylie Finch.”

And then the line went dead in his hand.

Ethan looked around the room and said, “Well… I suppose that rules out everyone in the room, including Stephen. I apologize. Perhaps it actually was Dora. I can’t think of anyone else that it could be…”

“Who’s Michael Cole?” Lucas asked.

“He was arrested for smuggling children,” Stephen explained. “It happened 20 years ago. Dora was one of his victims. Dora has tried to have Michael killed many times but failed every time. No doubt, this is nothing but another one of her attempts on his life. Her plans are often overdramatic, and they always fall through in the end.”

Ethan wore a poker face while they talked of Michael Cole. Dora wasn’t the only one who wanted that pervert dead. He had no idea though why she’d drag Kylie into one of her schemes. He turned to Ricky and said, “I want two cars at her house at all times. If she moves, you move. Never let her out of your site and keep me updated if you see anything that could be relevant to Kylie’s status.”

Ricky nodded and left without a word.

Ethan turned to Lucas and said, “Contact Hamorna TV. Let them know what is going on. Tell them that if it causes them any inconvenience that I will make it up to them financially. Also, tell them to keep it under their hats. The last thing we need is to have this turned into a media circus.”

Ethan turned to Stephen, but before he could say anything, Stephen looked at him and said, “The likes of you will not direct me. Let me have a look at all the monitor videos, and I will have this whole thing figured out before the hour is up.”

Nate handed Stephen the laptop, and in no time, he turned it around so that they could see the monitor. He had a frustrated look on his face. “The footage has been tampered with,” he said as he pointed to the screen’s smiley face. “This is all that there is; just hours and hours worth of smiles…”

Seeing this, Ethan went into a rage. He grabbed the computer off the desk and smashed it against the wall. “Fuck!” he shouted. “Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!”

Eventually, Ethan and Stephen were the only two left in the room. Everyone else had been given a task, and they were long gone. After Ethan had smashed the computer, no one was anxious to be there any longer than they needed to be.

Ethan lit up a cigarette, took a drag, and faced Stephen. “Well done,” he said. “It seems that you have committed the perfect crime.”

“Prove it!” Stephen hissed. “Even if I did do it, bully me! I told you that if you cheated on her that I would make her way from you!”

Ethan smiled and punched Stephen in the face as hard as he could. There was a satisfying crunch as his nose broke, and it began to bleed. Stephen was so stunned for a moment that he didn’t even bring up his hands to try to stop the bleeding.

Ethan was like a savage lion then. He lifted Stephen up, pressed him against the wall, and punched him repeatedly. When Ethan finally loosened his hands, Stephen’s body slipped down the wall. He was crying like a baby, but Ethan couldn’t have cared less.

“Kylie is mine,” Ethan hissed as he tried to catch his breath, “and if you come after her again, I will kill you!”

Ethan left Stephen and went to get some fresh air. He looked in the sky. It was clear, and everything seemed peaceful, but when he looked back down at his hands, all he saw was blood. Ethan sighed as he reached into his pocket and retrieved Kylie’s phone. He turned it on, hoping that there might be some clues in it.

Going on intuition, the first application that he opened was her photo gallery, and the first thing he saw was a video. He pressed play. It was a homemade porno. There was a girl on a bed, and she was masturbating – and it was Dora!

Ethan turned the phone off. He wasn’t surprised that the video existed. After all, this wasn’t Dora’s first porno. She used to make them all the time, he knew. He was surprised though that the video was on Kylie’s phone. He couldn’t make heads or tails of it. If it was somehow connected to her disappearance, he couldn’t see how!

Ethan finished his cigarette and lit another. He normally didn’t smoke so much, but this was an exception. He opened Kylie’s email box. There was an email sent from Dora to Kylie with a sex tape attached. He opened it and was shocked by what he saw. In the video, Dora was fucking some man who both looked and sounded like he did.

“It is no wonder she was so upset with me,” he cried. “Watching this must have been torture for her. I would never have guessed that Dora had it in her to be so vindictive.” This was a side of her that he’d never seen. That being said, he still didn’t know why Kylie had wanted him to have the phone.

Chapter 300: Stephen’s Confession

Kylie slowly came to consciousness. Her sight was blurry, and her head was in a daze, and yet, when Stephen put his face in front of hers, she recognized him immediately. “You’re awake,” he said. “Are you hungry? Thirsty?”

Stephen brought a glass of water to her lips. “Drink,” he said. But when he brought it to her lips, she shut her lips uptight.

Stephen looked hurt. “Why are you acting like this?” he cried. “You know how much I care about you.”

Kylie sat up and looked around. The room she was in was pure pink. It was decorated with unicorns and hello kitty dolls. There were pink curtains, a pink sofa, pink chairs, a pink carpet, and even a pair of pink slippers by the edge of the bed.

Stephen smiled. “Do you like it?” His eyes were full of affection, and she could see that he genuinely wanted to make her happy. “I’ve been preparing this room for 10 years. I thought that you would never come, but here you are.”

Kylie stepped into the slippers. They were warm and soft, but Kylie felt cold. “I did not expect to be abducted by you,” she said.

“It wasn’t supposed to be like this,” Stephen sighed. “They did turn out this way, though, so it is best that we make the best of it. I’ll tell you everything you want to know, though.

“Ethan asked me to take care of you before he went abroad. That was years ago. We were close friends back then. The reason Ethan had to leave was that he was ill and he needed to go to a special hospital. About one month later, after he had left, it had dawned on me that I had never met the girl that I was supposed to be watching. That was you.

“The first time I tried to approach you, I went to your school. On that day, I witnessed Khloe putting a pregnancy test into your backpack to criticize you for your amoral behavior. I thought you would cry, but you were tough. You were calm, and you denied that the test was yours, and you never brought it up again. When I saw that, I couldn’t help but respect you.

“Not only did I respect you, but I also came to realize how special you were. I still hadn’t met you, but I could see that you were one in a million. Your peers in school, they taunted you. The boys fought with you, and for some reason that I could not fathom, they did not see what I did. Throughout it all, though, you stayed positive.

“As time passed by, I came to realize that I’d fallen in love with you. You were my best friend’s girl, though, and I kept my feelings to myself. In order to stay connected with you, I created Stars. I never meant any harm and, now that I have told you my tale, I am sure you can see that this is where you belong.”

Kylie looked at him and smiled. “I appreciate your honesty,” she said, “but I think that we would be much better off if we just remained friends.”

Stephen laughed, and he said, “I respect your decision. You are free to go, but if you leave now, you may miss out on the only opportunity that you will ever have to test his loyalty to you…”

Kylie froze, and she looked at him curiously. She had given her phone to Ethan for the sheer purpose of testing his loyalty. Ethan had once gone out of his way to save Dora. She was curious to see what he would do now that she was in danger. She was also curious to see how Ethan would respond when he saw the video that Dora had made. If Ethan punished Dora, Kylie would be happy. If he chose to forgive her, though, Kylie would know to let him go.

“Do you know about Ethan’s connection to your biological father?” Stephen wondered.

Kylie turned to him suspiciously and asked him what he knew about her biological father, and she warned him not to lie.

Stephen invited Kylie to sit down, and she came to him. He wrapped one arm over her shoulder, and like an elderly brother, he said what he had to say: “Your father was a hoodlum on the street. He was arrested for selling drugs. In prison, he knew a guy who was about to be executed. Before that guy died, though, he taught your father how to make quick money.”

Kylie’s hands were clenched into fists at her sides as she thought about all of the people in her life that had lied to her. “What was the lesson?” she wondered. “Do you even know?”

“It is most heinous,” Stephen replied. “When your father was in maximum security, he learned the art of stealing, selling, and smuggling children. In fact, he was part of the group that tortured Ethan. When he went back to prison, he was given two life sentences back to back. Now that he has rectal cancer, though, he was given early parole…”

Hearing this, Kylie began to cry. Never in a million years would she understand the pain that Ethan had endured at the hands of her biological father, and she wondered if he ever truly get over it. She thought about his temper and how he treated her in bed, and it made her shiver. There was nothing she could do, though, and they both knew it…

“What is my father’s name?” she wondered.

“Michael Cole,” Stephen replied.”Many good men died on the day he was brought to justice!”

“Was William’s father one of the ones that died?” she wondered.

Stephen nodded. “I was there too. We had been assigned to capture a drug dealer. William’s father was one of our undercover agents. On his way to send messages to me, your father discovered him by chance. Ethan was so angry. We tried to help him calm down, but he was too focused on Michael ever to calm down.

“In the end, the exercise failed, and no one could believe how it had all gone so wrong.”

They were both quiet for a while, and then Kylie said, “Dinah told me many people were killed when that happened…”

Stephen gave her an affirmative nod. He sighed and said, “It’s a dog eat dog world out there… In the end, it was Ethan who captured Michael. Of course, if he hadn’t been on the police force, he would have just killed Michael outright – which is what he would have preferred!”

Kylie frowned, and she said, “It is obvious that you hate my father, and why wouldn’t you? From everything you’ve told me, I can see that he is a monster! I never knew him, though, so I have a request; before you kill him, would you allow me to see him? At least once?”

“If I find Michael before the police arrive,” he replied, “I’ll let you meet him. It is highly unlikely that it will go down that way, though…”
