Chapter 321: Do I Know You

As soon as Kylie and Stephen left Garcia Entertainment, they drove together to Stephen’s private clinic, where he practiced as a surgeon and a psychologist. When they arrived, there was a middle-aged woman in the parking lot. She approached Stephen and shook his hand excitedly. “Thank you so much!” she exclaimed. “You cured my son of his Autism.”

Stephen frowned when he heard this high praise, and he said, “Ma’am, there is no cure for Autism. I am glad that your son seems to be doing better, but this will always be an uphill battle for him. Keep bringing him to see me and, above all, never fight with your husband in front of him. That is the kind of trauma that, for a boy like him, is irreversible.”

“I will follow your directions,” the woman said. Then, after shaking his hand one more time, she wandered off in the direction of her car. Once she was out of sight, Stephen put his arm around Kylie’s shoulder and led her to his office.

As Kylie and Stephen passed the reception desk, the receptionist’s face broke out into a broad smile. “Kylie,” she gushed, “is it really you?!?!”

Kylie looked at her awkwardly. “It is me,” she replied. “Do I know you?”

“Not really,” the secretary admitted. “I am just another one of your loyal fans. I even asked for Ethan’s autograph when I was climbing the mountains in Connell…”

Kylie looked at her curiously and asked who she was referring to.

“Ethan!” she replied emphatically. “He was the guy who had surgery. He is tall and handsome, but he had leg problems…”

“I’m sorry,” Kylie sighed, “but none of that sounds familiar to me. If you’re a fan of mine, though, I could sign something for you.”

The secretary looked to Stephen for permission, and he nodded. “I have work to do,” he said, “but go ahead and take a break. You’ve earned it!”

After Kylie signed a photo for the secretary, she followed Stephen into the office, and the secretary was left alone. She had only been with Kylie for a short time, but as she looked at the photo, she realized that she was actually very confused. She’d been certain that Kylie had been close with Ethan.

The secretary wasn’t the only one who felt uncomfortable with the way the conversation had gone. Ethan’s name seemed to be a trigger for her that brought up emotions that seemed impossible for her to process. Stephen saw what she was going through by the look on her face, and he asked her if she was okay. She didn’t want to talk about it, though, so she blamed her sour demeanor on period cramps.

Kylie sat down on the couch in Stephen’s office and rubbed her temples with her thumbs. As Ethan’s name echoed in her head, an image appeared in the back of her eyes. She squeezed her eyes shut and, when Stephen saw that she was in agony, he came over to rub her shoulders. “Don’t worry,” he said. “I will help you to feel better.”

Kylie opened her eyes, and she looked at him skeptically. “How?” she wondered.

“I will perform a stress test,” he said as he grabbed a book off of his shelf, “and we can go from there.”

Stephen began to flash images quickly in front of her, and he asked her to say what she saw, which was no problem for her. What she did not know, though, was that it was not a stress test. Rather it was a method to hypnotize and brainwash a person.

As the pictures changed, faster and faster, Kylie began to feel as though she were being sucked into a cave. After a moment, the cave branched into two separate directions, and the walls began to spin. The cave on the left spun counterclockwise while the one on the right spun clockwise. Then, in the same way that the cave had split, so did her consciousness, and she felt herself being pushed in the two opposite directions – and then the light went out.

Once Kylie was unconscious, Stephen helped her to the floor. He knelt down beside her and whispered into her ear: “What is your name?”

From the depths of her subconscious, Kylie found her name.

“What is your occupation?” Stephen wondered.

“I’m an actor,” Kylie replied.

“Do you like acting?” he asked her.

This was one of the questions that Stephen was nervous about. If he couldn’t get the answer from her that he wanted, he would never convince her to change jobs.

There was a long pause, and then Kylie said, “I do like acting, but I would happily give it up for my husband.”

Stephen frowned when he heard that because he didn’t know who she was referring to. He thought it was worth following up, so he asked her to name her husband.

Without expression or emotion, Kylie said, “I love Stephen. He is my husband. He is the only one I would ever want to be with.”

At first, when Stephen heard this, he was overjoyed. After thinking about it for a few minutes, though, his joy turned to rage as he realized that he had not planted the things she’d said. What this meant was that someone other than himself had been playing around in Kylie’s head. The problem in this is that if the two hypnotists accidentally inserted opposing truths into a person’s head, it could easily cause them to go insane.

Stephen was equally angry because he knew who had been playing around in Kylie’s head, and he considered it a major breach of trust. The person who had hypnotized Kylie behind his back was none other than the butler, whom he had known for most of his life.

Stephen sat down, gently lifted Kylie into his arms, and snapped his fingers in front of her face. Kylie’s eyes opened, and she blinked three times. “What happened?” she wondered. “The last thing I remember is when you were giving me a stress test…”

“Don’t worry,” Stephen replied. “You passed out for a second. Don’t even think about it. You will be fine. Are you hungry? You must be. Let’s go get something to eat. I would hate for you to pass out again!”

“Before we go anywhere,” Kylie replied, “I would like to know the results of my stress test.”

“You are no more stressed out than the average Joe,” Stephen laughed. “In my opinion, you will feel better after you eat. Let’s go have a hotpot. I know that you like hotpots!”

“Alright,” Kylie replied. “I know of a place. Fannie took me there, and the food was good.”

Chapter 322: I Can Remind You Now

Upon reaching the restaurant that they’d chosen to eat at, Stephen suddenly looked at Kylie and said, “I’ve got a bad feeling about it. Let’s eat somewhere else.”

Kylie looked at him strange though and said, “We’re already here. If there are no seats available, we’ll go somewhere else.”

Kylie took Stephen’s hand and, before he could protest any more, she pulled him in. They went up to the hostess stand then, and before they could even ask for a table, the landlady came over to greet them. “Miss. Finch,” she gushed. “It is good to see you again, and I hope that you brought your appetite! Will you be ordering a hotpot again?”

“You know me too well,” Kylie laughed; she smiled and introduced Stephen to the landlady, who then made a point of showing them to their table and taking their orders.

When the food arrived, Kylie began to eat as fast as she could. After a few minutes, though, she noticed that Stephen wasn’t eating at all. She looked at him with a frown on her face and told him to eat. He just looked back at her and said that he didn’t eat hotpots.

“Then why did you order it?” Kylie hissed. “Why didn’t you order something that you like?”

Kylie stood up quickly and threw her napkin in his face. “This is bullshit,” she said. “I am obviously not going to sit here eating while you just watch me. Your butler would have a fit. I’m out of here!”

On her way out the door, Kylie practically ran into a man who seemed very familiar to her. He was tall and lean. He wore a black suit. His hair was short and stylishly unkempt, and there was a pretty girl on his arm. As he walked, he turned his head to talk to the woman beside him. She had fair skin and blond hair. She was curvy, and just by looking at her, Kylie could tell that she was Russian.

Kylie’s heart missed a beat as a name popped into her head: Ethan Parker. Even though she had a name and a face, she knew she still had nothing. The most important part of the equation was what her relation to him was. Without that, she had nothing.

Ethan’s gaze had been so fixed on the Russian girl, though, that he hadn’t even noticed her as they’d butted shoulders. Kylie watched them as they took to the upper level. The girl was clumsy, and Ethan had to correct her step multiple times to prevent her from falling – and the whole scene made her feel jealous for reasons that she didn’t understand. She was dying to follow them, but she couldn’t explain why. I have no ties to him, she told herself. Furthermore, I am married to Stephen, so even looking upon Ethan lustfully is a sin!

In order to stall for time, Kylie ordered a to-go meal for Stephen, something she knew he would like. The bartender told her that it would take twenty minutes, and she said that that would be alright.

Kylie was still watching Ethan when he stopped to look at the bar below him, and their eyes happened to meet.

Kylie was wearing a khaki knit dress, which showed her impressive figure and gave Ethan an impressive bird’s eye view of her ample cleavage. He seemed intrigued for an instant, but then his eyes darkened, and his brow furrowed, and he turned away.

Seeing the look on Ethan’s face and his eyes’ focus, the Russian girl turned to him and asked him if he knew the beautiful girl who appeared to be waiting for take-out.

Ethan frowned, and he said, “She looked familiar but, no, I do not know her.”

“Alright,” the Russian girl laughed. As she took his arm to lead him the rest of the way upstairs, she said, “Now that that’s settled, why don’t we enjoy ourselves?”

Sitting by the bar, Kylie felt unsettled by the fact that Ethan had turned away from her in a way that suggested they didn’t know each other. The moment she’d seen him, a part of her hoped that he might have answers to some of the questions that Stephen did not seem willing to answer.

Suddenly, it occurred to Kylie to follow him upstairs. As soon as the idea popped into her head, she knew that it was a bad one, but, like a moth drawn to fire, the idea drew her. Step by step, she scolded herself, but she didn’t slow down even once.

Near the top of the stairs, there was a group of people chatting. They were in her way and, even after she’d said “excuse me” three times, they’d hardly moved. So, having no other recourse, she pushed herself through the sweaty bodies. Then, when she was just about through, she tripped over someone’s foot, fell, and landed on Ethan and the Russian girl. The Russian girl had a drink in her hand, and it splashed all over her as she dropped her glass.

The Russian girl pushed her aside and said, “God! Look what you’ve done! Could you be any more careless?!?!”

Before the Russian girl could berate her any further, Ethan helped her up and asked her if she was okay. Kylie, who was fuming after she’d been treated so callously by the Russian girl, was in no mood for sympathy. She pulled her arm away and said, “Never mind. I know that you don’t care anyway.”

“You’ve got it wrong,” Ethan replied. He told the Russian girl to go get a new drink, and then he led Kylie back downstairs and to the side of the building where they could talk uninterrupted. When they got there, Kylie suddenly felt like she’d gotten in over her head, and she began to look for ways to escape.

Seeing the look in her eyes, Ethan grabbed her shoulder. He looked her in the eyes and said, “If you try to run, I will chase you down and punish you on the spot!”

Hearing his threat, Kylie pounded on his back, scratched his arms, and cursed his name. He had a strong body, though, and her assault went mostly unnoticed by him. Once she’d run out of energy, Ethan grabbed her by the hair, dragged her across the street to where his car was parked and shoved her into the back seat.

Not knowing what was coming next, Kylie begged him not to kill her.

Ethan laughed as he got into the seat beside her. “I’m not going to kill you,” he said. “I just want to know why you lied to me, and then I want to teach you a lesson so that you don’t do it again!”

Kylie tried to open the door to escape, but Ethan had the child locked in. Laughing, he grabbed her by the waist and pulled her to himself. “Perhaps the punishment should come first,” he whispered, “and then you will be ready to confess your sins!”

Already, Ethan’s cock was rock hard, and Kylie could feel it. Inside her mind, she was thinking, Make this stop. This is not right. I am a married woman, and I can’t let this man rape me. For every thought she had, though, her body had a counter-argument. His body had a familiarity to it that she could not account for or deny, and her body was responding in ways that she couldn’t understand – and even if it came down to rape, her basic instinct reminded her that rape isn’t always rape.

“We can’t do this,” she argued. “My husband is still inside the restaurant. If he finds us together, it will be bad for both of us.”

Ethan’s brows rose, and he looked at Kylie. Somehow, she looked different than she had the night before. “Do you remember what we did last night?” he asked her.

Kylie frowned and said, “I do not.”

Ethan smiled. “That is quite queer,” he said. “It is not the end of the world, though. I can remind you now!”

Chapter 323: I Have Something To Deal With

The sound of the sudden braking sounded by her ears, followed by the sound of broken glass. It took Kylie a long time to get her mind back. She checked her hands and feet. Luckily, she was safe.

Like lightning, a man dashed to her and pressed her to his strong stomach.

“Are you alright?” The man’s anxious voice rang by her ears.

Kylie’s heart lost a beat.

There was a lot of strange noise in her head pulling her nerves.

“Sir! Sir, do you want to go to the hospital to have a check?” The driver kept asking about Ethan’s condition.

The driver was scared too because this man rushed out at short notice just then.

In order to protect the woman, the man pushes her out with moderate strength. He, however, was knocked over by the car, then landed on the windshield and rolled again to the ground.

Even though he got back to his feet as soon as possible and checked the woman’s condition at first after such a serious impact.

The man must be the woman’s boyfriend, so he cared for her so much.

Thinking of that, the driver suddenly heard a man shouting across the road, “Kylie? What happened?” Within seconds, another man ran across the road and stood before the driver.

“Kylie?” Stephen reached out his hands to pull Kylie, who was protected by Ethan in his arms.

Kylie then got rid of Ethan’s arms and went back to Stephen’s side.

At this moment, no words hurt him more than that silent rejection.

Stephen looked to Ethan and said, “Thank you so much for rescuing Kylie. Do you need me to drive you to the hospital?”

Ethan, instead, ignored him but stared straight at Kylie. “Are you alright?” He wanted to hear the answer from her in person.

Kylie compressed her lips, clenching her fists hanging by the sides of her body in silence. She gave Stephen a glance before replying in a low voice, “Thank you. I’m fine.” Hearing that, Ethan was finally relieved, but his body shook a little.

Kylie subconsciously wanted to help him, but she forced herself to stop her steps. “Star, let’s go back to eat!” She even didn’t give Ethan a glance.

Stephen saw Kylie’s indifference towards Ethan with his very own eyes. Even though Ethan could have died because of her, Kylie didn’t show any concern like a common person would do.

Her indifference towards Ethan made him affirm the effect of hypnosis, so he held Kylie’s hands and said to Ethan, “Hey, bro, we’re eating hot pot. Why don’t you join us?”

Ethan’s eyes were as cold as the ice blade. He snorted, and his voice was faint. “Sorry, I have something to deal with.”

After that, the man strode to his car.

Kylie apologized to the driver with her hands held by Stephen. The driver was willing to take responsibility and hoped they could persuade Ethan to have a check in the hospital.

Stephen smiled lightly, “Don’t worry. He will.” Seeing the driver frown a little, he added, “Well, he won’t ask you for a medical fee, and you can go now.” No matter what, the driver still left a name card before he drove away.

When Kylie walked by the Knight XV stopped by the roadside, she subconsciously glanced inside.

It was dark in the car, and she was able to see the man closing his eyes tightly, lying in the rear seat with the help of the dim street lights. There was a burning cigarette dangling from his mouth, and the man seemed in pain.

Kylie felt hurt, but she tried her best to control herself and kept striding ahead.

Stephen also gave the Knight XV a glance, then turned to Kylie. “Shall we go to check Ethan’s condition?”

Kylie raised a beam. “He’ll go to see the doctor himself if he feels uncomfortable. Let’s go back now! I’m starving.” Saying that she held Stephen’s hand walking faster.

In the car, the man slowly opened his eyes. Seeing the girl running away from him without hesitation, he wore a sad smile.

Right at this moment, his phone rang.

Ethan reached out his hand into his pant pocket, but it was so painful when he just moved a little that he couldn’t help making an agonized sound. He did his best to draw his phone out.

“Yes,” the man said gently as usual, although his forehead was already covered by sweat.

“Ethan, the prostitute, received a message from Michael. He told her to meet him at a bar,” Nate said on the phone.

“Come out now. I’m at the outside of the door.”

“Ethan, you haven’t eaten anything tonight. Let me pack some…” The noise of pulling chairs sounded on the phone, followed by footsteps.

Nate ordered the prostitute to pack some food for Ethan. However, when they just walked out of the room, they encountered Stephen and Kylie.

He didn’t hang up yet, so Ethan was able to hear his voice when he was teasing Kylie. “Oh, look at that! Sorry, Stephen, I don’t think it’s a good idea that you stole your brother’s girl.”

“I don’t care,” Stephen said airily.

“Indeed, you don’t seem to care!” Nate knocked Stephen’s shoulder on purpose when he walked by, then added, “I won’t take you as my brother anymore.”

Kylie felt like crying and tried very hard to stopped herself from doing so. “Who is he? He’s so rude.”

“One of my brothers,” Stephen said, pulling Kylie’s hand, walking into a private room.

Nate heard the sound of closing the door. He spat on the ground before he strutted to the outside.

When he just walked to the car door, Ethan stepped out of the car. He looked so pale, and his trim suit was covered in dust.

“Ethan, what happened?” Nate strode to him.

“Drive the car.” Ethan didn’t say much, turning to sit on the front passenger’s seat.

The prostitute sat at the back. She wanted to ask what Lord Ethan had done to the woman, but she sensed danger from the man, so she didn’t dare utter a word.

When the car had been on the road for a long time, she attempted to ask Nate, “How far can you guarantee this bug is useful?”

Nate gave her a glance from the rear-view mirror. “Within three kilometers.”

The prostitute played the top button of her shirt, and it seemed she didn’t believe it very much.

“Don’t break it. It’s the latest model, which can’t be bought on the market.” Nate was showing off.

“Will it be found out?”

“No way! Even Ethan failed to notice it. Michael is nobody compared to Ethan!” When Nate just finished his sentences, he sensed a cold glance from the man next to him.

Nate immediately beamed to please the man. “Ethan, it’s all Ricky’s idea, and it was also he who put the bug on your body for your safety.”

Ricky was in his own house right now and somehow had a premonition.

The car finally stopped at the outside of a bar. After the prostitute was out, Nate supported Ethan by his shoulder.

However, when Nate just touched his shoulder, the man seemed in great pain.

“Ethan, is your arm dislocated?”

Chapter 324: Nobody can Steal My Girl

The man frowned a little but didn’t answer Nate’s question.

Nate had never seen Ethan being so piteous like a drowned mouse, and he felt aggrieved for Ethan. “There are plenty of fish in the sea! Why do you have to choose Kylie Finch?”

Ethan, however, ignored him, staring straight at the door of the bar.

An MPV stopped at the door later, and Ken got off from the car first. He then guided Michael with great respect out of the car.

Nate laid his hands on the man’s arm. He gently rubbed it and said, “Can Ken White handle it? It’s so important and risky, after all. What if he betrays you and helps Stephen behave against you all of a sudden? If it really happens, it’s possible that you’ll lose both your girl and your position…”

At this time, the man gave him a cold, sharp glance, and Nate seized the chance of lifting the man’s arm.

By a clear sound, the arm was back to its normal place.

Ethan moved his shoulder a little, then took out a cigarette. He frowned, lighting it, and took a long breath in.

“Nobody can steal my girl away from me.”

Nate pulled his lip, remaining silent.

In the bar.

Ken and the prostitute sat apart at Michael’s sides.

“Michael, are you sure it’ll work?” Ken took a drink of strong alcohol. “I’m in urgent need of money now.”

Michael leaned against the sofa with his arm lying across the prostitute’s shoulders, rubbing her boobs. “I’ve already found the buyer, and all you need to do now is to deliver the goods there.” He laughed out loud, with great confidence and pride.

The prostitute hugged Michael’s neck and played cutely. “Michael, why don’t you let me join you? I want to make some money too!”

Michael gave her a side-eye. “He knows how to flirt with girls. Can you do that?”

“Didn’t you say to deliver the goods?” the prostitute repeated it on purpose.

Ken threw a cigarette to the prostitute, and the prostitute took it at once. She then used Michael’s lit cigarette to light hers, waiting to hear Ken’s explanation.

“Michael found me a girl who’s a flight attendant. As long as I can make her swallow the goods while she’s asleep, my task is fulfilled.” The prostitute raised her voice in surprise, “Drug trafficking in human bodies?”

“You’re not dumb!” Michael rubbed the prostitute’s boobs with greater strength.

The prostitute leaned against his chest and seemed shy, but still looking at Ken. “The girl is a flight attendant! It’s not easy for you to get laid.”

Ken laughed, “Don’t take me lightly! I can get laid whenever I want, except…” Ken suddenly stopped and shook his head. “Forget it. No big deal.”

“Ken, it sounds like you’ve failed to get a girl you want?” Michael wore a sophisticated smile. “Do you want me to help you?”

“Michael, if you’re willing to do me a favor, I’ll do whatever you ask me to do!” Ken’s eyes lit up within a second.

Michael nodded and took another large mouthful of alcohol before asking, “Who is the girl?”

“You must have heard of Garcia Entertainment, right?” Ken said, “I want Laurence Finch’s daughter.” When Ken said that, he focused on Michael’s eyes. However, it seemed Michael felt very strange to the name of Laurence Finch.

Seeing that, the prostitute added in a hurry, “I’ve heard of the company too! Laurence Finch has two daughters, and only his second daughter is his biological one. His wife, Emily Garcia, was already pregnant when they got married.”

When Michael heard the name of Emily Garcia, both Ken and the prostitute noticed he frowned tightly.

“Who?” His voice sounded cold now.

“Emily Garcia. She’s the daughter of the chairman of Garcia Entertainment. Laurence Finch was nobody when they got married,” Ken said.

Knowing it, Michael let the go of the prostitute and then drank up the glass of alcohol.

After a short while of silence, he patted Ken’s shoulder. “Ken, I think I’ll be your father-in-law soon.”

Ken played dumb and said, “Michael, you must be kidding me!” Michael then took off the big obsidian the size of an egg from his neck. When he pressed a button, it automatically bounced from the middle, and it turned out to be a photo frame.

There was an old photo with Michael and another woman in it, and both of them wore a sweet smile.

Michael seemed only 30 in the photo, while the woman closely resembled Kylie.

There was no need to do a DNA test at all!

“Is this Kylie Finch?” Ken blurted it out.

“My daughter’s name is Kylie Finch?” Michael squinted, then looked to Ken with great anticipation. “As long as you can help me meet my daughter, I’ll give you double pay!”

Ken seemed unwilling to do that. “I don’t want the money, but a wife.” “No!” Michael regretted it at once. “You could be killed at any moment, and you can’t let her be in such a dangerous situation as you.”

“Then, I quit!” Ken was annoyed, standing up, walking away.

The prostitute pulled Michael’s clothing and said in a low voice, “Don’t ruin the deal like that. You can give him a promise for now and let him help you settle the deal first.”

Michael stared at the prostitute and thought her words made sense. Anyway, he could use the excuse that Kylie Finch was reluctant to be with Ken to get rid of Ken after the deal was settled.

Seeing Ken walking out of the private room, Michael suddenly opened his mouth.

“Alright, alright. As long as Kylie is willing to be with you, I won’t interfere!” Hearing that, Ken turned around with a broad smile on his face. “That’ll be great, my father-in-law! Let’s have a toast!”

Although Michael was unwilling to do so, he still raised his glass.

The two sat in the car heard their talk clearly.

Nate said, “Ethan, are you really going to let Kylie meet Michael?”

Seeing Ethan being quiet, Nate added, “If we catch Michael Cole right before Kylie’s face, I don’t think she’ll forgive you.” Saying that Nate finally found out there was something wrong going on with Ethan.

The man’s face was too pale, and the cigarette in his mouth seemed to haven’t been sucked at all, so the soot ignited to the butt on its own.

“Ethan!” Nate lightly pushed Ethan.

The man didn’t open his eyes, and the cigarette in his mouth even fell straight down.

“Ethan!” Nate shook his body with great force, but Ethan was already unconscious.

Nate swore, then started the car without delay. He turned the car around while talking to Ken through the radio.

“You’re all on your own now. Lord Ethan and I must deal with an emergency right now.” After that, he drove the car as fast as he could to the Central Hospital.

After a preliminary examination, the doctor directly pushed Ethan into the operating room.

Nate was like an ant on a hot pan, growing restless. He didn’t know whom to call, so he called Fannie at the end.

“Will Ethan die?” Once Fannie appeared, Nate pressed his head to her soft stomach, like a child asking for comfort. “What if he dies?”

“Relax, Ethan will be fine.” Fannie gently patted Nate’s back.

After four hours, the lights in the operating room were finally extinguished.

The doctor said to Nate plainly, “The patient came too late, and the rupture of the spleen caused massive bleeding.”

Nate was so shocked that he almost collapsed to the ground.

At this crucial moment, Fannie remained calm. “How about now? Is the bleeding under control? Is he safe now?”

Chapter 325: Do You Want To Visit Him?

The doctor shook his head and said, “I’m not sure, and tonight is the most critical period, but the patient seems determined to be alive. I do hope he’ll be fine.” In an intensive care unit.

Seeing the man was filled with various instruments, Fannie asked Nate in a quiet voice.

“Lord Ethan cares about Kylie most. Shall we call her to encourage him?”

Nate snorted with anger. “I think Ethan will be furious when he hears her voice!”

“I don’t think so.” Fannie shook her head. “You don’t understand Lord Ethan. He’ll forgive Kylie whatever she’s done.”

“I don’t think there is any man who can accept the fact that his girl has cheated on him!” Nate was so reluctant to make the call, but he did believe Fannie was right.

However, the problem wasn’t whether he would call Kylie, but whether Kylie would come.

He bit his lips a little, then made an excuse. “I’ll go out to have a cigarette.”

Walking out from the intensive care unit, Nate called Stephen at once.

He just had promised that he wouldn’t take Stephen as his brother anymore, but he had to call Stephen and be nice now. Thinking of that, Nate wanted to slap himself.

“Hey, Stephen, are you still eating the hot pot?” Nate smiled once his call was answered.

“Nope, we’re home now,” Stephen said gently as usual. “What’s up?”

“Um… Well…” Nate honestly had no idea how to put it. Stephen, on the other side of the phone, didn’t urge him either, but just waited with patience.

In the end, Nate had to tell him the truth. “Ethan is in the hospital now. He’s badly injured. If you’re free, I think you should come and visit him. We’ve been brothers after all.”

“Which hospital?” Stephen asked.

It was one thing that he had stolen Kylie from his close brother, but it was totally another thing that they were still brothers.

Nate then told him the address before hanging up.

He didn’t tell Stephen to bring Kylie to visit Ethan, but he did hope Kylie would come on her own after hearing the bad news, although he wasn’t very hopeful.

In fact, when Nate called Stephen, Stephen already had a shower and was about to go to bed. Seeing him changing clothes again, Kylie asked with curiosity, “Where are you going? It’s very late.”

“Ethan is in the hospital now, and I’m going to visit him,” Stephen explained lightly.

“OK,” Kylie said, then turned back, continuing to watch the entertainment show hosted by William while she was eating snacks.

Stephen stopped at her back, thinking for a while before he opened his mouth, “Ethan was hit by the car because of you. Do you want to visit him with me?”

Kylie’s sight stuck to the TV screen and was amused by the show. She laughed and said airily, “If he hadn’t chased me, I wouldn’t have been hit by the car. It was his own fault that he was hit by the car at the end. I don’t want to visit him. The show is so funny.”

Stephen didn’t insist but patted her shoulder. “Don’t watch TV for too long. I think I’ll be in the hospital for a long while, and won’t be back until I’m sure Ethan is safe.”

When Kylie heard the door closed behind, she turned back and seemed worried.

She deliberately turned the voice of the TV up, then picked her coat, avoiding the housekeeper’s sight, following Stephen.

There was only a VIP elevator at the top six stories of the Empire Hotel. Kylie hid at the door and didn’t run to the stairs until Stephen walked into the elevator.

She dashed down six floors, then got in another elevator.

When Kylie ran out of the elevator, she saw Stephen already got in the Lamborghini.

Kylie turned to get in a taxi at once. “Hey, please follow the car at the front!”

“Miss, it’s a sports car!”

“I’ll give you a double fee!”

“Buckle your safety belt!”

Even six extra tires were added to Santana, and it was impossible for it to catch up with Lamborghini. Nevertheless, from Stephen’s route and direction, Kylie was still able to find the Central Hospital, which was his destination.

When she got off the taxi, Stephen was nowhere to be found. She then put on her hat and mask before walking to the reception.

“Hi, may I ask which patient room the injured man from a car accident stays in? He was admitted this afternoon,” Kylie asked. However, the nurse told her there was no injured man who had been admitted to the hospital from a car accident today.

Kylie was confused. The Central Hospital was so big, and it was totally impractical for her to search for the man from one patient room to another.

At the outside of the intensive care unit.

When Nate saw Stephen came here alone, he was disappointed.

“Hi,” Nate said coldly, but Stephen didn’t care. “How’s Ethan now?” “The rupture of the spleen caused massive bleeding under severe impact. He may not survive tonight.” Nate lowered his head, sitting on the bench.

Stephen walked to the window and had a glance at the inside. There was a lot of medical equipment, and the man was still in the process of blood transfusion.

From Stephen’s professional acknowledgement, he knew the man must be in a very dangerous situation with so many medical devices.

Ethan had been hit by the car because of rescuing Kylie. If he died like that and couldn’t see Kylie for the last time, would Kylie be regretful for the rest of her life when she regained her memory in the future?

Stephen hesitated for a while, then walked aside to call Kylie.

Although it seemed that she didn’t care and wasn’t willing to come, she probably would come here if Stephen made the request in person.

Unexpectedly, Kylie’s phone was turned off.

Stephen could only call the housekeeper then. “Let Kylie answer the call.” The housekeeper searched the room for around then replied, “I’m sorry, Lord Stephen. Kylie isn’t home.”

Nate, who sat aside, eavesdropped Stephen talking on the phone, but he didn’t hear it clearly. Seeing Stephen hung up the call and seemed displeased, Nate thought Kylie was still unwilling to come.

“It’s all because of her that Ethan is lying in the intensive care unit now! She’s so cold-blooded!” Nate was a little mad.

“She’s not cold-blooded.” Stephen sat beside Nate and firmly defended Kylie.

“Ha, you’re right. She cherishes affection and loyalty, and will never betray a man who loves her so much!” Nate said it on purpose to embarrass Stephen.

At this time, Fannie was back with two cups of coffee in her hands.

She gave Stephen a smile and said, “Sorry, I didn’t know you’ll come, so I didn’t buy a cup for you.” “It’s fine. I don’t drink coffee.” Stephen was very polite to her.

Nate took a cup of coffee, walking aside, drinking it. He looked to the outside of the window, feeling upset that he failed to let Ethan meet Kylie.

Fannie sat beside Stephen with a gentle smile on her face. “I heard that Kylie is your girlfriend now? How is she doing?” “Not bad,” Stephen smiled.

“Kylie is a little stubborn, and you better be more tolerant,” Fannie said, but there was obvious disdain in her eyes.

It seemed nobody supported them being together.

Stephen sat for a few minutes and started to feel embarrassed when nobody was talking.

He stood up later, saying to Fannie, “Well, you and Nate can stay here for tonight, and I’ll do the day shift tomorrow. If anything wrong happened to Ethan, do tell Nate to call me.”

“I will. See you.” Fannie walked him to the elevator. When she turned around to see Nate, he was already asleep on the chair.

She smirked, then quietly walked to a fire exit and said in a low voice, “You can come out now.”
