Ch. 336..340: Fatal Kiss Of The Vampire Chapter 336-340
Kylie thought to herself. We already met each other, and we even had sex too.
Mrs. Woolf actually should be worried about Nate instead, because he failed to figure out his feelings towards Fannie till now.
Kylie then gave Ethan a side glance. The man was talking to Nate with a serious look on his face.
Nate gave Kylie a glance, and seemed displeased, then soon drew his sight back.
There was a card in his hand, which was found in the large bunch of flowers.
Stephen took the card and had a look, and then he gave it back to Ethan with a serious look on the face too.
Kylie felt nervous at once. It seemed the uninvited guest wasn’t Dora.
On the way to the hotel for a meal, the men sat in a car to discuss something serious, while Mrs. Woolf sat with William in another car, and Dinah shared the third one with Kylie.
“You must know who’s the sender,” Kylie said.
Dinah looked straight forward. “Ethan told me not to tell you.”
“Do you listen to him?” Kylie asked.
“Of course.” Dinah turned to look at her. “I can’t tell you, but you can ask me.”
Kylie almost laughed out loud. Dinah was so funny. “Is it Dora?”
“No.”
“Your comrade?”
“No.”
Kylie remained silent for a while, then stared at Dinah’s profile. “Michael?”
Dinah didn’t say a word this time but gave Kylie a thumbs-up.
Dinah slowed the car down before a crossroads. When Ethan’s and William’s cars drove across, the traffic lights turned red.
Kylie felt hopeless. Michael indeed was going to revenge himself on them!
“Don’t worry. Although Stephen doesn’t get along well with Ethan recently, they’re a team against Michael…” Dinah started the car again. However, when the car just moved to the center of the crossroads, a silvery Santana dashed out all of a sudden.
Even though Dinah turned the steering wheel with surprising agility, she still failed to avoid the car.
The car she was driving was hit badly and pushed aside for a long distance, then was stopped by guardrails.
Kylie was wearing the safety belt, so she was safe, but she felt like throwing up after the sudden hit.
“Kylie, are you alright?” Dinah called Ethan at once.
“Stay in the car. Don’t move,” the man ordered.
Ethan told William drove Mrs. Woolf went back to the hotel first, in case she would be worried, then told Nate to drive back without delay.
The traffic police also arrived to deal with this accident, and it caused congestion on one side of the road.
Ethan and others could only walk to them.
When the owner of the silvery car saw Ethan, he was apparently surprised, then snorted at Dinah when she got off from the car.
He was very cooperative with the traffic police, confessing that he was drunk and willing to pay compensation.
However, Ethan noticed a touch of evil flashed by his eyes.
He thought Ethan was in the car because the car was Ethan’s. Ethan then walked to the front passenger’s seat and knocked on the car window.
Kylie rolled the window down, looking at the man’s beautiful eyes, and raised a smile. “I’m fine. Be careful. Don’t let Stephen notice us.”
There were obvious worries on the man’s face, and Stephen ran over with concern at the same time.
“Are you hurt?” He opened the car door and carried Kylie in his arms off the car right before Ethan’s face.
Kylie’s head laid on Stephen’s shoulder. She gave Ethan an eye to tell him to be patient.
Ethan forced himself to calm down and compressed his thin lips into a tough curve.
“Let me take you to the hospital for a check,” Stephen said.
“I’m fine. I just feel a little dizzy,” Kylie said.
Nate walked to Santana and grabbed its owner’s collar, yelling, “Are you blind? Do you know whose car is this?”
The owner of Santana raised his arms up in the air, shouting to the traffic police, “I admit that I am wrong, but he can’t use lynching for me.”
The traffic police came over to separate them at once and promised to make a fair and just decision.
“I think I won’t join you for the meal, and I must take Kylie back right now,” Stephen said, pulling Kylie walking away.
“If we’re absent, how should we explain to Mrs. Woolf?” In fact, Kylie was worried about Ethan.
If he had been in the car, his wound could have been broken by the heavy hitters.
“Don’t worry. He’ll explain it to us.” Stephen pointed at Ethan with his jaw. Ethan squinted a little, implying that Kylie could leave first.
There could be their enemies hiding in the messy crowd.
Although Kylie insisted that she was fine, Stephen still did a general check for her. Luckily, her blood pressure and heart rate were all normal.
Given what had happened today, Kylie made up her mind that she must be an undercover agent by Michael’s side.
“I’ve already rested for two days. Can I go back to the crew tomorrow?” Kylie said. “I want to finish the shooting as soon as possible, so we can change our jobs together.” Stephen nodded. “Sure, but you must be careful.”
“I will. I’ll call Lucas now,” Kylie said, then walked to the balcony. Seeing Stephen didn’t follow her over, she called Ethan at once. “Hi, are you alright?”
“I’m fine. Take care of yourself,” Ethan said in a low voice. “Don’t meet Michael, alright?”
“Sure,” Kylie answered. “I’ll go back to the crew tomorrow, and I can’t meet you for a few days.”
“I’ll go visit you,” Ethan said, then stopped for a second. “I must go. Bye.”
Kylie then deleted the call records before she called Lucas. “Hey, I’ll join the crew tomorrow. Arrange my time well, and I hope I can finish my part at a time.”
“What?” Lucas was greatly surprised. “It takes at least a whole week to finish your part. Your body can’t afford it.”
“I don’t have much time for it now, so I must finish it as soon as possible. The shooting can’t be delayed again because of me. Talk to the director before you call me back.” After hanging up, Kylie walked to the bathroom to wash her face.
However, when she just lowered her head, the water turned red in her palms.
Drops of blood were falling down.
She immediately raised her head, looking at herself in the mirror. There was fresh blood coming out from her nose.
“Jesus!” Kylie exclaimed, then used cold water to cover her forehead to stop the blood from bleeding.
Right at this moment, Stephen called her outside, “Kylie, I made some soup for you. Come out and have some.”
“I’ll be right out!” Kylie answered.
After a while, she washed her face quickly when she was sure the blood stopped bleeding.
“What’s the soup?” Kylie sat by the dining table.
“Meatball soup,” Stephen said, then placed a bowl of soup before her.
The soup smelt good with great taste too.
However, when Kylie just had a mouthful of the soup, she threw up at once.
Chapter 337: What Are They Scheming?
She loved meatball most, but now felt it was so disgusting.
“Kylie?” Stephen laid his palm on her shoulder.
Kylie gave him a faint smile. “Don’t worry. I just don’t have an appetite after the accident.”
She seemed relaxed, but Stephen looked serious. “If you feel anywhere uncomfortable, you must let me know.”
“Alright, alright, Doctor Cecil,” Kylie smiled, then forced herself to drink some soup. “I need to lie down for a while.”
However, she couldn’t fall asleep at all. After waiting for two hours, she finally received Lucas’s call.
“Kylie, I’ve talked with Director Miller, and he said you could finish your part as long as your body can afford it.”
“Very well. I didn’t attend the recording of the reality show last time, and I lost much publicity,” Kylie said, and she heard Lucas snorting on the phone.
“I thought you really retreat to be a B-list actress as President Laurence said.”
“I’m only dealing with some things for the time being and won’t give up my favorite career.”
Kylie hung up and heard footsteps coming to her room.
Somehow, she put her phone under her pillow, then closed her eyes, pretending she was asleep.
Before long, someone pushed the room door open, and Stephen’s voice sounded. “Kylie, are you asleep?”
Kylie lay still in silence.
She heard Stephen walk near, then stopped before her, and her heartbeat fast.
He was a doctor and should be able to easily distinguish between deep sleep and disguised sleep.
Therefore, Kylie did her best to relax, even didn’t dare move her eyeballs.
There was a faint smell of disinfectant water on the tip of her nose. He must be close to her.
Was he observing me? Kylie thought to herself.
Kylie’s fingers were cold already, and her body was even stiff. Just when she was about to give up, she felt the blanket on her body moved a little.
Stephen gently adjusted the blanket for her, then turned around, walking outside.
When she heard the sound of closing the door again, Kylie opened her eyes. She moved her shoulders and fingers and listened carefully to the movement at the outside of the door.
Stephen should be going to the study now.
There must be something he didn’t want Kylie to know, or he wouldn’t come to check her first.
Kylie slid out of bed then. When she just was about to open the door, she heard another footstep passing by the door. It was the housekeeper.
What are they scheming?
The study was next door to Kylie’s bedroom, but the room was very soundproof, so she couldn’t hear what they were talking about.
Without a better idea, Kylie had to venture out. When she just walked to the door of the study, she heard a crisp voice.
Stephen must have slapped the housekeeper.
He asked coldly, “What did you do to Kylie?”
“Lord Stephen.” The housekeeper’s voice was still calm, and there were no ups and downs. “I just give her a cup of milk every day according to your order.”
“Really?” Stephen snorted in anger. “You replaced my medicine.”
The housekeeper remained silent, which meant Stephen was right.
Then, Kylie heard the sound of fall accompanied by the sound of porcelain cracking, and then Stephen’s roar. “Do you know that medicine will kill Kylie!”
Kylie had never heard Stephen being so furious and subconsciously covered her mouth.
Did it have anything to do with the glass of milk that she felt disgusted and had nosebleeds often recently?
She put her ear on the door, trying to hear what was going on inside.
The housekeeper’s voice sounded. “Didn’t you say the medicine just makes her feel tired, so it’s easier to control her mind?”
“Yes, but if you add another medicine, the two together will cause bad effects. ” Stephen seemed calm now, and his voice sounded helpless. “Stop her medicine right away.”
“We can’t,” the housekeeper answered very firmly.
“You made the decision without my approval, and you even refuse to obey my order! ” Stephen raised his voice again. “Go back to the manor tomorrow!”
“I can’t go back either.” The tone of the housekeeper was more and more stubborn.
The room was silent for a while before the housekeeper opened his mouth again. “Lord Stephen, you’re right, I did have hypnotized Kylie. If she dares betray you, she must pay for it. ”
“You know we’re already together, and Kylie won’t betray me,” Stephen said. “You must remove the hypnosis right away.”
“Lord Stephen, I think you trust Kylie too much. Unless she gives birth to your child, otherwise…”
“If you continue to let her take that medicine, she can’t be pregnant in this life!”
Kylie’s body stiffened a little, and she subconsciously covered her stomach with her hand.
She always wanted to start a family with Ethan. Although Ethan never said it aloud, she knew he loved children very much.
If she couldn’t be pregnant… Kylie felt like crying, and her footsteps were somewhat unstable.
Hearing the sound of footsteps in the room, Kylie ran back to her room in a hurry and continued to pretend that she was asleep in bed.
Just when she lay down, the door was pushed open, and Stephen came in again.
Kylie pinched her legs with great force, trying to calm herself down.
Stephen knelt down by the bedside, and his voice was very soft. “Kylie, don’t worry. I won’t allow anything bad to happen to you.” Kylie pretended she just woke up, and moved her body a little, opening her eyes, looking at him with surprise.
“Why are you…” She noticed there were tears in Stephen’s eyes.
Perhaps when he first hypnotized her, he didn’t expect it would end up like this today.
He never thought his housekeeper would be too loyal to himself, and would let Kylie take another medicine without his approval in order to conduct anti-hypnosis.
The housekeeper aimed to keep Kylie by Stephen’s side forever.
“Do you think I’m selfish?” Stephen held Kylie’s hands.
Kylie remained silent, but she did think he was very selfish.
Yes, you’re very selfish.
Exactly because you’re selfish, Ethan and I have been apart for such a long time.
However, who wasn’t selfish in love?
If it hadn’t been for the fact that she loved Ethan so much, she wouldn’t have been trapped by Dora. And if she and Ethan had trusted each other deeply, Stephen wouldn’t have had the chance to set them apart.
Kylie looked down for a while. When she raised her face again, she smiled.
“If you’re selfish, you won’t allow me to go back to my world, and I wouldn’t have the chance to be near to the truth.” “Kylie, you…” Stephen was astonished.
How much does she already know?
Kylie shrugged. “Everyone has mentioned Ethan before me, but my heart felt against him, and I didn’t want to know anything about him.” “But, you must know it clearly that Ethan is everywhere in my life.”
“Kylie, without Ethan, isn’t complete. The more I feel against him, the more I’m curious about him.”
“I’m curious what he has done that makes me dislike him so much.”
“I’m curious why he seemed so sad every time he saw me.”
“It’s you who gave me chances to know the truth.”
“I know you want me to keep in touch with my friends in order to let me find out the truth by myself.”
“Exactly because you love me, you can’t give me back to Ethan in person.”
“And because you love me, you don’t want me to be hurt in the fight between Ethan and Michael.”
Chapter 338: You’ll Never Know
Stephen didn’t expect Kylie saw right through him.
“Kylie…” He clasped her hands. “You…” Since she already knew it now, who would she choose?
Kylie took his hands and looked at him with sincerity. “Star, when I needed friends most, it was you who kept my company. And you’re in a difficult time now, so I must stay by your side till you find your love.”
Stephen nodded heavily and looked gentle.
Kylie felt she had never been so relaxed after being so honest with Stephen, so she soon fell into a deep sleep after lying for a while longer.
When she woke up, she saw a circle of gauze wrapped around the busy housekeeper’s wrist in the kitchen.
It must be the wound he had got in Stephen’s room.
“Hi, may I help?” Kylie walked to the kitchen.
The housekeeper was a little surprised. Although the kitchen knife was handed over to Kylie, he still stood at the door of the kitchen.
“Cut it to small pieces, so they’ll taste better,” the housekeeper said with an expressionless face.
“Are these small enough?” Kylie asked while she was chopping.
“Yes, don’t put too much pepper… Just a little of it is enough… the water isn’t hot enough…”
Kylie stopped and turned to look at the housekeeper. “If you continue to do that, I’ll think you’re actually a nanny.”
How can he, a grown-up man, be more careful than a woman!
The housekeeper’s forever expressionless face was struck dumb for a second, then he turned to walk outside, but his sight still fell on Kylie.
“Don’t worry. I won’t drug the food, because I’m going to eat them too,” Kylie said. She didn’t bother to look back, because she knew the housekeeper was standing behind her.
“Are you sure you won’t leave Lord Stephen?” the housekeeper asked quietly.
Kylie turned around with a kitchen knife in her hand, then made a stroke in the air. “If your young master finds his beloved woman, he’ll chase me away. Ha-ha.”
“He won’t,” the housekeeper quickly replied. “Lord Stephen won’t like anyone else. You’re his first and last beloved woman.”
“You’ll never know.” Kylie turned back to her busy work in the kitchen, and said, “He’s so obsessed with me, maybe exactly because it’s his first love. Haven’t you heard of it? First love never ends well.” After saying that, she put the chopped vegetables into the pot.
However, the vegetables were too hydrated, and some hot water splashed out at once, which scared her off.
The spatula also fell to the ground, jingling for a while.
The housekeeper sighed, then pushed Kylie out of the kitchen.
“Do you want to blow up the kitchen?” The housekeeper picked up the spatula and cleaned it.
Stephen suddenly appeared from Kylie’s back. He patted her shoulder and said with a smile on his face, “Just leave it to him. Let’s go out and have a walk together. There is a big garden downstairs in the Empire Hotel.”
The two walked on the cobblestone trail, and Kylie asked all of a sudden, “Is this hotel your family business?”
Stephen glanced at the skyscraper, then nodded. “Kinda.”
“Why do you study medicine, while your family is involved in the business?” Kylie asked.
Such a family generally would choose a management course for their children when they went to study in colleges, but Stephen majored in medicine.
Stephen remained silent for a while before he opened his mouth again, “Because of my mother.”
Kylie’s steps stopped for a second.
Stephen looked up at the less glaring sun and smiled, “I am an adopted child of the Cecil family.”
There was something flashing through Kylie’s mind, but she couldn’t catch it quickly.
After a moment, Stephen picked up a fallen leaf from the ground. His tone was full of sadness. “When the family adopted me, they promised to treat my mother. I didn’t expect that I had just arrived at the family for a week, and my mother died.”
“Do you think the family hasn’t taken good care of your mother?”
“No, they took very good care of my mother.” Stephen let the leaf go, and it flew away from his palm by the wind. He then put on an absent look. “They took my mother’s kidney.”
Hearing that, Kylie didn’t know what to say.
She had heard that the rich would pay a lot of money for healthy organs, which were illegally removed from the poor’s bodies. However, when it really happened right by her side, she felt utterly uncomfortable.
She wanted to comfort Stephen but didn’t know-how.
Probably, Stephen had trained himself to be tough during the past years, so he snorted and went on.
“After a long time, I finally learned that my stepmother had a very serious uremia. In order to have her own child, she sent her biological younger sister to my stepfather’s bed.”
“However, the woman was very angry and escaped after knowing their conspiracy.”
“Was she pregnant?” Kylie suddenly asked.
“I don’t know. They’ve searched for her for a long time, but she was nowhere to be found.” Stephen held Kylie’s hand again, then they ambled among the trees. “My stepmother didn’t have much time, so I became the sole heir.”
“Well, you’ve carried a lot on your shoulders.” Kylie nodded.
Stephen gave her a glance, then wore a resigned smile. “I do hope you can share the burden with me, but it seems it won’t happen.”
Before Kylie could say something, Stephen suddenly looked at her belly.
“You’ve been with Ethan for so long. Why are you still not pregnant now?”
Kylie touched her stomach, then smiled, “He said my career is on the rise, so…”
She shrugged and smirked. “Oh, it’s just his excuse. Maybe he has a problem.”
Stephen was amused. “Let me check his body sometime!”
“Forget it, what if I have a problem!” Kylie waved her hand.
All of a sudden, her smile froze on her face, and she turned around at a slow pace.
Seeing that, Stephen frowned a little, turning around too.
Not far behind was an artificial fountain, and there was nobody around.
“What’s wrong?” Stephen asked.
“I just have a feeling…” Kylie compressed her lips. “Nothing. Forget it.”
The kind of feeling that someone was staring at your back and the sharp look was full of hatred.
Kylie walked with him for a while longer, then suddenly asked, “Do you know how Aiden is doing now?”
“He’s detained and is under the investigation of the Department of Justice.” Stephen turned to look at her. “Do you want to visit him?”
“It must be very difficult for him to accept it that his father trapped him,” Kylie said, “After Khloe’s death, her stocks are all in Matthew’s hands now, but it seems he has no intention to bail Aiden out.”
“Is it real that the super-rich families value fortune above family?”
“That’s because of Ethan.” Stephen became serious. “Ethan has always been outstanding. When he was in school, he was the best student all the time. Matthew has done whatever he could to sell Ethan, but Ethan still came back safely. And he was also the best soldier in the special forces.”
After stopping for a few seconds, Stephen smiled.
“When Ethan came back this time, he’s very afraid Ethan will take revenge. Thus he’s doing his best to collect as much money as possible,” He looked at Kylie and said. “Didn’t I tell you Ethan is very good at using the shortcomings of human nature?”
Chapter 339: Does He Hate Me?
The road Matthew had walked through to his success was all laid out by Ethan.
If Kylie wasn’t deeply loved by this man, she would feel Ethan was so frightening.
“Aren’t you afraid he’ll retaliate against you?” Kylie looked up, smiling at Stephen.
Stephen took her hand and walked back. “Nope, I have you as a hostage.”
When they passed the fountain again, Kylie paid more attention to it. It seemed difficult for someone to hide there, but where did the gaze she just felt come from?
Before she could figure it out, she sensed they were walking in a different direction. Kylie was struck dumb for a second.
“Where are we going?”
“Don’t you want to visit Aiden?”
“Now?”
“You’ll go back to the crew tomorrow, and he probably is already put in jail when you finish the shooting.” Stephen pressed the car remote control and helped Kylie cover her head to let her sit in without hitting the car roof.
In fact, it was pretty nice to have a boyfriend like Stephen because he was considerate, gentle, and tender.
Kylie pinched her jaw, thinking she must help Dinah chase Stephen. She wasn’t willing to let such a quality man be the boyfriend of a woman who wasn’t her friend, but a stranger.
Stephen drove the car and noticed Kylie was staring at him all the time.
“What, am I more handsome than Ethan?” There was a faint smile on his lips. “You’re tenderer than him. He’s always so cold!” Kylie Beamed.
“Well, no matter how cold he is, he already melts when he’s with you,” Stephen gave her a glance.
Kylie adjusted the safety belt, smiling. “You’re also more humorous than him.” Stephen pulled his lips and didn’t say another word.
He was reluctant to say it aloud that he was just a back-up. No matter if Kylie was willing to be with him or not, he would stay by her side and protect her forever.
The car stopped at the door of the police station. Stephen went inside first to get permission before he brought Kylie walking in later.
Seeing through the iron railings which were as thick as a finger, Kylie couldn’t believe this scruffy man in front of her was a then rich heir who was used to living a luxurious life.
Aiden thought the Department of Justice came to collect evidence again, so he dug his ears and shouted very disdainfully, “I already told you everything that I know. Even if you ask me a hundred times, I still have nothing else to say. I didn’t illegally take the money!”
Kylie stepped forward and called him with uncertainty, “Aiden?”
The man who was hunching his back there froze in an instant, then he slowly looked up with his eyes wide open, staring at Kylie.
After a long minute, he turned around, walking away.
“Aiden, I came here to visit you!” Kylie raised her voice, talking loudly to Aiden with the window in the middle, but Aiden already disappeared in her sight.
“Does he hate me?” Kylie turned back to ask Stephen. “If it hadn’t been for me, Ethan wouldn’t have punished him.”
Stephen smiled, then raised his hand, pointing inside.
Kylie turned again in surprise and saw Aiden walking back.
However, he seemed a little different this time.
Maybe he had used his saliva to fix his hair. Although it was still a little messy, it was obviously neater. His chin was all red, and a few noticeable long beards were pulled out.
He strode over with his back, straightened up.
Aiden swore while walking to her. “Damn it! Why didn’t you tell me you’re going to visit me? I can exchange clothes with my new friend in this damn place. He just came in today, and his clothes are still new.”
Kylie snorted with laughter.
The two sat down by a table again.
Aiden’s hand was still pulling the beards around his chin. He smiled and looked at Kylie. “You’re prettier every time I see you.”
Kylie rolled her eyes at him. “Stop pulling your beards. Do you have any wishes? Tell me, and I’ll see whether I can help you.”
“Why? I’m not going to die anyway.” Aiden grinned. “Economic crime. I’ll be free in a few years to the most, and I can build my business up by then.” Kylie understood he was just pretending in front of her face. What she just had seen at first glance when she walked in here was his real condition.
Therefore, she glanced at Stephen, then looked at Aiden and asked, “Do you want to reverse the verdict?”
Hearing that, Aiden’s body trembled a little before he raised a smile. “And then? Throw my dear father in jail? He’ll die within a year in jail.”
***
On their way back, Kylie remained silent.
The car stopped before the Empire Hotel, and Stephen turned to look at Kylie. “Are you thinking what Aiden just said?”
“Yes,” Kylie said lightly, then unfastened the safety belt.
Before they left, Aiden asked her for a favor. He hoped his mother could live a good life during her old age.
Matthew had countless mistresses, and it was impossible that he would take care of Taylor if he was put in jail.
“Shall we hire a nurse for Taylor?” Kylie asked Stephen.
“I think you better let her be a housemaid to serve Ethan’s mother. She’ll be safe by old Mr. Parker’s side.”
“Good idea!” Kylie patted on Stephen’s shoulder.
“But she probably won’t agree.” Stephen raised his hand to close the door of the elevator.
When the door closed, Kylie sensed the sharp look again, which was from the back of the pillars in the lobby.
Who is stalking me?
The housekeeper didn’t know they went to the police station until he had prepared the meal, so he warmed the food up when they were back.
“I didn’t know you’ll be home late, so the food is a little cold now. Don’t worry, I already heat them up.” Stephen’s smile disappeared when the housekeeper talked to him. He tasted the food first, making sure there were no other strange ingredients, then told Kylie to have some.
“The food is warm now.”
Kylie looked to Dinah’s room. “Dinah isn’t back yet?”
“She called and won’t come back for the meal.” The housekeeper sensed Stephen’s coldness towards him, so he talked to Kylie to allay the embarrassment.
Kylie nodded, but she didn’t have an appetite at all.
Dinah stayed by Ethan’s side and didn’t come back after a long time. Kylie was worried Ethan could encounter trouble.
Seeing Kylie being worried, Stephen said to her, “You can call Dinah after eating.” Kylie knew Stephen was giving her a hint.
They must keep their relationship a secret before the housekeeper, so she couldn’t call Ethan right now.
“Dinah must be having fun somewhere now.” Kylie smiled, then began to eat.
The housekeeper did his job very well, standing not far away from the dining table all the time.
Although Stephen refused to talk to him, he still served soup and other dishes to Stephen as usual and moved Stephen’s favorite food near to his young lord.
When the housekeeper had appeared by Stephen’s side countless times, Stephen finally lost his patience and gave him a cold glance. “I have hands.”
The housekeeper was rejected once more and stepped back to a not noticeable place.
Kylie touched Stephen’s leg with hers under the table, and Stephen gave her a side look. Kylie immediately beamed to please him.
He then raised his head, looking at the housekeeper. “Come here. Have a seat and dine with us,” he said in a cold tone.
“Lord Stephen…” The housekeeper was a little excited.
It was the first time that his young lord had invited him to dine with them, although actually, Kylie had forced Stephen to do so.
The housekeeper felt so touched.
Seeing the housekeeper almost cried, Stephen added, “We can’t eat all of them. Don’t waste food.”
The housekeeper was struck dumb for a second, then still felt thankful sitting down by the table.
Kylie hit Stephen’s leg once more.
Stephen looked at her, frowning, then unwillingly put a piece of fish on the housekeeper’s plate. “The fish tastes very good.”
The housekeeper couldn’t help but cry, and drops of tears fell on his plate.
Somehow, he felt the food tasted so good tonight.
Chapter 340: She Was Nervous
Kylie lay on the sofa reading the script, feeling the housekeeper always walked by before her.
“Do you have anything that you want to talk to me?” She raised her head, looking at him.
The housekeeper stopped wiping a vase, which actually was quite clean and shiny, then looked at Kylie with embarrassment.
“Well…”
Kylie put the script down, looking at the housekeeper with a serious face.
To Kylie’s surprise, after being silent for nearly a minute, the housekeeper said to her, “Thank you.” After that, he flushed, walking away, like a shy little girl.
Kylie was struck dumb for a few minutes, then laughed.
The housekeeper finally stopped overseeing her, and she went back to her bedroom to call Dinah.
“Do you encounter any trouble?” Kylie asked directly.
Hearing Kylie’s voice, Dinah walked away from people before she answered Kylie’s question. “We’re following Michael.”
“Did he send the goods out?” Kylie was nervous.
Michael was a desperado. He asked Ken to help him deliver the goods. Even if someone was going to be caught, Ken would be the scapegoat.
Michael, instead, could easily get away from it, while Ethan and his mates would expose themselves, but couldn’t punish Michael.
However, Dinah said in a low voice, “No, we’re going to catch Michael’s boss. I won’t go back tonight, and you must be careful yourself.” Finishing that, Dinah turned the phone off, putting it into the pocket of her windbreaker.
When Dinah was back in the room, she reported to the man sitting on the sofa and smoking silently. “Kylie just called, and she’s worried that we’ll be exposed.”
Ethan squinted a little, and his thin lips slightly opened. “What did you say?”
“I told her we’re going to catch Michael’s boss, and won’t act for the time being.” Dinah looked serious.
The man raised his wrist to check the time, then made an order in a cold voice. “Take action now!”
“Yes, sir!”
At the airport, a sweet female voice sounded in the loudspeaker, and a flight was ready for boarding.
A man in a suit with big sunglasses took his suitcase and walked to the boarding gate.
The flight attendants verified the boarding passes one by one, then the passengers walked ahead.
The sunglasses man walked up to a stewardess, then pulled down his sunglasses, whistling. The stewardess’s face turned red, glaring at him before she let him go.
Dinah whispered to the walkie-talkie, “Sparrow is aboard. Sparrow is aboard.”
In the earphones, Nate’s casual voice sounded. “Frog is ready. Frog is ready.”
The walkie-talkie fell into silence for three seconds before Nate said again, “Why my codename is Frog? I’m too handsome to be a frog!”
Dinah bent to spit the chewing gum into a trash can, then smiled. “You’re the frog prince.”
“Not bad.” Nate snapped his fingers.
When his voice just fell, Ethan’s husky voice sounded. “Cheer up, everyone. Michael is an old cunning fox.”
“Yes, sir!” Dinah walked into the ladies’ room and quickly changed her clothes.
She was wearing black stockings and a short trench coat and looked like a star when she walked.
Dinah walked over to a stewardess, then handed over her boarding card. “Please be quick. I don’t want the paparazzi to find me.”
The stewardess checked her boarding card, then gave it back to Dinah with great respect. “Miss, you look very familiar…”
Dinah snorted, “All the female Internet celebrities are copying my face now. Of course, you think I look familiar.” After that, she walked ahead with arrogance.
Once she was aboard, she noticed Ken, who was sitting across her.
“Hey, would you please?” Dinah approached him with a cigarette dangling from her mouth.
“Miss, I’m sorry. Smoking is not allowed on the plane.” A stewardess stopped her at once.
Ken made eyes at her, then threw his lighter to her. “Of course.” Dinah blew him a kiss, then walked like a model to the washroom.
As soon as the door closed, she took a note from the interlayer of the lighter.
She only gave it a glance, then contacted Ethan by radio. “Ethan, you’re right. The goods are not on the plane.”
“If so, Ken is already exposed,” Ethan said. “Do the following things as usual. I’ll handle it.”
Dinah took out a pen, then wrote it down on the note. As usual. After that, she squeezed it back to the lighter.
She took out a cigarette. After lighting it, she quickly sucked it up to let the washroom be filled with the smell of smoke.
“Thanks, but I think your lighter is running out of gas,” Dinah said to Ken when she walked by, throwing the lighter back to him.
“How come? I just bought it,” Ken said, shaking the lighter for a few times, then took out the note when nobody paid attention to him.
Less than twenty minutes after the plane took off, a stewardess began to distribute drinks. When she walked to Ken’s death, she wore a sweet smile.
“Sir, what do you want to drink?”
“Milk,” Ken said, then stared straight at the stewardess’s boobs on purpose.
The stewardess compressed her lips, then raised a smile. “Sorry, sir, we don’t provide milk on this plane. Would you mind having some coffee?”
“Well, I don’t mean cow milk, but mother milk.” Ken took off his sunglasses, leering at the stewardess’s boobs.
Before the stewardess got mad, a woman suddenly interrupted them. “What did you say? Are you an animal or something?”
“It’s none of your business!” Ken argued.
“Let me teach you how to respect women today!” Dinah said, walking to Ken with an angry face.
Seeing the two fighting against each other, the stewardess turned to her colleagues for help in a hurry.
Nate sat in the last row. When Ken and Dinah followed the stewardess entering the work area, he got up and went to the flight attendant’s rest area.
In a suitcase carried by the stewardess, there was a set of skincare products for women.
Nate opened them smelling, then put all of them into his pocket.
When he went back to his seat, he moaned in pain, covering his stomach.
“Are there any doctors on this plane? I drank the drink a stewardess served me, and now I’m having a severe stomachache!”
The plane had just taken off and encountered so many problems in such a short time.
After asking for everyone’s opinion, they all agreed to return.
When the plane landed at the airport of Seattle, red and blue warning lights were flashing on the apron.
Nate threw the set of skincare products to a policeman when he got off the plane. “Here!”
Ken followed behind and was surprised. “Weren’t the goods transferred to another place?”
“You’re exposed already.” Nate knocked on Ken’s head. “But, I’ll report to my leader on your performance, and you’ll have a shortened sentence.”
When the stewardess was caught by the police walking down from the plane, she seemed timid looking at the crowd.
Dinah followed her look, checking the crowd, but failed to find any suspects.
After Dinah walked out of the airport, she contacted Ethan by radio.
“Ethan, we find the goods, but Michael escaped.”
There was a disturbance of radio waves in the walkie- talkie, and Dinah felt it hurt her ears, so she took the headphones off at once.
After a long while, she repeated her report, rubbing her ears.
However, nobody answered her.
Nate approached her. “What’s wrong?”
Dinah rounded her eyes in shock. “Ethan is in trouble!”
