Chapter 361: It Was Getting Strange

Kylie looked through all the photos again.

From the time she left the house to the fire was put out, not only Lauren, but the man wearing a khaki trench coat also disappeared.

“Is there a blind spot?” Kylie asked.

The assistant director nodded. “The owner of the B&B set the surveillance camera himself, and the public surveillance cameras aren’t working.”

“What do you plan to do next?” Kylie asked.

“Let’s call the police. I seriously don’t know what else I can do now. If we don’t call the police, I’m afraid…”

Kylie hesitated instead. “I’m worried they’ll kill Lauren if they find out Lauren isn’t me after you call the police.”

The assistant director was obviously struck dumb for a second. It seemed he never thought about that.

“Di-did anyone contact your family?” the assistant director asked.

Kylie shook her head.

If it was an abduction, the kidnapper would contact Laurence for sure. If the kidnapper was someone who had a connection with Dora, they would contact Ethan as well.

Why hadn’t they heard any news yet?

It was said that the best time to find someone who was missing was the first 24 hours. However, a day almost passed, and Lauren was still nowhere to be found.

“Well, don’t be too worried. It probably has nothing to do with you. Let me contact Lauren’s family first.” The assistant director called Lauren’s family right before Kylie’s face. “Hi, this is the assistant director of Dangerous World. May I talk to Lauren?”

“How is it?” Kylie approached him across the table. “Did anyone contact her family?” “Yes,” the assistant director said.

“Did the kidnapper call her family?”

“No, it was Lauren,” the assistant director said with a smile. “She just called her family and told them she was going to stay abroad for a while to shoot an advertisement.”

It was getting strange.

How come Lauren went abroad all of a sudden?

It was impossible that she could take a job right after Ethan had shut her out from the entertainment industry, and the advertisement must be shot abroad?

“Are you sure she just got a new job?”

The assistant director was unwilling to be involved in this mess, so he seized this chance to exclude himself from it.

“Did you take a picture of me washing your feet?”

“Yes.” Kylie showed the picture to Ethan. “I didn’t shoot your face, but your hands only.”

Ethan had a look of it, then asked in a low voice, “Why not?”

He felt displeased that Kylie was unwilling to reveal their relationship.

“I’m afraid the staff in your company will feel heartbroken if they see their boss doing that.”

“I’m more heartbroken if you’re unwilling to admit that I’m your husband.”

Kylie giggled. “I don’t think it’s good timing now.

I just announced that I’ve secretly married William. Even though I’m going to announce that you’re my husband, I must wait until he finds a girlfriend or people will say I cheated on him.”

Hearing that, Ethan stood up and called William at once.

“I’ll give you three days to find yourself a girlfriend.”

“Uncle Ethan…” William was struck dumb when he heard that.

It was already very difficult to find himself a girlfriend, but he still had to do that within three days?

“You can’t bear the result if you don’t,” Ethan said in a cold voice, then hung up on William.

“Your feet are so cold,” he said in a deep voice, but his sight still fell on the documents.

“My feet and hands became so cold in winter every year.” Kylie approached his chest. However, when she just wanted to glance at the documents, the man closed the folder and put it on the bedside table.

She wasn’t interested in the business secrets of the Century Group. However, everything was different now, because he became the chairman of Peak Pictures.

His decisions would change the direction in which the entertainment industry developed.

Therefore, Kylie wanted to know more about that.

Seeing he wasn’t willing to show her, Kylie pouted. “What are you hiding? Is it a love letter from a woman in your company to you?”

Ethan hugged her in his arms and covered her cold hands in his big palms.

His jaw was laid on the top of her head, then said in his husky voice, “I’m going to build a worldwide superstar, and she’ll be the dominant actress in Peak Pictures.”

Kylie understood it clearly that she and Ethan worked in two different companies, and they must gain a better advantage for their own companies.

However, she still felt upset when she heard Ethan saying that he was going to help another woman be famous.

Seeing her being jealous, the man laughed and said by her ear, “I love to see your face when you’re jealous.”

 

 

Chapter 362: Are You Satisfied Now?

“I’m not jealous. I’m just afraid you’ll cheat on me!” Kylie bit the man’s jaw.

Ethan laughed again. “Don’t smear me in front of my son.”

“How do you know it’s a boy?” Kylie asked him.

“He told me when we made love last night.”

Kylie flushed and pushed him away. “Leave me alone! I’m going to sleep.”

Ethan still looked at her with his tender eyes and pulled her back. “Let’s sleep together.”

“No!”

Ethan flirted with Kylie again in bed.

“I don’t agree!” Stephen hit the marriage license on the table with great force.

It was the first day that he worked in his family’s company, and he was so exhausted when he came back, but he still had to face the mess.

Did he marry Dinah?

“You’re a legal couple now.” Agnes glanced at the marriage license, then sipped her coffee.

“You’ve made every decision of my life, and now my marriage too?” Stephen stood by the window and seemed cold.

Agnes smiled. “It’s OK if you want to divorce, but you must leave a baby for the Cecil family first.”

Stephen snorted, then walked into his room.

Dinah was doing yoga in the room. Seeing Stephen walking inside, she changed a simple posture at once and moved slowly. “Hi, welcome back!”

Stephen took a step forward and grabbed Dinah’s collar to press her against the wall. “Are you satisfied now?”

Dinah stayed calm, looking at him. “Do you want Kylie to suffer with you?” Stephen’s eyes moved a little, then he loosened his hand, but his voice was still cold. “Is this your idea or hers?”

He knew Kylie was adamant and wouldn’t change her decision once she made up her mind like she chose to be with Ethan, instead of him.

He also knew Kylie valued friendship very much, and she wouldn’t judge a person according to normal moral standards, like the way she treated Ken.

He knew it too that Kylie would do everything to help her female friends, like what she had done for Faith.

If it was Kylie’s idea, she must make the decision when she found Dinah had admired him from afar for so many years.

Kylie wouldn’t retreat just because the Cecil family was dangerous.

Dinah tidied up her clothes, then said, “No matter who made the decision, it won’t change anything now.”

She walked to Stephen with a serious face. “Stephen, can’t you see how much Kylie loves Ethan till now? Even though she was hypnotized, she still had a special affection towards him.”

Stephen seemed to be in a terrible mood and took out a cigarette to light it and had a long breath in, which he hadn’t done for a long time. “None of your business.”

“Stephen, you don’t keep her as your own property, but you should let her go if you really love her.”

Stephen looked at her, but someone knocked on the door when he just moved his thin lips to say something.

“Stephen, are you still awake?” Agnes said outside.

Dinah remained silent, then turned around, walking to the big bed. She pulled the carpet and lay down.

Stephen was quiet for a while before he walked to the door. “Yes.”

The door was opened, and Agnes frowned with dissatisfaction when she smelt the smoke. “Why are you smoking in the bedroom? It’s not good for Dinah’s body!”

“She?” Stephen gave Dinah a side glance. “She can easily beat down a dozen strong men. A cigarette is merely nothing for her.”

Agnes thought Stephen was unwilling to tell her Dinah was pregnant, so she didn’t point it out, but said with a smile, “Dinah is your wife now, and you should take good care of her.”

Stephen pulled on the cigarette, then put it out. “Mom, what do you want to say?”

Agnes hesitated for a while, then said, “Well, it’s nothing. You still have a meeting in the company tomorrow, so I come here to remind you to sleep earlier, and not…” Saying that Agnes gave Dinah a glance.

Stephen snorted.

He wasn’t interested in her at all.

Seeing he started to take off his clothes, Dinah threw her upper clothing to the floor at once.

She pulled the carpet over to cover her nipples, then said to Stephen, “I dare you to sleep with me!”

Afterward, she lay down again with her limbs stretching outwards.

Stephen stopped, then glared at her. He turned, walking to the cabinet and took out another carpet to spread it on the floor.

When the lights in the bedroom were turned off, Dinah stared straight at the ceiling, thinking that tonight was her wedding night.

At daybreak, Agnes knocked on the door again.

After that, Agnes turned to Stephen. “Why don’t you join us?”

Stephen looked at the alarm at the bedside table, and said like he just got up on the wrong side of the bed, “It’s just five o’clock. Isn’t it too early to have breakfast?”

He was so used to sleeping in the big bed, and he wasn’t wide awake just then, so he went straight to the bed and lay on it.

To his astonishment, Dinah was totally naked on the bed!

Chapter 363: Good Idea

It had never happened before that Stephen flushed so red.

He abruptly sat up and got off the bed without hesitation. When he put on his slippers, he turned around and saw Dinah was still naked on the bed.

Stephen frowned, then threw the carpet back to her body before he turned walking out of the bedroom.

Dinah couldn’t help laughing out loud, but her eyes were wet with tears soon.

Kylie was eating snacks, watching Ethan assembling a small playground in person with a broad smile on her face.

“Why do you have to do it yourself?” she said.

“Of course, I must do it myself for our son,” the man said, focusing on the instruction drawing.

All of a sudden, he stopped and pointed at a place on the drawing. “Come and have a look. I don’t think it’s right here.”

Kylie walked to his side. “Where?”

Ethan finally lost his patience and took out his phone. The caller was Nate.

“Stephen is married!” Nate almost shouted with excitement. “It’s not the point. You’ll never know who he married!”

“Dinah?”

Nate was struck dumb for a second. “Ethan, how do you know that?”

Ethan touched Kylie’s body, and his desire was burning fiercely. “Nothing else?”

“Wait for a second!” Nate shouted before Ethan hung up on him. “Stephen is drunk in the Royal Private Club. Come here now!”

That was the point. A man who seldom drank now got himself drunk.

Ethan gradually calmed down. Although Kylie couldn’t see his face, she sensed his emotion.

“What’s wrong?” Kylie rolled her back to sit on the floor and gently touched the man’s face.

Ethan hugged her in his arms and kissed the tip of her nose. “Did you set a trap and let Stephen marry Dinah?”

“Is it a bad thing?” Kylie looked at him. “I think they’re a great match, but they just need some time.”

“Good idea.” Ethan lightly pinched her face with a satisfied smile. “I think they probably need a long time.”

Ethan pushed the door of a private room open, and the smell of strong alcohol filled his nose within a second.

He glanced across the table, and there were two empty bottles of whiskey.

“Why is he drinking spirits?”

“The manager said he came here in the early morning,” Nate said with a smile. “Probably, he’s celebrating his marriage.”

Ethan gave Nate a glance with disdain.

Was there anyone who would celebrate alone like that?

Nate got goosebumps at once, then walked to the washroom and knocked on its door. “Stephen, are you alright?”

They heard the sound of flushing in the washroom, but Stephen didn’t walk out until he stayed inside for a long while.

He walked normally and didn’t seem drunk at all, but his eyes glazed, which betrayed him.

“I’m fine.” Stephen sat on the sofa, and it seemed he didn’t notice Ethan.

When he just raised a shot glass, he felt the pressure on his shoulder.

He did his best to recognize the man standing in front of him, then said, “Give me another bottle.” Stephen mistook Ethan for a waiter here.

Nate covered his face with one hand, then looked to Stephen. “Stephen, it’s Ethan.”

Stephen’s body shook a little with a gentle smile on his face as usual. “Impossible. He must be by Kylie’s side now.”

Nate wanted to explain further, but Ethan pushed him aside. Without delay, Ethan pulled Stephen out of the sofa and punched him on his face.

With a loud sound, Stephen fell down on the table and knocked all the glasses and bottles off it.

He wiped the blood off the corner of his lips, then beamed. “It seems to be true.”

“It’s…” Nate wanted to stop Ethan but was pushed away again.

Ethan lifted Stephen, seizing his collar, staring straight at him. “Since you already married Dinah, you can’t break her heart.”

Dinah was the only female soldier in their team. No matter in tactics or appearance, she was one of the best.

“Exactly!” In case Ethan would beat him, Nate stayed away from them. “I think Dinah is a good girl. She has big boobs and…”

Ethan gave him a cold glance, and Nate closed his mouth at once.

Ethan poured two shot glasses of whiskey for Stephen and himself in person.

“This is to thank you for taking good care of Kylie,” he said and drank it up.

Stephen remained silent with a faint smile on his face, then took the shot glass before him and drank it up.

Ethan filled the shot glasses for them. “And this is to thank you for you’ve given a safe Kylie back to me.”

Stephen was struck dumb for a second, but still didn’t say a word, and drank the whiskey up.

He drank it like he was drinking water. After successive three shot glasses, he stood up all of a sudden and strode to the washroom.

Before he could close the door, he threw up at the toilet.

Ethan, who always stayed clean, walked to him at a slow pace, then patted his back for a while before giving him a glass of water.

Stephen didn’t raise his head because his eyes were full of tears now.

Ethan hated him, but Ethan chose to forgive him for the sake of Kylie.

If he continued to interfere in their relationship, he would be a shameless backstabber.

Stephen fell slowly down to the ground. He held the toilet and said in a low voice with the help of alcohol, “Ethan, let me say it again. If Kylie can’t be happy with you, I’ll take her away even though I’ll take the bad guy.”

Stephen opened his eyes in dizziness and found himself lying on a sofa in Royal Private Club, while Dinah was playing a mobile game aside.

“You’re finally awake.” Dinah gave him a glance, then continued to play her game.

“What time is it now?” Stephen sat up, rubbing his temples.

Dinah was busy playing the game. “Probably, it’s past four.”

Stephen took the glass of water on the table. When he was about to drink it, he asked again. “It’s already afternoon?”

He remembered he came here when Royal Private Club just opened in the early morning, and he didn’t expect he would drink all day.

Dinah snorted, “It’s four am.”

Stephen’s body stiffened a little, then gave Dinah a quick glance. Did she stay by my side for a whole night?

Dinah pointed at Stephen and pinched her nose. “You smell like you’ve soaked in alcohol. She’ll know you’ve drunk a lot once you appear.”

Stephen gave her a glance, then took the bag of clean clothing, walking to the washroom to take a shower.

Kylie felt satisfied reading Dinah’s messages when someone knocked on the door of her room.

“Mrs. Parker, someone wants to see you.” It was Lucy.

Kylie put on a coat, then opened the door. “Who?”

“A man in a khaki trench coat.” Lucy moved her hand in the air. “Probably that high, and he’s wearing a pair of glasses.”

Hearing that, Kylie got nervous.

She knew the man in the khaki trench coat didn’t appear at the door of the B&B by accident, and it was impossible that Lauren suddenly disappeared for the shooting of an advertisement in another country.

Lucy guided her, walking to the front yard and pointed at the door. “There. Oh, he’s gone!”

Chapter 365: Do You Regret?

Kylie looked around but didn’t find anyone that looked strange.

“Fine. Forget it. Probably he’s just my fan.” Kylie pulled Lucy walking back.

“I think so. He had a notebook in his hand when he came here. I bet he wants a signature,” Lucy said. “Mr. Parker must scare him away just then.”

A notebook?

Kylie was confused.

Why did the mysterious man carry a notebook with him when he followed me here?

If he’s one of the paparazzi, he should bring a camera with him.

When they walked back to the living hall, Ethan stepped downstairs.

He put on casual clothes, and his hair seemed soft and fluffy after being blown by the hairdryer.

Ethan hugged Kylie’s shoulder and smiled. “I’m 18 in bed at night. Do you want to have a try?”

Hearing that, even Lucy flushed red and went to prepare breakfast in the kitchen.

Kylie lightly patted his chest and said with a smile. “I set them up after all, and I should pay more attention to them. It’s said that if three couples get married after you set them up, you’ll give birth to twins.”

Ethan smiled. “I prefer to rely on my own ability.”

“Does your family have a gene of twins?” Kylie asked.

“Yes,” Ethan said. “My mother has a twin sister.”

Ethan poured a glass of milk for her, then spread butter on her toast. “I just saw her photo once when I was a kid.”

Kylie had a bite of her toast. “Your mother never contacted her during the past years?”

“No,” Ethan said. “It seems there was something unpleasant that has happened between them, so my mother isn’t willing to bring it up.”

“Do they resemble each other?” Kylie was growingly curious.

“Not really. I think one of them resembles the father, while the other resembles the mother.” Ethan smiled at Kylie. “If our son resembles you, he could be good-looking too.”

Kylie was displeased and took a large bite of the toast to vent her anger.

Ethan laughed, then added, “It’s fine if the boy resembles you, but the girl must inherit my advantages.” Kylie took another large bite in anger.

“You have a bad temper. If our daughter resembles you, I’m afraid no man is willing to marry her,” Ethan said with a serious face.

Kylie couldn’t tolerate it. She had the last bite of her toast and drank the milk up.

“What do you mean? Why is no man willing to marry our daughter if she resembles me? Do you regret…” All of a sudden, Kylie noticed Ethan wearing a broader smile on the face.

Ethan pulled her closer and let her sit on his legs.

“My son isn’t bad-tempered.”

Afterward, he kissed her cheek. “What’s your plan today?”

“Faith invited me to visit Ken today.”

Seeing the man being displeased, Kylie hugged his neck. “Thank you for what you’ve done for them. Although Ken has to stay in jail for the following three years, Faith still wants to wait for him.”

Ethan stared at Kylie but didn’t say a word.

Kylie kissed his forehead but was stopped by the man. “Did you wipe your mouth clean?”

“Nope, but I think it’s clean now.” Kylie beamed, and the man kissed her without delay.

Leaning against Ethan’s chest, Kylie enjoyed his passion but soon felt something tough was pressing against her lower body.

She pushed him away and said, “No sex, no love.”

Ethan was struck dumb for a second and looked at her with confusion.

Kylie laughed. “Since you’re so smart, I’ll let you have enough if you can think of the next line that rhymes.”

After that, she ran upstairs at once.

It was an interesting game Kylie just saw on the Internet if a couple could think of two lines about sex that rhyme, they would live a harmonious sexual life.

Although Ethan was really smart and was a business genius, it wasn’t easy for him to think of the next line.

Kylie thought she was so brilliant. At least she was safe today.

When Kylie changed her clothes in the bedroom, she said to her baby in her belly, “Baby, isn’t your mommy smart?”

Ethan grabbed her feet.

Her feet were a little cold, so the man warmed them up in his big palms, then bent her legs.

He approached, and his eyes were shining with pride.
