Ch. 446..450: Fatal Kiss Of The Vampire Chapter 446-450

Chapter 446: Do You Feel Uncomfortable?

Hearing the footsteps moving away, two lines of tear flew down from the corners of Vivian’s eyes.

Harvey sang along the way to the reception. He hit his bank card on the table. “Same room for tonight. Do remember to prepare the magical pill beforehand.”

The duty manager gave a glance at his card and smiled. “Sir, I’m sorry. Each guest can only have one pill for free.”

“How much is it? I can pay for it.” Harvey had spent much money on the disease, but it was still the same. Not only had this magical pill cured his disease, but it also allowed him to have violent sex with three women for a whole night.

It wasn’t a problem if it could be solved with money.

The duty manager put on a mysterious smile, then stuck a finger up.

“A hundred?” Harvey smiled with disdain. “Give me a box of it.”

The duty manager smiled but shook his finger.

Harvey was struck dumb for a second. “A thousand?” As long as he could have erections, he was willing to pay much money for the pills. “Swipe the card!”

The duty manager was still wearing the mysterious smile and kept shaking the finger, which Harvey ached to cut it off right now.

“Out of stock?” Harvey was displeased. “If it’s out of stock. Cancel the room for tonight.”

When he was about to take his bank card back, the duty manager moved faster and pressed it down. “Ten thousand dollars a pill.”

“What the f*ck?” Harvey was shocked.

He didn’t take his bank card back but walked aside to make a call. “Hey, bro, are you sure this nightclub isn’t a gangster inn?”

There was a round of hoarse breathing on the phone. “What? You value money above the benefits of the magical pill?”

“Ten thousand dollars a pill! Are you serious?” Harvey snorted.

“Without the pill, I don’t think you can enjoy your sex life anymore,” a man said on the phone. “Let me be honest with you, you can’t buy the magical pill anywhere else once you walked out of this nightclub.”

“You’re not kidding me, aren’t you?” Harvey turned to look at the duty manager. The duty manager still smiled at him as usual.

“Have a try.” When the man was going to hang up, Harvey asked again, “Bro, did you lose all your fortune on it?”

“Ha-ha, you know it, man.” The phone was hung up.

Harvey smirked. Now he understood why Matthew became so poor now.

Matthew was running out of money now, but he wasn’t. He and his older brother’s company was profitable all the time.

Therefore, Harvey went back to the reception with a broad smile on his face. “Keep the same room for me!”

Once Harvey was gone, the duty manager’s phone rang, and Matthew’s voice sounded again on the phone. “Did he book the pill?” He sounded like he pleased the duty manager.

“As the agreement, we’ve made, you can get a magical pill as long as one of your friends becomes our client.” The duty manager smiled.

***

The shooting of Oh, Mother began today.

The first scene was about the family life of Kylie and James, then they would leave their home for work at the same time.

The kid, Peter, was sent to the school by his grandmother, Kate. On their way, Peter saw his father’s car stopped by the roadside, and there was a woman sitting inside.

Peter told his grandmother that he saw his father’s car.

However, when they were ready to shoot, Vivian, who was the supporting actress in the show, was absent.

“Where the hell is Vivian?” The executive director lost his temper. “She’s just a supporting actress, and we’re all waiting for her!”

Vivian’s assistant ran over in a hurry. “I’m sorry. Vivian is nowhere to be found.”

The executive director rolled his eyes at her. “You don’t need to tell me. Call the police!”

Vivian’s assistant almost cried out. She glanced around the set but failed to find Harvey.

Vivian left with Harvey last night. Even though she was going to call the police, she must ask Harvey first. Right when she was in great anxiety, Harvey’s car drove in the set.

“Mr. Wyatt, Mr. Wyatt!” Vivian’s assistant dashed ahead and shouted at Harvey.

Harvey rolled the car window down and glanced at her. “Who are you?”

“I’m Vivian’s assistant. Vivian…” Vivian’s assistant kept her voice low. “Vivian is absent today.”

“Oh.” Harvey realized what she was asking. “It’s normal. She’s still sleeping now.”

Vivian’s assistant was finally relieved. “But, how should I explain this to the executive director?”

“It’s fine. I’ll go tell him to shoot the next scene first.” Harvey shook his hand.

“Thank you so much, Mr. Wyatt!” Vivian’s assistant smiled with tears in her eyes.

When Kylie and Kate heard the news that they were going to shoot the next scene first, both of them were surprised.

“Did Vivian withdraw?” Kate asked.

“I don’t think so,” Kylie said with certainty. Vivian had paid a lot for the role; it was impossible that she would give it up. There must be something wrong.

Actors needed time to remember the lines for the next scene, and the executive director gave them half an hour.

Fannie put the coat on Kylie’s shoulders, then said, “Lucas just called, and the check was delivered.”

“Great.” Kylie nodded and kept on reading the lines.

“Lucas said Faith was crying hard.” Fannie turned to look at Kylie’s face. “If she changes her mind, will you accept her?”

Kylie put the script down. “I understand her, but it doesn’t mean I’ll indulge her.”

Hearing that, Fannie nodded.

Kylie laid her feet on a chair and gently knocked her legs. “My legs don’t feel well.”

“Is it lower body edema?” Fannie rolled Kylie’s pants up and found her legs were swollen. “You should let Stephen check it.”

“I’ll go find him after today’s shooting,” Kylie said, then noticed a blue Lamborghini stopped at the outside of the set.

Fannie stood up with a smile. “Here, he is!”

Stephen was wearing a black suit and carried a Thermos bucket in his hand.

“Hi, President Cecil, why do you come here in person?” Fannie quickly joked at him.

Stephen gave the Thermos bucket to Fannie. “Did Nate teach you to be so naughty?”

“Nope, Kylie did,” Fannie said, and winked at Kylie, then poured the soup out.

Kylie sat in the chair at ease. “I just said to Fannie that I’m going to find you tonight.”

“Do you feel uncomfortable?” Stephen’s eyes were very tender.

“My legs are a little swollen.” Kylie rolled up her pants to show Stephen.

It seemed Stephen already knew it would happen. He lightly pressed her legs and said.

“Eat less salty and sweet food. I’ll send you some soup when I’m free in the following days. It’s good for your body.”

Kylie smiled at him. “Do you mean every day?”

Chapter 447: They Never Met Before

Stephen rubbed her hair with a broad smile on his face and nodded.

Fannie walked over with a bowl of soup in her hands.

She took a long breath. “Wow, it smells so good.”

Afterward, she handed the soup to Kylie and said to Stephen, “Stephen, you’re so stingy, and you just bring soup for one person.”

Kylie glanced at the soup bowl in her hands, then turned to Fannie. “I can’t eat that much. We can share it.”

Hearing that, Stephen seemed displeased.

Fannie actually was just joking. “No, thanks. I’m on a diet now, and I don’t eat high-calorie food. Enjoy it when it’s still warm. The shooting will begin soon.”

“Eat it as much as you can.” Stephen looked at Kylie with a pair of tender eyes.

Kylie then started to eat the soup.

However, she had a growing, strong feeling that Stephen wasn’t so gentle as he looked on a superficial level.

A touch of evil flashed by his eyes once in a while.

“It’s very delicious, thanks!” Kylie gave the soup bowl back to Stephen. “Why doesn’t Dinah come here with you?”

“I have no idea what she’s up to these days. She’s always absent.” Stephen put the soup bowl into the Thermos bucket. “Don’t work too long, and I’ll have a prenatal examination for you next week.”

Before Kylie could say something, the production assistant ran over and told her the shooting began.

“I’m afraid I can’t walk you out,” Kylie said, standing up.

“It’s fine. You can go back to work, and I need to deal with something at a nearby place.” Stephen waved his hand at them, then left the set.

“Does Ethan know Stephen sends you soup?” Fannie asked Kylie in a low voice.

Kylie shook her head. The soup should be safe if he sent it here in everyone’s sight.

It was the first day of the shooting of Oh, Mother, so the executive director didn’t want the actors to feel stressed and ended it when it was just a little past five in the afternoon.

Fannie drove Kylie home, but Kylie told her to stop the car halfway.

“What’s wrong?” Fannie asked and stopped the car by the roadside.

“What’s that place over there?” Kylie pointed to a club.

“Earth Nightclub? It’s a nightclub.” Fannie looked out of the car window following Kylie’s finger.

Kylie compressed her lips. “I think I just saw Vivian walking out from it.”

“Vivian?” Fannie stared at the entrance. “I don’t see her.”

“Let’s go. Probably it wasn’t her.” Kylie smiled.

When Kylie’s car joined the traffic on the road, a woman slowly walked out from the back of a telephone booth.

Vivian’s head was wrapped in a towel, and only her angry eyes were bare in the air.

She took out her phone and made a call. “Meet me half an hour later at the café.”

Within 20 minutes, the door of the café was pushed open twice.

Faith glanced around but failed to see Vivian. Right when she was about to leave, she noticed a woman wrapped in thick clothes sitting at a corner waving at her.

She walked near. “Vivian? What happened to you?” Vivian’s cheeks were red and swollen. She had a mouthful of coffee, then inhaled in great pain. There was a large bruise at the corner of her lips after she put down the coffee cup.

She took out a piece of paper from her bag and threw it in the front of Faith. “When can we begin?” She couldn’t stand this torture any second longer.

Faith sat down across her. She picked the piece of paper up and rounded her eyes in shock when she read the words on it. It was the premises permit of a downtown house with the best location.

“We can begin right now, but you can’t keep any secrets from me.” Faith didn’t look at Vivian until she put the premises permit well in her pocket.

“I’ll tell you everything!” Vivian grasped the coffee cup, and the hatred in her eyes turned to be arrogant in a second.

Her good days were about to come.

***

They shared dinner at the Parker family’s house tonight.

After dinner, Kylie had a walk with old Mrs. Parker in the garden. “Mom, the temperature is lower these days. Do remember to wear more clothes.”

“I always move in cars, and I don’t feel the coolness, but you can’t wear thick clothing in the set, right? I heard the show setting is summer.”

“I can put on thick clothing once the scene is over. It’s fine.” Kylie smiled. “Are you used to the service of the new housemaid?”

“Do you mean Jane? She’s a good, diligent girl.” Old Mrs. Parker stopped for a second. “She seems very happy recently. I think she probably heard some good news from her family.”

“It’s the happiest thing she feels to be able to serve you.” Kylie and Old Mrs. Parker sat down on a bench.

Seeing there was nobody around, Kylie said in a quiet voice, “Mom, Adolph is in Seattle now, and I’ll have a prenatal examination in Stephen’s clinic next week. I’m afraid Ethan might run into him.”

Hearing that, old Mrs. Parker looked serious. She thought for a while, then said, “They’ve never met before. I don’t think they can recognize each other even though they run into one another, but they better not see each other.”

“I think so, so can you…” Kylie blinked at old Mrs. Parker.

Old Mrs. Parker snorted with laughter. “I understand, you little naughty girl.”

They chatted for a while longer, and the wind blew all of a sudden, so Kylie walked old Mrs. Parker to her room in case she was caught by a cold.

When Kylie was about to leave old Mrs. Parker’s room, she encountered Jane, who served soup to old Mrs. Parker.

“Kylie!” Jane beamed the moment she saw Kylie. “I heard you came and wanted to say hello to you, but the kitchen is shorthanded, and I can’t leave.”

“It’s fine.” Kylie smiled. “How’s your mother now?”

“Thank you so much for your help! My mother is fully recovered.” There was a broad smile on Jane’s face all the time, like what old Mrs. Parker had said.

“I heard old Mrs. Parker say that you’re very happy these days. Do you have any good news?” Kylie asked.

“Yes.” Jane approached Kylie and said in a low voice, “The area where my family lives is under demolition, and we got a large amount of money as compensation. I also feel happy that I can take care of old Mrs. Parker!”

“Ha-ha, glad to know that.” Kylie smiled, then helped her push the door open. “Go inside now.”

“Thanks!” Jane walked in at once.

Kylie then left for the front hall. She planned to find Ethan, and they could go back home earlier, but she noticed old Mr. Parker criticizing Matthew by chance.

“Idiot!” Old Mr. Parker snapped at Matthew. “Why couldn’t you do anything well?”

Matthew lowered his head in silence, but he actually didn’t care about it at all.

“I gave you the money for your business, not to…” Old Mr. Parker had a mouthful of his coffee, trying to calm himself down. “Don’t go there again!”

Matthew finally raised his head, but Kylie almost screamed in a scare when she saw his face.

She hadn’t seen him just for a few days. Although he had a ruddy face and bright eyes, his cheeks were hollow. Even his hair was half less than before.

“Father, I don’t have any motherly hobbies, but I just love exercise.” Matthew pouted. “If you forbid me to do that, I would rather die!”

“Don’t fool me! You’re not exercising, but ruining yourself!” Old Mr. Parker abruptly threw the coffee cup at Matthew, but it fell on the ground and broke into small pieces.

All of a sudden, a hand covered Kylie’s mouth from her back. She stiffened and moved around at a slow pace.

Chapter 448: He Was Worried

She was shocked when her husband’s face appeared in front of her. She didn’t notice when Ethan come behind her, without any sound.

“How did you came behind me?” Kylie whispered.

Ethan dared not to answer his wife or tell her that he had an extraordinary power to send him anywhere than the average human being had.

Ethan signaled her not to make any sounds with his eyes.

Kylie nodded, then pointed at Matthew with her finger.

Ethan looked over, and his eyes were full of despise. He pulled his lips, then carried Kylie in his arms before walking away.

“What happened?” Kylie asked him once she sat in the car. “What work have you arranged for him? He looks so abnormal.”

The security fence of the Parker family’s house slowly rose, and the Knight XV drove outside.

Ethan didn’t open his mouth until the car was on the road. “Do you think he looks like that because he’s worked hard?”

“Isn’t it?” Kylie adjusted the safety belt. When she just placed her feet on the windshield, Ethan gave her a cold glance, and she sat well on the seat at once. “Matthew said he’s exercising.”

Ethan snorted with disdain and sped up.

The Knight XV was driving fast ahead, but it was very steady. Ethan also opened the warm wind, and Kylie soon fell asleep.

Her head was nodding while she was in her sleep.

Ethan noticed that by a side glance, then reached out his arm to let Kylie’s head stay on his shoulder.

Kylie fell into a sound sleep after she found a comfortable and safe position.

She didn’t open her eyes until she felt someone was rubbing her jaw.

“Are you awake?” Ethan’s handsome face showed up in her sight.

Kylie stretched her arms and sat up. “Are we home?” She wiped her lips, which were wet. “Did I slobber?”

Ethan smiled. It was a silent affirmative answer.

Not only had Kylie slobbered, but she even had snored as well.

“You stay with Ethan every day, and you still slobber when you see him?” Dinah suddenly appeared from Ethan’s back and beamed at Kylie.

“Dinah!” Kylie was wide awake now. She pulled her hand and asked in a hurry, “I met Stephen today, and he told me you’re always absent these days. What are you up to now?”

“He just passed the set, and said hi to me.” Kylie knocked her shoulder against Ethan’s body.

Ethan squinted at her but didn’t say a word.

Dinah wore an embarrassed smile. “Ethan, don’t worry. Stephen is my man now, and I promise to keep a close eye on him.”

“Let’s go inside.” Ethan didn’t smile at all but turned to walk into the house.

Kylie exchanged a glance with Dinah, then they shrugged at the same time. “Ignore him, he’s a jealous husband all the time,” Kylie joked.

“That means Ethan cares about you.” Dinah closed the car door and followed Kylie walking inside. “I’ve been absent from home for a couple of days, but Stephen has never asked why.”

“It’s not a bad thing to have freedom.” Kylie felt envious of Dinah.

In the living hall, Lucy had already prepared two cups of coffee and warm milk for Kylie.

Kylie sat cross-legged on the sofa with a glass of warm milk in her hands and listened to the discussion between Ethan and Dinah.

It was quite professional, but Kylie still roughly understood it after listening for a long time. Ethan was asking Dinah whether she had found out the clown’s real identity.

“I have a bold suspicion,” Dinah said and compressed her lips. “When Michael died, someone had injected adrenaline into his body. Its amount wasn’t big, but it was deadly enough. I think he must have been involved in the medical industry since he’s adept at it.”

“In addition, I’ve checked the surveillance videos of that night too. The man’s build looks quite similar to the clown. The clown could be the man who killed Michael in prison.”

“Is the clown the mastermind behind the scene?” Kylie interrupted them.

Dinah looked at her with a serious face. “We’re not sure, but it’s possible.”

Ethan looked downwards, and it seemed he was thinking about something.

Seeing him remaining silent, Dinah didn’t dare make any sounds. Kylie, instead, drank the milk loudly to attract Ethan’s sight.

After a long while, Ethan raised his head with a pair of cold eyes. “Have you determined the compositions of the drug yet?”

“Clown canceled all the deals after we failed to kill him last time. We haven’t got the sample yet.” Dinah felt a little guilty. If she hadn’t been so impulsive, probably they had already caught Clown.

“I can give you a clue.” Ethan sipped his coffee, and his eyes looked as quiet as a pond in the late night. “Matthew Parker.”

“What?” Kylie spouted milk out of her mouth in shock.

Ethan drew some tissues out and wiped Kylie’s lips clean. “Drink it slow,” his voice was gentle.

“Do you mean Matthew is on the drug so that he looks abnormal?” Kylie was still in shock.

“What happened to Matthew?” Dinah moved forward for more details.

However, Ethan didn’t answer her question but stared at Kylie. “Why do you think he has become like that?”

“I…” Kylie didn’t know what to say.

“Ethan, couldn’t you answer my question at first?” Dinah reached out her hand to the middle of their eyes.

Normally, Dinah didn’t dare behave like that before Ethan’s face, but it was about Clown this time.

They had chased the drug dealer for over a dozen years, and she ached to find out the cruel mastermind behind the case.

Ethan finally turned to look at her. “Matthew has lost a lot of weight within a short time, and he has frequent large cash outflows, especially these days, but I don’t think he’s on traditional drugs.”

Hearing that, Dinah clenched her fists. “I’ll go investigate it right now, and I’ll contact you once I get any new information.” Dinah ran outside at once, and they soon heard the loud sound of a Harley motor moving fast away.

The living hall fell into silence in an instant, and Kylie sensed Ethan was checking her with his eyes.

She knew what Ethan wanted to say, so she slowly put the glass down on the coffee table, then ran upstairs all of a sudden.

“I’m sleepy, and I’ll go to bed before you!” Kylie shouted when she slammed the door.

Ethan didn’t follow her up but took out a cigarette which he had quit for a long time from the handrail cabinet. In the night, Ethan was deep in thought, and the cigarette was burning in his fingers.

This tough man felt a little excited with anticipation but was also upset.

If he had still been in the army, he could have joined Dinah to investigate this case and chase the criminals.

However, he was a successful businessman now, and he also had a happy family. He wasn’t alone anymore but was expecting his babies with his beloved woman. He was also worried about his big secret that he hadn’t mentioned to his wife. He’s an immortal, and Stephen knew his secret. He pretended that he needed Stephen’s help to retain his human form, but the truth was he can retain his human form anytime as he was a hybrid alpha-vampire. Stephen thought the medicine he formulated had helped Ethan all this time.

And considering Kylie as a famous actress, people paid much attention to her. He couldn’t ruin Kylie’s career. All he needed to do now was to take better care of his woman.

Several thoughts run through his head, and with a blink of an eye, he sped up to the dark corner of the garden area and shifted himself into his natural form. He’s using his mental telepathy to check Stephen’s activities, and when he was satisfied with what he saw, he shifted back then went to their bedroom. He took a shower before he lay on the bed.

Kylie pressed her soft, fragrant body on him without delay. “Did you smoke?”

Chapter 449: Faked News

Ethan kissed her long hair. “How do you know it?”

Kylie held his hand with their fingers entwined. “I have a perfect sense of smell, and I can smell whether it’s fragrance or smoke in a second.”

Ethan hugged her with his strong arms. Hearing his heavy heartbeats, she felt for him.

“Ethan?” She called him lightly.

“Yeah,” Ethan answered.

“I’m not your soft spot.” Kylie kissed his jaw with stubble. “I’m your support.”

Ethan lowered his head and kissed on her lips.

“I know you’ll never forgive yourself if you can’t catch the drug dealer with your own hands.” Kylie smiled. Her beautiful smile in the yellowish light was engraved in his heart. “If you want to do it, I’m supportive of your decision.”

“Kylie,” Ethan’s eyes became wet. He covered his head in her long hair and felt so grateful that he could marry a girl who understood him.

Kylie raised her hand, and her fingers moved by his brow bone, his beautiful straight nose then stopped at his sexy thin lips.

When Ethan was about to say something, Kylie pressed his mouth.

“Sh, don’t say anything.” Kylie pulled Ethan’s hand to cover her belly.

Ethan focused on his palm. At short notice, something jumped under Kylie’s shiny, smooth skin.

“They’re moving! They seemed to feel my warm hand,” Ethan’s voice was full of excitement.

“Yes,” Kylie pressed Ethan’s hand on her stomach. “Even our babies agree on what I said to you just then. They’re also supportive.”

“Honey,” Ethan hugged her again with great force. He loved this girl so much that he even tried to rub her into his body.

“Ha-ha, stop.” Kylie was reluctant to cry, but she couldn’t help whimpering.

All of a sudden, a buzzing noise sounded.

Ethan then loosened his arms around Kylie and turned to answer the call from Dinah.

“Ethan, I just followed Matthew walking into the Earth Nightclub. A prostitute in it told me Matthew is a frequent visitor here, and he orders two women every time! He seems much stronger than his age.”

“Earth Nightclub?” Ethan frowned. “It’s not a good place for a girl. You can let Vincent do the investigation.”

“I know,” Dinah said, then hung up.

“Did you just say Earth Nightclub?” Kylie asked Ethan.

“How do you get to know that place?” Ethan looked at her.

Kylie thought for a while, then still decided to tell him what had happened between Faith and Vivian. “Vivian was absent today for the shooting, and I saw a woman who looked like her walking out from Earth Nightclub on my way home.”

“Are you sure?” Ethan asked.

“I’m not sure, because the woman’s head was wrapped in a towel. I thought she could be Vivian from her build,” Kylie sighed. “She might be absent again tomorrow, but she must show up at the set the day after tomorrow, and I’ll ask her by then.”

“Be careful.” Ethan pulled the quilt over and told Kylie to sleep.

The next day, Vivian was absent again, but a piece of news about her went abroad.

“I’m surprised she’s so warm-hearted,” a prop master said.

“I think a woman must know how to protect herself well,” a gaffer said.

“She finally has positive news after being criticized for a long time because of her mistress scandal,” the production assistant said.

Kylie walked by them and pretended to be curious. “What are you talking about?”

“Hi, Kylie, we’re just gossiping.” The gaffer smiled at her at once.

The prop master gave Kylie his phone. “We’re talking about Vivian. She’s the hottest entertainment news now.”

Kylie took his phone and read the headline. A famous potential actress saved a girl’s life. There was Vivian’s photo under it.

The news said Vivian ran into a girl who wanted to commit suicide on her way back home after the film opening ceremony.

She got out of her car and did everything to stop the girl, but the girl kicked and punched her like a crazy person.

Vivian spent much time persuading the girl to cherish her life, and the girl gave up the idea of killing herself at the end. The girl didn’t know Vivian’s identity until Vivian drove her home.

Seeing Vivian’s injured face, the girl felt utterly guilty. Therefore, the girl turned to a reporter and told the reporter the touching story after Vivian was gone.

Kylie handed the phone back to the prop master and said with a smile, “Do you know which hospital Vivian stays at? We can go visit her together after today’s shooting.”

“I’ll go ask someone who knows it right now.” The production assistant ran away.

Fannie walked to Kylie’s side when Kylie was about to put on make-up. “Since when Vivian became so warm-hearted?”

“It’s fake news.” Kylie looked at herself in the mirror. “Faith did it. She’s helping Vivian now.”

Fannie sighed. “Do we need to interfere with it?”

“It’s fine. If she can gain much attention, it’s a good thing for the new show.” Kylie smiled. “I’ll go visit her with Ms. Green at the hospital after today’s shooting. Help me prepare a good gift for her.”

“Sure,” Fannie said, then sat on a chair reading news in silence when a make-up artist walked in.

She needed to learn how Faith would help Vivian find a position of influence in the entertainment industry.

During the break at noon, Kylie noticed the familiar car stopped at the outside of the set after she just got her takeout.

“He’s really coming every day?” Fannie stood up and left the chair available for Stephen.

Stephen put the Thermos bucket in front of Kylie. “You have an early lunch.”

“Yeah, the shooting went well today.” Kylie patted the chair next to her and told Stephen to sit.

James planned to discuss the plot with Kylie with his food in his hands but walked away when he found out she had a friend sitting with her.

“James, don’t go. Come and eat together.” Kylie stopped him.

James smiled at Stephen before he sat down. “Is this… your fiancé?”

“Um.” Kylie glanced at Stephen. “He’s my fiancé’s close brother.”

“Oh, nice to meet you. I’m James, and I’m Kylie’s husband in the show.” James greeted Stephen politely.

Stephen said, “Nice to meet you too.”

James approached Kylie’s ears and asked in a low voice, “Isn’t he the president of Empire Hotel?”

“How do you know it?” Kylie asked.

“I stay there during this shooting, and I’ve seen him a few times,” James said.

Seeing their heads were about to touch each other, Stephen interrupted them. “Kylie, I think you better eat the soup now, or it’ll be cool.”

“Oh, right.” Kylie took James’s bowl. “James, you must have a taste of this soup. It’s so delicious.”

Chapter 450: She Did That On Purpose

Kylie held James’s bowl in her hand, but Stephen abruptly stood up before she could open the Thermos bucket.

“I just remembered the soup is overcooked today, sorry.” He lifted the Thermos bucket up, then turned around, striding away without hesitation.

James was struck dumb for a second, seeing Stephen slam the door of his Lamborghini, then turned to look at Kylie. “Is your friend mad?”

“No, it’s fine.” Kylie didn’t bother to glance at Stephen and began to discuss the following scenes with James while eating.

She did that on purpose.

Kylie meant to let Stephen know their relationship clearly. He now was Dinah’s husband, while she was Ethan’s wife. They were close friends, but there were boundaries as well.

Ethan was displeased that Stephen sent her soup yesterday.

Although he didn’t say it aloud, Kylie knew what she should do.

Stephen, however, didn’t leave right away after he went back in his car.

He had a little anticipation that Kylie might chase him up.

He anticipated Kylie could explain to him that she treated James well only because they needed to work together in the new show for a long time. If so, he could understand it.

Nevertheless, to his surprise, no matter how hard he slammed the door and even pretended to answer a call to extend time, Kylie wouldn’t give him a look, let alone chase him up.

With a loud sound, Stephen threw his phone away, and it hit the windshield.

There was an obvious leak that appeared on it at once.

Stephen, who could always stay calm, now lost control of himself because of Kylie.

At this moment, his phone, which rolled down beneath his chair, rang all of a sudden. Stephen took a long breath in to compose himself before he bent to pick it up.

“What?” He sounded cold.

“Where are you now?” Dinah said in anxiety. “I need your help. I just found a new clue of the Clown.”

“Meet me at the Empire Hotel an hour later.” Stephen hung up the call, then turned to look at the door.

Staff members were walking in and out, but Kylie was still absent.

When Stephen was back in Empire Hotel, Dinah and Vincent were already waiting for him outside his suite.

“What you’ve found?” Stephen glanced at the small bottle in Vincent’s hand, then opened the door of his suite.

Dinah lost her patience and pushed him to walk inside. “Let’s get inside now! We’ve waited for you for a long time!”

Vincent still remembered that Stephen had been the other man in Ethan and Kylie’s relationship, so he was very dissatisfied with him and leaned against the wall in silence.

He didn’t follow them up until the door was open. After entering the suite, he still sat on the sofa without saying a word.

Dinah was the hostess here to some extent. Since Stephen wasn’t willing to talk to Vincent, she at least should pour a glass of water for him.

When Dinah walked away, Vincent stared at the Thermos bucket placed on the coffee table by Stephen with a cold face. “What? You still have hope?”

Stephen came back with the Thermos bucket, which meant he must have left to send soup to someone.

Kylie was the only answer in his mind.

“I don’t think you have the right to ask me questions about my personal affairs.” Stephen looked unkind and leaned backward on the sofa with his legs crossed.

“I know,” Vincent snorted. “You don’t deserve a friend. Not even Dinah because she’s a good woman. And oh, are you going to threaten me about the biggest secret of my clans. Huh, Lord Ethan will not let you off, bear that in your mind,”

“Are you threatened?” Stephen beamed.

“You think so? You a mere human, while I am an immortal, think before you act,” Vincent warned him and threw a disdainful look.

Kylie was the girl of Stephen’s close brother, and it was unacceptable that he tried to steal Kylie away from Ethan.

After a while, Dinah walked out with a glass of water and noticed the tense atmosphere in the living room. The two men sat across each other, but refused to talk or look at one another!

“Vincent, have some water.” Dinah put the glass of water down in the front of Vincent, then winked at him.

She wanted to remind Vincent that he must tolerate it no matter how he disliked Stephen because they needed Stephen’s help now.

Vincent understood her meaning, but it was hard for him to be kind to Stephen.

“Here.” Vincent squeezed the bottle into Dinah’s hand. “You can tell him, and I’ll wait for you in the car.” After that, Vincent stood up and left.

“Hey!” Dinah called him, but Vincent wouldn’t turn around. “Well, since he’s gone, you can take this glass of water.”

Hearing that, Stephen gave her a stern look. Dinah pouted, then picked the glass up. “Fine, I’ll get you a new one. Neat freak!”

Saying that, she walked back to the kitchen, but she thought it would be a waste of water if she poured it out.

She took out the cup Stephen usually used from the closet, then poured the glass of water into Stephen’s cup.

“Do you know Earth Nightclub?” Dinah asked when she walked towards Stephen with the cup of water in her hands.

“Yes, it grew fast. Although it looks normal on the outside, the inside is completely different.” Stephen took the cup and drank the water.

Dinah was astonished. “Have you been there before?”

Stephen looked at her. “You just want to ask me this?”

“Of course not.” Dinah denied it. “Anyone who stays there for the first time will get a magical pill for free, but it costs 10 thousand dollars the second time!”

Stephen snorted with disdain. “If you’re simply jealous of their profits, and there is nothing else you want to tell me, I need to go back to my company.” Saying that, Stephen moved forward and was about to put the cup down.

“Please don’t!” Dinah supported his cup with her hands. “There is something serious I need to tell you.”

Stephen raised his cup again. “Don’t waste my time.”

“I got reliable information that the guests who have taken a magical pill will be addicted to it. Let alone 10 thousand dollars, they’re willing to spend a fortune on it!”

Dinah said. “I did everything I could and took back a magical pill. I need you to help me test it.”

Stephen stretched out his hands. “Where is it?”

“Wait a second.” Dinah stood up and walked into the kitchen. She just put the small bottle in the kitchen cupboard.

She took the bottle out and shook it, but didn’t hear any sounds. She frowned with confusion, then turned it upside down.

“Jesus!” Dinah was shocked.

It was empty!

The pill was gone!

“W-what happened?” Dinah got nervous. “I saw Vincent put a pill into it with my own eyes.” She walked in circles, then stopped all of a sudden.

Vincent didn’t notice where the bottle cap was when he squeezed it into her hands.

The pill must have slid down into the glass of water when she held it walking back to the kitchen.

Thinking of that, Dinah felt a little scared.

“Stephen!” She dashed out of the kitchen and checked the cup in his hands at once.

Dear God, it was also empty!

Stephen had drunk the water up.
