Chapter 486: Reiner – Another Wedding

“Congrats again. Enjoy the party afterwards,” the groom said before winking at us.

After getting our photos taken with the bride and groom we headed to mingle with the rest of the crowd. The party felt like any other normal party at any other normal wedding and that made me relax. Apparently, it wasn’t uncommon for couples on the island to get married the more normalized way that matched with the modernized tradition. I doubt that the couple that we met just now shared their first wedding night in a cave close to the sea.

“Wow, Knight! We haven’t seen you for so long,” a man said as he greeted Reiner.

He was probably one of Reiner’s friends from his school days. The other members in the crowd quickly gathered around Reiner and me. These people must be his friends as well. He had never mentioned any of them to me before.

“It’s good to be back. I know it’s been a long while,” Reiner said before smiling.

It was strange to see Reiner interacting with so many people at once, not that he was an antisocial person, but Reiner was more on the stern and silent side rather than the talkative one.

“Introduce your beautiful lady to us please,” a woman urged.

“Right. This is Natalia. We recently got married so she’s my wife,” Reiner said as he proudly introduced me.

My lip stick and my dress matches! Everything is going to work out great.

“Hi, I’m Natalia. Great to meet everyone,” I said politely before smiling one of my sweetest smiles.

“I’m so happy that you brought her along just like you agreed to,” the woman continued saying.

“Right. Umm...Natalia this is Charm. Charm this is Natalia,” Reiner quickly introduced us.

“I’m Charm. I’m one of Knight’s few good girl friends from his school days. Well, there weren’t many girls in the school. My father was crazy enough to send me there of all places...” she said before she started laughing.

“Happy to meet you. I’m Natalia. I just moved to this island so happy for tips about everything,” I replied cheerfully.

“Did you like the ring?” Charm whispered close to my ear.

The ring? Does she mean the wedding ring that Reiner gave me?

“Of course...” I replied as I waited for her to explain.

“Oh, my family trades diamonds, you see. So, I had the honor of helping Knight pick out the perfect ring for you. I hope you like it,” she declared proudly.

I see. This woman is the one who picked out such a large diamond for me. I smiled at her before I nodded my approval. She seemed genuine and honest, although I still wanted to know how much money she sucked out of Reiner for this ring.

“It looks good on you, I have to say,” Charm continued as her eyes fell to the massive rock on my ring finger.

“Oh, I love it! I can’t even start to tell you how perfect this ring is for me. Everything about it is perfect. Thank you so much for helping Knight pick this one out,” I replied enthusiastically, mindful that Reiner was right beside me.

Reiner went ahead and introduced me to his other friends and after sharing some small talk here and there, we were ready to excuse ourselves to head back home. Overall, I truly enjoyed the wedding and meeting his friends. They all seemed like nice people although I had to say that the various businesses that their families were involved in weren’t really the standard type. I bet I couldn’t complain much considering the nature of Reiner’s family business.

...

After a relaxing shower where I also washed my hair, I walked out of the bathroom in our bedroom while my hands worked busily at drying my hair with a towel. Reiner had already showered, and he looked very ready for bed as he lay on his side on our king-sized bed.

“Should I help dry your hair for you?” Reiner offered before he smiled kindly at me.

He’s spoiling me rotten more and more every single day.

“That would be beyond wonderful...” I replied as I sat down on the stool in front of my vanity table.

Reiner got up from the bed and approached me with a hair dryer in one hand. He started blow drying my hair and I couldn’t stop wondering why he was so good at it. The sound of the hair dryer was quite loud, so I decided to hold in my questions before I started asking them.

“Did you enjoy the wedding, or did you find it boring?” Reiner asked after he was done drying my hair.

That made me forget the question that I had in mind as I focused on answering his question instead while he started running a brush through my hair.

“Of course, I enjoyed it. I thought it was very fun and your friends were all a good sport,” I replied with a little laugh.

“Really? I’m not the close to any of them anymore...” Reiner replied quite regrettably.

“You’ve moved back now so I’m sure that you all can reconnect,” I said reassuringly.

“Maybe...” Reiner said passively.

It seemed like he had something on his mind although he continued to brush my hair for me. Thankfully, my hair was quite smooth, and no obvious tangles were present.

“Is something the matter?” I asked as I looked at him through the reflection in the mirror in front of me.

“Natalia...” Reiner said my name softly after a short pause.

“Hmm?” I made a questioning sound as I urged him to continued with what he wanted to say.

“Actually...there’s something that I need to tell you,” Reiner said as if he was about to confess that he had done something wrong.

“Tell me?” I asked as I turned around to face him.

This better not be something bad. Please...please...please...

“Do you...want to have a proper wedding?” Reiner asked slowly and hesitantly.

Chapter 487: Reiner - Anything with You

“A proper wedding? But we already had our wedding, right?” I asked, fully confused.

“We’re married now, you’re right...but I was asking more about...like the classic church wedding where you wear a proper wedding gown, and we exchange rings and all that...” Reiner continued as he struggled to explain.

A proper wedding?

“Are you ok? Is something wrong?” I asked as I started to panic a little.

“Nothing’s wrong. I was just thinking how rushed our wedding was and it was strange so I was wondering if you wanted to have a proper wedding...and you can invite your friends, family and guests over...” Reiner said solemnly.

Was that what had been on his mind all along? I was shocked because I hadn’t expected anything like this from him before. Reiner seemed worried and I wasn’t quite sure what he was worrying about exactly.

“Whose idea is this?” I asked suspiciously.

“King’s...” Reiner confessed softly.

“King’s idea?” I asked, even more shocked than before.

“Yeah. Honestly, I was against it at first because I thought that it would just be an unnecessary hassle but then I thought that maybe you would want a proper wedding...like everyone else. It’s not that often that you’ll get married, right?” Reiner said before he smiled gently down at me.

I loved it when he looked at me like this. It was like I could feel his love pouring out and it made me feel all warm and secure inside. The way his blue eyes looked at me told me that he was sincere.

“Why does King want us to have another wedding ceremony?” I asked, still struggling to understand.

“I don’t know. He seemed pretty insistent and so...” Reiner replied before trailing off.

“So?” I pressed for him to go on.

“So, I was sort of forced to go along with it. If it’s not too much trouble, mind walking down the aisle with me?” Reiner said before he grinned sheepishly at me.

“I have no idea where this is all coming from but...I’ll be happy to do anything with you,” I replied before we both started giggling.

“Honestly, I didn’t think that it would be a good idea at all but then I thought that having a normal and proper wedding wouldn’t be so bad. I’ll get to see you look all pretty and dolled up in a wedding dress and we can take loads of photos just like how the other couples do it,” Reiner said with a slightly dreamy look in his eyes.

I wondered what he was imagining in his head. Having a proper wedding wasn’t a completely bad idea. Perhaps deep down I had wished to have a wedding that was common and similar to the other people that I knew. It wasn’t like I was looking forward to wearing big wedding gowns or anything along those lines, but it would be great if I could get some photos of my wedding with Reiner. After all, we didn’t have a single wedding photo after all the trouble that we went through to get married based on King’s long and difficult procedure.

“Let’s have the best wedding ever!” I declared boldly before I stood up and literally threw myself into his arms.

Reiner laughed a little as he hugged me tightly against his chest. I could feel his heart beating along with the warmth of his chest against my cheek. He smelled of the soap and shampoo that I had chosen for him. Happiness had a clear definition when I was in his arms.

“I love you...” I said as I stared up at his blue eyes.

“I love you,” Reiner replied simply.

I never knew that those three words could mean so much until he said it.

...

“I guess it would be smooth if we went on our honeymoon trip after the wedding celebration,” Reiner suggested as we stared at the calendar together.

My eyes zoomed in at our wedding date as a lump of nervousness formed inside in my throat. When Reiner brought up the idea and I agreed to it, I had no idea that the wedding that King had in mind would take place around a week after.

“You’re right. It does make sense. I still don’t know where we should go, though? Maybe some nature escape or something?” I suggested something that I thought would totally suit Reiner.

“Or we can chill around on another private island that King has tucked away somewhere...completely peaceful and undisturbed,” Reiner suggested.

I was about to open my mouth to ask if King had a secret operation base there on that other island as well but then I decided against it.

“That might be nice. If you don’t want to go to the big cities, then I don’t mind going to another private island...” I replied as I imagined us alone on some deserted beach.

“I’ll talk to King about it. There shouldn’t be any issues...” Reiner said reassuringly.

“Thank you, R,” I thanked him with a wide smile.

“We don’t have a lot of time, so why don’t you get Queen to help you out with somethings?” Reiner suggested.

I knew that Queen would probably be a big help, but I didn’t really want to disturb her and she seemed quite busy with work as of late.

“That’s ok. I don’t really want to burden her with all this,” I politely declined.

“I said that, but in reality, Queen has been nagging me to let her get involved. So, if it doesn’t hurt much, can you get her involved somehow in the preparations just so she can get off my back?” Reiner confessed before he sighed.

“Of course, I could definitely use her help,” I replied with a sincere smile.

“You girls have fun...” Reiner said like he was happy to finally be rid of one of his problems.

“What kind of wedding do you want to have, R?” I asked the question that had been floating in my mind since Reiner suggested that we have a proper wedding.

“Me?” he asked like he was confused why I was asking for his opinion.

Well, it is our wedding...

“Yes, you. You’re the groom...so I think it matters what you want,” I said exasperatedly.

Chapter 488: Reiner - Don’t Run Off

“Anything that you want is fine for me. Honestly, I’ve never thought about this before...” Reiner admitted a little shyly.

“Really?” I asked curiously.

“Yeah. I never thought that I would really get married...” Reiner confessed before he grinned wryly at me.

Really?

“Hmmm? Even with King nagging you like that?” I asked to tease him a little.

“Well, if I run off and never come back here then I probably don’t have to marry anyone,” Reiner replied in a light teasing tone.

I wondered if he could do something like that but then quickly realized that he probably could.

“Don’t run off anymore, ok?” I said as I grabbed his arm and hugged it while snuggling my head on his shoulder.

All those times I woke up with him gone in the past still haunted me and I never wanted to experience that again in this life. Next time, if something would come between us so that we had to part, I prayed that that would be inevitable death and nothing else.

Reiner didn’t reply to me, but he did turn to smile warmly my way before dipping his head down to place a sweet kiss on my forehead. I was too happy in that moment that I ended up forgetting everything about getting his preferences on the wedding.

...

“Having a classic wedding is nice! What do you have in mind? We could do it in a church, on the beach, in a garden, on a large rooftop up high...oh...there are just so many options,” Queen said excitedly.

She seemed more excited about this than I was, but her enthusiasm was quickly rubbing off on me.

“I want to go with something simple and not so...troublesome...” I replied with the best words I could find to represent my preference.

After going through all that complicated stuff, I couldn’t wait to have a simple ceremony where I would just have a lot of time to take photos with Reiner. I would be simply happy just to stand at his side as we both smiled, laughed, and hugged each other while we got some photos taken in our white and simple wedding dress and tuxedo.

“Something simple...and classic...” Queen said as she seemed deep in thought.

I had to admit that even though everything seemed up to me and I had the freedom to choose, I wasn’t sure what I wanted either. Maybe it was time that I did some research online to see what I fancied seriously this time around.

“I want something small and private...where we feel like a family...I guess...” I mumbled softly.

If only my mother was still here, she would definitely be with me on my important day to support me and wish me well for my married life and the future ahead. If only she was still here...

“Sounds good,” Queen agreed with a bright smile.

“Yeah...” I whispered before I tried my best to put on a proper smile.

“I suggest you use an organizer to help you. My friend runs a business that specialize in organizing weddings, if you want, I can link you up with her,” Queen suggested enthusiastically.

“That would be great. With the time constraint, I think I’ll really need their help,” I replied with a thankful smile.

In the end, despite the many options that Queen laid out on the table, I decided to go with a simple church wedding in a small church that I found out about through browsing the local forum board online. If I can get Reiner’s thoughts on this, then I can proceed to do other things on the long list of to-dos.

“What do you think of this place?” I asked as I showed Reiner the screen of my laptop.

“For our wedding?” he asked, getting the message immediately.

“Yea...” I replied softly.

I watched Reiner closely to judge his reaction. Honestly, there wasn’t much for me to judge because Reiner just nodded his head once.

“What do you think?” I pressed him to make a comment.

“Looks fine. It’s kind of small...” he finally voiced his thoughts.

“Is it too small?” I asked, now feeling slightly worried.

“Want to go see for yourself?” Reiner suggested as he wrapped his arm around my shoulder from behind.

“We can?” I asked as I started feeling more than a little excited.

“Sure. Let’s go see it together,” Reiner replied with a small laugh.

“When can we go?” I asked, unable to hold back my excitement any longer.

“We can go now if you want. It should be open and it’s definitely not a popular place so it shouldn’t be crowded...” Reiner said before he smiled at me.

Going to check out a potential wedding venue for our wedding together with Reiner seemed like the most romantic thing ever at that moment.

“Let’s go!” I said with so much passion when I stood up abruptly from the chair.

“There’s no need to rush...” Reiner said as he followed me out the door.

Reiner wasn’t as thrilled as I was to visit the small and tucked away church, but he did offer to drive us there. Just that fact made me feel all fuzzy and warm inside that I couldn’t stop giggling into my own hands as I blushed. Reiner gave me a weird look from where he was sitting next to me in the driver’s seat.

When we arrived, I was ultimately very surprised at how much the small church and its surrounding matched with the photos that I saw of it online. It was as if time was frozen there, and nothing had changed much about the place at all compared to when the photos were taken. The church looked small even from the outside, but it was surrounding by a well-kept garden with many tall trees that I thought added well to the serene atmosphere.

The way the wind blew and lifted my hair away from my face felt like the place was welcoming us with opened arms. Just as Reiner had predicted, the place wasn’t busy at all. Apart from the two of us, I didn’t see anyone else around.

Chapter 489: Reiner - Loving Morning

“Shall we take a look inside? Maybe there’s someone here we can ask about using the place for our wedding as well,” Reiner said as he took my hand in his and began leading me towards the church.

“Good idea,” I readily agreed.

Walking through the garden with Reiner holding my hand felt so romantic and I began picturing us walking together just like this one our wedding day. Without knowing it, I had fallen very much in love with the small church and its surrounding grounds. The church was painted simply in white, and the interior was very simple with wooden benches.

“It is kind of small...” Reiner said, although not disapprovingly.

“Yeah. You don’t like it?” I asked, feeling slightly worried.

“It’s fine. It’s not like there will be many guests anyways. I guess that you want to keep it pretty private, right?” Reiner asked, guessing very correctly what I wanted.

“Well, it’s going to be private for me considering that I don’t know that many people on this island,” I replied with a small laugh.

That’s right. All the people that I know felt like they were living in a completely different world from where we were.

“I really like this place. It feels very homey, and I can sort of see how I want this place to be decorated on the day,” I said as my mini fantasies started running wild in my head as I looked around the interior of the church.

“It does have a relaxed and homey feel,” Reiner said in agreement.

“Right? We can put some flowers over here...and here...and around here too...” I said as walked along with Reiner to various spots within the church.

I looked up at the orange natural light pouring in from the outside that told me that the sun was probably setting right around now.

“It’s so pretty. I think the best part is the natural light that comes in through here,” I said as I pointed to where the light was shining in.

It just made everything look that much more magical. As I stood by Reiner’s side in front of the alter, I felt a little more like his wedded wife. It was a strange and very illogical feeling but aren’t feelings supposed to be illogical sometimes?

“Should we have our...I don’t know...third ceremony here?” Reiner asked before he laughed

The way his laughter reached his eyes as he smiled at me told me that we were in the right place.

“Yes, we definitely should,” I replied without hesitation.

...

The day that Reiner and I got married in that little church was the most perfect day in my entire life. I felt something soft and warm press against my naked shoulder and that made me stir a little from my slumber. I opened my eyes in the next moment to see Reiner kissing my shoulder. My hand reached for his red hair in reflex before I started running my fingers through his hair. It felt like the perfect morning to laze around in bed with Reiner until both our tummy growled hungry for some lunch.

“Natalia...” Reiner called my voice softly.

I had no idea why his voice sounded slightly stern. A soft moaned escaped my lips as I turned my body on my side towards him. My arms were around his large torso before I buried my face into his chest. He always smells so fresh, I thought as I took a few deep breath of his scent.

“Natalia...” Reiner said again and this time the warning tone in his voice was clearer than before.

What does he want so early in the morning?

“Hmmm?” I made a questioning sound with my eyes still closed.

It feels so comfortable just staying like this. I can hear his steady heartbeat against my ear, and it sounds like the drums of heaven. My eyelids felt so heavy that it made me feel like I didn’t have it in me to open my eyes.

“Natalia...you should wake up now. You’re going to be late...” Reiner said and this time his large hand began shaking my shoulder gently.

Late? Late for what?

My eyes shot open when the importance of this day suddenly hit me like huge bus.

“It’s morning?! Already?!” I screamed as I sat up in bed.

My head felt dizzy after getting up too fast and I had to close my eyes for a few seconds to clear it away.

“Yes, it’s morning already...” Reiner confirmed before he started laughing a little at me.

“Why didn’t you wake me? We’re going to be late!” I exclaimed as I quickly clambered out of bed.

“Who do you think woke you up just now?” Reiner said like I owed him a great debt.

“Oh no...we have to hurry or we’re going to be late. Where is the make up artist and the hair stylish right now?” I asked as I started panicking.

I scrolled through my phone so fast that my eyeballs almost couldn’t follow as I tried to find the chat room that I shared with the artists.

“You’re right. You should hurry and get dressed so we can go to the church,” Reiner said calmly.

“I know that...” I retorted as I opened the wardrobe.

I rummaged through my clothes aimlessly as I looked around to find the things that I needed to bring with me that I had set aside since the night before.

“Arghh...you should have woken me up earlier...” I began complaining.

“Don’t blame it on me. What kind of bride turns up late to her own wedding?” Reiner asked teasingly.

My hands stopped moving as I stopped whatever it was that I was doing and turned to glare at him. I didn’t want to deal with this right now.

“Your bride. The bride that’s going to be late to her own wedding is YOUR bride!” I cried out loudly before I made crying face.

Reiner must have found my desperation very funny because he couldn’t stop laughing. After making sure that we had everything that we needed, we were off on our way to the church. I knew from the first step that I took out of the mansion that today was the perfect day for us to have our third wedding ceremony.

Chapter 490: Reiner - Ready to be His Bride Again

The weather was just perfect, and I could imagine how beautiful the church would be with the natural light shining in from above. Despite Reiner’s teasing that we were going to be late, we arrived at the church roughly on time. The staff team and our stylists were already there to greet us. Queen’s friend and her team did an outstanding job in helping me organize everything the way that I wanted.

“We still have some time before you need to do your make up and all that. What about you walk around and check on things. The flower and decorations look amazing even if I do say so myself,” Queen’s friend said proudly.

I could tell that she was right even before I took a step into the small church. The flowers decorating the entry way to the church was exactly the color that I had wanted. A combination of orange, blush pink, and red coupled with deep green leaves. All those warm tone colors were colors of the sunset that I loved, and the color somewhat matches with the color that Reiner told me was his favorite. I wasn’t sure if he remembers, though.

“Wow! This is just amazing...” I exclaimed in awe when we were finally led into the church.

When I talked to the organizer about the flower decorations, I gave them rough guidelines on the colors that I wanted, some style reference photos and locations of where I wanted the decoration inside of the church. The result of that was beyond amazing. The size of the church made it easier to decorate and the team did an outstanding job of transforming the area in front of the altar into a mini flower field of warm tone flowers. There were also flowers along the aisle just like I had envisioned. Overall, there wasn’t too many flowers to make it messy and the colors really did stand out in contrast to the simple white color of the church’s interior.

“Was this what you had in mind?” Reiner asked casually as he looked around.

“Yes. Do you like it?” I asked with a bright smile.

Reiner turned and returned my smile before he nodded.

“Sorry to break you two lovebirds up but it’s time for both of you to start getting dressed,” Queen said firmly.

When did she get here?

“I’ll help you, Natalia,” Queen quickly suggested as she pulled on my arm and began leading me away.

Reiner smiled and waved a hand at me as I was being pulled away towards the dressing room. I felt butterflies fluttering in the pit of my stomach when I thought that the next time that I see Reiner, I’ll probably be walking down the aisle of the church towards him. Because no one from my family was present at the wedding and I didn’t want to bother King in walking me down the aisle, I decided to simply brave the entire walk alone. It would just make me feel uncomfortable and slightly intimidated to have King by my side. After all this time, I was still quite scared of being close or alone with King although I had married his son and have spent some time living under the same roof as him.

Just like the church, the room at the back that we decide to use as dressing rooms were small. However, there was just enough room to fit myself and the key members of the team in there. Queen sat on a close by chair to where I was seated as she shared small talk of random thing to entertain me while I had my face make up and my hair done.

“Are you sure that you don’t have a look in mind?” the make up artist asked again to make sure.

“That’s right. I guess anything not too flashy and something that goes well with the dress would do,” I replied before nodding firmly at her.

“Alright then. What about your hair?” the hair stylist asked as she lifted up a lock of my hair.

“Anything that goes well with the dress would do, I think...” I replied honestly.

“Up or down,” she asked as she held my hair up to show me what I looked like with my hair up in the mirror.

“What would you recommend to match the dress?” I asked.

“I would say up. I don’t know, but personally, I find that having your hair up makes it seem like a more special occasion than leaving it down,” the hair stylist voiced her opinion.

“Let’s have it up then,” I replied without hesitation.

“Alright then, please turn this way a little and close your eyes,” the make up artist said.

I didn’t have the time to be bored at all during the entire process because Queen happily chatted away while the make up artist narrated every single step about what she was doing to my face. While all of that was going on, the hair stylist was busy pulling on my hair as she was putting my hair up into a stylish bun.

...

“All done now. Let’s see how you like this,” the make up artist said excitedly.

I opened my eyes and stared at myself in the mirror with widened eyes as I leaned even closer to the mirror.

“Wow...I look so beautiful!” I exclaimed with confidence.

“You really do,” Queen quickly agreed.

I wasn’t just saying it because I was overly confident in my looks but the make up and the hair really did look great. The soft pink and rose gold make up tones truly brought out the glow of my skin and the roundness of my eyes. The hair stylist had curled my hair before piling it up into a stylish bun on the top of my head. The effect made my neck look longer and slimmer. She also skillfully left a wonderfully curled lock of hair to one side of my cheek to make the entire look dreamier.

“Thank you so much. I feel so ready for the wedding already,” I said with confidence before I smiled at them.

“Not yet. You don’t even have your wedding dress on yet. You’ll look more like a princess after wearing it for sure,” Queen said cheerfully.
