Ch. 1201..1210: Chapter 1201-1210
Chapter 1201
Ivor pondered, 'Bonnie was conducting research in Pyralis, but I was suspicious of her. Of course, she'd get mad. I'm the issue in this situation. There's only one way to solve it. I need to settle the chip fiasco quickly and return to her.'
Meanwhile, Bonnie did not expect him to apologize. A hint of curiosity flashed in her eyes before she felt guilty. After all, she lied to him even though she told him not to lie. Ultimately, she became a hypocrite. Even so, Bonnie had a good reason for it. She knew her husband would have been worried if she had told him the truth.
"That's right. If you miss me, you should finish your work quickly and return to me as soon as possible. That's how you'll solve our issue," Bonnie continued after a brief pause, "You know, there's no issue between us. You just keep worrying about me.
"You're not in Pyralis, so I understand if you grow suspicious. Still, I'll repeat what I said. I wish you'd trust me more."
Her words made Ivor think more deeply. He pursed his lips and said, "You're right, honey. I'm sorry I acted this way. It's all my fault. I hope you're not mad at me."
"Ivor, we've known each other for a long time. Do you think I don't understand you? We've already discussed it, so I have nothing to be mad about," the more Bonnie talked, the guiltier she felt.
She felt the same way Ivor did. Although he feared she would get mad, she was also concerned he would get upset if he discovered she was in Yale and not Pyralis.Chapter
'Keeping all these secrets is
tormenting me,' Bonnie thought, 'I
don't want to rack my brain constantly lying to my husband. Still, the consequences of this incident are too far-reaching and involve international organizations.
The last thing Bonnie wanted was for Ivor to discover all this and get dragged into its dangers. Otherwise, she would have told him about it sooner.
Ivor agreed, "I'm sorry. I guess I've been oversensitive because we've been away from each other for too long. I'll try to stop overthinking things and return to Pyralis when I finish my work here."
Bonnie softened her tone, replying, "All right, I'll be waiting for you here. Come home soon, dear."
Ivor was momentarily speechless.
He only wanted to return to his wife and hug her tightly, but he could not do that yet. Worse, he could only talk to heron the phone and not touch her only made the separation
more agonizing.
He gripped his phone briefly before hesitantly saying, "L-Let's talk again another time, honey. I'll hang up now. Take care of yourself and wait for me."
Suddenly, Bonnie felt solemn. She sighed and replied smilingly, "You too. Come home as soon as possible. You've been away for too long, and I miss you."
Chapter 1202
"Bonnie, did you say you miss me?" Ivor usually never heard her saying that out loud. After hearing it, he grinned.
Bonnie did not deny it. "Do you think you're the only one who can feel that way? Of course, I miss you."
"Yeah, you can feel that way!" Ivor said affectionately, "I wouldn't have it any other way!"
Bonnie blushed before clearing her throat to hide her shyness. "Um, if you miss me so much, you'll have to finish your work and come home to me."
She had repeated herself countless times because she did not know what else to say to him. Bonnie had always been passive in their relationship. Mostly, Ivor was the one who took charge, and she would only follow his lead.
Meanwhile, Collin was listening to their conversation. He could not take it anymore when Bonnie told Ivor she missed him.
'Can the chief be any cornier?'
Ivor said playfully, "All right, I'll finish my work and return to you quickly. It must be hard for you not to see me as often as you'd like. I can just imagine how disappointed you feel."Chapter
Bonnie was already shy but grew uneasy when he teased her. She retorted, "I never said I hate not seeing you as often as I'd lie. Cut it out!"
Ivor could sense the shyness in her tone and could not resist chuckling. "That's what I heard. Well, why don't you clarify just how much you miss me? Is it a lot or just a little?"
He had been away from his wife for too long and finally had a chance to tease her. Since that was the case, he made full use of it. He admitted that making fun of his wife cheered him up from his previous gloominess.
Meanwhile, Bonnie blushed even more. Although she had grown accustomed to Ivor's sweet talk, Collin was listening, too. Moreover, Bonnie was always authoritative and intimidating as the Nidhoggs' leader. Bonnie could only imagine what Collin must think of her now that he saw a different side of her. She suspected he would make fun of her since he was pretty quirky. Just thinking about it made her feel awkward and troubled.
Ivor's smile grew when he noticed his wife's lack of response. He said, "Why aren't you saying anything, Bonnie? We've been married for a while now. You don't need to feel shy. It makes me want to "
"Stop right there!" Bonnie stopped him when she realized he was about to flirt with her sexually.
She could tolerate it if it were just them, but Collin was listening. Bonnie knew her husband would say genuinely embarrassing things at inappropriate times, and she could not bear such shame.
Ivor realized he had overstepped his bounds and feared he might upset her. He also thought Bonnie would refuse to answer his future calls, so he stopped teasing her. Instead, he said, "Okay, I'll stop," Bonnie could only roll her eyes.
Chapter 1203
"As usual, you're the expert on being smart-mouthed," Bonnie said.
Ivor said mysteriously, "Not exactly. I'm excellent at other things, too. Do you want to guess what those are?"
Bonnie knew he was about to sweet-talk again. However, she could not help but ask curiously, "What are they?"
As if he predicted her response, he replied affectionately, "I'm good at loving and missing you."Chapter
Although he would occasionally say such things to his wife when she was beside him, he had
demonstrated his love for her through actions more frequently. Since Bonnie was not with him, he could only express his love through words.
"Cough, cough! Cough!" Bonnie was so shocked that she choked. She knew he would say something like that but did not expect him to be so bold.
Meanwhile, Collin could only bear the couple's constant flirting. Even so, he almost choked as Bonnie did when he heard what Ivor said. Collin struggled to stay composed at that moment. Otherwise, he would make an even bigger mess for Bonnie.
Ivor heard Bonnie coughing and quickly asked with concern, "Why are you coughing so hard? Are you okay?"
Her lips twitched, thinking, 'Ivor has always been this outspoken. I just can't deal with him sometimes.' She helplessly rubbed her brows and said, "I'll be okay if you rein it in a little."
Ivor feigned ignorance, saying, "I speak from the heart, honey. How do I rein it in?"
Bonnie rolled her eyes, thinking his shamelessness had far exceeded her imagination. Then, she looked at the time and realized more than an hour had passed, even though she barely spoke to her husband.
'I'm running out of time. Billy's chef will probably serve dinner soon. Worse, I haven't even prepared for tonight. Unfortunately, I can't talk to Ivor any longer.'
Bonnie was about to say something when Ivor's voice sounded, "Bonnie? Are you mad at me? I'll stop flirting if you don't like it."
Ivor only wanted to tease his wife to cheer her up. After all, they had been unhappy from being separated for a long time. However, he thought he had overstepped by teasing her too much.
"That's not it, Ivor. Something else happened at the research institute that needs my attention," Bonnie said as she tightened her grip on her phone. She even pursed her lips as she spoke hesitantly, "Let's hang up for now. I'll try to make time to call you again
Chapter 1204
Bonnie tried to soothe Ivor, hoping he would not feel disappointed over what she said earlier. She could feel how much he missed her throughout their conversation.
Ivor had a lot of fun talking to his wife, but she felt like a killjoy for asking him to hang up. She knew he would be disappointed and regretted treating him that way. However, she had no choice.
'Tonight's dinner might be Billy's greatest test, so I must prepare for it. Otherwise, he might catch me off guard, and I don't have a backup plan. If that happens, I'll be in real danger.'
Ivor was reluctant to hang up but did not want to slow down her work. He also did not want her to feel bad for hanging up on him. Therefore, he chirped, "It's okay, honey. Go and attend to your research. You can call me whenever you're free."
Bonnie struggled to adjust to Ivor's cooperativeness. She pursed her lips and probed, "Ivor, are you mad at me?"
He was stunned before chuckling, "What? Of course not. Something happened at the research institute, right? Why would I be mad at you for hanging up?"
"Well, it's hard for us to chat this freely, and I'm hanging up because of something that happened here. I was worried you'd consider me selfish." Although Bonnie had an important task, she felt terrible about hanging up, even though her husband said it was okay.
That was because she realized she cared about Ivor's opinion and feelings. He said he was worried Bonnie would get mad, but she felt similarly about him. That was how things always worked, and they always understood each other.
"You're the world-renowned Bonita, the science prodigy who's Arvandor's pillar. Your research is crucial to the nation. Since I'm your husband, I should support you fully," Ivor paused and softened his tone, " Not only do I not think you're selfish, but I'm also proud of you.
"I can never comprehend how incredible you are. After all, you're constantly researching and developing countless unbelievable things."
Bonnie felt a warmth in her heart. "Thank you for being so understanding, dear."Chapter
Although she was not at the research institute then, the technology needed to create the chip she was trying to retrieve was closely connected to her research. What moved her was Ivor's thoughts.
Initially, Bonnie thought he considered her selfish, but he surprised her by telling her how proud he was. Bonnie felt pride swelling in her chest as she thought, 'I knew I married the right man with the biggest heart!'
Ivor said, "Isn't that my duty as your husband? You don't need to thank me."
He knew his wife felt guilty because she had to hang up, so he tried to soothe her, "Although you're married to me, you still have your life to live. You're still Bonita. I won't restrict your freedom. Let me know if you need help, and I'll do everything possible to support you."
Chapter 1205
Moved by Ivor's words, Bonnie felt a lump in her throat. Although she was not sentimental, Ivor had always worn his heart on his sleeve around her. She could feel his sincerity and effort to soothe her.
Bonnie rechecked the time and realized she had to rush to prepare for tonight.
'It looks like I'll have to tell Ivor how I feel when I return to Pyralis. Considering my current situation, this isn't the right time to say such things. After all, I have a pressing matter to tend to. I'll finally reunite with him once I've completed my mission.'
With that in mind, Bonnie suppressed her emotions and said, "Well, it's time to hang up. I'll have to deal with things here before I can call you again. If I'm still busy tonight, it'll have to wait till tomorrow."Chapter
Initially, she wanted to tell Ivor she would call him back sooner. However, she could not predict what would happen tonight. Bonnie did not want Ivor to wait by the phone all night, so she told him she might call tomorrow.
"All right, get back to work, honey." Ivor feared Bonnie would feel bad if she hung up, so he did it first.
Collin looked down at Bonnie's phone when he realized Ivor had hung up. Soon after, Collin broke the silence, saying, "Jeez, Chief. You and Ivor are so in love. I want a relationship like yours just by listening to you two talk."
Bonnie rolled her eyes. "I can't tell if that's a compliment or you're being sarcastic."
"Of course, I was complimenting your relationship with Ivor!" Collin said sincerely, "He was understanding by prioritizing your feelings over everything else. I finally understand why you married such a stand-up guy."
"You're stating the obvious, Collin." Bonnie raised her chin, delighted with Collin's praises for Ivor. She added, "I've never been wrong about a person's character."
"Of course you are, Chief! You've never misjudged anyone," Collin agreed.
Bonnie smiled at first. Then, she thought about her dinner with Billy and frowned, saying, "All right, that's enough chit-chat. I must prepare for tonight, or I'll blow my cover."
Although she had never gotten caught with her pants down, she knew being prepared was crucial nonetheless. Moreover, she never underestimated her enemies.
Collin did not argue. Instead, he said, "I'll let you get back to it. I'll tell you if your husband calls or texts. You can count on me."
Chapter 1206
“All right, I'll hang up now." Bonnie ended the call and began her preparations based on how she predicted Billy would test her. She even took extra precautions when preparing.
Once Ivor ended his call with Bonnie, he looked at Floyd and ordered, "Call the Nidhoggs and ask them for an update on their leader's infiltration. Get them to tell us when we can begin our operation."
"Right away, Mr. Ivor." Floyd took his phone and quickly called Collin.
Buzz, buzz! Buzz!
Collin heard a phone vibrating and thought Ivor was trying to call Bonnie again. The former sprang up from his bed and braced himself for it. However, he realized his phone was vibrating instead of Bonnie's.
Collin answered the call, "Hello?"
Floyd asked, "My boss wants to know how things are going for your leader and when we can begin our operation."
Collin said impatiently, "Come on,
man. Our chip got stolen, and my leader's in the belly of the beast. All you guys have to do is sit and wait. No one expects you to do anything dangerous, either. Why are you rushing us?
"I won't mind you bugging me once, but you ask for a million daily updates. If you can't wait, we'll send our people in to save Mr. Boyd. We don't need the Dark Knights!"
Collin was furious because Bonnie had to deal with Billy while caring for Ivor's needs. She had a lot on her plate as it was. Although the Dark Knights were their allies, they kept bugging the Nidhoggs to rush things.
Floyd wanted to argue but knew the Dark Knights were at fault. Instead of responding, he turned to Ivor and whispered, "Did you hear all that, Mr. Ivor? How do you want me to respond?"
Ivor massaged his temples and said,
troubled, "Stop rushing them.Chapter
Indeed, their leader is in a tough spot. Their impatience is only natural since we keep bugging them for updates. I'm anxious to wrap things up, but I shouldn't pressure them. I'm at fault for not thinking it through."
Floyd nodded. "Understood."
The former was about to respond to Collin when Ivor recalled something and frowned, saying, "Hold on a minute."
Floyd asked, "What's wrong, sir?"
"Don't you think Collin sounds
similar to Allen, the new researcher at Bonnie's research institute?" Ivor had overheard Floyd's conversation with Collin. The more Ivor listened, the more he found Collin's voice familiar.
Chapter 1207
'Now that I think about it, doesn't Collin sound similar to Allan, the new researcher at Bonnie's research institute? I always found Allan's voice familiar. Now, I think the answer is within reach after I heard Collin's voice. Moreover, their names sound so familiar. Is it just a coincidence?'
Floyd considered it and responded, "Their voices sound similar, but it has got to be a coincidence. Do you honestly think the people at Nidhogg are somehow connected to Ms. Bonnie?"Chapter
"You say that, but this is too much of a coincidence. Something feels strange." Ivor pursed his lips and fell into deep thought.
Floyd was about to say something, but he heard Collin's voice from the other end of the phone.
"Do you have something else to say? If you don't, then I'm going to hang up now. I want you guys to refrain from calling and asking about my chief's progress.
"Once the time is right, she'll give us a call and tell us to begin the operation. If you're patient enough to wait for it, great. If you're not, then the collaboration is off."
The Nidhogg was a rival of the Dark Knights to begin with. So, he hated and despised them in the first place. After all, they were too cunning for his taste.
He heard they were just looking out for themselves and disregarded Bonnie's safety. They kept nagging and urging for an update, which infuriated him. Naturally, he sounded harsh when he talked to them.
Realizing Collin was speaking rather aggressively, Floyd couldn't help but frown. However, he didn't say anything about it. Instead, he responded to Collin according to Ivor's orders.
"I'm sorry about it. My leader is facing some emergencies and needs to handle other issues. That's why we've been pressing you guys for an update. "We shouldn't have put the pressure on you guys. I'm sorry. Rest assured, though. It won't happen again. We won't urge you for an update anymore. We'll wait for your leader's news and begin the operation when he gives the word."
Collin saw they offered sincere apologies and began speaking gentler, "Mhm. I'm glad you guys understand. It's dangerous enough for my chief to infiltrate Billy's organization. It's seriously not cool for you guys to keep pushing for an update.
"Although your leader has signed an agreement with mine, we don't owe you guys anything. Let's aim for mutual understanding instead." "Okay." Floyd responded dryly, "Loud and clear."
"If that's the case, I'll hang up now. You will be the first to know when my chief sends me word. Then we'll execute the operation together." Collin said and hung up the phone.
Floyd heard the beeping from the other end of the phone, and his lips couldn't help but twitch in response.
"Collin has a nasty temper."
Ivor wasn't bothered in the least. "We're the ones who overstepped our bounds in the first place. It's only normal that he treats us as such."
"I guess you have a point." Floyd agreed with Ivor. He recalled what Ivor said previously and couldn't help but say,
"With that said, Collin has such a nasty temper. He's a far cry from Allen, who stuttered when he spoke on the phone. I think it's probably a coincidence. Judging by this fact alone, it's doubtful they're the same person."
Ivor thought about it carefully and found that Floyd made a sound argument. However, he retained a certain level of suspicion in his heart nheless.
"Nothing's set in stone. Let's wait and see what happens."
Floyd nodded slightly. "Loud and clear."
"Okay." Ivor responded faintly, "Judging by how the Nidhoggs responded, it will be a while before we can return. Meanwhile, let's keep ourselves busy and look at the market overseas. We'll see if any collaborations or projects are worth investing in."
Chapter 1208
"Didn't you say you want to take this window and visit Ms. Bonnie at Pyralis, Mr. Ivor? Aren't you going to do that now?" Floyd's tone was laced with bewilderment.
'A couple of days ago, Ivor planned to fly back to Pyralis. I didn't think he'd have a change of heart right now.'
"Mm-hmm." Ivor responded dryly, "You saw how the Nidhogg is. I'm aware that they didn't want to let us join their operation in the first place. If I leave without a good reason and hang them out to dry, they might refuse to lend their chip to us. That's why I can't leave Yale. All I could do is wait here."
'As Yasmine said, we've spent a long time on the Nidhoggs. We're just after the chip. We'd have wasted our efforts if I returned to Pyralis at this critical juncture and missed the chance.
'I have to give it to Yasmine. She has a keen mind when it comes to these things.'
"I guess you're right," Floyd said, pulling out his phone to search the Inte.
"I'm going to check if some companies or projects are around us worth investing in. Perhaps we could earn back the one billion and six hundred million dollars while the leader of the Nidhogg infiltrates Billy's organization."
Ivor gave him a sidelong glance, exasperated. "Do you think it's that easy to make money?"
Floyd responded with a chuckle and said, "I know it's not that easy, but you're outstanding when it comes to business, Mr. Ivor. I have every confidence that you can make it happen. With that said, we're not in a hurry. So, let's start small and earn a hundred and thirty-seven million dollars, for starters!"Chapter
Ivor smiled wordlessly and didn't say anything.
'Actually, I was just being humble just now. The target that Floyd set is a piece of cake for me. Earning a hundred and thirty-seven million dollars is easy with an excellent opportunity.
'However, striking up business deals isn't important to me right now. What matters now is wrapping up the job about the chip as soon as possible and getting back to Bonnie's side. I'm just killing time by looking up some business opportunities.'
Before long, Floyd found a project that was worth investing in. "Take a look at this, Mr. Ivor. What do you think about it?"
Ivor followed his gaze and said, "Not bad. We could invest some fifty million dollars to test it out."
"At once, Mr. Ivor." Floyd looked all pumped up, excited that he finally had some work to do.
Ivor saw it and couldn't help but
remind him, "Although I gave you the
orders to do this, you have to
remember that this is not our priority. There's no need to invest too much effort in this.
see
"What matters more is the Nidhoggs. Remember, keep track of their activities. The moment you them moving, bring our men and follow them."
"Alright, Mr. Ivor. Loud and clear." Floyd responded immediately.
Ivor tore his gaze away from his assistant and stared into the distance, his eyes gleaming inexplicably.
"I hope everything will go smoothly

emergency. I want to go back. Pyratis and be with Bonnie. I don't intend to wait any longer."
Floyd said, "I'm sure everything will go without a hitch."
On the other side, when Francesco knocked on her door, Bonnie had just finished preparing.
"Knock knock knock!"
Clearing her throat, she faced the door and asked, "What is it?"
He responded respectfully, "The kitchen has finished making dinner. Mr. Billy sent me here to tell you to go over."
"Alright." She responded calmly and fished a pill out of her pocket before popping it into her mouth.
Chapter 1209
It was an antidote. It'd neutralize most toxins once she had ingested it.
Moreover, Bonnie was impervious to any poison. So, it didn't matter what sort of poison or hallucinogenic drugs Billy might put in the food. None of them would work on her.
'I have to be able to identify the kind of drug he might put in my food. Given my extensive medical knowledge, it's child's play for me to identify any drug.Chapter
'Aside from that, I have to pretend to be under the effects of the drug at the right time. Otherwise, I might rouse his suspicion.'
At the thought, Bonnie checked everything she was bringing with her again. Once she was sure everything checked out, she extended her and opened the door.
Looking at Francesco, who was waiting outside, she said dryly, "Let's move."
"You got it." He conscientiously walked in front of her and led her down the hallway, introducing the dinner menu.
"Mr. Billy has gone all out for tonight's dinner. You're eating birds and seafood! I've served him for a long time, but this is the first time I've seen him prepare such a grand dinner for someone!
"It's clear that he values you a lot. You have to make sure you don't disappoint him."
Billy had taught Francesco what to say to feel Bonnie out. He monitored her expression as he spoke, eager to discover what she made of his words.
'Will Barrett swear his loyalty to Billy, or will he leave after he's earned his money? I have to feel him out. It's an important step. After all, tonight's dinner isn't just a gathering. Instead, it's a decisive moment of Barrett's fate in our organization. Will he be able to stay here? Or will he have to leave?'
Bonnie turned her head sideways and glanced at Francesco. Her lips curled before she pretended to speak gratefully,
"I'm grateful that Billy gave me his stamp of approval. I wish to stay by Billy's Side and work for him if khave such a chance in the future so I may repay him for his kindness."
"You know how to be grateful. I didn't know that. Mr. Billy will be delighted to hear what you just said." There was a faint, red glow in Francesco's pocket as he spoke.
It was a small listener that Billy asked Francesco to wear when he sent him to feel Bonnie out. That way, he'd be able to hear everything she said.
His chest swelled with joy when he heard that. Then, he laughed heartily in the room. "Hahaha! I knew it.
Barrett is someone worth grooming! iss
It looks like I bet on the right horse! I can count on putting him in an
important position.
"This is great... Nay, fantastic! I'm one step closer to realizing my dream with such a genius by my side. I'm going to rule over the international organizations someday."
Another henchman stood beside him, heard his leader's words, and laughed.
"What a wonderful news, Mr. Billy. With Barrett's help, I think I can just see the moment of your dream coming to fruition."
"Hahaha!" Billy laughed again. "Not bad. Barrett is truly a fine addition to our ranks."
With that, he stood up and walked toward the door.
"I'm guessing he's about to reach the private room. I'm going to wait for him outside. Once he passes my test tonight, I will promote him and put him in an important position!"
'I have every faith in Barrett that he will pass my test! I've even considered utilizing his talents to maximize his value.'
Bonnie wasn't aware of Billy's
thoughts. She followed Francesco and stopped at the door to the private room. She started having bad feelings when she saw the gloves a couple of bodyguards were wearing.
Then, she frowned, looked at Francesco, and asked, "What's the matter? I'm just here for the dinner. Is it necessary to frisk me?"
Chapter 1210
Francesco could sense just how frightening the coldness emanating from Bonnie was. It was as if her aura could freeze up anyone, anytime. He had sensed her intimidating aura last time. Now, he was sensing her fearsome aura all over again.
'His demeanor is very different from the backstory he told us. However, Billy just won't believe what I said...'
Realizing that Francesco wasn't saying anything for a long time, Bonnie couldn't help but feel impatient. "You still have yet to answer me. Do they have to frisk me?"
Her voice was laced with such coldness that he couldn't help but shudder. At the same time, he came back to his senses.
"That's right, Barrett. Mr. Billy demands it be done."
"Mm-hmm." She responded dryly with a calm tone. "I got it."
Francesco noticed her irritated expression and worried that Billy might think he was the one who ticked her off. So, he explained,
"They're going to frisk you, but you don't have to overthink it. Mr. Billy is aware that you hate to be touched. So, they will scan you with a device instead of touching you. There's nothing to be worried about."Chapter
She couldn't help but raise her delicate eyebrow.
'I didn't count on him remembering that I hate to be touched, much less taking action about it. It looks like Billy cherishes my skills more than I've imagined.'
"Gotcha. I appreciate that Billy made this arrangement."
"Yeah. Mr. Billy values you a lot. No one has had this sort of special treatment." Francesco said before gesturing for her to step forward. Bonnie nodded and walked ahead. Once she reached the door, the bodyguards guarding the door fetched the device and scanned her. The first bodyguard's device didn't have any reaction.
Sitting inside the private room, Billy couldn't resist rubbing his chin and smiled pleasingly.
"Very good. It looks like Barrett is quite well-behaved. He didn't let me down at all."
At the next moment, however, he heard a beeping sound. His face fell as he followed the sound and turned his gaze.
The first bodyguard's device didn't sound when Bonnie walked past him. However, the second bodyguard's device sounded off when she passed by.
The red light on the device came on
and made a shrill beeping sound telling everyone that there was something out of the ordinary with Bonnie. Indeed, she brought some sharp weapons with her.
Realizing what was happening, Billy's face grew grimmer by the second. In the blink of an eye, his face was brimming with coldness.
'I can't believe I placed that much
faith in Barrett and had high hopes for him. He slapped me in the face in a matter of a second. How am I supposed to retain my pride now?'
е
The longer he thought about it, the angrier he got. Then, he couldn't sit there anymore. Shooting up from his seat he stormed over to Bonnie, wearing a stern expression.
"What's happening here?"
Bonnie, too, didn't count on this happening. She had walked through the first bodyguard's device just fine. To her surprise, the second bodyguard's device caught her.
'Based on what happened, the first bodyguard's device is probably used for scanning some obvious, dangerous stuff.
'The second bodyguard's device must've been upgraded and can detect what the first device couldn't.'
