Chapter 551

"You motherfucker, you dared to do this?!" Another punch landed on my face accompanied by an enraged growl, and I toppled over as the chair I was sitting in was forcefully flipped.

"No!" Blair cried out, rushing to intervene and prevent Zander from inflicting further harm.

"Leave me, Blair!" he snapped, glaring at his sister.

"Zander, please, listen to me first," she pleaded desperately, refusing to release her grip on her brother's hand. Despite his anger, Zander wasn't forcefully pushing her away, aware she might get hurt.

Zander trembled in fury, snarling, "You fucking bastard. I considered you my best friend. I trusted you as my Beta, and you tried to hit on my sister."

"No, Zander, you've misunderstood," Blair squealed as he pulled his hand away from her grip and lunged at me. "Zander, please, listen to me," she begged.

"Let him be, Blair. Today, I've discovered how much my supposed best friend trusted me," I said in a mocking tone, observing Zander's clenched jaw. Just as he was about to throw another punch, Selena's voice intervened. "Stop, Zander. He is Blair's mate," Selena yelled.

"What?!"

"What?!"

Zander and I exclaimed simultaneously.

She knew?!

Then I realized Selena was always so close to Blair because Blair trusted her, and Selena had proven I numerous times, such as now, when she had hidden it even from her alpha mate.

"So, you already knew?!" Zander gritted out in fury, glaring at his beloved. "Again!" he snarled, and Selena flinched. "Again, you break my trust by hiding this. When will you stop doing it?! Then you want me to trust you, Selena! How?!" He lashed out at his mate. "Zander, please, listen to me," Selena said, but Zander held up a hand, staring at her with a warning expression. "Save it, Selena," he scowled.

Selena and Blair exchanged a nervous glance before Blair spoke up, "Zander, I was trying to tell you this the whole time while you were beating my mate, but you didn't hear me once," Blair complained.

"FUCK!!!" Zander cursed, wiping a hand over his face as he exhaled loudly.

Then, he abruptly turned towards me, glaring. "So, you knew it from the beginning that Blair was your mate and yet you chose Emile as your mate," he drawled dangerously.

I lowered my head in guilt; he was speaking the truth. I knowingly chose Emile as my mate, and now I was facing the consequences. The Moon Goddess had punished me for not valuing my mate and the sacred mate bond.

"Tell me, you fucker!" Zander shouted. "You rejected my sister and mated with Emile?!"

I shook my head frantically, choking on my words. "No! I didn't reject Blair."

"What?!" he exclaimed as his eyes widened, looking at me in disbelief. "I can't believe you cheated on both Emile and Blair," he spat out in disgust. "No doubt Emile betrayed. It might be her way of seeking revenge."

"Stop it, Zander! Just stop it!" I growled in defiance. "I didn't cheat on anyone. I was loyal to Emile when I was with her, and Blair didn't know about me being her mate, so she didn't feel any pain of betrayal because the bond was not complete," I reasoned. "Okay, I got it," he snorted. "So after Emile betrayed you, you sought solace in Blair."

"Hell, no. I can't do this to her. I was actually planning to reject her because she deserved a better mate than me," I stated fiercely, shaking my head.

I could never think of treating my

mate this way, I cared deeply for her, which is why intended to reject her. It was good that she never once attempted to seduce me. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to distance myself from her. Whether it's the mate bond or mère desire, I couldn't deny the strong pull I always felt towards her. That was precisely why I chose to keep my distance; I somehow knew she was my ultimate destination.

No, I never regretted a single moment spent with her. However, witnessing Zander's reaction made me feel both regretful and guilty.

"So, you believed it was fair to take advantage of her before rejecting her, is that it?!" He grimaced, and I cringed in response.

"No, Zander," I snapped, but then I hesitated as I realized the weight of my words. I turned to look at Blair and found myself speechless. Her face betrayed pure pain, her eyes reflecting a fear of rejection. She had expressed her feelings for me numerous times. What was I going to do to her? "You desired her as well, Maddox," Micah's voice echoed in my head. "I desired my mate. Confess to her and accept her. We need her."

"Z... Zander, please, stop demeaning him. It's not his fault. I was the one pursuing him. But if he believes I'm not worthy to be his mate, I accept his decision. He... he didn't do anything to me; I approached him," she hiccuped, a tear slipping from her innocent eyes. Micah snarled in defiance within my mind, fighting to take control of my body, to make me regret even considering rejecting our mate and causing her pain.

"I'm no match for him, and he deserves a woman better suited to be his mate. It's okay if he... if he doesn't want me," she sobbed as more silent tears streamed down her cheeks. Collapsing to her knees, she buried her face in her hands.

"Hell, no!" I growled. "That's not true,

princess," I said as I knelt before her, gently removing her hands from her tear-streaked face. I cupped her pretty face in my large hands as I

peered deeply into her wet eye net

"Who Said I don't want you? I want you like I've never wanted anyone else. You have no idea how hard it's been for me to keep my distance from you," I confessed and didn't

care if Zander killed me later. "You...

you're lying," her voice broke

between sobs.

"Then why do you think I've avoided touching you or making eye contact with you all this time? Trust me, princess, when I say I've never wanted anyone else but you. But l felt helpless. You were always like a kid to me, and desiring you seemed so wrong on many levels. But now that I know how deeply you love me, I can't be foolish enough not to confess my feelings and let you slip away," I said, pulling her into my

embrace. She buried her head in my chest, breaking down in tears.

"Will you give me a chance to prove that I'm good enough to be your mate, princess?" I pleaded, biting my lip and gazing at her with desperation.

She lifted her head, her expression appearing puzzled.

"And if you refuse, I'll keep begging you, my mate. I'll continue pleading until..." I couldn't finish my sentence as she silenced me with a scorching kiss. My entire world brightened when I locked eyes with her glowing gaze, seeing nothing but love for me.

Chapter 552

"I won't approve of it!" Zander's voice echoed in the surroundings. "Just because you now need a mate, you turn to my sister. Otherwise, you were going to reject her. She is not your toy, Maddox," he drawled in a dangerous tone. "You might be my best friend and the best warrior in my pack, my Beta, but none of these qualities can allow you to be worthy of being my sister's mate. Not after what you've done to her in the past," his tone turned threatening.

"Zander, it's about Blair and Maddox. Let her decide what she wants," I pleaded as I looked into his eyes, but all I saw was anger as he glared at me.

"Selena, stay out of this matter," he gritted out, clenching his jaw, making me wince.

So he was still angry with me, and I did not know what I should do to make him believe that I did not lie to him intentionally.

"Zander," Blaire spoke, "I have been in love with my mate throughout my life, even when I thought I could hate him or move on. But I was still in love with him the whole time," Blaire confessed, getting up on her feet and walking to her brother. "And I realized that I could never stop loving him when I saw him in pain, and it hurt me even more."

She turned and looked at Maddox, who was also watching her with curiosity.

"Trust me, Zander, Maddox never forced me to accept him, not even came to me after his breakup. But it was me who pursued him because I cannot see him in pain," she whispered, appealing to her brother for understanding.

Zander was silent for a long moment, staring at Blair and Maddox. Then he exhaled loudly and spoke with a frown, "Are you sure that you want to be with him?"

"Yes, Zander. I am very much sure," Blair nodded, a soft smile stretching across her lips. "The Moon Goddess has gifted me the most precious person in my life. I am not going to make the same mistake and let him go away," she said with deep meaning as she glanced intensely at Zander. "Big brother, always remember there is never a time too late to forgive someone just to keep the person you love in your life. It's your choice to live in pain with your ego or to compromise and live happily with your mate."

She said something worth a million dollars, and she was absolutely right. That was why I was ready to do anything and put forth my best effort to convince Zander that I was worth a second chance.

Zander seemed blank, staring at his sister. He was literally zoned out.

"Zander! Zander!" I called out, and then he snapped out of his trance, turning his head toward me and locking eyes. I could feel my effect on him, just as he had an effect on me. I still felt a spark from his touch, setting my body on fire, and I knew no one else could make me feel this way. Only him!

I gestured toward Blair, reminding him silently as he seemed lost once again, gazing into my eyes.

"Is that what you want?" Zander asked his sister once again, and Blair nodded. "Very well, then. I am going to announce the mating and marking ceremony for you and Maddox," he declared, shifting his gaze to his Beta. "You better behave this time and don't try to break my sister's heart. Otherwise, you know no one can save you from my wrath," he threatened in his dangerous tone.

Maddox nodded solemnly, his expression turning serious as he vowed, "I promise I won't give you a reason to come after me," he assured.

"I have also learned from my mistake, and I am never going to hurt my mate," Maddox said, looking at Blair with eyes filled with love.

"Alright," Zander sighed. "Now everyone, leave the pack office and go to your SEPARATE rooms," Zander emphasized 'separate' intentionally, and I knew why.

From the disheveled look of Maddox's hair and Blair's ruined makeup, it was clear what they were doing here in this room that enraged Zander so much.

Maddox took Blair's hand in his, holding it possessively before they departed together. I felt immense joy for Blair today because I knew how much she had yearned for her mate, and now she was with the only man she had always wanted to be with throughout her life.

I sighed and began to leave.

But before I could take another step, a powerful hand grabbed my arm and pulled me back. I gasped as I collided with the rock-hard body of my mate.

"Zander?!" I was confused because the eyes that had looked at me angrily a few minutes ago were now filled with so many mixed emotions.

"Selena, I can't let you go," he finally spoke, exhaling in exhaustion. I continued to gaze at him, puzzled. What had suddenly changed his mind and heart? Maybe Blair's words had struck the right chord.

"I know how much I suffered during those years when you weren't with me, and now that I have you back, I refuse to ruin everything because of mistakes we both made in the past," he said, regret evident in his eyes and voice.

I felt relieved to hear that he had finally accepted his mistake.

"I don't want to leave either, Zander. I want to spend my whole life in your arms. I want to give our relationship a chance, but my only fear is..." I bit my lip as insecurity once again surfaced in my heart. I lowered my head, unable to voice out my fear.

"What happened, baby?" Zander asked, holding my chin and lifting my head so our eyes could meet.

"Zander," I hesitated, but he

encouraged me, nodding firmly. "My... my only fear is what if... what if you find your true mate someday?! What will happen to us then, and what will be my position in your life?" I asked him the same question as I did when I first met him.

Zander's lips parted, and I braced myself to hear the same answer from him.

"If you are insecure because of my mate bond, I will end this today," he declared with determination shining through his eyes.

"W... What?!" I gasped. He couldn't be serious?!

"Yes!" He nodded slowly and firmly. "I will go to the Moon Goddess temple and ask to block my mate's bond, so I will never get a mate, not even in the few months left of my life."

"Zander?!" My eyes widened as I processed the meaning of his words.

What did he mean by having only a few months left of his life?!

Chapter 553

Let The Story Begin *Avery*

"Why are we heading to the Vampire Kingdom, Father? You know this will draw a lot of attention," I questioned my father, but he remained silent. The car glided smoothly along the road while he continued to gaze out of the window. His expression remained unreadable. "Father, you're taking an enormous risk. We can't afford to attract undue attention to him, you know that," I warned him.

"Shut up, Avery," he sharply scolded, making me wince. "After spoiling my plan, you still have the audacity to complain," he spat with disgust, though his focus remained outside, his anger palpable. "What did I do, Father?" I asked, my tone tinged with defiance.

"Really, Avery?! Do you not know what you have done?! I gave you enough time to seduce Zander and make him fall in love with you, but you were unable to do this. Not only this, you were unable to eliminate Selena from your way. Now she is back in Zander's life, and my dream of becoming the king of the Werewolves will only remain a dream, unfulfilled because of you!" He shouted at me so loudly and vehemently that even the chauffeur glanced at us.

"What?! Focus on the road," I snapped at the stupid shifter.

"How can you say that, Father?" I protested in a soft tone. I knew my father had a very bad temper. "I tried everything, and if you are forgetting, Zander was my love. Because of your foolish strategy, I lost him," I grimaced, remembering how abruptly Zander had told me I should leave right then.

"Do you think I will believe your nonsense? I know how much you love him," Father taunted rudely. "You were only with him for power, aiming to become the queen of the Werewolves. After you messed up everything, now only Damon can help me get what I want," he mumbled.

"Damon?!" I frowned. "But how?"

"That's why we are going to see him because he has a proposal for us," Father informed me, and for the first time, I saw a small smile appear on his face.

Interesting.

On one hand, the new Vampire King pretended to be friends with Zander and Selena, while here, on the contrary, he offered to help us take them down. This game was becoming more intriguing.

As soon as the car entered the Vampire Kingdom, we were escorted by two guards to the Vampire castle. A vast gate opened, and another Vampire guard led us inside the castle, where Damon awaited us in a castle chamber. "Welcome, Elijah and Avery!" Damon greeted with an expressionless face.

"Damon!" Father greeted the new Vampire King with a warm smile. "Tell us, why did you call us here urgently?"

"As I mentioned, I have a good proposal for you that will be beneficial," he explained, rising from his chair and walking toward us.

"What proposal do you have that is beneficial for us?" Father asked, casting a skeptical glance at Damon. Damon gazed at us intently, creating a moment of anticipation as we waited for him to speak.

However, Damon did not reply. Instead, he turned away and ordered, "Follow me."

Father and I exchanged suspicious glances, but we had no choice but to follow him to discover what he actually wanted from us.

He led us deeper into his castle. As he strode through the dark gallery, all the wall lamps lit up with a flick of his finger in the air. I had only heard that vampires knew magic, but now I was experiencing it live for the first

time, and it was mesmerizing.

We continued onward through what felt like an endless gallery until we finally spotted a large door. It swung open at Damon's gesture, without him even touching it.

Damon led the way inside,

motioning for us to follow him into the room. As we entered the large chamber darkness enveloped us until the lamps suddenly illuminated, casting a majestic glow. In the dim yellow light, a large portrait stood before us, gleaming.

The image before us left us speechless.

"Selena!" I gasped. Although the woman depicted in the portrait bore a striking resemblance to Selena, the painting appeared significantly very old, and the lady in the painting was dressed in an ancient fashion, My father glanced at me, equally puzzled by what he saw

"She is not Selena," Damon finally broke the silence, adding to our confusion.

"But she does look like Selena," I argued, gesturing with my hand. Damon glared at me before he walked closer to the painting. Tilting his head, he gazed intently at the portrait as if it were a living woman.

"She is Arabella!" He declared and his eyes fixed on the painting.

"Arabella?!" I furrowed my brow. "Do you think we're fools? She is Selena, and I am damn sure of it." I rolled my eyes.

"Shut up, you foolish woman," Damon bellowed furiously, baring his teeth, and his two sharp vampire canines showed up. I took a step back in fear. What had suddenly angered him so much? Father looked annoyed as he motioned for me to keep my mouth shut. "So, you mean this woman in the picture is not Selena but Arabella?" Father inquired calmly.

Damon stared at my father again, but as he turned to look at the picture. His eyes softened as they glowed in the soft, dim light.

"Selena was Arabella, and Arabella is now Selena," Damon whispered.

Agh! It was so confusing.

Father and I exchanged a glance because what he was saying didn't make any sense.

"Please enlighten us," I implored with my most stunning smile.

Damon glanced at me with his piercing, icy blue eyes that shone when he spoke. "It all started thousands of years ago when witches and warlocks used to rule Earth, and other shifters were minorities, obeying and submitting before the Warlock King." He turned to face us as he continued, "The story began when the Warlock King, Zephyr Blackthorn, met a beautiful wolf princess: Arabella."

Chapter 554

Once upon a time, in a world where supernatural beings coexisted with humans, Warlocks and Witches held dominion due to their superior powers.

Residing in this realm was the remarkably beautiful werewolf princess, Arabella, whose father led a small pack as an Alpha. The news of her extraordinary beauty had spread far and wide across the world.

Just a month after her 18th birthday, numerous marriage proposals began pouring in from distant lands. Yet, like any caring father, Arabella's father sought the most suitable match for her and declined each proposal that arrived. "Arabella, quickly get ready. You have to leave for the mating ball," her mother urged, entering the room with urgency. Arabella, lost in her thoughts while seated near the window, snapped out of her reverie as her mother approached. "Why, Mother?" Arabella inquired, seeking an explanation.

"Because your father wanted you to go there," her mother replied.

"Mother, I am tired of meeting people. They ultimately get rejected by Father," Arabella complained.

"He is doing everything for your sake and good future. He and I love you, princess," her mother reasoned.

"I know, Mother, and that's why I don't want to go anywhere leaving you and Father," Arabella said, pouting as she hugged her mother from the side.

"Silly girl," her mother chuckled, kissing Arabella's forehead before placing the dress beside her. "Now quickly just get ready," her mother instructed, not waiting for her reply as she left the room.

Arabella glanced at the dress. It was a peach-colored, long lace gown. She trailed her hand along the delicate fabric, feeling its texture. She liked it. Taking it, she made her way to the bathroom. After a quick shower, she changed into the clothing and wore the gown. Stepping out of the bathroom, she approached her vanity table, sitting on a stool. As she looked into the mirror, she was mesmerized by her reflection. The gown fit her perfectly, embracing her every curve and making her appear more feminine and mature than her age. Arabella was deep in her own contemplation. Tonight, she was expected to choose a mate, yet an unexplained restlessness tugged at her heart. In those times, among shifters, the selection of a mate was intrinsically tied to their prowess. For a female with numerous suitors vying for her, the males would engage in challenges, where the mightiest among them could lay claim to her hand.

The concept of true mates existed solely in ancient tales, a notion merely spoken of in folklore and never substantiated by actual events. Among the Werewolves, the prevailing belief was that true mates were nothing more than fictional narratives, a figment of imagination never realized in reality.

The subject of true mates remained

shrouded in mystery, even when inquired of the moon goddess herself. Instead of offering clarity, she responded with enigmatic smiles, perpetuating the confusion among the Werewolves. Yet, the very idea of having a true mate intrigued Arabella profoundly. Legends suggested that these unions were predestined by the moon goddess herself, forging an unbreakable bond between two souls. Even after death, they remained inseparable, destined to

be reborn repeatedly, eternally

seeking their mate in each new life.

"Bella, you're not ready yet? You know the Alpha will be furious if he finds out you're late for the mating ball," scolded Gina, Arabella's closest friend and the daughter of her father's Beta, as she strode into Arabella's chamber and discovered her lost in contemplation. "Gina!" Arabella exclaimed, her hand flying to her chest in surprise, her wide eyes meeting her best friend's. "Oh Goddess, you startled me!"

Gina merely rolled her eyes in response. "Miss Drama Queen, if you're finished with your theatrics, can we proceed downstairs?" Crossing her arms, Gina narrowed her eyes at Arabella.

Seeing Gina's expression, Arabella smiled and gestured toward her hair. Strands of her silky blonde locks were still unstyled, framing her face in a gentle cascade.

With an exasperated sigh, Gina took a hair comb and began to assist Arabella in setting her hair. She carefully pinned up Arabella's golden locks on one side, leaving some strands to cascade freely, creating an elegant yet carefree hairstyle.

As Gina delicately applied the faintest touch of makeup to Arabella's already exquisite features, the natural beauty of the princess shone through effortlessly. Her radiant aura scarcely required enhancement.

Once Arabella was prepared, she and Gina made their way down the ornate hall where Alpha Ralph and Luna Darcy stood in anticipation. A sense of importance lingered in the air, palpable in every stride as they approached the waiting couple.

"I've made arrangements for both of you to attend the Mating ball," Alpha Ralph disclosed, his voice carrying the weight of responsibility.

The rules were clear - parents were forbidden from attending the ball, ensuring everyone had the freedom to make their own choices without familial interference. The event was exclusive, reserved for the elite royal families from the mightiest packs. "Father, where exactly are we headed?" Arabella's curiosity blossomed, her voice laced with intrigue and uncertainty.

"This year, the Mating ball is hosted

by none other than the Warlock King, Zephyr Blackthorn," Alpha Ralph revealed with a measured tone. "He's earnestly seeking his Queen, and this ball presents an

opportunity. Show your beel.

behavior and charm the King.

Should he choose you as his mate, you would ascend as the Queen, wielding unprecedented power over the realm."

Arabella let out a heavy sigh, her apprehension palpable as she contemplated the daunting prospect of conversing with the Warlock Rumors had painted him as an- intimidating figure, known for his cruelty and immense power amplifying Arabella's already

mounting nervousness at the idea of

initiating contact.

Feeling her friend's unease, Gina tenderly grasped Arabella's hand, offering a reassuring squeeze in an attempt to alleviate her worries. Gina was accompanying Arabella in hope to find a mate for herself as well.

Soon, the girls settled into a horse-drawn cart. Their anticipation and nervousness evident as they embarked on their journey toward the grandeur of the mating ball. The rhythmic clip-clop of hooves against the cobblestones echoed their mixed emotions as they made their

Chapter 555

As the radiant moon cast its luminous glow upon the cobblestone pathway leading to the grand palace, Princess Arabella arrived in a carriage adorned with cascading roses and gilded accents. The carriage, drawn by majestic steeds, moved gracefully, the gentle clip-clop "Bella! Stop fidgeting with your fingers," Gina chastised her friend gently, a playful edge to her voice. "You're making me nervous too."

of their hooves resonating in the crisp night air.

"I can't help it, Gina. I don't know why my heart is so restless," Arabella confessed in a hushed tone, her hand instinctively finding its place over her fluttering heart.

"Don't worry! King Zephyr is going to choose you as his mate at first glance. You'll see," Gina reassured her.

"And you're going to find a handsome mate too," Arabella teased, a playful grin touching her lips. The air between them was filled with a shared sense of excitement and anticipation as they indulged in whimsical chatter, weaving dreams of their future.

Their carriage had traversed through verdant landscapes, winding paths bordered by flourishing gardens adorned with exotic blooms. As the splendor of the palace came into view, its grandeur enough to steal one's breath away.

"The palace is magnificent," Arabella gasped softly, her gaze enraptured by the meticulously manicured lawns and vibrant flora that lined the pathway leading to the grand foyer.

"King Zephyr is certainly quite affluent," Gina commented, peering out the window of the carriage, taking in the lavishness that surrounded them.

With a graceful halt, the carriage came to a stop, and the royal guard swiftly moved to assist the princess and her friend. As they stepped onto the cobblestone path, the air carried the heady scent of night-blooming flowers, and the palace gates swung open, revealing a panorama of opulence and enchantment that surpassed their wildest imaginings.

Awestruck, Arabella and Gina were led by the royal guard toward the illuminated ballroom.

The resplendent ballroom shimmered with a thousand candlelit chandeliers, their golden glow dancing upon the marble floors like stars captured beneath the celestial firmament.

In the midst of the opulent ballroom, a gathering of male and female shifters adorned in their most splendid attire mingled, their gazes filled with anticipation and yearning as they sought their destined mates. The air crackled with excitement, each shifter hoping to find that elusive connection amidst the revelry.

As Princess Arabella made her entrance, a hushed wave swept through the crowd, every eye turning towards her like petals seeking the sun's embrace. Suitors approached with eager intent, yet she remained aloof, her attention distant and unyielding. With a subtle gesture, Gina was whisked away by a persistent male, leaving Arabella secluded in a quiet corner.

Taking a glass of juice, Arabella feigned engagement, her thoughts veering away until the mention of a name caught her ear like a whisper in the wind. The mention of the infamous Alpha Alexander stirred a ripple of intrigue within her, drawing her focus sharply to the conversation unfolding nearby.

"I heard Alpha Alexander was also going to attend the mating ball tonight," murmured one of the females, the words hanging in the air like a tantalizing secret.

Arabella's curiosity surged, her attention now wholly ensnared by the conversation. She leaned in, eager for more information.

"Yes, I thought so too, but now he's not coming," another voice sighed with palpable disappointment, a hint of longing coloring her tone.

The mention of the Alpha's absence puzzled Arabella, the threads of gossip pulling her deeper into the intrigue.

"But why?" she heard herself inquire, her voice barely above a whisper.

"He is King Zephyr's stepbrother, and they had a feud that led to him not attending the ball tonight," explained another female.

"That's so sad," every other female sighed with a sad expression.

Arabella had heard whispers about Alpha Alexander's allure-resembling a Greek god, a favorite among females. She dismissed the notion shaking her head at the image of him as a notorious womanizer Unbeknownst to her, there was someone else in the room, a silent observer who had been watching her every move for quite some time.

As the room filled with pairs heading towards designated mating rooms, Arabella found herself alone, a tinge of boredom lingering in the air. Unnoticed, a figure approached, moving slowly through the crowd until he reached Arabella's side. His presence was commanding, and when he stopped near her seat, the very air seemed to change.

A resonant voice broke the silence, echoing through the still air. "Princess Arabella!" The sound drew her gaze upward, and she met the eyes of a man who exuded an aura of majesty and grandeur. Handsome and possessing a stature akin royalty, he halted near her seat.

Startled, Arabella rose from her place, gently setting aside her glass of juice upon the table.

"Yes," she replied, her voice soft and melodic, tinged with surprise.

"I am Zephyr Blackthorn," he introduced himself, his name falling upon her ears like a whispered enchantment.

Recognition dawned upon Arabella as her eyes widened in realization-an epiphany that the imposing figure before her was none other than the enigmatic Warlock King himself. "His Highness!" she bowed slightly, paying respect in her nervousness.

"Princess, you don't have to offer formal greetings," Zephyr smirked, his hungry gaze trailing over Arabella. "I have chosen you as my mate. You can call me Zephyr."

Arabella felt as though her heart had stopped beating. The Warlock King had chosen her. But why didn't she feel excitement? All she felt was fear.

Lowering her eyes, she whispered, "Thank you, King Zephyr."

"So, you accepted my proposal?" He asked, seeking confirmation.

She nodded shyly. After all, it was her father's wish. She trusted her father's judgment to choose the best groom for her. Thus, she went along with her father's decision and agreed to be the Warlock King's mate.

Zephyr took Arabella's hand and announced loudly, "I have found my mate and Queen." Everyone erupted into cheerful gasps and voices, congratulating the future Queen. Gina smiled and winked at her friend, prompting a shy smile from Arabella.

Before she could comprehend what was happening, Zephyr had already escorted her to the mating room. According to the rules, upon agreeing to be mates, they were required to consummate their relationship immediately after the declaration. Now that Arabella had agreed and Zephyr had declared her as his mate, there was no turning back.

Can you gyess?! Who Is Zephyr in present time?

Chapter 556

As soon as the door closed, Zephyr pulled Arabella into his arms, causing her to gasp. She had never been in such proximity to any male before, and it was a new and incredibly nerve-wracking experience for her. "Are you nervous?" Zephyr whispered into her ear before kissing her neck.

Arabella shivered in his arms as her hands clutched his regal robe. She nodded, becoming breathless.

"Don't be nervous, princess. I will always cherish and love you as my Queen," he declared before claiming her lips.

As if under a spell, Arabella succumbed to the passion demonstrated by Zephyr. She couldn't discern whether she was under the influence of magic or experiencing desire. Her slender arms wrapped around his neck as she wholeheartedly accepted him as her mate and King. Zephyr effortlessly shed their clothes with a snap of his fingers. He was a powerful warlock, a master of all magic.

Arabella found herself in a mystical haze as Zephyr guided her to the bed, making her lie on her back. Hovering over her, he parted her thighs, settling between her legs. Arabella cried louder as he abruptly thrust inside her, shoving his huge and thick dick in one hard thrust, breaking her hymen and burying himself deep in her. He mated with her passionately, bonding with her, and his eyes did not leave her for a second as if he found the most precious gem.

He pleasured her with his body, tongue, and finger, made love to her, and came inside her so many times, as if wanted to brand her with his essence. He acted like a caveman when he held her close and buried inside her the whole night. Despite Arabella being exhausted and passed out, he didn't leave her.

The next morning, he proclaimed their union, swiftly arranging a wedding within two days.

When Arabella questioned the haste, he ardently professed, "I love you so intensely, Arabella. I simply couldn't wait any longer to make you mine in every sense."

Arabella was happy to have found such a passionate mate.

Her father was thrilled because his daughter was going to be the Queen of the realm. Zephyr and Arabella were very happy together. After their wedding, Zephyr made sure to remind Arabella every day how much he loved her and how important she was to him. He cherished Arabella and kept her away from everyone, saying only he had the right to see her beauty and hear her lovely voice all to himself. Arabella felt fortunate that her mate loved her so deeply.

"How lucky you are to be the Queen of the mightiest king, King Zephyr," Gina admired her friend's happiness.

She visited Arabella often, as Zephyr did not permit Arabella to go anywhere without him as he was very possessive.

"We both are lucky to find a loving mate," Arabella smiled.

"True," Gina grinned. Her mate was the Beta of a small werewolf pack and the brother of that pack's Alpha.

"But I missed you, Bella," Gina sighed, looking at her friend adoringly.

"I missed you too," Arabella held Gina's hand as she accepted.

"Bella, I am bored living in the palace," Gina wrinkled her nose. Arabella's expression turned worried.

"I mean, you owe me a tour of your kingdom, Warlock Queen," Gina teased, making Arabella's face brighten with a warm smile.

However, she knew if she asked Zephyr, he would refuse her plea. He never let her go out and tour the kingdom. Sometimes she found it overbearing. But as she was taught from her childhood, she had to obey her mate and comply with his every demand and will. "I will talk to Zephyr. He will arrange a tour for you," Arabella said hesitantly.

""You won't come?!" Gina frowned. Arabella averted her eyes.

"I have much work in the palace. Maintaining a huge palace like this..." She gestured by stretching her hands apart. "...is not easy."

"I understand, Bella," Gina sighed with disappointment.

But she knew that being Queen of the largest kingdom was not simple; it came with many responsibilities.

Arabella and Gina were engaged in the conversation when suddenly Zephyr barged into the room.

"Your Highness!" Gina quickly got up, greeting him and slightly bowing.

"Gina, I need to talk to my Queen urgently," Zephyr said, sounding annoyed.

Arabella was confused about why he suddenly was annoyed. He never behaved rudely with anyone in front of Arabella.

"Of course. I was about to leave, Your Highness," Gina said, giving Arabella a faint smile before leaving.

Arabella felt sorry for her friend having to leave like this, but she knew she couldn't afford to object.

"Arabella," Zephyr took her in his arms as Gina closed the door behind her after departing.

"I need to talk to you urgently," he said, kissing her lips.

"What happened?" she asked, worriedly caressing his large face.

Zephyr was very handsome and well-built. Any woman would consider herself lucky if he had chosen them, but he chose Arabella. "My stepbrother, Alexander, is coming to visit us," he disclosed.

"I will prepare for his welcome," Arabella assured.

"No, you don't need to do anything," he snapped, and Arabella winced at his harsh tone.

He sighed, "You're very naive, Arabella. My stepbrother is a womanizer. He is unmated and hits on every female he encounters." "But I am your mate," Arabella reasoned.

"You don't understand, Arabella. He doesn't care about it and will try to get close to you. I can't bear it," scowled Zephyr.

"You don't trust me," Arabella gasped, sounding hurt.

Zephyr pulled her closer. "I trust you,

love, but don't trust Alexander. He is very charming with looks and a

для

bo makes every female fall at

his feet."

"But I am not like this," Arabella protested.

"I know, sweetheart, but please listen to me. Want you to stay confined in this room and not come out in front

of him," he demanded.

Arabella nodded, knowing her husband did not like disobedience.

"You're my life, Arabella. I can't live without you," Zephyr said as he slowly undressed her and carried her in his arms to the bed.

Arabella was surprised to see that he was very rough today as if claiming his ownership of her.

"Ah, please be gentle," she begged, but he didn't stop despite her pleas. She was tired and begged him to stop.

"I can't stop, my love. I can't help it; you are so sexy and beautiful," he clenched his teeth as he spelled each word out between hard thrusts. He fucked her as if a beast inside him had awakened.

Arabella couldn't understand why Alexander's arrival bothered him so much.

*************

I am sorry for the delay in the update. I was hospitalized and still recovering.

So, what is your theory? Why Zephyr is son worried about Alexander's arrival? Who is this alpha in the present time?

Chapter 557

Arabella found herself confined within the palace walls, restricted from venturing beyond her room whenever Alpha Alexander was present. Her freedom was tethered to his comings and goings, limited to the moments when he departed for work or meetings. The arrangement left her feeling like a captive in her own home. Amidst the vastness of the palace, she found solace only in the company of a few trusted servants and maids, who were permitted to converse with her and cater to her needs. The library became Arabella's haven, a sanctuary where the pages of books offered her an escape.

"I need the book called Knight of the Crimson Moon. Have you found it?" she inquired, her voice laced with frustration.

"I scoured the library thoroughly, my lady, but regrettably, it remains elusive," the maid responded cautiously. "If you wish, I can retrieve another book for you," she offered.

"Leave it," Arabella waved her hand dismissively. "I'll find it myself."

"Wait, my lady," the maid attempted to intervene, but Arabella pressed on without halting.

"Alpha Alexander has departed for work, which means I can finally roam around the palace," Arabella muttered to herself as she hurried toward the library. It had always been her sanctuary, a place where she found solace, yet the Alpha's presence had barred her from indulging in her love for books.

Stepping out of her room, she noticed the hushed atmosphere that enveloped the palace. Servants bustled about, engrossed in their daily tasks. Determined, she made a beeline for the library. There, she could immerse herself in the world of literature, a refuge from the constraints imposed upon her.

As Arabella entered, the librarian stood up immediately upon spotting the Queen, greeting her with the utmost respect.

"My grace," the librarian said.

Arabella nodded in response and, with her head held high, she swiftly entered the library.

"My grace, would you like some books?" inquired the librarian.

Aware of Zephyr's strict instructions to monitor her every move, Arabella felt the weight of surveillance bearing down on her, stifling her desire for freedom. Despite the opulence of her room, she yearned for the simplicity of fresh air and space beyond those luxurious walls. "What more could I possibly find in this library?" Arabella scoffed, her voice tinged with frustration, as she combed through the shelves in search of her beloved tome.

"Which book are you seeking?" pressed the librarian, a hint of urgency in their tone.

"Knight of the Crimson Moon," Arabella absentmindedly replied, her focus still fixed on scanning the racks for the elusive title.

"That book is with me," a sudden male voice pierced the air, causing Arabella to startle.

Her heart raced as she instinctively sought cover behind a nearby rack of books. The unexpected voice could mean only one thing-Alpha Alexander's presence.

But why was he here? Shouldn't he have been at the king's office, attending his conferences as usual?

Confusion clouded her mind as her thoughts jumbled, yet amidst the uncertainty, an enticing aroma wafted through the air, drawing her attention Alexander's voice held an inexplicable allure, casting an

unexpected spell over her. Arabella's wolf stirred within, reacting to an unfamiliar sensation. It was a connection she had never

experienced before. Why was she

feeling this inexplicable pull toward a

man who wasn't her husband?

"Show yourself," Alpha Alexander demanded, his voice betraying hints of urgency and breathlessness. Arabella sensed his approaching presence through the heavy, rapid footsteps drawing nearer.

"No!" she snapped, her voice carrying a tone of desperation, causing him to halt in his tracks. "Stay where you are and don't come any closer. I am King Zephyr's mate," she emphasized, her words laced with desperation. The thought of Zephyr discovering this encounter with Alexander filled her with fear of his potential anger.

"He's my stepbrother," Alexander explained, his voice strained, still trying to catch his breath as he battled for control.

Confusion clouded his mind. He had never experienced such intense feelings for any woman before, and the fact that it was directed towards his stepbrother's wife felt inherently wrong, yet it didn't feel wrong at all. The moment her sweet scent filled his senses, he found himself irresistibly drawn to her as if under an enchanting spell.

"That's precisely why it's inappropriate for you to be here when my husband is away," Arabella reasoned, her voice betraying her nervousness.

Alexander silently nodded, even though she couldn't see him. He remained silent, standing there and contemplating his next move.

"Please, just leave," Arabella pleaded, her voice trembling with uncertainty.

"Alright, I'm leaving. I'll leave the book for you on the desk," he replied hastily before swiftly exiting the library. Once outside the palace, he sprinted away, his breathing heavy as he grappled with controlling his wolf.

He couldn't fathom what might have occurred had he stayed. The tumultuous struggle within him left him conflicted, torn between conflicting desires and instincts he had never encountered before.

As Alexander's departure lifted the overpowering scent that had threatened to unravel her sanity, Arabella felt a rush of relief flood her senses. Emerging from her concealed spot behind the book rack, she cast her eyes around the room and spotted the sought-after book resting on the desk.

Approaching the desk, Arabella

reached out and instinctively

brushed her fingers over the cover

of the book, a subtle shiver running down her spine as if she could still sense the lingering presence of the forbidden male. Conflicting

ove

emotions surged within her, causing a surge of fear to grip her mind at the forbidden feelings that stirred for another man, sensations her body reacted to without her consent.

Startled by her own reactions, Arabella abruptly dropped the book, her heart pounding in her chest. Without a moment's hesitation, she fled from the library, seeking solace in the refuge of her room. Zephyr's warnings echoed in her mind. inexplicable allure that Alpha Alexander seemed to possess, the

unsettling power to enchant, was undeniable. The undeniable

enchantment in Alpha Alexander's presence seemed to bewitch females. It was best, she decided, to seclude herself in her room for as long as Alpha Alexander remained within the palace walls.

Chapter 558

"I haven't had the pleasure of meeting your newly wedded wife," Alexander remarked, his tone taking on a slightly accusatory edge. Zephyr paused from his work, setting down his quill pen to meet his stepbrother's gaze.

"And why exactly do you wish to meet my wife?" Zephyr raised an eyebrow, curious about Alexander's sudden interest.

Alexander held Zephyr's stare for a prolonged moment, trying to decipher any underlying intentions in his stepbrother's expression. "Why keep her hidden?" Alexander's frown deepened.

"Alexander!" Zephyr huffed, a flicker of annoyance crossing his features. "Are the females I provided for you to entertain you in your bed not sufficient that you now seek to meet my beloved wife?" He scoffed.

"What fack did you just say?" Alexander growled, his irritation flaring. "I was merely speaking of a formal introduction as family, and you misconstrued my intentions." His status as the Alpha King demanded respect, and he wouldn't tolerate any form of disrespect, especially not from the King of the realm.

"My wife isn't particularly keen on meeting you," Zephyr lied, his gaze drifting away from Alexander, pretending to immerse himself in his work once more, a deliberate attempt to avoid further discussion.

"Why? What the fuck have you said to her about me that she refuses to meet your own stepbrother?" Alexander snapped, his patience waning.

"Listen, brother," Zephyr sighed, setting down his quill pen for the second time and lifting his head to meet Alexander's gaze. "My wife has heard certain things about you, and she's not exactly comfortable with the idea of meeting you," he explained, a casual shrug accentuating his words. "I won't push her to do something she's not inclined to do."

Alexander remained unconvinced, sensing that Zephyr was concealing something. There was an air of secrecy that only fueled his curiosity further.

"By the way, when do you plan on returning to your pack?" Zephyr inquired with a hint of desperation evident in his voice that betrayed his eagerness to have Alexander depart.

Alexander was well aware of Zephyr's aversion toward him, but the directness of the question was striking.

"I'll be here until the preparations for the annual meet are complete, and then I'll depart," he replied firmly, not intending to prolong his stay any longer than necessary in a place where he felt unwelcome. Zephyr nodded, emitting a heavy sigh that drew a scowl from Alexander.

"If my presence here troubles you in any way, I'll relocate to the guest house," Alexander declared in his icy tone.

"No, Alexander, you're not causing any inconvenience, and you are welcome here to stay with us," Zephyr replied, though internally conflicted about insisting otherwise.

"Are you certain? I don't mind staying in the guest house," Alexander reiterated.

"No, that's fine. You can stay in the palace as long as you wish," Zephyr affirmed, attempting to diffuse the situation.

"Alright, if that's your decision," Alexander said absentmindedly, his mind preoccupied with other thoughts.

Tensions were running high in the

air, the weight of responsibility heavy on both of them. They knew they had no choice but to work alongside each other for the sake of maintaining peace among their communities. After all, Alexander's mother was married to Zephyr's father, intertwining their destinies in a way that demanded cooperation, regardless of personal feelings or conflicts.

Despite Alexander's concerted efforts to focus solely on his work, he couldn't shake the memory of his encounter with his stepbrother's wife in the library. Her voice lingered in his mind, and her alluring scent continued to stir restlessness within his wolf. Zephyr, on the other hand, was adamant about ensuring that Alexander and Arabella didn't come face to face. His insecurities regarding his Alpha stepbrother prompted him to take extra precautions.

The anticipated gathering finally

arrived-the day when all the alphas, vampire lords, and leaders of various shifter territories convened

iel

in the capital for the annual meet Discussions ensued, and new amendments were successfully added to the laws governing their realms. The proceedings unfolded smoothly, achieving the desired outcomes.

As evening descended, a charity gala was scheduled, a grand event requiring the attendance of every territorial leader. Zephyr, as the king of the realm, found himself in the position of hosting the gala

royal dinner alongside his

He

couldn't hide his wife any longer. The duties of their positions demanded their public appearance together.

"Finally, it's a pleasure to meet you, my Queen," Edward, the vampire lord, greeted the Queen as Zephyr shot him a glare.

"It's a pleasure to meet you too, Lord Edward," Arabella responded politely.

"You're exceptionally beautiful, Queen Arabella," Edward uttered in awe. "Now I understand why King Zephyr kept you hidden from everyone."

Zephyr scowled fiercely at Edward, his gaze piercing and filled with a threatening intensity that made Edward swallow hard, realizing his mistake instantly. Zephyr was exceedingly possessive of his wife, and such comments didn't sit well with him.

"By the way, where is Alpha Alexander? He seems to be absent," Edward inquired, attempting to mask his unease behind a nervous chuckle. "Is he running fashionably late as always?"

"He's fashionably late as usual," Zephyr remarked mockingly about Alexander's habitual tardiness.

"Late but present," a deep voice reverberated through the room, causing Arabella's heart to skip a beat.

"Alpha Alexander!" Edward greeted him warmly.

"Lord Edward," Alexander nodded in acknowledgment before his attention was inexplicably drawn to an alluring silhouette. A captivating scent filled the air, causing his heart to quicken its pace. Restlessness overcame him as he longed to lay eyes upon the enchantress responsible for the captivating aroma.

"Arabella, come with me," Zephyr urged, taking her hand and hastening their departure. Alexander furrowed, looking frustrated. He felt like if he let this opportunity go he couldn't see her again.

"Wait!" His voice carried a commanding tone, his aura growing more intense, compelling Arabella to obey as she abruptly turned back.

The moment their eyes met, everything around them seemed to dissolve, leaving only the two of them locked in an intense gaze, oblivious to the rest of the world.

A low growl emanated from Alexander, stirring a shocked reaction from everyone at the gala.

"Mate!!!"

Chapter 559

The guests stood frozen, enveloped in a silence so profound that even the faintest sound seemed to echo. Alexander's declaration had stunned them all. "Mate!!!"

Arabella's wolf unleashed a haunting howl, resonating with a wild fervor that echoed Alexander's proclamation. It meant only one thing.

"Fated mates..." The words drifted amid the astounded onlookers.

"The first fated mates!" A murmur rippled through the crowd.

"How... how can this be?" The disbelief in the whispered conversations was palpable.

"It's impossible!"

"She is already mated to King Zephyr!"

"It must be a mistake," echoed several voices in rapid succession.

Arabella and Alexander stood, equally shocked. Their wolves surged within, urging them to stake their claim, to mark each other before the assembled guests. But before they could act, Zephyr's commanding roar shattered the charged atmosphere. "Arabella, regain control!" His voice thundered with urgency, attempting to rein her in as she struggled against his grasp, her instincts urging her to break free and run toward her fated mate.

"You are my mate, my Queen. How can you feel this way for another male?" His voice trembled with hurt.

Arabella was speechless. She couldn't understand what was happening to her. She had never felt like this before; her wolf was agitated, and she couldn't control it.

"She is my MATE," Alexander growled fiercely, staking his claim.

"No, you're a fucking liar!" Zephyr bellowed. "She is my queen, and you're trying to steal her because that's your nature," he accused his stepbrother.

"I'm not fucking lying. It's fucking true, and it's decided by the Moon Goddess. Who the fuck are you to deny it?" Alpha Alexander bared his teeth.

The atmosphere crackled with tension as if a war were about to erupt.

The Elders of the Wolf community were present at the Gala and stepped forward in support of their Alpha king.

"King Zephyr, we understand it's agonizing for you, but if your queen is Alpha Alexander's mate, you must let her go. They are the first true mates in our history," an elder spoke.

"No, that's not true. I know Alpha King Alexander has manipulated everyone and made them believe his false story," Zephyr refused stubbornly to believe it.

"Then what about Queen Arabella? Why is she feeling the same as Alpha Alexander?" Elder countered.

"Because she is under the effect of an enchantment," Zephyr snapped furiously. "I am sure when she comes out of the spell, she won't want to be with him," he declared.

"Arabella, look at me," Zephyr demanded, forcing her to break eye contact with Alexander. "You are my queen, and you want to be with me, right?" He didn't let her speak and dragged her out of the Gala, locking her in the palace and banning Alexander from entering his kingdom.

He closed off all the way so they could not see each other.

Alpha Alexander was ready to fight for his mate, but he didn't want Arabella to get hurt in this fight. He had to know what she wanted.

So, he tried a way to send a secret message to her. He asked her to meet him once but Arabella refused.

He sent a message again and said if she didn't want to be with him he would accept her rejection and would leave forever. Arabella agreed to meet him this time because she also wanted to end this misery.

But she was conflicted. If she asked for King Zephyr's permission, he would never allow her to go and meet Alpha Alexander. But if she wanted closure, she had to meet him and reject him.

So, she secretly left the palace with the help of her loyal maid. She thought she would return before King Zephyr returned and he would never know about it.

With nervous steps and hesitation in

her heart, she went to meet Alpha Alexander. She was determined to reject him the moment she saw him, but when she actually faced him, she forgot her purpose. Her wolf whimpered again with restlessness, yearning for her mate's touch. Her heart pounded, whether from fear or excitement, she couldn't tell, but the next thing she knew, Alexander was close to her in the blink of an eye, taking her into his muscular arms.

Unknown to Arabella and Alexander, Zephyr was planning something far more dangerous.

of

In the shadows of Zephyr's abode lay his clandestine chamber, a place shrouded in darkness and mystery. The air hung heavy with the scent incense, casting a faint haze that obscured the room's edges. The chamber's walls, etched with obscure symbols and ancient runes, seemed to pulsate with an eerie,

subdued glow as if whispering

secrets of forgotten times.

At the heart of this dim space lay a ritualistic altar, crafted from obsidian stone veined with traces of iridescent minerals that glinted in the scant light. Upon the altar, a brazier blazed with flickering flames that danced and cast sinister shadows across the chamber's walls. Zephyr stood before the brazier, an enigmatic silhouette against the fiery glow. Clad in dark robes adorned with arcane symbols, he chanted in a hushed tone, invoking words spoken in an ancient language. His hands, steady yet filled with an otherworldly energy, traced intricate patterns in the air as he summoned the essence of ancient powers.

With deliberate reverence, Zephyr made his offering-an item of significance, perhaps a relic from ages past-placing it ceremoniously within the flames. He then reached for a shimmering, ornate dagger, its blade pulsating with an ethereal aura With a swift, practiced motion, he drew the blade across his palm, a luminous arc trailing in its wake. A few drops of his blood sizzled as they made contact with the searing heat of the fire, releasing an acrid scent that mingled with the incense.

As the room crackled with arcane energy, a presence began to manifest-a faint, ominous hum reverberated through the chamber. The very air seemed to quiver as the fabric between worlds thinned, heralding the imminent arrival of the warlock God, Zythorath. In that moment, the chamber brimmed with a palpable intensity, a convergence of dark energies and forbidden knowledge. Zephyr, his eyes alight with fervor and determination, stood poised to commune with the ancient deity as Zythorath, the Warlock God, appeared in the air. "What do you seek, my devoted one?" inquired Zythorath.

Zephyr bowed deeply. "Oh, Zythorath! If my devotion to your worship pleases you, grant my desires."

"Speak," commanded Zythorath.

"I wish to cast a curse so potent that it transcends life and death, an unshakable affliction," confessed Zephyr, revealing his dangerous and sinful intention.

Chapter 560

Thank you for coming," Alexander murmured, his unwavering gaze fixed upon his mate. He had called her to the furthest reaches of the forest, beyond the borders of Zephyr's kingdom. Beside them, the river flowed gently, the sun casting its final hues across the horizon,

Chapter 560 Fighting For Love heralding the impending dusk.

"I... I had to come, but please, let's talk first," Arabella whispered, her voice laced with nervousness as her hands found support upon his broad shoulders. Each touch was akin to brushing against a blaze; a forbidden heat coursed through her, delivering a sensation that brought her more pleasure than pain.

"Alright," he responded firmly, his stare unyielding upon her.

"Um, could you... please release me and maintain some distance?" Arabella attempted to squirm out of his embrace.

"Why? We can still converse like this," he rebuffed, refusing to relinquish his hold.

"But... it's wrong," she gasped, her breaths growing more labored.

"No, it isn't. You are my mate," he growled, his voice resonating with authority.

"I am bound in marriage to King Zephyr," she panted breathlessly.

"That was a mistake, and we will correct it," he asserted, his words resolute.

Arabella gasped at Alexander's fearless declaration as her wide eyes watched him with fear.

"No, we can't do this. No one will accept it, it's wrong," she protested, though the haze clouding her mind made it challenging to distinguish right from wrong.

Her thoughts were tangled; what she felt with Alexander was anything but wrong, and Zephyr should release her after knowing she belonged to Alexander. However, he held onto her fiercely. Alexander was her mate, a bond ordained by the Moon Goddess-a sacred connection that transcended all else. They were the first true mates in history.

"You believe it's a mistake by the Moon Goddess," Alexander challenged, his voice laced with determination. "So, you think the Moon Goddess can err, but not your husband."

"I... I don't know," Arabella stammered, her mind a whirlwind of confusion. She grappled with the inexplicable twists of destiny that had entangled her in this complex web.

"Arabella, I deeply regret not being present at the mating ball," Alexander confessed, a sense of remorse tainting his words. "If I had been there, I would have found you before Zephyr did, and you would have been with me in my pack house," he spoke in a somber tone, recalling the missed opportunity with a heavy heart.

He vividly remembered the altercation with his step-brother that led to Zephyr summoning him, forbidding his attendance at the Mating Ball. At times, he pondered if it had been deliberate, as though Zephyr had foreseen the arrival of Alexander's fated mate at the ball. Alexander hadn't intended to seek a mate, yet, an inexplicable force had driven him to contemplate attending the ball, but the conflict with his step-brother had disrupted his plans, preventing his participation.

"But you weren't there, and Zephyr was. Now, I am married to him," Arabella's voice quivered with remorse, her inner wolf yearning to acknowledge the mate bond over the marriage.

"Do you love him?" Alexander asked abruptly, his voice turning icy.

Arabella couldn't provide an immediate answer. She felt lost and speechless, uncertain if her presence beside Zephyr was rooted in love for him or merely the consequence of their marriage. Zephyr had never shown concern for Arabella's emotions, never inquired about her desires or decisions.

Conversely, Alexander was her fated mate, and he sought her wishes and desires. He didn't impose himself upon her. Despite the sacred connection between them, he refrained from advancing intimately while he could sense her body's response nestled in his arms. This act touched the deepest recesses of her heart.

As Arabella remained silent,

Alexander spoke with conviction,

tel

"Arabella, there's no use in concealing your emotions. I won't waste another moment without expressing my love for you and my desire to spend my life by your side," he confessed firmly, prompting an unfamiliar sensation to stir within Arabella's heart, causing her to sigh involuntarily.

"Give me the chance to prove my love," he implored.

Arabella sensed her resistance slowly crumbling. Her body and heart seemed to succumb to the powerful pull of the mate bond, instilling a growing sense of fear within her.

"Alpha Alexander, please let go of me," she pleaded, her breath hitched in her chest, her eyes shut tight as she grappled with the overwhelming emotions engulfing her in that moment.

"Arabella, I can't let you go away from me," Alexander confessed, anguish resonating in his voice. "You are my mate, my everything. Without you, I am incomplete," he spoke, his words laden with heartfelt sincerity as he paused to behold her exquisite countenance. No matter how long he gazed upon her serene face, it felt as though it would never be enough.

"I will die if you reject me," he whispered, prompting Arabella's eyes to snap open. Her intentions became evident to him. The mere thought of his demise plunged Arabella into an abyss of intense pain, rendering her breathless and tears streaming down her cheeks. "No!" she cried out, causing Alexander to furrow his brow. "You cannot die."

"Then choose to be with me, my mate," he urged, leaning closer until his lips brushed against her neck with a tenderness that sent goosebumps racing across Arabella's entire body. Such a reaction had never occurred when Zephyr touched or kissed her. "Don't deny it, Arabella. You feel what I feel," he murmured, his embrace tightening around her, drawing her closer until her body flushed against his.

A surge of desire overwhelmed Arabella's thoughts. Her inner wolf yearned to claim their mate. All rational thoughts dissipated as Alexander nibbled at her marking spot. A fiery sensation engulfed her, her initial urge to push him away transformed into a yearning to pull him closer. Breaking away, Alexander locked eyes with Arabella, finding in her gaze the same desire and lust mirrored in his own.

His wolf howled in delight as Alexander, unable to restrain himself any longer, fiercely slammed his lips on hers, kissing her passionately.

Arabella felt an awakening, unlike anything she had experienced before. Her body and mind surrendered to the pleasure ignited by Alexander's touch and kiss.

Responding fervently, she deepened their kiss, matching his intensity.

"I need you, my mate," Alexander groaned, his wolf surfacing as he caught the scent of Arabella's arousal.

With a sigh, Arabella succumbed to his embrace as he effortlessly lifted her in his arms and carried her to their sanctuary, nestled amidst leaves and fragrant vines.

Anticipation and urgency gripped them both, their chests heaving with desire. Despite his yearning, Alexander fought to rein in his primal urges, not wanting to scare Arabella. He understood that restraint would become impossible once he yielded to his desires.

A cry escaped Arabella's lips, her body ablaze with heat. She squirmed and rubbed her thighs, inadvertently triggering Alexander's struggle for control.

With eyes tightly shut, Alexander cursed under his breath, knowing that resisting was futile when his mate was in heat. The uncontrollable instincts of his wolf surged forth, overpowering his resolve.
