Chapter 1281 – Warning

BANG!

Gravis' saber and Cindy's arrow hit each other. Cindy's arrow was completely destroyed as Gravis' attack continued.

Cindy barely managed to move to the side in shock as she grabbed another arrow to shoot at Gravis.

Gravis' eyes never left Cindy's eyes, and she felt deep fear as she looked at them.

It was like Gravis was the antithesis to her existence.

Gravis felt… wrong.

It was like he wasn't supposed to exist.

It was like he didn't belong to this world.

BANG!

Mortis suddenly appeared beside her as he kicked the bow slightly to the side. He couldn't use his saber since attacking with it needed a longer windup time. Mortis' goal wasn't to injure Cindy but to interfere with her counterattack.

Out of reflex, Cindy slapped her bow to the side, pushing against Mortis' kick.

CRACK!

Mortis' leg was destroyed by the mere, casual slap, and he was thrown into the distance.

However, he had accomplished his goal.

Gravis was on the offensive again.

All light and Energy around him was sucked into a black abyss as Gravis exploded forward again.

Cindy's True Law of Danger was screaming at her.

She couldn't be hit by that attack!

Cindy tried to activate her Law of Heavenly Light again, but it was still deactivated.

BANG!

Cindy used another arrow to slap Gravis' saber to the side.

Gravis' attack was diverted, but Cindy's arrow had completely vanished, even though she hadn't even hit the edge of Gravis' saber.

It was like her arrow had simply stopped existing.

Cindy quickly moved to the side and took out another arrow.

Then, she nocked it and aimed at Gravis' head.

When Mortis saw that, he fell into a panic.

He had just barely recovered from Cindy's block, and he didn't have enough time to intercept her attack again.

Mortis was still using the Law of Control to make it harder for Cindy to shoot an accurate arrow, but the arrow would still hit Gravis' head. It just wouldn't hit the center of Gravis' head.

If Gravis were in his normal state of mind, he could easily evade that arrow by moving his head to the side, but Gravis wasn't in his normal state of mind currently.

Like a blind killing machine, Gravis only moved forward in an offensive manner.

Gravis was acting on pure instinct, and he would only avoid attacks if they were launched at him.

However, when Cindy's attack had already been launched, it would already be too late due to the difference in speed.

Mortis' eyes became red as he extended his hand towards Cindy's arrow.

He had to stop it somehow!

No matter what!

Cindy's arrow left her bow, and it shot towards Gravis.

SHING!

Gravis evaded the arrow.

How!?

Well, since Gravis couldn't keep the Law of Sentience active in his state, Mortis took on the duty.

In that moment of Crisis, Mortis had finally comprehended a Law that allowed him to interfere with the arrow.

Mortis had quickly deactivated the Law of Sentience and used that Law, which allowed Gravis to evade.

Which Law was it?

The True Law of Space!

Mortis had expanded the space between Cindy and Gravis. The arrow needed to shoot over a longer distance, allowing Gravis to evade it.

After widening the distance, Mortis reduced the distance between Gravis and Cindy before reactivating the Law of Sentience.

Gravis acted purely on instinct, and when he realized that he was suddenly directly in front of his opponent, he immediately attacked without hesitation.

Meanwhile, Cindy couldn't react as quickly. First, she tried to use her Heavenly Light again, but Mortis had been too fast with his reactivation of the Law of Sentience.

Gravis attacked with his six sabers again.

Cindy couldn't ready another arrow since all the sabers were in the way of her bow.

SHING!

Cindy's bow vanished as she summoned another arrow.

Clank! Clank! Clank! Clank! Clank! Clank!

In an instant, Cindy summoned and sacrificed six different arrows to Gravis' sabers, but she had managed to block Gravis' offensive.

CRKSH!

Suddenly, Cindy's eyes widened.

Gravis was currently in his beast form, and his feet were filled with powerful claws. Gravis hadn't only attacked with his sabers but also with his two legs.

Under normal circumstances, a physical attack from Gravis wouldn't even be able to get through Cindy's skin, but in Gravis' current state, his feet had transformed into Death.

Several bloody holes were created in Cindy's thighs, but Gravis' legs had also vanished.

Gravis had converted his two legs for just a couple of bloody holes.

Then, Gravis let go of his sabers. The backlash from Cindy's earlier block threw the sabers away, but by letting go of the sabers, Gravis' hands continued moving forward.

In terror, Cindy watched as Gravis' claws dug into her torso. The shallow cuts from earlier began to bleed violently.

BZZT!

Suddenly, a tiny bolt of lightning hit Gravis, and his eyes widened as his mind returned to normal.

Gravis' mind quickly processed what had just happened, and he realized why Mortis had woken him.

PACK!

Gravis used the remainders of his arms to surround Cindy's body.

Cindy moved her body around violently, breaking several of Gravis' bones, but Gravis only kept smirking.

BANG!

Suddenly, a spear shot through Gravis' and Cindy's torsos.

Gravis only smirked.

This time, it truly was Mortality.

BOOOOOM!

Mortality exploded out from inside Cindy, destroying a gigantic part of her body.

The earlier cuts from Gravis' Form Law and the holes from his claws expanded, and Cindy's body broke apart at her chest.

The lower two-thirds of her body fell downward.

BZZZT!

Suddenly, Gravis transformed into Void Lightning and consumed the falling part of Cindy's body. That part of the body was no longer connected to Cindy's Spirit, making it willless.

Cindy was still in shock, and the floating remains of her torso quickly took out her bow as she filled it with all the remaining Energy she had.

She could finally use her Heavenly Light again.

With the last of her strength, she shot at the newly formed Gravis.

Gravis only smirked as he sidestepped.

At the side, Mortis' light was changing colors. He was no longer shining brightly but consuming light.

Gravis had consumed enough Energy just now to become a level two Divine God.

WHOOOOM!

Gravis' Will-Aura made Cindy unable to move, and he unleashed his Form Law.

SHING!

And Cindy was dead.

Silence.

After Cindy died, Gravis took a deep breath to calm down.

Then, he turned to the shocked Judge.

"Tell the Peak Sects that I'm coming for them," Gravis said with a smirk.

BANG!

Cindy's belongings exploded into the surroundings, and Gravis absorbed them.

The Judge's mind fell into a panic.

Yes, he was working for The Heaven Company, but he was also a member of the Dusk Wind Sect.

This time, he had seen Gravis' power with his own eyes, and he realized that this was a genuinely terrifying enemy to the Peak Sects.

He had to warn them!

SHING!

The Judge destroyed the emblem for his current job and reappeared in the Dusk Wind Sect.

He had to inform everyone!

Meanwhile, after gathering everything, Gravis and Mortis shot into the underground and vanished.

The Dusk Wind Sect wouldn't find them.

Chapter 1282 – World in Panic

As soon as the Judge returned to the Dusk Wind Sect, the Dusk Wind Sect exploded into activity and noise.

The Judge had transmitted a recording of the fight to every Elder or higher inside the Sect.

The images they saw of the fight were unreal.

If they didn't see it with their own eyes, they wouldn't believe it.

Seven Levels!

And not just any levels! These were seven Levels in the Divine God Realm!

How powerful did someone have to be to pull that off!?

What were these Laws!?

What the hell was going on!?

Now, everyone believed that Gravis existed, and even more, there was a second person that looked similar to Gravis with a comparable Battle-Strength.

Even more, the two of them fought together, which meant that they were friends!

The Vice-Sect Masters, the new Sect Master, and the Ancestor all left the Sect as they charged towards the place where Gravis had just fought.

They had to kill him!

They couldn't allow Gravis to grow anymore!

They had never directly gone against him, but they knew that Gravis knew what their plan had been back then.

Even more, Gravis had declared his stance very clearly.

Gravis was the enemy!

They had to kill Gravis, or they would be next!

The Dusk Wind Sect immediately informed the other Peak Sects, and they also immediately started searching for him.

All wars were forgotten at that moment.

They had to work together to find this threat!

For several years, the Peak Sects combed the entire world.

Yet, they couldn't find him!

Several of Vice-Sect Masters even surrounded Opposer City in the underground. The Vice-Sect Master of the Dusk Wind Sect had seen that Gravis knew the Law of Suffering, and he had connected Gravis to that torturer in Opposer City.

He remembered that the Economistress had backed Gravis, and a terrifying possibility appeared in his mind.

Why would the Economistress back someone like that?

How could Gravis become that powerful?

What if he were her son?

Everything suddenly made sense now!

The strongest geniuses in the Peak Sects could jump four levels, and these geniuses were created by the combined efforts of several Peak Divine Gods. It was basically impossible to create even more powerful geniuses with only Peak Divine Gods.

So, Gravis had to have come from someone more powerful than Peak Divine Gods.

Gravis had to be the Opposer's son!

For obvious reasons, the Peak Sects couldn't directly invade Opposer City. If they did, they wouldn't even know how they died.

Because of that, they surrounded Opposer City. The Judge had seen that Gravis had entered the ground like it didn't exist, which made everyone realize how Gravis had evaded them for so long.

He was moving through the deep underground!

The Peak Sects now searched through absolutely everything without leaving any stone unturned.

They had to find Gravis!

Their survival depended on it!

And then, something shocking happened.

All the Peak Sects lost a huge part of their territories!

Two Sect Masters quickly looked at what had happened, and their rage exploded when they saw the culprit.

"We declared a ceasefire!" one of the Sect Masters shouted.

"So? I never agreed to it," Divine Junior, the Sect Master of the Heavenly Divine Sect, said.

"Are you an idiot!? This Divine God is threatening our survival, and you think about territories and money!?" the Sect Master shouted.

"I never offended him," Divine Junior said. "I'm not his enemy."

The Sect Master gritted his teeth in hatred and frustration. "So!? He's threatening everyone else, and we are all working together right now! With your actions, you're making it more difficult for us to focus on the search! Are you willing to become an enemy of all the other Peak Sects!? Yes, your Sect is powerful, but there's a limit to your power! You know exactly that your senior won't interfere!"

"Then go ahead and attack us," Divine Junior said with an even voice.

The two Sect Masters almost exploded with rage.

This guy!

In the end, they gritted their teeth. "Keep these territories for now. After all of this is over, you will reap what you've sown."

"I'm waiting for it," Divine Junior said before leaving.

The other two Sect Masters also left and informed the other Sects.

The other Sects also exploded into rage.

The Heavenly Divine Sect had become the enemy of every other Peak Sect. Even the True Life Sect was slowly distancing themselves from the Heavenly Divine Sect.

The True Life Sect lived in regret. They had invested so much into the Heavenly Divine Sect, but the Heavenly Divine Sect was led by an irrational madman!

Now, the True Life Sect would need to invest even more to repair their relationship with the other Peak Sects.

Now, the Heavenly Divine Sect had five Peak Sects as their enemy, but for now, the other Sects didn't have any people to spare.

Divine Junior returned to his Sect and entered the conference hall, the hall where the future of the Heavenly Divine Sect would be decided.

"It's done," Divine Junior said with an even voice.

"How did they react?" one of the people in the room asked.

"Angry," Divine Junior answered.

"Perfect," the other person said. "With Gravis spreading chaos across the world, we have all the time in the world to expand. As far as I know Gravis, he will probably lay low for a while longer to comprehend more Laws."

"This time, Gravis has given us an opportunity to expand our Sect. He created an opening, and we took advantage of it."

"Now, it's our time to create an opening for Gravis. I'm certain he will take advantage of it."

"As long as we keep the other Peak Sects in fear and confusion, we will continue to expand."

"At this moment, we are not powerful enough to resist the other Peak Sects, but that's not an issue. The Peak Sects will decimate our forces throughout the world soon, but the survivors will reach higher powers."

"Then, when they are ready to attack us, we'll let Gravis know. When confronted with obliteration, the Peak Sects will retreat."

Divine Junior scratched his chin in thought. The other Elders and Vice-Sect Masters in the hall also thought about that person's words.

"It's a very risky plan, Skywind, but our Sect doesn't fear danger," Divine Junior said.

Then, Divine Junior nodded. "We'll put the plan into motion."

The other Elders and Vice-Sect Masters also nodded.

In one of the seats, Skywind only smiled warmly.

Who was Skywind?

Manuel!

After the destruction of the Eternal Fire Sect, Manuel left with everyone.

They had traveled from place to place without much knowledge of what had happened in the Lightning Peak Sect.

But then, the Economistress had arrived with gifts of unfathomable worth and power.

She informed them of what had happened, and everyone put their heads together to come up with a plan.

In the end, they decided to join the Heavenly Divine Sect, and Manuel even unveiled their background to Divine Junior to show his trust.

It was a risky choice, but Manuel had gambled correctly.

Back when the Peak Sects had seen Gravis, he had been in their hands. Back then, no one would have cared about them and would have simply captured them.

However, with Gravis on the loose, everything was up in the air.

Gravis was an actual danger, and Manuel gambled on the fact that the Heavenly Divine Sect didn't want to make Gravis their enemy.

So, when the recording of Gravis' fight had entered the world, Manuel had revealed everyone to the leaders of the Heavenly Divine Sect.

Over the next years, everyone had talked about what to do, and Manuel made plenty of great suggestions.

Eventually, the Heavenly Divine Sect followed Manuel's plan, and they attacked the territories of the other Peak Sects.

"I really wanted to fight one of the Sect Masters," another person beside Manuel said with a sigh.

"I know that you want to," Manuel answered with a smile. "They are just right for you as tempering, but we have to let them go this time. Wait until shortly before they launch their full assault. We'll isolate one of their stronger Vice-Sect Masters. That should also serve as tempering for you."

"Sure, why not?" the person answered with a relaxed smile.

Who was that person?

It was Arc!

Arc had joined Gravis' group of friends.

"I hope Gravis isn't too angry with me."

Chapter 1283 – Plans

While the world was going crazy, Gravis and Mortis vanished into the underground again.

This time, they didn't return to Opposer City. The Judge had seen all their Laws and techniques, which meant that the higher-ups of several Sects probably connected Gravis to the Opposer. After all, Gravis had once met one of the Vice-Sect Masters of the Dusk Wind Sect.

Gravis knew that this would be the most critical period of time. After all, back then, Gravis had only been a distant threat, but now, he was very close to reaching the Peak Sects.

After the fight, Gravis and Mortis had reached the second level of the Divine God Realm. By now, Mortis' body had shrunken to a normal size, which meant that he no longer needed to keep his body size under control.

Additionally, Mortis was no longer shining like a star, making it far easier to talk with people. Sadly, the two of them weren't among people at this moment.

In the battle, they had comprehended the True Law of Space. It was nice to learn another Law, but that hadn't been their goal.

Their goal had been their Will-Aura.

So, how much had their Will-Aura increased?

At this moment, Gravis' Will-Aura was in the seventh level of the Divine God Realm.

This was a good and a bad thing at the same time.

Good because Gravis closed in on the Heaven's Magnate Realm.

Bad because Gravis could now only temper himself against people with a Will-Aura at the eighth level of the Divine God Realm or stronger. Luckily, nearly all the level seven Divine Gods had Will-Auras on that level. After all, there were no untalented people left.

Another good thing was the stuff Cindy had dropped after dying. She had owned over 4,000 God Crystals, which was quite a bit. In fact, it was more than enough to push Gravis and Mortis to the third level of the Divine God Realm.

Gravis did some calculations. He wanted to calculate what kind of Laws his future opponent would have and if he had a chance to win against them.

Fighting seven levels above himself would only be possible if the opponent didn't know a level ten Law. After all, as soon as someone knew one of the level ten Laws, that Law would push its subservient Law to the same power level.

In short, all their main Laws would be level ten Laws, which would require Gravis to continually keep his Law of Sentience running at full power. Of course, that would also suppress Gravis' and Mortis' Laws, and that was why they couldn't afford to fight someone like that. They needed their own Laws to make up for the speed difference.

Gravis had learned quite a bit about the Peak Sects by now. The Black Magnate and the Economistress no longer kept everything a secret from him since Gravis was now nearly at the peak.

The average Sect Master of a Peak Sect knew nearly two level ten Laws or two level ten Laws.

An Ancestor was well on their way to comprehending a third level ten Law.

A Vice-Sect Master was a level nine Divine God, and they had to know at least one level ten Law.

The next lower rank would be a Core Elder. Core Elders were the decision-makers together with the Vice-Sect Masters and Sect Master.

However, they were not level nine Divine Gods.

Pushing Divine Gods to the ninth level was a significant expenditure. Just the last two levels needed over 700,000 God Crystals.

Gravis had only gotten around 10,000 God Crystals by selling all his Law Comprehension Life Fruits. Sure, he hadn't gotten very much compared to their real worth, but it showed how much 700,000 God Crystals were.

The Peak Sects would need to gather all the resources from their many God Stone mines, pool them together for many years, and only then could they afford to push another Divine God to the ninth level.

That meant that there were limited spots for level nine Divine Gods in the Peak Sects. They could only afford to upgrade one of them every million years or every couple million years, depending on the wealth of the Peak Sect.

The eighth level of the Divine God Realm was also very expensive, although not quite as expensive as the ninth level.

Because of that, the Core Elders were all at the seventh level of the Divine God Realm.

If one of them managed to comprehend a level ten Law, they would be allowed to advance to the ninth level with the Sect's help.

Comprehending a level ten Law was everything but easy.

A level one Divine God had just learned their first level nine Law, and they would need to temper themselves for the next two or three level nine Laws. At that point, they would also need to advance in their Realm due to their growing Will-Aura from their tempering.

Only after all of that had been done could they comprehend level nine Laws without additional tempering.

Mainly only Core Elders fell into that category.

In the Peak Sects, the Core Elders were the only group of people that didn't need tempering.

The weaker Divine Gods needed tempering for their level nine Laws, while the Ancestral Gods needed tempering for their Will-Aura.

The Peak Divine Gods needed tempering to push their Law Comprehension towards the next main Law.

The Core Elders were the only ones that weren't interested in tempering. They only needed time and Law Comprehension Areas.

Because of all of these factors, Gravis decided that his next target would be a Core Elder.

Level seven Divine God.

Fittingly enough, a level seven Divine God was exactly seven levels above a level two Divine God in terms of actual power due to the gap between the third and fourth, and the sixth and seventh levels.

Even more, the Core Elders probably already had Will-Auras on the level of level eight or even level nine Divine Gods.

They were perfect for Gravis.

After planning with Mortis for a bit, the two of them decided on their next course of action.

They could advance to the third level of the Divine God Realm by using their new wealth, but they didn't want to. However, it would also be a waste not to take advantage of their new wealth.

So, the two of them absorbed a lot of the God Crystals until they had enough Energy to create a couple of clones.

After that, they split up their clones.

The clones would keep watch over some important areas of the Peak Sects. The two of them made sure to hide their clones in covert places, and they didn't directly go to locations where others could see them.

Thanks to their Elemental Synchronicity, solid matter didn't inhibit their Spirit Sense, essentially giving them a far greater range than a normal Sect Master's Spirit Sense.

As long as the powerful people in the Sects didn't suddenly aggressively teleport around the place and focus on finding Gravis near their Sect, they wouldn't notice the two of them.

While the clones kept watch over the Peak Sects to look for openings to snatch an opponent, Gravis and Mortis focused on comprehending some more Laws.

There were a few Laws they wanted to comprehend.

Chapter 1284 – Exodus

While their clones kept watch over the Peak Sects, Gravis and Mortis split up to check for the remaining Laws they wanted to comprehend.

Gravis went to the bottom of the world and stopped above the silver wall. The gravity around this place had made everything else irrelevant with its sheer power.

Gravis would focus on the True Law of Gravity. There was no True Law of Primordial Forces, but space, time, and gravity were still part of the same subset of Laws. Knowing all three of them gave one more power in manipulating them.

Mortis searched for an isolated place and concentrated on his Spirit.

They were only missing the Law of Soul Infusion. With that, they could combine all the other Laws of Life and finish the True Law of Life.

The True Law of Sentience already gave Gravis and Mortis full control over their Spirits, which made the comprehension of Soul-related Laws far easier.

Surprisingly, the first one that managed to finish his Law was Gravis. He had already learned a lot about gravity just by constantly being that deep down in the earth, and he also knew the True Law of Time and Space now.

Comprehending the True Law of Gravity didn't even take Gravis 50,000 years, which was nothing for a level nine Law.

'The Matter Laws are done. The Primordial Force Laws are done. I'm only missing the Elemental Laws for the True Law of the Dead World,' Gravis thought.

Gravis checked up on Mortis. 'He still needs a little bit. I should focus on the Water Element Laws for now.'

While Mortis continued comprehending the Life Laws, Gravis went to comprehend the Mixed Elemental Laws related to Water.

With Gravis' new Realm and his new experience, comprehending a level eight Law only took him 100,000 years.

It was frighteningly fast.

Other Cultivators slowed down as the Laws became harder, but Gravis seemingly sped up.

After Gravis comprehended the second Mixed-Elemental Law related to Water, Mortis finally finished the True Law of Soul Infusion.

BOOOOM!

As soon as Mortis comprehended the Law, the True Law of Soul Infusion, Soul Destruction, and Soul Regeneration fused together to create the level nine True Law of the Soul.

Without pause, Mortis concentrated on the Composition Laws.

After Gravis comprehended another Mixed Elemental Law, Mortis managed to fuse the True Law of Body Composition and the True Law of Plant Composition to create the level nine True Law of Life Composition.

Gravis comprehended another Mixed Elemental Law, and Mortis managed to fuse the True Law of Body Growth and the True Law of Plant Growth to create the level nine True Law of Life Growth.

However, Mortis wasn't fully done yet. There was still one more Law he needed.

The True Law of Energy Healing.

The Law of Energy Healing described the concept of conversion from Energy to Life Energy, something necessary for the True Law of Life. That Law would also help Gravis and Mortis in becoming even more powerful since knowing that Law essentially multiplied their storage for Life Energy.

Sadly, that Law would take a long time. After all, Gravis' abilities were not only not helpful to comprehending that kind of Law but even detrimental.

One shouldn't forget that Gravis' and Mortis' composition was not like the composition of a normal Cultivator.

While comprehending more Laws, Gravis' and Mortis' clones kept watch over the Peak Sects.

Over the last couple of years, the Peak Sects had been in a very nervous state. People were often exploding onto each other, and they were fearful and stressed out.

By the looks of it, this situation also wouldn't calm down over the next period of time. According to Gravis, the situation would probably continue to worsen until something major happened.

The Elder of the Dusk Wind Sect had committed a major error by announcing the fight to the entire world.

In his haste to warn everyone, he had warned as many people as he could. After all, this should show the danger of their current situation, right?

The more people that knew about it, the better, right?

Wrong.

In order to fight against a powerful enemy, one needed unity. A collective would have to work very closely together to deal with the issue.

In the short term, that Elder had accomplished exactly that.

Yet, what about the long term?

After everyone had given their all in search of Gravis and had returned without a result, would they still follow the greater collective?

They had all been unified, but not even that had been enough to find Gravis.

After so many years without a result, the chances of finding and killing Gravis became smaller and smaller.

And worst of all, time was working against them.

Every year they didn't find Gravis was a year Gravis would grow more powerful.

The people in the Peak Sects were not stupid.

Every single member could see how this would go.

They hadn't been able to find and stop Gravis when he had been an Ancestral God.

They couldn't find and stop Gravis when he was a level two Divine God.

What level would he be when he reappeared?

Even if they could find him, would they be able to stop him at that point?

As more time passed, more and more members of the Peak Sects began to hate their leadership.

Why did they have to underestimate him!?

How could they have let him escape!?

Why couldn't they just have looked on without doing anything!?

The Heavenly Divine Sect did just that, and they weren't living in fear right now!

The Heavenly Divine Sect wasn't even Gravis' ally or friend! They hadn't helped him one bit!

They had only looked on neutrally and acted like Gravis' existence had nothing to do with them!

Was it the Heavenly Divine Sect's fault that they were in this mess now?

Hell no!

These people weren't stupid! They wouldn't blame someone for their own mistakes.

The Heavenly Divine Sect had done the right thing. It was their leadership that had decided to jump into a cage with a tiger!

"As a Sect, you're supposed to offer me protection for my services! I'm giving you my power and services, and you give me protection and resources!"

These were the thoughts of most people in the Peak Sects.

"As the leaders of the Sects, you're supposed to keep the Sect afloat and secure! Don't anger people you shouldn't anger!"

None of the members were servants or slaves.

In fact, the members of the Peak Sects could at most be described as long-term employees with a high degree of loyalty.

Yet, if an organization fucked up hard enough, even those employees could be pushed away.

And with that, the first mass exodus in an eternity took place in the Peak Sects.

They knew that Gravis was after the Peak Sects.

So, if they were no longer members of the Peak Sects, they should be safe.

Of course, there was also a possibility that the Peak Sects would win the clash, but most of the members doubted it.

They would rather become wild Cultivators without any affiliations than wait for their death.

They would rather make their own Sects. At least then, their Sect wouldn't be led by greedy and selfish idiots!

Many members were leaving the Peak Sects.

However, that wasn't only true for the ones against Gravis.

No, the Heavenly Divine Sect also lost a ton of members.

Why?

Because the members saw that all the other Peak Sects were going against the Heavenly Divine Sect. After all, the Heavenly Divine Sect had attacked the other Peak Sects at the worst time possible.

Sure, the Heavenly Divine Sect was incredibly powerful, but they couldn't fight the entire world on their own!

So, even the Heavenly Divine Sect lost an insane number of people.

With each passing year, more Cultivators left the Peak Sects.

The leaders of the Peak Sects fell into a spiral of stress.

They weren't even fighting anyone!

They weren't even losing money!

Yet, they were still dying!

Everything was fine! The members were powerful! They had tons of resources!

Yet, all the members left regardless!

Because of what?

Because of some weak Divine God!

Did these people completely forget that any Sect Master could destroy that Divine God with a snip of their finger!?

Yet, it didn't help.

The members left anyway.

And so, the Peak Sects decided that drastic measures were in order.

In the middle of the mass exodus, a shocking piece of news was unveiled.

Gravis had been found in the Heavenly Divine Sect!

Chapter 1285 – Fighting Breaks Out

The world fell into shock.

Gravis was in the Heavenly Divine Sect?

Finally, everything made sense!

No wonder they couldn't find him for so long!

This guy was hiding in another Peak Sect!

There were not many places where the Sects couldn't go, and another Peak Sect was one of them!

How could some weak Divine God possibly evade five of the six Peak Sects of the world without the help of another Peak Sect!?

Everyone had believed that the Heavenly Divine Sect was neutral, but they actually weren't.

This also explained why they didn't fear Gravis even a little.

On top of that, it would explain why the Heavenly Divine Sect had suddenly begun their aggressive expansion!

They had this insane Divine God backing them!

With just a bit more time, the Heavenly Divine Sect could rule the world with the help of that Divine God!

However, their plan had been found out, fortunately!

The rage of five different Peak Sects immediately concentrated on the Heavenly Divine Sect.

They wouldn't forgive them!

As soon as the news had been announced, all the different Peak Sects declared a state of war.

The leaders of four Sects gathered and decided on a battle plan, the only one missing being the Mortal Sect.

The Heavenly Divine Sect had to die!

The Sects all gathered in the headquarters of the Twilight Council.

Every Sect took their Sect Master, Vice-Sect Masters, Ancestors, and nearly all Core-Elders and went to the Heavenly Divine Sect.

They would immediately obliterate the entire Sect with one huge strike!

16 Peak Divine Gods and over 50 level seven Divine Gods went towards the Heavenly Divine Sect.

The Heavenly Divine Sect only had four Peak Divine Gods.

In order not to warn the Heavenly Divine Sect, the force didn't use any Teleportation Formation Arrays. Yet, with their power, it still didn't take long to get there.

A level seven Divine God could cross the core region of the highest world in only two years.

Two years later, the force was already inside the Heavenly Divine Sect's territory.

They would attack very soon.

"Has the secret leaked?" the Sect Master of the Dusk Wind Sect asked the other Sect Master.

"No, only the present people know the truth. The ones that don't know have been left behind," the Sect Master of the Twilight Council answered.

The Sect Master of the Dusk Wind Sect nodded. "Good. We need unity in these times, and the Heavenly Divine Sect can unify us by being our enemy. They have also acted way too brazen recently. Are the other Core Elders still keeping a watch out for the Calamity?"

"They are still keeping a watch out," the Sect Master of the True Life said with a smile. "Also, you act like we've lied. It's actually possible that the Calamity is hiding in the Heavenly Divine Sect. We can't know that for sure."

"Have you joined the Mortal Sect recently?" the Sect Master of the Eternity Sect asked emotionlessly. "We don't know, but we have declared the Calamity is there. That's a lie, and we can't act like it isn't."

The Sect Master of the True Life Sect only snorted. "That's why I previously didn't want to join you guys. You're no fun."

WHOOOM!

Everyone's eyes narrowed as a gigantic Formation Array suddenly activated.

"They found us! Prepare for attack!" the Sect Master of the Dusk Wind Sect announced. "Don't forget to question your own perception regularly!"

"It's an isolation Formation Array used for tempering, but I've never seen such a powerful one," the Sect Master of the Eternity Sect declared with a solemn expression.

"It has obviously been created by Heavenly Senior," the Sect Master of the Dusk Wind Sect said with frustration. "The Law of Freedom won't help us to get out of this since this has been created by a Heaven's Magnate. However, Heaven's Magnates are forbidden from interfering with our world too much. There is a limit to how much they can do."

SHING! SHING!

A couple of members were involuntarily teleported away, while others remained.

The members that had been teleported away appeared in seemingly a separate space.

BANG!

Someone immediately attacked the members that had been teleported away.

"Three Core Elders?" Someone shouted with a loud laugh. "I should thank the Sect Master for this great present!"

The three Core Elders looked over and saw a Core Elder of the Heavenly Divine Sect.

He was more powerful than the average Core Elder, but he wasn't much more powerful. He could attempt to fight one of them, but he couldn't possibly survive a fight against three.

"Come!" the Core Elder shouted as he readied both of his swords with a mad grin. "The Heavenly Divine Sect doesn't flee from danger!"

The three Core Elders narrowed their eyes before they charged forward.

The same thing was repeated in nine other separate areas.

"Man, I really didn't want to take on such a risky fight," one of the Core Elders complained to his three opponents.

"Only three? Does the Sect Master think that I'm that weak!?" another one raged.

The ten Core Elders of the Heavenly Divine Sect had started fighting against 30 enemy Core Elders.

Yet, that still left 20 unaccounted for.

"Come on, you bitches! Have you already shat your pants after seeing your big-dick mistress? Ow-!"

Five Core Elders were looking with shock at two plants in front of them.

Where had these plants come from?

There weren't many powerful plants in this world, and the few ones that existed were known by basically everyone.

Yet, where had these two Divine God Plants come from!?

Also, why did they feel this powerful!?

"Stop acting like a child," Narcissus reprimanded Meadow.

Narcissus and Meadow were dealing with another five.

BANG!

Another Core Elder was immediately attacked by someone, but the Core Elder managed to block the attack rather easily.

In front of the Core Elder was a green-haired youngster with a long sword.

The Core Elder narrowed his eyes.

This youngster felt powerful.

Yet, this youngster was only a level five Divine God.

Was this youngster attempting to jump three levels?

Was he insane?

Which Core Elder hadn't been able to jump three levels in the past, but now, they couldn't even jump one since everyone else was just as outstanding as them.

"I can't win against you," Manuel slowly said. "However, I have to win regardless!"

"This time, I'm trusting my future potential!"

The Core Elder only narrowed his eyes.

"I'm taking the five on the left," a blue-haired woman said with a confident smirk.

"Fine, then I'll take the other five. Whoever wins first gets bragging rights," a red-haired woman said from the blue-haired woman's side.

The ten Core Elders felt quite some shock when they saw these two women.

This Battle-Strength…

How were these two so powerful!?

In a different space, a Core Elder stood before a group of several level five and level six Divine Gods.

The Core Elder didn't believe them to be worthy enemies.

"Seems like I got the short end of the stick," the Core Elder commented. "The others probably have equal opponents while I get the filler."

His opponents didn't answer.

Yes, there hadn't been enough powerful people to deal with the Core Elders. Because of that, several groups had been created to fight one Core Elder each.

Sadly, the chances of victory were minuscule.

"Really, all four of you appeared?" an old man with black hair said with a sigh.

"We can't come with less," the Ancestor of the Eternity Sect said. "Coming with less would only be suicide."

The old man in front of them only scratched the back of his head. "Well, let's see if you guys can finally teach me the True Law of Control."

This was the Ancestor of the Heavenly Divine Sect.

In a different space, one man was looking at his three opponents with cold eyes.

Divine Junior was standing in front of the Sect Masters of the Eternity Sect, Twilight Council, and Dusk Wind Sect.

The three Sect Masters knew that this fight wouldn't be easy.

If they had the Sect Master of the True Life Sect here, they could definitely win, but with only the three of them, the chances of victory were fifty-fifty.

"How many members are you willing to sacrifice just to deal with Scilla?" the Sect Master of the Dusk Wind Sect said.

"None," Divine Junior answered. "She has her own worthy opponent."

This confused the Sect Masters.

Which other person could possibly be on the same level as the Sect Master of the True Life Sect?

"I hope you don't take this personally, but I really need some tempering. Are you okay with that?" a blonde man with five eyes said to the Sect Master of the True Life Sect with a kind smile.

Scilla, the Sect Master of the True Life Sect, only looked at Arc with shock.

She had never heard of this person.

Yet, the Battle-Strength of this person…

How was his Battle-Strength so powerful!?

"Let's start, shall we?" Arc asked.

Scilla readied herself.

SHING!

Yet, her preparations were interrupted as she suddenly got an urgent message from one of her Elders, who had been left behind in their headquarters.

Scilla could only look with absolute shock at the message.

Arc noticed her expression and smirked.

"Oh? Seems like Gravis chose your Sect."

"Sorry, but this Formation Array also cancels out voice transmissions. Things can come in, but not out."

"You have to get through me first if you want to rescue your Sect."

Chapter 1286 – Core Elder

Deep in the earth, Gravis and Mortis noticed that the Peak Sects had begun to move. Just a couple of months ago, there had been Divine Gods that could sense him everywhere, but now, they had nearly all left.

Gravis inspected the Law fragments of some Ancestral Gods to check what had happened, and he only snorted when he realized why everyone had left.

'You saw that your Sects were losing members without end, so you quickly created a scapegoat to unite them. Give them a bit of hope so that they won't leave, huh?'

'Is that to lure me out? I wonder, what would you do if I didn't appear?'

Then, Gravis smirked.

'Yet, I'm not a person that just watches. You attack the Heavenly Divine Sect? Sure, go ahead. The Heavenly Divine Sect isn't my ally, but you've left yourself open to an attack.'

Their clones quickly checked through all the Peak Sects, and they realized that basically everyone had left their Sect except for the Mortal Sect.

'So many opponents to choose from,' Gravis thought with a smile.

Then, Gravis' eyes fell onto the True Life Sect.

'If I take on someone too difficult, my Will-Aura might get stuck at the ninth level of the Divine God Realm. At that point, no Divine God would be able to fight me.'

'If my Will-Aura only reaches the ninth level, I would need to fight Heaven's Magnates with a weaker Will-Aura, which makes things difficult. After all, all Heaven's Magnates know all the Laws I know except for some exceptions. Their suppression would make it rather difficult.'

'So, I should take on an easier but still dangerous fight to push my Will-Aura to the eighth level of the Divine God Realm. At that point, the Sect Masters and Vice-Sect Masters would still be immune to my Law of Perceived Reality, granting me actual opponents.'

Gravis contacted Mortis, and the two of them quickly came up with a plan.

Nearly all of their clones traveled toward their main bodies. Since the powerful members of the Sects were all gathered, the two of them didn't need to fear surveillance. Because of that, they simply used the Teleportation Formation Arrays to gather.

Mortis had only left one single clone alive, and that clone kept watch over the Heavenly Divine Sect.

If Gravis and Mortis initiated their fight before the Sects went into battle, the Sects could probably just use some emergency teleportation emblems to return, but if they were entranced in a battle, they couldn't flee as easily.

After waiting for nearly two years, their opportunity finally arrived.

Mortis' clone felt the activation of the powerful Formation Array, and he immediately knew that the war had begun.

BANG!

Mortis' clone exploded as he self-destructed. The clone hadn't been very powerful, which meant that they hadn't lost much Energy.

"It started!" Mortis quickly told Gravis.

Gravis nodded, and the two of them immediately charged out of the ground.

Battles between Divine Gods took seconds at most, which meant that they had to immediately attack.

BANG!

Gravis broke through a Formation Array without trying to keep himself hidden.

"Who-"

SHING!

Gravis and Mortis had appeared in an underground cave, and the occupant had just tried to catch Gravis and Mortis to see who dared to enter their domain.

Yet, Samsara immediately hit them.

"He's dead," Gravis quickly told Mortis.

In front of the two of them was a gigantic tree. At the moment, it appeared rather healthy, and it was still producing valuable Law Comprehension Life Fruits.

Yet, its will had already been eradicated.

The strength of these plants was their ridiculous longevity. A plant in the Divine God Realm could live for a whopping 100 million years, which was ridiculous. During that time, they could comprehend an insane number of Laws, and they could fully optimize their Battle-Strength.

However, when it came to Gravis, a longer longevity was not a strength but a weakness.

The very reason for the plants' strength was the very thing that killed them when they fought Gravis.

Samsara was simply far too destructive to something so ancient.

The Core Plant of the True Life Sect had been their first target. If that plant had been able to initiate an attack, Gravis and Mortis wouldn't be able to survive, but with the plant gone, they could fully concentrate on their opponent.

Just when Gravis and Mortis had broken through the Formation Arrays, the presiding Core Elder became alarmed.

SHING!

The Core-Elder appeared in front of the Core Plant, and his eyes widened in terror.

What was going on!?

There were two intruders in the plant's cave, but the Core Plant wasn't attacking the intruders?

It never allowed anyone to easily enter its cave!

That's when the Core Elder realized what had happened.

Wasn't this the same thing that had happened to the Core Plant of the Lightning Peak Sect?

The plant seemed alive, but it was actually dead!

At the same time, the Core Elder saw Gravis and Mortis.

He knew those two!

They were here!?

He knew that their attack on the Heavenly Divine Sect was only a scheme, but he hadn't expected that Gravis would actually appear!

This wasn't good!

The Core Elder quickly took out an expensive emblem and broke it.

This emblem carried all the information the Core Elder had just gathered, and it would reach his Sect Master's ears.

Gravis and Mortis had appeared, and they had killed the True Life Sect's Core Plant!

After informing his Sect Master, the Core Elder immediately readied himself for a battle. He couldn't let these two get away!

Gravis and Mortis took out their sabers, and they immediately charged at the Core Elder.

CRK!

The elder suddenly transformed into a Black Demon with four arms. He was obviously a beast.

Four hard and powerful gloves appeared over his arms as powerful armor appeared on his legs and tail.

SHING!

Mortis suddenly appeared in front of the Core Elder while unleashing his Form Law.

The Core Elder was far faster than the two of them, and he swiped at Mortis with his tail.

SHING! BANG!

Yet, the Core Elder's eyes widened as he realized that his tail had been severed!

At the same time, the cut-off tail hit Mortis, nearly killing him in the process.

Mortis had barely survived the attack, but it had been worth it. Their opponent had lost an appendage.

Why had they chosen the True Life Sect as their target?

Because a Core Elder of the True Life Sect would be the easiest to beat. The True Life Sect fully focused on the Life Laws, and the Life Laws were all about physical attacks and regeneration.

And the Major Law of Death was the bane of these kinds of Cultivators.

The Core Elder quickly used the Law of his Star, the True Law of Energy Healing.

Yet, two things immediately shocked and terrified the Core Elder.

First, he had suddenly been assaulted by a wave of unending and incomprehensible pain.

Second, he couldn't heal his tail!

It was like his tail had never existed to begin with!

SHING!

Gravis had transformed and attacked the Core Elder with all six of his sabers.

It became difficult for the Core Elder to react due to all the pain, but he did his best.

He unleashed several punches toward Gravis.

Chapter 1287 – Relentless Offense

The Core Elder attacked Gravis with a multitude of punches. At this moment, Gravis couldn't react to the attacks since he was using his Form Law with his six sabers.

If he were alone, he would die.

However, he wasn't alone, and that was why he had done something as reckless as this to begin with.

The punches of the Core Elder slowed down as space was expanded.

BANG!

However, there was only so much Mortis could do, and his warping of space had quickly been broken by the sheer physical power of the Core Elder.

Yet, it had accomplished its goal.

Gravis' sabers moved down further.

However, the punches of the Core Elder would still hit first. Gravis' sabers would just barely miss the Core Elder's hands.

WHOOOOM!

Suddenly, the four arms of the Core Elder were pulled to the side as Gravis' sabers exuded a terrifying pull of gravity.

Gravis had added the Law of Gravity to his Form Law, giving it the ability to pull the enemies towards his attack.

Of course, the power of the Core Elder was still incomparable to Gravis, and the Form Law only managed to pull the arms to the side by a slight bit.

Yet, that was already enough.

The Core Elder remembered what had happened to his tail, and he immediately decided to cancel his attack.

Usually, as someone that fully focused on the Life Laws, the Core Elder would like nothing more than to trade injuries with his enemy. Sadly, Gravis had some form of powerful ability to make it impossible for the Core Elder to heal his injuries.

Gravis was the perfect counter to him.

The Core Elder pulled his arms back as he jumped backward.

BANG!

That's when Gravis' eyes became emotionless and cold.

WHOOOOM!

An incredible pressure pressed into the Core Elder, and for a second, he felt like he was standing in front of an enemy that didn't belong to this world.

BANG!

Gravis exploded forward as Brutality exploded behind him. A terrifying streak of grey was left behind him in the air.

In a panic, the Core Elder quickly focused on his Form Law again, and he shockingly unleashed a ranged attack!

Just like Gravis, the Core Elder had developed a Form Law that could be used from a distance.

In Gravis' current condition, he couldn't avoid the attack, and it hit him.

BANG! BANG!

In the last moment, Mortis used an explosion below Gravis to push him upward, protecting his head and upper chest.

80% of Gravis' body had been destroyed, but he had survived.

Yet, Gravis acted like nothing had happened as he continued charging forward, only being a head, half a chest, and two arms with two sabers.

Gravis' other arms had been obliterated, and his sabers had been shot into the distance.

The Core Elder was shocked that Gravis had managed to survive the attack, and he quickly unleashed another attack.

WHOOOM!

Yet, the Core Elder's eyes suddenly opened wide as he felt something dangerous approach.

Behind him, a spear filled with Heavenly Lightning was shooting at him at terrifying speeds!

During the instant when the Core Elder had been shocked by Gravis, Mortis had prepared Mortality and had unleashed it.

Usually, the Core Elder wouldn't mind being hit by such an attack as long as it didn't hit his head, but Gravis' ability to stop his regeneration still terrified the Core Elder.

BANG!

The Core Elder turned around and dealt with Mortality before it could reach him.

Then, he turned around again to focus on Gravis. The Core Elder's speed was so fast that he could do all of this in just an instant.

Gravis was still healing, but that little bit of time had only allowed him to regenerate parts of his chest.

At this critical moment, the Core Elder decided to sacrifice two of his arms to kill Gravis.

His upper two arms directly attacked Gravis' two sabers while his lower two arms attacked Gravis.

Mortis charged forward without trying to do anything. He knew that he wouldn't be able to do anything anyway with his power. Gravis and the Core Elder were too close to each other.

Additionally, Mortis was not as worried. Sure, there was a genuine chance that Gravis could die, but Mortis knew how the mind of the Avatar of Death worked.

It wanted to kill everything, and it was very, very good at it.

In such a moment, the Avatar of Death would comprehend the perfect Law to do the job.

SHING! SHING!

Gravis' eyes remained emotionless as his saber slashed through the upper two arms of the Core Elder. However, his attack had also been halted.

SHING! SHING!

The Core Elder's eyes opened wide in shock and terror.

All six of Gravis' arms had recovered in an instant!

Gravis had comprehended the level nine True Law of Energy Healing!

The other two arms of the Core Elder had been destroyed by the middle pair of Gravis' arms.

The lower two arms of Gravis were extending towards the Core Elder's body.

At that moment, the Core Elder quickly decided to throw everything away and flee. He would cut off his arms and run far into the distance.

BZZT!

That was the moment when Mortis woke Gravis up again with a small bolt of Heavenly Lightning.

As soon as Gravis regained his clarity, Mortis' thoughts went through his mind, and Gravis immediately followed the order without even questioning it.

Before the Core Elder could flee, Gravis opened his mouth widely.

The Core Elder looked with shock into Gravis' opened maw.

BOOOOOOOM!

An intense beam of Heavenly Lightning shot out of Gravis as he used the all-out attack of the beasts.

BZZZ!

At the same time, Gravis transformed into his Void Lightning form to not pull Mortis down with him.

Gravis transported a saber with a fully-loaded Lightning Crescent into Mortis' Spirit Space. Gravis had prepared this saber before the fight, and he hadn't been able to unleash it up to now.

Mortis immediately took out that saber and created a Lightning Crescent of his own.

Then, he unleashed both of them at once.

BOOOOOOOOOM!

BOOOOOOOOOM!

An intense explosion of Heavenly Lightning wrecked the True Life Sect, but the Judge kept everything in check.

Then, Gravis, in his Void Lightning form, entered the explosion and absorbed as much as he could.

Gravis quickly transformed back and summoned a long spear.

BOOOM!

Another smaller Lightning Crescent exploded on the butt of the spear to make it shoot forward.

BANG!

The Core Elder broke out of the explosion, bad burns all over his body.

He was terrified!

He would die!

He had to flee!

That was when the Core Elder felt a terrifying spear fly towards him.

In his panic, he quickly willed for his arms to protect his head.

However, there were no arms.

The Core Elder was used to always having arms. After all, he had a terrifying amount of Life Energy.

Clink!

The Void Needle hit the Core Elder's head and consumed the front half before vanishing.

Of course, that was enough to kill the Core Elder.

Gravis shot a bit of Heavenly Lightning at the Core Elder and consumed him.

BOOOM!

Gravis immediately became a level four Divine God, and his Will-Aura broke into the eighth level of the Divine God Realm.

The fight had been dangerous, but it hadn't been as perilous as most of Gravis' fights.

SHING!

WHOOOOM!

Suddenly, an apocalyptic pressure engulfed Gravis and Mortis.

The two of them looked over, and they saw an old man with green hair.

Judging by the pressure they were feeling from him, this was someone on the level of a Sect Master or more powerful.

In fact, it was the Ancestor of the True Life Sect!

Chapter 1288 – Critical Information

A couple of seconds ago, near the Heavenly Divine Sect.

Everyone was fighting fiercely. Child of Heaven had to oversee the entire battle since no other Judge could keep such destruction in check.

The Core Elders were fighting other Core Elders and several smaller groups of Cultivators.

There were some surprises, but there were also a lot of fights that ended just how one would think they would end.

Yet, there were still many surprises happening consecutively.

One of these surprises was the fact that the red-haired and blue-haired women were able to keep five Core Elders in check while being two levels below them. One had to remember that every Core Elder had been a peak genius in the past, and starting at the seventh level of the Divine God Realm, jumping levels was basically unheard of.

Yet, these two women were able to fight five on one against people that were two levels above them.

Another surprising person was that green-haired fellow. He had actually won against his opponent, even though Child of Heaven had been 90% sure that he would lose.

Child of Heaven could only admit that these three people had terrifying talents when it came to growth inside battle.

Another huge surprise was Divine Junior. He was fighting three Sect Masters, but he still managed to somehow survive. As more time passed, the Sect Masters began to coordinate their attacks more and more as they got used to each other. Yet, Divine Junior also seemed to improve.

It was almost like he started to foresee his opponents' attacks.

He might even win.

Sadly, the Ancestor of the Heavenly Divine Sect had it incredibly difficult.

He was fighting four Ancestors, and he was barely able to buy some time. Yes, the Ancestor was very powerful, but fighting against four other Ancestors was too much.

It was like the Ancestor had already accepted his death.

The Ancestor of the Heavenly Divine Sect was a rather unknown person. Several million years ago, Divine Junior and Heavenly Senior had grown to power with incredible speed. Similar to the Opposer, they had offended a lot of powers, and they had been hunted by powers that should have been able to kill them.

Yet, for some unknown reason, the two of them had always managed to survive.

What was the reason?

The reason was that they weren't two brothers, but three brothers.

The third brother always kept himself hidden to lure out powerful opponents. The opponents would send a force stronger than the two brothers, and that's when the third brother appeared, making the fight even.

His name?

Sector Lord.

Heavenly Senior and Divine Junior had known each other since the lower world, but Sector Lord had only joined them in the higher world. Back then, the three had met in Arc's world, the most powerful higher world.

Ever since then, they had been a trio.

When these three had created a Sect, they had used their names. Yet, the third brother, who had never appeared in the outside world, had still remained hidden, even though part of his name was also in the name of the Sect.

Heavenly Divine Sect.

Sector Lord.

He was very powerful, but the four Ancestors were still a bit too much. From the looks of things, he was betting on the fact that Divine Junior managed to come out victorious and would help him after that.

Sector Lord was truly entrusting his life to his brother.

Sadly, it didn't seem like Sector Lord would survive. Yes, Divine Junior was fighting very well, but he wouldn't be done anytime soon. By the time he would be done with the fight, Sector Lord would have already died to the four Ancestors.

In the last couple of seconds, several Core Elders had died, but several Core Elders had also killed the people of the Heavenly Divine Sect. The surviving Core Elders started attacking the Formation Array with everything they got. Yes, the Formation Array was incredibly powerful, but it didn't have limitless Energy.

From the looks of things, the Sect Alliance would win based on the fact that their four Ancestors would win their fight. With those four free to do whatever they wanted, they would decimate the entire Heavenly Divine Sect.

BOOOOM!

Yet, there had been a third fight of monumental importance, and it had just ended.

Scilla, the Sect Master of the True Life Sect had lost to a level six Divine God.

No one would believe something like that if they didn't see it with their own eyes.

Scilla had run out of Life Energy, and she was close to dying. Her Energy reserves had also dried up, leaving her nearly helpless.

The fight had been so close, but the thought in the back of her mind that Gravis was decimating their Sect at this very moment had distracted her.

If it hadn't been for Gravis, she could have won!

She had been too hasty, which had resulted in her becoming impatient!

Sadly, there was nothing she could do.

Yet, suddenly, her eyes opened wide in shock, and in her eyes appeared one last glimmer of anger and revenge.

She had suddenly regained her connection with her Ancestor!

She didn't know why, but she was able to feel him!

Before Arc could kill her, she transmitted everything she had heard from the Core Elder to her Ancestor.

They had more powers hidden away, and the weakened Mortal Sect could also help them.

The Heavenly Divine Sect would also be weakened by the war. Because of that, winning against the Heavenly Divine Sect wasn't the most important thing right now. Even more, they could probably pay off the Heavenly Divine Sect with many territories.

If they lost, the Heavenly Divine Sect would become the hegemon amongst Peak Sects.

However, they would be able to survive.

Yet, if Gravis became more powerful, they would die!

Because of that, dealing with Gravis was way more important.

"Finally done?" Arc transmitted to Scilla with a smile.

Scilla looked with shock at Arc.

It was like Arc hadn't been surprised at all.

"Gravis should be done with his fight by now. I think it's better if he helps us out a bit by taking care of one of our enemies," Arc said. "Did you know that I'm the one that controls this Formation Array? Turns out, you need at least some form of the Law of the True World to control it. The Major version also works."

Scilla's eyes opened in shock.

SHING!

Yet, she died just an instant later.

Meanwhile, in Sector Lord's fight, the Ancestor of the True Life Sect suddenly looked forward in shock.

He quickly transmitted what he had just heard to the other three Ancestors, who also became shocked.

"The Calamity takes priority," the Ancestor of the True Life Sect said with a solemn voice as he took out an emblem.

The other three Ancestors nodded. "Sector Lord has already been weakened. We will deal with him on our own. Go! Deal with the Calamity!" one of them said.

The Ancestor of the True Life Sect activated an incredibly expensive emblem.

In fact, this emblem was unique.

This emblem had been bestowed to him by the former Ancestor of the True Life Sect.

Happy Springs.

Of course, Happy Springs was a Heaven's Magnate today, and she no longer was the Ancestor of the True Life Sect. However, she still had a warm spot in her heart for them. That was why she had given the Ancestor this emblem.

No Divine God could stop this emblem.

After all, it had been created by a Heaven's Magnate.

When the Ancestor of the True Life Sect crushed the emblem, he broke through the Formation Array and vanished.

An instant later, he appeared in the True Life Sect.

Meanwhile, Arc smiled calmly.

"I should help Sector Lord."

Chapter 1289 – Nearing the Peak

The Ancestor of the True Life Sect glared at Gravis with absolute hatred.

Gravis had killed their Core Plant. Even if he killed Gravis now, the True Life Sect would sooner or later fall from their status of being a Peak Sect.

The Core Plant was the very foundation of every Peak Sect. If a Peak Sect didn't have a Core Plant, another Core Plant from a different Peak Sect could simply stride into the Sect and take over the territory.

One should never forget that the Ancestors weren't the most powerful people of the Peak Sects but the Core Plants. The Core Plants just never fought openly since they weren't interested in fighting anymore.

Gravis had essentially killed the True Life Sect with that maneuver.

Gravis and Mortis saw the Ancestor of the True Life Sect and only smirked.

This was it.

This was the last battle before they could become Heaven's Magnates.

At the moment, Gravis was a level four Divine God, and a level nine Divine God was only six levels above him.

However, this fight might actually be harder than Gravis' fight with Cindy.

Cindy had known two level nine Laws.

The Ancestor?

Two level ten Laws and even more level nine Laws.

Gravis was 100% certain that the Ancestor knew the True Law of the Dead World and the True Law of Life, giving him the ability to push all the Elements to the power of a level ten Law.

The passive ability of Gravis' Star of Sentience was no longer enough, and he had to keep the ability active at all times.

This meant that Gravis would have to physically fight the Ancestor without any Laws. After all, if Gravis didn't keep his Law of Sentience going all the time, the Ancestor would be able to unleash absolutely terrifying attacks from a range.

From now on, Gravis could no longer fight seven levels. Even six levels might be a bit too much for him if he didn't counter his opponent perfectly.

However, that had been an inevitability.

The peak of the Divine God Realm was simply too vast. The weakest level nine Divine Gods were several levels away from the strongest level nine Divine Gods.

The peak of the Divine God Realm could almost be counted as its own Realm with how long people stayed there.

The bottleneck before the Heaven's Magnate Realm was simply too vast.

If one thought of the bottleneck before the Star God Realm to be severe, one wouldn't be able to handle the bottleneck before the Heaven's Magnate Realm.

Back then, an Immortal Emperor only needed to learn a level seven Law. Yes, that one level seven Law was also insanely difficult to comprehend, but it had only been one.

The person would need to learn at most five level six Laws before they could comprehend the level seven Law.

Yet, the peak of the Divine God Realm was absolutely insane. When compared to the bottleneck before the Star God Realm, one could say that a person would need to learn four specific level seven Laws, and these level seven Laws needed the most level six Laws to comprehend.

The Major Law of the Dead World would need four level six Laws and 36 level five Laws.

The Major Law of Life would need four level six Laws, and those four needed a lot of lower ranked Laws.

The Major Law of Emotions needed six level five Laws, making it the easiest. However, comprehending all of them was even harder than comprehending the Major Law of the Dead World.

The Major Law of Perceived Reality needed five level six Laws, and it was by far the hardest.

So, what did that come to?

13 level six Laws and over 50 level five Laws.

What did an Immortal Emperor need to reach the Star God Realm?

Not much. What about combining the level six Laws of Heat and Cold for the level seven Law of Temperatures? That would be two level six Laws.

Two level six Laws versus 13 level six Laws and over 50 level five Laws.

The difference was massive.

With all of this in mind, one could imagine how powerful the truly strong peak Divine Gods were.

Because of that, it became impossible for Gravis to jump seven levels again.

Gravis had worked again and again on his Battle-Strength, and he had been able to push himself to being able to jump seven levels.

But now, everything would catch up.

In Gravis' fight against the Core Elder, he had been at the peak of his Battle-Strength, relative to his Realm.

He would never be able to reach that stage again.

Gravis had already known that this would happen at one point, and now, the time came.

For the first time in Gravis' journey, his Battle-Strength had fallen in relation to his Realm.

Previously, he had been able to jump seven levels.

Now, he could only attempt to jump six.

And it would only get worse from here.

Soon, Mortis would become his own being, and the two of them wouldn't be able to share their tempering and their fights anymore, which would essentially half Gravis' Battle-Strength.

Another huge factor of Gravis' Battle-Strength had been that he had control over an insanely powerful form of lightning. Now, everyone had access to that form of lightning.

Gravis' Will-Aura would also reach the same level as his competitors soon.

Lastly, Gravis had always relied on his mastery over emotions and perceived reality. These two Laws had always been supremely rare.

Yet, as soon as Gravis reached the Heaven's Magnate Realm, everyone would know these Laws too, making them useless.

Gravis wouldn't be able to deactivate the Laws of his opponents anymore, and Samsara would also become useless.

Gravis was reaching the end, and this was the first time reality showed it.

However, not everything was doom and gloom. After all, Gravis still had access to three unique weapons not even the Heaven's Magnates had access to.

One, Gravis wasn't made of pure Energy but of Void Lightning. Due to him always fighting across his Realm, the changes of the Elements Gravis could create hadn't been relevant up to now, but if two people of the same power fought each other, that ability might prove to be the difference.

Two, the Major Law of Death. Gravis' opponents wouldn't be able to regenerate their bodies, which was an insanely powerful ability to have.

Three, Gravis could emulate the mental state of an Avatar of Death, allowing him to explode forward with unreasonable power and speed. Brutality was more powerful than any Law.

So, even though Gravis' Battle-Strength had seemingly regressed, he wouldn't become average, even amongst Heaven's Magnates.

One might think the current situation to be a frustrating one. After all, Gravis was no longer growing.

Yet, one could also look at the situation from a different angle.

When did someone stop growing?

When they had grown up.

Gravis had worked for 4.6 million years.

For 4.6 million years, Gravis had done nothing but work on his power.

Now, Gravis was finally closing in on the end, and his work was finally paying off.

Gravis was about to become the most powerful person in the Cosmos, except for the Heaven's Magnates and the two eternal existences.

Gravis looked with burning eyes at the Ancestor of the True Life Sect.

He was the last hindrance.

Chapter 1290 – Terrifying Existence

"Child of Heaven," Gravis said silently.

A great distance away, Child of Heaven was glancing toward Gravis.

"Please isolate everyone except us three. I have the ability to consume other beings to rise in Realm, and as long as that ability remains in play, I can't temper myself in the middle of another Sect. It's fine when I'm in the wild, but in here, that ability needs to be restrained," Gravis explained.

Child of Heaven had seen Gravis' abilities, and he knew that Gravis could do so.

"Fine," Child of Heaven answered Gravis.

WHOOM!

Space expanded to ridiculous degrees as an unfathomably powerful Formation Array appeared around the three of them.

No one would be able to leave from there.

The True Law of Perceived Reality also didn't have the ability.

The Ancestor noticed what had happened, and he narrowed his eyes. "You are that confident?" he asked.

"It's less about confidence and more that I have to do this," Gravis answered.

Then, Gravis and Mortis slowly took out their sabers.

BOOOOM!

Suddenly, the atmosphere around the two of them exploded with Laws.

The Ancestor's eyes opened wide in shock.

He knew that feeling!

This was the True Law of Life!

This level four Divine God even knew the True Law of Life!?

BOOOOM!

Then, the Ancestor's eyes opened even wider.

What was that!?

He had never felt this Law before!

Yet, this was the feeling of a level ten Law. He was sure of it!

The Ancestor had lived for a long time, and he had felt every possible kind of combination of level ten Laws.

The Law of the Dead World.

The Law of Life.

The Law of the Living World.

The Law of Emotions.

The Law of Complex Life.

The Law of the Complex Living World.

Yet, he had never felt that Law before.

However, the Ancestor was quickly able to extrapolate what kind of Law Gravis had comprehended.

Based on Gravis' ability to manipulate reality, everyone knew that Gravis knew the True Law of Perceived Reality.

On top of that, Gravis had been able to deactivate his opponents' Laws. The Ancestor was certain that the True Law of Perceived Reality couldn't do that. After all, that ability was just too powerful.

That could only mean that Gravis knew the True Law of Sentience.

Yet, Gravis had just comprehended another level ten Law after comprehending the True Law of Life.

That could only mean one thing.

Gravis had combined the True Law of Sentience with the True Law of Life, creating the True Law of Sentient Life.

With that Law, Gravis had control over everything that was alive.

It had already been incredibly hard to come to terms with the fact that some weak Divine God knew two level ten Laws, but three!?

Three was just ridiculous!

There were less than five Divine Gods that knew three level ten Laws, excluding the Core Plants. Inside the Peak Sects, only Sector Lord was on that level. The other Peak Divine Gods with such power didn't belong to any Peak Sect.

These Divine Gods fully concentrated on becoming Heaven's Magnates, and they were only missing the True Law of Perceived Reality. Staying inside a Sect didn't help them in comprehending that Law, which was why they stayed alone or with their families.

Yet, this level four Divine God had already reached the same level.

Even worse, he was only missing the easiest Law to become a Heaven's Magnate, the True Law of the Dead World!

He only needed to look at some Elements for a couple million years, and he would become a Heaven's Magnate!

That essentially only counted as waiting!

The Peak Sects had already put Gravis' potential and power on a ridiculous scale, but even that seemed to still not be enough!

At this very moment, the Ancestor realized that Gravis was far closer to them than he had ever dreamed to imagine.

Only a couple million years had passed, but Gravis had essentially already reached a level of power that made him absolutely unequaled in the Divine God Realm.

If Gravis had simply decided to raise his Realm by one more level, no one in the world could resist him!

The Ancestor realized that the only reason why he even had a chance in this battle right now was that Gravis wanted him to have a chance.

If Gravis wanted, he could become the strongest Cultivator in the world in less than an hour.

It was like the entire world was dancing on his fingers, and he was manipulating it.

The only time when Gravis hadn't been in control of the world had been in the Lightning Peak Sect when he had only been a level one Ancestral God.

But after escaping, all the Peak Sects had been in his hands.

Gravis had killed the Core Plant of the Lightning Peak Sect.

Then, the Lightning Peak Sect had been destroyed.

Then, Gravis had simply comprehended Laws for a long time without being disturbed.

After returning, Gravis had vanished again, and now, he had returned after killing another Core Plant!

The Peak Sects had been searching for him with all their power, but they hadn't been able to achieve anything.

It was almost like it didn't make a difference if they wanted to kill him or not.

When he wanted to fight, he fought.

When he didn't want to fight, no one could find him.

When he wanted to comprehend Laws, he comprehended Laws.

When he wanted to raise his level, he would raise his level.

For millions of years, even the weakest Elders had been able to snuff Gravis' existence out with a snort.

Yet, for millions of years, they hadn't been able to do so.

As all these thoughts shot through the Ancestor's head, he finally realized the true power of the Law of Perceived Reality.

Gravis knew the Law of Control and the Law of Freedom.

One could foresee what a person that knew the Law of Freedom would do. They would simply do whatever they wanted.

One could also foresee what a person that knew the Law of Control would do. They would simply manipulate their surroundings to further their own power.

Yet, one side didn't understand the other.

People knowing the Law of Freedom had difficulties in following the complex plans and stratagems of people with the Law of Control.

People knowing the Law of Control had difficulties in following the simplicity of people with the Law of Freedom. After all, they wouldn't even guess that someone would do something as stupid as just doing what one wanted when it wasn't appropriate.

Yet, when one knew both Laws, they knew everything.

At that point, plans and stratagems became worthless, making Gravis immune to all the intricate plans of the Peak Sects.

Gravis would also only need to step out of the way of someone that knew the Law of Freedom, which he had already demonstrated on Zero's Essence. Gravis could have gotten away even without revealing he was her brother.

For the first time, the Ancestor had truly realized what kind of existence they had planned to subdue.

He regretted thinking of Gravis as nothing but a tool.

BANG!

Suddenly, Gravis shot forward as Mortis vanished.

Sadly, there was no way to undo past decisions.

The Ancestor readied his weapons.

His Sect had made the choice, and it was his responsibility to rectify that mistake right now!

Gravis had to die!
