Ch. 1851..1860
Love At The Wrong Table Chapter 1851-Liana sneered with a cruel edge.
At thirty–five, she defied her age through rigorous martial arts training and meticulous self–care, appearing as a vibrant woman in her mid–twenties to everyone else. However, her smile only seemed to fuel Rhett’s irritation, deepening his frown with growing annoyance.
“Rhett Flynn, you’re nothing but a pitiful, pathetic, and despicable man!” she spat out, her voice laced with venom.
“I understand your hatred,” Rhett said with measured calm. “Our parents died young, leaving you deprived of a mother’s love. The Saintess was like a mother to you, showing you kindness and care. You admired her just as you would your own mother.”
Liana fell silent, her eyes cold and filled with bitter resentment.
“I never wanted her to leave the Airspace Group. Though I was her guardian.
it her power far exceeded my own. When she decided to go, I was powerless to stop her,” Rhett sighed deeply.
“Are you really just making excuses now? And you still have the nerve to call yourself Your Eminence?” Liana’s voice dripped with scorn.
“Whether you see my words as excuses or justifications doesn’t matter.” Rhett quickly regained his composure, his gaze resolute. “The past is the past, and I don’t owe you any more apologies.” Having shed his sense of guilt and indebtedness, he had come to terms with Emmanuel’s belief that the Saintess had left to seek her own freedom.
“Liana, every person deserves the right to choose their own path in life, rather than live by the expectations of others,” Rhett continued. “True happiness and joy come from within, not from relying on others.” “Enough!” She made a move suddenly.
Her movement was as swift as a streak of white light, arriving in an instant.
He barely had time to react before her palm struck him in the chest, sending him crashing to the ground with a bloody smear at the corner of his mouth.
“Liana, you’ve grown quite formidable!” Rhett coughed, blood spattering his lips, yet a faint smile remained.
As a brother, he felt a strange sense of pride in her growth.
“Don’t you dare smile!” Liana’s voice was seething with fury. “Do you know why I’ve become so strong? It’s all because of my hatred!” Rhett’s smile faded, replaced by a deep, troubled sigh.
Liana’s anger flared as she spoke. “You talk about happiness and joy as if they’re easily attainable. I was only six years old then–did you really expect a child to manage her own life? I had hoped to grow up with the Saintess !
admired, to be loved and cared for by her. But when she left so suddenly, the pain was overwhelming, and I felt deeply betrayed. Her cruelty and your neglect shaped who I am today. I despise all of you!”
The Weight of Hatred Rhett stayed silent, knowing well that Liana’s change started after the departure of the former Saintess. The once joyful child had been forged into a ruthless and unfeeling warrior through the brutal training of the Airspace Group.
Liana suddenly tore her clothes and lifted her long red dress, revealing a myriad of horrifying scars. “I was meant to be a little angel, bathed in holy light and nurtured with love. But because of the two of you, my world was shattered, and I was molded into who I am now!” “Rhett, do you know how much I’ve suffered over the years?” Liana’s voice trembled with raw emotion.
Rhett sighed and nodded. “I know. They took you to the Redback Assassins forr inhumane training. But that’s not all-” “No! You have no idea!” Liana interrupted angrily. “They twisted ordinary people into monsters, deviants, even zombies… and I was among them! With the immense power of the Flynn bloodline, my torment was far worse. They used cruel devices to shock and torment me, pushing me to the brink where The Weight of Hatred death seemed like a release. At times, I even tried to end my own life… He didn’t need her to explain further. He could imagine the horrors she had endured.
She bore many puncture marks, evidence of the technological instruments that had been driven into her body.
Love At The Wrong Table Chapter 1852-Thus, he loathed all techno–fighters, believing them to be abominations against humanity.
“Die, Rhett!” Liana roared as she launched another palm strike toward Rhett, her eyes filled with hateful fury. “It’s because of you and the Saintess that my life was ruined! I endured so much suffering because of you! I hate you both!
My hatred keeps me alive! Do you see that?” Boom!
This time, Rhett chose to meet his sister’s strike head–on. Their combined power was so overwhelming that the surrounding machinery began to emit piercing noises, unable to withstand the force.
“Liana, I know you despise me, but this has nothing to do with anyone else!” Rhett declared firmly. “Let the others leave the Dark Night Islands, and then you can settle things with me however you like!” “In your dreams!” Liana sneered coldly.
As they exchanged blows, he realized his sister was a martial arts prodigy.
Even without formal training, she was able to match him using their family’s ancestral techniques.
“That hypocritical Saintess abandoned me to live among mortals and even bore a daughter! Now that she’s dead, her daughter must suffer in her place!” Liana roared, her voice filled with anger. “I will never let her daughter find freedom!” Rhett felt a deep sense of disappointment. His sister had been consumed by hatred, transforming into a demon in her quest for vengeance.
Distracted by his thoughts, Rhett was struck three times by Liana in quick succession, forcing him to his knees as he coughed out blood.
“Ha ha… Despair, Rhett!” Liana laughed triumphantly. “None of you will escape Dark Night Islands!” Her voice echoed through the walls, causing the allied forces outside to lose hope. If even Rhett couldn’t defeat a single base defender, the chances of You All Are Nothing!
victory at other bases seemed impossible.
“Boring! This is just too boring!” On the third floor of the northern base, Night Fox stood alone, having easily defeated the fighters of the Alliance who had charged at him. Even the once mighty Vachon lay on the ground, his body covered in blood, unmoving, his fate uncertain.
The opportunists had already fled, leaving only Aqua standing. It wasn’t because she was strong, but because Night Fox saw her as weak and wasn’t bothered to deal with her.
Despite the dire situation, Quell, a commanding general, struggled to her feet again, her determination unshaken. She gritted her teeth and, even in the face of overwhelming odds, refused to give up.
With a fierce cry, she attacked Night Fox once more.
Those still conscious, like Albin and Solana, watched in despair. They knew Quell was throwing herself into a hopeless battle, her actions akin to a moth flying into a flame.
“Ha, you’re an interesting woman!” Night Fox sneered, his desire to conquer ignited by Quell’s defiance. He slapped her across the face, knocking her down, then grabbed her by the collar and lifted her up.
“I wonder how you’ll feel when you, so proud and dignified, are stripped bare for everyone to see?” His tone was half–lustful, half–deranged as he tore away the cloak draped across Quell’s chest.
“Wow!” The guards from the Airspace Group, watching from behind, grew excited at the sight of her body. Though Quell wasn’t as stunning as Mackenzie or Sarah, her figure was still exceptional, and her cold, aloof demeanor only fueled the men’s desire to conquer her.
“Let go of Quell, you beast!” Albin, on the verge of death, suddenly crawled toward them, his eyes filled with unyielding determination. But it was all in vain.
With a single slap!, Night Fox sent him sprawling to the ground.
“Pathetic ants, how boring you all are!” Night Fox said, his interest waning. He delivered another slap, this time to Quell’s rear, and mocked her. “And you call yourself the leader of the Black Wolf Team and the Alliance’s commanding general? The Black Wolf Team and Dark Night Islands have really fallen if someone like you is in charge!
“Weaklings like you have no right to live in this world! You want dignity and freedom, huh? Well, you’re all but nothing!
“You’ve disgraced me! I was once the leader of the Black Wolf Team–how could someone like you take over? Die!”
Love At The Wrong Table Chapter 1853-Night Fox’s fingers were poised to pierce Quell’s heart.
“I… I’m not the leader of the Black Wolf Team!” Quell’s gaze remained fearless as she coldly stated the fact, though she felt a pang of regret.
“You’re not?” Night Fox’s hand halted suddenly in front of her chest. “Hmph, you should consider yourself lucky!” Quell looked at him with eyes full of disdain. “Compared to the two leaders who came after you, you’re nothing!” “What?” The usually arrogant Night Fox finally showed a flash of anger in his eyes as he roared, “Who is the current leader of the Black Wolf Team? Bring him here, and I’ll kill him right in front of you!” Ptui! Aqua chimed in defiantly, “You twisted freak! If either Mr. Emmanuel or Mr. Xarri were here, you’d already be a dead man!” “What did you say?!” Night Fox’s gaze turned sinister, his eyes like poison darts The Return of the Dark Island King aimed at Aqua.
But she wasn’t at all afraid. She gritted her teeth as she said, “Mr. Emmanuel is leading the Alliance against the Queen. He doesn’t even see you as a threat!” “Shut your damn mouth!” Enraged, Night Fox suddenly hurled a hidden weapon at Aqua, intending to blow her head off.
Everyone was shocked. Solana and Quell couldn’t bear to witness Aqua’s impending death and turned away. But Aqua stood tall, unafraid, staring death in the face. Like the others, she had long been prepared to sacrifice her life for this battle. After witnessing the heroic death of her comrades, death no longer frightened her.
At the last second, a large hand caught the weapon in mid–air.
The man who saved Aqua examined the hidden weapon–it was a shell casing. He smiled slightly, realizing from this detail that the former Black Wolf Team leader truly enjoyed showing off. This guy wanted everyone to know The Return of the Dark Island King that the shell casing he flung by hand had ten times the power of a real bullet.
“S–sir! Is it really… really you?!” Aqua trembled as she looked at the man who saved her. The tears she held back even in the face of death now flowed freely.
Hearing her call him “sir,” Quell and Solana were both startled and quickly turned their gazes, wondering if Emmanuel had come from the central region to aid the north. But when they saw the man, they were both stunned.
Especially Quell, whose usually cold eyes turned red in an instant.
“I’m sorry, Quell! I’m late, and you’ve suffered because of it!” The man’s eyes darkened with anger. Seeing his sister humiliated in public ignited a fiery rage within him, yet he maintained the composure of a true leader.
Quell’s lips quivered; she couldn’t find the words to speak.
Instead, it was Vachon, lying on the ground severely injured, who suddenly roared as if he had come back to life, “Mr. Xarri! You’re finally back! Mr. Xarri!”
The Return of the Dark Island King “Mr. Xarri!” Solana joined in the shout.
“Mr. Xarri!” The surviving fighters of the Alliance all echoed, their faces filled with excitement.
No one expected that at the final moment, the strongest king of the Dark Night Islands would finally return.
“Mr. Xarri, you must defeat this former Black Wolf Team leader and avenge Quell and all of us!” Aqua angrily pointed at Night Fox, her eyes filled with anticipation.
Xarri nodded and began to walk slowly toward Night Fox.
計 “Well, well, not bad!” Night Fox sneered. “I can sense the kingly aura in you that these weaklings lack. Perhaps you can finally bring me some real fun!” Like Xarri, Night Fox had once been chosen as the top assassin candidate by the Queen of the Dark Night Islands, but for various reasons, he had been cast aside. Xarri had been brought into the Black Wolf Team only after Night The Return of the Dark Island King Fox had left, so the two had never met–similar to how Emmanuel had been Introduced later.
But Xarri didn’t dignify Night Fox’s words with a response. He continued to approach, his tone icy and deliberate, “Release my sister, or I will ensure your bones are ground to dust!” His words sent a chill down Night Fox’s spine, and even the fighters of the Alliance were secretly alarmed. They had never seen Xarri so enraged–he was clearly furious this time!
“Huh, you talk big!” Night Fox sneered again and unleashed another hidden weapon–this time, it was the Seven–Star Chain.
“Watch out!”
Love At The Wrong Table Chapter 1854-Solana and the others gasped instinctively.
However, the members of the Black Wolf Team remained silent and showed no concern for their leader, for worrying about a king was laughable.
Xarri’s form shifted, appearing to dodge the incoming projectiles while actually catching them with his hands, suddenly preparing to counterattack.
Night Fox, having anticipated this, smugly used Quell’s body as a shield in front of him. But to his surprise, Xarri’s projectiles were aimed at the Airspace guards behind him, taking out an enemy with each shell.
The screams disrupted Night Fox’s rhythm, and before he could react to the powerful presence approaching, Xarri was already in front of him.
With two swift jabs of his fingers through the air… Thud! Thud!
The Tide Turns Night Fox, though untouched, felt two sharp pains in his body. If not for his extraordinary combat instincts, he would have been hit in his vital points and ended up dead.
“Die!” For Xarri, to shout out loud was a rare occurrence, revealing the depth of his anger.
Appalled, Night Fox immediately released Quell and shifted all his focus to defending against Xarri’s attacks. But the instant he let go, he realized he had been outsmarted.
Xarri swiftly pulled his sister back and, with a single strike, forced Night Fox to retreat.
In just a brief exchange, Night Fox, who had been holding a hostage, found himself being pushed back and left in a pitiful state by Xarri. The injured Alliance fighters erupted in excitement, their morale soaring as they stood back up.
“Hmph, do you see the true might of the Black Wolf Team’s leader now?” Aqua sneered with her arms akimbo. “And just so you know, we have a new leader who’s ten times stronger than you!” “That’s right!” “You’re the weakest Black Wolf Team leader we’ve ever seen!” “No wonder you were forgotten so quickly!” Everyone joined in, returning all the arrogance and mockery the Black Wolf Team had received earlier. It was as if the frustration in their hearts had been instantly vented, bringing them immense satisfaction.
Meanwhile, Night Fox, furious and humiliated, barked orders, “Fire! Kill them all!” The Airspace guards behind him finally reacted. But before they could act, the remnants of the Alliance fighters from downstairs stormed up.
Seeing that, Quell finally understood why her brother had arrived late, The Tide Turns exclaiming in surprise, “So you were downstairs helping to kill the enemy, Xarri!”
Without an elite expert leading the charge, the remaining Alliance fighters would never have made it upstairs.
“Quell, I’m leaving this place to you!” With chaos all around, Xarri knew it wasn’t the time for a reunion. After draping his coat over his sister, he turned his attention back onto Night Fox.
Night Fox shuddered slightly, but he didn’t cower before Xarri and instead sneered coldly, “You’re impressive; certainly worthy of a duel with me. If you’re not a coward, come in!” With that, he retreated into his special room.
“Xarri, make sure you kill him and press the dock switch by 6 p.m. sharp!” Quell shouted as she fought off enemies.
“Understood!” However, Xarri didn’t rush in immediately. Instead, he cleared out the The Tide Turns remaining enemies with the others, ensuring a safe environment for his comrades before he would confront Night Fox.
There were still nearly four hours until 6 p.m., and Xarri knew his battle with Night Fox, regardless of the outcome, would not take that long.
This battle had reached a critical point for the Alliance. Victory couldn’t be secured by dominating just one front–they had to win on all five to achieve the final victory. On the other hand, the Airspace Group’s defenders only needed to hold one point and wait for reinforcements to arrive to claim victory! The conditions for victory were starkly unequal.
“Did you see that?” In the central tower of the island, Emmanuel and the Queen of the Dark Night Islands remained in a standoff.
The Wolf Warrior rarely killed women unless they were enemy operatives or irredeemably evil. Freya certainly fell into the latter category. However, because she and Hattie looked nearly identical, he had momentarily paused The Tide Turns when the screen in the room displayed the thrilling battle scene from the northern region. In fact, the two watched in silence as Xarri turned the tide of the battle.
It was intense and spectacular, reminiscent of the return of a legendary hero to save the day.
“I believe victory will be ours!” Emmanuel declared with renewed conviction.
“I’ll kill you now and find the button to activate the dock!”
Love At The Wrong Table Chapter 1855-Freya scoffed, “Do you really think securing the northern region guarantees victory? And do you believe the other regions can win as well?” Her gaze remained confident as she coldly sneered, “Have you ever considered the possibility that this is all part of a game I orchestrated? Even the fact that you’re currently gaining the upper hand was something I planned.” Emmanuel frowned. He didn’t believe her and was determined to prove it by choking the life out of Freya.
He knew he couldn’t afford any more pity. But in the next moment, he felt a searing heat in his hands. An ordinary person would instinctively let go when burned, but Emmanuel’s strong willpower made him tighten his grip.
Suddenly, Freya’s hands grasped his wrists, her strength surpassing his, and her touch carried a burning effect.
“How… How is this possible?” Emmanuel was shocked. Seeing that he couldn’t strangle her, he reluctantly released his grip and desperately pulled away.
Cough, cough… Although she managed to push back the Wolf Warrior, the Queen of the Dark Night Islands was in a bad state herself, coughing violently. She had nearly blacked out moments ago, but her strong will kept her conscious.
After catching her breath, she looked up at Emmanuel and sneered, “Scarlet must have told you, right? This is my domain, and my power grows stronger as time passes.” Emmanuel was secretly alarmed. Glancing at a strange device in the room, he curiously asked, “Is it powered by the high–tech instruments on the fifth floor?” “That’s right,” Freya admitted openly. “Sarah probably mentioned it to you- the Holy Trinity began experimenting with the Heart of the Sun thirty years.
Emmanuel nodded. “Yes, but the Heart of the Sun shouldn’t be in your organization’s hands. So what are you using to draw power?” “This only proves how little you understand about power!” Freya mocked, spreading her hands. “There are actually two Sun Stones, and the one we’ve been experimenting with all this time is the Yang Sun Stone.” Emmanuel’s eyes widened in shock as realization struck him.
Freya saw his reaction and laughed. “Finally figured it out, haven’t you? Took you long enough.” She sat down slowly, knowing she had the luxury of time.
“Was it Agargar Zamora?” Emmanuel pieced together the events and gritted his teeth. “So the Airspace Group already knew the location of the Quillen family’s Sun Stone. They even swapped it out at the Templar Valor tomb through Agargar Zamora and retrieved the Yang Sun Stone long ago!” “Smart, Freya praised him. “Did you really think an organization as powerful as ours, with hundreds of thousands of members, dozens of military bases, and assets worth trillions, would struggle to take the Quillen family’s Emmanuel suddenly realized the full extent of it, and a chill ran down his spine.
“Everything we’ve done so far, including sending the fake Saintess to Yeringham to steal the Heart of the Sun, was just a ruse to deceive those who sought it. In reality, the Yang Heart of the Sun has always been with the Airspace Group,” Freya revealed the truth.
Emmanuel smiled bitterly. He had underestimated the Holy Trinity and overestimated himself. They had the power to overthrow nations–why would they struggle with something as minor as taking the Quillen family’s Sun Stone? Did he really think that, as the Wolf Warrior operating at seventy percent power, he could protect such a vital asset?
“It seems you’ve finally figured it out. I shall not mock you any future. After all, the Sun Stone always belonged to the Airspace Group; there’s nothing to brag about,” Freya said, turning serious as she looked at Emmanuel. “Now, I’ll give you one last chance. Will you join the Airspace Group and become a
powerful ally in our quest for world domination?” Without waiting for Emmanuel’s response, Freya stood up and passionately declared, “Our financial and military strength far surpasses that of many nations. All we need now is an opportunity to spark a world war and seize land to establish our own country.
“Then, we will continue to grow our power while gradually undermining Chanaea’s authority, eventually staging a coup to take control of the country.
“Chanaea has existed for thousands of years, being the wisest and most powerful nation in the world. Once we control it, we’ll quickly become the dominant force on this planet!
“At that point, everyone will have to bow to us. We can even openly use the Sun Stone to research longevity, and perhaps even immortality, as we seek eternal life…”
Love At The Wrong Table Chapter 1856-Seeing the greedy and obsessive look in her eyes, Emmanuel realized that this woman wasn’t just trying to incite his greed to lure him into joining the Airspace Group. It seemed more like she was painting a picture of her own dream, a blueprint of what she envisioned. Her eyes were glowing–she truly believed that day would come.
Whoosh!
Emmanuel didn’t waste any time and launched an attack with his fists, making his intentions clear. He couldn’t allow Freya to keep stalling for time.
Dragon–Breaking Palm, Twelfth Strike!
Now, Emmanuel could unleash sixteen of the Dragon–Breaking Palm strikes, with only the final strike eluding him. The Twelfth Strike was powerful enough to shatter mountains and split rocks, and anyone who could withstand it had to be at the level of a war god. However, despite having suffered a heavy blow earlier, Freya confronted him head–on again.
The Power of the Sun Stone Their palms collided with a loud snap, but the result was entirely different from before. Emmanuel was completely overpowered in terms of strength.
The immense recoil sent him flying backward, crashing through the sturdy wall behind him, blood spurting from his mouth. In contrast, Freya, though physically weaker, only staggered back into a chair, relatively unscathed.
With her hands behind her, she greedily absorbed the power transmitted from the Heart of the Sun through the device, and after recovering, she smirked with satisfaction. “Emmanuel, are you surprised? Didn’t see that coming, did you?” Emmanuel remained silent, quickly working to regulate his breath. He never imagined that his move could be so easily countered.
“Do you know why I had Yasmine go to such lengths to lure you here? It’s because we’ve studied your physical attributes–you’re a one–in–a–million ultimate Airspace fighter.” Freya continued her temptation. “If you agree to serve the Airspace Group, I can grant you the power of the Heart of the Sun. Your strength would be ten, even a hundred times greater than at your peak! There will be no one in the world you can’t kill, nothing you can’t destroy.
it would become the Holy Trinity’s ultimate weapon, the key to establishing our holy nation, forever remembered in history!” “I’d be d*mned to believe you!” Emmanuel cut off her near–manic ravings coldly, scornfully asking, “Do you even realize how many people would die in such a war? How many would be displaced and left to wander?” These questions left the Queen silent, her demeanor shifting from anger to growing impatience.
“The Holy Trinity might seem progressive, but in reality, you’re clinging to the laughable idea of feudal monarchy! What era do you think this is?” Emmanuel mocked. “Since the advent of nuclear weapons, there’s no longer any winner in war. Once conflict erupts, it will only lead to mutual destruction.” “What do you know?” Freya snapped back, her anger boiling over. “Do you really think nuclear weapons are so easily deployed? With the Heart of the Sun, we can cultivate countless assassins with unimaginable power. Those who submit to us will thrive, and those who resist will perish. We can secretly control every nation, destroy all their technology-”
“Enough!” Emmanuel cut her off sharply. “I didn’t come here to debate with you. I came to defeat you, destroy your plans, and restore everyone’s freedom!” With a thunderous roar, Emmanuel unleashed another strike–the Dragon–Breaking Palm, Thirteenth Strike!
Even Yasmine couldn’t help but admire Emmanuel. Normal people grew weaker as they sustained injuries, but this man was the exact opposite–the more blood he lost, the more terrifying his power became. Unfortunately, this was Freya’s domain. As long as the secret lab on the fifth floor remained intact, she could absorb an endless supply of power. No matter how many times Emmanuel attacked, the result would be the same.
Bam!
The two clashed fiercely again, and Emmanuel was once again sent flying, the backlash growing stronger as his power intensified.
Lying on the ground, Emmanuel coughed up several mouthfuls of blood. His The Power of the Sun Stone internal organs were severely shaken, and he was gravely injured. His vision began to blur, and his eyes dimmed, but his strong will kept him conscious.
He knew now that his strategy was completely wrong.
In the beginning, Freya had engaged in hand–to–hand combat with him, not because she was a skilled fighter but because her combat abilities were actually quite low. That first clash wasn’t an intentional deception on her part; it was an unintentional mistake that had led Emmanuel to believe he could suppress her with the Dragon–Breaking Palm.
Love At The Wrong Table Chapter 1857-Emmanuel realized that his earlier misjudgment in tactics had led him to a precarious situation. Even if he wanted to change strategies now, it might be too late.
“Emmanuel, you’re finished!” Freya, despite her average combat skills, was no fool. She knew Emmanuel was a formidable force, and she wasn’t going to give him any chance to catch his breath.
“I’ll first break your limbs. Once I’ve remade you, I’ll restore them later.” The Dark Night Islands existed primarily to create the world’s most formidable assassins. If she could capture both Emmanuel and Mackenzie, the island would have fulfilled its historical mission, even if everyone else died. The Holy Trinity would still praise her for her achievements, outweighing any mistakes Freya wanted to test the limits of the Wolf Warrior and see how his strength compared to the power of the Heart of the Sun. That was why she had allowed the Alliance to form. Fortunately, everything was still under her control.
The Battle Within the Tower By now, the Alliance had taken over all parts of the central tower except for the third level, where Yasmine and a group of fighters had fortified their defenses. However, they were growing increasingly anxious as they could not breach the sixth floor, and Emmanuel had yet to emerge. With communication cut off at multiple levels, the Alliance grew increasingly restless, and morale began to decline.
Yasmine was well aware of that, and in a secret chamber on the third floor, she sneered, “Just over three hours left! None of these rebels will escape!” Agargar, Lonny, and the other top fighters had also calmed down. Every passing second worked in their favor, and they believed that Emmanuel stood no chance against Freya, especially not within this tower.
“Your Holiness, this is as far as I can take you,” Scarlet said as she helped Mackenzie down from her horse at the entrance to the tower.
Mackenzie understood Scarlet’s stance. Although Scarlet wasn’t her enemy, neither was she an ally. Scarlet had her own beliefs and values, making her a lone wolf, difficult to control. The fact that she had helped the Alliance this The Battle Within the Tower much was already a significant gesture,
As Scarlet rode off into the distance, Mackenzie took a deep breath, her resolve unshaken, and stepped into the tower, where the flames of battle still burned fiercely.
“Who’s there?” A voice called out as soon as Mackenzie entered the tower, and she found herself staring down the barrel of a gun.
The situation inside was dire, with heavy casualties, and the Alliance was on high alert, ready to shoot at any perceived threat.
“Hey, hey, don’t shoot! Please, don’t shoot!” A man suddenly appeared out of nowhere, jumping in front of Mackenzie with his hands raised, grinning, “Don’t do it, for my sake! Look at my ugly mug, don’t shoot!” “Get lost!” Bella, from the Doggo Team, emerged from the Alliance ranks and coldly dismissed the man. “Who do you think you are? You think anyone cares about your ugly face?” The Battle Within the Tower “Hey, ugly as it may be, it’s useful! A man’s gotta have substance!” the man chuckled.
“Blake, step aside! They’ll recognize me, and they won’t shoot,” Mackenzie intervened.
“I wouldn’t be so confident. There could be traitors among them…” Blake remained cautious, scanning the surroundings. He knew how vital the Saintess was. If anything happened to her, the outcome of the war would be unpredictable.
“Salute to the Commander–in–Chief’s wife!” Bella was the first to kneel, followed by the entire room.
“Get up, everyone! What kind of outdated etiquette is this? It’s unnecessary!” Mackenzie said with a wry smile. In Yeringham, she had been highly regarded, but no one had ever knelt before her.
Just then, a gunshot rang out from a hidden spot.
The Battle Within the Tower “Watch out!” Blake, ever vigilant, threw himself in front of Mackenzie.
Clang!
The Golden Bell shield protected them, deflecting the bullet.
“Damn it, that hurt!” Blake grumbled, wanting to leap forward and take down the assailant. However, the lingering injury from his fight with Yosef caused a sudden pain in his leg, making it impossible to jump as high as he wanted.
Sighing, he decided against it.
Bang!
Bella’s sharp shooting took down the traitor who had attempted to assassinate the Saintess.
“Dagnabbit, we should have taken him alive!”
Love At The Wrong Table Chapter 1858-Blake hobbled over, irritated, and tore the clothes from the fallen attacker.
Sure enough, it bore the Holy Fire organization’s insignia.
“Quick, protect Madam!” Bella ordered her trusted followers to encircle Mackenzie.
Surviving the attack, Mackenzie furrowed her brows, deep in thought.
“You shouldn’t have come here, Ms. Quillen. You should know that someone’s/ trying to kill you,” Blake said as he limped back.
“Thank you, Blake.” Mackenzie expressed her gratitude, then curiously asked, “How did you know someone wanted to kill me?” “Heh, some things are best left unsaid! As long as they fail to kill you, that’s all that matters!” Blake kept his information vague.
Meanwhile, in a room on the third floor, many were sweating nervously upon seeing Airspace Group guards mingling with the Alliance and even shooting The Unfolding Conspiracy at the Saintess. The uncertainty about who orchestrated this left everyone puzzled.
Agargar noticed Yasmine’s gloomy expression, but she soon feigned panic along with everyone else.
“Ms. Morgan, I need to discuss something with you!” Agargar took Yasmine aside.
“What is it, Mr. Zamora?” “Ms. Morgan, did you arrange for someone to assassinate Her Holiness?” Agargar asked quietly.
Yasmine shivered slightly and scolded, “What nonsense are you spouting? Do you not understand how important Her Holiness is to us? Attempting harm the Saintess is a treasonous crime!” “But I recognize that guard!” Agargar was not easily swayed. “He should be one of your confidants!”
The Unfolding Conspiracy Yasmine denied it vehemently, “I don’t know what you’re talking about. I went through great trouble to bring the Saintess here from the outside world. How could I possibly want to kill her? Don’t slander me!” “Under normal circumstances, I wouldn’t believe you would kill her either, but this is an exceptional moment.” Agargar, skilled both in combat and strategy,
guessed Yasmine’s intentions. He had even been the one to bring the Yang Heart of the Sun to the organization, so he had insight into her plans.
Yasmine fell silent.
Agargar continued, “Ms. Morgan, you are a woman of great wisdom and vision. You have always worried that Emmanuel would lead everyone, including the Saintess, away. That’s why you’ve been making contingency plans! The person who poisoned the Ophanim Clan and the Black Wolf Team was also you, wasn’t it?” Yasmine’s eyes showed a slight waver, though she did not react strongly.
“You have always tried to prevent Emmanuel from reaching the top of the Dark Night Islands, uniting all factions, and even resorted to underhanded tactics, including attacking Emmanuel during the finals!” Agargar sighed, “If Emmanuel had not reached the top of the Dark Night Islands, we wouldn’t be in this situation today. Ms. Morgan, you truly have great foresight!” His tone grew increasingly respectful, clearly acknowledging Yasmine’s actions and her loyalty to the Airspace Group.
“At this point, discussing it is meaningless!” Yasmine’s expression turned cold, sensing Agargar was aligned with her.
“Indeed, fate often defies our plans. No one could have predicted Emmanuel would actually reach the top of the Dark Night Islands and form the Alliance, bringing the situation to this extent!” Agargar expressed his admiration. “And I didn’t expect you to have already planned ahead. If I were in your position, L would have done the same–eliminate the Saintess! Because if she die, no one on this island could defeat the Queen!” Yasmine coldly smiled at Agargar. The wise were often lonely. Many of her decisions were not supported even by her sister, Freya, which left her feeling The Unfolding Conspiracy helpless. Agargar’s understanding provided her with some solace.
“You guessed that Scarlet would bring the Saintess to the tower, didn’t you?
Without the Saintess‘ help, even if Emmanuel is the Northern Region War God, he wouldn’t be able to defeat the Queen!” Agargar said with certainty, fully aware of the terrifying power of the Heart of the Sun, which surpassed human strength.
“Exactly!” Yasmine acknowledged Agargar’s insight without further games. “I saw through Scarlet’s intentions early on. At this point, only the death of the Saintess can stabilize the situation completely. As long as the Saintess is alive, we might still face unforeseen complications!”
Love At The Wrong Table Chapter 1859-Yasmine’s countenance turned darker by the second; she even ground her teeth. “Emmanuel truly is a miracle worker, and all his miraculous power comes from his wife! At this point, the only option is to quietly eliminate her!” Agargar nodded and replied softly, “Rest assured, Ms. Morgan. I will fight alongside you!” Yasmine looked at him in surprise, a faint smile on her lips. “And why would you do that?” “Because I want to live too,” Agargar replied. “If Emmanuel and the Alliance win, we might all be wiped out! As long as the Saintess doesn’t reach the fifth floor, no one can defeat the Queen, and Emmanuel will surely die at the top.
Yasmine continued to scrutinize him, skeptical of his words, but she agreed, “Alright, we shall join forces and act secretly. We absolutely cannot let the Saintess reach the fifth floor!” On the first floor of the tower, Bella shouted, “Everyone, take off your outerThe Final Push garments! If you find any Holy Fire insignia, kill them on the spot!” 3 “Report! We’ve found one!” A soldier from the Alliance suddenly shouted.
Bang! Bang!
Gunshots rang out almost immediately. The Airspace Group infiltrator fired first, and they attempted to flee after killing someone.
Suddenly… Snap!
He was shot in the head by a shell casing.
Bella looked at Blake with surprise. “You’re quite impressive for someone so ugly!” Blake sized her up with a grin. “And you have quite the figure, but lucky for you, I’m even better in some areas. Want to see for yourself? Let me show you what it really means to experience a full day’s worth of passion.” The Final Push “Shut up, you shameless pervert!” Blake wasn’t offended. During his work helping fallen women, he encountered similar insults, including from undercover female officers. He was used to such reprimands and found them more pleasant than music.
“Let’s go! I need you all to cover me as I head to the fifth floor!” After clearing the traitors, Mackenzie gave her orders to Bella and the others.
“What?” Everyone was taken aback.
Bella urgently advised, “Your Holiness, you mustn’t! The Alliance hasn’t completely taken control of this tower. The enemies on the third floor are still resisting. With your condition, you can’t risk heading up!” “That’s right!” Others echoed. “There are people within the Airspace Group who want to kill you!” “No! I must go up!” Mackenzie’s gaze was resolute. “I need to fight alongside Emmanuel and secure victory in this war! Scarlet said Emmanuel needs my The Final Push help! I have to reach the fifth floor!”
“But…” Bella and the others were at a loss, given that Mackenzie was both the commander–in–chief’s wife and the Saintess.
“Heh, go ahead!” Blake grinned. “It’s the grand finale today, and it’s time for me to have my moment in the spotlight! Otherwise, you might think I’m just here for show!” Mackenzie smiled slightly. “Please clear the way for me then.” “I…” Blake had only thought about delivering the final blow, not about being a human shield.
“Thank you! After the victory, I’ll definitely tell Emmanuel and everyone that you were the key figure in this war!” Mackenzie, knowing Blake’s character, quickly adopted a conciliatory approach.
Blake sighed deeply, resigned to being the vanguard.
Mackenzie carefully ascended, her heart heavy upon seeing the bodies and The Final Push blood. It was hard to believe she was still experiencing such a war after being on Dark Night Islands for a month. It felt like a different world, a parallel reality.
Yet, she knew it was still the same world, with her family outside still waiting for her return. She had to stay strong and help Emmanuel win this battle.
Passing through the second floor without incident, she finally reached the third floor. Hearing no immediate commotion, Blake and Bella were somewhat reassured, thinking the situation was under control. However, as soon as Mackenzie stepped onto the third floor, the Airspace Group guards, hiding in a fortification room, suddenly began firing at the outside.
Thud, thud, thud!
Many from the Alliance fell instantly.
“Open fire!”
Love At The Wrong Table Chapter 1860-“Counterattack the enemy! Protect the Commander–in–Chief’s wife!” 92%
In an instant, the previously calm battlefield erupted into chaos once more.
計 To everyone’s surprise, the Airspace Group no longer stayed in a defensive position; they suddenly launched a collective attack. Agargar and Lonny led the charge, taking out numerous Alliance fighters. Their clear goal was to kill anyone attempting to ascend the tower. As for killing the Saintess, they planned to report it as a mistake.
“Damn it!” Blake, who knew his sister Yasmine best, realized she must have made this risky decision to prevent Mackenzie from advancing up the tower.
After cursing, he ordered Bella, “Cover Mackenzie and get her up there. I’ll hold them off with the others!” Just as he finished speaking, Agargar’s Templar Palm struck right in front of him.
Bang! Bang!
The Clash Intensifies The strikes landed on Blake, making a metallic clang.
Blake staggered but managed to steady himself, grinning through the pain.
“Sht! Your Templar Palm is way better than that dmn Templar Valor sect master’s!” “Oh? You know my useless brother, Alfwhit?” Agargar showed interest.
“Haha, I almost forgot his name until you mentioned it!” Blake taunted. “If your brother is so useless, you must be no better, right? I don’t want to humiliate you, so get back to hiding with my sister?” “Unfortunately, I want to humiliate you!” Agargar said, his gaze turning menacing. He unleashed another Templar Palm.
Blake couldn’t afford to take the hit head–on. Even though his skills were inferior, he threw all his strength into a powerful Iron Titan Strike to counter.
Slap, slap, slap!
The Clash Intensifies Blake took several more hits and was thrown to the ground, bleeding from his mouth. Although Agargar also suffered some backlash, he was clearly in much better shape than Blake.
“Blake!” Mackenzie, halfway up the staircase, couldn’t help but look back, her heart aching.
“Go! Don’t worry about me!” Blake struggled to stand up again, spitting out blood. “F*ck, this Templar Palm is tough. It’s like hitting an iron wall!” “Your Golden Bell is impressive too. If it were anyone else, they would have been reduced to rubble by now!” Agargar genuinely praised. But his gaze turned deadly serious. “Unfortunately, no one can stop me from killing today!
Not even if you’re Ms. Morgan’s brother!” Whoosh!
Another Templar Palm struck out.
Blake could barely catch his breath and thought this might be the end. At The Clash Intensifies crucial moment, a blue figure attacked Agargar from the side, interrupting his assault.
“Trisha!” Mackenzie sighed in relief, a grateful smile spreading across her face. Eventually, Sarah’s close friend helped the Alliance.
#t “Get up there quickly! The Heart of the Sun is in Lab 19 on the fifth floor, inside that mysterious device!” Trisha shouted at Mackenzie. “Only your bloodline can withstand the power of the Heart of the Sun. Retrieve it, and the Queen will be finished!” Mackenzie nodded, gritting her teeth and quickly moving up.
She knew what Lab 19 meant; the code number for the sun was 19–the Heart of the Sun must be hidden there.
“Madam, I’ll help you!” Bella grabbed Mackenzie and pulled her up. It was quite a strain for a heavily pregnant woman to climb stairs at such speed.
“Hurry! We can’t let anyone sabotage the Heart of the Sun’s energy device!” Yasmine also emerged from the fortress room, shouting, “Victory is the only The Clash Intensifies option; failure is not allowed! Any sacrifice is worth it!” Instantly, the battle on the third floor grew even fiercer. Although the Alliance had a numerical advantage, they were at a significant disadvantage in martial prowess. Survival became a matter of luck.
Yasmine, for the first time risking her life, ran to the staircase to pursue Mackenzie, only to have her calf suddenly grabbed.
“D*mn it!” Yasmine raised her gun to shoot the attacker but stopped when she saw his prominent overbite and strikingly defiant smile.
“Heh, Yasmine! Switch sides!” Blake grinned, staring at the gun’s muzzle.
“What’s the point of forcing others to work? The world is much better when it’s voluntary!”
