Ch. 1881..1890
Love At The Wrong Table Chapter 1881-“Yes, Mr. Teddy!” After ending the call, Teddy instantly dialed another number.
On the other end, Levi answered promptly, “Mr. Teddy, what are your orders?” “We can’t let the Wolf Warrior return and operate as he pleases. Let’s burn down his territory first! Without a base, he’ll be like a wandering spirit, unable to pose a threat to our forthcoming great plan!” After giving his orders, Teddy hung up the phone, his expression turning somewhat menacing.
“Teddy, are you still awake?” His demeanor shifted instantly when he heard the concerned voice. With a cheerful smile, he called out, “Catherine I’m coming !”
Overwhelmed by Attention Elsewhere in Yeringham, in the morning, Alessandra and Tia arrived at the Quillen residence in a Rolls–Royce. Alessandra had scheduled a meeting with Terence to discuss some important matters.
Since Terence took over as the Chairman of Nuthana Chamber of Commerce, the Quillen family had truly become the undisputed ruler of Nuthana. This old fox had returned to the fray, elevating all four of his daughters to key roles within the Chamber of Commerce and rapidly promoting his subordinates. In just over a month, the Quillen family had soared to the peak of power in Nuthana.
Even the commercial hub of Nuthana was beginning to shift from Aberdeen to Yeringham. At this pace, it seemed inevitable that the provincial capital would eventually follow suit.
When Tia helped Alessandra out of the car, she was taken aback to find that the Quillen residence was packed with prominent figures, even from the parking lot! They were all dressed in sharp formal wear, projecting an aura of authority and sophistication. Seeing such a sight, both of them felt a bit overwhelmed as one was from the rural area while the other had been a Overwhelmed by Attention kindergarten teacher. Neither of them had ever encountered anything like this before.
They felt like ducks among swans, afraid of being looked down upon. Even though their attire had changed significantly, it still fell far short when compared to the sophistication of those around them.
“Ms. Franks?” Suddenly, a middle–aged man dressed in a high–end suit and polished leather shoes called out to Tia.
“Who are you?” Tia asked instinctively, her expression a bit fearful. She was like someone from a small town meeting a city scion!
The middle–aged man eagerly introduced himself. “Ms. Franks, you must have forgotten me! I’m the father of Kevin Davis, the CEO of Five Elements Pharma!” “Oh, of course! Mr. Davis!” Tía suddenly remembered–back in kindergarten, Kevin was the only child who was dropped off in a sleek, high–end Porsche Panamera. She recalled Overwhelmed by Attention how the teachers couldn’t help but gossip about Kevin’s father at that time!
Who would have thought I’d run into him here today?
Even more surprising was that he was addressing her with such respect. “Ms.
Franks, is this your mother–in–law?” My mother–in–law!
She was taken aback by the unexpected attention but nodded in acknowledgment. Before she knew it, the crowd erupted!
Before Kevin’s father could even begin to flatter Alessandra, the other distinguished guests around them immediately started showering the older woman with compliments!
“Oh, so you’re Mr. Lowe’s mother? What an honor to meet you!” “I’m Steve Nelson, Vice President of Deerfield Holdings. Just call me Steve!” “I am James Mitchell, the CEO of Vava Group. I’d like to offer you 1.5 million as Overwhelmed by Attention it a gesture of goodwill, hoping to be friends with you. In the future, I’ll be at your service-” The flattery continued… These prominent figures were outdoing each other with extravagant flattery and deference, leaving both Tia and Alessandra quite stunned! Especially Tia, who had never imagined in her wildest dreams that she would find herself in such a position. What had she done to deserve this?
Nothing at all–I had merely married the straightforward Ryder!
“What are you all doing? Don’t make a commotion in the Quillen residence like this, or I’ll have you all thrown out. Got it?” Fortunately, at that moment, a distinguished woman emerged. She was accompanied by the residence’s head of security, Logan Collins, and two squads of formidable professional bodyguards.
They swiftly dispersed the crowd and ‘rescued‘ the startled Alessandra and Overwhelmed by Attention Tia!
“Oh, it’s Ms. Lenoir!” Seeing Felicity, Alessandra immediately approached with warmth and enthusiasm.
The previously aloof Felicity was now much friendlier and welcoming. She gently took Alessandra’s arm and said, “Ms. Alessandra, don’t worry about these people. Just let them wait. They’re all here to make connections!” She led Alessandra and Tia into the mansion.
Once inside, Tia felt a significant sense of peace and quiet.
Love At The Wrong Table Chapter 1882-At the surface, it looked as if the Quillen family had gained significant prestige, considering how every entrepreneur in Nuthana was willing to go as for as to rub shoulders with them.
Ms. Cadigan, Old Mt. Quillen had to deal with some emergency matters. He should be back later, so in the meantime, allow me to accompany you!” Feico’s antude toward Mrs. Lowe–that would be Mackenzie’s moter–in–low–had transformed completely. Previously, she did not fully accept Emmanuel while Mackenzie did not see her as a maternal figure ether. Now, everything had changed.
She was delighted with how her son–in–law was, and with Mackenzie expecting their child, both families had a much more harmonious relationship.
That’s fantastic!
Alessandra, who was Emmanuel’s mother, was pleased. She had been Shifting Tides and Hidden Truths somewhat out of touch and previously assumed that Felicity was Mackenzie’s biological mother, which explained why she had been eager to build a good rapport with Felicity.
Tia, on the other hand, found it more practical to explore the Quillen residence on her own, considering how vast the property was. There was no way she could explore the entire area in a single day.
“Old Mr. Quillen mentioned that once Emmanuel and Mackenzie return, they’ll decide on the baby’s last name. Regardless, the child will inherit the Quillens‘ assets!” As the two older women strolled through the villa while chatting and laughing, they seemed to belong to different worlds despite being close to each other in age.
“Sure. I wonder how much longer our kids will be gone for,” commented Alessandra, out of worry. However, Terence had assured her that Emmanuel and Mackenzie–the young couple–merely went abroad for their long–awaited honeymoon, leaving Alessandra in the dark about the Shifting Tides and Hidden Truths challenges the youngsters faced.
“Don’t worry, I’m confident Emmanuel will bring Mackenzie back soon!” Felicity replied, repeating Terence’s words.
However, after over a month of such reassurance, Alessandra felt apprehensive.
“Ms. Cadigan, let’s talk about something else!” Felicity quickly steered the conversation to another topic, fearing that she might let the cat out of the bag by accident. Alessandra’s a sensitive person, so she might be distressed if she learns of the truth, resulting in unwanted health effects.
“Of course! By the way, how are Mackenzie’s other sisters? Given the family’s influential background, I’m sure you don’t need me to arrange any blind dates for them, right?” Alessandra was adept at setting up blind dates. She arranged eighteen for Emmanuel alone, and many more for Ryder and Roselynn.
Shifting Tides and Hidden Truths “Honestly, I’ve been considering arranging blind dates for Beatrix and Sarah as well!” Felicity confided. “My daughter is dedicated to her career in the business world now. She’s still young, so I don’t want to pressure her too much. As for Sarah…” The moment Felicity touched on Sarah, her expression changed. Although she wasn’t related to the Quillen sisters by blood, she felt a stronger bond with Sarah than with Mackenzie or Beatrix.
If providing for Beatrix was merely her duty, then Sarah was definitely closer to her than her own kin.
Sarah had always supported Felicity—even when the rest of the Quillens, including Mackenzie and Beatrix had distanced themselves. Although Felicity had always known Sarah had her eyes on the Yang Heart of the Sun and the Energy Diagram of the Nine Palace, Sarah had still compassionately treated her as a maternal figure.
“What’s happened to Sarah?” Alessandra asked, noticing the shift in Felicity’s tone. “Come to think of it, I haven’t seen her in ages. Where has she gone?” “She has likely gone abroad, though I’m not sure when she will return,” Felicity Shifting Tides and Hidden Truths replied, forcing a smile to hide the truth.
As they passed by what was once Sarah’s room, Alessandra entered and noticed that the room was neatly kept, but the item that caught her eye was the toy on the desk. It was a doll from around two decades ago.
It was a Barbie doll that would catch Felicity’s attention each time she entered the room. Although the doll wasn’t from the brand’s popular series or the most fashionable, it meant a lot to Sarah and held the deepest memories for Felicity.
“You’ve been gazing at that toy for quite a while,” Alessandra commented, breaking the silence.
Felicity quickly offered a smile to cover her embarrassment. “Oh, sorry. It’s just that this is the only doll Sarah has ever kept.”
Love At The Wrong Table Chapter 1883-“Just this doll?” Alessandra asked. Growing up in such a wealthy family, how could Miss Sarah not have other toys?
“Oh, you know nothing!” It piqued Felicity’s interest, so she explained, “Sarah has always been competing with Mackenzie. Due to her family status and position on top of her less–than–charming demeanor, she rarely wan anything. I even remember that this was something she succeeded in getting from Mackenzie, and she has kept it ever since…” Although she started her story with a smile, the smile was replaced with a troubled expression as she leaned against the table. Her breath became uneven as well.
“What’s the matter?” asked Alessandra, rushing to Felicity’s side “I–I’m fine!” Felicity insisted. She tried to maintain her composure, but she definitely looked preoccupied. Now that Emmanuel and Mackenzie are on the Dark Night Island, would they cross paths with Sarah? Others might not know, NA SOMO’s a tenacious person who would not stop until she has what Meckese hos de She was also worried that Emmanuel Mackenzie, and Sarah would run into Souble Gash Sarch and Mackenzie, don’t fight over a man until you run into Her onvery grew and she lost interest in the conversation, which Alessandra noted Wre you sure you are okay?” On just missed Sorch too much” Felicity explained her smile full of maternal love. Ive been waiting for her return, but I just don’t know when that day will be Even though both Sarah and Felicity were not part of the Quillens, they had grown closer over time, surpassing the relationships that many mothers and daughters had I just miss Sarah too much!
Shattered Peace Alessandra commented, “Oh, Miss Sarah’s too reckless. How could she leave for so long without getting in touch?” It had been more than a month without any news, making her irritable, but her irritation was directed at Emmanuel and Mackenzie. Why didn’t they let me know how they are doing? The nerves are making me jittery.
At that moment, a servant with the Quillen residence rushed in with a respectful greeting. “Ms. Lenoir, Ms. Cadigan, Old Mr. Quillen and Alfred are back!” “Alright. Thanks for letting us know,” Felicity replied. Turning to Alessandra with a reassuring smile, she added, “Why don’t you have a chat with him now that he’s back?” However, before Alessandra could respond, the mansion violently shook, causing both women to struggle with their balance.
A deafening crash sounded a second later, causing the house to shake once more and them to fall to the ground. They were both bewildered and Shallered Peace disoriented.
“What’s going on?” Felicity exclaimed, “What the hell just happened?” Her bodyguard rushed in, clearly panicked, “Ms. Lenoir, we’re under attack! A group of people from an organization is invading the estate!” “What?!” Felicity could hardly believe it as Yeringham was known for its safety and strict legal system. How could such a dangerous group be in town?
Might it be the Holy Fire organization again?
“Ms, Lenoir, Ms. Cadigan, we need to escape through the side gate immediately. The situation is dire!” the bodyguard urged, Felicity hesitated. In the past, she would have fled immediately, but now, she had a strong connection to the Quillen family, “What about Tia and Old Mr. Quillen?” Ever concerned for the well–being of others, Alessandra was the least worried. She had been in poor health for years and learned to take it one day Shattered Peace at a time. If not for the future of Emmanuel and Beatrix, Alessandra would have accepted death with open arms.
Now that Emmanuel was married to Mackenzie, who was now with child, and Roselynn finally settling down with someone, Alessandra knew she had achieved most of her life goals.
“There are assassins avoiding the Quillen residence,” the bodyguard explained and insisted. “If we don’t leave now, I’m afraid we’ll be buried here.” The explosion and the swarm of assassins indicated that a powerful force was behind the attack, executing a meticulously planned operation.
Love At The Wrong Table Chapter 1884-Moreover, it was clear that there had to be powerful insiders within Yeringham to pull off such a daring operation. Even the most formidable leaders from Zovince wouldn’t have been able to execute this without substantial internal support.
“Move quickly!” Felicity’s voice sliced through the chaos with urgent precision.
As the matriarch of the Quillen family, safeguarding Alessandra was her top priority. The thought of facing Emmanuel if anything went wrong was unbearable.
“No, I can’t leave!” Alessandra’s voice was a fierce counterpoint to the chaos.
She shoved Felicity’s hand away with a determined push. “Mrs. Lowe, go with the bodyguards now. I have to find Tia and Old Mr. Quillen. I won’t leave until I know they’re safe!” “You…” Felicity’s eyes flashed with frustration. What could an elderly woman accomplish in such mayhem?
Inferno of Betrayal Ignoring the encroaching blaze, Alessandra rushed toward the hall with a fierce and nearly reckless resolve. The walls were kissed by flames, and thick, suffocating smoke billowed through the corridors.
“Madam, we must go now!” The bodyguard seized Felicity’s arm, dragging her towards the side exit.
“Tia! Old Mr. Quillen, where are you?” Alessandra’s voice cut through the choking haze, a beacon of unwavering resolve in the oppressive smoke.
“Mom!” Through the raging inferno, Tia’s voice emerged, quivering with a mix of fear and relief as she made her way through the blazing ruins.
Strolling through the Quillen residence, Tia enjoyed the rare tranquility she had found after leaving the villa. Her peace was abruptly shattered when she saw Old Mr. Quillen and Alfred’s car pulling up. Just as she began to move toward them, the front gate exploded with a thunderous roar, sending debris flying. The peaceful residence was instantly transformed into a fiery battleground, with merciless assassins flooding in like an unyielding, shadowy tide.
Inferno of Betrayal Fortunately, Tia observed the elite guards, strong and determined, battling fiercely against the attackers outside. Their once–solid defense was holding, despite the intense assault.
“Mom, we need to get out through the side door! This place is a living nightmare!” Tia grabbed Alessandra’s arm, trying to pull her away.
Alessandra, however, refused to move. “Did you see Old Mr. Quillen? The servants said he was just arriving! They must have targeted him specifically.” She wasn’t blind to the situation; the fact that the attack occurred right after, Terence’s return suggested he was likely the primary target. Although the situation remained unclear, she knew that Terence was somewhat involved.
By stepping into the limelight as the Chairman of the Nuthana Chamber of NôvelDrama.Org: owner of this content.
Commerce, the Quillen family had put a bullseye on their backs, drawing the interest of some very dangerous foes.
“Mom, Alfred took him out through the southern gate. With Alfred and his bodyguards, he should be safe. We need to get out of here now!” Tia’s panic Inferno of Betrayal turned into a frantic tug as she tried to drag Alessandra away.
“Go ahead without me!” Alessandra noticed Logan and his bodyguards charging into the villa and quickly pleaded, “Please get Tia somewhere safe!” “Mom, what about you?” Tia, still frantic, continued to pull at her.
“I have to stay with Old Mr. Quillen. Don’t worry about me!” She freed herself from Tia’s grasp and rushed back into the heart of the inferno.
“Mom! Mom!” Tia’s cries were a piercing blend of fear and frustration.
Alessandra’s bravery was undeniable, but it now felt like a perilous gamble in the face of overwhelming danger.
“Ms. Tia, you must leave at once!” Logan’s command was urgent as he made sure Tia was escorted to safety.
I can’t leave Alessandra behind. She’s Ms. Tia’s mother–in–law, and I’ve promised to keep them both safe.
Inferno of Betrayal With a final, reassuring glance, Logan plunged back into the inferno after Alessandra, determined to protect her from the relentless threat.
Meanwhile, at the Verkade residence, Gautier stormed into his father’s study, the scene a stark contrast to the chaos raging outside. William sat back in his chair, leisurely sipping red wine as if the world had not shifted beneath them.
“Dad, why are you doing this?” Gautier’s voice trembled with a mix of disbelief and deep disappointment. He could not understand why his father had embraced such a brutal path.
William looked up, a predatory glint in his eyes as he swirled his wine. “Why not? I’ve waited for this moment for ages!” His gaze was sharp with ambition.
“Mr. Lestrange has assured me that Emmanuel won’t be returning to Chanaea or Yeringham. Once the Quillen family is destroyed, we, as the second–largest shareholders, will seize control of the entire Terence Group!” “And then,” he continued, his voice dripping with hunger, “the Verkade family OK.
Inferno of Betrayal will ascend as the Chairman of the Nuthana Chamber of Commerce. With Mr.
Tanner’s protection, we will dominate Nuthana forever!” Gautier’s heart sank under the weight of his father’s insatiable greed. With a heavy sigh and deep disappointment, he turned and strode out of the study, unable to bear another moment of his father’s ruthless plans.
“Gautier, where are you going?” “This is none of your concern. Just do whatever you want!” Gautier’s tone was resolute as he left the Verkade residence.
Why is he opposing now?
Confusion clouded William’s face, his frown deepening as he considered Gautier’s unexpected reaction. Gautier’s resistance to this grand plan left William perplexed, as has always been known for his ambition and readiness to make harsh decisions.
The Quillen residence was consumed by a relentless blaze, its fiery upheaval echoing the chaos within. Terence strug every action a desperate fight as beads
Love At The Wrong Table Chapter 1885-He had long anticipated this day.
+3 By steering clear of the chamber of commerce and the vicious elite power games of Changea, he had hoped to outlast his rivals and witness a male heir succeed him in the Quillen family business–a plan he had set in motion thirty years ago.
Yet, despite his efforts to stay out of the fray, here he was, thirty years later, finding himself in the very position of Chairman of the Nuthana Chamber of Commerce, drawing the deadly attention of formidable enemies.
“I wish I could do more, Old Mr. Quillen,” Alfred said, frustration etched deeply on his face, despite having fought off several skilled opponents. “But I’m afraid this will be the last time I can protect you.” Amid the flickering inferno, four cloaked figures appeared, encircling them- each distinguished by colors that ranged from green, yellow, purple, and red. Alfred felt their overwhelming power; even the weakest among them was The Last Stand of the Temper undoubtedly an 5 class fighter.
Terence, recognizing the gravity of the situation, let out a resigned chuckle, “I must be quite important in Mr. Tanner’s eyes, Stanley Silverbane faced no such threats during his two decades as Chairman. Yet here I am, barely settled into the role, and already up against the Great Four Envoys. It seems they’re set on my destruction.” With a menacing sweep of his hand, Envoy Aora–the red–cloaked figure with the sparrow mask–declared, “Now that you’ve figured out who we are, it’s clear that your time is up.” The other three envoys closed in, their intent unmistakable: to end Terence’s life.
“You must escape now!” Alfred and Terence, long attuned to each other’s moves, sprang into action. As Alfred’s Templar Seal began to glow, Terence instinctively started to flee.
“Think you can just run away? Not while I’m here!” Envoy Aora sprang into the air, aiming to bypass Alfred, and deliver a fatal blow to Terence. But Alfred’s quick reflexes transformed the Templar Seal into an imposing barrier of black The Last Stand of the Templar and white, halting the red–cloaked assassin mid–air.
“D*mn it!” The other three envoys wasted no time, converging on Alfred with lethal intent.
Alfred’s Templar Seal spun and expanded, enveloping the Great Four Envoys in a swirling, mystical barrier.
“Is this even real?” one of them gasped, his voice shaking.
“A double–S class fighter?!” another exclaimed, eyes wide with disbelief.
“A top–tier fighter hiding out in Yeringham?” the third murmured, clearly astonished.
“It seems the Grandmaster of Nuthana from thirty years ago was every bit as legendary as rumored!” the fourth added, their voices tinged with awe.
The Great Four Envoys stared in utter disbelief. A double–S class fighter was a near–mythical figure–so rare that they could effortlessly serve as an elite bodyguard for national leaders, establish a prestigious martial arts sect, or The Last Stand of the Templar rise to fame as a legendary bounty hunter. The fact that Alfred had spent decades devoted to an old man was beyond their wildest imaginations.
“You four aren’t too shabby yourselves,” Alfred remarked, equally impressed.
Facing the formidable Envoy Aora and his three powerful companions, Alfred knew he stood no chance of winning. His last stand was merely a desperate bid to buy time for Terence’s escape. Beyond that, he was powerless against any further threats.
“Survive at all costs, Old Mr. Quillen!” Alfred urged, his heart heavy with the realization that years of loyalty might end in this fiery disaster.
Boom!
The flames danced with increasing ferocity, their glow intensified by a cacophony of explosive detonations that tore through the night’s quiet veil. In a mere heartbeat, the grand Quillen residence, once a symbol of opulence and status, was reduced to smoldering ruins.
The Last Stand of the Templar Surviving the inferno seemed almost impossible for Terence. The relentless
barrage of falling debris and searing heat pressed in on him, each moment driving him further into a desperate struggle.
A deep sigh escaped him as he faced the grim reality that his time was running out. The thought of not witnessing his great–grandson’s birth filled him with a pang of bitter regret.
Amidst the roaring chaos, Alessandra’s desperate cries of “Old Mr. Quillen!” cut through the noise, a beacon of hope in the infernal tempest.
Seeing Terence trapped in the blazing inferno, she felt a surge of relief for insisting on coming. Without her, his fate would have been far more dire.
“Quick! Get him out of here!” Alessandra shouted to Logan and the other bodyguards, her fear of the flames overshadowed by her determination as she forged a path through the flames and wreckage to reach him.
Love At The Wrong Table Chapter 1886-Crack.
Terence was eventually saved, but not without much hardship.
“Ms. Cadigan, how are you doing? Don’t be too hard on yourself!” Terence was nervous as hell. He was worried that before Alessandra crumbled, he would fail to save himself.
“I’m doing okay. Let’s get out of here fast!” Though out of breath, Alessandra forced a smile.
With a groan, Terence nodded. Ladies such as Alessandra, so thoughtful, were common in his day, but not so much these days. The younger generation in particular had lost the simple but wonderful kindness of country women, and some even found her too saintly or pure–hearted. They would be critical of her kind of woman.
Though values had evolved, he and Alessandra shared the same understanding as they belonged to the same generation.
The Rescue Bang! Bang!
Shots burst from behind abruptly. They were relentlessly chased. The mastermind appeared to have no intention of allowing any of them to survive.
“Move quickly! Ms. Cadigan and Old Mr. Quillen, make your way out by the side entrance. We’ll keep them off!” Logan and the other bodyguards were prepared to sacrifice to keep the Quillen family safe because they had been devoted to them for years.
“You guys have to be careful!” Alessandra’s worries extended to the bodyguards.
“Ms. Cadigan, let’s go!” Terence dragged her with him.
The two of them were feeble and old, unable to move fast through the flaming chaos. They struggled to get to the side door, only to discover that it was blocked by a fallen pillar. The two old people were unable to push it away. Once more, there was a disturbance behind them, a sign that Logan The Rescue and the others had failed to halt the merciless murderers.
“Oh, Ms. Cadigan, you shouldn’t have come looking for me!” A heartfelt sigh escaped Terence. “I can’t see Mackenzie having her child, but you should do that in my stead and see the child grow up!” “How can that be possible?” Alessandra nearly burst into tears. “You have shown us such kindness. It’s thanks to you that we can live our lives. You should see her deliver the child!” Through the flames, Terence could see the killers coming, but instead of being afraid, he laughed wildly. “It looks like we won’t be able to witness it.
Together, let’s head to the underworld to view the live broadcast there.” Motivated by his bravery, Alessandra also grinned fearlessly. “Yes, let’s go to the underworld together with regrets and watch it together!” Click! Click! Unexpectedly, the side door opened from the outside at that very time.
The Rescue They saw a young man with many bodyguards stand outside and yell urgently, “Old Mr. Quillen, you guys need to come out quickly!”
“Gautier?” Terence was dumbfounded and had a look of incredulity in his eyes. He never would have thought Gautier would rush to his rescue.
“Hurry!” Again, Gautier pleaded.
With haste, Alessandra got down and suggested, “I’ll use my body to assist you, Old Mr. Quillen. You jump outdoors first by going around this fire pillar!” “How can I leave you behind?” Terence was unwilling.
“Since I’m an old woman, they might not murder me. You’re their intended victim.” She was not a foolish old lady, even though she might be sweet. Her life was meaningless as an illiterate countrywoman, but he could benefit more people while he was living.
“No, we have to go together!” Terence had to leave with her, otherwise, he could not explain it to Emmanuel when he was back.
The Rescue Bang! Bang!
Bullets were flying in their direction at this very instant, lighting up the surrounding area in flames.
“Please go quickly, Old Mr. Quillen! I’ll rush over and put an end to those murderers if you don’t leave now.” Alessandra was so close to tears because of her desperation.
Terence could only sigh deeply and tread rapidly on her body, knowing her determination.
Using all her effort, Alessandra lifted him.
At the same time, Gautier gave the order for the bodyguards to remove Terence from the flames.
“Now, it’s your turn, Alessandra. Leap up swiftly!” Terence, however, yelled angrily and would not go.
Danal The Rescue 备 Her strength vanished in an instant. She froze, and she felt a stinging pain in her back just as she stood up, “Hey, Alessandra! Alessandral” With tears rolling down his cheeks, Terence let out a cry of agony.
Love At The Wrong Table Chapter 1887-A Mass Killing “Old Mr. Quillen, you need to go…” Alessandra grinned sourly and sobbed.
“One of us needs to be present when Mackenzie’s baby is born! My life is not valuable enough to be mourned. Remind yourself to come and tell me how it goes when you… die.” “Alessandra…” Sob! Without warning, Terence looked ten years older than usual and lost his vigor as a leader. He felt like a lonely, grieving old man right now.
“Old Mr. Quillen, please leave!” Without waiting for Terence, Gautier had him taken off and shut the door himself.
The entire city of Nuthana was shocked as word of the Quillen family incident quickly circulated throughout the community.
It was the next morning, in the Summerton family’s company, in Onza.
Ashton stormed into Julian’s office, warning him to exercise caution these Add prevent the issue, you people ought to go from Nuthana!” Is it because of the Quillen family incident?” Having recently learned of the horrible tragedy surrounding the Quillen family, Julian stood up with trepidation.
However, Ashton possessed official and more thorough information than he did.
“Almost every important Quillen family member was attacked. Stephanie instantly perished in a catastrophic auto accident! Moira was pushed off the eighteenth floor, and she was smashed. Samantha was shot, and now she’s in the hospital in severe condition with little hope of recovery! Sophie’s odds of surviving after falling into the sea are poor. A violent fire destroyed the Quillen residence, and it has been established that Emmanuel’s mother, Alessandra, is dead! Terence is missing; he was probably charred to ashes in the fire.” Julian slammed his hand hard on the table, his expression filled with anguish and rage at hearing Alyssa reiterate the facts. “D*mn it! Who was capable of A Mass Killing doing this? Roselynn has been unwell lately. I’m not sure whether she’ll be able to handle the news that her mother has passed away! Dmn it! I must eliminate those bstards!” Julian was hurting.
The invites had already been mailed out, and he and Roselynn were getting ready for their wedding dinner later this month. He was unsure, though, if the wedding could still proceed in light of this. Roselynn’s mother had passed away, Emmanuel had not come back, and his parents were gone. Julian questioned if anyone else could make it to the wedding.
“Julian, pull yourself together!” With a sigh, Ashton attempted to console him.
“You’re a man, and right now Roselynn needs your support very much. As she did for you in the past, she needs you to be at her side during these trying times.” Julian nodded at the words.
“Although the culprit’s name is currently unclear, I have a suspicion that they are connected to the Verkade family. The chairman of the Chamber of Commerce has undoubtedly been attempting to remove the Chairman of A Mass Killing the Nuthana Chamber of Commerce. His goal is to give his lackeys more authority. He had to have helped the Verkade family destroy the Quillen family. Right now, there’s a risk for anyone connected to the Quillen family!
Roselynn and you need to exercise extreme caution, Julian. For the time being, lay low and stay out of the spotlight.” Julian nodded, understanding that there was no time to be depressed and waste it. He said, “Roselynn is sick,” very quickly. “She’s probably unaware of all of this yesterday since she spent the entire day sleeping in her bed at home.
I have to go to her immediately.” After saying so, he hurried to return home.
Ashton and the police caught up with him as well. The secretary hurried in and announced, “Mr. Summerton, your house has just been attacked,” before they had even left the company. “There’s a fire, I heard!” “What?” Blood was instantly drained out of Julian’s face. “This is outrageous!!” Ashton gave an order right away, “Quick! Get over there quickly, keep Roselynn safe, and apprehend those responsible!” It was evident that the enemy’s goal was to destroy not just the Quillen family but also all of their A Mass Killing allies. The mastermind must be extremely strong. In Chanaea, only a select few were capable of such actions. Even if they identified who it was, they were unable to fight back.
On the other hand, following several days of sailing, Emmanuel and Mackenzie remained lost in the huge ocean.
Despite carrying rations, the ship could not support three thousand people for over twenty days. Not only were many of them weak and tired, but everyone was becoming hungry.
Emmanuel just made sure his wife had enough food, despite his privilege.
Like everyone else, he had been hungry for a very long time.
Love At The Wrong Table Chapter 1888-If this dire situation continued without replenishing their dwindling food supply, the entire army faced certain doom.
“Land in sight!” The cry echoed across the deck.
“Land in sight!” The joyful announcement rippled through the ranks like a beacon of hope.
Amid this surge of optimism, a subordinate burst forth with a crucial update, his voice tinged with urgency, “Commander, we’ve spotted land! Please give the order to dock and resupply our provisions!” “Excellent!” Emmanuel’s face lit up with relief and determination.
He immediately commanded the crew to anchor, their hearts swelling with renewed hope. As they docked, a tense realization dawned upon them: the island they had arrived at was a contentious territory, disputed between Chanaea and a neighboring nation. Should the island still be under the The Return to Freedom control of the neighboring country, the arrival of Chanaea’s forces might provoke its inhabitants, leading to potential hostility and even violent expulsion.
Emmanuel approached the locals with diplomatic intent, but his efforts were met with cold resistance. With no viable alternative, he issued a decisive order. Three thousand elite warriors from Dark Night Island swiftly descended upon the island, their presence imposing and their actions resolute. The anti–Dragon forces were overwhelmed, subdued, and forced to kneel in submission.
The island’s residents were astonished by the Chanaea forces‘ formidable strength. Three thousand warriors were more than sufficient; even three hundred would have been more than enough to overpower the island’s entire armed contingent.
“Listen up!” Emmanuel’s voice rang out with authoritative clarity. “This island now belongs to Chanaea! If you know what’s good for you, leave of your own accord. Otherwise, we shall defeat you again every time we return!” The fenum to Freedomm Eager to return to his homeland, where his wife awaited the birth of their child, Emmanuel had no time to waste with these disputes. He sought to avoid provoking a significant international conflict, his focus solely on returning home swiftly.
After three days of managing the situation and “borrowing necessary provisions, they set sail once more, their journey continuing towards Changea’s coastline. What would have been a mere half–day flight by plane stretched into a grueling month at sea before they finally approached the hore.
“Brothers!” Upon disembarking at the port, Emmanuel gathered his men, his voice carrying the weight of their shared ordeal. “It has been an honor to fight for freedom alongside you. I am profoundly grateful for your strength and perseverance. At last, we have freedom!
Freedom!” the soldiers shouted in unison, their voices a powerful chorus of liberation. “We’ve finally set foot in the outside world! We no longer have to fear for our lives every day! The outside world–the air is so fresh! The sky is so blue! The sun is so bright!
The exhilaration they had felt upon leaving Dark Night Island had evolved into profound emotion. The harsh realities of their past seemed distant now, overshadowed by the beauty of their newfound freedom. Some could not contain their tears, overwhelmed by the contrast between their former oppression and the boundless possibilities before them.
Only now, with their shackles cast away, did they fully grasp the weight of their past sufferings and the extent to which their lives had been constrained.
Their eyes were opened to the vastness of the world, their spirits finally unbound, and their understanding of life itself forever transformed.
Emmanuel’s voice resonated with sincerity as he continued, “Next, I will be returning to Yeringham in Nuthana. If any of you, my brothers, find yourselves without a home or wish to join me, I will take responsibility for your well–being, come what may! However, if you desire to return to your own home or venture elsewhere, you are free to do so. I shall not detain you.” His declaration hung in the air, a moment of truth and choice. Hesitation gripped nearly everyone, their faces reflecting the turmoil within their hearts.
The Return to Freedom #t Xarri and Quell, the indomitable brother and sister pair, stepped forward with solemn dignity. They clasped their hands toward Emmanuel in a gesture of deep respect and gratitude. “Emmanuel, we are deeply thankful for leading us back to Chanaea. We must follow our paths, but if fortune allows, we shall surely visit you and your wife in Yeringham one day.” “Very well!” Emmanuel’s voice rang with a note of finality. “Let us part ways her nd may destiny guide our steps until we meet again.” He did not attempt to detain them but instead watched with a heavy heart as Xarri and Quell departed. Soon after, many others followed, each forging their path.
Yet, a substantial number of them chose to remain behind, including Rhett, who dedicated his life to safeguarding the current generation’s Saintess and nurturing the next generation of Holy Guardians.
Moments later, a voice broke through the murmur of uncertainty.
“Commander, we wish to return home, but we have no means to do so. What shall we do?” The Return to Freedom “Yes! I wish to return as well, but I have lost all sense of where home even is,” another voice echoed, laden with despair.
It became evident that nearly everyone was grappling with this predicament.
Emmanuel and Mackenzie, too, faced a dire situation–they were as destitute as their companions. They found themselves at the port in Eldoria, Zovince of Chanaea, a far cry from their destination in Yeringham, Nuthana. The journey ome would be a formidable challenge for them all.
Just then, a voice emerged from the throng near the port, cutting through the confusion. “Excuse me, who are you? From where do you come from, and why have you docked at our port?” Emmanuel and his followers turned in unison toward the source of the voice.
Two men in impeccably tailored suits approached, accompanied by a small entourage.
The two men, upon recognizing Emmanuel as the leader, stepped forward with a blend of curiosity and respect. “We are the port managers. I am Owen, and this is my brother, Larry. May we inquire who you are and if you need any The Return to Freedom assistance?” Owen extended a courteous gesture, his hands cupped in a traditional sign of respect. He discerned that Emmanuel, and his men were no ordinary individuals; their imposing presence and the sheer number of them suggested a formidable strength. That being said, Owen was keenly aware of the potential risks of offending such a powerful group, especially if they might or the identity of pirates.
Love At The Wrong Table Chapter 1889-“Oh, my name is Emmanuel. My brothers and I are fishermen who lost our way while drifting at sea. We accidentally docked at Eldoria’s port and stopped here while passing through. We kindly ask for your assistance.”
Emmanuel was well–versed in how things operated in the city. Since they had docked without prior permission, the other party had the right to drive them away.
“Fishermen?” Owen immediately frowned, his gaze revealing disdain and scorn. If it weren’t for the large number of people with Emmanuel, many of whom looked formidable, he would have driven them away without hesitation.
“That’s right. We’ll leave the port right away and won’t cause any further disturbance.” Emmanuel didn’t want any unnecessary trouble and intended to leave immediately.
An Unexpected Turn of Events However, with nearly three thousand people, moving quickly wasn’t exactly easy.
“Wait!” Sure enough, Owen stopped them, suspicion creeping into his voice. “You’re not illegal immigrants, are you? With so many people, I can’t just let you leave.” The others immediately tensed up.
They had been confined on Dark Night Island for so many years that it would be difficult to trace their identities, even if some of them were citizens of Chanaea.
Emmanuel and Mackenzie were both eager to return home. Though they could easily go back themselves, many of their brothers wanted to join them, and they couldn’t just abandon them.
If Owen called the police, things would become exceedingly troublesome.
An Unexpected Turn of Events 3 Mackenzie, fully aware of the situation, quickly spoke to Owen, “Hello, I am Mackenzie of the Quillen family from Yeringham in Nuthana. These people are my employees, not lost fishermen. Please do us a favor, and I will certainly repay you when I return.” “The Quillen family from Yeringham?!” Upon hearing those words, Owen’s expression changed dramatically, He looked Mackenzie up and down in shock. “Wasn’t the Quillen family exterminated more than half a month ago? How could you be in Eldoria?” “What?!” Emmanuel and Mackenzie were struck as if by lightning, their faces turning pale.
Mackenzie, who was pregnant and nearing her due date, could hardly bear the shock and nearly fainted, but Emmanuel caught her in time.
“Mr. Owen, you’d better clarify what you’re saying! Don’t speak carelessly An Unexpected Turn of Events about such things!” Emmanuel warned, his tone filled with intensity.
The Quillen family had been a towering force in Nuthana–who could challenge them, let alone annihilate them?
“Hmph, this has been reported nationwide; everyone knows it. Why would I make it up?” Owen sneered. “I think you’re the ones spouting nonsense. One moment you’re lost fishermen, the next you’re from the Quillen family in Yeringham.
I’m certain you’re illegal immigrants, and today, none of you are going anywhere!” Emmanuel’s face darkened, and a murderous aura emanated from him.
He and Mackenzie were both astute enough to see that Owen seemed to harbor ill will toward the Quillen family–perhaps even animosity. When he mentioned the family’s downfall, there wasn’t a hint of sympathy in his tone,
An Unexpected Turn of Events only a trace of schadenfreude.
“Hold on!” Larry’s voice cut through the tension, his presence a sudden beacon of relief. He swiftly stepped forward, his manner brimming with amiable intent. With a warm, apologetic smile directed at Emmanuel, he reassured him, “Emmanuel, you are free to leave. We have no intention of creating any obstacles for you.” As Owen prepared to voice another objection, Larry cast him a sharp, commanding glance that effectively silenced him.
61%8 Turning back to Emmanuel with a genuine, reassuring smile, Larry continued, “Should you require any assistance, I would be more than willing to provide you with some financial aid and arrange transportation.” Emmanuel, whose anxiety to return home was palpable, felt a surge of relief at this unexpected offer. However, Larry’s overly accommodating demeanor gave him pause, and he couldn’t help but feel a hint of suspicion. “Larry, I hesitate to impose. Why are you extending such generous help?” An Unexpected Turn of Events Larry responded with heartfelt sincerity, his eyes gleaming with earnestness.
“As the adage goes, ‘At home, rely on your parents; away from home, rely on your friends.‘ Emmanuel, you strike me as someone destined for greatness. 1, Larry, would be honored to be considered your friend.” Emmanuel scrutinized Larry’s face, searching for any trace of deception, but found none. Still, he glanced towards Mackenzie for her insight. Her perceptiveness often unveiled truths that eluded him.
Mackenzie, though eager to return home, was not overly concerned with Larry’s motives. She promptly addressed him with gratitude. “Thank you, Mr.
Larry.” “There’s no need for thanks,” Larry replied graciously. With a flourish, he produced a card from his pocket and extended it to Emmanuel. “Inside this card is a million. Use it as you see fit. I can also arrange for vehicles to transport you from the port, or assist you with travel to any specific destination in Chanaea if you wish.” “Thank you,” Emmanuel said, his voice laden with genuine appreciation. “I will Annerected Turn of Events be sure to repay your kindness tenfold in the future!” Larry, displaying his generosity with a wave of his hand, dismissed the formality. He gestured for his men to begin making the necessary arrangements. His demeanor radiated warmth and magnanimity, ensuring that Emmanuel and his entourage would face no further difficulties.
Love At The Wrong Table Chapter 1890-Once Emmanuel and his entourage had departed, Owen, visibly trembling with a mixture of excitement and dread, erupted, “Larry, are you out of your mind? These people are from the Quillen family! Rumor has it that they were ruthlessly slaughtered by the chairman of the Chamber of Commerce! By assisting them, aren’t you brazenly defying the President? You’ll drag our family into this perilous storm!” Larry, his demeanor calm and composed, responded, “And what do you propose? Should we summon the police or alert the President’s agents, hoping our actions might serve as a token offering?” To Larry’s astonishment, Owen nodded in agreement, which only fueled Larry’s frustration further.
“Foolish simpleton! Ignorant fool!” Larry scolded sharply. “If you resort to that, the police and any help we might call will be too late to save us from annihilation! Can’t you grasp the gravity of the situation? Emmanuel’s group is formidable enough to lay waste to an entire city!”
The Storm After the Calm “What?” Owen’s disbelief was palpable, “Larry, have you lost your sanity? Two or three thousand people can’t possibly destroy a city!” Larry, exhausted and beyond the point of argument, had resolved to offer his ald to Emmanuel. With Larry’s assistance , Emmanuel and his wife managed to navigate their way to the southern states safely by car.
The remaining members of their group, except Rhett–who stayed behind to safeguard Mackenzie–were instructed by Emmanuel to proceed to the base of the Wolf Warrior Society, where Sage and Eve would ensure their well–being.
Emmanuel, however, drove directly to the Quillen residence.
“Mackenzie, I’m so frightened,” she whispered, her voice trembling as she sat in the passenger seat. Her hand pressed lightly against her heart, her entire body drenched in cold sweat. The fear of what she might encounter was almost unbearable.
“Mackenzie, perhaps you should rest somewhere else first? I’ll go and Mon, The Storm After the Calm investigate the situation,” Emmanuel suggested gently, clasping her hand tightly, attempting to instill some courage within her.
“No. That would only heighten my anxiety. I need to know everything immediately,” Mackenzie insisted, her resolve unwavering. Despite having a new phone, she hadn’t reached out to Lexi yet, as she wished to see the Quillen residence firsthand before seeking more information.
“Mackenzie, do not worry. Everyone will be alright, especially your grandfather.
He is a man of great fortune, Emmanuel reassured her, his voice a mixture of comfort and genuine belief.
Had old Terence not been favored by fortune, he wouldn’t have risen from humble beginnings to become the wealthiest man in the southern states.
This time, he and everyone else would surely prevail… right?
The three of them emerged from the car. Mackenzie nearly crumpled at the sight that met her eyes. Fortunately, Emmanuel was there to steady her.
“Why? Who could have done this? Why such cruelty?” she lamented.
The Shum her the aim Mackenzie, usually a pillar of strength, had endured a year of ceaseless trials.
Now, as a pregnant woman confronting such devastation, she felt on the brink of her endurance, “Mackenzie, let us go inside and see what has transpired,” Emmanuel said, his eyes, fierce and pained, struggling to contain his emotions.
Mackenzie nodded, steeling herself with the resolve that, regardless of the circumstances, she had to remain strong.
She had Emmanuel and their unborn child to think of. She had to be resilient for those she cherished. She couldn’t afford to falter.
“Ms. Quillen!” “Mackenzie!” In that poignant moment, Lexi emerged from a car parked behind them, hurrying forward with Beatrix close at her heels. The sight of them, amid the chaos and fear, was like a beacon of hope.
“Lexit” “Beatrix!” At the sight of her dear friends, Mackenzie, her condition heavy with pregnancy, was almost overwhelmed with the urge to rush toward them. The nows that the Quillen family had been annihilated had left her heartbroken, convinced that all was lost. But now, seeing Lexi and Beatrix again after weeks apart felt almost like a dream.
“Mackenzie! Emmanuel! You’re finally back! Waaaah…” Beatrix dashed into Mackenzie’s arms, burying her head in her sister’s embrace, her tears flowing freely like a torrent of grief and relief.
“Ms. Beatrix, please be cautious; your sister is pregnant…” Lexi’s voice trembled with both concern and sorrow, her eyes glistening with tears of her own.
Beatrix looked up, her face streaked with tears, but her anguish was palpable.
“Wah… Mackenzie, I thought you and Emmanuel weren’t coming back. I The Storm After the Calm thought I’d be left alone, an orphan!” “Beatrix, please don’t cry. Tell me everything that happened,” Mackenzie said, her voice steady despite the tumult of emotions swirling within her.
Among the three women, Mackenzie stood as the pillar of strength. While a woman may be delicate, a mother’s resolve is unshakable. She reminded herself to remain steadfast, for the sake of her unborn child and to support her sister in this time of despair.
