Chapter 151

Mia Made Nougats

He patted Trevor on the shoulder. This woman is yours to deal with."

As he walked toward the door, Fraser lazily turned his head and said with mockery, "What a joke, getting cheated on."

Trevor stared at the two people in front of him, his eyes darkening. At this moment, he felt like a complete joke. Trevor suddenly laughed. He laughed until his eyes turned red.

He shut the door, blocking out the last sliver of light, and walked toward Peyton.

Peyton saw him staring at her with a cold and cruel gaze. Her heart skipped a beat. It's over!

She wanted to beg for mercy, to say something, and to say that what Josh said was fake.

But an overwhelming fear surged through her, gripping her throat so tightly that her lips and teeth trembled uncontrollably. Tears welled up in her eyes.

Trevor suddenly raised his right hand and swung it across Peyton's face with a vicious slap. The force of it accompanied by the sharp sound of a gusting wind.

it was hard,

Peyton's face felt like it had exploded from the impact, the pain so intense that she nearly fainted. Immediately after, a searing pain ripped through her abdomen. Bright red blood began to trickle down between her legs....

She still tried to struggle. "Trevor... please, save my child..."

The driver saw Fraser step out and immediately got out of the car, respectfully opening the rear passenger door. The vehicle started smoothly, going onto the main road.

Sitting in the front passenger seat, Mike finally couldn't suppress his curiosity anymore. “Mr. Graham, why didn't you just handle those two yourself? Why call Trevor instead?"

Fraser sat lazily in the middle of the car with his long legs crossed. His handsome face exuded dominance. He lifted his eyelids slightly and said, "Peyton cares most about Trevor. Since that's the case, it's only fitting that the man she loves is the one to send her off on her final journey. Remember this, when you take revenge, you don't just destroy the body. You destroy

the heart."

And this way, Trevor wouldn't have the energy to show up in front of Summer again.

Fraser had never been a righteous man. He wanted Summer.

He wanted her eyes to be filled with only him.

Thinking of that woman, Fraser smirked, the pleasure in his eyes deepening. He pulled out his phone and dialed that familiar number. The phone rang for a while. Second by second, time passed, but no one answered on the other end.

Fraser's perfectly sculpted brows furrowed slightly. Is that little pig still asleep? Or was she too exhausted from last night? Had I been

Fraser had never had an intense desire for women.

But after meeting Summer again, everything changed. As long as she was by his side.

Even if it was just her unintentionally revealing her feminine side, a single enchanting glance, or a simple handhold... It was enough to completely shatter the self-control he had always prided himself on

Leaning back against the seat, Fraser tugged at his straight tie, his eyes deep and unreadable beneath his lashes. Just then, the phone he had just put down rang again

Fraser answered the call.

On the other end, Helen's gentle and affectionate voice came through. "Fraser, you've been back from Ameros for so long. Why haven't you come home to see me? I miss you."

Fraser smirked slightly. "What, your sources didn't give you enough information? Now you need to see me in person?"

"You little rascal, what are you saying? You never like coming home, so what else can I do? If you did, I wouldn't have to find out about you through others."

Helen sounded a bit embarrassed over the phone. She did have people keeping an eye on things within the Graham Group, She just hadn't expected her grandson to call her out on it so directly, Helen changed the subject. "Come home today. Mia just returned to the country. She even learned how to make your favorite nougat, just so you could try it with me."

Fraser tapped his fingers twice against the center console. His handsome face remained expressionless as he said flatly, "Since when do I like nougat?"

"Didn't you

say it was okay when Karena made it before?

Fraser's voice was lazy. "What she made and what Mia made. Well, are they the same?"

Nougat tasted the same no matter who made it. What is Mia's version supposed to be better than what a fifty-year-old housekeeper made?

Chapter 152

The Winsor Family

Mia stood to the side, holding a plate of freshly made nougat, feeling a little awkward.

Then come home and have dinner with me. Now, even having a meal with my grandson requires an appointment, huh?"

Fraser narrowed his eyes slightly. After a moment, he said, "I have things to do today. I'll come back another time."

With that, he hung up the phone. Fraser leaned back lazily in the seat, closing his eyes for a rest.

Mike, sitting in the front passenger seat, was on edge. He quietly raised three fingers. “Mr. Graham, I swear on my life, I didn't leak your whereabouts to the Graham family"

Fraser lifted his eyes slightly, his cold gaze sweeping over Mike, who looked as if he was ready to swear his innocence with his life. He let out a light scoff. "Even if I gave you ten times the courage, you wouldn't dare."

Fraser had complicated feelings toward Helen. His biological parents left when he was very young. Helen took on both the role of a mother and a grandmother to raise him, and Fraser wasn't oblivious to that.

The two elders of the Graham family had a strong sense of possession and control over him. Sometimes, they would play little tricks behind his back. Most of the time, as long as they didn't cross the line, Fraser didn't bother with them. He simply turned a blind eye.

"Head to Ravenshire Boulevard. His voice rang through the car.

"Okay, Mr. Graham." Mike silently swallowed the words about the scheduled dinner with the president of Cranford Bank.

The driver turned the steering wheel, and the car merged onto another wide road. After a while, the car finally slowed to a stop at a reserved parking space on Ravenshire Boulevard. Fraser took the private elevator straight to the top floor, which was the 66th floor.

The password lock clicked open, and he walked inside. The room was eerily quiet, the air filled with a sense of emptiness. Fraser walked straight into the bedroom and pushed the door open. The bedroom was also silent. The blanket on the bed was neatly folded and placed to the side.

If it weren't for the woman's clothes in the laundry basket. Fraser would have thought last night was just a dream.

He let out a low chuckle. She ran away again.

With one hand in his pocket, his tall figure stood in place. The massive floor-to- ceiling window cast a long shadow of him. tinged with the melancholy of dusk.

Fraser had never thought he would one day experience something called frustration. As an adult, he was the Top Dog of Havenbrook. He was the president of the world-class Graham Group. He had endless wealth and supreme power. But today. Damn it!

He actually felt a hunt of frustration and a slight ache in his heart. Summer, after all this time, do you still not see me?

After a long while, Fraser turned around, ready to leave and close the door behind him.

Then suddenly, something crossed his mind. His dark eyes scanned the bedroom. That sapphire bracelet. She has taken it with

At the Graham estate, Helen hung up the phone, the kindness on her face slowly fading away.

She looked at Mia, who was standing not far away, and said in a calm tone, "No need to continue making them. Fraser won't be coming back for dinner.".

"Wright Mia placed the nougat on the dining table, took off her blue apron, and handed it to a maid. She then obediently walked over and sat on the couch across from Helen.

Mia placed her hands neatly on her lap. "I don't think she's worth your concern, Madam Graham."

"Oh?" Helen's tone was neutral, but that simple word made Mia, who had known her for years, instinctively nervous. Her fingers tightened around the fabric of her dress.

Helen's sharp gaze locked onto Mia. "No wonder my grandson isn't interested in you. Mia... you had the best chance."

This was a test. Mia carefully concealed her emotions and replied cautiously, "I only see him as an older brother. I won't have any inappropriate thoughts anymore. Being able to serve you is my honor."

Helen smiled. "Your mother's birthday is coming up. The villa in the north of the city; let her have it for her retirement."

Thank you, Madam Graham"

Chapter 153

Michelle Fine Jewel

After Summer left Ravenshire Boulevard, she recalled that Sienna had asked her for dinner.

Suddenly, because of this woman, her mood was thrown into turmoil, and Summer almost forgot about this matter.

There was a small restaurant near Havenbrook Averfield University. By the time Summer rushed over, Sienna had already ordered the food.

Sienna had short, sleek hair and was dressed in a white blouse and a gray work skirt-a typical professional woman's outfit. But she had never dressed like this before. "Summer, are you sure you really want to join my design studio?"

Summer stirred her lemonade and looked at her. "Yeah."

"The Stewart family's business has expanded quite a bit, and you even made it to the director position. Why would you come

to me?"

e left the Stewart family," Summer said. "Are you not welcoming me?"

Sienna felt a bit self-conscious. I'm just afraid you'll look down on me. You know... I haven't been doing too well."

Saying "not too well was putting it mildly. It was actually pretty bad.

Sienna recalled the past.

"When we were in college, it was always the three of us-you. Yvette, and me. Back then, I was the one with the best family background, but now, I've ended up being the one in the worst shape.

Sienna had grown up in a wealthy family as an only child. By her sophomore year, she had already gone abroad to study in Oblistan. But then she married a scumbag. Mason Aldridge. That bastard took all of her family's assets, leaving her and her parents with nothing.

Even her design studio was on the verge of collapse due to a lack of connections.

Summer held her hand. "Sienna, I'm changing careers anyway, and I was already planning to start my own design firm. You're already doing it, so wouldn't it be better if we worked together?"

Back in college, Sienna had always stood up for Summer and Yvene, who were from less privileged backgrounds, and often helped them out financially. It was only after she went abroad that they slowly lost touch.

Sienna lowered her head and whispered, "This isn't really a company..." She was just a one-woman operation. Her only employee was a fresh graduate working as a low-paid assistant. "If you're only doing this because you pity me, there's no

need."

"Sienna, you're overthinking it. I'm a businesswoman too. Since I'm investing money in this, of course, I want to make something of it

Hearing this, Sienna took a napkin and dabbed at the slight sting in her nose "Summer, thank you for joining me. You have no idea how much I've come to understand human nature ever since my family went bankrupt."

Yvette used to say there was a gap between me and you two, and I never believed her. But after experiencing what you both went through, I realized how shallow I was."

"Sienna, don't say that. Back then, you never looked down on me and Yvette. And you know how Yvette is... She can be sharp- tongued, but she's always considered you a good friend. Otherwise, she wouldn't have come to you first when she needed. money for a contract termination to switch agents."

Sienna finally smiled through her tears. "Alright, let's toast to our future business." Chapter 153 Michelle Fine Jewel

Her eyes widened 'Summer, is that... a gift from your boyfriend?"

Summer lowered her gaze slightly and replied blandly. "A friend."

"A friend? No way! A friend wouldn't give you such an expensive bracelet. It must be a male friend who likes you."

Finished

Sienna had grown up in high society. Even though her family had gone bankrupt, she still had a solid understanding of luxury brands.

"Do you know how much that bracelet costs?"

"At least this much. Sienna exaggeratedly held up eight fingers.

"Summer, do you even need to start a business? You could just sell it and open a high-end design firm right away."

Summer was stunned by the number. She knew Fraser wouldn't give her anything cheap, but this was beyond her expectations. Her wrist suddenly felt as heavy as a thousand pounds.

I saw this in a magazine once. I think it's a limited edition from the Belvare brand, Michelle Fine Jewel. Their high-end jewelry pieces are all one-of-a-kind. More importantly, do you know what a sapphire symbolizes?"

Summer shook her head.

Sienna's eyes sparkled. "In ancient Graes, it represented loyalty, love, and devotion."

Hearing that, Summer's eyelashes trembled slightly. But she immediately dismissed the thought. She recalled how casually Fraser had treated the bracelet yesterday. When she refused it, he had even been ready to throw it away.

He probably had no idea about the meaning behind sapphires. It must have just been a random purchase.

Chapter 154

Summer Piglet Is Upset

After her dinner with Sienna, Summer returned to Brookhaven Estates with a complicated feeling in her heart.

Finished

When she opened the door, she saw the man lying lazily on the sofa, dressed in a gray shirt. One arm rested behind his head while the other draped across his forehead. His long legs were casually crossed at the edge of the couch.

Hearing the door open, Fraser slowly lifted his hand, lazily peeling open his eyes. His dark pupils were as deep as the ocean. his long lashes slightly drooping. His half-awake gaze carried an unintentional hint of desire. Standing at the doorway, Summer was caught off guard, crashing straight into his penetrating stare.

For a moment, the air seemed to freeze. The two of them silently locked eyes, neither speaking a word.

The bedroom light was off. Only the faint glow of moonlight seeped in through the balcony.

Summer couldn't clearly see his features, but she could feel his intense gaze pulling her in, rendering her unable to move. The only sounds in the house were their slow, even breaths and the ticking of the clock against the wall.

After a while, Fraser lazily sat up, leaning back on the sofa, his arms resting casually on either side.

Summer quickly snapped out of it. The lights flickered on. Fraser raised a brow. "Summer Piglet, acting like a big shot now? Ignoring my calls and vanishing into thin air

Summer bent slightly, reaching down to remove her heels and switch into slippers. As she bent over, the curve of her slender, delicate waist was unintentionally revealed.

"I never agreed to stay here last night."

Fraser's gaze was locked onto her every movement. His eyes darkened, his voice turning husky and seductive. "So I was just being delusional?"

Summer replied flatly, "I just don't like staying in unfamiliar houses."

The house wasn't particularly large. Yet, even just sitting in the living room. Fraser's tall frame and presence made the space feel suffocating.

Summer finished changing her shoes and hesitated. Should she walk past him directly and head to her room, or should she just ignore him completely?

In the end, she decided to walk right past him. But just as she did, he suddenly reached out and caught her fingers. His fingertips were hot. The moment they touched her cooler skin, a jolt of electricity shot through her veins, sending a wave of heat straight to her chest.

Summer instinctively pulled away. "Fraser."

Fraser exerted a bit more force, pulling her directly in front of him. His legs remained lazily spread apart, and she was now standing between them. Fraser tilted his head up, his eyes locked onto her as he said, "Summer, you're upset

Summer blinked, her long lashes fluttering like butterfly wings. "And which eye of yours saw that I was upset?"

Fraser slowly stood up. His towering frame instantly cast an overwhelming pressure. He tapped a finger against his chest. "Right here. I can see it crystal clear. Tell me, who made you unhappy? I'll handle them for you."

Summer lowered her gaze, avoiding his intense eyes. She said nothing. Fraser reached out and pinched her soft check.

"Fraser" Summer, feeling unsettled, pulled his hand away. "Stop touching me all over"

Fraser arched a brow, the corners of his lips lifting slightly. "Oh Yesterday I could touch you, but today I can't? My lady, your quite fackle aren't you?"

Fraser leaned in slightly, his chiseled face closing the distance. His eyes locked onto hers. As he spoke, he took her hand and pressed it firmly against his face. Summer wasn't sure if this hand had touched his childhood sweetheart before.

That thought suddenly made her freeze. It felt like a bucket of cold water had been dumped over her head. She tried to withdraw her hand, but he held it tightly in place. Summer frowned. "Let me go."

"No.

Summer was starting to get annoyed. "You call me fickle, but aren't you just as overbearing?"

Fraser lazily lifted his eyelids. "Fine, I won't be overbearing. Now tell me, what happened?"

Summer's expression remained cold. "Nothing. It's none of your business."

"Sienna." Fraser's deep voice carried a hint of carelessness. "If you don't tell me, how am I supposed to comfort you?"

Summer slightly turned her head, her eyes staring directly at him.

Chapter 155

Because of their close proximity, Summer could clearly see the thickness of his eyelashes. His eyes were narrow and sharp like a blade, with slightly upturned corners. She could slightly see herself from the reflection of his eyes.

"You... why are you trying to comfort me?"

"I'm afraid that if I don't, a certain petty little pig will secretly hold a grudge, ignore my calls, and disappear as a form of protest." Fraser teased, making it hard to tell whether he was genuinely troubled or just being smooth. After all, every time she argued with him, she always lost.

When Fraser had a bad temper, he could drive people crazy. But when he was affectionate, he could make someone lose all their defenses without even realizing it.

Summer felt uncomfortable-not an unbearable pain, but a suffocating ache that made her feel restless. Sometimes she felt like crying. Sometimes she felt wronged and bitter. The emotions swirled inside her, too overwhelming to process, leaving her powerless to change anything.

Her lips pressed together stubbornly. After a brief pause, she lifted her head and said, “Can you stop playing with me after you've already flirted with someone else?"

*Someone else?" Fraser's eyes slightly narrowed. He actually gave it some serious thought. In the past few days, aside from her, the only person who had been close to him was... a man.

your childhood sweetheart."

What nonsense! Summer was speechless. In frustration, she blurted out, "I'm talking about you

Fraser's eyes flickered slightly. "You rnean yourself?"

"Fraser!" Her pleasant voice carried a trace of irritation. Her eyes, bright like stars on a summer night, made her delicate features even more vivid.

Fraser gazed at her deeply, a glimmer of desire flashing through his eyes. His voice turned husky and seductive. "My ears aren't deaf. But instead of you yelling at me now, I'd much rather hear you calling out in bed."

Summer was speechless as she looked at the handsome man in front of her. She spoke seriously. "I know our beginning was different, but when you're with me, I don't want there to be anyone else.

With that, she pushed him away and walked toward the bedroom in small steps.

Fraser frowned, feeling like he had missed some detail. Watching her slightly lonely figure, he took a long stride forward, using his height and presence to block her from leaving. In the next second, he reached out and lifted ber directly onto the dining table.

Fraser placed both hands on either side of her, his eyes locking onto hers. "Summer, did someone come looking for you?"

Summer bit her lip. "She said she grew up with you and has a very close relationship with you."

Fraser's childhood sweetheart? The only one he ever recognized was Summer. Even if she had forgotten. Even if she no longer remembered...

She didn't remember bringing Pudding to him and asking if she could keep it. She didn't remember sneaking into the hospital every day to visit him. Even though it was only for a month, it became one of the most memorable times of his life. But it was clear that Summer was referring to someone else.

A woman's image flashed through Fraser's mind, and his gaze darkened. So, someone has overstepped their bounds and reached

Fraser walked in, dressed in a white shirt and gray dress pants, with his suit jacket draped over his arm. His pace was leisurely

and chill.

The servant helped Helen up to greet him. "Brat, you didn't even tell me you were coming back." As she spoke, she carefully looked him up and down. "You've lost weight. Have you been too busy with work lately?"

Fraser handed his suit jacket to the servant beside him, replying nonchalantly, "Got too angry by someone and lost weight."

Helen immediately frowned. Who would dare upset my precious grandson? Then again, given Fraser's arrogant nature, no one in Havenbrook had the ability to provoke him.

"Stop talking nonsense."

Fraser sat down in the single-seater sofa, long legs crossed in a relaxed posture. He lifted his gaze lazily, his indifferent eyes sweeping over the woman sitting nearby before letting out a cold scoff. "Looks like you have been keeping yourself well entertained lately."

Chapter 156

Helen thought her grandson was just joking. "At least Mia is filial. She checks in on me every day, keeps me company for tea Unlike you! I have to beg three times before you even show up. When you get married, I'll finally have some real company."

Fraser's face remained emotionless. He sneered slightly. "You'll have to wait for the next life for that."

Helen chuckled affectionately. "Your fiancée from The Lastesh Group, Anne, is graduating soon. Who knows? Maybe by next year, it'll happen."

Fraser's sharp eyes narrowed. "You mean that one who still needed a bottle when this was arranged?"

"Watch your mouth. Helen stepped forward and patted his shoulder lightly.

"Am I wrong?" Fraser let out a low scoff, filled with sarcasm. "When you all made that verbal agreement, how old was she? How old was 1? My only impression of her is that she was still on her way to weaning"

Helen felt a little dizzy listening to him. She knew Fraser had never acknowledged this so-called engagement. And now wasn't the time to push it. She had to take it slow. For now, the most important thing was to kick away the scheming women around her grandson.

Karena stepped forward and interjected. "Madam Graham, Mr. Graham, lunch is ready. Please move to the dining room."

The Graham family took their meals seriously. The nearly three-meter-long mahogany dining table was set to perfection. Since Maximus wasn't home, Helen sat at the main seat.

Fraser sat directly across from her. Mia, who had been sneaking glances from the side, wanted to sit next to Fraser. She hesitated for a moment before stepping forward and choosing the seat beside Helen instead.

The table was laid out like a royal feast. The exquisite silverware was arranged nicely, from forks to spoons. Uniformed servants stood by, serving rice, pouring soup, and refilling tea.

Mia carefully picked up a king crab leg the size of her arm and used the shell cracker to delicately extract the meat, placing it onto a white porcelain dish.

She first placed some on Helen's plate, then used the opportunity to stand up and place a serving into Fraser's blue-and-white porcelain bowl.

"Fraser, try this. The king crab was flown in from Oblistan today. The meat is at its freshest in this season."

Just as she finished placing it down, the next second, Fraser picked up his spoon and tossed the crab meat onto the table. His voice was flat. "I'm allergic to crab."

He lifted his chin at a nearby servant. The Graham family's staff was well-trained. Immediately, a fresh bowl of rice was placed respectfully in front of him.

Mia's face flushed red. Her grip on her fork tightened, turning her knuckles white. Helen frowned, thinking hard. "My dear, I remember you've eaten crab since you were little and never had an allergic reaction. Am I mistaken?"

Fraser leaned lazily into his chair, the corners of his lips turning into a mocking smile. "Heh. I'm not a child anymore. There are plenty of things you don't know,"

Helen suddenly caught the cold irony in his words. Fraser had never been fond of the old Graham estate, but he had never

arried this much hostility before.

He picked up the white napkin from the table and wiped the corners of his lips. His gaze landed on Mia, which was cold and dharp

"Is that so?" Fraser's voice was light, yet it carried an edge.

He casually tossed his napkin onto the table, stood up, and locked his eyes onto them. His voice was low as he said, "This is the first and last time. Tomorrow, have her sent back to Ameros."

With that, he turned and strode away. His departing figure was distant and cold. At the dining table, Helen and Mia exchanged looks, and their faces turned pale.

The next day, Summer officially started work. Following the address Sienna gave her, she arrived at an old office building.

She took the elevator to the third floor. Spotting the nameplate for Aspira Design Institute, she pushed the door open and stepped inside. A young woman sitting in the lobby immediately stood up when she saw someone enter, her gaze landing on the newcomer.

Summer was dressed in a blue; mid-length button-up shirt tucked into a white pencil skirt. A thin gray belt cinched her waist. accentuating her silhouette. She carried a black Chanel bag over one shoulder, her entire aura exuding elegance and cool

composure.

"Hello, are you here to see our boss?"

Summer's

eyes swept across the space casually. The office was about 100 square meters, with two small private offices and an open workspace.

It looked like something that had been rejected by every potential client, like a pile

of discarded drafts. This design firm was even more miserable than Summer had imagined.

"Yes, I'm looking for Sienna."

Hearing the voice, Sienna walked out of an office with a bright smile. "Summer, you're here. She then turned to introduce her to the young woman. “Merry, this is our new shareholder, and also your other boss. Call her Ms. Stewart

The girl named Merry finally took a proper look at Summer.

"Hello, Ms. Stewart, I'm Ms, Sienna's assistant.""

Sienna had planned to give a longer introduction, but seeing the time, she had to cut it short. "Summer, I scheduled a meeting with a potential client a few days ago to discuss a design proposal. I'll talk to you more when I get back. For now, Merry will show you around and help you get familiar with our situation."

Summer nodded. "Alright, go ahead."

Sienna grabbed her design drafts and stepped out of the office, then suddenly remembered something and turned back. "Oh, by the way, the other office is yours. I already cleaned it up yesterday."

Merry looked to be in her early twenties, lively and cheerful. She dutifully explained everything to Summer, from the founding of Aspira Design Institute to its present state. After listening, Summer came to a conclusion-no clients.

She couldn't tell if it was just bad luck or if her scumbag husband was deliberately sabotaging them. Every time they got close to sealing a deal, at the final step, the client would suddenly back out. If Summer's investment hadn't come through, the firm would have been forced to shut down next month. But even with the money, if things continued like this, the firm wouldn't Last long-

During the lunch break, Summer propped her forehead with one hand, her mind running through every possible useful client she could reach.

Meanwhile, her other hand absentmindedly sketched on a draft paper with a pencil.

When she finally snapped back to reality, she realized she had drawn the sharply chiseled features of Fraser.

Summer stared at the drawing, momentarily lost in thought.

She recalled his words from yesterday. "There's no one else, only you."

Does that mean there really was no one else when he was with me? That so- called childhood sweetheart just threw herself at him?

But what did it matter? It only meant that, for now, he was interested in her.

Even if she was the real daughter of the Stewart family, she still wasn't on the same level as a family like the Graham family.

Not to mention, she had lived outside for twenty years before being acknowledged, so she was considered a wild girl raised in

the streets

Summer lowered her eyes and, almost stubbornly, picked up an eraser, rubbing away every trace of the man on the paper.

suddenly, Merry, who was sitting beside her, let out a loud gasp while staring at the news on her phone.

"Wow" Famous Ameros doctor Josh and the illegitimate daughter of the Smith Group, Peyton, have been sentenced to tent years in prison for kidnapping and extortion!"

Summer glanced at Merry's phone and saw the bold headline.

Trevor Showed Up

Seeing that Summer was listening. Merry assumed she was interested. She spun her chair around and leaned closer. launching into gossip mode.

"Ms. Stewart, there are rumors that Trevor has a fiancee who really loves him, but unfortunately, his heart was always with Peyton. That poor fiancée kept trying to hold on and ended up making a fool of herself. Even when Trevor threw a wedding for his true love, she forced herself to endure it for love! I mean, isn't she stupid? In novels, she'd be that annoying, clingy side character. Ms. Stewart, if you were in her shoes, what would you do?"

Summer didn't know how to respond. Was she supposed to say that she was that pathetic side character?

She forced an awkward smile.

Trevor might look decent, but let's be real! He's a scumbag who was two-timing. If it were me, I'd pull a revenge-heroine move-first, take over his family's business, then destroy his little dick, and finally, walk down the grand avenue of success as strong independent woman-

Before she could finish, Merry-suddenly saw a sharply dressed man walk through the door.

What was going on today? Why is our rundown design studio suddenly so popular? And why does this man look oddly familiar?

Merry quickly grabbed her phone and compared his face with the one in the news.

He looked just like Trevor.. Merry's eyes widened as she stood up. "You.... You're. Trevor? Who are you looking for?"

Summer followed Merry's gaze and looked over. She froze for a moment.

Trevor had lost some weight. The dark circles under his eyes were pronounced.

He still carried that cold, unapproachable aura, but now there was an undeniable

sadness beneath it. He stood there, staring straight at her.

Merry's eyes darted back and forth between Summer and Trevor.

She looked at Merry's face curiously.

Trevor followed behind her as they walked to the end of the hallway, right in front of a white window. Trevor's tall figure stood against the light, casting a shadow over Summer.

Summer spoke calmly. "What do you want?"

Trevor's gaze never left her. She had her hair twisted into a high bun, and her simple, professional outfit gave her a unique kind of charm. She was still just as beautiful, standing right in front of him, yet she felt so far away.

Six months ago, she followed him everywhere. Six months later, she looked at him with nothing but cold indifference.

Trevor felt an ache in his chest. After a long silence, his voice came out hoarse. "Summer, the ones who kidnapped you... It was Peyton and Josh. Even the first time too"

Summer crossed her arms. "I saw the news. They said you were the one who reported them. Ha, how could you bring yourself to send your precious childhood lover to prison?"

Trevor's throat tightened, and his heart felt like it was being crusheel, making it hard to breathe. That day, he had accidentally seen Peyton's phone.

Every time he abandoned Summer to be with Peyton, she had been gloating about it, rubbing it in Summer's face all the time. He had always thought Peyton was sweet and kind. But she had been nothing but cruel and vicious. Trevor took a deep breath. "Why didn't you tell me? She sent you so many nasty messages. If you had told me, I wouldn't have-"

"You would have believed me?" Summer cut him off.

Trevor fell silent. The truth was, she had told him before. But back then, he had just assumed she was jealous and making things up.

"I know nothing I say or do now will change anything, but Summer, still want to say I'm sorry."

"I hear you, but that doesn't mean I have to forgive you."

Trevor's face turned pale as he slowly dropped to one knee.

Hiding around the corner, Merry gasped and quickly covered her mouth, afraid of making a sound. So Summer was that fiance? Then what the hell have I been rambling about earlier? And the rumors they didn't seem right. This Thor guy actually looked like he did our Summer

Summer froze. "Trevor, what are you doing?"

Trevor looked up at her. "I know my arrogance and selfishness hurt you. I don't expect you to truly forgive me, but Summer, please give me a chance to make it up to you. I still love you"

Summer frowned. "Your love doesn't matter to me anymore."

"As long as you loved me once, I don't want to give up."

Summer was speechless. "Then go ahead and kneel on your own" With that, she turned to leave.

But in the next second, Trevor reached out and grabbed her wrist "Summer, give me a chance."

Summer tried to shake him off, but Trevor's grip was strong When she looked up, she saw Fraser standing there. The man

Finished

Summer's heart skipped a beat. She instantly yanked her wrist free from Trevor's grasp and ran after him. The sharp sound of her high heels echoed through the hallway.

Merry's eyes widened again. What kind of love triangle drama is this? And that other guy... Who is he? Ms. Stewart sure had a lot of

admirers!

Summer chased Fraser all the way to the ground floor. Not far away, a limited- edition Rolls-Royce limo stood out in the parking lot

She walked toward it. The driver got out from the passenger seat, respectfully opening the back door. Once Summer got in, he closed the door and stepped aside.

She settled into the seat. Fraser leaned back lazily, a cigarette between his long fingers. A cloud of smoke curled around his sharp features, blurring his face. The strong smell of tobacco filled the car in an instant.

Summer choked on the sudden wave of smoke and coughed a few times.

After a while, Fraser lowered his lashes and pressed the cigarette into the ashtray, snuffing out the burning ember.

Time seemed to freeze, and the car fell into complete silence.

Then, Fraser let out a mocking chuckle. "Why aren't you still up there? Why'd you come down?"

Chapter 159

Game

Summer wanted to explain, but his mocking tone stopped her.

Fraser felt his blood boiling when he saw her this way. He knew it was her first day at her new job today, so he came specially to give her a surprise. Who knew he'd see something like that-her ex-husband kneeling and begging for her forgiveness.

What a surprise, indeed.

Summer thought she had cut things off with Trevor completely. He was the one who suddenly showed up today, saying all that nonsense and asking for forgiveness. It wasn't like she told him to kneel. Fraser just happened to see it.

Thinking for a moment, she decided to ease the tension by starting with a lighter topic. "Why did you suddenly come here?"

Fraser lifted his gaze and gave her a glance. His voice was calm and cold. "Had a feeling early this morning that someone was sneaking around behind my back. Came over to check, and turns out my girlfriend is really good at playing around."

Summer felt a headache coming on. She pressed her fingers against her temple. "Fraser, can you talk properly?

Fraser smirked sarcastically. "What? I don't sound as gentle as him?"

Summer looked at Fraser and said steadily. "No matter how much I try to deny it, Trevor was my boyfriend. If that bothers you, there's nothing I can do to change it."

"Summer, so that's your explanation?" Fraser's gaze dropped, and his eyes turned cold.

Summer turned her head away, looking out the car window. Her lips pressed together with stubbornness. "If you don't trust me, then even if I explain, you won't listen.

Fraser suddenly reached out, pressing his paim against the back of her head, forcing her to face him. His cold locked

gaze onto hers. "Explain properly and see if I won't listen. Or do you just not want to explain? Are you feeling soft toward him?"

Summer struggled, but the space in the backseat was too small, and his presence completely surrounded her. "Can you stop being so childish?"

"Hah!" Fraser let out a cold laugh. I'm childish? You don't like seeing me, so why did you get in the car?"

Summer felt like they were both just arguing in circles. No matter what she said, it would be wrong. It was better to just let things cool down.

She pushed him away, reached for the door handle, and was just about to get out when Fraser's low and commanding voice rang from behind her. "Summer, I dare you to try stepping out of this car."

Could this man be any more controlling! He sat there mocking her the whole time, but when she wanted to leave, he wouldn't let

her!

Summer let go of the handle and sat back down, lowering her head, staring at the sapphire bracelet on her wrist.

After a moment, she turned the sapphire between her fingers and spoke slowly. "Fraser, remember when you were in Ameros? I called you and said that when you came back, we should have a proper talk."

Fraser's brows knitted together. He had a bad feeling about this. Just as he was about to tell her to stop talking, the next second, her clear voice echoed through the car. "I wanted to say is, let's break up."

The temperature in Fraser's eyes dropped bit by bit. His gaze darkened, emotions surging and colliding within him like a raging storm. Suddenly, he reached out and gripped her jaw, his palm pressing against the side of her neck.

Summer was forced to meet his sharp gaze. For the first time, she saw such deep coldness in his stare, as if she was a complete

Summer blinked, taking a while to find her voice. "Mr. Graham already has a fiancée and plenty of childhood sweethearts Why waste your time on me?" "Because I want to. Fraser smirked. His face looked even more striking, and he said, "Tm not done playing with you yet

Hearing that. Summer laughed coldly inside. She thought that after all this time. Fraser had at least started seeing her differently,

Even if he didn't love me, maybe he liked me, even just a little. But in the end, everything he had done... was just because it made himself happy. So to him, she had always just been a game.

That's right. Isn't that how it all started for me too? Then why have I slowly fallen deeper and deeper into it?

Chapter 160

Regretting It?

Summer wanted to turn away, but the bitterness surged up her nose, making her chest ache unbearably.

"What? Regretting it now?" Fraser was furious that this woman only knew how to push him away. His chest felt like it had been pierced by a sharp blade, bleeding profusely. The more it hurt, the more he wanted her to understand that she could only be hist

Summer bit her lip, her eyes burning, but she forced herself to stay calm. She smiled slightly. “I know the rules of the No need to remind me."

Fraser leaned in close, his lips brushing against her ear, whispering like a lover speaking sweet nothings. So, breaking up is only my decision to make

Even though she was angry, Summer's body still betrayed her, trembling from his touch. "Are you done? If you are, I'm going

to work

The next second. Fraser casually let go of her. Summer immediately grabbed the door handle and pushed it open. Behind her, his sexy voice reached her ears. "Be good and come to Ravenshire Boulevard tonight."

The car door was pulled open and then slammed shut.

Standing beside the limited-edition Rolls-Royce, Summer felt the wind lift the hem of her dress and tangle her hair.

A single teardrop in her eyes vanished into the air.

When Summer took the elevator up to Aspira Design Institute, she saw that Sienna had already returned with the drafts. Shet slumped in her seat, no longer the energetic person she had been in the morning.

Merry stood stiffly, her eyes darting around as she was too afraid to look directly at Summer.

Summer walked over, feeling like she had just fought a losing battle. She said flatly, I am that pathetic fiancée of Trevor's. But now, we've broken up."

Merry immediately realized she had been caught eavesdropping and quickly whispered, "Ms. Stewart, I won't gossip again."

Hearing the voices, Sienna lifted her head. "What are you guys talking about?"

By the time Summer arrived upstairs, she had already composed herself. "Nothing. How did your meeting go today?"

Sienna let out a sigh, looking completely deflated. “Summer, I think you should withdraw your investment. I don't want to drag you

down. I must be cursed-after my divorce, I lost all of the family's money, and now, even when I try to start my own business, I can't make it work."

Summer pulled out a chair and sat down beside her. "I just got here, and you're already trying to kick me out? That doesn't seem fair, Sienna. Besides, I'm a shareholder now. The rise and fall of this institute is partly my concern too."

Merry couldn't help but add, "Boss has been working so hard to secure the GloryPath Construction project. The big design firms got straight into the final round, while Aspira Design Institute didn't even qualify to compete against Havenbrook, a thy firm."

Hearing this, Sienna's shoulders slumped even further.

Merry stuck out her tongue, quickly trying to smooth things over. "Boss, don't be like this! Ms. Stewa with as
