Chapter 71
You Were My First
Summer heard those frigid words, and an abrupt wave of unease clenched her heart.
** Finished
How did Fraser know I went to try on wedding dresses? Was he there that day? Did he misunderstand my relationship with Trevor? Does he think / agreed to break up with Trevor but failed to follow through, so now he wants to cancel the remaining 500 million?
Summer quickly spoke. "I can explain. That day was an accident"
"What kind of accident?" Fraser's sharp gazes locked onto her, his tone laced with mockery. "Don't tell me you were forced into trying on a wedding dress?"
That day, she had indeed agreed to put it on. But only to get back at Trevor,
"No one forced me."
The moment those words left her lips, the temperature in the room seemed to plummet.
A chill surged through her, crawling up from the soles of her feet. She rushed to clarify, "It's not what you think. Trevor and I aren't together."
She added firmly, "I'm not someone who goes back on my word."
Fraser uncrossed his legs and rose to his full height.
Standing before her, he towered over her by an entire head. From a distance, it looked as though he had completely enveloped her in his shadow.
His gaze bore down on her, deep and unreadable. Then, without warning, he reached out, fingers tracing the delicate curve of her chin in a slow, deliberate caress before lifting it slightly with his index finger.
Summer felt the icy touch of his skin as he tilted her head back.
His movement was unhurried, almost gentle, yet the oppressive force he exuded was undeniable.
Fraser's voice was light, almost indifferent, but beneath that feigned calmness lurked a storm, deeper and more volatile than a raging sea.
"It's not what I think?" He sneered. "Trevor tried to send me your wedding invitation just a few days ago. Who knows? Maybe you'll be carrying his child and delivering in just a few days." His lips curled into a smirk. "Summer, are you really that good at putting on a show?"
They were too close.
His scent drifted over. It was sandalwood laced with the faintest trace of tobacco.
Familiar. Alluring. For a fleeting moment, Summer's mind wavered.
But when she heard the word "child," her mind snapped back into focus.
Am I some kind of deity with superpowers? How could I get pregnant and give birth to a child in a matter of days?

Summer screamed internally. As if I'd ever dare to make Havenbrook's Bossman a side piece.
Afraid this misunderstanding would cost her the remaining 500 million, she took a steadying breath, softened her tone, and coaxed, "You're not the other man."
With that, she subtly attempted to retreat, hoping to put some distance between them.
But in the next instant, a large hand gripped her waist. With a firm tug, she was pulled into an unyielding. ice-cold embrace.
Summer trembled slightly, her body tensing as she worried someone might walk in at any moment.
Fraser's eyes darkened as he studied her intently, as if trying to decipher her every thought.
"Why?"
Summer struggled, but his grip was unrelenting. Realizing she had no way out, she exhaled softly and closed her eyes. "You were my first."
Fraser froze.
His expression wavered for the briefest moment, clearly caught off guard. His gaze deepened, his eyes like an abyss, unreadable. He said nothing. Under his unwavering scrutiny, Summer felt her scalp tingle with discomfort.
She cleared her throat and explained, "That day, I officially broke up with Trevor. That's why... that's why it happened. You're not the other man.”
She would never have entangled herself with another man while still involved with Trevor. Even if she had been intoxicated that night.
Fraser watched her, his gaze trailing over the faint blush on her cheeks, the shimmering hesitance in her eyes. She looked flustered, like a startled fawn, unsure whether to run or stay.
A slow, amused smile tugged at his lips. "So, Ms. Stewart, are you saying you want me to take responsibility?"
Summer's eyes widened slightly. That wasn't what she meant.
She only wanted Fraser to understand that she had broken up with Trevor, and that she wasn't reckless.
She didn't want him to think she was a liar.
But then, in a lazy drawl, he chuckled. "If anyone should take responsibility, it's
you."
Summer blinked, momentarily stunned, staring at him in confusion.
Fraser reached out with ease, his fingertips grazing her earlobe. It was warm and
soft.
Chapter 72
Be My Girlfriend
A man like Fraser had actually experienced his first time that day.
Finished
Logically speaking, every woman in Havenbrook would have jumped at the chance to share his bed. The idea that it had been his first time seemed inconceivable.
Summer's voice was barely above a whisper. "But you were... incredible."
It didn't feel like the first time. If anything, he seemed like the type of seasoned player who thrived in the
game.
Fraser's relaxed tone carried a trace of amusement. "Ever considered the possibility that I've always been a fast learner?"
The well-defined hand resting on Summer's back suddenly exerted force, pulling her tightly against him.
He lowered his head, his cool lips ghosting over her flushed cheek before trailing toward her car. His voice was a sultry murmur. "But it's such an honor to earn your praise. I'll make sure to improve next time."
His warm breath seared against her eardrum, sending heat surging through her veins.
And with Fraser shamelessly spouting such words in broad daylight, Summer's face erupted in crimson.
A startled gasp slipped out. "Don't say that... Just don't."
Fraser's usual sharpness faded, his gaze turning liquid, impossibly gentle. He pressed a fingertip lightly against her trembling lips.
Toying with her, he whispered, "Keep it down, my office isn't soundproof. If you want to make noise, next time we can find somewhere more private, where you can be as loud as you want."
The president's office isn't soundproof? What is this? A paper-thin building?
Summer wasn't buying it, but the thought of anyone overhearing made her wary. She instinctively kept her voice down.
Frustrated, she pounded a small fist against his chest.
The action was unintentionally coquettish, exactly the kind of thing a girlfriend would do when throwing a sulky tantrum.
Realizing it too late, she quickly withdrew her hand.
Seeing that Fraser didn't seem to mind, she finally relaxed.
Fraser was impossible. Every time she was around him, he effortlessly pulled her into his rhythm.
Noticing the teasing glint in Fraser's eyes, Summer figured this was her chance to get to the real reason she was here.
Cautiously, she broached the topic. "Can you transfer the remaining 500 million to Stewart Group?"
Maybe it was because they'd already shared a bed a few times, but this time, Summer understood exactly
what he meant.
What a shameless man.
She hesitated, but they'd already crossed that line. There was no point in
pretending to be modest now. She was here for the money, after all.
Rising on tiptoe, she brushed the lightest of kisses against his lips.
Her ears burned. "Is that enough?"
Fraser's voice, deep and magnetic, held a teasing warmth.
"Summer, one kiss for 500 million? What a bargain. How about I kiss you, and you pay me 500 million instead?"
Summer scowled. He was playing with her. Irritated, she shoved him away. "Forget it."
"You're giving up that easily?" Fraser's lips quirked.
Her temper flared. She pressed her lips into a thin line. "If I don't give up, am I just supposed to stand here and let you keep teasing me?"
"Ms. Stewart, that's no way to ask for a favor."
She met his gaze. “Mr. Graham, you're obviously toying with me. You promised Stewart Group a billion, but after transferring half, you stopped. You're forcing me to come to you."
Fraser showed no irritation. His voice was casual, light, laced with amusement. "Sharp thinking today."
Summer met his gaze head-on. "What's your real reason for doing this?"
Fraser's dark eyes locked onto hers, an unreadable intensity simmering beneath. "What do you think?"
Maybe it was the weight of his gaze-too scorching, too direct-but Summer's heart stuttered. She turned her head away, feigning indifference. "I'm not a mind reader. How should I know what you're thinking?"
Fraser studied her, silent.
He had been waiting for her to come to him on her own. He had wanted to give her time.
But then he saw that wedding dress photo, the possibility of her forgiving Trevor,
of becoming his bride, had driven him to madness.
The idea that this time might be false-but the next time could be real-was unbearable.
Fraser realized he could no longer wait.
If she wouldn't come to him willingly, then he would simply keep her by his side,
until she had no choice but to fall for him.
His gaze darkened. His voice was low certain "Summer I want you to be mv Øirlfriend"

She wasn't sure what she felt.
But deep inside, something in her heart shuddered.

Summer understood that most men harbored a possessiveness over things they had once claimed as their
Own..
On top of that, Fraser had previously mentioned how well their bodies aligned. That was likely why he had made this request.
She wasn't foolish enough to assume Fraser had developed feelings for her.
Besides, she had her own motives. She needed Jasper to abandon the idea of tying her to the Larson family through marriage. At this moment, Fraser was undeniably her best option.
She hesitated for a few seconds.
Fraser's breathing deepened slightly, his gaze unwavering as he studied her.
The next second, Summer lifted her eyes, her clear gaze locking onto his.
"Alright."
Fraser's jet-black eyes flashed with sudden intensity, his concealed fervor barely restrained.
Summer continued, "But we need to establish some rules."
Fraser's pulse thundered at her single word of agreement.
He took a deep breath. Right now, no matter what conditions she set, he was willing to concede to all of them.
"Go on."
"During our relationship, you cannot be involved with other women."
Summer had already endured Trevor's first love, Peyton, and she had no desire to relive that kind of humiliation. Even though she had learned to guard her heart, the sting of being discarded still lingered.
She added, "Of course, I will abide by the same rule."
"Fine."
Fraser had no interest in other women. From beginning to end, he had only ever wanted her.
"And if either of us finds someone we genuinely love and care about, we should be free to walk away."
Fraser's brows knitted together. Only now did he grasp her true intent. She had entered this arrangement with the expectation of an eventual separation.

"Fraser, we're not together out of love. Giving each other space seems like the best approach, doesn't it?
She never dared to hope that Fraser would fall for her. His status and background were worlds apart from hers. There was an untouchable distance. She refused to become another fool groveling for affection.
If Fraser ever found someone he truly wanted to be with, then they would simply part ways.
Fraser's sharp eyes narrowed, his sculpted face unreadable. He knew she didn't love him. Not yet. But that didn't matter. As long as she agreed to stay by his side, he would make sure she gradually accepted him.
In the past, he had neither the position nor the right to shield her from harm. He had stood by while others mistreated her. But from now on, he will protect her. He would protect Summer,
Summer tensed slightly, uncertain whether Fraser would agree,
Then, his deep voice resonated above her, low and husky, like gravel crushed beneath heavy footsteps.
"Well, let's give it a try."
A pause. Then, he added nonchalantly, "But I have one condition as well." "What condition?"
Fraser's tone was lazy, almost indifferent. "This relationship has to be public."
Summer blinked. So, the whole other man fiasco really did a number on this Bossman.
She couldn't suppress a chuckle.
Her eyes glimmered with amusement. "Alright."
"Good. Then, Ms. Stewart, it's time for you to fulfill your role as my girlfriend."
The moment the words left his lips, Summer barely had time to react before Fraser's face closed in.
A second later, warmth crashed against her lips.
A searing kiss stole her breath.
Summer hadn't expected Fraser to kiss her so abruptly.
His intense presence filled her senses, his domineering warmth invading her mouth, leaving her breathless.
Her body tensed, frozen in place as he kissed her in the middle of his office.
Fraser pressed a brief, lingering kiss to her lips before pulling back slightly, his face mere inches away. His dark eyes gleamed with unmistakable desire, the depth of his gaze like an abyss ready to swallow her whole.
Noticing her stunned expression and the faint pink tint rising to her cheeks, Fraser suddenly chuckled.
"Summer, remember to close your eyes when you kiss me."
He Will Protect Her
Lowering his head again, Fraser kissed her once more. This time with tenderness.

His lips and tongue moved with deliberate, intoxicating skill, savoring her sweetness, pulling her into his rhythm.
Under his guidance, Summer finally closed her eyes. The heated, lingering touch sent shivers down her spine, making her knees weak.
Just as she felt herself getting lost in the moment, a sudden knock echoed against the office door.
Summer snapped back to reality, her face instantly flushing a deep shade of red.

She immediately lowered her head. At some point, the top button of her blouse had come undone.
What a shameless man!
With swift fingers, Summer fastened the button and tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ear.
Fraser, leaning lazily to the side, didn't even lift his eyes as he drawled, "What are you so afraid of? No one would dare come in."
Summer shot him a sharp glare.
If word got out that Fraser had spent hours alone in his office with a woman, without so much as opening the door, people would assume she was desperate.
Fraser, however, couldn't be bothered to care, but he did wonder who had the audacity to interrupt him at that moment.
Still, not wanting Summer to feel too uncomfortable, he casually adjusted his suit jacket before striding toward the door.
He pulled it open, his tall, imposing frame filling the doorway.
Standing outside was Shawn Graham, grinning from ear to ear.
Shawn was Fraser's cousin and the director of the project department at the Graham Group.
When he had returned to the company from the Easthaven project site, he passed the front desk and overheard a few employees excitedly gossiping.
Curious, he slowed his steps, casually eavesdropping.
To his surprise, the subject of their discussion was Fraser.
Apparently, Fraser's assistant had personally gone down to escort a woman up to his office.
Shawn raised an eyebrow.
With Fraser's usual demeanor, there was no way he would suddenly pay such particular attention to a
woman.
Ever since returning from abroad, Fraser had indulged in a reckless lifestyle, constantly surrounded by breathtakingly beautiful women.
Yet, he remained notoriously indifferent.
Forget physical intimacy, he wouldn't even tolerate a single stray hair clinging to him.
Once, a woman with no sense tried to cozy up to him as he lounged idly on the sofa.
Hiding a Woman
After that incident, no woman dared to provoke the cold and untouchable Havenbrook Bossman.
Shawn was burning with curiosity about who had managed to enter Fraser's office.

Coincidentally, he had a document requiring Fraser's signature, so he eagerly made his way upstairs.
When the door swung open, Fraser stood in the way, completely obstructing the view inside.
Shawn craned his neck, glancing left, then right.
Is he hiding a woman? And doing it this well?
Fraser, irritated by the intrusion, spoke coolly. "You're looking so intently. Should I just let you have my office instead?"
His tone was casual, but Shawn knew better. This was Fraser's warning before he lost his patience.
Shawn chuckled awkwardly. "Well, I just came to update you on the Easthaven project. I need your signature on this document. How about we discuss it inside?"
Fraser snatched the file, scrawled his signature in bold, decisive strokes, and tossed it back. "Now get lost."
Shawn caught the document. "I heard there's a stunning lady..."
"Do you still want to keep your eyes?" Fraser cut him off and slammed the door in his face.
Shawn barely stepped back in time. Any slower, and his nose would've taken the
hit.
Isn't this a bit excessive? He wouldn't even let me catch a glimpse?
Inside, Fraser walked straight to the couch and sank down.
No project mattered more than her.
His gaze darkened as he locked eyes with Summer. With a slight curl of his finger,
he beckoned. "Come here."
Summer didn't hesitate, stepping forward.
She intended to sit beside him, but before she could, he suddenly pulled her onto his lap.
She found herself staring into his deep, obsidian eyes, tracing the sharp angles of his nose, the thin curve of his lips.
They say men with thin lips can't be trusted. Is that true?
But one thing was certain. The man in front of her was dangerously attractive.
Summer cupped his face in her hands.
Fraser's lashes fluttered as he leaned in, prepared to reclaim the kiss that had been interrupted earlier.
Hiding a Woman
Fraser let out a breath of laughter, rolling his eyes.

This woman truly has no sense of romance. It seems she won't even be serious in
bed until this money issue is resolved.
Without hesitation, he picked up his phone and dialed the finance director.
"Transfer 500 million to Stewart Group. Now."
After hanging up, he turned back to Summer, his expression expectant, as if demanding a reward. "Satisfied?"
Chapter 75
Need to Be With Her
Summer's phone chimed with a message. She glanced at the screen.
It was from her assistant, Quinn, informing her that the Stewart Group had
received the investment from the Graham Group.
A faint smile curved Summer's lips. She cupped his face, leaned in, and placed a light kiss on his cheek, as if offering a reward.
"Thank you."
Peyton emerged from the operating room. As soon as she opened her eyes, she saw Josh standing beside her, his gaze warm and gentle.
Josh, barely able to contain his excitement, said, "Peyton, the surgery was a success. From now on, you're a normal healthy person."
She was dressed in a hospital gown, her face still carrying the fragile air of someone who had just woken up. Yet, with her long hair cascading down her back, she still looked delicate and pitiable.
She attempted to sit up. "Where's Trevor?"
Josh steadied her, his hand brushing over her hair. "He came to see you during the surgery. Once he heard it was successful, he had to leave for something urgent. I'll let him know you're awake."
"No, Josh, I'll call him myself."
Josh reached out to stop her, but it was too late. Peyton had already dialed.
The phone rang for a long time before it finally connected.
Her soft voice trembled. "Trevor..."
A man's cool, detached voice came through the receiver. "You're awake."
"Why aren't you here? I thought you'd be the first person I'd see..." Her voice wavered, fragile and pleading, the kind of voice that could make a man's heart ache with sympathy.
Trevor lifted his gaze from a stack of documents. "Congratulations. The surgery was a success."
Peyton's intuition immediately told her something was wrong.
Before, even if she had just a fever, Trevor would stay by her side all night.
Yet now, after something as monumental as a heart transplant, he had simply left once the operation was
over.
She hesitated before cautiously asking, "Trevor, will you still visit me like before?"
Trevor didn't answer. Instead, he said, "You're healthy now. You can be independent. And I need to be with Summer."
Tears streamed down Peyton's face. A sob escaped her lips.
Trevor remained silent, listening. After a long pause, he finally said, "Peyton, you should focus on resting. I hope you can start a new life."
Then, the call ended.
Peyton's grip tightened around the phone before she flung it across the room. Her eyes, wide with fury, had lost all traces of vulnerability. "Josh, you knew, didn't you?"
Josh stood beside her, his voice gentle with consolation. "Peyton, you still have me. If you're willing, I'll take care of you."
"I don't want you!" Peyton's gaze turned icy, her voice cold as steel. "I won't just let Trevor go."
For so long, she had lived with an inferiority complex, believing her weak body made her unworthy of someone as perfect as Trevor. She had clung to him through his pity, relying on his compassion to keep him by her side.
But now, she was whole. She was just as healthy as Summer. And she wasn't any less beautiful, perhaps even more gentle, more considerate than Summer.
Trevor had simply been momentarily blinded by Summer. Peyton believed that once she reentered his life, he would realize that she was the one truly meant for him.
Summer returned to the office and pushed open the door. Inside, Jasper sat on the couch, waiting for her.
"Dad, what brings you here?"
Jasper looked up from his newspaper, watching as she walked in.
He hadn't expected Summer's visit to the Graham Group to secure the remaining 500 million dollars investment so quickly.
In the past, he had felt little attachment to this daughter. Whether she existed or not had never truly mattered to him.
What he valued was someone who could bring him results, someone who could serve the interests of Stewart Group.
A rare, approving smile appeared on Jasper's face. "Summer, you handled this well."
Summer, of course, knew her ever cunning dad wouldn't come just to praise her. "Just say what you came for. I have shares now, so this was my responsibility." Jasper's smile deepened. As expected from my daughter. Decisive, pragmatic, always prioritizing interests above all else. "I want to ask, what's your relationship with Fraser?"
I Need to Be With Her
The first time, the Graham Group had insisted Summer personally sign the contract.
The second time, it was only after her visit that the funds were secured.

She had some idea of how Jasper had used her before, leveraging Trevor's influence to bypass obstacles.
She couldn't fathom how Trevor had tolerated Jasper taking advantage of him time and time again.
Summer lifted her gaze slightly. "What kind of relationship could we possibly have?"
Jasper didn't press her. He only cared about the outcome.
He stood up and got straight to the point. "Belvare's luxury brand, Marloux, is preparing to enter the domestic market. If we can secure them as a tenant in Stewart Group's malls, it will elevate the company to a whole new level."
His gaze locked onto Summer. "I want you to negotiate this deal."
Marloux was the pinnacle of Belvare's luxury brands and had never entered the domestic market before.
Even if it did, it would only be in the most elite shopping centers or exclusive luxury districts. The likelihood of it settling in a Stewart Group mall was slim.
Which meant the challenge was significant.
It seemed the billion-dollar investment had only fueled Jasper's ambition further.
Noticing Summer deep in thought, Jasper smirked and dangled an irresistible incentive.
"If you close this deal, the position of Stewart Group's director is yours."
Summer arched a brow.
Jasper truly understood her desires. He knew exactly how to use that title to tempt her.
It wasn't entirely out of the question to give it a shot.
Seeing her interest, Jasper continued, "It won't be difficult. I've already looked into it. Marloux' domestic representative is a friend of Trevor's. As long as you and Trevor..."
Before he could finish, Summer impatiently cut him off. "Dad, how I handle it is my concern. You don't need to interfere. You've always cared only about the result, haven't you?"
There was no way she would reach out to Trevor.
Jasper gave her a knowing look and patted her shoulder. "Alright. Then I'll wait for your good news."
After he left, Summer did some research on Marloux.
Only in recent years had it begun modernizing its appeal, though it remained a high-end luxury brand tailored to the wealthy. For a brand of this caliber to enter the domestic market, the prestige of the shopping mall would be a critical factor.
Stewart Group's malls were comprehensive, not specialized luxury shopping centers.
That made the challenge even greater.
But if Marloux could be brought in, it would mark a major step forward for the entire Stewart Group.
Summer mulled over the problem but found no clear solution.
Stewart Group lacked any distinct advantage or leverage.
Then, out of nowhere, Fraser's strikingly handsome face surfaced in her mind.
He was the head of Havenbrook's most elite family. If he was willing to help, securing this deal would be effortless..
But Summer quickly shook her head.
That billion-dollar investment had already bound her to Fraser before she even realized it.
If she sought his help again, she'd be completely at his mercy.
Forget it.
She'd find another way.
Outside, the sky had darkened. It was nearly seven o'clock.
That afternoon, Fraser had sent her a message. "Come to my place."
After leaving the office, Summer hesitated for a moment before driving to Skycrest Villa.
On the way there, her emotions were conflicted.
The last time she had gone to Skycrest Villa, she had been seeking a favor. This time, she was going as his girlfriend.
As she approached the entrance, the security guards seemed to recognize her car. The intricate wrought-iron gates swung open without delay.
Summer didn't drive straight in.
She wasn't sure if it was just her imagination, but in the rearview mirror, she thought she caught the security guards exchanging a knowing glance.
Following the designated path, she pulled into the expansive, grand parking lot.
Rows of luxury cars-at least a dozen limited-edition models-stood in pristine silence.

How much is all this worth? Any one of these vehicles must cost at least ten million. Given our current relationship, can I borrow one for a spin?
Summer smirked slightly, pressing her lips together, then grabbed her keys and shut the car door.
As she turned around, she saw Fraser leaning casually against the wall, arms crossed, watching her with an amused expression.
Under the soft glow of the moonlight, his gaze carried a warmth that seemed almost intoxicating.
Their eyes met unexpectedly, colliding in midair.

The lingering nervousness from the drive over swelled in an instant, amplifying the unease deep within her
heart.
A crisp autumn breeze howled past, carrying a trace of chill. The hem of Summer's light gray dress fluttered, casting dappled shadows beneath the dim evening glow.
She hadn't even managed to speak when, suddenly, Pudding came charging from a distance, shattering the awkward silence.
All she saw was a blur of soft, white fur racing toward her at full sprint, like a speeding snowball.
Her body reacted instinctively. She reached out to catch it.
At that moment, Fraser's unhurried, lazy voice commanded, "Pudding, stop."
Just like that, the anticipated impact never came.
Pudding skidded to an abrupt halt, mere inches from Summer.
His round, glossy eyes shimmered with unshed tears, gazing up at her pitifully.
Summer's heart softened. She crouched down, gently stroking Pudding's plush fur. "Pudding, good boy. It's alright."
Fraser strolled forward, his gait leisurely, his voice laced with amusement. "With your weight, you'd flatten her. You seriously don't know your own size?"
Pudding barked indignantly.
Summer shot Fraser a disapproving look. "Don't be mean to him."
"Me? Mean?" Fraser arched a brow, regarding her with mild amusement. "Are you even aware of your own weight?"
Summer huffed. "I have a perfectly standard figure."
This man is always saying I'm too thin. Doesn't he know that at five-foot-five and 95 pounds, I have the ideal figure?
Fraser's gaze swept over her, slow and deliberate. His deep, husky voice lowered near her ear, laced with an ambiguous edge. "Well, very standard."
At his words, a faint blush crept up Summer's ears.
Fraser reached out and, in a natural, intimate motion, took her hand.
His palm was broad and warm, effortlessly enveloping her slender fingers.
Summer stiffened slightly. She still wasn't used to this.
Fraser didn't allow it. At first, his hand merely wrapped around hers, but then his
fingers slid between hers. interlocking them firmly.
Summer had never held hands like this before.
It felt intimate, deeply, unmistakably so. The sheer closeness sent her pulse skittering.
Fraser lowered his gaze, lips curling ever so slightly, his eyes glinting with mischief. "Do you feel hot?"
Summer's clear eyes flicked up, shooting him a glare.
This man was doing it on purpose.
She refused to give him the satisfaction. "I'm just hungry."
Fraser let out a low chuckle, his fingers tightening around hers as he led her inside.
Beneath the moonlit sky, the shadows of a man, a woman, and a dog stretched long and languid against the pavement, forming an unexpectedly harmonious picture.
Passing servants caught sight of them and instinctively widened their eyes before quickly lowering their heads.
"This is the first time I've seen Mr. Graham holding a woman's hand. Isn't she the same lady from last time?"
"I told you, she's not ordinary. Even Pudding, who never gets close to anyone, sticks to her like she's his owner."
"Say no more. Looks like the Graham family is about to welcome a new lady."
Inside the villa's dining room, a sleek, modern dining table is elegantly set with a lavish spread-barbecue ribs, fish and chips, black pepper crab, and beef stew.
The rich aroma filled the air, tantalizing and mouthwatering.
Summer's eyes widened slightly, her stomach stirring in anticipation. "You made all this?"
"Didn't know what you liked, so I just threw a few things together." Fraser's lips curled into a faint smile, his voice laced with quiet amusement. "But I made plenty
of ribs this time, so you won't have to fight Pudding for them."
"I never fought Pudding for food!"
She had simply taken a few extra pieces last time. It was hardly a crime.
Fraser's eyes glimmered with laughter. "Alright, my mistake."
With effortless grace, he pulled out a chair for her.
Then as if it were second nature, he nicked un a plate and carefully selected
several nerfectly glazed ribs Pudding's tail wagged excitedly as he trotted over, obediently settling beside them before digging in with evident delight.
Summer quietly ate her meal.
Her gaze drifted, landing on Fraser's hands as he reached for a crab-cracking tool. His long, well-defined fingers moved with practiced ease, meticulously extracting the delicate crab meat.
Chapter 78
The Man You Love Most
"Is this for me?" Summer asked.
Fraser arched a refined brow, set aside the crab-cracking tool, and reached for a damp towel. With unhurried grace, he wiped his fingers clean.
Then, extending his smooth, jade-like fingers, he gently brushed away a tiny speck of food at the corner of Summer's lips.
A trace of indulgence flickered in his deep, entrancing eyes as he gazed at her in silence.
"Summer, you need to get used to this. You're my girlfriend, alright?"
Summer blinked, then used her fork to sample the crab meat. It was fresh, succulent, and subtly sweet.
Just then, her phone rang. She glanced at the screen. It was Trevor's sister, Bethany Larson.
Bethany had been her classmate, and once upon a time, they were quite close. She had even played wingwoman, helping Summer pursue Trevor. But after Bethany left for her studies abroad, their contact dwindled.
The phone kept ringing.
Summer's gaze flickered subtly toward the man across from her.
His dark, inscrutable eyes reflected the opulent glow of the chandelier, making it impossible to decipher his thoughts.
She swiftly declined the call.
Almost instantly, the phone rang again.
Fraser lounged against the couch, his long fingers tapping idly against his knee. His voice was casual, laced with amusement.
"Not answering?"
Summer pressed her lips tog her, steeled herself, and picked up the call.
A frantic female voice burst through the receiver. "Summer, Trevor is sick. Can you come see him?"
Bethany's voice was loud.
Seated right beside her, Fraser caught every word with ease.
Summer lifted a hand instinctively, as if to block the sound, but it was a futile gesture.
The grand, lavishly adorned living room was eerily silent, save for the two of them.
She lowered her voice. "Bethany, I don't have time right now."
She hadn't expected to come back and immediately hear that Trevor had collapsed at work and been rushed to the hospital.
Even more surprising was that he had forbidden the doctors from informing the Larson family.
Aside from a handful of close friends, only Bethany knew.
The doctor's diagnosis was severe migraines and a perforated stomach ulcer, the consequences of relentless overwork and erratic cating habits.
Just then, a nurse exited the room after adjusting an IV drip.
Bethany peered through the slight gap in the door.
Inside, Trevor lay pale and motionless on the hospital bed.
His long fingers clutched his abdomen, brows tightly knit in pain.
Even in his weakened state, his sharp, chiseled features remained. But there was an unfamiliar vulnerability to him now.
Back then, even the slightest discomfort would have Summer fussing over him, treating him like a fragile treasure, tending to his every need with unwavering devotion.
Yet now, as Bethany entered the hospital room earlier, she saw only Bobby and Caleb.
Summer was nowhere to be found.
"Where's Summer? Trevor, you're in the hospital, why isn't she here?"
Bobby let out a disdainful scoff. “Summer? She's breaking up with Trevor."
Bethany was incredulous.
Summer had loved Trevor with a fervor that bordered on recklessness. She would have laid down her life
for him.
And Bethany had even been one of the people who brought them together. "That's impossible."
Bobby exhaled sharply, his tone dripping with derision. "Why not? She's secured her place in the Stewart family, hasn't she? And who do you think she relied on to get there? Trevor's fiancée status. But now? She's all high and mighty, throwing tantrums at every turn, thinking she can control him."
Trevor's frown deepened. His breathing was labored as he rasped out, "Shut up.” Bethany refused to believe them.
That was why she had stepped out to make this call.
The Man You Love Most
The air in the villa turned ice-cold.
Fraser leaned back against the chair, lowering his gaze. A slow, knowing chuckle escaped his lips.
The man she loves most? That woman must be delusional.

Summer cleared her throat, lifting her eyes cautiously. Fraser had barely moved, yet an inexplicable chill ran down her spine.
Her grip tightened around the phone as she spoke with deliberate clarity. "Bethany, Trevor and I are over. He's in the hospital, but the doctors will take care of him. That's all. We'll talk another time."
Without hesitation, she ended the call.
Any longer, and she was sure the very air around her would crystallize into ice.
“Hello? Summer? Summer!" Bethany called into the receiver, but the line was already dead.
Determined, she dialed again.
Chapter 79
You Are Overstepping
The phone was off. Bethany was stunned.
Finished
What the hell is Trevor doing? He's pushed away a woman like Summer- someone who loves him deeply-so much that she refuses to see him even when he's sick. Something is seriously wrong!
Frustrated, Bethany stepped inside, her three-inch heels clicking sharply against the floor.
Trevor heard the door open and instinctively turned his gaze toward the sound. His dark eyes flickered with a glimmer of anticipation, but the moment he saw it was Bethany, the light in them dimmed, disappearing without a trace.
Bethany strode to the hospital bed, hands on her hips. "Trevor, what the hell did you do? Summer is a wonderful person. She loves you, yet she's breaking up with you?"
Bobby, ever the instigator, chimed in with exaggerated enthusiasm.
"Oh, Trevor didn't do much. He just staged a fake wedding with Peyton, abandoned Summer on her birthday to be with Peyton, publicly rushed to save someone else right in front of her, and..."
Trevor's expression turned dangerously dark, his voice sharp as a blade. "Bobby, get the hell out!"
His tone was so frigid, so devoid of warmth, that Bobby shuddered involuntarily. "Alright, no need to get worked up." Bobby raised his hands in surrender. "I'm just saying, there are plenty of women out there, you'll land another one in no time." Bethany's fury erupted.
Is Trevor an idiot? How could he treat Summer this way?
As a woman, just hearing about it was infuriating.
"Peyton? Is she your first love? D*mn it! Is she the one clinging to you? That bitch! No, it takes two to tango! You treated Summer like this, and you expect her to stay? She was right to leave. And you know what? I'm done wasting my breath on you too."
With that, she snatched up her handbag, spun on her heel, and stormed out, her high heels hammering against the floor with each step.
Caleb shrugged, walked up to Trevor, and patted his shoulder. "Trevor, my condolences."
Trevor shot him a withering glare, his voice laced with cold sarcasm. "I'm truly blessed with friends like you."
Unfazed, Caleb casually pulled a book from nowhere and tossed it onto Trevor's lap. "Since you're stuck in bed, you might as well read this. Follow its advice, and maybe Summer will come back."
Trevor glanced at the title. "100 Rules for Winning Back Your Wife."
The pain in his body had already been unbearable. Now, somehow, it felt even
worse.
Fraser smirked coldly, his voice low and laced with amusement. "He called you when he was sick? Since when are you a doctor?"
"He probably dialed the wrong number." Summer lied effortlessly, unwilling to dwell on the topic. "I turned him down anyway."
Fraser studied her intently for a few moments before speaking. "If I weren't here, would you still have refused?"
Summer remained silent.
The air between them thickened, turning heavy with unspoken tension.
Fraser reached out, grasped her chin, and forced her to meet his gaze. "Answer me."
Summer stared at him steadily, her voice calm yet unwavering. "Fraser, even in a relationship, people need their own space. Don't you think you're overstepping?" He let out a cold chuckle. "Overstepping?"
The tension ignited instantly, both of their presences brimming with defiance. Just then, a piercing ringtone shattered the stifling silence.
Fraser cast a glance at his phone, then shifted his gaze toward Summer's face. Her fair complexion was as cold as ice, her eyes carrying a quiet, indiscernible defiance.
He released her chin, stood up, and strode toward the marble balcony to take the call.
Summer lowered her head and continued eating, but every so often, her gaze drifted toward the glass window, catching glimpses of the man outside.
Fraser stood against the backdrop of the night, his tall, lean frame enveloped in darkness.
With his broad shoulders and long legs, dressed in an all-black casual outfit, he usually exuded a lazy arrogance, an air of effortless mischief.
But tonight, there was an unapproachable chill to him, an oppressive stillness that made others hesitate to draw near.
Summer had to admit, she wasn't ready for a new relationship.
She thought about it carefully. If this were Trevor, she already knew exactly what she would have done.
No, she wouldn't have even let him get angry. The moment he furrowed his brow, she would have immediately coaxed him, softened her voice, done everything in her power to please him.
That was exactly why she needed to change.
Her gaze lingered on Fraser, standing motionless on the balcony.
Summer realized that she couldn't carry the burdens of her past into a new relationship.
Chapter 80
You Are My Boyfriend
Pudding let out a soft "woof," as if to say, "Daddy is jealous!"
Summer followed the sound, glanced down at Pudding, and stroked its head. "Good boy. Looks like your daddy is a little upset."
With quiet understanding, Pudding pressed its fluffy head against her palm.
Summer's gaze swept over the lavish spread on the table, then lingered on the freshly peeled crab meat Fraser had meticulously prepared.
She wasn't heartless.
There was no reason to let a lifeless ex cast a shadow over her present happiness.
After a moment, Summer set down her fork, rose to her feet, and walked toward the balcony.
As she drew closer, she heard the low timbre of Fraser's voice, tinged with cold fury.
"Are you telling me that without me, this project would collapse? Then why am I paying you experts such exorbitant salaries? To sit around and be catered to? How exactly are you doing your jobs?"
On the other end of the line, the so-called experts were silent, too intimidated to utter a sound.
Fraser's sharp reprimand had left them utterly cowed, not daring even to breathe too loudly.
He was always rigorous when it came to work, yet even in past crises, he had never unleashed his temper quite like this.
Now, all they could do was nod meekly, stammering, "We'll handle it properly. Please rest assured, sir!"
Fraser's keen gaze flicked toward Summer's slender figure. His expression remained impassive as he spoke into the phone, his tone cold and decisive.
"That's it. I want to see progress by tomorrow."
With that, he ended the call.
The next second, a pair of soft, delicate arms wound around his waist like silk ribbons, holding him tightly.
"Are you upset?" Summer's voice was like wine infused with the sweetness of ripe fruit-velvety, intoxicating, utterly different from her usual tone.
That one simple question dissolved his frustration like mist before the morning sun.
D*mn it!
He was utterly helpless when it came to her.
Yet his face betrayed nothing.
You Are My Boyfriend
Finished Summer suddenly found his temperament amusing. At times, he was just like Pudding-adorably sullen.
"But you are my boyfriend, not some random person. Look, I even turned off my phone. That proves I didn't want to go," she explained patiently. "I was with him for a long time, so some friends might still misunderstand. I'll clear things up..."
Before she could finish, Fraser turned, dipped his head, and captured her lips in a kiss.
Those simple words-my boyfriend-sent a tremor through him.
Fraser realized his possessiveness over Summer ran far deeper than even he had imagined.
His kiss was firm, unrelenting, leaving no room for resistance.
Summer instinctively responded, her arms draping around his neck.
But the man kissed with the hunger of a starved predator, devouring her sweetness with reckless abandon.
Beneath the moonlight, they melted into each other, lost in the moment.
By the time Fraser finally let her go, Summer was breathless, flushed, her lips tingling from the intensity of his touch.
She leaned against his chest, gasping softly, and elbowed him in protest.
Her lips were swollen.
Fraser's expression eased slightly. He brushed his fingers through her hair and murmured, “Next time, just say you're having dinner with your boyfriend. Understood?"
Summer curved her lips into a smirk. "Bossman, your possessiveness is truly something else."
Fraser's eyes darkened, his voice dropping to a husky murmur, his Adam's apple shifting.
The night was still young. That was merely the appetizer. His appetite was far from sated.
He gazed down at the woman in his arms. "Are you full?"
"Yeah."
"Good. Now it's my turn."
With that, Fraser effortlessly lifted her into his arms.
Summer barely had time to react before her body was weightless, suspended in midair. Instinctively, she tightened her grip around his neck.
At that moment, their eyes locked.
His gaze was dark and fathomless, filled with a dangerous, predatory heat.
The raw desire burning within him was almost tangible, searing through her like wildfire.
You Are My Boyfriend
Even after all this time, a nervous thrill still curled in the pit of her stomach.
Fraser carried her into the bedroom, his strides long and unwavering.
