Ch. 1001..1010
Loving You In Secret Chapter 1001-Aurora pretended to be shocked to see the two. ’Oh, my, Miss Shaw. Did you not get anything?"
Elijah had a dark expression after being bullied throughout the auction and said, ’Vicky, let's go."
Vicky did not want to waste any time on Aurora and ignored her completely. "Sure. Let's go."
Aurora's face flushed in anger when Vicky ignored her. Meanwhile, Tyler watched the two leave with a dark look in his eyes.
Vicky sat in the passenger seat, quietly gazing at the moonlight outside the window.
Before long, Elijah finished his call and returned to the car.
Vicky noticed that he seemed different from his usual self and asked casually, "What's wrong? Did something happen?"
"It's nothing. Just some tricky business matters at the company," Elijah replied, unwilling to share more details. So, Vicky did not press further.
Elijah started the car and drove Vicky back home. After the car was parked in front of the house, Vicky moved to get out and leave when Elijah suddenly called out to her, "Vicky."
She paused and asked, "What is it?"
Elijah's face had a conflicted expression as he struggled to find the right words. "There's something... I'm not sure if I should tell you..."
Vicky had grown fond of Elijah's family, and her impression of Elijah was quite good, so she encouraged him to speak up. "It's okay, you can tell me."
Elijah's gaze wavered as he spoke up, "Well... Although we're pretending to be engaged, you know that the outside world thinks it's real. You know how often the media pays attention to me. As my fiancee, you're likely to attract media attention too. You've experienced how the media exaggerates things, so..." he trailed off. He then looked at Vicky and asked, "Can you please keep your distance from other men while we are still pretending to be engaged?"
Vicky quickly understood. "You mean... Noah, my senior back in school?" She smiled and continued, "Don't worry. Noah and I are just ordinary friends. He has a crush on Jennifer from our studio and has been pursuing her recently."
Elijah let out a sigh of relief but insisted, "I did not misunderstand your relationship with Noah, but the media loves to create speculation. Otherwise, my ex-fiancee wouldn't have broken up with me.'
The mention of Elijah's failed engagement stirred a sense of guilt in Vicky's heart. She nodded and replied, "I understand what you mean. Don't worry. I won't get too close to other men during our partnership."
"That's great."
As Vicky was about to get out of the car and close the door, she remembered that she had not bought a gift for Elijah's grandmother yet. "Elijah, are you free tomorrow?"
Elijah paused for a moment and asked, "What's the matter?"
"Let's pick a gift for Grandma together tomorrow. Isn't her birthday coming up?"
Seeing Elijah hesitating as if he was contemplating something, Vicky could not help but ask, "What's wrong? Do you have something to do tomorrow?"
Snapping out of his daze, Elijah replied, "No, I don’t have anything tomorrow. What time should I come to pick you up? It
"Ten in the morning," Vicky answered.
"Alright.’
With the time set, the two bid each other farewell.
The next day, Vicky came downstairs in a timely manner. Just as she pulled open the passenger side door, she heard Elijah shout abruptly, "Don't sit there!"
Vicky was startled and asked, "What's wrong?"
Realizing that his emotions were getting the better of him, Elijah quickly lowered his voice. "Uhm... Vicky, can you sit in the back?"
Vicky looked at Elijah in confusion. "Huh? Is the seat broken?
She had always sat in the passenger seat before and was confused as to why was it suddenly an issue.
Loving You In Secret Chapter 1002-"No. It's just..." Elijah stumbled over his words as if there was something difficult to say.
Vicky and Elijah had become good friends at this point, and she instantly sensed that something was bothering him. She asked softly, "What's really going on? Can you tell me?"
After much hesitation, Elijah finally spoke up, ’Vicky, well... I recently met a girl..."
Vicky paused for a moment and instantly understood. "So, you and her..."
"I... I have entered into a relationship with her recently," Elijah said, avoiding Vicky's gaze.
Upon hearing this, Vicky did not have a strong reaction. She nodded and asked, "So, does this mean that our agreement ends here?"
Elijah hurriedly said, "No. My whole family likes you, especially my grandmother. She even declared that you are the only granddaughter-inlaw she will ever accept. So, I was wondering... if you could continue to help me while my grandmother is still alive?" Realizing that his request might be unfair, Elijah felt ashamed. "I know this is a bit unfair to you, but..."
Vicky interrupted him with a smile, ’I have no qualms to continue helping you out. Is there any issue with your girlfriend?"
"I've already explained the situation to her, and she's understanding. It's just that..." Elijah shot her a guilty look and continued, "She hopes that we maintain some distance when we're alone together. So..."
"I understand," Vicky said calmly.
She opened the car door and took a seat in the back.
Vicky liked Elijah's family, and she enjoyed Elijah's company as well.
However, their relationship would remain a friendship. She did not have any romantic feelings for him.
The fact that Elijah was keeping his distance now that he had a girlfriend only convinced Vicky that he was a decent man.
By the time they finished picking out a gift at the mall, it was already lunchtime.
To avoid any misunderstandings with Elijah's girlfriend, Vicky did not have lunch with him and went straight home.
Time passed quickly, and it was soon time for Old Madam Harrisons’ birthday.
The Harrisons were a wealthy and influential family, so the guests invited to the birthday banquet were naturally from high society.
Old Madam Harrisons' birthday celebration was held at the family's mansion.
As the ’granddaughter-in-law" of the family, Vicky arrived early to help out.
There were servants working in the house, so there was no need for Vicky to do any menial tasks. But as "one of their own", Vicky had to greet the guests alongside Elijah's parents.
Although the Harrisons did not dabble much in the business world, being part of high society meant that Vicky encountered many familiar faces when receiving guests.
Those familiar faces were filled with shock when they saw her. It was not because Vicky had divorced Tyler, but rather that she had found a new partner so quickly, and a well-to-do one at that.
Vicky maintained a composed demeanor, responding to the curious gazes with an appropriate smile without revealing any flaws.
As the time for the banquet approached, the hall became increasingly crowded.
Elijah's family was already busy attending to their guests, and even Vicky started to feel a bit overwhelmed.
When she was married to Tyler, he rarely hosted parties. On the rare occasions that he did, he hired agents to organize the events, so she was not required to do much. Therefore, this whole ordeal was a brand-new experience for her.
Though she felt tired, she also felt like a part of the family.
Five minutes before the banquet was supposed to start, Elijah's mother said to Vicky, "Vicky, I'm going to bring my mother-in-law here. Can you take care of things for me?"
Vicky scanned around and noticed that both Elijah and his father had their hands full, so she nodded. "Sure, Aunty. You can leave this to me."
Elijah's mother hurried away.
By this point, most of the guests had already arrived. Although Vicky waited by the entrance, there were not many guests entering.
Loving You In Secret Chapter 1003-At that moment, the sound of microphones being adjusted echoed through the hall, signaling that it was time for Old Madam Harrisons’ birthday banquet to begin.
Vicky, who was about to return to the hall to join the celebration, paused as she heard the crisp sound of high heels approaching from the entrance and realized another guest had arrived.
She stopped and turned to greet them with a polite smile on her face." Welcome..."
However, her expression froze as she laid eyes upon the two individuals standing before her.
A tall and beautiful woman, accompanied by a handsome and refined man, entered the room gracefully. Upon seeing Vicky, a flicker of surprise crossed the woman's eyes before she smiled and said, "What a surprise to see you here, Miss Shaw."
Vicky suppressed the slight twitch at the corner of her mouth. She was unable to bring herself to smile. "Please come in," she said.
Aurora, on the other hand, remained motionless. She observed Vicky with a scrutinizing gaze. "Miss Shaw, your dress is truly magnificent... Did you design it yourself?"
Aurora was also wearing a dress that day, showcasing her exquisite figure in a subdued color that accentuated her elegance and beauty.
Vicky responded with a faint nod.
Although the styles and colors of their dresses were different, it was evident that Vicky's dress was more striking. As a fashion designer, she knew how to showcase her advantages.
A trace of envy flashed through Aurora's eyes.
Although Vicky was curious about why Tyler and Aurora had come, she knew better than to ask directly.
After all, with Tyler's status, she could not simply question their presence. On the contrary, it was her duty to welcome them warmly.
Vicky made an inviting gesture. "Please, come in."
Aurora cast a pointed glance at Vicky, chuckled softly, then linked her arm with Tyler's as they entered the banquet hall.
Returning to the banquet, Vicky found Elijah and asked in a low voice, 'Why is Tyler here?"
Elijah looked puzzled. "Tyler?"
Vicky glanced in a certain direction and asked, "Didn't you know about this? N
Shaking his head, Elijah replied, "My parents handled the invitations..." He paused for a moment, then continued, "They might have invited Tyler without knowing about your relationship with him."
For someone influential like Tyler, it was normal for him to be invited out of courtesy even if there was no personal connection.
While Vicky was conversing with Elijah, she suddenly felt a chilling and icy gaze fixed upon her.
Instinctively, she turned her head.
She first looked in the direction where Tyler was. However, Tyler did not meet her gaze. He was surrounded by a group of business elites, with
Aurora standing quietly by his side, occasionally displaying polite smiles at others.
'It wasn't him? Who can it be?’ She thought while scanning her surroundings, finding nothing out of the ordinary.
Elijah spotted her strange behavior and asked in confusion, "Vicky, what's wrong?"
She shook her head, feeling that she might have been overly sensitive. "It's nothing."
The dress Vicky wore outlined her curves perfectly. With her alluring features, many men in the hall had their attention drawn toward her.
However, for some reason, Elijah had not looked at her directly. After saying a few words to her, he excused himself, saying "Uhm... Vicky, there's something else I need to do, so I'll head over there now."
Loving You In Secret Chapter 1004-Vicky paid it no mind and simply nodded. "Go ahead."
Ever since Elijah found a new girlfriend, he had refrained from looking at Vicky unnecessarily and maintained some distance from her like a perfect gentleman.
After Elijah left, there were quiet discussions among the guests.
"I didn't expect Vicky to be so capable. She had just divorced Tyler, yet she has already found herself a rich young man from the Harrisons family so soon."
The news of Tyler's divorce was not made public, but with Tyler showing up with other women at various social events and Vicky showing up at the Harrisons family's birthday banquet, people began to catch on.
"But... she does have the capital for it. Look at her figure and face... Tsk tsk. No man can resist her. I wouldn't have been able to resist either..."
"She used to be a rich young lady herself, and her temperament is different from those women who throw themselves at others... Although she was with Tyler, her desirability hasn't decreased... Honestly, I, too, want to see how capable this woman is and find out how she managed to seduce Tyler.
"Shush! Keep your voice down. Tyler is here too..."
Amidst the murmurs of the crowd, Old Madam Harrisons’ birthday banquet came to an end.
Since Old Madam Harrisons was old and not in good health, she went upstairs to rest after about an hour. The remaining tasks were left to the other family members.
Elijah and his parents were busy sending the guests off and arranging accommodation, leaving Vicky alone in the hall to take care of other matters.
Just then, a woman's scream echoed in the hall. ’Ah!"
Vicky quickly walked over. "What happened?"
Aurora said coldly, "The maids in this family are so incompetent. She spilled wine all over me."
Vicky looked closely and indeed saw a stain on Aurora's dress.
Vicky's gaze flickered as she looked at the young maid who was bowing and apologizing incessantly.
At that moment, the maid was terrified and on the verge of tears.
Vicky sighed softly, "Miss Starling, I'm sorry. This maid is new and not familiar with the rules. Allow me to apologize to you on her behalf."
Aurora refused to accept her apology. "My dress is ruined, and you think a simple apology is enough to make up for it? Even if you were to sell this maid, it wouldn't cover the cost of this dress." Aurora then raised her chin and continued, "Besides, this dress is unique, and its worth can't be measured by money alone. Do you think I'll just let it go like that?"
Vicky pondered for a few seconds. "Miss Starling, didn't you just say that you found my dress beautiful? How about this? I'll personally tailor a dress for you as compensation, free of charge. What do you think?"
Aurora glanced at the dress Vicky was wearing. In terms of design and style, Vicky's dress was indeed a cut above hers.
Aurora was a noble young lady and would not make a scene at the banquet, risking her own image. After thinking for a moment, Aurora said," Fine." She glanced at her own dress and added, "Get me a change of clothes first."
"Okay."
When Aurora encountered the accident, Tyler was not present and Vicky did not know where he went, so she asked, "Should I inform Mr. Tyler for you?"
Aurora glanced at her. "Tyler is resting upstairs. There's no need to trouble yourself with such trivial matters."
Vicky knew that Aurora misunderstood her question as prying for information about Tyler, so she fell into silence.
There were rooms upstairs meant for guests. Vicky was about to bring Aurora to one of the rooms when Aurora suddenly stopped and commanded, "I'm going to rest first. Find me a change of clothes in my size and bring it to me."
Vicky agreed, "Sure. Which room should I have it delivered to?"
Aurora named a room number before striding off proudly.
Vicky arrived at the walk-in closet and picked out a suitable dress for Aurora, before heading to the room Aurora mentioned.
She knocked on the door and said, "Miss Starling, I'm here to deliver your clothes."
No one came to the door. There was no response at all.
Vicky tried knocking again, but the outcome was the same, causing her to scowl.
Loving You In Secret Chapter 1005-'Is Aurora not here?’ Vicky thought.
As Vicky wondered, she suddenly noticed that the room's door was not completely closed and was left with a narrow gap.
Out of curiosity, Vicky pushed the door open and walked in.
The room was pitch black without any lights.
'Could it be...?1 Vicky's heart skipped a beat as she wondered.
She did not want to see anything unpleasant. Standing in the living room, she called out, ’Miss Starling, are you there?"
Vicky decided that if Aurora did not respond, she would simply leave.
After waiting for three seconds and hearing no response from Aurora, Vicky placed her clothes on the sofa and prepared to leave, only to be held abruptly from behind.
Before she could react, the person pushed her onto the sofa and kissed her forcefully.
Vicky was startled and was about to call for help. ’Hel- Umph!"
The person instantly covered her mouth with one hand. In the dark room, nothing could be seen clearly.
The air was filled with the scent of alcohol and a faint, but familiar presence.
The man's touch was scorching hot, as if capable of melting everything.
All her struggles and cries for help were eventually swallowed by the darkness.
The next day, Vicky woke up with a splitting headache.
She felt like she had just had a terrifying nightmare.
Vicky attempted to sit up, as she usually did when getting out of bed to freshen up.
Suddenly, she realized that there was an arm wrapped around her waist.
Vicky's eyes widened, and memories flooded back like a tidal wave. Realization dawned on her that it was not a dream.
She turned her head sharply to look at the man's face.
Due to her sudden movement, the man was awoken and slowly opened his eyes. His pitch-black eyes showed no signs of drowsiness. That gaze seemed profound and was as desolate as an endless, icy abyss.
Vicky trembled violently and stuttered, "Tyler... How... How did you end up here?’
The man's eyebrow raised slightly, and his expression turned cold. "Vicky, I should be the one asking that question. How did you end up here?"
Vicky tried to get up, but the arm around her waist held her down firmly, preventing her from escaping. She could only nestle helplessly in his embrace.
What used to feel normal to her now felt extremely shameful and unbearable.
His expression remained cold. "So, you were the one who drugged me."
Her eyes widened. "What are you talking about?"
Vicky had not drugged him, and Aurora was the one who told her to have the change of clothes sent to this exact room.
"Tyler, you are mistaken. I didn't do this."
"Who did it, then?"
Vicky's mind went blank, and she lost all ability to organize her thoughts. The only thing she was certain of was Aurora's involvement in the matter.
Loving You In Secret Chapter 1006-"It was Aurora who told me to come here and deliver clothes to her, she..."
Tyler's voice was cold. "Where is Aurora?"
"I... I don't know."
Tyler shot her a knowing glance. "Vicky, your ability to lie is getting worse."
Vicky clenched her fists, trying to keep herself calm. "Tyler, I'm not lying. I have no reason to do such a thing."
"Oh?"
"Firstly, we are already divorced. You have a fiancee, and I..." Vicky took a deep breath, then continued, "I also have a fiance myself. We both have our own lives, so I have no reason and no need to do such a thing."
Tyler's thin lips curled into a mocking sneer. "No reason? Are you sure there is no reason?"
Under the man's intimidating presence and piercing gaze, Vicky's confidence wavered.
"What reason would it be?"
"Firstly, I forced you to divorce me. You didn't want to at that time, did you? Secondly, you've had issues with Aurora for a long time. Otherwise, why did you publicly label her as a homewrecker and embarrass her? Also, Aurora snatched the items that you wanted at the auction. She took away your man, and then also the items you wanted. So, you wanted to retaliate against her, tit for tat." The man's voice was hoarse as if he had just woken up, but his eyes were sharp.
Vicky opened her mouth to defend herself, but Tyler's words were logical and coherent, leaving her speechless.
It was true that she did not have a good impression of Aurora, so Vicky rubbed the bridge of her nose and said," Believe it or not, I didn't do this."
He shot her a half-smile. "Who would've done this, if not you? Aurora? Would she give her own fiance to another woman?"
Vicky was speechless.
No one would be foolish enough to give their own man to another woman.
Vicky had witnessed Aurora’s admiration and care for Tyler. However, if Aurora was not involved in this, Vicky could not think of anyone else who would do such a thing.
Before Vicky could come up with a reasonable explanation, the sound of knocking suddenly came from the door.
"Tyler, are you awake?"
Vicky's body stiffened as she recognized Aurora's voice.
Tyler furrowed his brows. He let go of Vicky and said coldly," Quick! Put on your clothes and hide."
Clearly, he did not want Aurora to find out about their situation either.
Vicky quickly got out of bed to find her clothes.
However, she froze when she found her dress torn apart on the floor.
"Tyler, my clothes..."
At that moment, Tyler was buttoning his shirt, and upon hearing her voice, he asked impatiently, "What are you waiting for? Do you want Aurora to find you?"
Knock, knock, knock.
The knocking sound became more urgent and impatient.
"Tyler, are you in there?"
A hint of embarrassment appeared on Vicky's face. She glanced at the disheveled sheets on the bed, gritted her teeth, and draped the sheets over her body.
Wrapping herself tightly, Vicky walked toward the bathroom.
Tyler's cold voice came from behind her, "Are you planning to hide in the bathroom? Do you want Aurora to find you?"
Vicky paused and turned to look at him. "Where else should I be hiding, then, Mister Hart?"
He pointed at the closet in the bedroom. "In the closet."
Vicky was speechless and felt extremely humiliated.
She used to accuse others of being a homewrecker, and now, she had become one herself.
Knock, knock, knock.
Loving You In Secret Chapter 1007-The door swung open, and Aurora's voice echoed from the direction of the living room, "Tyler, why did you take so long to answer the door? Could it be that you're hiding a woman in the room?" Aurora teased.
Upon hearing Aurora's words, Vicky's nerves tensed. Even her breath became slightly erratic.
Tyler replied in a cool and calm voice, "No. I went to the bathroom just now and didn't hear anything."
Aurora did not press the matter. Instead, she asked, "The servants just came by and said that breakfast is ready. Let's go downstairs for breakfast."
Tyler responded with a casual acknowledgment.
Footsteps could be heard fading away, indicating that the two of them were leaving. However, as if recalling something, the sound of those high heels came to a halt.
Aurora's voice was hesitant, as if she had something to say but was holding back, "Tyler... Did you see Miss Shaw last night?"
"Vicky?"
"Yes." Aurora hesitated for a moment before continuing," Last night, my clothes got dirty, so I asked Miss Shaw to help me deliver a new change of clothes to Room 302.1 waited for her until late at night, but she never showed up..."
Tyler's voice remained remarkably composed in response, "I haven't seen her."
Aurora seemed to let out a sigh of relief and laughed," Maybe she was busy with something else and forgot, then."
The conversation gradually faded away until the door to the room was closed.
Vicky, in a disheveled state, hid in the closet until she was certain they would not return before finally stepping out.
With her clothes torn by Tyler, Vicky could not leave the room. Feeling helpless, she had to call Elijah to ask for assistance in delivering a set of clothes. Elijah was good at avoiding suspicion and instructed a maid to deliver the clothes.
After dressing herself neatly, Vicky left the room and found Elijah waiting outside the door.
She glanced at the room number and the look in her eyes darkened slightly as the number plate by the door showed number 303.
Noticing that Vicky was staring at the number dazedly, Elijah asked, "Vicky? What's wrong?"
Vicky had never stayed the night in the Harrisons' house before and was not familiar with the interior, so she asked," Is this room... number 303?"
"This is Room 303," Elijah confirmed. Puzzled by her gaze, he asked, "What's wrong?"
"It's not Room 302?"
Elijah looked at Vicky in confusion. "No, it's Room 303."
"Has this room always been 303? It never changed?"
"Yes. The room number has always been the same. Vicky, what's the matter?"
Vicky stared at Room 303, her gaze focused and silent.
She distinctly remembered that the room number was 302 last night. How did it change to 303 overnight? She wondered if the dim lighting in the corridor and her exhaustion had caused her to misread it.
Vicky took a step forward and walked to the door of Room 302. The two rooms were adjacent, separated only by a wall, ruling out the possibility of her entering the wrong room. Vicky was unsure if she had made a mistake.
She then recalled how Tyler accused her of drugging him and wondered what had actually happened.
Loving You In Secret Chapter 1008-Elijah seemed confused. "Vicky, what's wrong?"
She snapped out of it. "It's fine."
Elijah wanted to say something, but soon noticed the wound on her lips and the marks on her neck.
Vicky noticed his gaze and instinctively covered her neck with her hand.
They were both adults, and Elijah immediately knew what those marks meant.
Since he and Vicky were not actually dating, he did not question what happened the night before and simply cleared his throat, "Ahem... Vicky, why don't I get you a scarf?"
Vicky did not want others to see the marks on her either, so she nodded. "Thank you."
"You're welcome."
The two of them walked and chatted, heading toward the direction of the cloakroom.
As they turned a corner, Missus Harrisons ran into them and exclaimed in surprise, "Breakfast is prepared. Why haven't you come downstairs yet?"
"We need to go back and get something. We'll be down in a moment."
"Hurry up, then. Don't keep our guests waiting downstairs for too long."
"Okay."
Missus Harrisons was about to leave when she caught sight of the wounds on Vicky's neck and lips, causing her to freeze in her tracks. "Vicky, what happened to you..." Missus Harrisons seemed to realize something and a look of joy appeared on her face. "Oh my, it seems the Harrison family is about to have a new child!"
Vicky and Elijah were both stunned.
Elijah was about to explain, but Missus Harrisons patted him on the shoulder. "I have something to attend to. You two remember to come downstairs as soon as you can."
With that said, Missus Harrisons walked away happily. Vicky watched her disappearing figure, feeling a heavy cloud of gloom shrouding her heart.
Vicky found a scarf and touched up her makeup before going downstairs with Elijah to have breakfast.
The Harrisons' household was livelier than usual today.
It was Old Madam Harrisons' birthday celebration the day before, and some of the guests who traveled from afar found it inconvenient to return home. Therefore, the Harrisons had prepared guest rooms for them to stay in overnight.
At that moment, the guests who stayed over from the previous night were sitting at the dining table, engaged in conversation.
Vicky and Elijah approached them, exchanging greetings with numerous guests.
Elijah apologized, "I'm sorry to have kept everyone waiting."
The guests laughed and said, "It's normal for young people to sleep in. We're not hungry."
Someone with keen eyes noticed Vicky was wearing lipstick and the swollen lips she struggled to hide. They teased, "It won't be long before the Harrisons family welcomes a new member. Old Madam Harrison, you'll get to hold your greatgrandchild soon."
Old Madam Harrison waved her hand toward Vicky and said, "Vicky, come and sit next to Grandma."
Vicky complied and walked over.
Old Madam Harrison was especially fond of Vicky and always made sure that Vicky sat beside her during family gatherings.
As soon as Vicky sat down next to Old Madam Harrison, the elderly woman held her hand and smiled. "Vicky, work hard with Elijah and bring our Harrisons family a great-grandchild. Boy or girl doesn't matter. Grandma doesn’t have a preference."
The wealthier and older the family was, the more they favored male descendants over females. Old Madam
Harrisons' words made Vicky feel both moved and guilty at the same time.
Loving You In Secret Chapter 1009-Just then, a crisp and melodious voice spoke up, "Miss Shaw and Mister Harrisons are such a charming couple that
I envy them. Oh my, your bracelet looks wonderful. It's even prettier than the heirloom in my family."
Vicky turned around and saw Aurora. Her gaze wavered and she instinctively averted her gaze.
Missus Harrisons said modestly, "It's just a bracelet. Your ring, however, is far more magnificent, Miss Starling. I heard that you'll be engaged to Mister Hart."
Vicky did not notice it until it was mentioned and finally spotted the identical rings on Aurora and Tyler's fingers.
Her breath hitched abruptly.
"Tyler and I have called off the engagement," Aurora said.
Old Madam Harrisons was taken aback. "You called it off?"
Aurora blushed and smiled coyly. "Engagement parties are too troublesome. We’ve decided to get married directly."
Vicky was momentarily stunned and instinctively raised her head, looking toward Aurora and Tyler.
As soon as she lifted her gaze, her gaze met that of a pair of deep, dark eyes. Tyler was staring at her, seemingly without blinking, and she could not tell how long he had been doing so.
Aurora was seated next to Tyler and engaged in conversation with Old Madam Harrisons, oblivious to the silent exchange between Vicky and Tyler. "I heard that Mister Harrisons and Miss Shaw are getting married too. Is that right?" She asked.
Old Madam Harrisons smiled and replied, "Yes. It's around the same time as your wedding, I believe."
Aurora shifted her gaze lightly and looked at Vicky. "Our wedding dates are close, and I believe we can share our experiences, Miss Shaw."
The Starling family was a top-tier aristocratic family, so when Old Madam Harrisons heard this, she naturally felt delighted and tried to get closer to Aurora. "Elijah and Vicky were planning to try on wedding dresses today. Since you're all young people, why don't you all go together?"
Aurora laughed. ’Trying on wedding dresses? What a coincidence. I'm also going to try on wedding dresses today. Mister Harrisons, Miss Shaw, are you still getting your wedding dresses from the same shop as last time?"
Anyone who had been involved in wedding preparations knew that there was more than one wedding dress for the day of the wedding.
There would be one for the registry, one for the ceremony, and one for the dinner, adding up to a total of three dresses. Typically, the dress for the ceremony was the most magnificent and solemn.
Old Madam Harrisons exclaimed in surprise, "Miss Starling, do you know that bridal shop?"
"Yes. Tyler and I ran into Mister Harrisons and Miss Shaw when we were looking at wedding dresses there. Oh, right...” As if remembering something, Aurora added, "It was that time when Mister Harrisons and Miss Shaw were caught on camera."
"In that case, Miss Starling, would you mind if Elijah and Vicky go together with you?" Old Madam Harrisons asked.
Aurora replied, "I don't mind it, of course! Both Miss Shaw and I are getting married. It's best to exchange our experiences when we can be together."
Vicky furrowed her brows slightly at the conversation between Old Madam Harrisons and Aurora. She lowered her voice and said to Elijah, "Were we going to try on wedding dresses today? Why do I not know about it?"
Elijah seemed embarrassed and apologetic. "Uhm... I originally had plans with my girlfriend today, so I made up an excuse to go try on wedding dresses with you. I did not get a chance to tell you before my mother blurted it out. It seems like we have no choice but to go try on wedding dresses together today."
Since Old Madam Harrisons and Aurora had already agreed on the plan, Elijah and Vicky had no choice but to go along with it.
After breakfast, Old Madam Harrisons urged Vicky and Elijah to go try on wedding dresses.
Before they left, Old Madam Harrisons pulled Vicky aside." Vicky, the Starling family holds a significant position in the financial sector. If our Harrisons family wants to expand outward, we absolutely can't offend the Starling family. If possible, you must establish a good relationship with them and avoid provoking them."
Loving You In Secret Chapter 1010-Old Madam Harrisons' words were nothing out of the ordinary for prestigious families.
After all, no one would willingly offend a more influential family.
In the past, when Vicky was married to Tyler, he had never treated her well and rarely took her to social events. Additionally, given his status and position, he no longer needed to please members of other families, so Vicky had not really made an effort to ingratiate herself with anyone.
However, being from the service industry herself, she understood the pain of having to please people. It could be said that prestigious families were not as glamorous as ordinary people believed.
Vicky nodded in response. "Alright."
Soon, Vicky got into Elijah's car and headed to the bridal shop.
As everyone was watching, Vicky could not sit in the back seat, so she opened the car door and sat in the front passenger seat. Aurora and Tyler, on the other hand, went in another car.
Watching the car ahead, Vicky asked, "Are your parents and Grandma still oblivious about my past relationship with Tyler? Should we tell them?"
Although she had once been Tyler's wife, she rarely accompanied him to social events, and all the online photos of them had been deleted at Tyler's instruction. Therefore, many people did not recognize her. Tyler's previous rumored partners were more famous than she was.
Elijah replied, "There's no need forthat. Our relationship isn't real. They'll only worry if they find out, which is unnecessary."
However, Vicky furrowed her brows slightly. A hint of melancholy appeared on her face.
Elijah reassured her, "Don't worry, I'll handle this matter."
Hearing Elijah's response, Vicky did not say anything further.
Lost in her own thoughts, she remained silent throughout the journey.
The car soon arrived at the entrance of the bridal shop.
It was only when Vicky opened the car door that she remembered that they were there to try on wedding dresses. She hastily asked Elijah, "Are we really going to try on wedding dresses today?"
"Well, since Tyler and the others are here, we can only go along with it and give it a try," Elijah replied.
Earlier, Elijah promised that they would not have an actual engagement ceremony, so Vicky did not pay much attention to the matter. However, the sudden need to try on wedding dresses left her with a strange feeling. When she was with Tyler, they had never tried on wedding dresses.
The four of them entered the bridal shop one after the other.
An enthusiastic staff member greeted them, "Welcome, Miss Starling. The wedding dress you ordered has already been customized. Please follow me. Mister Hart, please come as well."
Clearly, Aurora and Tyler were regulars here, as even the staff recognized them.
Aurora glanced at Tyler and whispered, "Tyler, shall I go try on the wedding dress first?"
Tyler nodded and Aurora went into the dressing room with a smile.
Two other attendants approached Vicky and Elijah.
"Sir, have you ordered a dress?"
Vicky scowled.
She and Elijah had only been pretending to be engaged, so there could not possibly be a dress.
Right as Vicky was about to say that they had not ordered any dress and merely wanted to try on anything available, Tyler, who was standing in the distance, turned to look at them.
His dark eyes were as dark as a starless night, and he seemed to be staring at them casually.
