Loving You In Secret Chapter 1571-Avery sighed with relief when she noticed Tyler did not spare Vicky a glance at all.

Avery's face fell with disappointment. In the four years they had been together, this kind of thing happened too many times for her liking. Tyler would always leave after receiving a call.

At first, she suspected he was cheating on her, so she tailed him for a few days and even hired a private investigator to follow him. However, her worries were unfounded since the only place he went to was his office, and he would come straight home after that.

Even though she was not happy, she knew it would be unreasonable for her to kick up a fuss then since there was never any evidence that showed Tyler met up with other women at all.

"Alright. Go ahead. I'll be fine going back by myself," she lied.

"Okay."

Tyler was about to walk off when Avery suddenly called him.

"Tyler!"

He turned back to look at her. "Yes?"

Avery walked up to him with a smile and stood on tiptoe to kiss him. However, Tyler turned his face away, so the kiss landed on his cheek instead.

Vicky slowly pushed over her bedroom door and saw a person she knew standing quietly in her bedroom.

She rubbed her eyes, thinking she was either dreaming or hallucinating.

The person glanced at her. "Where did you go? How come you're home later than me?"

Vicky did not bother to answer his question. She looked at him blankly and asked, "Tyler, why... Why are you here?"

"I just felt like coming," he said indifferently.

'What?' Vicky finally snapped out of her shock. She looked at him warily, asking, "How did you get in?"

"From the door, of course."

She glared at him before going to the living room to get her phone. She was about to dial 911 when a breaking news popped up on her screen. The familiar name splashed on the headline made her eyes twitch.

She taped on the notification and read, [Gilbert's long- girlfriend exposed him as a sc*mbag]. The news was reported an hour ago, and since he was a popular actor, it took him less than an hour to become a trending topic.

"Yes, Gilbert used to date that woman, but she broke up with him after he failed to get any success as a celebrity in the first few years of him starting out. She said she couldn't stand how poor he was and went on to find someone richer.

"But a few years later, Gilbert got a breakthrough role. Ever since then, he had been in one movie after another which ultimately earned him the 'Best Actor' award for one of the movies. Seeing this, the woman started threatening Gilbert to get back together with her.

"She said she'd expose him if he didn't, but Gilbert chose to ignore her. With the help of our agency, the PR team managed to keep a tight lid on the woman. We all thought that would be the end of the matter, so we never expected this would happen. This scandal couldn't have come at a worse timing," explained Aurora with a sigh.

I'm pretty sure they'll be able to clear up the allegations since they were all false. The agency wouldn't give up on him that easily since he won the 'Best Actor' award before." i

Vicky's lips moved slightly, but she did not say anything.

After hanging up the phone, she looked at Tyler, who was casually leaning on the doorway.

"You did this, didn't you?" It was more of a rhetorical question since she was sure he did it. She knew him better than anyone, and this had his fingerprints written all over it.

"I've already warned you to stay away from him," replied Tyler serenely, not denying that he had something to do with the matter.

Vicky tried to hold back her anger. "I've told you a thousand times that nothing is going on between me and him!"

"If nothing is going on between you and him, would he have stayed at your studio for the whole day? Did he just happen to bump into you at the restaurant and give you a ride back home? And how do you explain how he knew you'd be meeting a friend at night?" Tyler threw her one rapid-fire question after another.

"He was in my studio because we had an endorsement contract to go over! The restaurant meeting was purely a

coincidence. As to how he knew I'd be meeting a friend, it's because he was next to me when Aurora called for a meetup!"

Vicky did not really want to explain all that to him, but she was not the woman she was four years ago anymore. Never would she say things she did not mean in a fit of anger. This would only bring more trouble to her and Gilbert. In the end, she would have no choice but to beg for him to show mercy if she was not careful, so it was better if she explained everything.

After a few seconds of silence, Vicky said, "I only met up with him yesterday to talk about collaborating. After that, he came to sign the contract and take photos today. Vicky bit her bottom lip until it bled to keep herself from saying something she would regret.

"Avery knows about us. I went over there today because she told me she got the video from that night," said Vicky.

"I see," uttered Tyler apathetically.

Vicky looked at him and repeated, "Tyler, she already knows about us."

"So you can't see me anymore!" hissed Vicky.

"She didn't mention anything about it to me, so it means she doesn't care at all." Tyler was certainly the epitome of a sc* mbag. "There's a chance she approves of our relationship since she asked you out today. By the way..."

Tyler glanced at Vicky coldly. "You've been complaining I'm no good in bed, so Avery was probably hoping I'll get better with more practice."

They did not even give him a chance to give his side of the story. The speed of it all made it difficult for anyone to believe no one was pulling some strings behind the scenes.

Vicky slowly raised her head to look at Tyler.

He smiled the moment their eyes met. "Weren't you going to call the cops? Why stop now?"

Tyler looked around and replied indifferently, "Well, I wouldn't mind a tour around the house first."

Vicky stared into his eyes and finally gave in. "Wait here while I get changed."

"Besides..." His deep melodious voice sounded in her ear again. "You won't be wearing the bathrobe much longer, so why bother?"

Vicky closed her eyes for a second to compose herself before finally showing him around the apartment.

The apartment was around 3,000 square feet and had everything one would need to live comfortably. She had a study room, a walk-in wardrobe, a mini gym, a movie theater, and much more.

There really was not much to see, yet it took them more than 30 minutes to finish touring the whole apartment.

After the tour was finished, Vicky glanced at Tyler's face. Noting that he did not look upset, she said, "I'll terminate Gilbert's contract and never contact him anymore. Can you please stop the scandal?"

Tyler sat down on the sofa and glanced at her. "Come here."

Vicky hesitated for a few seconds before walking toward him. He reached out and pulled her to his lap. She immediately tensed but did not struggle.

"I just don't want an innocent person to get hurt because of me."

Vicky's eyelashes fluttered as she dug her nails into her palm.

After a minute or so, she closed her eyes and kissed his lips.

The kiss was like the opening of a floodgate to a wild night of non-stop s*x.

Tyler was already gone by the time Vicky woke up the next day. She pulled open her curtain. It was dark and gloomy outside, just like her heart.

She went back into her room and, through her reflection in the mirror, saw her pale face, swollen lips, and hickey- riddled neck. She quickly changed into a turtleneck shirt and put on some makeup before going back out.

Vicky poured a glass of water for Aurora. "Here. Drink some water."

Aurora looked at her speechlessly. After a few seconds, she

finally said, "Gilbert's okay now."

Vicky's expression softened a little. "That's good."

Aurora studied Vicky's face as she said, "The agency said Gilbert crossed someone he shouldn't have and things would've been dire for him if the other party didn't stop the scandal. Also, I heard the person he crossed was...Tyler."

Vicky nodded. "Yes. It was him." She looked at Aurora and said in a small voice, "It was all my fault. Can you please help me apologize to him?"

Aurora looked worriedly at her. "Vicky... Is he harassing you again?"

It was the same thing all over again. Gilbert could never have crossed Tyler unless it had something to do with Vicky.

Vicky's head hung low. "Yeah. It's...best that I don't see him anymore. I'll delete his contact later so this won't happen again."

Vicky rubbed her throbbing forehead. "I guess I have no choice but to use Avery."

"Avery?" Aurora instinctively frowned when she heard the name.

Aurora had long met with Avery since they belonged to the

same circle. Even in their circle of heiress friends, Avery was known for her breathtaking beauty. The fact that she was the only child in her family meant she was greatly spoiled by those around her.

In fact, her parents would have given her the sun, the moon, and the stars if she asked for it. Thus, it was no surprise Avery turned out to be a spoiled, self-centered brat who thought everyone was beneath her, which made Aurora detest her.

"Vicky, it's obvious Avery doesn't think about anyone but herself from the fact that she cheated on Tyler," said Aurora suddenly. "Besides, he doesn't look like he likes her that much either, so...why don't you get back together with him? Won't that solve your blackmailing problem?"

"I don't know," said Vicky in a small, confused-sounding voice. Tyler had her in the palm of his hand, so she did not know what she could do.

"Vicky, have you ever considered dating someone else?" asked Aurora.

"The whole thing with Gilbert happened because Tyler thought he was my boyfriend. I don't think it's a good idea for me to date anyone just yet."

"Well, what if you date someone who's more powerful than Tyler? He wouldn't dare to mess with you or your boyfriend then, would he?" Aurora replied with a smile. "Harvey seems to be doing well lately. I'm sure with the power Harvey has in Stoneford City, it'll be hard for Tyler to do anything to him. Why don't you give him a try?"

"Harvey? You can forget about him," said Vicky without hesitation. "I don't want to be the reason he gets thrown into jail again."

"Ugh! Then is there really no one who can take down that evil b*stard?"

The two of them were talking when Vicky's phone rang. Her expression immediately hardened when she saw the name on the phone screen.

Vicky's thumb froze right above the 'End Call' button. "You promise?"

"Do you really think I'll be able to blackmail you forever with that video? The longer I hold onto it, the less damage it'll do to you since you'll take a preemptive strike before I leak the video. If I've guessed correctly, your PR team must've prepared a script for you to defuse the situation, right?"

After a moment of silence, Vicky simply said, "Time and place."

"Same time and same place as last night."

"Okay."

"Vicky, what video was she talking about?" Aurora asked after Vicky ended the call.

Vicky told her everything about the blackmail.

"Have you talked about this with your PR team? You shouldn't believe Avery's words, you know?" said Aurora.

"I know," said Vicky while massaging her temples. "I met up with her yesterday to see what she had in mind, but I didn't expect her to bring Tyler along with her."

Then, later that night, Tyler came to her house. Coupled with what happened in the morning, Vicky forgot all about it.

'TH contact Jennifer to get her up to speed so that the company will be prepared," said Vicky. "Then I'll meet Avery to see what she wants."

Aurora nodded, relieved to see Vicky so level-headed.

That night, Vicky arrived at the agreed location on time. This time, she was not surprised to see Avery had brought along

Tyler glanced at Vicky. "Yeah.”

"Oh well, we shouldn't force her to do something she doesn't want to do." Avery looped her arm around Tyler's. "I guess we should head home now that dinner's finished."

After saying goodbye, Vicky got up from the table and walked out of the restaurant.

Vicky was mulling over the question when a horde of reporters suddenly rushed up to her.

The reporters asked one question after another that Vicky did not even know where to begin. The questions became more intrusive with no signs of them letting up.

The camera flashes were so bright that Vicky felt like she was going to go blind. The reporters kept shoving their microphones toward her as though they wanted her to swallow them.
