Chapter 726 They were behaving as if he had betrayed them. Odell was speechless. “Who told you that | was dating another woman?” Isabel turned to look at Liam as the little boy took out his phone.

After that, he returned to the kids’ room to check if they had obediently gone to sleep. Just when he had stopped by the door, he heard them whispering.

Isabel muttered to Liam, “Brother, did Baddie really fall in love with that woman?”

Liam replied, “He said he has no relationship with her so | don’t think he does.”

Isabel harrumphed , “Can you really believe his words? Who knows if he’s being honest.” Liam kept quiet as if he was rendered speechless by her words.

Not long after, Isabel sighed like an adult again. “I feel quite pitiful for him too. He must be lonely. If he wants to date someone else, I'll let him.”

Odell was silent. Bile rose in his throat, and he raised his hand to knock on the door.

Immediately, the two kids quieted down. Odell asked, “Are you two asleep?” Isabel's crisp and childish voice sounded. “Brother and | are sleep-”

Before she could finish speaking, her mouth was covered. It had to be Liam.

Odell pursed his lips and said, “I'll come again half an hour later. Both of you will be punished if you’re not asleep by them.” After ensuring that the kids did not speak any further, Odell turned around and left the room.

Not long after he reached his room, his phone suddenly rang It was Lily.

 

Chapter 727 Thinking about his scandal with her, Odell picked up the phone. Lily immediately asked, “Master Carter, did you see the online article?”

Cliff pushed the door open as he walked in and said respectfully , “Master Carter , Miss Springsteen is here. She said that she has to see you about an urgent matter.”

Odell frowned. “Let her in.”

“Yes.”

He continued reading the document.

When the door opened again and Lily came in, Odell put aside the document in his hand.

His indifferent gaze swept over her. “Please have a seat.”

“Thank you.” Lily smiled at him, but it was clear that something was on her mind. She sat on the couch that was nearby and said, “Master Carter, | didn’t mean to disturb you, but | have no other choice.”

Odell said, “Please get straight to the point.” “Okay.” Lily sucked in a deep breath. Her exquisite little face faced him and said, “Let's get engaged.” Odell’s brows furrowed. He said in a deep voice, “Miss Springsteen, are you joking with me?”

Lily did not back down from his intimidating gaze and replied, “Master Carter, I’m serious this time. | want you to get engaged with me.” “I do not plan to remarry.” “I know, but | have no other choice.” Lily sighed and said, “Do you remember our scandal a few days ago on the Internet?”

Odell leaned toward his chair and gloomily closed his eyes. Two hours later, Cliff pushed open the door and came in. Odell glanced at him. “Have you gotten any information?”

Cliff replied, “Yes. Master Springsteen has been in a terrible state these days. Since your scandal with Miss Springsteen, he scolded her and refused to accept any explanation. He declared that he would not meet Miss Springsteen if she didn’t give him a satisfactory answer. Yesterday afternoon , he shut himself in his room after waking up. Odell got up and walked out while saying, “Postpone the meeting tonight to tomorrow night.” Cliff hurriedly replied, “Okay.”

The two kids had just come home from school and were in the living room.

Seeing that they had not reacted , Odell continued, “We are getting engaged due to other reasons. I’m not marrying her.”

The kids still kept quiet.

Odell asked, “Do you understand?”

Liam replied, “Yes.”

They finished the meal in silence.

After a few bites, Isabel said she was full. Then, she jumped down from her chair and ran back to her room. Seeing that Isabel had left, Liam excused himself as well.

Odell immediately lost his appetite. After a brief silence, he stood up and went to their bedroom.

The door had been left ajar.

He stood in front of the door and saw Isabel's busy little figure through the gap in the door.

She opened the safe that she and Liam had hid under the bed. Then, she rummaged through the things inside before running to the other side of the room to take out a small box that she had hidden.

Something was clattering inside the box. It was like the sound of jewelry clashing. Then, she placed the box inside the safe. Liam stood at the side and watched her. He asked in confusion, “Sister, why are you organizing all this?”

Isabel planted her little butt on the floor as she continued stuffing things into the safe, and replied, “I’m preparing for our future.” Liam was even more confused. “What preparations?”

“Baddie is marrying a stepmother. He will become like our stepfather in time! He will only care about the stepmother and the child she has in the future. We have to prepare a way out early.” Liam was speechless. Outside the door, Odell was lost for words as well.

After a few seconds, Liam said, “Daddy said they would only get engaged. He will not marry her.”

Liam hesitated and said, “I don’t think that’s easy to

steal.”

Outside the door, Odell was rendered speechless.
