Ch. 19: Mr. Edwards’ Unraveled Life chapter 19

Chapter 19

Norah was polite and considerate to outsiders. Steven didn’t want her to be too polite, so she tried not to put too much pressure on him.

Her gentle and kind smile became a thorn in Kevin's eyes. He seemed to have never seen Norah smile so easily in front of him. It seemed that this man made her happier.

Kevin suddenly made a new discovery. He had paid too little attention to Norah and didn't know that there would be other men around her. He also didn't know that she smiled so happily in front of other men.

Norah had been with Kevin for so many years, and even after becoming his wife, she was polite and kept some distance from him. The comparison actually made him a little unhappy.

"Norah!" Kevin's voice broke the harmonious conversation between the two.

Norah immediately looked at Kevin, and the smile on her face was quickly concealed.

This detail was noticed by Kevin, and his displeasure grew stronger.

Did she think he couldn't make her smile? Did she think he disturbed their relationship and spoiled her fun?

"Didn't I ask you to wait for me? Why are you with another man?" Kevin said indifferently.

Steven looked at Kevin, then at Norah. He wasn't sure about their relationship, but he felt something strange, so he couldn't help asking, "Norah, he is…"

"He's my boss," Norah answered quickly.

Kevin looked at Norah, frowned deeply, and his jaw tightened.

"Is this the person you told me about, the one you've been following since graduation?" Steven asked.

Norah: "Yes."

Kevin's face was extremely cold, and his voice was low. "It seems that you talked a lot."

Norah introduced, "Mr. Edwards, this is Steven Lord, the president of Lord Group."

Kevin noted how well she knew Steven.

Steven held out his hand: "Mr. Edwards, I have heard of you. Thank you for taking care of Norah all these years."

Kevin narrowed his eyes. He didn't refuse to shake hands, but his voice was sharp. "Norah is mine. It is natural for me to take care of her. Mr. Lord, I don't think I have ever heard Norah talk about you."

He subconsciously walked to Norah, put his arm around her, and pulled her close.

Norah noticed his action, her body stiffening. She tried to move to the side, but Kevin held her firmly.

Kevin didn't allow it and held her firmly.

Norah was confused. Didn't he want others to know about their relationship? Wasn't he afraid that Steven would find out?

"I am Norah's elementary and junior high school classmate," Steven noticed Kevin's harsh tone but didn't care. "I met her at the exhibition when I returned to Craggaville recently, and we chatted for a bit."

"It turns out that we are not familiar with each other," Kevin said directly.

Norah raised her eyes to look at Kevin. She had never seen him talk like this before. Who was he trying to annoy?

This made Steven a little embarrassed. He continued to be a gentleman and said, "From my perspective, I think Norah and I are familiar with each other. I wonder if it's the same for her."

Hearing this, Kevin's face became even colder. He said in a cold tone, "Mr. Lord, do you know that Norah is married?"

Hearing this, Kevin's face tensed, his eyes stared at Norah solemnly, pursed his lips, and was very unhappy.

"So that's the case," Steven breathed a sigh of relief. "I thought I'd have heard about your marriage."

If Norah got married, he thought, he would have heard the news.

Norah quickly changed the subject, not giving Kevin a chance to cause more trouble. "Steven, I promised to go back to the company with Mr. Edwards. You don't have to send me off. Just go ahead with your plans."

Steven looked at the two of them, realizing he might be intruding. He agreed, "Okay, then I'll go first. See you next time."

"Okay, see you next time." Norah waved at him.
