Ch. 231..240
My Gorgeous Wife is an Ex-Convict Chapter 231-As he finished his sentence, his lips moved closer to hers, almost completely pressed against her lips.
Grace’s face could not help but turn red. “Don’t…” she said, flustered.
He paused as his eyes fixed on her. “Then Sis should tell me how you know him.” “It was because someone stole his bracelet once. The thief knocked into me, and it fell into the pocket of my shirt. He wanted to take it back, and that’s how I knew him,” Grace said hurriedly.
“Is that so?” he muttered. “How many times have you two met since?” She never counted the number of times she met Brian!
However, looking at Jason’s approaching face, Grace quickly counted them in her head and said, “Four… Four times. One was when he said he wanted to thank me for the bracelet by inviting me to a meal. Another occasion was at the county, and another chance encounter at the hospital my grandmother was hospitalized in. The most recent one is at the film set where I was an extra.” His eyes glistened. Knowing Brian, if Brian wanted to thank her for the bracelet, he would have used money instead of going the extra mile and taking her out to dinner.
In other words, did Brian have his heart set on her too?
Why Grace? Brian just started dating Evelyn not long ago. If it had been in the past, Brian would not be interested in another woman when he was already dating someone.
Now… an exception seemed to have been made!
“Does Sis like him?” he asked, still referring to the earlier question.
“I told you I have nothing to do with him. What’s more, he’s the crown prince of the entertainment industry. I’m just a sanitation worker.” They were two people who did not belong together. In her opinion, Jason’s question was meaningless!
“Don’t I have a crush on Sis too?” Jason chuckled and stuck his lips to the corners of her mouth, sucking in the sticky grains of rice on her lips into his mouth. “What if Brian is attracted to Sis too? Will you like him?” Grace stiffened, and her blood seemed to boil over at his gesture. It left her with a blank mind.
“Well, Sis?” He nibbled the grains of rice in his mouth. “Will you like him or not?” She put her hands on his chest, but could not push him away.
“No… I won’t…” she said anxiously, hoping that he would put an end to his flirtatious ways.
“You cannot lie to me,” he murmured. His voice was like a double bass, sinking into her ears. “Never like Brian, all right?” Her body stiffened suddenly. His voice was beautiful, but beneath it was a chilling warning.
If she were to ever like Brian in the future, she would be doomed.
It was Jason who had deceived her into thinking that he and she were in the same boat, but it turned out that she was being played like a fool by him.
Now, he was asking her not to lie. How ridiculous.
“I don’t like him now, but I don’t know if I’ll ever…” She opened her mouth for a final act of verbal defiance. Perhaps it was the only resistance she had left.
However, before she could finish, he was pressing hard against her lips, blocking all her words.
My Gorgeous Wife is an Ex-Convict Chapter 232-“Hmm…” Grace subconsciously raised her hand, trying to push him away. After he caught her right hand, without thinking much, she raised her left again.
As his fingers pressed against her left hand, she gave a sudden gasp and unconsciously opened her mouth to cry out, “It hurts!” It was a cry that allowed him to deepen the kiss.
She was almost suffocated by the kiss.
It was some time before the kiss ended, and he let go of both her hands.
She felt her legs go limp, and she almost slipped off the chair.
He held her waist in one hand and lifted her left hand gently in the other. “Did I hurt you, Sis?” Grace bit her lip and glared at Jason. “Why did you do that just now?” “Because I don’t like to hear Sis say things that I don’t want to hear.” He smiled softly, looking gentle as could be. “I don’t mind kissing you again if you’re going to say something.” “…” She was stunned but said nothing more for fear that he would mean what he said.
Jason looked down carefully at the unrelenting swelling on the back of Grace’s hand. “You’ll have to take proper care of this wound. I’m afraid it’s inconvenient for you to recuperate here. How about you go to my place to recuperate?” “What?” She was shocked. “Your place?” “Yes, we’ll go to Reed Residence. There are many rooms there. Sis can choose any room you want, and there will be servants waiting on you,” he said.
“No!” She refused quickly. “I’m used to living here. Besides, it’s not like I’m badly hurt. I’m still perfectly capable of taking care of myself. I don’t need people to wait on me.” His face grew cold. A layer of haze seemed to cloud over those beautiful, amorous eyes. “You don’t want to?” Her throat tightened. She really did not want to.
She would only get more and more involved with him by staying at his place.
She did not want to have anything to do with him!
After a moment’s hesitation, she swallowed the saliva flowing between her throat and said, “You said you won’t force me.” “I did say I won’t force you, but that was only if you were willing to stay by my side. Now it’s just a matter of having you over to recuperate for a few days so that I don’t have to worry about you.” He smiled. “Sis, do you want me to worry about you?” His smile, like a mountain, pressed hard on her heart.
The unstoppable light shining in his eyes let her know that her rejection was useless.
Yes, he was the emperor of Emerald City. Once he decided on something, the others could only obey him.
She was like an ant in front of him that could not even rebel.
If she did not agree, there were a hundred ways this man could make her agree.
Grace uttered out the four words in her mouth, “Alright, I’ll go
My Gorgeous Wife is an Ex-Convict Chapter 233-She simply packed her luggage, which was just some change of clothes. As for the other toiletries, he only said that they were all available at Reed Residence, so she did not need to bring any with her.
He did not want her to take her clothes there as well, but she said, “I’m used to wearing these clothes. They’re comfortable.” He could say nothing more and allowed her to take her clothes with her.
After she was done packing, Grace was about to carry her duffel bag, but Jason picked it up first and said, “I’ll take care of it.” They walked out of the rental house with Grace following behind Jason.
Sometimes, she felt that he was unpredictable. He could be gentle one moment, but in the next, he would act as if he could knock you into hell at any time.
Now that she was going back to Reed Residence with him, it seemed that their relationship would become even more ambiguous.
When would she finally have nothing to do with him? Would she have to wait until he got tired of her? As she thought this, she stared at him with her eyes fixed on the scarf around his neck.
She had knitted the scarf with old wool, but she did not expect him to wear the scarf and the gloves at a party attended by so many elites.
In the comments she read online, everyone was wondering if it were new items from some luxury brand, or if they were a renowned designer’s handmade accessories. No one bothered to think that maybe the scarf and gloves were made with old wool by an ordinary person.
Perhaps, as he had said before, it was up to him to decide whether the scarf suited him or not.
Outside the residential building, Grace saw the familiar black car parked in front.
Terrence got out of the car and quickly walked toward Jason, taking the duffel bag from him.
Jason turned around and looked at Grace who was still a few feet behind him.
“What’s wrong? Let’s go.” He held out his hand to her as he spoke.
She bit her lip a little, hesitated, and raised her foot. She did not reach for his hand.
He frowned slightly and withdrew his hand. As she bent down to get into the car, he bent down in the same way. His lips.
got close to her ear and said, “You may not want to hold my hand today, but sooner or later, you won’t want to let go of my hand.” Her body immediately went rigid, and her heart seemed to stop at that moment.
As Grace got into the car, she looked at Jason’s hand that was on her lap.
His fingers were long and distinct, looking very pretty. Did he say, sooner or later, she would not let go of his hand?
Was that possible?
When they arrived at Reed Residence, the gates opened and the car slowly drove into Reed Residence. The two sides of Reed Residence were lined with ancient trees that all had hundreds of years’ worth of history. They were lush and evergreen all year round. Through the window, one could see the adjoining buildings. She could not see the size of the entire Reed Residence at one glance.
It was not that she had never seen a wealthy person’s mansion before. Sean Stevens’s family was wealthy too, and she often visited the Stevens residence back then. However, compared to Reed Residence, it was like comparing a villa to a palace.
The car came to the main house and Grace followed Jason out of the car.
He naturally took her hand and walked into the house. Grace could feel the eyes on her. It was a mixture of amazement and shock.
“Young Master.” A man who appeared to be in his 50s or 60s and was dressed as a butler approached Jason and respectfully said, “This is…” “This is Grace. She’ll be staying here for a few days,” Jason said. He then introduced Grace, “This is Uncle Kwan. He is the butler here. If you need anything while you’re here, you can find Uncle Kwan.”
My Gorgeous Wife is an Ex-Convict Chapter 234-Uncle Kwan looked thoughtfully at Grace. There was a hint of surprise in his gaze.
Grace took the initiative to greet him. “Hello, Uncle Kwan.” “Miss Cummins, if you need anything, just let me know.” Uncle Kwan smiled.
“You can just call me Grace,” she said, feeling uncomfortable at the appellation.
“You are the Young Master’s guest, of course, I should call your Miss Cummins,” Uncle Kwan said, looking unapologetically polite.
Grace did not insist on it since she would not stay here for long anyway.
“Uncle Kwan, please show her the rooms and let her choose one,” Jason instructed.
“Just give me any room,” Grace said immediately.
“About this…” Uncle Kwan looked at Jason.
“Take the annex on the third floor, then,” Jason said lightly.
“Yes,” Uncle Kwan answered.
Grace was a little confused. What was an annex? However, Uncle Kwan soon led her to the third floor, and she did not ask any more questions.
On the third floor, Uncle Kwan opened the door of a room and said to Grace, “Miss Cummins, please come in. I’ll have someone send your toiletries and daily necessities over later. If you have any specific brand or other requirements for these, you can also tell me.” “Oh, nothing else,” Grace said.
Uncle Kwan left, and Grace looked around the huge room. It was femininely decorated and had a retro feel to it. The furniture was in a Chinese style, giving the room an elegant and quiet feeling.
Grace gave the furniture lying about a cursory glance. They were probably made from rosewood.
Of course, if they were all rosewood, the furniture in this room would be worth a fortune.
Was this how wealthy the Reed family was?
While Grace was surprised at the amount of rosewood in the room, a servant came in with some toiletries and new sheets.
She changed everything for her and brought up the duffel bag Grace had taken from her rented house.
“Thank you,” Grace said.
When the servant left, she took her stuff out of her duffel bag and hung her clothes in the closet.
However, to her surprise, there was a wedding dress hanging in the closet.
It was just that the style of the dress… The wedding dress must had been from a long time ago. It would be difficult to find one in such a style now.
However, the dress was very well made. It was neatly tucked inside a transparent dust bag.
Did the wedding dress belong to the last person who stayed in this room? Grace wondered. When she turned around, she saw another door on one side of the room.
When she opened the door, all she could see behind it was another room. It was completely different from the room she was in. The room looked cold and oppressive.
Everything was in the hues of blue and black. The furniture here was not made of rosewood. The design of the furniture was modern, concise, and lively.
It was just that the room was so sparsely furnished that it even looked a little empty.
Were the two rooms connected?
My Gorgeous Wife is an Ex-Convict Chapter 235-Grace thought to herself as she crept up to the bedside table, only to be shocked when her eyes fell on the picture frame on it. She stared at the picture with her almond-shaped eyes wide in disbelief.
It was a picture of her!
The problem was that she did not remember ever taking a picture like this, and if she looked at her eyes in the picture, they were not facing the camera.
Who took this picture? Why was it here? Whose room was this… Click.
Someone pushed open the door of the room and Grace looked up. It was Jason.
“Well, looks like Sis already knows that the two rooms interconnect with each other without me telling you.” Jason walked forward with a smile. His eyes were on the picture frame Grace was holding in her hand. “What do you think of this picture?” “How come there’s a picture of me here?” she asked.
“I was the one who took it, of course,” he said, taking the frame out of her hand and putting it back on the bedside table. “I miss you so much when I can’t see you.” His tone slightly raised at the end of the sentence. There was a hint of ambiguity.
As if thinking of something, she suddenly said, “Is this your room?” “It’s my room.” He nodded.
Grace bit her lip. “In that case… Get me another room.” “Why? Didn’t you say you can take any room? Why does Sis mind now when one of us has slept on the bed while the other one slept below the bed? There wasn’t even a door in between us,” Jason said.
Grace bit on her lower lip as her face turned slightly red. She could not help imagining the old days when they lived together in the rented house. Back then, she could just look down and she would see him lying below her bed.
Even the cold room felt warm.
At that time, she could approach him so freely, but now… “Sis…” He suddenly bent down. There seemed to be a look of gloom in his eyes. “Do not simply show an expression like that to a man, all right?” She was startled and instinctively started to move back, but his hand slipped around her waist to stop her.
“It’s… It’s late. I’m going to wash up and go to bed,” she said. Her body was stiff, afraid that he might kiss her as he did back in the rented house….
“Is it?” He fixed his gaze on her.
His eyes seemed to hold her entire mind. She quickly lowered her head to keep her eyes from his.
His eyes were so beautiful that they seemed to be able to suck her soul and will.
Suddenly, he let go of his hand and said with a smile, “It’s late, Sis. Go wash up.” Grace then heaved a great sigh of relief and hurried out of his room. She went back into the next room and headed toward the bathroom.
In the bathroom, Grace looked at herself in the mirror. Her cheeks were flushed, and her lips were so red and juicy as if they were dripping water. There was a hazy and delicate look in those almond-shaped eyes. No wonder Jason asked her not to look at a man like that.
Grace suddenly tossed her head and turned on the tap, cooling her now hot cheeks with cold water.
What was wrong with her?! Even though she could not resist Jason, she did not have to blush like that.
My Gorgeous Wife is an Ex-Convict Chapter 236-She should be afraid of him, right? He was a man who could easily grasp her pain and embarrassment. His words could easily knock her into hell.
However, why did she feel out of control when he was so close to her and when he was breathing in her ear?
This man was simply too much for her. Even if he called her ‘sis’, in the end, she was only a pawn in his hand. She was a chess piece for entertainment in his spare time!
Jason, on the other hand, looked down and picked up the picture frame on the bedside table. He looked at the person in the picture-those apricot eyes were looking ahead while the corners of her lips were curling upwards, smiling lightly.
Her beautiful face made people feel some sort of comfortable peace and elegance.
It was as if he had acquired something he never thought of before.
“Sis,” Jason muttered softly as he ran his fingers over the lips of the person in the frame. Then, as if unable to restrain himself, he kissed the lips in the picture.
Just now… If it had not been for the stiffness of her body, if it had not been for the flicker of fear in her face, he might indeed have kissed her.
He, however, chose to suppress his desires.
Why was that? Was it because it scared her?
He had already scared her at the rented house today, so he could not bear to scare her a second time.
He gently closed his eyes, and a smile faintly emerged at the corners of his lips.
Grace thought she might not be able to sleep at all on her first night in the house, but actually, she slept so well that she feared she would sleep forever.
Maybe it was because so many things had happened that day that she was so exhausted. Perhaps she did not have the energy to do anything else.
Grace looked at the time on her phone. It was five o’clock in the morning.
She needed to be at the Sanitation Service Center by six.
Grace hurriedly changed her clothes and went into the bathroom for a quick wash.
When she came out, she found Jason sitting on the dresser in her room, playing with her mobile phone.
“Is Sis going to work?” He looked at her.
“Yes,” Grace replied, taking her phone out of his hand and putting it in her bag. She then picked it up and wanted to leave.
“Let’s have breakfast together.” He clasped her wrist.
“I’ll be late for work.” She was in a hurry.
He smiled. “If I say Sis will be on time, then Sis will be on time!” She gasped.
They reached the dining room downstairs where Grace was surprised to find that breakfast was already served.
My Gorgeous Wife is an Ex-Convict Chapter 237-It was only a little past five o’ clock. No average family would make breakfast so early.
“From now on, breakfast will be ready according to your working hours. Sis must eat breakfast before going to work,” Jason said and led Grace to the table before gently pressing her shoulders to get her to sit down.
Grace obediently sat down and looked at the breakfast on the table. There was a wide variety of Chinese and Western dishes. At last, she drank a glass of milk, ate a bowl of porridge, as well as some pastries.
This breakfast was much sumptuous than the simple two-dollar steamed bun she usually bought in the morning.
It also made her realize that she was really and actually staying in the Reed Residence instead of her small rented house.
“I’ll ask my driver to drive Sis to the Sanitation Service Center later,” Jason said.
“It’s all right. I’ll take the bus,” Grace said quickly.
“It’s not anywhere near to your Sanitation Service L you take the bus, you have to make two transfers. Aren’t you afraid you’ll be late?” He looked at her casually, as if he was confident with everything.
Grace was dumbstruck.
After breakfast, the Reed family’s driver drove Grace to the Sanitation Service Center in a silver Maybach.
Sitting in the car, Grace was amused. She had the cheapest job, but to drive her to work in such an expensive car seemed like an irony.
Grace told the driver to park 500 meters away from the Sanitation Service Center so that she could get out of the car and walk the remaining way there. If the driver really sent her to the entrance and she was seen by her colleagues, it would probably set off another rumor.
Inside the dressing room, she changed into her work clothes. Although she had applied the back of her left hand with ointment, it was still painful. She was even struggling with simple movements.
Having changed into her work clothes and taken her tools, Grace, as usual, swept the road that was her and Claire Watts’s responsibility. However, Claire Watts noticed that Grace’s hand was a bit awkward. She could not help asking, “What happened to your hand?” “Nothing. It just got hit by something. I hurt the back of my hand a little, but only a little,” Grace said.
Claire Watts said, “Then sweep slowly today. Don’t use your hand too much. I can sweep more.” “Thank you, Claire Watts,” Grace said gratefully. After partnering up with Claire Watts, Claire Watts had helped her a lot. Before coming to work today, Grace had been worried that her hand injury would slow down their work today.
“Don’t mention it. These two roads are swept by you and me. If I get tired one day, you can sweep more for me,” Claire Watts said.
The two of them headed back to the Sanitation Service Center canteen around noon for lunch.
In the canteen, someone was talking about the influencer’s live stream on Jason last night.
Normally, any content that recorded Jason’s full face would have disappeared from the internet long ago, but this time, although the influencer had already deleted the live stream, someone managed to capture Jason’s scene in the video and spread it everywhere.
Strangely enough, these videos had not been deleted even until now. So many people finally saw what Emerald City’s Young Master Reed looked like.
Many people were marveling at Jason’s looks. Although there were some comments about his good looks already floating around on the internet, people only realized that his looks were not good but excellent when they saw proof of it.
Many female netizens were saying that they want to apply for a job in the Reed Group. Even if they were only working as a clerk, they would be happy even if they could see him once in a while.
“Jason’s scarf and gloves last night look really special. They look a bit old, though. If someone else wears them, they’ll look like they’ve been wearing them for years, but when he wears them, it’s somewhat special.”
My Gorgeous Wife is an Ex-Convict Chapter 238-“No one has been able to find out which brand the scarf and gloves are from. Some say they are handmade customized items from a big brand.” Some of Grace’s colleagues were talking about it, and she could only listen helplessly. She did not know how her colleagues would feel if they found out that she was the one who made them.
However, after Claire Watts saw Jason’s scarf and gloves, she could not help but mutter, “These gloves look like the ones Grace made before.” After all, Claire Watts had been watching Grace when she knitted the gloves. Grace even asked Claire Watts for help when she was stumped. Claire Watts certainly remembered.
However, as soon as she said this, she was laughed at by the crowd.
“Claire Watts, Grace may know how to knit a pair of gloves, but can they be worn on Jason’s hand?” “Jason only wears hand-knitted items by master designers. How can he wear something made by a sanitation service worker?” “Hey, Claire Watts is telling us a joke!” Hearing this, Claire Watts stopped talking and was slightly embarrassed. She only turned to Grace and muttered under her breath, “Grace, those gloves Jason wore last night really look like the ones you knitted. They say the gloves are custom-made by a big brand. As far as I can see, what these big brands made are similar to yours!” Grace was speechless. They were the same, alright?
When she got off work in the afternoon, Grace got another call from Jason’s driver, saying that Jason had asked him to come and pick her up from work.
Terrified, Grace told the driver to wait 500 meters away from the Sanitation Service Center. She then made her way there while avoiding the others and got into the car.
After getting into the car, Grace took a long breath. It would be a burden to her if she had to commute like this every day!
When she got back to the Reed Residence, Jason had not come back. Uncle Kwan said that Jason had a meeting at the company, so he would come back later and asked Grace to eat first.
At the huge dinner table, Grace ate alone with a table full of dishes.
Although the food was plentiful, there was an indescribable sense of loneliness about sitting alone at such a large table.
Suddenly, she thought of Jason. The media said that Old Master Reed was being hospitalized and recuperating there, which meant that Jason had been eating at a big table like this alone?
With this in mind, Grace somehow felt her heart go heavy.
Meanwhile, at the Cummins family’s house, Evelyn was absentmindedly eating. “Why are you eating at home these two days? Don’t you have to accompany Brian?” Melinda Riley asked as she helped her baby daughter with her food.
‘Accompany?’ Evelyn mocked herself. Brian had not called her in the past two days. She even went to Brian’s company specifically to look for him but was turned away. She was told that he was busy.
Brian’s sudden change of attitude frightened her, and she somewhat figured out it was because of Grace.
Brian saw her treating Grace that way, so… Was Brian now angry with her over Grace?
At the thought of this, Evelyn was even more confused. She secretly gritted her teeth. How on earth did Grace know Brian?! Why had she not heard from Brian or Grace about this before?
“You’ve got to hold on to Brian!” Melinda Riley reminded.
“That’s right. Don’t be like your sister and make such a big mistake in the end.
All your efforts will be in vain then.” Tony Cummins also reminded his daughter.
Tony Cummins was furious at the thought that his eldest daughter’s great potential marriage was ruined by a car accident she had previously caused.
He could have been the father-in-law of the President of Stevens Group.
However, it was now better. His younger daughter’s current boyfriend was the prince of the entertainment industry, Brian! The Hart family was much more formidable than the Stevens family. They were the big boys.
My Gorgeous Wife is an Ex-Convict Chapter 239-I know,” Evelyn said as she suppressed her insecurities. For now, the only way to find out was to ask Grace.
She must find out exactly what Grace’s relationship with Brian was!
When Grace finished washing up that night and left the bathroom, she saw a light shining through a gap in the door that joined the two rooms.
Was Jason… back?
Grace thought as she raised her hand to knock on the door. She wanted to talk to him about the driver issue.
However, when she knocked on the door, it was not fully closed. Her knock opened the door, and she saw a large projection. It was obvious that there was a video conference taking place on the screen. There were many foreigners on it.
Now, the people in the video conference were all looking at her.
“There’s a woman. Oh my God, why is there a woman here so late at night?” someone said in surprise.
“Jason, is this your lover?” “How about an introduction?” “This can’t be the woman who called in the last meeting.” All kinds of sounds filled the room for a moment until the room finally became quiet. Jason had cut off the sound.
However, she could still see the people in the video conference looking at her curiously.
“Yes?” Jason asked as he turned to look at Grace.
“Well… Sorry for interrupting your meeting.” She stood awkwardly, unaware that he was in the middle of a video conference.
“It’s all right,” he said. “If you want anything from me, just say so.” “You don’t have to ask the driver to fetch me to and from work tomorrow. I can take the bus myself,” she said.
“Why? You take the bus with four wheels. The driver also sends you by car with four wheels. What’s the difference?” He raised his eyebrows slightly.
Of course, it was different!
“It’s… too eye-catching,” she hesitated and said.
He thought for a while before saying, “Which car did the driver pick you up in today?” “The silver Maybach,” she said.
“All right, I’ll have a word with the driver later and get you an inconspicuous car,” he said.
Grace immediately felt speechless. That was not the point at all.
“What I was trying to…” “Does Sis want me to send you personally?” Jason jumped to his feet and approached Grace. He bent over with a faint smile. His face was suddenly close to hers. “If that’s what you want, so be it.” Grace’s face suddenly turned red. Out of the corner of her eye, she caught sight of the people in the video conference. They were all looking curiously at them while gossiping.
My Gorgeous Wife is an Ex-Convict Chapter 240-Grace just felt like she was a panda being watched by the crowd.
“Hmm? Does Sis really want me to send you?” His voice once again rang in her ears.
She blushed even more before quickly saying, “No.” With that, she hurried back into her room and shut the adjoining door.
Jason smiled faintly. When he turned around, his face reverted to its usual expression. He went to the chair and sat down, reconnecting the audio system.
“Let’s proceed with the meeting,” Jason said lightly, seemingly ignoring the fact that everyone was trying to pry.
“Jason, is this the one who called you during our last meeting?” someone asked as he could not help but pry.
Jason raised his eyebrows slightly. “Why, do you want to know?” Suddenly, the man shivered and said with a dry smile, “Then… We’ll just proceed with the meeting.” Although it was a meeting, there was a voice in everyone’s heart that speculated that their president seemed to be living together… with a woman!
Evelyn was surprised when she went to look for Grace in the rented house but found nothing. There was no one in the rented house at all. There was no light, and no one answered when she knocked.
She thought Grace was out and had not come back, so she ended up waiting until after 1 a.m. She was getting sick from the cold, but Grace still had not come back.
She left in a rage and found her the next morning at the Sanitation Service Center.
“I need to see you!” Wearing sunglasses, a face mask, and a baseball cap, Evelyn looked like she was terrified that a celebrity like her would be recognized.
However, she forgot that she and Brian had never been seen together in public and that even though she was now a second female lead in a big-budget film, everyone was on the set treated her well only because they had to give her a little face.
Out in the public, few people actually recognized her. To the general public, she was only a C-list actress.
“What is there to talk about?” Grace gave her a cold look. She then took her cleaning tools and put them on the Sanitation Service Center’s bicycle before saying to Evelyn, “Excuse me, I still have work to do.” With a disgusted glance at the dirty bicycle, Evelyn subconsciously took a step back.
Grace directly got on her bicycle and rode out the Sanitation Service Center’s entrance, leaving Evelyn to stomp her foot in anger. She could only dash out and get a car to follow Grace to the road where she swept.
“Sis, why are you doing this? I came to see you today just to ask you something. We are sisters after all. It’s not very nice of you to do that.” Evelyn now softened her attitude.
However, Grace still ignored Evelyn and started to sweep the rubbish on the road.
Evelyn saw this and frowned a little before following Grace. She said, “Sis, I came here today to apologize for hurting your hand. Sorry about that day!” “Right, it seems that you didn’t pay me the medical expenses the other day.
Please settle the bill,” Grace said.
