Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 1351
After the receptionist told Yan what she wanted to say, her expression remained secretive. “Well, I’ve told you everything I know. Don’t tell anybody I was the one to tell you, alright? Then, I’m leaving.”
After she left, Yan remained standing where she was in a blank daze. It was a long time before she could understand what the receptionist had said to her. Xu Yanwan is the fiancé of Han Qing? If these words are the truth… then what am I? Am I the third party that forcibly intervened in their relationship?
“Miss, are you getting in the car?”
At the driver’s urging, she came back to her senses. “I’m sorry, Sir. Can you wait for me here, please? There’s something I need to clarify.”
“Wait for you? If I do that, I won’t be able to get much business…”
“I’m begging you, Sir. I’ll pay you extra to make up for the fare later.”
Hearing what she said, the driver nodded in satisfaction. “Okay then. You can go, but don’t make me wait too long, okay?”
Afterward, she ran back inside. However, halfway through, she stopped in her tracks. That’s not right; why am I asking for an explanation from Xu Yanwan? If she really is Han Qing’s fiancée, then I should be asking Han Qing himself. After all, he is the person closest to me. I want to hear it from him directly. Thus, she decided to turn back instead. The driver looked at her strangely when he saw her returning so soon after leaving. “You’re not going back in?”
“No, I suddenly remembered I have other matters. Let’s go.”
“Where to?”
Initially, she wanted to give him the Han residence address. However, although the words were on the tip of her tongue, she switched to her home address instead. “Let’s go.”
Yan did not know where Han Qing had gone to, but if he did not want to see her for the time being, then she should give him some time to calm down. Besides, her mind was currently in a mess. The words the receptionist had said to her just now were much too big of a shock for her. As a result, she felt that it was wiser to go home and properly sort her thoughts out about what was going on.
After returning home, Yan went upstairs and lay on her bed without even bothering to eat dinner. As she lay there, tears slowly leaked out of her eyes without her noticing. Then, she began to sob uncontrollably. You idiot… If you don’t celebrate birthdays, you could have just told me! Then, I wouldn’t have gone and done it. Why didn’t you tell me? Sob…
She hugged her pillow and curled into a ball; her tears were falling over each other in their rush to gush out of her eyes—like beads of pearls scattering out of a broken necklace. She made so many preparations. Moreover, she worked so hard in her preparations, over such a long time, just to celebrate his birthday and… tell him about her pregnancy. In the end, he left just like that. And, she couldn’t even find him.
You idiot! Freaking jerk! Cursing him in her heart, she rolled over and continued to cry. If you have something to say, why can’t you tell me?
Knock-knock. “Yan, what’s wrong with you today? Why didn’t you say something when you came home? Besides, aren’t you coming out to eat something?”
It was Luo Huimei’s voice. Yan was startled and quickly dragged the blanket over her head. Right now, she couldn’t speak. She had been crying; if she replied, Luo Huimei would hear the change in her voice. If her mother figured out that she had been crying, she would definitely question her. Thus, she pulled the blanket over her head and pretended to be sleeping.
“Yan, come out and have some dinner.” Luo Huimei stood outside her room and kept calling out her name, but there was no response. Then, Mr. Zhou walked over and casually asked, “Is she asleep?”
When Luo Huimei heard this, she arched her brows. “So early?”
“The dark circles under her eyes have been severe recently. Maybe she’s tired. Let her sleep; she can eat when she wakes up.”
Luo Huimei thought Mr. Zhou’s suggestion was a good idea, so she didn’t knock on Yan’s door again.
On the other hand, Yan’s eyes were open as she continued to cry while hiding under the blanket. After a while, she cried herself to sleep out of exhaustion.
An unknown amount of time had passed when it seemed like someone was knocking on her door again. The noise woke her up. Then, she heard Luo Huimei banging on the door outside as she asked, “Yan, are you awake? Han Qing is here looking for you. He said he couldn’t get through to your phone.”
In the beginning, the expression on her face remained as lifeless as it was before. However, she was surprised when she heard Han Qing’s name being mentioned. Then, she kicked the blanket away and sat up. Han Qing is here? What time is it now?
Glancing at the time, she realized that it was midnight. Moreover, it was raining cats and dogs outside; it was accompanied by lightning and thunder. This kind of weather, combined with the events of today—things could not get any worse.
She remained sitting in a daze when Luo Huimei opened the door and came in. “I say; just what is wrong with you? Why aren’t you responding when I talk to you?”
As soon as the words came out, Luo Huimei saw Yan’s eyes that had swelled to the size of peach pits. Then, the words died on her lips. “What’s wrong? Why are your eyes so swollen? Did Han Qing bully you?”
Yan blankly stared at her mother, then she shook her head. “It’s nothing. Where is he?”
“He’s outside. I told him to come in, but he refused. I was wondering what was going on too. Are you two fighting?”
Fighting? If it was just a normal fight, then it wasn’t a big deal. “We are not fighting, but there are some things I need to ask him.” As she said this, she kicked away the blanket and got off her bed. Luo Huimei couldn’t help giving her some support when she saw her daughter in that sorry state. “What is there to ask about? If you don’t want to meet him, I can—”
“Mom, I’m fine.” She held her mother’s arm and gave her a pained smile. “There’s some stuff I need to know. I have to ask him about it.”
“Okay then. Since you’ve already made up your mind, I will support you.”
Afterward, Yan changed her clothes and walked out.
Han Qing did not enter the house; he simply waited for her in the corridor. When she went out to meet him, the Zhou couple whispered among themselves. “What happened to Yan? Why isn’t Qing coming inside even though it’s the middle of the night?”
Luo Huimei pinched Mr. Zhou, then replied, “I think they fought. It shouldn’t be too big of a deal. We should just let them talk it out.”
“Tsk-tsk,” Mr. Zhou tutted as he shook his head helplessly. “You ladies just like to be difficult. Most of the time, it’s not a big deal, but you ladies like to kick a fuss over it. It drives me nuts.”
When Luo Huimei heard those words, she widened her eyes in discontent. “Who are you saying is difficult? You men might not think that it is a big deal, but that’s just because you are crude! Why do you have to blame us for being difficult? Besides, that’s your daughter! If you continue with your nonsense, believe it or not, I will throw you down the stairs.”
Mr. Zhou said nothing in reply. Forget it; she’s not to be trifled with. It’s best if I don’t talk too much. Then, he rubbed his stomach and went back to sit in his chair, quietly waiting to see how things would unfold.
After Yan exited the house, she noticed that Han Qing was standing in the corridor and his clothes were soaked through. Subconsciously, she felt her heart ache for him and wanted to invite him inside. Be that as it may, she recalled the things she wanted to talk about, then she hardened herself.
Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 1352
Han Qing’s complexion was poor. After being soaked by the rain, he looked even more pitiful. Even so, his slender body remained upright and tall, and his face remained calm and cold. When he saw Yan coming out, his thin lips twitched. He took a step toward her. However, Yan reflexively took a step back when she saw him coming nearer. Noticing her reaction, he stopped in his tracks.
“Yan,” he said, calling her name in a hoarse voice. The gaze in his eyes revealed a trace of suffering.
Why does he look pained? She couldn’t understand the reason for it, but at the moment, she didn’t want to understand it either. All she wanted to know was the truth. “Why didn’t you tell me?”
As the incident where he left partway through the birthday celebration had occurred during the day, Han Qing thought that she was talking about that incident. It did not occur to him that somebody else had told her about the matter of Xu Yanwan being his fiancée. Therefore, he did not think too much about it. After listening to her question, he whispered after a long while, “It’s not easy to talk about it.” After all, that was a wound he had hidden deep in the depths of his heart. No matter who it was, no one would be willing to touch nor open up an old wound again. And, he was no different—he had not been willing to reopen the wounds of his past. Unfortunately, things had occurred too suddenly today, and the current situation was a result of that.
After he left the restaurant, he regretted it. Thus, he immediately returned to look for her, but she had left the premises by then. Afterward, he heard from the staff members there that Yan had been pouring her heart out to prepare the celebration for him. Only then did he realize that the young lady had simply wanted to celebrate his birthday with him. Unfortunately, she was unaware of his past. Besides, he never had the intention of bringing up the wounds deep in his heart again. However, it seemed like there was no way to avoid it this time around.
That was why he told her that it wasn’t something easy for him to bring up before this. Firstly, he did not want to reopen his wounds; secondly, he did not want to mention his past if there was no reason to. Even so, he came here to clear the air between them. Unfortunately, in Yan’s eyes, the question she had asked him was regarding the matter with Xu Yanwan. To that question, he had answered that it was hard to talk about it. Is it hard for him to talk about it because he has a fiancée? What a great excuse that is…
She sniffled, seeming to hear the sound of her heart about to shatter to pieces. “Hard to talk about? So… it’s true?” Is Xu Yanwan really his fiancée? Then what am I? Am I the mistress after all? The receptionist had known about this. Doesn’t that mean that… the entire company knows about this? Was I the only one kept in the dark about it?
Then, she thought about how she constantly went to the company as well as how she and Han Qing had left the company together with Xu Yanwan in tow. To the others, she was the third party in that relationship. She felt ludicrous just thinking about it.
On the other hand, Han Qing did not say a word in defense under her questioning. He stood there with an inexplicable expression and remained silent. Under many circumstances, remaining silent was a terrifying thing because it could be taken as tacit agreement. In this case, his silence was taken as his tacit agreement to the question she had asked.
So, the engagement between Xu Yanwan and Han Qing is true. In that case, I, Zhou Xiaoyan, am truly the third party in their relationship. Yan started to step backward. The look in her eyes as she gazed at him was devoid of all light. “I understand. Please leave.”
As the distance between them was slight, Han Qing saw the light in the young lady’s eyes dim and vanish. A wave of panic rose in his heart for no reason, then he subconsciously stepped forward and grabbed her wrist. “Things happened all of a sudden; I had no chance to explain it to you. You are angry right now, but please give me some time.”
She shook her head. “No, I don’t need time. Leave.”
When he heard those words, he frowned deeply. “Why?” Is she unwilling to listen to my explanation?
“There is no reason why.” She started to break free from his grip, inch by inch. At the same time, she backed away while pale-faced. “Let go of me.”
Studying her swollen eyes, the remorse in his heart grew stronger. So, he released her hand. “If you don’t want to listen today, I will come again tomorrow to meet you.”
Hearing that he wanted to come and meet her again, she didn’t know why but her anger surged up wildly. Then, she forcefully threw off his hand around her wrist. “Don’t you dare come looking for me! From now onward, we have nothing to do with each other anymore! We’re breaking up!” What does he take me for? Come again tomorrow to meet me? Am I so easy to deceive? For the first time in her life, she was absolutely furious at him. Without any care for her image, her eyes opened wide, but they were as red as a rabbit’s eyes.
He understood that right now, she had hit her breaking point. If he had known the young lady would have such a large reaction to the matter, he should have controlled himself better at the time. “Yan, don’t do this, alright?” Although he was partly to blame, he did not believe that this matter was serious enough to warrant them breaking up.
“Don’t call me Yan.” She took a few steps back, her expression darkened. Standing there with her eyes lowered, her entire body was wrapped in a layer of hostility. “When it comes out of your mouth, it feels disgusting.” From the moment he had admitted to the fact that he had a fiancée, she believed that she was the third party in their relationship. At the same time, she lost all respect for him. Perhaps that was why she had spoken uncaringly and recklessly out of anger.
He had not expected her to speak so harshly. Thus, his eyebrows were tightly knitted together in a scowl as he stood there motionless. “Just because of this, you want to break up with me? Are you not even going to listen to my explanation?”
Just?! She keenly caught onto the word. Then, she looked at him in amusement. He seems to think this isn’t important. Well, he is a man after all. I’m the only one who has to deal with all the gossiping behind my back. Since she had already decided to break up with him, the words she spat out were merciless. “That’s right; I want to break up with you because of this. You don’t think it’s a big deal, do you? But, I do! It’s such a serious matter to me that I don’t even want to see you ever again. Got it? I’ve said what I wanted to say. President Han, please take your leave!”
Luo Huimei and Mr. Zhou, hiding behind the door and eavesdropping on the entire conversation, exchanged glances with each other, not daring to make a sound. They had not expected their daughter to unleash such a terrible temper on Han Qing. Moreover, the words that came out of her mouth were sharp, ruthless, and direct.
Han Qing stood where he was, staring at her. He saw the sparks in her eyes, but he could not understand it. Although he was to blame for this incident, it wasn’t serious enough that they had to break up over it, right?
“Get lost!” Yan chased him away. “I’ve already said I don’t want to see you anymore. So, why are you still stubbornly standing there?”
With her constantly trying to chase him away, coupled with his already bad mood today, the words she kept repeating at him made his hackles rise. “Are you certain?”
“I’m certain; without a doubt; absolutely sure. Leave. Now!”
Han Qing was angered by her provocations. He wanted to turn around and leave. However, after thinking about it, he stepped forward again. “Will you stop making a fuss?”
Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 1353
Fuss? Yan couldn’t believe that, at this point, he still believed that she was making a fuss. Does he think this matter is insignificant?
“Since you think I’m making a fuss, then don’t come looking for me anymore. Let’s end this here today.” Then, she turned around and went into her house, slamming the door behind her with a bang and shutting him outside.
On the other hand, the two elders, who were eavesdropping behind the door, met her eyes after the door slammed shut. Thus, the three of them stared at each other in consternation. After a long while, Mr. Zhou rubbed his nose awkwardly and smiled in embarrassment. “Yan, it’s normal for couples to fight. As a girl, you can be angry, but you shouldn’t be so harsh. You must pay more attention to the words you say.”
Yan stood there motionless with an ashen look on her face. Mr. Zhou then continued, “Your mother and I heard the conversation between you and Qing. Although I feel the way you spoke was impressive, but—”
“Dad, Mom,” she lightly said as she looked at them seriously, “I want to break up with him.”
Luo Huimei and Mr. Zhou said nothing in response.
“I can’t be with him anymore.”
Luo Huimei had not expected her daughter to make such statements when facing them. Thus, she hesitatingly asked, “What happened?”
However, Yan did not feel like talking about it, so she shook her head. “The long and short of it is that I won’t be with him anymore.”
“Yan, I’ve told you this before, that you need to talk things out with each other. For you to decide on breaking up because of an argument, isn’t it a little over the top?”
Is it too much? Ever since she found out that she was the third party in a relationship, she didn’t consider this solution to be over the top at all. In fact, breaking up was the best solution. Therefore, she did not bother to explain herself. Turning around, she walked into her room. “I’m going to sleep.”
Luo Huimei and Mr. Zhou exchanged glances again. “What do you think?”
Mr. Zhou replied, “How would I know? From her behavior, it looked like the situation was rather serious. Why don’t we ask Qing… about what is going on?”
Luo Huimei thought that his suggestion was a good idea. After all, she had seen just how much her daughter loved Han Qing since the beginning. There must be a reason for her to break up with him so suddenly and decisively. Thus, she prepared to open the door quietly.
At that moment, Yan walked out of her room and said to them, “Dad, Mom, go to sleep. Nobody is allowed to ask about this matter. Besides, I’ve already made my decision.” With that, the hand Luo Huimei was reaching out to open the door stopped moving. Then, Mr. Zhou poked at her back. “Since Yan has already said so, why don’t we just forget it? Let’s wait a few days for her anger to simmer down. Then, we can talk about it again.”
No matter what, Luo Huimei would always stand on her side—Yan was her daughter after all. Thus, she nodded in agreement.
Han Qing waited outside for a long time, trying to call Yan. However, her phone was constantly turned off—as if trying to oppose him. Plus, Yan wasn’t the only one living in this house. He could not bring himself to disturb the two elders in the house again this late at night.
If he knew this was going to happen, he would have grabbed her and carried her down to his car when she came out before. Then, with her locked in the car, she could say what she wanted to say or get as mad as she wanted to inside the car. Now what…
Han Qing reached his hand up and pinched his temples, feeling a wave of fatigue welling up in his eyes.
…
Yan returned to her room, then her tears spilled out uncontrollably. Thus, she entered the bathroom and washed her face with cold water, waking herself up. Then, she looked at her swollen-eyed image in the mirror. Taking a deep breath, she forced a smile at the mirror. It’s alright; it’s not too late to find out now. At least, she had not told him about the news of her pregnancy yet. At least, she still retained a shred of her pride. I’m pregnant…
As the thought of her pregnancy filled her mind, she couldn’t keep the smile on her face. Then, she slowly lowered her hands until she touched her abdomen. Why? Why did I get pregnant at this time? When she learned about her pregnancy before, she had been ecstatic. Now what? I’ve broken up with Han Qing. What will happen to our child?
In the past, she believed that she would love no other man except Han Qing for the rest of her life. Even at this point, she firmly believed that. Be that as it may, she could no longer be with him. The child… She closed her eyes slowly. Should I raise it myself? Or, should I get an abortion?
The next day, Luo Huimei’s tone was careful when she went to wake Yan up. Unexpectedly, Yan looked like she was in a good condition. She quietly ate her porridge followed by some deep-fried dough sticks; she seemed to have a good appetite.
Seeing this, Luo Huimei was a little confused. She thought her daughter would have no appetite, but she was eating just fine.
Yan quietly finished her breakfast. Then, she looked up. Seeing her parents staring at her blankly, she asked, “Dad, Mom, why aren’t you eating? Can you fill your stomachs just by watching me eat?”
Her parents were surprised that she could still make a joke. After exchanging glances, Luo Huimei tentatively asked, “Yan, are you okay?”
In response, Yan smiled. “Why wouldn’t I be fine? Mom, don’t worry; hurry and finish your breakfast.”
Even Mr. Zhou felt that his daughter was acting strangely. He asked, “Are you really okay? The fight was only just last night; did the two of you reconcile over the phone last night?”
Reconcile? How is that possible? Yan’s face was still smiling. However, her smile faded considerably when she heard her father’s words. Even so, it recovered quickly. “No, we won’t be getting back together. Dad, Mom, I was serious about what I said last night. I won’t change my mind.”
When her parents heard those words, thousands of questions sprouted in their hearts.
“I know you must want to know what happened, but I don’t have the mood to talk about it right now. When I finish sorting out my feelings, I will tell you about it.”
Luo Huimei reached out her hand and held her daughter’s wrist. “Silly girl. If you want to talk about it, then talk. If you don’t want to talk about it, then don’t. We are your parents. No matter what, we won’t force you. But, will you regret making this decision?”
Regret? Her heart was broken after leaving Han Qing; after all, she truly loved him. However, even if she loved him, the love she felt for him would never be returned. No matter what, she could never accept being the third party in a relationship. If she had to be his mistress to stay by his side, then separation was the best choice. Therefore, she shook her head. “I won’t regret it.”
In the face of her determination, the Zhou couple said nothing more. Soon, Yan declared that she was going to open up the shop for the day. Then, she left. After she left, Luo Huimei let out a sigh. “They were doing fine before; how did things turn so bad? Looking at Yan, I think there is no going back on this matter.”
“Leave it be. Let the kid decide for herself.”
“That’s for sure. Don’t tell me you want to try to force her to reconcile with Han Qing? Although that kid doesn’t seem like a bad guy… we should respect our daughter’s decision.”
“What a pity. That kid, Han Qing… I kinda like him.”
Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 1354
At the Han residence.
“Cough cough…”
“Mr. Han, are you not feeling well? Should I arrange for you to go to the hospital?” Mr. Nan stood next to Han Qing as he came up with the suggestion with a worried expression.
“Cough cough…” All he received in response was a continuous bout of coughing that tugged at his heartstrings. Looking at Han Qing coughing so badly, he felt bad for him.
When Han Qing returned last night, he was soaked through. Moreover, the weather was very cold that night. Thus, Mr. Nan urged him to quickly take a bath. However, he sat on the sofa alone and in silence for a very long time; a depressive aura wrapped around his entire being, making him hard to approach. Then, he woke up the next day, feeling sick. Due to that, Mr. Nan felt very sorry for him. “Mr. Han, I’ll get the car ready. I will send you to the hospital.”
“No need.” After coughing for a long time, Han Qing managed to squeeze the words out. His stern voice was hoarse as he said, “It’s not a big deal; I don’t need to go to the hospital.”
“Mr. Han, how can you not go to the hospital when you’re coughing so badly? You are being too careless with your health!” Mr. Nan said earnestly. “Even if you’re still young, you must receive proper treatment if you are sick! All illnesses start small!”
Unfortunately, Han Qing paid no heed to Mr. Nan’s nagging. He got up and headed outside. Seeing that, Mr. Nan’s expression changed slightly. “Where are you going, Mr. Han?”
“There’s something I need to do.”
Mr. Nan wanted to accompany Han Qing, but Han Qing refused to bring him along. In the end, he had no choice but to stay at home.
On the way to Yan’s house, Han Qing tried to call her again. Unfortunately, he received the same response as last night—her phone had been turned off. It seemed like she was still angry and was adamantly ignoring him. He was unable to sleep after returning home last night. Realizing that he had made a grave mistake during the day, his eyes had remained open until dawn came.
At that time, Yan was celebrating his birthday. Unfortunately, it triggered the memories he desperately wanted to forget. However, the young lady’s actions were unintentional. After all, he had never told her about it. So, there was no way for her to know that celebrating his birthday would cause such a situation. I was in the wrong; I shouldn’t have hidden it from her. Since I’ve already chosen her, I should have given her my everything without any reservation. Even so, he had selfishly kept his emotional scars a secret.
Thinking about how the young lady had spent the past few days meticulously preparing for his birthday celebration, only to be left behind at the restaurant and laughed at by others, he felt as if his heart was being sliced to pieces by a knife. In contrast, his past suddenly seemed insignificant. It was in the past. Right now, the most important thing was to have her by his side. However, the young lady didn’t seem like she would listen to anything he said. This incident had left her extremely furious. The more furious she was, the more it showed how badly she had been hurt by it.
Besides, he had no intention of forcing his way with her. He planned to wait for her to gradually calm down, then he would tell her everything. Although the phone calls still could not get through, his car had already arrived downstairs of Yan’s house.
When Luo Huimei was about to leave the house, she saw a familiar car parked quietly downstairs. Seeing that, she paused in her tracks. Isn’t that Han Qing’s car? Is he here to look for Yan again? While she was deep in her thoughts, the car window rolled down, revealing Han Qing’s thin side profile. “Madam.” He nodded his head in her direction, then he opened the car door and got out. Thus, she decided to remain where she was and waited for him to walk over.
“Good morning, Madam.” He glanced behind Luo Huimei and noticed that there was no sign of Yan.
“Are you looking for Yan?” She sighed. “Although I don’t know what happened between the two of you, I think you shouldn’t come here looking for her for the next few days.”
He arched his eyebrows at her words. “Why not?”
“She is very furious and not willing to forgive you. Although that girl looked normal this morning, I think that is even more terrifying. The more normal it seems, the more abnormal it is. You’ve heard of this saying, right? Despite what happened last night, she woke up this morning and ate her breakfast as usual. She even joked around with Mr. Zhou and me.”
After listening to Luo Huimei’s description, Han Qing realized that things were more serious than he had imagined. “Cough-cough…” He wanted to say something, but his throat acted up again. Before he could control himself, he coughed out loud.
Hearing him cough, she noticed that his face was pale. Subsequently, she recalled that when she opened the door for him last night, he had been soaked by the rain. Thus, she immediately understood what was going on. “You caught a cold from the rain last night, didn’t you? Your complexion is very poor. You should quickly go to the doctor and get some medication for your cold. Don’t continue to wait here for Yan anymore.”
He did not reply and neither did his body respond to her words. It was obvious that he did not plan to leave. Observing him, she let out a deep sigh. “I understand my daughter’s temperament very well. That girl is normally easy to talk to. She may look honest and easy to push around, but once she has decided to be stubborn about something, nobody can change her mind about it. In the past, her father was very angry at her when she wanted to leave the Ye Group. At that time, he threatened her that if she dared to resign from the Ye Group, he would disown her. Even so, that girl left without a second word. After that, she did not return home for five whole years. After hearing this, you must understand, right? Right now, she doesn’t want to see you, nor forgive you. Even if you continue to wait here for her, she will still ignore you.”
After listening to her advice, his expression twisted again; he looked like he was considerably pained. However, he quickly resumed his smile and neutrally replied, “Madam, I am grateful that you are still willing to tell me this at this point. Even so, there are some things I need to explain to her clearly. If she is still angry at me, then I will wait until she calms down.”
“You… Sigh. Why do you want to suffer like this? Besides, you are sick right now.”
“Madam, please be on your way.”
She looked at him and saw that he had a very determined gaze. Realizing that he was also a stubborn person, she couldn’t be bothered trying to persuade him again, Thus, she decided to leave. Before leaving, Luo Huimei was tempted to inform him that Yan was no longer in the house. As Yan had already left to go to the shop, he should go there instead. However, when she thought about her daughter’s determination to break off the relationship this morning, she decided to stand on her daughter’s side. It’s my daughter’s choice to stop feeling angry whenever she wants to stop feeling angry. At this time, she must not add to her daughter’s troubles.
Han Qing wasn’t sure how long he had been waiting downstairs when his phone rang suddenly. It was a call from Su Jiu. “President Han, the meeting is about to start. Why didn’t you come to the company this morning?”
“Postpone everything.”
When she heard his hoarse voice, she was surprised. “Are you not feeling well, President Han?”
Han Qing did not answer her question. Instead, he said, “Postpone all the work scheduled for the next few days. Take care of everything you can, and postpone the rest.”
She asked, “The important projects…”
“Yes, postpone them all.”
Su Jiu was a little shocked inside, for President Han rarely made such willful decisions. It seemed like something had happened this time around. Thinking back on Yan’s expression when she came looking for Han Qing at the company yesterday, she quietly answered, “I understand, President Han.”
Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 1355
Yan sat in an empty room at the ramen restaurant all day. She made countless mistakes that day—from taking the wrong order to serving the wrong customer. The more she tried to help, the more of a mess she made. The workers at the restaurant could not bear to watch her any longer. They grouped up and brought her to a vacant private room on the second floor to let her rest.
Once Yan sat down, she stayed sprawled over the table and was completely out of it. She felt her belly every now and then while having an empty look in her eyes. How could this happen at a time like this? If I had known about it sooner, I wouldn’t be stuck in this situation here right now.
She became more torn up the more she thought about it. Although she had no intention of falling asleep, her eyelids felt heavy from not getting any sleep the night before. Whenever she closed her eyes, she would hear in her mind, Xu Yanwan is Han Qing’s fiancée. You’re the third person! It kept her awake the whole time. Nonetheless, she was pregnant and she had stayed up many nights before that, which made her exhausted.
Alas, Yan finally fell asleep on the table, but she had a nightmare. In her nightmare, Xu Yanwan forced her against a wall and snapped, “I’m the one who should be by his side. I’m his fiancée. Who do you think you are? You’re just the third person. Do you think you even have a fighting chance?”
Then, all the workers at the Han Group pointed at her and mocked her.
“Oh my gosh! She’s so shameless to get involved in someone else’s love affair. Is it nice being a mistress? How can a girl do something like that? She has no shame or dignity!”
“You’re right. She comes to the company every day to send him soup too. Is that how she wins guys over? There’s nothing good about women like that. She will get abandoned sooner or later.”
“That’s why she’s just a homewrecker. Homewreckers will never win.”
“You disgusting homewrecker. Can you get the hell out of the Han Group? Don’t ever come to our company again. Just seeing you makes me feel sick!”
In her dream, she saw people whom she had met before and some that she had not. All of them were looking at her with animosity and accusing her. She kept backing away from their overwhelming accusations until she bumped into someone behind her. When she looked up, she met Han Qing’s chilling gaze. He looked at her coldly and uttered, “Stop pestering me from now on.”
N-No, this is not right. I didn’t mean to do this. If I knew he had a fiancée, how could I still have stayed close to him? I wouldn’t do that. She kept shaking her head in denial while stepping back anxiously. At some point, she stepped into air and tumbled down the stairs.
“Ah!” Yan awoke from her scream. She clutched onto her belly and felt her racing heart almost beat out of her chest. After falling down the stairs in her dream, she saw blood trickle down her legs and felt a sharp pain in her belly.
Is it because the dream felt too real? She started to feel a blunt pain growing in her belly. Beads of cold sweat from her forehead fell on the table. Before she could calm herself down, the door behind her flung open. Luo Huimei ran over in a panic and bent down next to her. “What’s wrong Yan?”
Upon seeing Luo Huimei, Yan immediately peeled her hands away from her belly. She took a few deep breaths then shook her head. “I’m fine, Mom.”
“How are you fine when you screamed so loudly just now? Look at you; you even broke into a cold sweat.” Luo Huimei felt her heart ache and wiped off the sweat on Yan’s forehead with a piece of tissue paper.
“I’m really fine.” Yan pushed her hand away and plopped back down on the table. “I just had a nightmare. I wouldn’t scream so loudly for no reason and worry you.” She took another deep breath and continued, “Mom, I want to leave for a bit.”
Luo Huimei immediately responded, “Where to? I’ll come with you.”
Yan shook her head. “I don’t mean anywhere nearby, but outside of this city by myself where I can take a breather and let off some steam.” She could not stay here any longer. Since Han Qing was here, she wanted to go to another city for a while and let things get better with time.
“Outside of this city?” Luo Huimei’s expression did not look good. “How can I rest assured letting you go off on your own in the state that you’re in now?”
“Why not?” Yan pursed her lips and smiled, “I’m an adult now. I’m not trying to kill myself and I won’t get kidnapped either. I just want to let off some steam. Don’t worry, Mom, I will be back as soon as I feel better. I just need you and Dad to look after the shop while I’m away. But if you’re tired, we can just close the shop for now.” She did not have any more energy left to look after her shop. She did not mind even if she failed to live up to Lin Xuzheng’s expectations. I’ll just let him take me as someone who goes back on her words and who is irresponsible. With that, she closed her eyes wearily.
…
Yan moved into action right away once she made her decision. She planned to start packing as soon as she returned home that day, but who knew she would see Han Qing’s car and Han Qing himself outside her house? When she spotted him, she did not know how long he had been waiting for. But she took the chance before he noticed her to quickly move forward and make her way upstairs while keeping out of his line of vision. At the moment, she did not want to meet him or speak to him.
Regardless of how fast she walked, however, he still had longer legs than her. He caught up to her in a second and blocked her path.
“Let me pass. I don’t want to say a word to you.”
Seeing her hostility, Han Qing walked toward her with a heavy heart. “Can’t you try to calm down and talk to me?”
Talk? About what? Yan wanted to laugh at his question. Talk about how I became a homewrecker? She was especially sensitive about the topic. When she thought about how everyone, except her, knew that Xu Yanwan was Han Qing’s fiancée, she felt faint.
“Excuse me, sir. I think I made myself very clear to you last night. We broke up. Moreover, I definitely can’t be friends with you. We’re just strangers now. Why are you blocking my path? If you don’t want me to call the police, then please get out of my way right now.”
His frown deepened after hearing her words. I didn’t think she would be so resolute this time and go to such extremes. How badly did I hurt her? “Yesterday—”
“That’s enough! I don’t want to hear it!” She covered her ears and shook her head violently as she stepped back. “I don’t want to hear anything you have to say. Get out of my way. Now!”
She thought of the people in her dream scorning her and the burden she felt from their spiteful gazes. She knew that she could not overcome all of that. The moment she got agitated, she started to feel a blunt pain growing in her belly again and supported herself against the wall as her face became pale.
Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 1356

Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 1357
The woman’s sharp voice was piercing. Although Yan was listening to music, she could still hear her taunts clearly. Yan’s expression grew grim. Who knew I would be this unfortunate to bump into people like these on the train? But she could not be bothered to argue. She closed her eyes and leaned back, turning up the volume to pretend like she did not hear anything. It will be fine once I get off the train.
As it was late in the night, she eventually fell asleep despite not feeling sleepy earlier. Moreover, because it was a night train, the atmosphere had also quietened down for the most part. Being in that environment helped Yan fall asleep. She closed her eyes to get some rest.
Tugging at her coat tightly, she continued to sleep. But not long after, the child next to her started to make a fuss about wanting her earphones again. Someone nearby became annoyed and said to the woman, “Can you control your child? People are sleeping now. Can he stop being so noisy?”
Without any hesitation, the woman rebuked, “Do you want to handle him? What can I do if he’s being disobedient? If you find this noisy, then you should have just bought this whole train to yourself.”
That person only commented because the child was being unreasonably noisy, but he did not expect to get scolded instead. In the end, he could only stay quiet miserably.
On the other hand, the woman must have had pent up frustration because that short rebuke was not enough for her and she continued, “Some people here just don’t know their place. They still expect so much when they only bought an economy-class ticket. Do you think you’re the king to have so many requests? What do you have to say when you couldn’t even buy a premium-seat ticket? Look at you now. You’re too scared to even say anything.”
The person who got insulted became furious. “Who said I couldn’t buy a premium-seat ticket? If it weren’t for the fact that it was all sold out, I wouldn’t have had to buy a economy-class ticket!”
“Oh? You sound so sure of yourself but you still can’t buy off a whole carriage. Who the hell are you? Isn’t it normal for a child to make noise? You don’t have the least bit of decency or care.”
“Sure. You’re right, Madam. I won’t argue with you anymore.”
“You’re backing away now because you have nothing else to say? Are you kidding me?” Suddenly, the woman took out a handful of sunflower seeds and tossed it at the child. “Crack your sunflower seeds. What are you crying for? Didn’t you hear someone scolding you? You’ll get thrown off this train if you don’t stop crying.”
The child became quiet after getting an earful. He also started to crack the sunflower seeds in front of him. Then, the atmosphere slowly hushed down again and Yan let out a sigh of relief. When she was about to fall back asleep, another disturbance occurred. The child had started to throw the empty sunflower seed shells at her.
At first, she did not feel it because of her thick clothing but she slowly started to feel like something was off. A moment later, she looked down and found a bunch of shells on her clothes. When she glanced over at the child, he just looked proud of himself. It looked like he had done it on purpose because she had not let him play with her earphones when he wanted to, so he was taking revenge on her. After thinking for a bit, she pursed her lips and pulled out her earphones. “Madam.”
The woman was also cracking sunflower seeds. When she heard Yan, she turned over to look at her.
“Your child threw all these empty shells on my clothes.” Yan pointed at all the shells on her clothes. She thought the woman would apologize but the woman just glanced at Yan and retorted, “Aren’t they just a few harmless shells? The child doesn’t know any better. Why are you, an adult, trying to even things out with him? Can’t you just use your hands to pat them off?”
Yan had not been in the greatest mood, so she instantly flew into a rage when she heard what the woman said. She wanted to get mad at them but it did not feel quite right. She looked at the woman for a while then said, “Don’t you think there is a problem with the way you’re parenting your child? Not throwing it in the rubbish bin is one thing, but he’s throwing it at someone else, and you even think I’m being calculative with him?”
“Aren’t you? He’s not even that big yet. You look like a bright young lady. How can you be so mean? How am I supposed to explain to a child at this age? I already told you that he doesn’t know any better. Wouldn’t patting the seeds away yourself solve the problem?”
The people around them heard the commotion and were all spectating the scene instead of sleeping.
Yan scoffed, “His saliva is all over these seeds. How would I know whether he’s healthy or not? What will happen if I catch something from him because he’s spitting his saliva everywhere?”
She had spoken out of anger, but she did not intend on speaking ill of the other party. Nonetheless, she was still furious. If the woman had apologized to her, quickly got rid of the shells on her clothes and lectured the child, then maybe Yan would have just let it go. But not only did the woman not apologize, she even acted entitled and was unreasonable which was the last straw for Yan. Impudent child. She doesn’t even care to teach him the right way!
However, the woman also became furious. “Goodness gracious! How are you so vicious, young lady? To curse my child with an illness!” The woman seemed to have been incredibly disturbed and started wailing in the carriage. “What do you think of this, everyone? My child accidentally dropped some empty sunflower seed shells on this decent-looking young lady’s clothes; he’s a child after all so it’s normal for him to act up, but she just cursed my child with an illness! How can she do this? Good heavens. Everyone, help me make sense of this!”
She started to cry out in anguish but no one spoke up for her. First, it was her child who made a big fuss and now it was her turn. Everyone was annoyed with them and had no intention of speaking up for her. She kept going for a while. When she realized that no one was coming to her aid, she started to scold Yan again. “Tell me. How can a young lady like you be so vicious? You’re not married and you don’t have any children yet, right? I’m telling you; your own child will be cursed!”
Yan was pregnant at the time. Triggered by the woman’s insult, she smirked and said, “If you can’t teach your own child properly and are just letting him make a mess everywhere, then you shouldn’t have given birth in the first place and cause trouble for other people. You’re lucky that you met someone like me today, and not a hot-tempered big man. Otherwise, your child would have gotten thrown off this train a long time ago. Also, what do you mean by accidentally dropping these shells? He obviously threw them at me on purpose. As his guardian, you’re being too aloof and you’re just letting him do whatever he wants. Judging by your age, you must be his grandmother, right? You’ve raised your grandson to be an uncultured swine. Are your son and daughter-in-law even aware?”
Before this, Yan was just not bothered to say anything to her but it did not mean that she did not know how to speak. The string of crude remarks she made now angered the woman beyond words. A few other people, who were annoyed by the woman, began to admire Yan.
When Yan finished, she shot a final glance at the woman. She was getting ready to put her earphones back in when the woman suddenly grabbed her frail arm. “How dare you speak to me that way? Apologize right now or you will never see the end of this!”
Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 1358
Yan was caught by the arm, leaving her stunned. The woman was too strong. Furthermore, Yan had thin arms and she was almost pinching her. Yan’s complexion changed instantly as she yelled, “Let go of me! If you keep this up, I’ll call the train officer.
“Go ahead and call them over so that they can have a look at your vicious ways. I’d like to see if you’ll still bully me and my grandson!”
“Quickly apologize!” The child on the side also became infuriated and threw a handful of sunflower seeds onto Yan’s body.
The people around witnessed this thrilling scene, but no one stepped out to help.
“The one in the wrong is you. I won’t apologize for this.”
The woman wanted to say something more when she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her arm as if the bones in them were about to break.
“Let her go.” A low, cold voice rang from above their heads.
As soon as the woman looked up, she saw a handsome and tall man standing next to her. He was gripping her arm at this moment, his face so cold it looked as if he was about to kill her. It was probably because his aura was extremely icy, so the woman was frightened. She suddenly released her hand that was clutching Yan’s arm and looked at the man who had just appeared.
“W-Who are you? Hurry up and let go of me!”
Yan’s arm was hurting after being grabbed by that woman, but the sound of the male voice made her forget all about the pain. When she lifted her gaze, she saw a familiar face that she had often dreamt about. Han Qing? Why is he here? How did he know that I was on this train? I had just randomly bought the ticket, so how did he…
Han Qing said with a gloomy face in a cold tone, “Apologize to her.”
“Apologize? Why should I apologize to her? She was obviously the one who cursed my grandson—ouch!” The woman screamed before she finished her words. Her face was so ugly while she cried out, “Everyone, look! Someone here is bullying an old woman. Can anyone help me?”
The witnesses around lowered their heads and minded their own business. They all pretended as if they had not seen anything. The louder the woman screamed, the greater the strength that Han Qing exerted to grip her arm. After a while, the woman raised the white flag and surrendered. “I was wrong; I was wrong. Please spare me and quickly let go of me.”
Han Qing said with a cold face, “Apologize.”
The woman hurriedly turned to Yan and said, “Young lady, it’s all my fault. My grandson shouldn’t have thrown the sunflower seeds on you and I shouldn’t have scolded you, much less curse at you. Quickly ask your boyfriend to let go of me now.”
Yan was a little surprised and was still wondering why Han Qing had suddenly appeared here. Now that the woman was apologizing, Yan came back to her senses and turned her head. “He’s not my boyfriend and he has nothing to do with me.” Then, she sat down.
The woman was speechless. “Young lady, isn’t this your boyfriend? If he’s not your boyfriend, then why would he stand up for you? You should quickly ask your boyfriend to let go of me. If this goes on, my old back and wrist… I’m going to have a heart attack soon if this continues.”
Yan did not want to talk. The wicked would be bedeviled by the wicked. She deserved her punishment now. Before she could react, Han Qing had already let go of her and stepped forward to grab Yan’s wrist. “Come with me.”
When Yan saw this, she furrowed her brows. “May I ask who you are? Don’t touch me.”
Han Qing frowned slightly. “Yan, don’t stay here.”
Yan replied subconsciously, “I’ll stay wherever I want to; you can’t control me.”
The people around were watching this dramatic scene unfold. They probably did not expect Yan’s boyfriend to appear so suddenly and render the woman from earlier speechless. They even saw that Han Qing wanted to take Yan away. The woman hurriedly pulled her grandson to stand up. “Mister, please sit.”
Everyone else was stunned speechless at this. Sure enough, it was true that the wicked would be bedeviled by the wicked. Han Qing did not sit down but got up to walk to Yan’s side. “Will you walk by yourself or should I carry you over?”
Hearing this, Yan widened her eyes and looked up at him. “What the hell are you trying to do? Didn’t I say before that I want to break up with you? I don’t want to be together with you anymore, so why are you following me?”
“I didn’t agree to this.”
“What?”
“What you said about breaking up; I didn’t agree.” As such, the two were still a couple.
Yan was stunned for a moment. She did not expect Han Qing to say such shameless words. She simply replied, “I don’t need your permission to break up. My decision alone suffices.”
“You’re still not getting up?” Han Qing did not continue on this topic and merely said, “I’ll give you ten seconds. If you still won’t get up, then I’ll carry you out of here.”
Yan looked at his firm gaze and felt that he would definitely keep to his words. However… she was stubborn and did not want to get up. What right does he have to determine everything by himself? Who does he think he is? Why should I listen to him? She insisted on sitting there and ignoring him.
Yan grabbed the seat in front of her and sat there stubbornly. However, she subconsciously counted to ten in her heart. Sure enough, when she had counted to one, her entire being was lifted into the air as Han Qing carried her. During the entire process, she was left with no time to react. Before she could say anything, she was already taken away. “What are you doing? Let me down! Han Qing, you b*stard! I don’t want to go with you. Why were you following me? Let go of me! Let go of me…” Yan struggled hard to get out of his arms.
Han Qing grabbed her tightly and said, “If you don’t want to fall, stop struggling. I’ll take you to another carriage.” He then took her to another carriage.
As she was being carried on the way there, she was being watched by others. When they finally stopped, Yan found that Han Qing was standing in front of the bunk bed while discussing something with the owner. Han Qing wanted this spot, but that person was unwilling.
Han Qing then said that he would buy the spot with money, to which the current host directly said, “Should I just sell it to you just because you want to buy it? I spent time buying this ticket. I definitely won’t sell it.”
“10,000. Are you willing to sell?”
The owner of the bed was shocked. He did not expect Han Qing to make such a generous offer. He was stunned for a while before he could react. At this moment, the man who was on the top of the bunk bed heard it and put away his phone before sliding down numbly and looking at him with eyes shining brightly. “10,000? Are you for real? I’ll sell it. I’ll sell you guys this spot. Would you prefer mobile transfer or cash?” he asked urgently and even took out his phone.
The man who owned the lower spot of the bed immediately stood up after seeing the other man being so enthusiastic. “Why are you stealing other people’s business? Hey, forget about 10,000. I’ll even sell it to you for 5,000.” To earn 5,000 by just giving up his spot, he would be a fool to refuse such an offer.
“You should buy mine. 4,000 will do.”
“Sh*t, you…”
Yan, who was still in Han Qing’s arms, was baffled by the scene in front of her. Is it necessary to go to this extent?
Han Qing put Yan down, grabbed her waist, and took out his phone. “I’ll take both and transfer you the money.”
Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 1359
Yan was speechless. When Han Qing had paid the money, Yan could not help but scold him, “Are you crazy? These two tickets don’t even cost so much but you actually spent 20,000 to buy them!” Is he a fool? Although she knew that Han Qing was rich and this 20,000 did not mean much to him, this wastefulness still dumbfounded her.
The two men who received the money were looking at their phones with joy. Then, they turned to look at Yan and Han Qing while saying sweet words to them. “Pretty lady, your boyfriend is so generous. You’re blessed to have found such a boyfriend. Be sure to cherish him.”
“What does this have to do with you? I never said that he’s my boyfriend,” Yan rebuked. She wanted to struggle, but Han Qing was keeping a tight hold on her and refused to let her escape.
“Hehe, looks like you guys are bickering. No wonder he chased after you into the train even though he’s able to afford lavish things. He’s really putting in the effort. Good job, brother. I wish for the two of you to live happily ever after.”
Originally, Han Qing thought that they talked too much and only spouted nonsense, so he wanted them to quickly pack up and leave. However, after the man unexpectedly wished for them to live happily ever after, he moved his lips and replied, “Thank you.”
After that, the two quickly packed up their things and left. While they were packing, Yan had been trying to struggle out of Han Qing’s arms, but he did not let her go. In the end, Han Qing placed her things beside the berth and asked her to sit down on the bed. It was very quiet here as everyone else was sleeping. After the two people had left, this place returned to silence.
In such a quiet environment, Yan could not speak loudly, let alone lose her temper. She could only lower her voice while looking at Han Qing. After thinking about what she wanted to say, she turned around. After a moment, she turned back around and said, “Are you crazy for spending 20,000 on this?”
Han Qing did not know what to say. Unexpectedly, she was still on this matter. Facing her angry gaze, Han Qing sighed and said helplessly, “For me, these things aren’t important.” The important thing was that this young lady in front of him had been bullied just now. If he did not bring her here, she would have continued to be wronged over there.
Han Qing began to tidy up the bed while Yan watched quietly by the side. She found his movements to be a little awkward. It was obviously his first time doing such things. Thinking of this, Yan asked subconsciously, “Is this your first time taking the train?”
Han Qing paused before saying, “There’s a first time for everything.”
Is he crazy? “I randomly booked this train ticket. How did you find me?” Yan still could not believe that she would meet Han Qing on the train. She felt that this pain was all part of a dream. No, perhaps the happy memories from before were just a dream. Now, she had awoken, and she should retreat to her original position from before. In the real world, there was a huge difference between the both of them. The position next to him belonged to someone else.
Han Qing arranged the pillow for her and raised her feet, causing Yan to subconsciously press down his hand. “What are you doing?”
“Aren’t you sleepy? Go up and sleep,” Han Qing said while taking off her shoes. Yan wanted to resist and stop him, but before she could do so, she was carried by Han Qing and placed on the bed. He then covered her with a blanket.
What’s the meaning of this? After coming here, he doesn’t say anything and is just doing these things directly. Thinking of Xu Yanwan, Yan started to feel sad. “You haven’t answered my question. How did you find me?”
Han Qing moved gently to tuck the blanket in for her while pursing his lips tightly. Probably due to her stern glance, he lifted his head and explained, “I’ll be able to find you if I want to. Take a nap first, you don’t look so well. We’ll arrive when you’re awake.” His tone was neutral, just like a glass of lukewarm water.
Yan felt like her heart was sliced into pieces. She closed her eyes and could feel the heat radiating from her eyes. “Is this another way of compensation? Do you think everything you’re doing now will be able to earn you my forgiveness after what you’ve been hiding from me?”
Han Qing’s complexion darkened after she mentioned the things he had hidden from her. It was not because he did not want to tell her about what happened in the past, but because he did not find it necessary to share his dark past with someone he loved. Those were his painful memories, so why would he want to tell her so she would suffer with him? All he wanted for her was a loving and happy bright environment, not one filled with flames and piercing cries.
“I didn’t purposely hide it from you.”
“Then why didn’t you tell me all this while?” Yan still could not accept the fact that she had suddenly become the third party. Upon thinking, her head felt like it was going to burst. She immediately turned her body before Han Qing could say anything. “It’s fine, you don’t have to explain anymore. You can’t change the fact. You can just go back and stop following me when the train arrives at the stop.” She came out to relax, or to put it another way, to forget about Han Qing. If he keeps following and pestering me, then what’s the point of my trip? The more she thought about it, the angrier she got. Yan decided to just cover herself with the blanket and ignored Han Qing.
Han Qing did not plan to tell her when she was still angry because she was being too irrational now. Although he did not feel like the matter was that serious, it was natural for the young lady to pay more heed to it since all her efforts were destroyed and made fun of. Han Qing decided to accompany her to do whatever she wanted to do in these few days. He would only tell her about the past when she had cooled down from her anger.
A deep sigh sounded from above Yan’s head. She could only hear Han Qing’s words after a while, “Just sleep. Take a good nap. I’m here for you.”
Upon hearing his words, Yan could not stop her eyes from reddening as tears flowed down. If it was before, she would think Han Qing was treating her well and felt secure after hearing his words. However, now… it all felt like a great irony to her.
He is someone with a fiancée. He chased after me to where I am and left his fiancée at the company. The funny thing is I did not know anything about it and had personally sent the fiancée to him. We even sent her to the hospital together and brought her food. Xu Yanwan is probably laughing at me. She thought back to the message that Xu Yanwan sent her about how she would be the one who would be at Han Qing’s side and he would take responsibility for her. She did not want him to be responsible for her; she did not want…
Yan’s tears were flowing heavily, but she could only suppress her sobs and chokes by biting her lower lip, as Han Qing was above her. Even though she was trying very hard to control her crying, there were a few sobs that slipped through her lips. Han Qing’s heart clenched when he heard her crying at the side.
Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 1360
The train ticket that Yan bought was to a place far away. She had intentionally chosen a remote place. The two of them now had to sit on the train for almost two days. Initially, Yan thought it would be easier to go through this alone. However, Han Qing was now by her side and protecting her. She regretted buying a ticket for such a long journey. If she knew that he would be tagging along, she would have bought a ticket for a shorter trip. That way, the two of them could go their separate ways after arriving at the station.
At first, Yan kept crying while enveloped in a strange silence. After growing tired from all the crying, she fell asleep while holding onto the blanket. When she woke up, she did not know how much time had passed. The train was still moving, but a bright white moon in the shape of a fish belly could be seen in the sky outside the window, so she guessed that she had been asleep for a couple of hours. Her eyes did not hurt as much as before, but they were still uncomfortable. After all, she had not been getting much sleep lately.
After blinking her eyes, she closed them involuntarily. A moment passed, and she suddenly felt that something was wrong. It felt as if someone was touching her back—it was something warm and hot. After thinking about it carefully, Yan quickly gave a reaction. This is… Han Qing’s back.
After realizing that it was Han Qing’s back, Yan felt her body freeze. He’s lying down by my side? How long has he been here? How did I not realize it? Han Qing’s back was very warm and broad, giving her a sense of security. However…
“You’ve woken up?” As Yan was thinking, Han Qing’s low voice suddenly rang out. As their two backs were pressed against each other, she could faintly feel the vibrations when he spoke. He was asking her a question. However, Yan did not move and just continued to lie there quietly without answering him.
“Are you still angry at me?”
Angry? Yan pursed her lips. If she was only angry, then everything would be fine. At least, anger would dissipate. However, she was not only angry but sad and heartbroken. How could all these dissipate just like that?
After not getting an answer from her, Han Qing sighed silently in his heart. This young lady was so angry that she had yet to calm down; she was unwilling to even say a word to him.
As such, the two continued to lie back-to-back quietly. Yan’s body was cold, and she was lying there like a brick of ice while Han Qing’s body was warm. At first, he did not think of lying down here. However, after noticing that the young lady was not warm enough, he lay down with his back against her so that he could serve as her heater. The heat from his body was transmitted to her through their backs pressed against each other. Gradually, Yan’s body warmed up. As the two of them had nothing to say, they only lay quietly. The train was moving forward, but it was unknown in which direction. Yan’s heart was feeling lost at that moment. Finally, she closed her eyes in a daze and fell asleep once more.
When she woke up again, it was already bright outside. There were people on the train selling breakfast. When they passed by, several others nearby bought some food from them. Han Qing had also sat up. However, Yan continued to lay there even after hearing the hollers of those selling breakfast.
“Are you hungry? Do you want something to eat?” Han Qing’s voice sounded again.
Yan ignored him. With him here, she did not want to eat at all. If he had not followed her, she might still be interested in buying some food for breakfast, but whether she would eat it after buying it was uncertain.
As if he knew he would not get an answer, Han Qing did not expect a reply after he asked the question and bought the food anyway. However, the breakfast served on the train was very simple. Han Qing had never eaten something like this before.
“I’ve bought breakfast, so get up and have some. If you’re still sleepy after eating, you can still nap after.”
Yan continued to ignore him, but after thinking about it, she lifted the blanket and sat up. She looked at the breakfast in Han Qing’s hand and sneered, “Aren’t you comfortable? You’re accompanying me to take this trip on a train like this and eating such cheap food for breakfast with me… A life like this isn’t one a person like you should lead, right?”
Han Qing kept quiet.
“You haven’t eaten food like this before, right? That’s right. After all, you’re a rich man. However, I’ve lived like this since I was a child. We come from two different worlds.”
Han Qing finally frowned at her words. “What are you trying to say?”
“My intentions are very obvious. I want to break up with you.”
“I don’t agree to it.” Han Qing rejected her directly.
Yan bit her lower lip and said, “What right do you have to reject this? I am the only person that needs to decide to break up. I don’t want you anymore. Even if you don’t agree to it, that’s none of my business!”
“Of course, it’s your business.” Han Qing single-handedly pulled her over to him. He put his forehead against hers and with a deep breath, he said, “When we first got together, I already decided to acknowledge you as the person I’ll spend my life with. You’ve provoked me and now you want to break up with me? Do you think it’s possible?”
Acknowledge me for life? Even if Yan was still in a hot temper, she was still taken aback when she heard this sentence. However, when she recalled that she was the third party in the relationship, she thought that the sentence sounded particularly mocking. With a sneer, Yan pushed him away. “You say that, but do I feel the same?”
Han Qing was stunned as he looked at Yan in front of him. Those clear and moist eyes from before were now full of struggle and pain while she kept saying words that hurt him. “Do you understand things now? I said I don’t acknowledge you, so I want to break up. Don’t stop me.”
It was unknown what Han Qing was thinking about. He was looking at her quietly, then he finally spoke up after a moment, “Regardless of whether you acknowledge me or not, I’ve already decided on you, so I still won’t agree to the breakup.”
“Han Qing!” Yan was so angry that she called out his name.
The person who was called out retreated with a blank look and asked her, “What do you want to eat? I bought a lot. Which one do you want?”
Yan was speechless.
“Let’s drink a glass of warm water first. If you eat right after waking up, it might cause your stomach some discomfort.”
It was as if Han Qing could not sense her anger for him at all and kept taking care of her. Seeing him like this, Yan became angrier. What right did he have? What right did he have to follow her into the train and ask her if she wanted to eat after hurting her as if nothing had happened? Thinking of this, Yan curled her lips and turned her head coldly without drinking the water Han Qing had handed to her.
Han Qing was not angry and patiently shifted the cup before moving it in front of her again. “Be good. Just take two sips.”
Yan continued to turn away, but Han Qing followed her movements with the glass of water in his hand. Before Han Qing got bored of this, Yan was the first to get tired. She ended up glaring at him. “What exactly do you want?”
Han Qing looked at her with a fixed gaze and uttered a few words with his thin lips, “You know what I want.”
When he said these faint words, Yan seemed to sense a bit of grievance in his tone. Grievance? She thought that she had sensed it wrongly. Why would Han Qing have this sort of emotion? What possible grievances could he have?
Suddenly, Yan turned around angrily and smiled mockingly. “Do you feel very aggrieved?”
Han Qing continued to stare at her. “What do you think?”
What sort of grievances could you be having? I’m the one that’s supposed to feel this way!
