A middle-aged woman’s voice rang out in Tang residence’s living room.
“Yuanyuan, are you ready yet? Why are you taking so long to get changed? Please don’t tell me that you’re snacking again!”
“U-Uh, I’m not! I’m almost ready!”
Mrs. Tang couldn’t help but roll her eyes when she heard Tang Yuanyuan. She couldn’t believe that Tang Yuanyuan was secretly snacking again when she said she was going to change.
A moment later, Tang Yuanyuan’s figure finally appeared upstairs as she dashed down the stairs carrying a small backpack. There were biscuit crumbs on the left corner of her lips and a dash of cream on the right corner of her lips.
“Mom!”
Mrs. Tang shook her head helplessly when she saw Tang Yuanyuan. This gluttonous girl didn’t even bother to wipe her mouth clean.
“Did you snack secretly?”
When Tang Yuanyuan stood in front of Mrs. Tang, the latter asked again, “Did you eat anything secretly?”
“Of course not, Mommy. Why would I snack secretly?”
Right when she finished, Mrs. Tang reached out to pick on the biscuit crumbs on the left corner of Tang Yuanyuan’s lips. “What is this?”
Tang Yuanyuan looked around awkwardly when she saw the biscuit crumbs before she grinned and explained, “Fine. I just ate a tiny piece of biscuit, Mommy.”
“What about this?”
Mrs. Tang wiped the cream on Tang Yunayuan’s right cheek off.
Tang Yuanyuan pursed her lips before she bit her lower lip and apologized, “I’m sorry, Mommy! I was too greedy. I will pay attention next time!”
“Alright. You’ve already eaten them anyway.” Mrs. Tang cleaned the cream stain off her daughter’s face before tidying her hair. “You’re already 16 years old now; why can’t you still control your appetite? Look at those girls who are tall and slender. Don’t you want to be like them?”
“Um.” Tang Yuanyuan lowered her head and glanced at her own body. Then, she blinked and quipped, “But I can’t resist the temptation of food! To me, food is way more important.”
“You won’t think this way when you meet someone that you like in the future. Luckily, my daughter is a natural beauty. You still look adorable even though you’re chubby!”
Then, Mrs. Tang pinched Tang Yuanyuan’s cheeks. “Alright, I’ve already placed all of your luggage in the car. Mr. Zhang will be fetching you to school.”
Tang Yuanyuan suddenly thought of something. “By the way, did Yishu call me?”
“He did. Yishu said that he would come over to help you unpack later. That’s why I asked you not to be late. He’s actually taking his time out to help you, so stop troubling him.”
“It’s Yishu though! How could it be troubling?”
“Although he’s basically like an older brother to you, he is not actually your older brother, am I right? Yishu can only be counted as your childhood playmate because he grew up together with you. If you continue troubling him, what if his girlfriend gets angry at you?”

“Pfft.” Yuchi Yishu chuckled lightly. His voice was raspy. “How is that possible? I’ve spoilt her since she was young until now. Why would I bully her? Alright. The bus is here, so I’m hanging up now.”
Then, Yuchi Yishu kept his phone as the gentleness in his eyes faded away.
There was another boy of a similar age and height standing next to him. The boy had a sunny disposition as canines peaked out when he grinned before he slung his arm onto Yuchi Yishu’s shoulder.
“Aunty Han really spoilt that little girl too much to the point that she had to call you to remind you again.”
Zhong Chufeng was Yuchi Yishu’s classmate. The two of them were very close because of an incident that happened when they first met back in the days.
Back then, Yuchi Yishu, who passed by coincidentally, saved Zhong Chufeng from an accident and became his lifesaver. Not knowing how to repay Yuchi Yishu, Zhong Chufeng could only stick together with Yuchi Yishu before they became best buddies.
“We should look after her since she’s still a little girl after all,” Yuchi Yishu’s face was emotionless as he commented nonchalantly.
“Hey, how is she a little girl? She’s already 16 years old now. Please don’t tell me that she’s still as chubby as she was before! I do have to say that Yuanyuan looks really cute despite her greedy habit.”
Before Zhong Chufeng could finish, he could feel Yuchi Yishu’s cold glare landing on him as he turned to him and stopped talking when he noticed that his best buddy looked upset.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, Yishu! I shouldn’t call Yuanyuan chubby! She’s cute!”
Yuchi Yishu warned coldly, “Do not mention that word in front of her anymore. She had already grown up now.”
“Of course. How could I ignore your instruction?”
The public bus came shortly after as the two young men with tall and slender built entered the bus and immediately attracted the attention of many of the girls in the bus.

Many of the people on the bus were students as school started today. All of them couldn’t help but want to take their phones and snap a few pictures of Yuchi Yishu and Zhong Chufeng when they saw them.
Yuchi Yishu frowned in the direction of the girls with their phones when he noticed what they were trying to do.
Zhong Chufeng grinned as he approached them. “Hello, girls. Although we look handsome, you can’t just simply snap pictures of us, okay?”
The girls immediately blushed and kept their phones when they heard what Zhong Chufeng said.
“We are sorry, senior. We won’t do it again.”
“That’s right.”
After making sure that those girls wouldn’t snap pictures of them anymore, Zhong Chufeng went back to Yuchi Yishu’s side and shook his head. “We’d garner so much attention every time I go out with you. Why don’t you just be an idol with that face of yours? Why would you want to go to the police academy?”
Then, Zhong Chufeng continued before Yuchi Yishu could say anything, “Sigh, I would have signed up to be an idol if I had your looks. Do you know that the society now is completely different from how it was last time? If you’re good looking, you can gain fans anywhere you go.”
“Are you done yet?” Yuchi Yishu gave him a look. “Why do you talk so much every day?”
“You’d listen to them willingly either way, though. Am I right?”

Yuchi Yishu’s phone rang, indicating a new notification.
Zhong Chufeng became excited immediately. “Quick, Yuanyuan must have sent you a text! Open it and see what she said!”
“Is that any of your business?”
“Of course it is!”

However, Zhong Chufeng did not look through Yuchi Yishu’s phone in the end and chose to look around.
When Yuchi Yishu unlocked his phone, he saw the text message that Tang Yuanyuan sent him.
‘Yishu, are you at school now?’
Maybe because Tang Yuanyuan did not receive a reply after a long time, she added another confused emoji at the end of the text. The corner of Yuchi Yishu’s lips curled up when he saw that expression.
He could already imagine that little girl’s confused face as she would widen her eyes while her rosy face looked at him in confusion.

It took the public bus almost an hour before they reached the school.

There were many junior high schoolers at the entrance of the school. Some of them were sent by their parents, while others came by themselves.
Yuchi Yishu stood by the wall of the right corner of the school entrance. The sight of a good looking slender young man in his baseball uniform standing by the right corner of the school entrance was a sight to see.
When Tang Yuanyuan reached the school and glanced at the school entrance, she’d immediately spotted Yuchi Yishu, who was standing by the entrance’s right corner.
“Yishu!”
A big smile was plastered on Tang Yuanyuan’s face as she got out of the car and ran excitedly toward him before yelling, “Yishu!”
Yuchi Yishu heard a young girl’s voice rang out before he wanted to text the little girl to ask whether she had reached. When Yuchi Yishu looked up, he saw Tang Yuanyuan in a yellow floral dress. Her soft black hair was tied up in a high ponytail as the hems of her dress and her fringe swayed as she ran over. Tang Yuanyuan looked like a full-blown young girl now.
“Yo, the little girl looks so pretty now,” Zhong Chufeng complimented as he grinned cheekily.
“Yishu!”
Tang Yuanyuan finally reached Yuchi Yishu as her dark eyes shone with excitement and happiness when she saw him. “Have you been waiting for a long time?”
“Nope.” Yuchi Yishu placed his phone back in his pocket. “Chufeng and I just reached.”
Tang Yuanyuan only noticed Zhong Chufeng standing at his side when she heard his name and smiled sweetly at him. “Chufeng!”
Zhong Chufeng huffed, “You can only see Yishu. I’ve been standing here since just now, but you completely ignored me!”
Tang Yuanyuan explained awkwardly, “I didn’t see you before because you stood quite far away.”
“Come on, Yishu stood very far away too! You ungrateful kid!”
Right when Tang Yuanyuan wanted to defend herself, Yuchi Yishu walked over and pressed on her head. “Aren’t you hot? Do you still have time to b*llshit with him?”
Uncle Zhang had already opened the car trunk and took all of Tang Yuanyuan’s luggage out.

Then, Tang Yuanyuan went closer to Yuchi Yishu and pulled on his hands before calling him with an upset tone, “Yishu.”
Yuchi Yishu immediately gave Zhong Chufeng a cold look.
“Zhong Chufeng, do not bully her.”
Zhong Chufeng pouted. However, he really liked Tang Yuanyuan’s chubby look. How could this little girl look so cute being this chubby? Although she wasn’t skinny, her facial features were intricate. She also had good skin, making her look lively. Tang Yuanyuan gave off a youthful feeling.
That was why Zhong Chufeng really wanted to tease her. However, every time he teased Tang Yuanyuan, she’d hide behind Yuchi Yishu. Sigh.

Meng Kefei got nervous when she saw the two tall and slender looking young men standing next to Tang Yuanyuan from afar. However, she still sucked it up and tried to calm herself down before heading over to them.
“Yishu, let me introduce you to my best friend, Meng Kefei. Fei, this is Yishu. This is Chufeng.”
Meng Kefei nodded shyly at them. “Hello, nice to meet you guys!”
“Hi, Kefei!” Zhong Chufeng grinned cheekily and waved at her.
On the other hand, Yuchi Yishu was slightly cold as he nodded at her. “Hello.”
Zhong Chufeng went over and offered to carry Meng Kefei’s luggage for her, “Kefei, let me help you.”
Zhong Chufeng was tall and lean. Meng Kefei immediately blushed when he came closer to her. “It’s fine, it’s fine. I can carry it myself.”
“It’s alright. We need to be nicer to girls anyway. I can handle it.”
Then, Zhong Chufeng took over Meng Kefei’s luggage.
Meng Kefei’s luggage was weighty. However, since both young men were from the police academy, they’ve trained a lot, so two pieces of luggage were effortless for them. Moreover, they didn’t need to carry the luggage until they reached the stairs anyway.

“Do you want to sleep on the upper or lower bunk?” Yuchi Yishu asked Tang Yuanyuan, who had rosy cheeks.
Just when Tang Yuanyuan took a look and wanted to speak, Zhong Chufeng mocked, “Yuanyuan, I think you should choose a lower bunk as the upper bunk may not be able to hold your weight.”
Tang Yuanyuan understood the meaning behind his words. Her rosy cheeks turned as red as an apple in an instant, and she hung her head low without saying a word. Yuchi Yishu shot him a stern look. However, Zhong Chufeng continued to mock, “The lower bunk is safer and more convenient as you don’t have to climb up and down. Moreover—”
“Are you done?” Yuchi Yishu questioned in a glacial voice. Zhong Chufeng was startled and glanced at him. At the same time, he also saw Tang Yuanyuan, who hung her head low with a reddened face. In that instant, he recalled what Yuchi Yishu told him on the bus some time back.
Yuchi Yishu said that Tang Yuanyuan had grown up, therefore they shouldn’t mention the word ‘fat’ in front of her. Zhong Chufeng remembered that and had no longer called her fat on purpose. However, when they were choosing a bed, he subconsciously thought that it wouldn’t be safe for her to take the upper bunk, therefore he suggested that she should choose a lower bunk instead. His intention was good, and he didn’t mean to hurt her. In that instant, he was utterly embarrassed.
Just then, Meng Kefei stepped in and held Tang Yuanyuan’s hands before saying, “We’re friends, so why don’t you sleep on the lower bunk while I sleep on the upper bunk? This way, we can whisper to each other at night. I sleep well at night, therefore I won’t disturb you.”
“Kefei…”
“If you sleep on the same bunk bed with someone else who sleeps late in the night or who is restless, you surely won’t be able to sleep. Just take the same bunk bed with me.”
Tang Yuanyuan eventually nodded and said in a lowered voice, “Thanks.”

Upon choosing the beds, they started cleaning up the dormitory. Although Yuchi Yishu and Zhong Chufeng were men, they were efficient and soon cleaned up the room. Meanwhile, the girls were responsible for making the beds. Just then, two other roommates had arrived.
They came in together. Both of them were tall, slender, and fair-skinned girls, who were dressed in fashionable clothes. When they came into the room, they were followed by a few guys who helped them carry the suitcases. However, they never expected that other people had arrived before them. Noticing that the room had been cleaned up, they raised their eyebrows.
When Meng Kefei noticed that their roommates had arrived, she climbed down from the upper bunk and greeted, “Hi.”
Finding Meng Kefei loopy, they pressed their lips together and ignored her. “You guys have already chosen the beds? Why didn’t you wait for us to arrive and discuss it?”
Considering that the girls were going to be roommates, Zhong Chufeng and Yuchi Yishu cleaned up the other bunk bed. Now, they were cleaning the rags in the bathroom. These new girls questioned them in a condescending manner just a moment ago, but now they looked friendly and kind. Meng Kefei stole a glance at Yuchi Yishu. The girls had become friends. Since the room was cleaned, Yuchi Yishu looked at his wristwatch and said to Zhong Chufeng, “Let’s go.”
Zhong Chufeng nodded and moved forward before he said, “Hey girls, we have to leave.”
Disappointment was written all over Tang Yuanyuan’s face as she gazed at Yuchi Yishu and asked, “Yishu?”
Yuchi Yishu walked up to her and stroked her head. “I’m going back to school. Have you bought all the essential items?”
“Yes.”
Looking at her rosy skin, Yuchi Yishu suddenly thought of something and inquired, “You have a training session tomorrow. Have you bought sunscreen?”
“Sunscreen?” Tang Yuanyuan batted her eyes. “I forgot about it…”
It wasn’t something she typically cared about. As soon as she finished her words, Yuchi Yishu knocked on her head and questioned, “How could you forget about it?”

Meng Kefei said considerately, “I have two bottles of sunscreen. She can use mine.”
“You heard that? Kefei has the sunscreen. I’ll just share it with her.”
Looking at the carefree girl before his eyes, Yuchi Yishu heaved a sigh and stroked her head again. “Don’t get sunburned.”

After they walked out of the room, the guys who helped carry the luggage for Zhang Xiaolu and Yuan Yuehan left as well.
When all the guys had left, Meng Kefei’s face remained red.

Zhang Xiaolu, who was tidying her things up, turned around and shot her a funny look.

Tang Yuanyuan and Meng Kefei hit puberty later, and they weren’t as mature as other girls of the same age. Meng Kefei was normal-looking.
