Ch. 111..115: OMG My Crippled Husband is a Hot Powerful CEO Chapter 111-115

Chapter 111: Chapter 111 - Mr. Arrogant

It was unfortunate that Agnes was part of the extended family, the same group of people Alex had enlisted Salvador’s men to protect. Her motives remained a mystery, leaving even Grandpa speechless.

"Nothing. Didn’t you mention giving us a dozen grandchildren?" she inquired, a glint of interest in her eyes. Joanna blushed, feeling a warmth in her stomach.

If only they knew that the extravagant wedding was a charade, they wouldn’t be preparing for a honeymoon.

Her only worry was about how her poor mother was going to take the news after the divorce.

As for Cole and his family, they would be nothing by then. Joanna and Alex had no choice but to go along with it, attending the honeymoon and making the most of their time together.

Joanna couldn’t help but wonder what she would do when Alex preferred solitude. Violet’s presence was a comfort in the vast mansion they called home.

"Thank you," Alex replied in a low, enigmatic tone, sensing there was more to Agnes’s words than met the eye. He knew she wasn’t revealing everything, so he remained cautious about their honeymoon destination.

As the emcee announced the traditional bouquet toss, Alex stepped back, allowing Joanna to throw the bouquet.

He secretly hoped their departure would give Violet and Aiden the opportunity to resolve their issues. That was an escape he was happy about.

Violet stood at a distance, but the bouquet came directly to her, even with Joanna’s back turned, and she flawlessly caught it.

Joanna was excited, despite knowing that Violet was not in a serious relationship.

Miracles could happen, and the length of dating does not guarantee marriage, just as the lack of dating is not a guarantee of spinsterhood.

Congratulatory messages flooded Violet’s way as if she were the bride, simply because she effortlessly caught the bouquet.

Alex and Joanna boarded the hot air balloon waiting for them, unaware of their honeymoon destination.

Due to the heaviness of Joanna’s gown, Alex had to carry her into the hot air balloon, and he wondered what they would have done if he were still pretending to be in a wheelchair.

Guests, family, friends, business partners, and all waved goodbye with well wishes for them to have children after their honeymoon.

Aiden approached Violet as other guests continued to dance, eat, and drink, with some, like grandpa, also leaving.

"The saying goes that whoever catches the bouquet is next in line. Are you?" Aiden asked Violet, attempting to start a conversation with the woman who had treated him like a gigolo after a one-night stand.

Feeling insulted by his attitude, Violet gave him a tight smile, feeling no obligation to explain herself due to his past actions.

"The wedding is over. You don’t have to talk to me," she said, taking a sip of wine and attempting to move away to find a dance partner. However, Aiden caught her hand before she could escape.

He took the empty wine glass from her dropping it on a tray carried by a waiter passing by.

As Violet tried to pick another glass of wine from another passing waiter, Aiden wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her close, as he said,

"Stop giving me attitude. It’s not like I’m in love with you or anything."

Despite Violet’s attempts to break free, his words stung, and she struggled against his surprisingly strong grip.

"Then mind your own business, Mr. Arrogant," she replied through gritted teeth, her anger burning with it.

A smirk lifted the corner of Aiden’s lips, and he was glad Alex wasn’t there to stop him. Anger thickened his voice as he taunted, "You enjoyed that night, didn’t you?"

Violet’s eyes darkened dangerously at the recollection of what transpired between them that night.

"Fuck you, whatever your name is," she raged, trying to pull away from him but being trapped in Aiden’s arms made it impossible for her to escape unless he let her go willingly.

She wanted to scream, but the fact that Aiden was Alex’s best friend and this was Joanna’s wedding made her reconsider such a motive as it would be too demeaning for them.

From the way Aiden pinned her to his chest, anyone would think they were having a sweet conversation, unaware that a silent war was brewing between them.

"What if we do it again?" Aiden leaned in close to her ear and whispered. Violet felt insulted, and her anger burned deep.

"We can be more like friends with benefits," Aiden added insult to injury, and Violet lost her cool, slapping him hard.

The music drowned out the sound of the slap, concealing it from others, but Aiden fixed a stern gaze on her. It was the first time he had been slapped, and by a woman no less.

However, Violet’s harsh words that followed stung even more, "You’re such an asshole, and I never want to see you again."

Aiden, though not interested in her, felt the sting of her words more than the physical pain of the slap. He held her tighter, his eyes locked on hers.

"Does it hurt? You paid me two hundred dollars for my services. How about I pay you more for another night?" His tone was mocking, but his true feelings were hurt.

Violet showed no remorse and attempted to strike him again, but he caught her hand mid-air. "Don’t even try. You were the one who humiliated me first."

"And you were the one who erased all traces of yourself from the cameras. What did you take me for?"

At that moment, she had hoped for a potential connection between them or a chance to meet again, as he had suggested earlier. However, upon realizing he was a friend of Alex, she wanted nothing to do with him.

"I erased the cameras to protect myself, and your payment is an insult."

"Then give it back. And why are you still holding me? Are you falling for me?" Aiden’s arms around her loosened instantly, but his words extinguished something within her.

Chapter 112: Chapter 112 – A Girl of Low Value

"Then give it back. And why are you still holding me? Are you falling for me?" Aiden’s arms around her loosened instantly, but his words extinguished something within her.

Aiden stared at Violet with a look of disgust in his eyes. "Fall for a girl of one-night stands, no way. I don’t dream of getting married, but even if I did, it would be with a girl with more dignity and honor."

Violet paled instantly, and something died within her. This was the worst insult she had ever received in her life.

She never cried for a man, but this time, tears stung the corners of her eyes. She held back instead of letting them fall and ran out of the reception.

Aiden realized the impact of his words, guilt filling his heart as he chased after her.

She was the best friend of his best friend’s wife. Though he wanted to extinguish any hopes of a relationship between them, he knew he had gone too far.

After a thorough search, Violet could not be found. He checked the surveillance cameras and saw Jack talking to her before a car arrived. The man did not step out of the car before Violet entered, so he confronted Jack.

"I saw you speaking to Violet. Where is she?"

"I don’t know," Jack shook his head. Alex had instructed him to take Violet anywhere she wanted to go, but Violet was upset and refused to sit in his car.

"What do you mean you don’t know? I saw you talking to her," Aiden showed him the footage from the CCTV camera, and Jack forced a smile.

"Yes, the boss said I should protect her, but she refused to come to me, instead calling her brother on the phone. I don’t know where they are headed."

’So, she has a brother. Then she’s safe,’ Aiden thought to himself.

"That means we don’t have to worry," Aiden shrugged. Jack wanted to say more but thought otherwise.

From Violet’s conversations with Joanna, Jack had realized that Violet’s brother was not very responsible.

Wasn’t he the one who left her at a club for a girl, and she ended up in a room with an unknown man?

Jack had no idea that the man was Aiden, but he overheard Violet saying she couldn’t find the man’s identity when she paid for the surveillance cameras in the hotel to be checked.

He had wiped them all. "Are you going to tell me what happened?" Travis asked in the car. Violet was reluctant. With such an insult, she couldn’t confide in anyone, including Joanna.

"Nothing. Just take me to the club," Violet instructed. Travis was reluctant since he had a clear head, unlike the night he had drunk so much and left her at the club.

"Dressed like this? I’m taking you home."

"I don’t want to go home," Violet refused, crying like a little girl. Travis was shocked. Violet was tougher than him and would never cry for anything.

"What happened? Tell me, or I’ll take you home. You can’t be sad after attending your best friend’s wedding."

How could she explain that her best friend’s husband’s best friend had insulted her, calling her a woman of no value?

She wiped her tears and forced a smile. "It’s nothing, really. I just miss Joanna already and I can’t help but wonder when it will be my turn to get married."

"Are you feeling jealous?" Travis asked, surprised by the notion, as he knew Violet never displayed jealousy.

"No, not jealous, just feeling like it’s time for me to settle down. Maybe this will be my last night out at the club. I promise to be more responsible after this."

Travis was taken aback by her words, wondering what had changed in his usually carefree sister. Their father had always trusted her because of her dedication to work.

"Alright, let’s have a good time tonight, but you need to change your outfit."

Violet shook her head. "No, this is fine. It should just be the two of us, celebrating my farewell to the wildlife."

Violet remembered the saying that the best revenge was to become a better version of oneself.

"Okay, let’s go." Travis and Violet arrived at the club and opted not to book a VIP room. They settled at the bar, where Violet drowned her sorrows in drinks.

She was relieved that her excuse had worked, as Travis might not have brought her otherwise. However, one thing was certain: she was determined that this would be her last visit to the club.

"Give her a double of whatever she’s having," a man in a black suit with a cigarette in hand remarked as he took a seat on a bar stool near Violet.

"Stay away, I can take care of her," Travis interjected irritably, but Violet stopped him. She wasn’t even tipsy yet, far from reaching her limit.

"It’s fine, Travis. A little chat won’t hurt," she assured him.

The man seemed slightly disappointed but accepted the invitation, engaging in conversation with them throughout the night.

However, amidst the crowd and the loud music, no one noticed another man entering the club and making his way to the bar.

Upon seeing Violet chatting happily and enjoying her martini, something inside him withered, and he turned and left.

"I thought things would be different. What a hypocrite! She feigned offense when what I said was true. Yet here she is, back at the same place with another man," Aiden muttered to himself as he exited the club, keeping his apology to himself.

In his eyes, Violet was exactly as he had described her, so there was no point in feeling guilty or offering an apology. All he had to do was let Alex know that Violet was not a good influence on his wife.

At the designated spot, a hot air balloon landed where a camel was waiting for them. Joana was excited about the adventure, but Alex had a feeling that something was not right.

Chapter 113: Chapter 113 – Apology for Kissing Me

"Alex, is this real? Where is the venue? It’s getting dark," Joanna inquired anxiously as she scanned their surroundings. The only visible options were the camel and the departing hot air balloon pilot.

"I believe the camel rider will lead us to our next destination," Alex replied calmly, observing the situation.

Joanna couldn’t help but wonder why the hot air balloon pilot had left without a word, and the camel rider seemed equally silent.

"Shouldn’t we confirm with him first?" Joanna expressed her concern, to which Alex shook his head. "There’s no need to ask. He wouldn’t be here if he wasn’t expecting us."

Although Joanna felt a sense of adventure, she remained skeptical about the unfolding events.

"If you’re not going to ask, should I?" she proposed.

Alex saw no harm in her inquiry if she doubted the situation. This was the King’s method of ensuring conception during a family member’s honeymoon.

Alex knew about the expectations during a honeymoon but this was his first time experiencing it.

Since he hadn’t seen the final destination, he could not tell whether the original plan was in motion or someone was playing tricks on time.

"Go ahead," he encouraged Joanna.

Approaching the camel rider, Joanna politely inquired, "Hello, what’s your name? Can we avail of your services?"

The rider remained motionless, not acknowledging her presence or responding. Joanna repeated her question, raising her voice slightly,

"Can you hear me?" It felt as though she was conversing with a statue, and the hot air balloon had already ascended into the sky.

As she reflected on the journey, she realized that the hot air balloon pilot had been silent, suggesting the camel rider might be the same.

"What should we do now?" She asked Alex, who smiled and lifted her, placing her gently on the camel.

Joanna felt embarrassed. Alex had been affectionate with her during the wedding, but she felt it was time to maintain some distance now that they were away from prying eyes.

"There’s no need..." Alex climbed onto the camel behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist from behind and whispered in her ear.

"Isn’t the camel rider also a person?"

Joanna grasped the implication of his words. If the camel rider was arranged by the extended family, he could be acting as a spy.

Why hadn’t she realized this sooner? It explained why Alex had been so close to her during the hot air balloon ride.

"It’s my first time on a camel," Joanna turned her head and mentioned, almost brushing her lips against Alex’s.

"So..." She was about to apologize when Alex kissed her to prevent her from speaking, avoiding any suspicion.

As she pulled away, she blushed and looked ahead, but Alex nuzzled her neck affectionately and whispered in her ear again.

"It’s best if you refrain from speaking. How can you apologize for kissing me in public?"

Joanna felt a pang of disappointment. She had thought the kiss was genuine, but it was all part of the act for Alex.

The kiss was a tactic to silence her and prevent any potential trouble. She decided to stay silent to avoid further complications.

They rode through the night on camelback as the stars began to appear in the sky. "It’s so beautiful. I don’t remember the last time I was able to appreciate the stars like this," Joanna remarked.

Driving through town in a car, he had almost forgotten that stars existed until they sparkled in the sky like little diamonds.

It reminded him of the rhyme, ’twinkle, twinkle, little star,’ but before he could say it, Joanna interrupted.

"I’m wondering if this journey was arranged before or after the wedding. We all thought you were a cripple until now, so how could you have made this trip?" Joanna’s question caught Alex off guard, but he realized that arrangements would have been made.

"I suppose the pilot of the hot air balloon and this camel rider would have assisted. They are following the instructions of the person who hired them. It would have been a member of the extended family who made the arrangements, not necessarily Agnes, although she is responsible for it."

Joanna nodded in agreement but noticed a light in the distance. "Is that where he’s taking us? Why are there trees? I thought this place was a desert."

"Did you forget about the Oasis?" Alex asked, Joanna raised brows. "Does it mean your family purchased the fertile part of the desert to build this cabin?"

They arrived at their destination as the camel came to a stop in front of the cabin.

Joanna’s excitement waned as the exterior of the cabin didn’t match her expectations.

"Here? This is our honeymoon destination?" The camel rider departed as soon as Alex helped Joanna down from the camel.

"He’s leaving. Shouldn’t you stop him?" Joanna felt nervous about the situation, questioning the decision to agree to the marriage.

Alone in the middle of nowhere, Joanna realized the man she knew as a cripple was no longer disabled. She worried about his intentions and the potential complications it could bring to their relationship.

"Let’s go inside first. It’s cold out here, and you need to change out of your wedding gown, although I must say, it looks beautiful on you."

The mention of changing clothes piqued Joanna’s curiosity. "We didn’t bring any bags, so what clothes? And how safe is it here? What if we’re attacked by bandits or something?"

Her mind was filled with unsettling thoughts. Alex reassured her, "Don’t worry. As long as there are fewer than twenty bandits, we’ll be safe. You can trust me."

Joanna was taken aback by the revelation, but certain things started to fall into place, like how Alex handled Cole when they first met.

"Have you studied martial arts or something?" she asked.

Alex didn’t respond, but once they entered the cabin, he realized what Agnes had done. He swiftly pushed Joanna behind the door and kissed her passionately.

This time, Joanna was caught off guard by the intensity of the moment, feeling that this was more than she bargained for.

However, everything was made clear the moment Alex pulled away, having gone too far this time.

Chapter 114: Chapter 114 – Honeymoon Night Surprises

Joanna gasped for breath, her fingers pressing against Alex’s chest as she tried to push him away, feeling like he had lost his mind.

However, Alex caught her hand and pinned it above her head.

His warm kisses intensified, his tongue exploring her mouth. Joanna felt a mix of confusion and arousal, unsure if what was happening was real or a dream.

"Alex," she managed to gasp out, but her words were quickly silenced by another kiss.

His fingers trailed down her back, a gesture he had never made before. Joanna’s breath hitched, her heart racing.

This didn’t feel right, but his touch ignited a desire in her that she tried to suppress. Despite her attempts to resist, he paid no heed.

Abruptly, he broke the kiss but continued to press his lips against her exposed neck, eliciting a moan from her.

"Please, just go along with it," he whispered in her ear, his breath heavy and leaving her bewildered.

She refrained from asking questions, wondering if there was someone else present. This was unlike him but also what she feared between the cripple she married to the man who had no problem with his legs.

No wonder he warned her to not fall in love with him. How could he create such a rule when he was hiding something like this?

To her relief, he pulled away and stared apologetically at her. "I think we should shower first. I’m so hungry for you," he said.

Joanna felt her heart sink into her stomach, unsure of how to respond but managing a faint smile, hoping for an explanation.

"What is that?" Alex asked, looking up. Joanna noticed something black in the corner of the room near the ceiling and wondered if that was what Alex was referring to.

Alex turned to face the device and spoke as if addressing someone directly.

"Agnes, how dare you put a camera in my room? Does Grandpa know about this? Do you think this is a joke? Are you trying to watch a porn movie?"

Each question sent shivers down Joanna’s spine as she began to realize the true nature of the family she had married into, trapping herself for the next five months.

Meanwhile, at one of the family houses, Agnes paced back and forth in fear, even though it was late at night. She had not slept, waiting for Alex and Joanna to reach the cabin so she could capture footage to prove them wrong.

Most of the extended family members still preferred Logan as the CEO because he was more flexible, but then Alex caught on to her trick again.

"I told you not to do it," her husband chastised her, and she was afraid for the first time. Grandpa would punish her if he saw the footage.

"How did he know? The cameras were well hidden, but he saw all of them. How?" She demanded from no one in particular.

"From how smoothly he escaped every trap, I didn’t want to get involved anymore. There is more to Alexander than meets the eye, and I think it involves his two-year disappearance after the fire incident," her husband said thoughtfully, making Agnes nervous.

"Is there a way of knowing what happened to him during that time gap? He’s so different from the little Alex we all used to know."

So many questions were left unanswered, and yet another problem was still knocking on their door: how Grandpa would take the news.

"Well, enough about that. Just be prepared to deny any allegations when he returns. Pretend not to know anything about it," her husband advised, Agnes smiled at the suggestion. "Thank you. I will do just that."

At the cabin, Joanna was lost in thought. It was evident that the extended family members still did not believe she and Alex were in love, despite the show they put on.

Joanna felt as if she was compromising herself for money, yet it was never enough.

However, she found solace in the fact that she was doing it for her mother, seeking revenge against Cole and reclaiming what he had taken from her mother and denied her.

Alex, though tall, struggled to reach the corner of the ceiling and had to stand on a chair. In a few minutes, he successfully removed four different cameras, the last one being in the bathroom.

He took pictures and videos with his phone to send to his grandpa, only to realize there was no network connection.

"Damn it!" he cursed, causing Joanna to worry about his reaction. Seeing him always in a wheelchair, she felt like she was dealing with a completely different person. Alex’s physical strength and attractiveness made it hard for Joanna to resist.

"What’s happening?" She asked, a little afraid of what might have gone wrong. Alex looked at her apologetically.

"They installed cameras and there’s no phone signal," he explained.

Joanna’s face paled. "What if there’s an emergency? How do we contact anyone?" She was worried about the lack of communication in case of trouble.

Feeling guilty for involving her in his family’s issues, Alex never expected them to go to such lengths.

"I’m sorry, but there are no more cameras, so we don’t need to pretend anymore," he reassured her.

Confused, Joanna questioned him, "Did you notice the cameras before we... did what we did earlier?"

The question made her cheeks flush with embarrassment, and she wished it hadn’t been brought up.

"Yes, I did. I decided to put on a little show before confronting them to eliminate any further suspicions," Alex explained, planning to use it as evidence during the upcoming family gathering.

Joanna’s eyes filled with dismay as she took in the romantic setup of the cabin. The interior was beautifully decorated with wooden furnishings, but the bed was small, and there was no couch, only two chairs and a table for dining.

On the table, there was an array of wine bottles and a shiny cover. Curiosity piqued, Joanna couldn’t resist uncovering it, and she gasped at what she found.

Chapter 115: Chapter 115 – I Hope You Aren’t Trying to Eat Me

Joanna regretted satisfying her curiosity as she opened the silver cover.

She had hoped for a special welcome meal for their honeymoon, but instead, she found a red transparent lingerie set with matching panty and red boxer shorts.

Embarrassment flushed her cheeks, and Alex, equally curious, felt the same embarrassment upon seeing the contents.

The message was clear – there was no food, and they were supposed to eat each other.

"Is there a closet?" Joanna asked, trying to divert her attention from the items on the dining table.

The Kings were a peculiar family that Joanna struggled to describe. Alex pointed towards the closet door. "Over there."

As Joanna opened the closet, she wished she could remain in her wedding gown, but it was dirty from the desert sand. There are no clothes in here," she said, lowering her head, feeling trapped with a sexy contract husband as there were no decent clothes to begin with.

Joanna had expected to have time to prepare for the honeymoon, not be whisked away immediately after the wedding.

Alex, already feeling depressed from all the recent events, hurried to the closet before fully understanding what she meant.

Agnes had really trapped them with her so-called honeymoon planning. If he had known, he would have insisted on handling it himself. Apart from more sexy lingerie and boxer shorts, there were no other clothes available for them in the middle of nowhere.

If they had genuinely been in love, it would have been a perfect arrangement, but with no love between them, he couldn’t say so.

"I’m so sorry. My shirt isn’t dirty," he said as he removed his blazer, revealing his white shirt, which was indeed not dirtied by the desert sand.

"You can have my shirt when you’re done with your shower." It was the only decent thing available, and due to the height difference, it would reach her knee level, but she didn’t want him walking around bare-chested.

She imagined him with a perfect body like that of a model or those she had seen in action movies.

Her cheeks grew redder at the wild thoughts permeating through her mind as she asked seriously,

"And what would you wear? There are only red boxer shorts in there." Alex hurried to the kitchen and brought out a pair of scissors.

It would be inappropriate for him to wear any of those boxer shorts alone throughout their honeymoon stay.

"What will you use that for?" Joanna panicked as she asked. Alex explained,

"I can change the pants to shorts and wear them with the singlet. You can have my shirt," he offered honestly. Joanna still wondered if they were only going to be trapped indoors.

How she wished to explore around the wet areas of the desert, especially when there was no network connection.

"Obviously, we can’t go out because it’s cold. We are stuck together indoors," she admitted. Alex felt guilty. He knew how tricky the extended stay was but never expected them to get to this level.

Since they were trapped together in a cabin, perhaps little chores could distract them from the obvious.

"I know how to do laundry. I will do it and hang it outside to dry. I can go out in my shorts," he said. However, as soon as he removed his shirt, Joanna realized she was in for a bigger problem at the sight of his abs.

"Do you work out that much?" She found herself asking, feeling self-conscious. She never recalled anyone complimenting her about her body, even though she knew it wasn’t right to be checking him out.

Alex chuckled at her stressed-out form in her wedding gown.

Who knew a wonderful day like that would end up like this? Still, Joanna’s interest in his workout routine got him excited.

"I hope you aren’t trying to eat me," he said jokingly, causing her cheeks to redden.

"I’m sorry, but there is no food. You can do the cooking, and I will handle the laundry and cleaning. How does that sound?"

The only thing he was never taught while growing up was cooking because his mother loved to do it, and he enjoyed it.

Not until her untimely death. Logan was upset with Alex because he killed their father, but what if Logan knew the main reason why Alex did it?

Joanna found the proposal intriguing, especially since Alex was so particular. Maybe it was time for her to get back at him.

"I would prefer if you did the cooking. Who knows what other surprises they have in store? What if there is a gas leak or something?" She crossed her arms, and Alex felt helpless.

His family was capable of anything, and he would have cooked if only he knew how. Somehow, he felt it was too late to learn.

"I don’t know how to cook," he admitted honestly, but he didn’t mention that her food tasted like his mom’s, which was why he loved it.

"I can teach you and help with cleaning and laundry," she offered. Alex smiled.

"Agreed." It was a great opportunity for him to learn something new, and he was glad it involved food.

Joanna was about to take a shower, but she couldn’t unzip her gown, so she looked at Alex with embarrassment.

"Can you help me with my zipper?" she asked.

Alex, feeling a bit awkward but knowing he had no choice since they were stuck together, pulled her into his arms and closed his eyes before he carefully unzipped her gown without taking advantage of the situation.

"You should go now before I open my eyes," he warned. Joanna respected him deeply, and any thoughts of him taking advantage of her vanished.

"Okay, you can open your eyes now," she called out from the bathroom. After her shower, she realized she had forgotten to take Alex’s shirt as he had offered.

The idea of wearing any of the lingerie in the closet was unappealing to her, so she shouted from the bathroom, "Alex, the shirt."

There was no response, and she wondered if he had left. She called out louder, "Alex, the shirt."

Still no response, but she heard strange noises coming from the kitchen.

Wrapping a towel around her chest, she went to investigate and froze in her tracks.

"What on earth happened here?"
