Ch. 161..165: OMG My Crippled Husband is a Hot Powerful CEO Chapter 161-165
Chapter 161: Chapter 161 – How can he be gone?
"Everyone, out," Alex yelled as he forcefully carried Joanna. There were just fifty-nine seconds for the bomb to go off, so if Alex had not seen it in time, they would have all perished in there.
However, Joanna was concerned for Mia and her father. "Dad and Mia are in there," she yelled. Alex was not thinking about protecting his image anymore and instructed,
"Jack, get her out. I will bring them." He handed Joanna over to Jack. The latter wanted to tell him to go with Joanna, that he would bring Mia, but there was no time to argue.
Throwing Joanna gently over his shoulder, he carried her out of the building despite her resistance.
Jack knew she would be stubborn as always, especially when it wasn’t his boss carrying her, which is why he used that method. Who knows? He might just make it back in time to help Alex.
"Call the ambulance when you get out," Alex instructed, as he and Dario screamed, "Everyone get out, there is a bomb."
The medical team was running out, except those in the theater who seemed to have no idea what was going on.
"Sir, there are just ten seconds left. You have to leave too," Ike said worriedly, ready to take on whatever responsibility Alex would give him, even if it cost him his life. But it was as if Alex was not listening to anyone, making his way to the theater.
"This place is going to blow up!" He yelled. The four people stared at him in horror just before the building went up in flames.
Outside, Jack had just succeeded in bringing out Cole, carrying him on his shoulder from the hospital bed when the building went up in flames.
The emergency services had arrived when Jack had not even made the call due to the sound of the blast and the fire.
Someone must have made a call due to all that, but Joanna was shaking from fear.
"No! Alex." She was running towards the fire without another thought, but Jack was fast enough to stop her after handing Cole over to the paramedics.
"You can’t go in there. It’s too late," Jack spoke in a disheartened voice. He was too late to rescue his boss, but Joanna was uncontrollable.
A part of him was missing the moment the building went up in flames. "Then let me die too," she yelled. Salvador’s men could only watch in tears.
They lost their leader as well, and Jack knew that Salvador was also gone. Even as the ambulance left, Joanna stayed behind as the firefighters battled the fire, tears streaming down her cheeks.
A car drove in their direction, and Violet ran out. "Joan, what happened? I saw you on the news."
Joanna had no idea when the media arrived and covered the whole incident but did not care. Something had died inside of her, making her feel soulless at the moment.
"He’s gone, V, Alex and Mia are gone," Joanna broke down, her countenance causing everyone around to shed tears.
Violet did not care about Mia but was worried for Alex. "How can he be gone? I know this building."
She was curiously looking around for the emergency exits, but with the fire and all, it seemed impossible.
"What are you talking about?" Joanna asked. It wasn’t just her but also Jack and Salvador’s men.
"This building is owned by a mafia organization, and only members of their organization get treated here," Violet revealed. Joanna was finding it hard to piece it all together.
"Alex and Mia were in there before the building went up in flames. It’s all my fault. I told him to save Mia," Joanna burst into tears. Violet hugged her and approached the firefighters.
"Can you let me in?"
Everyone was shocked, but the captain of the firefighters refused her entry. "Lady, the cops would be here soon, and they will be in charge of investigations. You can’t go in."
The police sirens were already in the air, and Violet’s enthusiasm gave Joanna hope.
"You don’t know this building as much as I do. There is a secret tunnel and bulletproof doors," Violet insisted. Joanna’s eyes shone with hope.
"Bulletproof doors? Does it mean they are still alive?"
The captain did not want to give them false hope. "Look, we can’t confirm that. As you can see, the whole building is collapsed, and the fire department would have found something by now if it were so."
It made sense that there couldn’t be any survivors, but here lies the case, no casualties had also been brought out.
The police took over the case as Joanna asked their superior. "At least we should see their corpses to confirm they are dead?" She was hanging on to the little shred of hope Violet gave her, just as the investigator tried to dim it.
"Fire incidences aren’t like others. This is an explosion, so chances are, the bodies must have been torn to pieces or even be turned beyond recognition."
"But there must be traces. Pieces of bones or some kinds of human remains," Joanna countered, looking helpless and pale.
"We are here to investigate. Give us your contact and go home. We shall call you when we need more information." The investigator brought out a pen and notepad, but Joanna took a step back.
"I’m not leaving. I’ll stay right here," she insisted, and with Violet by her side, no one could convince them otherwise.
"We shall stay too. Just do what you must," Jack said, removing his jacket and covering Joanna’s shoulder with it.
He took that of one of the bodyguards and did the same for Violet, as they sat there, waiting for news.
Embracing each other, Joanna couldn’t stop shedding tears. Only if she hadn’t insisted on Alex helping Mia, then he would have been safe. Was it even right for her to help Mia after all she, her mother, and Cole did to them?
"I’m so stupid. I shouldn’t have let him go. I shouldn’t have allowed Alex to go in there."
"I’m surprised you allowed him, but what exactly happened?" Violet asked, saddened to not have been there to help.
As Joanna explained it all, Violet could not blame her. "You did the right thing."
The fire department finished their job, and the cops found nothing. "We are sorry, ma’am, there are no survivors," the investigator said in a deflated tone, the color drained from Joanna’s face, and everything was going dark. At the same time, Violet’s phone rang.
"Joan, I will get you to the hospital," she said as Jack carried Joanna, but seeing the caller ID, Violet’s heart stopped. "Aiden?"
Chapter 162: Chapter 162 – I’m doing it for Joan
Earlier.
"Everyone out, there is a bomb," Alex and Dario yelled together, one of the doctors spoke hastily.
"There is a tunnel and the doors are bulletproof." He pointed at the door, Dario caught what he meant and opened it.
Turned out the entrance to the bulletproof tunnel was right at the theatre because those were the most vulnerable people in times of an emergency in a case of a mafia feud.
However, Alex had not forgotten his reason for coming in, so even as the doctors were rushing to the tunnel, he kept a close eye on the patient on the surgical table.
Her chances were slim, but it was better to try than to give up entirely.
"Find a way to keep the girl alive," he instructed, watching as the doctor pushed the operating table to the tunnel without disconnecting the tubes.
Mia was slid after some of the doctors had gone ahead, holding her carefully in the tunnel.
Being under general anesthesia, she had no idea about what was going on, but they hardly closed the entrance of the tunnel after Alex went in when the building went up in flames.
With the doors being bulletproof, it took time for the surgical theatre to go into flames, allowing them enough time to escape from the fire.
However, what they did not expect was for the tunnel to lead them to a different city by the time they made it out. The ride was almost like a train ride, away from the fire.
The original owner had made it in a way that should a feud occur, he could escape through the tunnel and appear in a different city, so the cops or FBI would not be able to trace their whereabouts and assume they were dead.
By the time they reached the end of the tunnel, Aiden was there with a helicopter, stunning Alex. "How did you know?" Alex asked, and Aiden chuckled.
"As soon as I heard the news, I knew there was something wrong and you couldn’t just die. This was the hospital I got treated at three years ago, so I know a few things," Aiden explained. Alex remembered when Aiden was shot by a gang back then.
Those two had survived hard times and always ended up together. "Quick. We have to get Mia to a hospital."
Aiden frowned. "What do I care for the bitch?" He shrugged, not caring as the doctors were trying to get Mia on the helicopter.
"Quick, I’m doing it for Joan," Alex said sternly. Aiden pursed his lips, slightly disappointed.
In the end, he helped them to the hospital with the chopper, and when they were finally alone, Dario spoke up.
"Finally, I meet Salvador."
Alex stiffened and turned to him, his expression dark. "What are you talking about?"
Dario remained calm. He was the leader of Salvador’s men, but as soon as Alex arrived, he was never allowed to make a suggestion.
This was not something any CEO could do except he was specially trained for it.
"We are on the same team, and it’s not as if I’m going to tell on you. From what I know, Alex is just a CEO, so how could you be so skillful? You literally took control of everything only experts could handle, and every instruction you gave was the best," he explained. Alex realized how he had acted on impulse, but there was a bomb, and lives would have been lost.
In that case, he could not care about being exposed. Those who deserved to die had been gunned down, and thanks to the bomb, their identities might not even be known.
Dario explained it further. "It makes me understand how you know every detail of the Kings and why you care so much about them. Also, you use your best friend to do most of the delicate communications."
Dario was honored to finally meet Salvador, though surprised he was a CEO. How the hell did he become a dangerous mafia don and also the CEO of Salvador’s men?
Well, that was a question for another day, not forgetting the fact that Alex had even pretended to be a cripple before.
His boss’s secret identities were quite scary, but Dario was glad to be on the side of the best.
Indeed, the reason they chose Dario was that he was smart, and as such, Alex did not dare to insult his intelligence by denying it.
"If word..." Alex was about to issue a warning when Dario shook his head. "I’m not stupid, and I see why you were so upset about Beauty. She’s your sister-in-law, so what do we do now? Should I return her?"
He was afraid now that the loose ends had been tied. Nancy was dearer to Alex’s heart than Dario imagined, so as much as he hated it, she had to be returned if Alex gave the order.
"She doesn’t want to return, so just continue training her, but she shouldn’t know who I am," Alex warned. Unfortunately for him, Dario had such a deep bond with Nancy, whom he now saw as his only daughter.
"You would have to kill me, Salvador..." he was saying when Alex cut in.
"Call me Alex." He was still undercover, and the fact that Dario knew did not mean anyone else should.
"You are right, but you will have to kill me, Alex. I don’t hide anything from Beauty, but trust me, I’m her best friend, and she would tell no one."
Clearly, Nancy is going to have her dream of knowing who Salvador was, including knowing that he was her brother-in-law and that her sister and mother were all alive.
"You will take the blame if anything goes wrong," Alex warned seriously. If he could not stop Dario from spilling the beans, the latter would have to take responsibility for his actions.
"Agreed, but I guess you know who is behind all this, right?" Dario asked, wondering how Alex was going to handle it.
This was his first time working with Alex, and it was because the victim was Joan, Alex’s wife.
For her, he did not care if his secret identity was revealed, as long as she was fine. Dario discerned the depth of Alex’s love for his wife.
"Yeah, Logan. I will handle it," Alex said with a cold expression.
Dario did not counter, since the culprit was Alex’s brother. As soon as they parted ways, Alex and Aiden left with the chopper to where they could get a car.
Afterward, they went straight to Logan’s house, but he wasn’t there. Only a note remained. As Alex read the note, his expression grew darker and darker.
Chapter 163: Chapter 163 - I Want to Know Everything
’Fuck you, Alex, I hope you die in the fire, but even if you survive, you will never find me.’
The paper shrank in Alex’s fingers as he balled them around the note. Fury burned inside him, and Alex was certain that if he had found Logan, he would not have shown mercy this time.
His brotherly love and mercy as the head of the family ran out the moment Logan put not only his life but also Joanna’s at risk.
If Alex had delayed even a bit, so many lives would have been lost because of what? One person thinking he deserves everything?
"He escaped?" Aiden remarked, having read the note before Alex crumpled it. The latter frowned deeply.
"I’m going to hunt him down for all the lives he put at risk, and Don Lucas’s family must pay too."
"Let me handle it. You have a family. Go take care of your wife," Aiden implored, but Alex shook his head.
This was enough reason for him to let Joanna go and never think of getting married again, not even to please Dion.
For the safety of his loved ones, staying single would be the best thing to do because Joanna would continuously be endangered if they continued living together.
Instantly, he wanted to know Joanna’s whereabouts and checked his pockets for his phone, not finding it. "I think I lost my phone. Can you reach Joan?" he asked Aiden, the latter chuckled.
"You never gave me her number, but don’t worry. I’d rather break my principle and call Violet."
He was not a fool to not piece together the reason Alex never gave him Joanna’s number. He could get it if he wanted, but all along, he knew how possessive his best friend was.
As such, his wife was out of reach even to his best friend. Paid bodyguards were exceptions because their relationships were always professional.
Aiden dialed Violet’s number, and she answered surprisingly on the first ring. "Aiden?"
"Violet, where are you?" Aiden asked, holding back from checking specifically on her. Yet, Violet broke down at the sound of his voice, thinking he was calling because of the fire.
With the news having spread out, Violet knew that Aiden was already aware of it.
"Alex, he died in the fire, and we are still there."
Guilt surged through Aiden for not checking on Joanna earlier, having forgotten that Joanna was just as much in love with Alex as Alex was with her, though Alex never admitted it, actions spoke louder than words.
"Get Joan home and don’t tell anyone, but Alex is fine," Aiden said directly. There was so much he wanted to tell her, but the lines had been drawn, and nothing could ever happen between them.
Violet was about to respond when the call ended. Sorrow filled her heart, but Joanna’s excitement upon hearing the news resonated her joy.
"I need to go home then," Alex said seriously after Aiden ended the call, adding, "But I want to know everything about Don Lucas’s family and any traces of Logan. One bad nut must be removed to keep the others safe."
Alex was no longer going to show mercy if he found Logan. It was time for the idiot to face the deserved consequences of his actions.
"Just like your father?" Aiden asked. Alex stiffened but felt no guilt for eliminating his father. Similarly, he would not feel guilty for eliminating his brother.
"Yeah, just like him."
By the time Alex reached home, Joanna was there, and the way she embraced him caused something to awaken inside him.
Her words before he left, expressing how much she loved him, flooded his mind. But with Logan still in the shadows, it was better to divorce and even announce it to keep her safe.
For as long as there was no connection between them, she would never be a target for the enemy.
"Alex, I thought I lost you," Joanna embraced Alex affectionately, and pulling away, she kissed him on the lips with the help of her high heels.
Alex was taller and afraid he might not kiss her back because of having been so long with the woman he wanted to marry. Joanna did not want to miss the opportunity but was filled with warmth when Alex returned her kisses with the same enthusiasm as hers.
He missed her, and for a moment, he feared losing her when he saw the gun pointed at her.
"You can’t get rid of me easily," Alex chuckled after pulling away from the kiss. Violet was slightly disappointed to not have seen Aiden. Nevertheless, she couldn’t ask about him.
"I knew you’ll make it, Alex. Thank God you are back," she exclaimed. Alex smiled at her and patted her on the shoulder before he and Joanna went upstairs.
Violet already had a room in their mansion and rested there for the night.
For the remaining days, Joanna spent a few days at the hospital with her father, and Mia was transferred to join him after the surgery to make it easier for Joanna to see them whenever she wanted. But throughout Cole and Mia’s stay at the hospital, Rene never showed up.
Monica visited once, but that was it. After the father and daughter were discharged, Alex gave them a small house with security as compensation for being caught in the feud between him and his brother, though he didn’t tell them the reason.
Things stabilized, but Alex felt the need to reach Logan first before he strikes again. Dario and Aiden tracked down Don Lucas’s family and eliminated all of them, and as Joan got home from work, an unexpected surprise awaited her.
"Alex, what’s going on?" She asked, shivering slightly because of the candlelit dinner. Was Alex reconsidering the divorce? It was exactly six months after they got married anyway.
Joanna had mixed feelings, especially when Alex’s expression was sorrowful, in contrast to the amazing candlelit dinner he arranged for them. His words confirmed his exact intentions.
Chapter 164: Chapter 164 – Try Me
"I thought I’d have dinner with my wife for the last time," Alex rose to his feet and said, pulling out a chair for Joanna.
Last time? Joanna’s heart sank, and tears stung the corners of her eyes, yet she held them back. After all they had been through together, Alex was still going ahead with the divorce.
She couldn’t explain how it happened, but somewhere along the line, her heart became entangled in this game of love, and she fell in love with a man she shouldn’t have.
"Can we negotiate? Can’t we just be together?" Her pleading voice broke Alex’s heart, but with all that was going on, he had to put her safety before everything. Then again, Dion’s savior was also there.
The dangers around him were just too much. "I’m sorry, no. Here is the divorce agreement."
Despite the candlelit dinner, Alex pushed the divorce papers in front of her.
Joanna’s heart was heavy with pain, but if this was what Alex wanted, there was nothing she could do about it. After all, he already had someone, and she was just standing in his way.
Without reading the document, she signed it. "Can I have my ring back?" She removed the expensive ring Alex bought her and dropped it on the table.
Both rings were family heirlooms, and for some reason, Alex was not ready to part with the one Joanna gave him because it was from her.
That was when he realized it was the only thing she ever gave him aside from her heart but was also her most priceless treasure.
"No, you can’t have that ring back, but you can keep this one." He pushed the wedding ring back towards her before pointing out some clauses in the divorce agreement.
"You didn’t read the agreement, so I will spell it out to you." Everything he needed was right there in front of him.
"Here is an unlimited black card, and this is another with a total of five hundred million. There are two villas for you at Long Island, and you can pick three cars from my fleet."
A tear dropped from Joanna’s eyes before she could stop it. Alex was being generous to her, but it wasn’t enough to compensate for what she felt for him.
She wanted none of this but only his heart. "Thanks, but I don’t need all this. My business is doing well."
Alex smiled, her reaction was expected. From the beginning, she had even been the one to propose paying him. "I know, but this is still yours." He pushed everything towards her.
The bodyguards were already informed, and Jack was there to take Joanna wherever she wanted.
Alex hoped that she would leave New York altogether, but a greater part of everything still depended on her.
"I proposed the contract, and we both benefited. No need to pay me," Joanna said seriously, and Alex felt helpless.
Since she refused to take the alimony, perhaps he might just invest it in her company but thought to ask her. "Can we still have dinner together? Like a normal couple?"
It was a selfish thing to ask, and he wasn’t expecting her to oblige.
"Sure, I’m famished," Joanna forced a smile as she stared at him, not believing this was the last time she was going to see his handsome face.
Everything was set in stone from the beginning, and Alex kept his word, so she had nothing against him.
Alex could also not take his eyes off her, trying to take in her image for the last time.
He picked up the cutlery before her hand reached it and spoke as he fed her. "I will try my best to keep the media off everything. You can stay and manage your company if you want, or you can always have someone else manage it if you want to leave entirely."
Joanna was only thinking about how to break the news to her mother since the elderly woman had developed a special liking for Alex.
"If I have to leave, then I have to take my mom with me, but I don’t know how she’s going to take this."
Alex was feeling extremely guilty at this moment. "I’m very sorry, but can you let me handle it? I will tell her that things didn’t quite work out between us. Her domestic workers would still be on my payroll."
Joanna wiped another tear from her eyes, but the next moment, she picked up a glass of red wine and gulped it down.
Alex could tell that he was hurting, but also knew it was better not to comfort her. The pain would not last forever, and no matter what, they both had to face it.
Joanna was tempted to accept the offer because for as long as Alex’s employees remained, her mother might not have a hint of the divorce, and since Alex promised to keep it away from the media, her mother might also not hear of it.
"Thank you, but let me think about what to do with my mother. She has been here for long, so now that she’s in good health, perhaps she might want a tour around the world.
Yeah, the only way to get over Alex would be to tour the world. New places might just help her get over Alex, but who was there to trust with her company?
"Can you recommend anyone for a CEO position?" Joanna asked, and Alex felt bitter. Joanna was going away, but looking at it both ways, it was the best.
"Yeah, I can send Jeffrey back to you."
At least he knew Jeffrey had Joanna’s interest at heart and would manage the company well since Mia and her father were now changed people.
It still did not qualify them to return to the company. "Thank you for everything, Alex." Joanna’s voice was shaky from tears, so she picked up Alex’s glass of wine and gulped it down.
"Is there anything else you want?" Alex asked with concern, and Joanna forced a smile. What a way to divorce? All she wanted was his heart, and she knew she would never have it.
"Trust me, you can’t afford it," she replied with a forced smile, but Alex was willing to give her anything, except for marriage.
"Try me," he dared her, but after hearing the request, he was dumbfounded.
Chapter 165: Chapter 165 - It’s my loss for falling in love with...
"Make love to me, just once," Joanna held Alex’s gaze and said, noticing the stunned expression on his face.
Joanna knew she couldn’t have Alex, but her inner turmoil wouldn’t let her give up on him.
She desired to have a part of him, hoping to conceive from that one night, but she doubted Alex would agree to it.
His expression was disappointing, showing no sign of granting her wish, which made her lose hope.
"I told you, you couldn’t afford it." She poured another glass of wine and raised it to her lips, but she couldn’t bring herself to drink it.
With a bitter smile, she started heading upstairs to pack her bags, unaware that Alex had already had the maids do it for her when he spoke from behind.
"Are you sure you want this?"
Joanna was startled as she hadn’t heard his footsteps and turned to face him.
Hope shone in her eyes as she reminisced about the times they had shared a bed, even though Alex had been absent most of the time.
She endured the intense desires she felt for him, yearning for him to satisfy her needs and to secretly have his child. She was willing to raise the child as her own without anyone knowing, not even Alex.
"More than anything, it’s my loss for falling in love with a man I shouldn’t have. But if you ever felt anything for me, I hope you won’t deny my request," she expressed, her words touching Alex deeply as he realized he had also fallen in love with her.
Her innocent yet seductive face was irresistible to him, and he hesitated, his fingers caressing her cheek as his thumb rested on her lips.
"You failed the first time and fell in love with me. Are you sure you won’t regret this? It’s not too late to stop," he warned.
Joanna shook her head eagerly, standing on the staircase in her high heels, bringing her face close to his as they shared a moment of intense connection.
"No, what I would regret is not telling you," Joanna said seriously. Alex swallowed tightly as his hand wrapped around her waist.
"If that would make you happy, then I will do it." His lips almost met hers when Joanna pulled away, excitement filling her. This was going to be their first and last time, so she wanted to make it worthwhile.
"Okay, let me shower first," Joanna said and ran to his room. Alex didn’t see anything wrong because the divorce was still not finalized. They would have to dissolve it in court after a few weeks.
Reaching his room, Joanna was already in the shower, and after a little hesitation, he joined her.
This was the first time they saw each other completely naked and showered together.
Alex felt things he had never felt before in his life, and the desire to have a taste of her was strong.
He wondered why he had never felt this way before, but then it occurred to him that it might have been due to his desire to keep everything professional.
The attraction had been there for a long time, but they had both managed to subdue it.
Joanna was nervous when she saw Alex’s hard erection the moment their eyes met. His muscular body looked hot, and her cheeks burned at the sight of him.
Fortunately, she was not going to burn from desire but rather get the satisfaction she always wanted.
"As soon as Alex’s body pressed against Joanna’s in the warm shower, she felt a surge of desire between her thighs. Their lips met, and everything changed.
Alex’s passionate kisses were irresistible, and Joanna welcomed him with intense desire.
His fingers caressed her skin possessively, as if he had been longing for this moment his whole life, their bodies entwined in a sensuous embrace.
Joanna cried out in pleasure as Alex kissed her neck, the shower cascading over them. He lifted her and pressed her against the bathroom wall tiles, her legs wrapped around his slippery body.
She felt a sharp pain as something forced its way into her core, breaking through her walls.
A scream escaped Joanna’s throat, tears mixing with the water from the shower. Alex stopped abruptly, noticing the red liquid being washed away.
"You’re a virgin?" he asked, pulling out of her, concern in his eyes.
Joanna had dated Colton in the past, and Alex had assumed something had happened between them. But with Joanna’s memories missing, there was no way to be certain.
"It hurts, Alex. I’m sorry," she said, tears streaming down her face as she held onto him. If he had known it was her first time, he would never have gone through with it.
Both Joanna and Alex had their own pasts, but in that moment, her innocence was clear to him. The demand for sex had clouded his judgment, but now he understood.
"I should have been gentler," he muttered as he turned off the faucet, while Joanna looked at him with pleading eyes. Despite carrying her, he showed no signs of fatigue on his face.
"You’re not going to stop, are you?" she asked anxiously. Alex gazed at her, noticing her shivering, and wrapped her in a towel robe before leading her out of the shower.
Gently placing her on the bed, he hovered over her. "We’ve come too far. Unless you want me to stop, I will fulfill your wish."
Although Joanna couldn’t forget the pain, she yearned for this moment. His erection was thick and hard, but she believed her small cunt could handle it.
"Please, I want to do it," she said earnestly. Alex smiled at her, their lips meeting again, this time with a softer and more passionate touch. Joanna found herself climaxing twice before his firm member penetrated her, causing discomfort but not as intense as the first time.
He was more tender, easing the pain and giving her the pleasure, she craved. Each of Alex’s thrusts elicited moans, and after what felt like hours of multiple rounds, he finally collapsed on top of her.
"Joan, please don’t leave. Let’s stay married, okay?" He felt the need to take responsibility for his actions, especially since he hadn’t used any protection.
Pregnancy was a possibility, and he was determined to reveal his hidden identity to her and face the challenges together. Dion might resent him, but he couldn’t let Joan go after what had transpired that night.
However, Joanna was too exhausted. She wanted to ask him to stop along the way, but since she had consented, she couldn’t, and her body had succumbed to sleep.
She heard nothing, and by the time Alex woke up to the ringing of his phone the next morning, his wife was gone.
"Alex, did you divorce your wife? I’m very disappointed," Grandpa’s voice echoed at the end of the line.
