Ch. 186..190: OMG My Crippled Husband is a Hot Powerful CEO Chapter 186-190
Chapter 186: Chapter 186 - I have loved you for so long
Joanna’s eyes sparkled with shock. "Asia? For what? And don’t you have work?"
She couldn’t help but fear that something worse was going to happen to her, all because of how Nancy and her father were killed.
"You want to get rid of me," she said, fear evident in her eyes, causing Alex’s heart to sink.
"Your perception of me is very twisted. I have never killed an innocent person."
Joanna wanted desperately to believe him but still found herself doubting his words.
"What about Nancy’s father? Enzo?" Pain filled her eyes as she asked, and Alex decided to tell her the truth.
"Enzo was wrongly killed by his best friend, who was also in love with your mother. But because they both worked for me, I take responsibility. However, Nancy is alive, but trust me, she doesn’t want to be with you."
"You are lying to me." Pain was evident in Joanna’s eyes, feeling that Alex was taking her for granted by lying to her.
"You keep accusing me, but what if you find out later that everything I said is true? How would you make it up to me, huh?"
She didn’t realize when he closed in on her, their gazes locking.
Joanna was nervous but couldn’t shake off his question. What if the media had gotten it wrong, and everything Alex said was true? Could Nancy really be alive and not want to be with her?
Taking the bet seemed like the best option. That way, she could get the divorce and also keep the baby if things turned sour.
"If everything you say is true, then I will be your obedient wife and forget the difficult moments of our marriage."
Alex’s arms wrapped around her waist as he pulled her closer. "You forgot to add that our bed would need to be continuously spiced up."
Joanna’s cheeks turned pink at his words, and she gently pushed him away. "And if you are lying to me, we would have to divorce, and I get to keep the baby."
Alex chuckled. "Well, since we are still married, how about one round before we leave for Asia? I have all the proof there, and that would give the crew enough time to prepare on the jet."
He kissed her passionately, reminiscing about that night. He was sure they would have gone for more rounds if he had woken up with her by his side.
"Alex," she wanted to refuse, but he interrupted. "We are still legally married, and you know that things have gone beyond a contract. I miss my wife, and yes, I haven’t forgotten your condition. I would be extremely gentle."
Joanna didn’t know how to refuse him when he was this vulnerable, and before she could speak, he added, "I love you so much, and I regret not taking advantage of our marital moments."
His lips pressed against hers, expecting her to push him away again, but he was surprised when she deepened the kiss. Alex was careful not to touch any of her incisions but caressed her body gently.
Despite everything, he knew she still loved him, but he was confused when she suddenly pulled away. As he stared at her with a puzzled expression, she pushed him onto the bed and removed her top, revealing her bra and knee-length skirt.
She looked so sexy, but he noticed the incision and grew worried. However, when she removed her hairpins, allowing her hair to cascade down and pulled down her skirt, Alex was stunned, instantly removing his shirt and pants, leaving him in his boxer shorts.
Joanna climbed on top of him, her movements captivating, as she tried to kiss him but suddenly stopped.
Alex guessed it was pain from her surgical wound and lifted himself to meet her halfway.
"I thought this position would be better to give me control, but..." Alex pressed his finger onto her lips.
"Just trust me."
Joanna nodded as he landed a kiss on her naked shoulder, sucking and eliciting a moan from her.
"Arhhh Alex, I hope you aren’t lying to me."
Alex chuckled and pushed her gently onto the bed, hovering over her and taking in her appearance.
"You are so beautiful, my Angel. I could stare at you all day and never go hungry."
A tear rolled down Joanna’s cheek as she tried to control her emotions. When she left over a month ago, she had no intention of returning, yet here she was in his arms again.
"Am I hurting you?" Alex asked worriedly. Joanna shook her head and smiled.
"I’ve loved you for so long, hoping you would love me too."
Alex was stunned by her words, happy to hear her profess her love for him once again.
Bending over, he supported himself with his elbows, ensuring that his body didn’t press against hers.
"It just took time for me to confess it to you, but I fell in love with you during our honeymoon. You captivated my heart from that moment, which is why I had to stay away to keep my vows to my sister. Joan, I would never hurt you."
The words he desired from her finally came out. "I know, I trust you."
Alex didn’t waste any more time before their lips met again, filled with desire. He kissed her incisions gently, apologizing over and over again for them.
"I’m sorry for not being there to protect you, but from now on, I will make sure no harm befalls you."
He removed her pants gently and smiled. "It’s so beautiful down here. I wish you could see it." Joanna facepalmed shyly as Alex kissed her labia.
"Mmmmm Alex, remember to be gentle," Joanna warned through moans, recalling their first time.
Alex got the message and entered her slowly; she felt no pain throughout the process. By the time they were done, they had both sunk into a deep sleep, but Alex was the first to wake up and began to dress her up.
Carrying her out of the room and meeting Violet downstairs, he informed her. "We shall be back in a few days."
Violet’s eyes widened, but she smiled. "Take all the time you want."
By the time Joanna woke up, she was in a familiar environment with Alex begging her to eat.
"Where are we?" She looked around nervously as Alex kissed the top of her head. "In our private jet. We still have eight hours to reach our destination."
Joanna remembered him speaking about taking her to Asia, and when they arrived, she was filled with joyful tears.
Chapter 187: Chapter 187 - Do you still want a divorce or...
"Daddy is back!"
Joanna was overwhelmed to see dozens of kids between the ages of two to ten swarming over Alex. The best thing was, they were calling him daddy.
When they arrived at the Manila airport, there was a driver waiting for them. Thinking they were going to lodge in a hotel or something, the driver drove to a big orphanage.
Joanna was amazed by how Alex knew the names of these kids by heart. It was clear they weren’t his biological children, but the affectionate way they related to each other spoke volumes.
"Edmund. I hope you are eating your veggies," he said to a boy around three years old. The latter nodded excitedly.
"Yes, Daddy, and I’ve been taking care of the little ones too," he replied. Joanna laughed. Edmund was so little, yet he was acting all responsible.
However, Joanna realized that this little boy shared the same name as Alex’s assistant, wondering if Alex named him and asked, "Does his name have anything to do with your personal assistant?"
Alex nodded, glad she could piece it together. "Everything about this boy is funded by my assistant. Aiden has his kids here as well as all my other men.
"I make it compulsory for every one of my staff to invest in a family in need."
Joanna was stunned. For as long as she knew, Salvador was heartless, so how could he do something like this?
"If you still don’t get it, most of these kids are victims. Some are children born to pregnant girls we rescued from drug lords or human traffickers. Some of them are victims of kidnaps, but we make sure they are orphans before keeping them here, unless they are willing to cut ties with their families and be declared dead wherever they hail from."
Joanna felt ashamed for not having trusted him all this while.
"Daddy, I learned to wear my pants correctly," another boy embraced Alex’s leg and reported. Alex ran his fingers through the boy’s hair.
"That is good. I brought some toys, but your tutors will give them to you later."
A little girl around the age of three embraced Alex. "Daddy, who is this woman? Is she our mommy?"
Alex stared lovingly at Joanna, not wanting to force it on her. "Yes, I’m your mommy," Joanna smiled and said, instinctively rubbing her stomach.
This was the most amazing thing she ever saw in her life. The orphanage was like no other, fully staffed and looking like a mansion.
The kids looked healthy and smart, meaning they were well taken care of, but who wouldn’t. The workers here were being paid by Salvador, so they dared not mess things up.
"Can you guess who is funding this little princess?" Alex asked. Joanna stared at him with a look of confusion as he revealed.
"Your sister, Nancy." This girl was rescued recently by Nancy. Her parents had been murdered by a don. Nancy was still undergoing training but was moved by so much pity that she insisted on funding this girl from her allowances."
A joyful tear rolled down Joanna’s cheek as Alex introduced the kids to her one after the other before the staff.
"Wait, wasn’t this boy reported missing last year? The media even reported that he was kidnapped by Salvatore’s men," Joanna recalled, pointing at a seven-year-old boy. Alex smiled and replied.
"You got that right, and his name is Alex."
Joanna embraced him without permission. "I want to fund some of them. How do I go about it?"
Alex walked her to the administrative block and had her register her name. "As soon as we get a new child, we shall contact you to make the donation," the manager revealed. Joanna was extremely excited.
They shared meals with the kids, and even though Alex hadn’t informed them before coming, everything was well organized, and the food tasted good and nutritious.
"This feels like heaven," Joanna commented when she saw the kids on the various types of swings. The playground was so large and beautiful.
"I forgot to mention that most of the tutors are victims as well, and some also sponsor other kids from their allowances."
Joanna felt like Alice in Wonderland. At first, she was upset with Violet for easily trusting Alex after finding out he was Salvatore, but it was just as Violet said. She had more experience with men and could tell the good from the bad.
This had completely changed her perception of Alex and what Salvatore and his men were all about. At one point, Alex was saddened when they reached the rehabilitation department.
"Over here, there are victims of all kinds of abuse. They are still undergoing treatment and aren’t allowed to mingle with the rest until their treatments are over."
Joanna understood his pain. Just as the children here considered him their father, Alex considered them his children as well.
His love for them shone in his eyes whenever he interacted with them, and during those times, his powerful aura was all gone, and all she saw was a loving father.
"Alex, may I ask, does Nancy work here too?"
"No," Alex shook his head. "Nancy lives with my second in command, Dario. You must have met him before the fire. He treats her like a daughter, and because she took an interest in joining Salvatore’s men, she can’t live a normal life like falling in love and having kids. It’s a sacrifice she chose to make to protect others," he explained. Joanna was not surprised.
Nancy always loved to help and defend the less privileged. It was great to see her walk the path.
"But can I see her just once?" She asked. Alex nodded. "I will make the arrangement after our return. There were guest rooms at the orphanage for them to lodge in, and though neat and comfortable, it couldn’t be compared to Alex’s luxurious life.
"This feels like a honeymoon. It’s the best thing that’s happened to me," Joanna said seriously. Alex smiled and asked her. "So, do you still want a divorce or...?
Chapter 188: Chapter 188 – Do you still not get it?
"Will you agree if I still want the divorce?" Joanna asked seriously in response to his question, but she was testing him.
Life with Alex had been a rollercoaster, but she could tell with all seriousness that she enjoyed every moment with him, good or bad.
How they stood for each other, and even their faked kisses felt real until she asked him to make love to her, which she thought would give her a child to remember him by.
However, Alex was saddened. As much as he loved and did not want the divorce anymore, especially after knowing she had been the one he kept looking for all this while, if she didn’t love him anymore, then how could he force her to stay? He nodded.
"At this point, I can’t force you to stay, but you just have to promise to keep everything I have told you a secret."
Things about Salvatore’s men were confidential, and showing her, he didn’t want the world to know, or his enemies would rather see it as a weakness.
The reason he was feared was that he was ruthless, and that was enough to stop some people from coming against him, but if this information goes out, then they would know about his softness, and who knows, this orphanage might just be another target.
Joanna was saddened by his response about how willing he was to let her go when she had decided to stay and asked, "and what about our baby?" Was he ready to part with the growing life inside her too?
Bitterness caused Alex to grit his teeth, but he relaxed and embraced her from the back as they stood on the balcony of their room at the orphanage, gazing at the ambiance.
Joanna wanted to have the image of it imprinted on her mind, as she had the intention of coming back again someday.
Being with Alex alone was amazing, but add these kids, and you are rendered speechless in a good way.
"Joan, do you want a broken home for our baby?" Alex’s fingers caressed her still flat stomach as he spoke.
If they felt nothing for each other, then single parenting would be the best, but in this case, Alex loved the woman in his arms, not wanting to let her go.
"Both of us fighting for custody?" He asked, completing the matter. "I don’t want a divorce, but neither can I force you to love me."
Joanna turned to face him, their gazes boring into each other. She understood that Alex took her question to mean she didn’t love him enough to stay, and that was not it, so she decided to be honest.
"Alex, I love you, and I don’t want a divorce. Will you forgive me for doubting you?" Tears clouded her eyes, and Alex was beyond excited as he lifted her by the hips, her legs wrapping around him.
He thought he was going to lose her, not expecting things to turn out this way.
Love could not be forced, so he would have let them go, and since they had a bond of a child between them, he was certain to have kept a healthy relationship for the sake of their unborn child, including never marrying any woman who was not her.
"Ever since we signed the marriage certificate, I feared for the day you’ll find out I’m Salvatore. This is a top secret we never share, and make the world think that this orphanage belongs to the government of the Philippines. This was my reason for not wanting to tell you and for all the lies."
He dropped her gently on the bed as Joanna cupped his face in the palm of her hands, her lips meeting his in a passionate kiss.
The two savored each other’s warmth before Alex pulled away. "You have to promise to never ask for a divorce again. We have to stand together no matter what."
He still had Logan to deal with, so how would he succeed if his wife doubted and wasn’t on his side, but Joanna scoffed, finding it hypocritical of him to talk like that.
"The last time I checked, the divorce documents were prepared and signed by you first," she pointed out, guilt shone in Alex’s eyes. "That would never happen again."
With the understanding settling in, nothing stopped Alex from making passionate love to his wife, and later that night, they set off back to New York.
"I’m going to miss Manila," Joanna cooed as she leaned against Alex’s shoulder, the latter cuddled her close to his chest and assured her,
"We can always come back whenever you want, and besides, you are ready to sponsor some kids too."
The reminder calmed Joanna. "You are right. This is going to also be my home from today onwards." As she reminisced over everything, a naughty idea popped into her mind, and she asked Alex,
"How many people have used this jet before?"
His eyes squinted, not understanding what she was driving at, but he responded truthfully. "It’s mine alone. Grandpa and Logan have theirs, and the only people I’ve had on board before are Aiden and Violet."
The answer satisfied her as she stared at the hostess who came to serve them wine and other delicacies.
"Can you tell her not to come here until we are done?" She pouted, Alex was unable to wipe the confusion from his face, but he was willing to do whatever it was to make her happy.
Calling the hostess, he instructed. "Make yourself scarce until needed."
She nodded with a smile, but as she turned around, Joanna called her back. "Please take these too."
The food was untouched, and Alex was worried. "You haven’t eaten yet," he reminded her, but seeing the determination in her eyes, he added his voice.
"Do as she says."
The hostess smiled and wheeled the food cart away, as Joanna smiled seductively, turning to face Alex with her hands caressing his chest. "Do you still not get it?"
Alex got it this time, laughed and pinched her playfully on the cheek. "You naughty Angel." His lips soon followed and for the first time, he made love in his private jet to his beautiful pregnant wife, but as they were about landing, he received disturbing news from grandpa.
Chapter 189: Chapter 189 – I won’t lie to you
Alex’s phone had been switched off throughout the trip, and it was only after the pilot announced he was preparing for landing that he took it off charge.
His hand accidentally touched the switch-on button, and a swarm of messages caused him to freeze, with the most disturbing one being from his grandpa.
’Alex, Edmund has been trying to reach you because of a cyber-attack.’
Alex switched the phone off, allowing the jet to land before he hurried out of it. When they reached the car, he considered ordering another one to take him to the office and having this one take Joanna to the mansion.
"Angel, there is an issue at the office, so I would have Ike take you home first," he said in a slightly hasty tone, but Joanna was reluctant.
After all their time spent together, she was getting spoiled by the day.
"Can’t I go with you to the office? It will be boring at home, and trust me, I will resume work as soon as possible so I don’t bother you again."
Alex wanted to remind Joanna about Violet being at home, but he quickly informed Ike, "Take us to the office."
After Ike stepped on the accelerator, Alex reminded Joanna, "Violet is at home because of you. Don’t you miss her?"
Joanna missed Violet, but after all she had learned about Alex on this trip, all she wanted was to be by his side to know him more.
"I miss her, but I want to be with you because you have a problem. Even if I can’t help, my presence should be enough to encourage you, right?"
Alex smiled. "Yes, you are right." He loved that she wanted to be with him through his hardest times.
As he switched on his phone and tried to gain access to the company server, he was denied and dialed Edmund’s number. The guy sounded like he was going to die from the stress.
"Sir, our IT team is battling a hacker trying to bully us, but he sent a virus a few minutes ago, and our servers are not looking good."
Alex thought carefully. Cyberbullies would always want something, so what did this one want?
Usually, it would be money, but as they tried to work things out, it would buy him enough time to hire the world’s best hacker to resolve this matter.
"Find out what he wants and let me know quickly. I’m on my way."
"What’s the problem?" Joanna asked softly. Alex pressed his hand to hers and forced a smile. He knew she cared.
"It’s a cyberbullying issue, but don’t worry. I will take care of it."
Joanna did not ask anymore, knowing how affected Alex was, though he decided to stay strong.
Alex barely arrived at the office with Joanna and was headed to the IT department when grandpa arrived.
"Grandpa, what are you doing here?"
Grandpa was about to answer before his gaze landed on Joanna. "Are you two divorced?"
His worried look disturbed the couple, but Joanna was the first to respond. "No, grandpa, I would never divorce Alex."
A sigh of relief escaped the old man as he broke heart-wrenching news. "Alex, I know you are trying to contact 3E, but you won’t get him. Logan already bought him over."
As the information sank in, Alex realized one thing. Logan was behind it all and he was using his last cent to bring down the Kings because he was not put in charge of it.
"This is Logan’s doing?"
Here Alex was, thinking that Logan would go the mafia way, and though he was right with that, Logan surprised him by using one hacker to attack this time from wherever he was.
"What does he want?"
Grandpa looked around helplessly as his gaze pinned on Joanna. "Can she excuse us, please?"
"No, grandpa, I’m not going anywhere. I’m also a part of this family," Joanna retorted, looking upset.
Whatever it was, she had to register her support, and Alex added, "She’s also pregnant."
Grandpa lowered himself to the chair beside Joanna from excitement, but the IT team was too focused on battling this hacker to eavesdrop.
"That is wonderful. Alex, you must never allow anything to happen to her, no matter what," Grandpa spoke seriously. Alex responded earnestly.
"Those who tried to hurt her are already dead." His expression was deadpan, and grandpa was slightly confused and asked him.
"Was Logan a part of them?"
He didn’t seem too worried about Logan this time, making it clear about how much he wouldn’t care if Logan died too, but sadly, Alex’s response was the opposite.
"We are trying to locate him, but it seems like an endless possibility."
"Then it’s true," grandpa murmured as he grabbed hold of Joanna’s hand. It was shaky, making Joanna worried.
"Grandpa, what’s the matter?" Both Joanna and Alex asked at the same time. Grandpa stared Alex in the eyes.
"When the person who contacted me said he was Logan, I thought it was a lie because I authorized you to kill him. Why didn’t you do it?" He looked upset.
Joanna was stunned that even grandpa wanted his grandson dead, but then she recalled that the Kings would always eliminate the bad nuts because of Salvadore’s rulership. She wondered if grandpa knew about who his grandson was.
Still, she was unable to ask the question because of what grandpa said next.
"Alex, Logan wants you to trade your wife for the company."
Alex looked like he was in a daze at the news. "Grandpa, tell me you are joking." His expression was cold, and his words chilly. Grandpa was at a loss.
"Alex, I won’t lie to you. Why do you think I would come here?" It wasn’t always that grandpa would visit without prior notice.
"Don’t worry. I will get the best hacker to fight this," Alex said absentmindedly. Grandpa knew that Logan’s request would not be considered by Alex but reminded him.
"Logan is using him to attack you. The best hacker is 3E."
Alex chuckled and responded. "You already know my answer to that." However, Joanna suddenly broke her silence.
Chapter 190: Chapter 190 - She’s tougher than you
"Alex, Logan cannot hurt me," Joanna said seriously. Alex’s expression darkened dangerously as the meaning of Joanna’s words sank in.
If she thought he was going to allow her to partake in this risky venture, then she would have to reconsider.
"You aren’t going anywhere." There was no room for negotiation because he would never put her through something like that, ever. "I will find a way."
He dialed Violet’s number, and as soon as the call connected, he asked her, "How much do you know about Logan?"
She was his ex-girlfriend, so if Logan wanted Joan, then he could want Violet too.
"Aside from the fact that he’s an asshole, what else are you expecting to hear?" Violet asked. Alex breathed deeply and exhaled.
"He sent a virus to crash the King’s multinational server and wants Joan. She’s pregnant and just underwent surgery. If you can make a swap, I promise to get you back as soon as possible," Alex said seriously, but Joan didn’t think it was fair.
"She’s my best friend, and he could harm her."
Alex knew that Violet was strong-willed. She wouldn’t go down without a fight, but Joanna wasn’t as tough. If his swap worked out, Violet could buy them enough time.
"She’s tougher than you, not pregnant, and doesn’t have surgical wounds. Please let me handle this."
Hearing Joanna’s concerned voice, Violet remembered all that she had been through and couldn’t allow something like this to traumatize her.
"I will do it," she agreed over the phone. Alex was glad and informed her, "Tell Jack to bring you to my office. I will call Aiden to inform him."
As soon as the call ended, he called Aiden on the phone, hearing the sound of laughter the moment the call connected. Dion was enjoying Aiden’s presence, but Alex was sorry to take him from her.
"Aiden, you have to return now. Meet me at the office."
Confusion clouded Aiden’s mind as he stared at the excited Dion. They were having a picnic in the garden with everything going so well before the sudden interruption.
"Is there a problem? I don’t mind staying longer, and Violet doesn’t mind too."
Alex was upset about how Aiden’s responses were not matching his urgency. The guy was just relaxed, so Alex had to exaggerate things.
"If you don’t get here, Violet would be in trouble."
He heard Aiden speaking at the end of the line, but it wasn’t to him. "Dion, your brother needs me, but I will be back before you know it."
Dion wasn’t happy and didn’t respond. "Alex, you better be serious about this because Dion isn’t happy."
Alex knew that Dion was protected because no one knew about her existence, except Colton and her sister, but they were also dead with that knowledge.
Violet arrived at Joanna’s office and immediately embraced Joanna. "Hey, I won’t let anything bad happen to you, okay?"
To her, Joanna would always be like a kid sister. Grandpa didn’t know her but was moved by her love for Joanna and asked Alex, "So how is this going to work?"
Alex informed him. "You are the only one who can contact Logan, so why don’t you do so?"
Grandpa dialed the number he received the messages on, but it was unavailable.
"Please text and inform him that Violet wants to see him."
Grandpa did as told, and there was an immediate response. ’It’s not her turn yet. I want whatever Alex wants, and that is Joan.’
When grandpa showed the message to Alex and the team, Violet was slightly nervous. It meant that Logan had something planned for her as well and was just beginning with Joan.
"Let me respond to him myself," Violet volunteered. Grandpa allowed them to do whatever they wanted as Violet texted back on grandpa’s phone.
’Logan, this is Violet. I just want to know for how long you want to do this? I guess you are scared of me to request for Joan. Take me instead.’
A response was received within seconds. ’I would have accepted your offer, but Joanna is the one Alex loves.’
’You are wrong. I’ve been with them for a few days, and they’ve been discussing divorce because of me. The marriage was just a contract, and you won’t get back at Alex with her. But guess what, I had a drunken night with Alex, and I’m pregnant for him. So which of us would benefit you most?’
Everyone was shocked when they read Violet’s message, but knew it wasn’t true. Alex would never cheat on his wife even when drunk. This time, there was no response.
"What if he agrees? You aren’t pregnant," Joanna warned. Violet thought carefully.
"We have to think of something. In the hospitals, my name could be put on all your hospital records," Violet was saying when the phone beeped.
’Colton informed me when Joan was brought to the hospital in Miami. I can’t reach him now, but I know Joanna is the pregnant one. Violet, you can’t fool me. You chose to leave me even when I chose you over her. If Alex hadn’t come into the picture, I would have thought you were lesbians. But guess what, Joan is the loved one and the one I want.’
It was too late to make the switch, and Alex was tempted to rip the phone apart.
"How dare him? Alex raged. I will kill him, but grandpa, let him destroy the server. I would build the King’s multinational again from scratch," he vowed.
Grandpa didn’t doubt him. From the level Alex had brought this company, he was indeed capable of starting over, but Joanna stopped him.
"Alex, let me go, but just make sure to rescue me on time."
"That would never happen," Alex instantly countered. Joanna stood up and embraced him. "I love you, and I believe you can rescue me before it’s too late."
Alex held her tightly to his chest. "I love you too, but Logan has gone mad. What if he tries to force himself on you to get back at me?"
He preferred building the company from scratch than to allow Logan to have his wife, but Joanna gave him a response that changed everything.
