Ch. 286..290: Powerful Papa with Triplet Babies Chapter 286-290
Chapter 286
"I've been watching you since you got pregnant and I knew that I'd been exposed as soon as I found out that
you were coming to the hospital." Michelle turned to Anthony. "Anthony, there's a reason that I did this. She got
pregnant with your child and tried to get rid of it in secret. I didn't think she should so I bribed the doctor to
pretend that they terminated the pregnancy. I did what I did to keep Anthony's child. If I was wrong for doing
so, please punish me and I won't say a word."
Anne was rendered speechless by Michelle's speech; which pointed a blaming finger to Anne herself instead
and Michelle appeared to be the saint of the story according to her.
The door was opened once again and Bianca walked in. She glanced around the room and walked over to
Anthony in confusion. "What's wrong? What happened?"
"What else? It's about Anne's failed abortion in this hospital! I admitted that I was the one who bribed the
doctor," Michelle confessed honestly.
"What?" Bianca exclaimed in shock. "Why would you do that?"
"To keep Anthony's child, of course." Michelle turned to look at Anne once again. "I didn't like what a hypocrite
you were, but I've never imagined that you would be so merciless to your own child. No matter what I tried, the
child did not survive in the end and I guess you got what you wanted from the start."
"Did you take that kick from Anthony for Sarah on purpose so that Anthony would feel guilty?" Bianca
questioned as though she had just thought of such a possibility. She did not need to elaborate any further for
the others to understand what she was implying.
Anthony's eagle-like eyes instantly locked onto Anne.
Anne paled. "It's not like that! You have to at least be logical if you want to frame me! I didn't even know I was still pregnant at the time!"
"You are the only one who knows if you were really unaware," Bianca said gently while pretending to be an innocent bystander who didn't know anything.
"If I was the one who did everything, why would I come here to seek the truth?" Anne retorted.
"I guess you were trying to frame someone?" Bianca said with uncertainty while she accused Anne of something that she could not argue.
"I knew that you resented me. Don't worry, I won't give you the chance to accuse me of anything I didn't do!" Michelle added.
Anne was almost impressed by how perfectly the two women were working together. "You two must have talked this through in private, haven't you? Let me guess why Michelle would be willing to be the scapegoat here. Bianca offered jobs in the entertainment business for you, didn't she?"
Bianca's eyes darted away guiltily.
Michelle immediately denied it. "Anne, you still won't give up trying to talk your way out of this!"
"Really? So it's just a coincidence that you started being active on social media again as soon as you reported me to Anthony last time?" Anne scanned the two coldly. "I guess you probably won't admit to it, though."
Michelle faked exasperation, when in truth, she did not know how to argue with Anne's point.
Anthony looked away from Anne and stood up. "Oliver, handle this, ii
"Yes, sir."
Anthony and Bianca left after that, and Michelle smiled smugly thinking that Anne was the one who would be
punished.
Anne felt nauseated when she stepped out of the hospital. She had only come here to find the truth and the
person who had been pulling the strings in the dark, but had ended up in such a difficult position.
'What have I done wrong to deserve being humiliated like that?' She thought, tears scrolling down her face as
she stared at the stream of cars in front of the hospital.
•
A car stopped before her and Oliver came outside to open the car door for her. "Ms. Vallois, I'll send you
home."
She glared at him and paled. "Keep your pretenses for someone else." .
"Don't deny a helping hand. Beedes, I am just doing this at Mr. Marwood's command," Oliver said.
Exhausted, every single cell within her was whispering to her how all effort of trying to fight back was in vain.
Chapter 287
Oliver immediately started driving once she got into the car. He glanced at the rear-viewing minor and saw the
depressed expression on Anne's face.
"Mr. Marwood will get to the bottom of this," Oliver said.
"I imagine that Bianca would have nothing to do with this by the lime he's done." Anne stared outside the window. She
had not expected to get anything out of this from the moment she stepped out of the hospital.
"You are different to Mr. Marwood," Oliver said.
"Your consolation only makes me feel worse," she said with a cold look on her face. "Don't speak for him. I know just
what kind of a man he is, better than anyone else."
When Anne arrived home, she collapsed onto the couch and felt as though she had reached her limit both physically
and mentally.
She remained in a horrible mood until Sarah came to visit.
"Why do you look worse? Did you even rest?" Sarah asked.
"I was watching television," Anne said.
"You were watching television, instead of resting? I told you it's bad to live on your own and you refused to listen."
"I'll stop."
Sarah continued to lecture Anne and she listened half-heartedly. Sarah was still trying to convince Anne to stay with her, but failed again in the end.
After Sarah left, Anne wanted to see the children, but was worried that she might scare them in her current state, so she laid down on
the couch to take a nap, only to be woken by the sound of the door opening.
A shadow loomed over her slim frame and the tension in the air rose. She instinctively tensed at the familiar yet frightful presence like a prey before its predator.
She moved backward and glared at the man before her warily like she was facing a demon. "...What are you doing here?" She questioned with a trembling voice.
"Can't you go to sleep on the bed?"
"Have you come here to inform me that you've investigated the incident?" She questioned as though she had not heard
him at all. He tried to get closer and she jumped away. "Don't touch me!"
She hurried off the couch and watched him from afar like a frightened animal.
He scowled and stared at her sharply. "The doctor said he never saw the person who bribed him and had only spoken
to her on the phone."
She glared at him with amusement and retorted sarcastically, "Do you really think that your pianist goddess is as
innocent as you thought before? Or do you think that I've made everything up by myself?"
"Michelle has admitted that she was the one pulling the strings, so she will pay for it."
For a man as sharp and alert as Anthony, Anne knew that it was impossible for him to be unaware of what was truly
happening.
Chapter 288
Anthony would simply neglect the (acts and stop the investigation to avoid hurting the woman he loved, and if his
plaything was to get hurt in the process, so be it.
Feeling miserable and exhausted, Anne was in despair. She lowered her head sorrowfully. ’’Just go. I want nothing to
do with you and I want you to stop coining here. You are not welcomed here."
His expression darkened as he darted forward to grab her by the arm.
"Stop.Jet me go! Don't touch me! You disgust me..."
He dragged her into the room and tossed her onto bed, before pinning her down with his weight.
"Disgusted?" He grabbed her by the chin and pressed his lips against hers forcefully.
"Umph!" She could not believe that he would insist on insulting her in such a manner despite what had happened.
He did not let her go until she was at the brink of suffocation. Anne gasped for air and her face was flushing a crimson
shade from the lack of oxygen.
He tilted her face up and said, "I can kiss you until you are not disgusted!"
She met his eyes coldly. "Am I not damaged enough? Will you ever be satisfied? I will tell you this, my mother and I are inseparable, so just how far are you going to take this?"
He tightened his fingers around her jaw viciously. "Why would you get involved? Nothing would have happened to you if you didn t
help her. You brought this onto yourself!"
She shoved his hand away angrily. "Fine. I brought this on my own, okay? Can you just leave now? I’m tired."
He stared at her as she buried her pale face into the pillow, before getting upto leave.
Tears scrolled down her cheeks when she heard the door closing.
I guess I did bring this onto myself,* she thought to herself, why would I expect that demon to know sympathy at all?’
After crying her heart out, she adjusted herself and headed to the sixth floor. She needed to heal her broken heart by at least seeing the children. They were her only hope and she would not let anyone take them away.
As she laid on the bed that night next to her adorable children, she summoned the courage to leave everything behind.
She decided to leave Luton and move to another city.
'I can't stay here anymore. I need to leave. I'll leave first and call Tommy to tell him about it afterward,' she thought.
She could give him some excuse to get Tommy to keep the children a secret, and as for the others, she could always see them again since she was not leaving the country.
'But what do I do with my passport? Do I apply for a temporary one?' She thought.
In the morning, she rested in the fifth floor apartment and researched other cities as she tried to decide which city to go to.
Anthony had ordered her to leave Luton and she realized that she should not have stayed because she would never truly be free if she's in the same city as him.
Sarah would come every day to keep Anne company during meals
and leave afterward, but Anne did not inform Sarah that she was leaving because the knew Sarah would not agree to
it.
Anne decided that It was best that she Informed Sarah after leaving. However, she knew that she would at least have
to notify Lucas.
She had agreed to go for dinner with him when he came back, and in the end, she decided to wait for him to come
home.
At night, Anne was playing with the children when she heard someone knocking on the door, so she instinctively
went to check her phone and was relieved that it was not Anthony.
"I'll open the door!" Charlie hurried over and tip loed to try and reach the doorknob, only Io fail miserably.
Anne chuckled and walked over to open the door. She paused when she saw the man standing outside the door and
muttered, "Mr. Newman?"
She could tell that Lucas had hurried here as soon as his flight landed and his smile was as gentle as always when
he looked at Anne.
"Daddy!"
The triplets spotted Lucas and hurried towards him cheerfully, before hanging onto him like sloths.
Chapter 289
Lucas wrapped his arm around the three of them. "Have you missed me?"
"We have!"
"Here are your gifts," Lucas said as the driver behind him brought bags of souvenirs into the living room.
The triplets cheered and ran over.
"Why did you come home so early? Is everything settled?" Anne asked.
"Yeah, nothing of import left to deal with," Lucas said. "I should have told you, but I wanted to surprise you."
She chuckled, "Consider me surprised. Is Tommy back as well?"
"No. He is the boss, so he won't oe back so soon." He studied her face and asked, "are you ill? You don't look so well."
She touched her face and said, "Really? I don't feel anything."
Her body had been traumatized only five days ago, so she wouldn't be able to recover so soon after the surgery.
"Have you eaten? Why don't I cook something for you?" She changed the subject.
"I ate on the plane, so I'rn good. I'll stay for a while and go home later."
Charlie received a beautiful toy knife, Chloe received a limited- edition doll, while Chris was given a laptop for children.
Their eyes lit up in joy. "Thank you, Daddy!"
Anne was shocked. "The gifts you bought are too expensive!"
"It's alright as long as the kids like it." Lucas did not seem to mind.
Anne walked him down when he left and when they reached the fifth floor, he said, "Il's fine. Go home and rest."
She did not insist. "Okay Why don't you come by for dinner tomorrow? I will prepare something."
Lucas pulled out a black velvet box out of thin air.
"What's that?"
"The kids got their gifts. Even the nanny received something, so why wouldn't you have a gift of your own?" He chuckled gently.
•
Anne accepted the box and opened it to find a gold necklace inside, it was not something of a luxury brand, but she knew that it must have been expensive as well. Anne knew that Lucas must have considered for a long time before settling on this necklace and refusing it would be Hide.
"Thank you," she said.
Lucas held back on the urge to wrap his arms around her. At the moment, he felt like he was finally breathing. He had always been careful, so he had never imagined that he would be like an excited teen in front of the woman he liked.
"Rest well," he said, before turning to leave.
Anne wanted to say something else, but held back and watched as he disappeared into the distance.
Lucas had just returned home, so she decided to wait until tomorrow.
The next day, instead of eating at home, Lucas had suggested that they dine at a clubhouse in the outskirts which was
more private, so that they could take the children and the nanny with them.
Naturally, Anne had no problem with the suggestion. Though she
had offered to cook for him, It had been a while since she last cooked a projirr meal and she was not sure If she could
manage, on ’ the other hand, she could tell that Lucas simply wanted her to relax.
The clubhouse was located In the outskirts In a quiet area and Liras told them that everyone who wanted to dine there
would need to make a reservation ahead of time.
There was no lobby and only rooms.
The menu was tailor made for everyone and the only limit was one's imagination.
The price was comparatively cheaper than restaurants in the city, costing only one third of the price of the food one
would find in the city.
The triplets were overjoyed as they rarely had the chance to dine outside.
Charlie waved his new toy knife around inside the room and Anne stopped him. "Why did you bring your knife outside?
Don't come crying if you lose it." "I brought it to protect you guys!" Charlie said fiercely, and the others burst into
laughter.
