Ch. 366..370: Powerful Papa with Triplet Babies Chapter 366-370

Chapter 366

His last words sounded extremely strange, and anyone who was not a fool could tell that Elder Marwood was about to harm Sarah.

Anthony walked up to Ron.

Terrified by Anthony‘s presence, Ron paled and backed away. “Anthony, I am your father. What are you trying to do? Ah!”

He missed a step by accident and fell down the stairs awkwardly.

Anthony stood above the stairs and looked down at him before saying in an emotionless voice, “Get the words out: Elder Marwood is critically ill. As for you, you will be in mourning once Elder Marwood passes away!” He then turned to leave, followed by his team of bodyguards.

Ron sat on the ground with chills running down his spine; he felt glad Elder Marwood was healthy enough and would not perish any time soon.

Anne spared Ron no mind and went to help untie Sarah hurriedly. “Are you okay? Are you hurt?

“I‘m fine. How‘s your arm?”

“It‘s fine.”

Once Sarah‘s hands were freed, she grabbed Anne by the arm. “What do you mean, fine? There‘s blood all over your clothes.”

Anne lifted her sleeve and saw a large cut on her arm. “It‘s better than the knife cut last time. I probably won‘t even need stitches. Let‘s go.” “Hang on.” Sarah walked over to Ron and said in contempt, “We used to be a couple, Ron. I didn‘t think you would be this vicious. Everything that‘s happening right now is all because of you!” She then pulled Anne with her and left.

On their way to the hospital, Sarah asked, “What did Anthony mean? Does it mea. that we are going to be fine now?”

“I guess.”

“Don‘t just guess! We have nothing to do with this. Elder Marwood was the one who killed Julie. We heard him!” Sarah paused to think, before continuing, “If Elder Marwood is ill, I think things are going to be hard on their family from now on.”

Anne felt like the burden on her chest had been taken off, like she was finally proven innocent after being accused of a crime she did not commit.

She wondered why it took so long for the truth to come out. Her life would not have been so miserable if only the truth had been discovered earlier.

What both Anne and Sarah expected was that Ron and Elder Marwood would be imprisoned indefinitely, but they had been too naive.

Within a day, Sarah called Anne and said, “Anne, Elder Marwood is dead!”

“What?” she exclaimed.

“They have only announced that he had fallen ill yesterday, and he is now dead. Isn‘t that too fast?” Sarah lowered her voice as though she was worried that someone was eavesdropping.” Say, do you think maybe he didn‘t die of natural causes?” Anne pursed her lips, knowing how strange Elder Marwood‘s death was. “Did... Did Anthony kill him? That‘s his grandfather, though. Could he be that ruthless?” Sarah felt chills down his spine as though she had been lucky to live despite having destroyed Anthony‘s family. Anne did not argue, as she had a hard time imagining the bounds of Anthony‘s ruthlessness as well.

She felt dazed from fear. How terrible could a man be to murder their own grandfather‘s life with ease?

“How did you find out?” Anne asked. “From the internet! Then I called some distant relatives in the Marwood Family, and they confirmed the news. They‘ve already cremated the body,” Sarah said. Anne stayed on the phone with Sarah while checking the news on the internet. As expected, news articles were released, stating that the pioneer of the Marwood Group fell terminally ill and had passed away earlier that day. The family was devastated, and countless people rushed to pay their respect at the funeral. There were pictures attached to the articles, and in one of the videos, Anne even spotted Anthony and Bianca for a moment.

Anthony appeared as cold and distant as he was in real life even through the camera.

The comments section had gone out of control after someone screenshotted Anthony’s face along with Bianca‘s.

Chapter 367 Anthony was born with an enticingly handsome look and towering figure; his majestic aura completely took the attention away from Bianca.

Everyone in the comment section was asking about him and wondering how he was better looking than the idols.

A group of women banded together to find out about Anthony, and someone came forward to explain that he was the founder of Archduke Group and the eldest grandson of the founder of Marwood Group, Anthony Marwood.

Just as Anne tried to go through all the comments, there was a sudden error with the webpage, and when she tried to refresh the page, everything had vanished into thin air, including the video and the comments.

“What did you see?” Sarah asked.

“Everything is gone. Anthony has probably blocked them all,” Anne said. No one in the press would dare to spread rumors regarding Anthony, and that was the power of capitalism. He did not need to waste a single penny, and all it took would be a simple phone call. “Bianca is probably disappointed, though. It‘s rare for her to get the chance to be seen with Anthony so that more people will know that she‘s Anthony‘s fiancé. She must be all smug right now. She‘s a b*tch, just like her mom,” Sarah said in contempt.

“Whatever she is, just ignore them,” Anne reminded them. “I know. They just disgust me. Do you think my share in the Marwood Group counts?” Sarah said. “You‘re still thinking about that?”

“Of course! I contributed a lot.”

“Don‘t stir things up! I will work hard to earn more money to pay for whatever you want,” Anne said with resignation.

“Really? I‘m lucky to have you as my daughter. But considering how much you earn, how exactly are you going to support me?” Sarah said joyfully.

Anne choked. “I will make ends meet.”

“Let‘s see what happens. If I am capable of supporting myself, I won‘t need your help. If I have more money in the bank than you, I can support you as well. There‘s no point in arguing who supports who.”

“I don‘t want you to support me. Just don‘t go and do weird things like you did last time.”

“What weird things? It‘s pretty normal.”

Anne‘s head hurt as she realized she could never reach a consensus with her mother.

After the call, she considered when would be appropriate for her to call Anthony. Since the truth behind Julie was clarified, she would no longer have to face Anthony‘s retaliation.

‘Does that mean I will no longer be an unregistered resident?‘ She thought. She could not reach out to Anthony in a few days‘ time when they were all mourning. The Marwood Group was still operating as per usual, and when Anne showed up to work the next day, everyone was talking about Elder Marwood‘s death.

At the same time, another rumor started.

As soon as Anne stepped into her department, she was swarmed by her colleagues.

“Did you see the video? It was Bianca who stood next to the founder of Archduke Group, right? Is she already a part of the family? Did they get married?” “Listen to yourself. How could she show up to the funeral as a family member if they didn‘t get married?” “Yeah. Even Anne didn‘t go.” “Oh, right. Anne hasn‘t married Mr. Marwood yet.”

Both annoyed and rendered speechless by their questions, she simply told them that she knew nothing other than the fact that Bianca and Anthony were engaged and would soon be married.

Her colleagues seemed content with the information and let her go.

Funerals usually last for three days, and in the afternoon on the third day, Anthony appeared at the shareholders‘ meeting in the Marwood Group. Though Elder Marwood‘s death did not affect the company, everyone was now aware of who held the power within the Marwood Group.

Naturally, Anne was not required to attend the shareholders‘ meeting, but she had wanted to talk to Anthony after Elder Marwood‘s death, and she felt like today was the right time...

Chapter 368 Anne did not feel like working, so she paced back and forth between the department and the bathroom.

After making over ten rounds to the point where her colleagues were starting to be suspicious, she finally saw the door to the meeting room moving.

The door flew open, and Anthony stepped outside with a hand in his pocket and went straight to the elevator.

Anne immediately went to follow him.

She could not talk to Anthony in the Marwood Group, as she had already been the center of gossip at the moment.

Anne watched as the number display went down and turned to head toward another elevator. She tapped on the elevator button anxiously and waited.

Just as the elevator door opened, someone grabbed her by the shoulder from behind and Tommy pulled her into his office.

“What are you doing?” Anne pulled away and tried to leave. She had no time to waste, but Tommy insisted on standing in her way. “Whatever you need to say, wait. I am busy!”

“Over what? You are just going to see Anthony,” Tommy said calmly. Anne scowled. “I am looking for him, but how‘s that any of your business? Are you trying to

stop me?”

“Why are you looking for him?” He lifted an eyebrow and stared at her cunningly. “Is this about my grandfather? How much do you know about it?”

“What? I don‘t know anything.”

“My grandfather died; my uncle was sent off somewhere to ‘mourn‘ and basically lost his position in the company. Before this, he gave half his share to Sarah Vallois. I‘m no fool who would believe that you have nothing to do with this whole thing.” Tommy stood tall before, his body language sending a clear message: that he was not going to let her leave until she told him everything she knew.

“My mom went after Ron because she didn‘t receive enough money after the divorce. That‘s all I know. I am looking for Anthony to talk about how I am still an unregistered resident. That‘s all. Get out of my way!” she said.

She went for the door, but Tommy moved to the side, and her hand simply bumped into his body. Anne scowled in annoyance. “What do you want, Tommy Marwood?”

“Tell me the truth.”

“If you are as good as you claim to be, why not investigate on your own?” “I want to hear it from you.” He leaned in closer and ran his finger through her cheek seductively.

Anne tolerated it while suppressing the disgust she felt. She narrowed her eyes, and instead of backing off, she leaned forward to the point where she was merely an inch away from his face.

“What to do, then? I don‘t know anything. How about this? You go look into it and tell me what‘s going on.”

Tommy froze as the look in his eyes darkened, and his chest heaved.

“Why aren‘t you saying anything?” She teased and reached to grab him by the collar. “Cat got your tongue?” Her lips were right before his eyes, and his mind began to stray as he lowered his head to kiss her.

Anne‘s eyes narrowed coldly as she took advantage of the distraction and grabbed the doorknob behind her before opening the door and running out.

Tommy was stunned and simply watched as she escaped. Her refreshing scent still lingered in the air, and he seemed to sense a hint of milky scent as well.

‘Milk?‘ he thought to himself with a smirk as he pressed his thumb against his lips.

Anne hurried into the elevator and headed downstairs. She was not mad enough to tell Tommy what had happened. Anthony‘s mother had been killed by his grandfather. If such a secret went out, anyone, including the members of the Marwood Family, would risk angering Anthony. 1

‘Has Anthony left? If he did, I could just call him!‘ she thought.

She halted as soon as she ran out of the elevator and reached the parking lot.

The black Rolls Loyce was parked by the side like a silent beast in the dark.

She glared at the car while trying to catch her breath. After a few moments of hesitation, she walked toward it despite not knowing why Anthony‘s car would be there.

No matter the reason, she could finally talk to him in person.

Anthony sat in the backseat with his extremely long legs crossed and a cigarette between his fingers as he stared at Anne like a predator locking onto its prey. Though Anne had wished that she could resolve this through the phone so that she would not have to face Anthony, she had to summon the courage for the confrontation for her freedom. “Were you waiting for me?” she whispered as Anthony should have been gone long ago.

Chapter 369 She could only guess that he had been waiting for her.

“You looked desperate, so I figured you were looking for me.”

She pursed her lips at the realization that Anthony was onto her every move.

‘I thought he was in the meeting? Why would he know that I was walking back and forth to the bathroom?” she thought.

Without time to consider, she blurted out, “Are you okay?”

He sneered. “So you are here to pay your respect, hum?”

Her eyes darted away. “I will cut to the chase if you don‘t want me to at least ask how you are doing. I wanted to talk to you about something... Can you restore my citizenship?” “Why?”

Anne froze at his question. “What do you mean? The truth has come out, and we have nothing to do with your mother‘s death. Shouldn‘t you let us go already?”

“Nothing to do with it, huh?” He stared at her with a mysterious look.

“Yeah! It was your... Ron was the one who kept chasing after my mom, and she didn‘t accept it. Ron himself admitted to it! You can‘t just keep tormenting me over the same thing like you did before!” she explained frantically and took a step forward.

“And that has nothing to do with her? If she had never existed in the first place, none of this would have happened,” he said coldly.

“Is that my mom‘s fault? Anthony Marwood, be reasonable!” Anne was driven mad that though she had finally found hope, it changed nothing in the end. “Your mother didn‘t die because of mine, and I have nothing to do with this. Ask anyone, and we won‘t be condemned from a legal or moral perspective!”

“Are you sure?” He leaned forward and grabbed her by the chin. “Without her, nothing would have happened. Besides, even if all of you were falsely accused, I won‘t let you leave Luton.” “Wh...Why not?” Shocked, she muttered.

“Why? Because you are naive.” He shoved her away with a cold expression and shut the door.

The car drove past Anne and left the parking lot while Anne stood dazedly.

‘Naive? Yeah, I guess I was. I thought that I would be fine once the truth came out. In the end… Why exactly is this happening to me?‘ she thought.

She was slammed into despair as she struggled to understand why Anthony insisted on making her suffer. She remained in a horrible mood for the rest of the day as she felt like she had been condemned to hell from heaven.

Right before getting off work, she received a call from Nigel. “Anne, I contacted the interior designer, and I‘m kind of busy right now. Can you go have a look? Just let him know whatever you want.”

“Why bother? I don‘t intend on moving in anyway.”

“Why not? It‘s a secured area. What‘s the point of buying a place if you are not going to stay in it? Besides, it‘s not like you can move in right away after the renovation. You will need to wait for a few months after that.” Unable to argue, she agreed, and Nigel gave her the contact number of the designer. She made an appointment to meet with the designer at seven because she had no time during the day. Anne went to the new house after having a meal with her children. The designer needed to measure the interior and show her samples of different designs. Unable to make the decision immediately, she took the samples back and agreed to call the designer once she had made up her mind.

Once the designer and his assistant left, Anne got ready to leave and turned to glance at the night view outside the balcony.

It was almost nine at night and the city view was enticing. Drawn to it, she walked closer to look, and the view was as beautiful as she had ever imagined. This was something that she had never dared to think of. She had seen similar views in the Royal Mansion and Lucas‘s apartment before, but the view never truly belonged to her. She gazed outside blankly before turning around to leave, only to stop right before she went back into the apartment. She snapped her head around and stared at the man on a lounging chair on the balcony across in shock.

Doubting her own eyes, she walked closer to inspect. The balcony across was merely decorated with a few plants beside the lounging chair and the coffee table. There was a large piece of glass above the balcony to block out rain and sui yht. Anne noticed the apartment across as well, but she had not expected to see Anthony there, so she simply stared and gaped.

Chapter 370

Chapter 370 It was no wonder that Anthony realized that Nigel had sold a house to her right away. He had an apartment here as well.

Anne felt as shaken as she would if she saw Anthony eating fast food by the street.

She wanted to ignore it and leave, but a noise from the balcony startled her into looking back.

Anthony was leaning against the chair, and the glass in his hand slipped onto the ground, shattering into pieces. Meanwhile, he seemed completely relaxed with his head tilted to the side, his eyes closed and his face pale.

‘Did he pass out? Can I pretend like I didn‘t see him?‘ she thought. She could not.

No matter how much she feared and resented Anthony, he was still the father of her children. However, she could not simply call out to him as well, and calling Bianca was not an option either, or Bianca would question how Anne came to find out where Anthony was.

The only person whom Anne knew the contact number of and would not have to worry about words getting out would be Xander, but when she called, he did not answer.

In the midst of her frustration, she spotted the black–colored phone on the coffee table across that belonged to Anthony.

She tried calling Anthony instead and crouched to hide behind the fences, leaving only her eyes out to watch for any sudden movement.

Anthony‘s phone vibrated, but he remained asleep. The phone continued to vibrate on the smooth surface of the table and eventually fell off of it. Anne widened her eyes in disbelief. ‘It‘s not my fault if the phone broke. This is so annoying!‘ She thought before standing i nd yelling, “Anthony! Anthony Marwood!”

He did not respond, and she could not just ignore his state. Anne did not want to call the ambulance. For someone as unpredictable as Anthony, she had no way of knowing whether he wanted to be sent to the hospital. If he were provoked by it in the end, she would be the one who suffered.

She shot a glance at the balcony that was a meter away. Terrified of height, she could not bring herself to jump. However, there was an extended corner in the balcony, so she climbed up the fences. Startled by the wind that blew upward, she turned her head away and pressed herself against the wall with both her hands holding onto the windows as she slowly moved towards the balcony.

Terrified, she could not bring herself to look down.

‘Damn you, Anthony Marwood! If I die because of you, I am going to haunt you! Why am I even doing this? I‘ve been humiliated, tortured and controlled by you, and I‘m now dying for you as well? I just wonder if I owe you from our past lives,‘ she thought angrily. She moved her legs steadily as she took deep breaths. The wind was slipping through the gaps between her skin and her trousers and she could feel the strength of her legs draining,

knowing perfectly well that if she fell, even her mother would have a hard time recognizing her.

Anthony had simply lost consciousness for a moment from the pain in his stomach, but he had not thought of calling anyone or taking any medication.

He frowned and slowly began to wake up, only to spot Anne clinging to the wall like a lizard. He simply watched without a word as she struggled to move toward the side, her fingers going numb from grabbing onto the edge of the wall. Just when she turned around to check how far away she was, she met a pair of dark, brooding eyes.

Startled, she stumbled and fell backward. “Ah!!”

Her heart threatened to jump out of her chest as she fell. In the next moment, she stopped mid –air.

Anne looked up and saw Anthony grabbing onto her.

Her lips quivered as tears filled her eyes quietly, and he pulled her up with just one hand.

As soon as her feet touched the ground, he grabbed onto her face and questioned sharply, “Do you even think before acting? The only acceptable way for you to die is for you to die in my hands!”

Both terrified and angry for being treated so rudely, she tore his hand away and touched the bruised skin on her face. “Are you even human? Do you think I want to do that? You sat there like you were dead and wouldn‘t respond when I called out to you, so I figured I could come to check on you!” She walked over to pick his phone up from the ground. “Look at this and see for yourself. I called you and Xander. Both of you wouldn‘t answer. How is this my fault?” Anne blamed him for waking up all of a sudden, startling her into falling. Anthony took the phone and did not see any missed call, so he looked up at her. “Do you think that I would let you go if you do this?”

She bit on her lips. She had only done so because he was the father of her children.

“I would appreciate it if you would be kind enough to let me leave,” she said.

He shot her a cold look before stepping towards the chair to sit down as he looked at his phone. “Don‘t you need to look into Cheyenne‘s death?”

“I‘m not leaving the country, so I can still keep in touch with the local police. I trust that they will eventually find who‘s responsible.”

At the moment, Anne was more concerned about her children and knew that she had to leave. Without citizenship, she would not do anything at the moment.

“I‘ve given you a chance,” he said calmly. Anne gritted her teeth. It did not matter if she and Sarah were innocent or how she had acted out of kindness for Anthony‘s sake, he never intended on letting her go. “If you are fine now, I‘m going home.” She turned around to face the fences and hesitated.
