Not only did you not abort her although I have wronged you in the past, you even worked hard to raise her. I would gladly give you four million USD let alone four hundred thousand USD.”
“Didn’t you think by me giving birth to Anne inconveniences you? After all, the two of your family member were very displeased about it! Thus, don’t say they accepted Anne as that clearly wasn’t the case.” Sarah sneered, “So what if they are displeased? I couldn’t be bothered by it.”

“Am I that terrifying?” Anne asked as she was speechless by her mother’s terrified expression. Sarah laughed awkwardly and threw her handbag on the sofa. “What’s so terrifying about you? I simply didn’t expect your presence. What time were you here, and why didn’t you give me a call?”
“You’re playing blackjack, so wouldn’t it be a killjoy if I call you?” Anne asked, “Judging by how you look, did you win or lose?”
“Neither,” Sarah replied, “it’s almost time for dinner, so I’ll go wash my hands.”
She got up and went to the washroom.
