Ch. 491..495: Powerful Papa with Triplet Babies Chapter 491-495

Chapter 491

Though the person did not introduce herself, Anne already knew who it was as it could only be Dorothy.

She knew Bianca's number and there could only be another person as vicious, that was the reason why she rejected the phone calls earlier

when she saw the unknown number.

She simply deleted the text message to keep herself from arguing with Dorothy, before calling the nanny to make sure that her children were

taken care of.

She spoke with the triplets for a while and told them that she was on a business trip, and that she had not disappeared like the last time.

The children remained understanding and agreed to wait for her to get back.

At night, Nigel reserved the room next to Sarah's and told Anne to get some rest there.

’You should take that room. I will just sleep here," she said.

There was a couch in the room, but Nigel was too tall to be sleeping comfortably there, so Anne decided she should stay with Sarah instead.

"Just go. I can sleep here. Go on," Nigel insisted.

Anne went to the room next door and laid on the bed.

One would have to be blind to not tell how Nigel felt about Sarah, and she could not help but wonder why life had to be so difficult for both her and Nigel.

Nigel had to care for his family and Sarah at the same time, when Anne could tell how Dorothy felt about the situation through the text she received.

Three days had passed and while the police pressed charges on the driver responsible, Sarah had not regained consciousness despite the experts Nigel hired were trying every way possible to help her.

Nigel left the room when Anne was wiping Sarah's body and once Anne was done, she opened the door to let Nigel in, only to find him arguing with someone on the phone.

"I did mention that I'm leaving you with everything, but there has been an emergency. Dorothy, just give me some time..."

Anne stilled and thought to herself, 'What? Leaving everything? Is Dad divorcing Dorothy? When did this happen?'

"Dorothy? Dorothy..."

Anne returned to the room and Nigel went back inside shortly after, looking as though nothing had happened.

"Dad, did something happen?"

"Just something about work. I might need to go back to Luton. Don't worry, I'll come back soon."

"Sure. We don't know when Mom will wake up anyway, so I will stay here..." Anne bit her lips hesitantly.

"What's wrong?"

"I'm sorry, Dad, I didn’t eavesdrop on purpose. Are you getting a divorce?" Anne asked.

Nigel's eyes darted away as he struggled to find the words to say.

'Is it because of me and my mom?"

"No. It's for personal consideration. I got back together with Dorothy all those years back for Bianca's sake. Now that Bianca is going to get

married soon, I should start thinking about my own life. Call me if you need anything," Nigel said, before leaving the hospital.

Anne sat by the bed and stared at Sarah dazedly. "Mom, Dad is getting a divorce and I think he is giving up everything. I guess that makes

sense, since Dorothy and Bianca wouldn't possibly accept the divorce that easily... Mom, what would you say to Dad if you are awake? Will

you tell him to proceed, or will you tell him not to get a divorce? I don't know what to say. Dad said that he is doing it for himself, but I felt so

happy when I heard that he's getting a divorce. Is it right for me to feel that way?"

Chapter 492

Sarah was still unconscious, so she naturally could not provide Anne with any answer.

Anne remained in the hospital for the following days and while Sarah showed no sign of waking up, Nigel had not returned since. She held

onto her phone and hesitated as she considered if she should make a call.

There was no point in calling, because Nigel would have already returned if he could, which meant something had happened and he could

not resolve it at the moment.

Anne had expected this, as she knew that Bianca and Dorothy would not accept the situation as it was.

Just as she was deep into her thoughts, the door flew open and someone barged in.

Startled, Anne looked up and was surprised to see Dorothy before her.

'What is she doing here?' She thought. 'Is Dad here? She is alone, though.'

"You seem disappointed to see me here, huh?" Dorothy did not let any expression on Anne's face go unnoticed and turned to look at Sarah.

"She's still alive? I guess she's dying soon."

"Watch it!" Anne could no longer contain her rage.

"Am I wrong? What makes you think that she can recover from this?"

"It's none of your business!"

"It's none of my business, but you trying to steal Nigel from me is my business!" Dorothy said fiercely, "Did you think he was going to come back? It's considered charitable of him to even stay a few days here."

"Stop trying to divide US. I don't care even if Dad doesn't do anything."

"Oh, my. Those are just pretty words." Dorothy went over to the machine and unplugged the oxygen pipe. Sarah immediately started to twitch at the lack of oxygen.

"What are you doing?!" Anne gaped and shoved Dorothy aside, before plugging the pipe back in to stabilize Sarah.

Dorothy stared at Sarah and Anne and simply felt that they were not suffering as much as she wanted.

"What am I doing? Nigel has the guts to say that he wants to divorce me and give up everything for your sake. Very well. If he is giving up everything, he is not spending another penny on this damn woman!" Dorothy pointed at Sarah sharply.

Anne knew that Nigel was the one paying for all the fees as her income was limited, and Sarah's money in the bank required to be taken out by Sarah herself.

"Just think of it as borrowed money, then. We will pay you back once my mom wakes up," Anne said.

"Did I agree to borrowing you money? I didn't, so this is considered stealing! You steal men and money. Both of you are thieves!" Dorothy cursed, before calming down. "Pay me back everything that was spent in this hospital, and I will overlook this."

'I will pay you back." Anne got ready to make a transaction.

"When? When I'm seventy? I want you to do it now. Do you not understand? " Dorothy pressed on.

Anne took a deep breath and took out her phone. "I will make the transaction."

She paid everything she had in the back to Dorothy and there was only a few hundred left in the end, not even enough to hire a nanny.

"That's it? Are you lying to me?"

"Go ask the doctors yourself, then."

"Whatever! I will just think of this as giving money to beggars!" Dorothy walked over to the bed smugly and said, "Sarah, you soon just hurry

up and die already. Don't drag your daughter down with you. She cant afford all the medical fees."

"Get out!" Anne pointed at the door.

"So pathetic." Dorothy shook her head at Anne. "You have slimmed down a lot. My daughter is the fortunate one. When Anthony found out

that Sarah was in a car accident, he was in such a great mood and he is currently celebrating with Bianca as we speak!"

Anne did not react and simply stared at her coldly.

"Also, Nigel won't come here again, so you can just stay here and wait for your mom to die on your own!" 1

Dorothy left and Anne was shivering in rage.

Chapter 493

It felt horrible to be in such a difficult position.

She had always known how to care for her and who wanted her to suffer, but she had not expected anyone to be so merciless.

Anne had no money, and she could not rely on Nigel at the moment, nor Lucas.

She could try asking Tommy for money, but she knew that it would only end badly for her because of Anthony, which left her with the only

option, to go to Anthony.

The amount of money she needed meant close to nothing to Anthony, but she knew that Anthony would have to pay him back in the most

terrifying way.

After thinking it through, she called Bianca.

Bianca was shocked when she received the call from Anne. She knew what had happened and that Dorothy had gone to confront Anne, so

she could not help but wonder if Anne was calling to beg for mercy.

Excited to hear Anne plead, Bianca answered the call and asked, "Who is this?"

"It's me, Anne," Anne said. "I want to borrow money from you."

"What? What are you talking about?" Bianca wanted to burst out laughing." You are borrowing money from me? Anne, are you in the right mind? I would rather give that money to some beggar than you!"

"I have no other way. Your mom took all my money. The hospital is going to throw my mom out if I don't pay them."

"All the better!" Bianca said cheerfully, "Taking your money alone wasn't enough. I wish to god that you and your mom would disappear! What exactly are you thinking of coming to me for help?"

"Okay, then. I guess I will have to ask Anthony for help instead."

Bianca's expression darkened. "Anne Vallois, don't you dare!"

"People do crazy things when they run out of options," Anne said with resignation.

"Wake up! Why would Anthony lend you money? He wants your mom dead as well!" Bianca simply thought that she had gone mad to think of something like that.

"I will try my best to seduce him. So long as it can get him to pay up, I can do anything. That's what I did before to get him to stay away from my mom.

Bianca gaped and started panicking.

She was reluctant to let Anne get anywhere close to Anthony, especially when the two had finally seemed to stay away from one another.

She did not have the courage to bet on whether they would get back together if she allowed Anne to go to him.

"If you are not willing to help, I will call Anthony..."

"Wait!" Bianca shouted. "How much do you want?"

"Fifty thousand."

Bianca gritted her teeth and tried to keep her anger at bay.

"That's just a few handbags to you, right?"

"I will give it to you."

Anne stared at her phone after the call ended and could already picture how furious Bianca must be.

Chapter 494

At the very least, she had resolved the issue with money and she did not have to beg Anthony for it, she did not have to worry about Bianca

complaining to Anthony either, since all she did was borrow money from her.

Anne planned on paying her back.

At night, the personal nurse Nigel arranged before he left came in, so Anne slept in the room next to the room Sarah was in.

Like Nigel had mentioned before, they did not know when Sarah would wake up, so Anne knew that she needed rest to keep her strength.

Anne knew that Nigel cared for her, so she knew he did not abandon her, but had to leave because of other reasons.

Both Dorothy and Bianca wanted Sarah dead, but Anne would not allow that to happen. What Anne could not understand was how Sarah

was hit by a car when Sarah had always been careful when she crossed the road.

Sarah was not heading somewhere far from the hotel and she knew that there were taxis driving around the area.

'Am I overthinking this?' She thought to herself.

Threats to kill Sarah had never been far from Anne's ears when she was in Luton, and a taxi driver would need to have driven a car for five years or above to get their licence, so how could someone that experienced mistake the accelerator as the brake.

Feeling increasingly baffled, she tossed around in bed and decided to go to the police station to learn more about the driver the next day.

Eventually, she drifted off to sleep and dazedly sensed the temperature inside the room dropping. In the dark, a hand reached out and brushed through the scars on her back.

The hand felt hot on her skin and she was startled into fighting back. The next instant, an overpowering force pinned her down.

Familiar with what was happening, Anne froze in disbelief, wondering if she was having a nightmare.

’Do you recognize me now? Hm?" Anthony's husky voice echoed in the darkness.

’...Yeah." Anne was kissed before she could wrap her head around the fact that Anthony was here. "Umphl"

Anthony went onto the bed and pinned her down like a beast.

Anne struggled and turned away. "Don't...my mom is still unconscious..."

It felt wrong to be with a man in the neighboring room when her mother was unconscious in the room next to them.

"You don't get to choose where I take you?" He bit onto her lips and was satisfied when she gasped in pain.

Knowing that she should not argue with him, she changed the subject and asked, "Why are you here? When did you arrive? Are you here

looking for me?"

She wondered for a moment if Anthony was simply here because he needed someone to satisfy his urges, but that did not seem possible

considering how good he was in controlling himself. However, she could not be certain judging from all the things that had happened in the

past.

’I'm here to see if you are being a good girl." Anthony's eyes glowed like wolves' eyes in the dark.

She narrowed her eyes. "I didn't lie to you, right? I didn't go anywhere. I've been in the hospital."

'Go back to Luton with me tomorrow," he demanded.

She hesitated for a moment, before agreeing, “alright."

Surprised that she did not put up a fight, he stared at her like he was trying to see through her soul.

Anne tried her best to ignore the pressure and asked, "When are we leaving? Can it be later during the day? I want to go to the police station

first because this isn't resolved yet. Can we go back to Luton after that?" "I will allow it, since you are being obedient."

Chapter 495

Anne smiled and wrapped her arms around his neck. "Did you miss me?"

The look in his eyes darkened dangerously. 'I miss your body."

"Don't.Jhe doors here cannot be locked, so someone might come inside..."

"They won't."

"Just control yourself. I still need to head out tomorrow..."

"Shut up." He sealed her lips eagerly.

Anne did not fight him and allowed him to do whatever he wanted. Luckily, he did stop eventually and fell asleep with his arm over her waist.

Finally able to catch a break, Anne could not go back to sleep and so, she stared confusedly at Anthony’s face in the darkness.

She knew better than to attempt at guessing what Anthony was thinking, because she was merely his puppet.

She drifted off to sleep shortly after and by the time she woke up, Anthony was gone.

The nurse Nigel hired was still in Sarah's room and she informed Anne that Sarah did not show any sign of regaining consciousness.

Anne felt much calmer compared to before as she was ready to wait for as long as it took for Sarah to wake up.

After letting the nurse know that she was heading out, Anne went to the police station to visit the driver who had been arrested.

The driver had been locked up for a few days and appeared extremely tired.

"The person you hit was my mom. She still hasn't woken up. Isn't there something you need to say to me?" She looked at him coldly.

"I...I already told the police everything. Go ask them..." The driver sat at the corner and refused to face her.

"I'm curious to know if an experienced driver would make such a mistake," she said, "I did some research online and something like that has never happened."

The driver cowered and looked away. "I was in a bad mood and wasn't paying attention."

"Why were you in a bad mood?”

’I...I didn't earn much money."

"Why do I hear from others that people like you could tell the accelerator from the brake even when you are asleep?”

"Are we not allowed to make mistakes? Why are you suspecting? I don't even know your mom."

"I'm just wondering if someone has paid you to do it." Anne studied the change of expressions on the driver's face. "You can take the blame,

because you would only need to be in prison for a few years for cases like this, right?”

"Don't make false accusations at me! Someone, please come and help! Officers! This crazy woman has been threatening me!" The driver

stood up abruptly and slammed his palms against the bars.

Anne came to a conclusion of what had happened based on the driver's reaction.

She had no proof, so there was not a point to mention anything to the police. She did not stay for long and turned to leave.

At noon, she followed Anthony back to Luton, and was surprised to see a helicopter as she thought that they were traveling by car.

It was her first time being on a helicopter and it shortened their travel time by half.

She did not agree to return because of Anthony, but because of her children.

It had been a week since she left and though she called them from time to time, the children were growing uneasy.

Anne had found a pattern in Anthony's behaviors and she knew what she needed to do to coax the man into allowing her to return to Santa

Nila.
