Ch. 1901..1910

Chapter 1901 Eira nodded in tears. From then on, whenever she saw someone having some snacks, she only watched and drooled. She had never snatched anything away from others anymore.

Her brother forbade her from stealing. If she were to steal, her brother would break her legs, she kept thinking about that throughout her whole journey home. She arrived home silently while she was thinking of that. When she got home, she saw her mother curling on the edge of the bed.

"Mom, Mom, what happened to you?" asked Eira, rushing forward.

"Eira, I can't earn money anymore. Our little wooden shed is gone. I can't buy a down jacket for you anymore. You'll freeze." Eira's mother hugged her and squeezed her very tightly.

Eira was in pain from being squeezed by her mother, but she did not move, she did not resist and did not escape, she knew her mother cared for her. Her mother, who had originally recovered, had a relapse because she had lost her small wooden shed due to the demolition of their neighborhood. Also, the medication at home was going to run out soon. Eira did not want to let her mother be admitted into a psychiatric hospital. If that were to happen, not only would have lost her father, but she would have even lost her mother, she did not know how long she was being hugged by her mother, but she just let her hug her like that. It was not until her mother was tired and had fallen asleep that Eira broke free from her mother's arms. She did not say a word. She just quietly covered her mother with a blanket, and then she silently went out on her own. she did not hesitate and did not look back. Instead, she got on a bus and went to the mansion her father was at.

Eira had been to the mansion her father was staying at a few times. When she was younger, it was her mother who brought her there. However, they always watched from afar, and her mother said to her, "The woman staying here was the vixen who seduced and took your father away."

Every time they had been there, her mother had always cursed outside that mansion for a very long time. Later on, when Eira missed her father, her brother was the one who sent her over and she practically had always just glanced at her father. Therefore, she had been to her father's mansion many times, but Eira had never gone in before, she did not know what the interior of the mansion looked like.

She squatted in the small bushes outside of the mansion like a tiny stray cat and just crouched there to wait. She was not in a rush to get home. That was because her brother was only able to go home around ten at night when there were no more customers in the restaurant. Therefore, nobody would be worrying whether she had returned home or not at that hour. She just quietly waited there like that. 1 It was not until seven in the evening that a car finally slowly drove over outside of the mansion, when the car arrived outside the entrance of the mansion, it parked at a dedicated parking spot. The car door opened, and the first person who got out of it was a chirping and incomparably joyful little princess. The little princess was wearing bright red clothes and it was incredibly glaring.

"Dad, was my dance performance today good?"

"It's especially good. Our Brooke is the prettiest little princess," praised Delmont.

"Then, what reward are you giving today?" asked Brooke.

"Well...when you get home, I will give you a surprise," Delmont said.

"Alright!"

The family of three was just about to open the door when a ball of something suddenly rushed out in front of them. Brooked was frightened. "Ah! What is this thing? It seemed like a big rat."

It was not until she was done shouting that she saw that it was a girl who was slightly taller than her.

"Why is it you again?" asked Brooke very unhappily.

Chapter 1902 Eira raised her head and looked at Delmont, but she did not say anything.

Delmont had a panic-stricken expression. He could not acknowledge Eira. Even if he cared for Eira very much in his heart, he could not acknowledge her at that moment. Just three days ago, there was a parent teacher conference in his daughter’s class. During that time, every student had written an essay titled " My Father." Brooke had praised him, her father, to be great and generous. The most important thing was that Brooke had mentioned many times in her essay that she was the only daughter, she was the little princess and the apple of her parents eyes. At the end of her essay, Brooke even emphasized that she had seen too many children from single- parent families or blended families who were not so happy, she felt that children should be the happiest when they were with their original family. It was best when their biological parents had never been divorced. She even urged the parents of the little children in her class to never easily divorce and to not easily reconstitute their families. 1 At that moment, Delmont was wondering, how would the child think if he let Brooke know her own father was remarried? He absolutely could not let Brooke know. His daughter had good grades, was kind, was outstanding in all aspects, and was a proud little princess. Delmont absolutely could not let his daughter, who was the apple of his eyes, knew that he had remarried.

Since Delmont could not let Brooke know, he had no choice but to let Eira be aggrieved. After all, Eira was two years older than her sister.

"Little beggar," Delmont called out.

Eira was instantly startled, then tears filled her eyes in an instant. Those tears that filled her eyes were glistening like the twinkling stars. However, Eira held them back and did not let them roll 1 down her cheeks. Eira was not the only one who was shocked. Even Joy could not help but glance at her husband, she did not expect that her husband would call the daughter he had with his ex-wife a little beggar. Originally, she still had a little guilt in her heart when she saw this child.

However, once she saw her husband treating this child like that, Joy instantly felt relieved and justified.

Her gaze became gentle and she smiled, she gently reprimanded with a smile, "Delmont, I told you not to be so kind, but you insisted on being kind. You can't pity a beggar these days. If you pity her once, she would be expecting that you'll do it again."

Eira was speechless, when Delmont saw Eira in front of his mansion, he was also startled at first. Two years have passed since the last time Eira had come to ask him for money, and she never came to look for him again. At that moment, his business was thriving and his daughter was becoming more outstanding. The family of three were living a great and happy life.

Even for the matter of giving Eira allowances every month, he had already let his subordinates take care of it. If it was not that Eira had once again appeared in front of him at that moment, Delmont already could have the peace of mind of not caring about this child that he had with his ex-wife.

Two years had passed. Eira had already grown up quite a bit, but as she was malnourished, she still seemed thin and small and was not different from two years ago. It was no wonder why Brooke recognized her at a glance.

"Little beggar, what are you doing here again? You're really so annoying." Brooke looked at Eira and the disgust in her eyes was unconcealable. 5 At that moment, Eira's appearance and height were not much different from two years ago. She was still wearing tattered clothes, but she was much cleaner and neater than two years ago.

Chapter 1903 Hearing Delmont and Brooke calling her a little beggar, Eira actually felt very sad. However, once she thought of the purpose for her coming that day, Eira could only clench both her fists tightly and tried her best to force a smile on her face, she looked at Brooke and Delmont. "Mister Stevens and Miss Stevens, I am not here to ask for something today. I am here to thank you.

Two years ago, you had given me two new clothes and a pair of new shoes. I have always remembered that. I have always wanted to repay your kindness. However, I knew that you were not lacking in anything, so I didn’t know how to repay you. Therefore, I was thinking that I can serve Miss Stevens. Firstly, it's to repay your kindness. Secondly, it's also to earn a little money, just being able to cover my basic needs would be enough."

Eira looked at Brooke. The way Eira looked at that moment made Brooke extraordinarily satisfied. The word serve, in particular, made Brooke beam. Such a little beggar only deserved to work to serve others. When Brooke saw that although Eira was dressed in tattered clothes at that moment, she indeed looked clean, Brooke instantly lifted her chin arrogantly. Then, Brooke said to Eira, "You’re dressed considerably clean today. If you want to come home and serve me, you can. I am in a good mood today, so I will let you earn a little money."

Brooke had a high and mighty look on her face, then she rolled her eyes at Eira before walking straight into her house. Eira heard that Brooke had agreed, so she looked at Delmont and Joy with an anticipating expression.

"Joy, look, this..."

"What are you doing looking at me? It's this all because you've not handled it well? Brooke had already agreed now, so what else can I do? Delmont, you’d better have that trouble of yours in the past taken care of. Don’t let her keep sticking around every other day like a piece of gum.

She said she wanted to earn a little money, she just wanted to come and ask for money, didn’t she? We've always been giving her living expenses every month. Such an insatiable one!" said Joy, as she glanced at Eira with disgust and went in as well.

After Eira saw Brooke and Joy had left, only then did she dare to timidly and faintly call Delmont dad with tears in her eyes. Delmont shuddered slightly when he heard her calling him dad. He looked at Eira with a slightly pale face. "Didn’t you promise me to never let Brooke know? What are you doing here now?"

"Dad, I truly just wanted to earn some money. I will not put you in a difficult position. The house that we're renting is going to be demolished. Mom's small wooden shed is gone. Now, Mom..."

"Enough!" When Eira mentioned Eirwen, Delmont's expression turned hard and he stopped her.

when he saw Eira seemed to be startled, only then did Delmont take a deep breath, and then said with a softened tone. "If you want to go in and serve Brooke to earn money, I can just let you be. However, no matter what, you can’t let Brooke know the relationship between you two.

Do you hear that?"

"I heard it," answered Eira, as she obediently hung her head.

Eira followed Delmont all the way into the mansion. That kind of misery that was spreading from the bottom of her heart suddenly came over her and made her feel like crying. She was also Delmont's daughter, and Delmont's blood also ran in her veins. However, that winter that year, she did not even have any decent winter clothing at all. The place she was staying at was beyond disrepair and wind was coming in everywhere from the windows. However, Brooke was staying at such a luxurious mansion.

Richness was showing everywhere in this mansion. If any random part of the landscape was sold, the money would have been enough for their family of three to live for a long time, why was it that they were both Delmont's daughter, but she and Eira were living such drastically different lives?

Eira did not know much in the past, she just knew that other people had fathers, and she also wanted to have a father. Therefore, every time she saw Delmont, she behaved obsequiously and tried her best to please him. She thought that Delmont would be nicer to her like that and would visit her more often. However, she was already ten years old at that moment, and she knew that all of that was not possible anymore. It was her father who abandoned her mother. At that moment, Delmont only thought the further away he hid from them, the better it was. He did not want to see them again at all.

Chapter 1904 "Are you blind? How can you enter the door directly when your feet are so dirty? Don't you know to go over there and wipe the dust off the soles of your feet first?" Brooke's sharp and angry shouting instantly pulled Eira back from being in her thoughts.

Eira hurriedly pulled her foot. After that, she obediently walked over to the doormat at the side and cleaned all the dust off the sole of her feet. Only then did she dare to follow Delmont into the house.

After she entered the door, Joy looked at Eira, who was standing at the side and was slightly at a loss, then she said coldly, "Since you're here to serve Brooke, then just follow Brooke and serve her. Brooke has to practice the piano after school, so you just stand and serve her at the side. If Brooke is thirsty, then you pour her a glass of water. If she is hungry, then bring her some snacks. If she is tired or sleepy, you can help to massage her lightly. Do you understand?"

"I understand," Eira answered. After that, she followed Brooke and walked to the piano room on the second floor.

Once Eira walked into the piano room, she was stunned by the scene in front of her eyes. The piano room on the second floor was extraordinarily luxurious. The grand piano in the middle of the room was especially majestic. It actually seemed to be even more majestic and better looking than that grand piano in the restaurant. Eira followed Brooke to the side of the piano, and she could not help but gently stretch her hand out to touch the piano. However, as she had just stretched her hand out, she was aggressively hit once on her hand by Brooke with a ruler. Eira felt pain and immediately pulled her hand back. The ruler had hit Eira's knuckles and she teared up from the pain. However, she could only bite her lips tightly to stop herself from crying.

Brooke looked at Eira with her hands on her waist. " Little beggar, do you know how expensive this piano is? How dare you touch it with your dirty hands? I am in a good mood today so I let you come in to serve me out of the kindness of my heart. Originally, such a lowly person like you is not worthy to enter my house. If you dare to simply touch the piano again, I will tell my parents that you spoiled the piano and I will make youpay for it!" 1 Eira was so afraid that she shuddered lightly when she heard Brooke. How could she afford to pay for such an expensive piano? she hurriedly said, "I don’t dare anymore. I will not simply touch it anymore."

Brooke said to Eira just as she sat in front of the piano, "I'm thirsty. Go and bring me a glass of water."

Eira scanned the room and saw that there was something like a water dispenser not far away.

Then, she quickly walked towards it. However, when she came to the front of the machine, she was confused. She did not know how to use this machine. She circled that machine, and as she did not dare to Brooke, she could only try and stretch her hand out to press a button. As a result, boiling water immediately flowed out from the faucet. Eira was not prepared for that at all so the water splashed onto her hand, she was scalded so she failed to maintain a proper grip and the glass in her hand instantly fell to the floor and broke.

Brooke saw that Eira actually broke her favorite glass, so she instantly flew into a rage. She abruptly got up and yelled at Eira. "Little beggar, you have a death wish, don’t you?"

In fact, Brooke did that on purpose. She had long been unhappy with that pair of slender and pretty hands of Eira's. Although Brooke was learning to play the piano, her hands were short and stumpy and were not actually suitable to play the piano at all. when Brooke hit Eira with a ruler a moment ago, she had seen Eira's hands, which was why she deliberately tricked her to go pour her a glass of water, she wanted to scald Eira's hands. However, Brooke did not expect Eira to actually break her favorite glass. Brooke was truly infuriated at that moment.

"I'll tell my parents now that you're not here to repay our kindness at all. You are an ungrateful person. You deliberately broke my favorite glass and dirtied my piano. You're doing this on purpose. You're jealous that I am living a better life than you. You, beggar, have a twisted soul, so you deliberately came to create trouble. I have to tell my parents and have them send you to the police station!" said Brooke, while saying that, she turned around and wanted to run downstairs. 1 Eira was truly stunned when she saw the way Brooke looked at that moment. That glass seemed radiant and colorful. She did not know how much it was worth.

Chapter 1906 Delmont looked at Eira, and his heart was in chaos at that moment. In fact, according to his understanding of Eira, he did not believe that Eira would push Brooke down the stairs. However, whether he believed it or not was already not important anymore. What mattered was Brooke! Thinking of that, Delmont looked at Eira. "It's all your doing! If anything bad were to happen to Brooke, Eira, don’t you think you'11 be able to live a good life! Go back home immediately and never set foot here again!"

After Delmont said that, he quickly chased after Joy and Brooke. At that moment, all he had eyes for was Brooke's safety. He did not care about Eira at all. The car sped off and went to the hospital. Seeing her daughter was sent into the emergency room, Joy bawled and made a fuss at Delmont with tears in her eyes.

"Delmont, after I returned from studying abroad, I was still so young and had not been married once. If it weren't for you, I would have had a bright future! Because I fell in love with you, I married you despite everything. Little by little, I helped you build Delmont and Joy Fashion Company into the scale it is today. My request has been very simple since the beginning. I just wanted to properly deal with your ex-wife and the daughter you had with her, and not them ruin our lives. However, what did you do? You can’t even do this one thing! Delmont, I'm telling you, if anything happens to Brooke today, I certainly will skin Eira!"

Joy grabbed Delmont by his collar and roared at him. Delmont just hung his head and let Joy hit and yell at him as she pleased without even daring to utter a single sound. It was not until after Joy was done screaming and venting her emotions that she calmed down slightly. Delmont saw that Joy had calmed down, then only he dared to say, "Don't worry. If anything were to happen to Brooke, even I would skin Eira, let alone you. I had just scolded her just now. She shouldn’t dare to come to our house again. If she dared to come again, I'll definitely beat her and chase her out."

When Joy saw the way he looked, she just rolled her eyes in anger. She was originally prepared to just let it go, but she suddenly had an idea, she could not help but stretch her hand to grab Delmont's arm.

"How did your meeting with Mister Qualls go? Has he agreed to invest in our company?"

When Delmont suddenly heard Joy mention Mister Qualls, he involuntarily knitted his eyebrows tightly.

" Why did you mention him? That old man is truly evil. He agreed to invest, but he requested for US to send Brooke over for him to play with for a few days. Are you not clear on what he meant by playing?

Even if my capital chain has ruptured and my company has to be closed, I also can’t let Brooke do this kind of thing! You' re her mother. How can you still think of this matter?" said Delmont, as he looked at Joy with his eyes filled with incredulity.

When Joy heard Mister Qualls mention this request, she was so angered that she almost took a knife and went over to stab him. Delmont was so scared that he did not dare to say anything anymore, so why would Joy bring it up herself at that moment?

Joy looked at Delmont and whispered in his ears. " Delmont, are you a fool? Brooke is our precious little princess. How can she go and do such a thing?

However, Mister Qualls just wanted a pretty little girl. It was not that he had to have Brooke. Don’t you have another daughter?"

She had long been unhappy with Eira. Originally, Eira almost never appeared in front of her in the past years, so Joy just let it go. However, that day, Eira actually made Brooke fall from the top of the stairs.

Joy could no longer endure it anymore! No matter if Eira was the one who pushed Brooke, she still had something to do with it. Joyce certainly has to make Eira pay a price.

When Delmont heard what Joy said, he was clearly shocked. He suddenly leapt up from the chair, stunned. "What did you say?"

Chapter 1907 They were at the hospital, so when Delmont suddenly shouted like that, the people in his surroundings instantly looked over. Delmont was embarrassed and he hurriedly sat down.

"Delmont, what are you doing getting all emotional? Do you care for that d*mn girl so much in your heart? Don’t you forget that she had just viciously pushed Brooke down the stairs today. If you don’t give her a little punishment, there's no telling if she would do something more terrible next time. Besides, doesn’t she think it's too miserable to live with her mother now? Then, that's just great. Mister Qualls' family is very rich. After she has gotten together with Mister Qualls, does she still need to worry that she'll not live a good life? Mister Qualls also said that he just wanted to bring a child over to play for a few days. After you've sent Eira over, our company would be saved. Delmont, you also don’t want to see the company that we've worked so hard to build for so many years be ruined because of this problem, right? All these years, we had never missed a month of the living expenses we have given her. Now that our company is in crisis, it's not too much to let her help US get through the crisis, right?" asked Joy aggressively, as she looked at Delmont.

"If you can’t bear to send her over, by the time our company's capital chain has truly ruptured, our whole family will have to go hungry. After all, in your eyes, the safety of that daughter you had with your ex -wife is much more important than Brooke and I...," said Joy. She deliberately turned her body and acted as if she was going to ignore Delmont.

When Delmont heard her say that, he hurriedly reached out and wrapped her in his arms. "What nonsense are you talking about? How can she compare with our Brooke? I had never raised her by my side all these years. How can I be close to her? In my eyes, she is no different from someone else's child. You're right. Since she is living so miserably with that useless mother of hers, then she might as well be with Mister Qualls. At least, she would be well fed and clothed."

Hearing Delmont saying that, Joy finally broke into a smile. She turned around to look at Delmont and said, "Let's not delay it any further. After Brooke is all fine here, you should quickly discuss with Mister Qualls and send her over. We can also get the money earlier." Delmont looked at Joy. "I got it."

Only then did Joy feel completely satisfied and lean into Delmont's arms. However, at that moment, Eira, on the other hand, had no clue that she had been schemed by her own father and Joy. After Eira was kicked out of the mansion, Eira had been clenching her right hand tightly. She was holding a small golden pendant in her right hand. Eira had yanked it off Brooke's neck when she pushed her down the stairs earlier. After she yanked it off, she had been clenching tightly in her hand and she had never dared to let it go for a moment. With this small golden pendant, they should be able to temporarily get through the crisis.

After they have moved, they could rebuild a new small wooden shed for their mother. As long as she had a job, their mother's emotions would be much better and she would not be sent to the psychiatric hospital. Eira did not want her mother to be sent away. No matter what, she had to protect this family of hers. Even if she had to steal or snatch, she also had to protect her mother and protect this family, while Eira thought about that, she could not help but quickly run in the direction of her house.

She got to the tattered door, pushed it open, and sat next to her mother's bed. she just waited quietly for her brother to come home, when her brother got off work and returned home, she would let her brother see this small golden pendant. Her brother certainly would be happy. After they sold the small golden pendant, she could then buy a jacket for her brother. Then, her brother would no longer be shivering in coldness when he comes home from work every day.

While thinking about that, Eira could not help but smile. She just waited for her brother to come home with an anticipating expression.

Chapter 1908 Eirwen was sleeping soundly on the bed. she had been in a terrible state of man these days, so once she had fallen asleep, she would be sleeping for a very long time. After she had woken up, her mind would be in an incomparable mess.

Eira looked at the tattered blanket covering her mother, she hung her head and wiped her tears, she then went over to tuck Eirwen in properly. Actually, Eira knew very well that this blanket had been used for too long, so he had long been unable to keep her warm. It was still slightly better at that moment. If the weather got any colder, her mother and brother certainly would suffer from the cold. Their house was lacking in too many things, and this small golden pendant was not enough at all. she could not let her brother shoulder all the burden, she had to help to share some burdens. She also had to earn money. The golden pendant that she got that day was a very good start.

After Eira had properly tucked Eirwen in, she took a look at the sky outside, she had been waiting for her brother to return, she already could not wait to share this joy with her brother.

After some time, some footsteps could finally be heard outside. Eira hurriedly went to greet the person. She walked quickly to the door and opened it. However, the person who appeared at the door was not her brother, but it was Delmont.

With a face full of dismay, Eira looked at Delmont who was standing at the door. After that, she quickly clenched her right hand tightly like a child who had done something wrong and quickly took two steps back. "Dad, I didn't push her. I really didn't. Believe in me, alright? My mother is in a terrible state of mind right now. She can't be away from me. I'm begging you to not capture me and don’t lock me up, alright? If you truly want to avenge my sister and firmly believe that I was the one who did it, then push me down the stairs. You just push me down the stairs as well, alright?" said Eira, her eyes already filled with tears.

Throughout all these years spent struggling to survive with her mother and brother, Eira had seen all sorts of parents, she had seen a father who would hold an umbrella when it was raining, but only to cover his child. She had seen a father who would buy his daughters' favorite candy for her even though he only had ten dollars left in his pocket, she had also seen a father who was terribly ill, but for the sake of her daughter, he did his best to hold on as he wanted to keep all the money he had saved for his daughter. However, on the other hand, Eira could not acknowledge his father and could not see him. Only her father would call her a little beggar...

As she thought of that, Eira almost cried out loud. However, Eira was afraid that Delmont would be annoyed when he saw her, so she forced herself to hold her tears back and did not let them fall down her cheeks no matter what.

When Delmont saw the way Eira looked at that moment, he also felt very distressed. When he looked past Eira and looked inside the house, Delmont's eyebrows were knitted even tighter. The house was beyond disrepair. It looked unlike a place that someone could stay in at all. when he glanced over and saw that person on the bed, Delmont's expression got even more awful. Ever since he had divorced Eirwen, Delmont had never seen her again. However, he did not expect that she would actually turn out to be like that. Delmont truly did not know what kind of life Eira could live in such a terrible environment.

After all, she was his daughter, so it would be lying to say that he was not heartbroken at all.

Originally, Delmont felt quite uncomfortable when he thought of sending Eira to Mister Qualls.

However, when he saw Eira living like that, Delmont felt that Joy was not wrong. Rather than living with her crazy mother in such a precarious situation, perhaps Eira would truly be living a better life with Mister Qualls. Thinking of that, Delmont patiently and slowly knelt, which was rare, and raised his head to look at Eira. He then said gently, "Silly child, what are you talking about?

You're my child. How can I bear to push you down the stairs? I was just too anxious just now when I saw Brooke was injured, so I may have been a little harsh with my words. Don' t be angry with me, alright?"

Chapter 1909 Eira never expected that Delmont would say such a thing to her. The tears that she had forcefully held back instantly streamed down her cheeks at that moment, she stood in front of Delmont like that and called him dad with a lump in her throat. Eira truly wanted to hug Delmont, but she did not dare to. she just stood on the spot and cried until her face was covered in tears.

Looking at the way she was, Delmont raised his hand and gently wiped the tears off her face.

After that, for the first time ever, he reached out his arms and put this daughter of his in his arms.

All the suppressed emotions that Eira had finally could no longer be suppressed any longer at that moment. She curled in Delmont's arms and burst out crying. ” Dad, Dad, I really miss you very much. I truly miss you very much..."

When Delmont saw the way Eira looked at that moment, other than to let out a heavy sigh, he did not know what to do for a moment there. He had spent too little time with this daughter, so much so that he unexpectedly was a little confused about how he should interact with her. It was not until Eira was done crying that Delmont only looked at Eira. "Eira, let's go. While the mall is still not closed yet, I'll take you to buy some clothes, alright?"

When Eira heard what Delmont said, her eyes lit up. Eira originally wanted to ask Delmont to buy new clothes for her brother. However, whenever she mentioned that in the past, Delmont would tell her that he had no obligation to raise her brother, so Eira did not dare to bring it up anymore, she just thought that after Delmont had bought her some new clothes, she would not wear them.

Instead, she would sell them off and the money should be enough for her to buy a cheaper down jacket for her brother. This way, her brother would no longer need to suffer in the cold. Thinking of that, Eira immediately nodded obediently.

"Dad, I'll go cover the blanket on Mom. I'll be right out."

While saying that, Eira walked quickly to the side of Eirwen, and then stuffed the small golden pendant into Eirwen's hand in the blanket. Only then did Eira turn around and followed Delmont out the door.

She walked on the street, holding Delmont's large hand, and she was all smiles. She truly had not smiled so happily for a very long time. It had always been Eira's dream to be able to hold her father's hand like that. She just never expected that such a dream would actually come true one day. Eira was truly happy, but in comparison to her, Delmont appeared to be very uneasy.

He was dressed in a sharp and expensive suit, but the child he was holding in his hands was dressed in tattered clothes, so it was only natural that many people cast their gaze on them throughout the whole journey. Some of them were curious, some were shocked, and some were disdainful. Every kind of stare made Delmont extremely uneasy. If he did not have to coax Eira at that moment, Delmont truly did not want to hold her hand and be seen with her in the crowded streets like that. However, once he thought of his goal, Delmont still suppressed that weird feeling from the bottom of his heart and brought Eira to the nearest mall.

"Eira, you pick. As long as it's something you like, I'll buy them for you, alright?"

When the worker heard what Delmont said, she felt that a huge customer had come in.

Therefore, she did not care about the fact that Eira was still wearing tattered clothes. "Little beauty, your father is really good to you. Look at these clothes. Do you like them? These are the latest arrivals in our store."

Eira looked at those clothes and secretly picked up the price tag to glance at them.

When Delmont saw the little motion of her hand, he said gently, "If you like it, buy it. Don’t worry about the price."

When the worker heard that, she could not help but be enthusiastic, she took Eira around the store and selected a few pretty clothes for her. If Eira had not kept on saying that she had had enough, the worker would have loved to let her try on all the new arrivals in the store.

After Delmont had paid for the clothes, he looked at Eira and said, "Eira, your Aunt Joy has to be at the hospital to accompany Brooke today. I'll be home alone. Is it alright if you keep me accompanied instead?"

Chapter 1910 Eira was simply shocked by the sudden flattery, she asked Delmont in disbelief, "Dad, what did you say?"

"Don't go home today and stay with me. You have to know that this is also your house. I will let the maid tidy up a room for you, alright?" Delmont said.

Eira was speechless. She could not believe that her father would treat her like that. She has had her walls up against her father for a long time, and she almost had no affection for him at all.

However, at that moment, she suddenly burst into tears. "Dad, I have actually always wanted to be close to you."

Delmont felt upset. "I know..."

Eira wiped her tears. "I'm sorry, Dad. I can't stay here. I have to go home to accompany my mom at night. Her mind is not functioning well, so I have to take care of her. Mom, Aunt Joy, thank you for the new clothes. Thank you so much. I have to take my leave first now, but I will come early in the morning tomorrow to accompany Brooke."

She wanted to come early in the morning because she wanted to steal. Although Eira saw her father in a different light at that moment, she still wanted to steal. That was because Eira knew that no matter how good her father treated her, it was impossible for him to support her mother and brother, so she had to steal. She carried a bunch of Brooke's unwanted clothes, which was given to her by Joy, on her back and left the Stevens family's mansion like she was fleeing. Her little figure swayed as she walked while carrying such a big bag on her back. Delmont watched her for a long time behind her.

"Are you feeling sorry?" asked Joy.

Delmont sneered. "You and Eira are not related by blood at all. of course, you can speak as if it has nothing to do with you! However, they are both my daughters! Besides, the girl that the d*mned old man fancied is Brooke and not Eira!" 1 Joy choked Delmont's neck in one fell sweep and her nails were pinched into his flesh. "Delmont Stevens, listen to me! I have wasted all of my youth on you! I had never taken any advantage of you! I only have a daughter, Brooke! If anybody dares to harm her, I will fight the person to death!"

Delmont was suffocating to the point that he kept coughing. "You.Jet go first. Let go..." Only then did Joy let him go.

Delmont's face completely reddened from being suffocated. "Our attitude is the same! As long as someone dares to have funny ideas about my precious daughter, I will fight that person to death!

The worst case is that I abandon the company! Let it go bankrupt!"

"Do you want my daughter to live the same life as your ex-wife's daughter? Let her have no place to call home, let her parents become discredited debtors and be imprisoned, and then affect our daughter for her whole life? When that time comes, our daughter will still fall into the hands of that d*mned old man," Joy asked.

Delmont got anxious. "Tell me what we should do then?"

"Only one can be sacrificed!" said Joy without hesitation.

Originally, she had a little sympathy for Eira. When Joy's interest was not harmed, she was very willing to give Eira some help. For example, since Brooke's unwanted clothes were going to be thrown out anyway, Joy would do Eira a favor and gather all those clothes together to send to Eira. Not only that, but Joy had even personally matched those clothes so that Eira would not simply match the clothes to wear after she had gone home.

However, things were different at that moment. The matter at hand was related to the very survival of Brooke and Delmont and Joy Fashion Company. Therefore, Joy truly could not care about others anymore and she would not be sympathetic to Eira anymore. At such a critical moment, she had to use Eira as her daughter's substitute. However, she heard Delmont say, "You money-minded person! Joy Fox, don’t you forget that Eira is my daughter! Mine! she has our Stevens family's blood running in her veins!"

"Fine, then send Brooke over!" Joy said.

Delmont was speechless.

"When the time comes, I will go crazy! I will be crazier than your ex-wife! I will bite off every inch of your flesh from your body! I will bite you to death! Just wait and see!" Joy said again.

Then, Joy strutted back into the mansion.
