Chapter 11: Money

After finishing her breakfast, Rose returned to her room.

Last night because she came home late, she didn’t have time to look at her bedroom. She observed the size of the room, which was not too big. It only fit one single bed in the middle of the room. In the corner of the room near the glass window overlooking the parking lot and a busy street, there is a study table complete with a high shelf for storing books and some photos.

From the window, she can see a tall apartment building from the window that was just completed two years ago. Not only that but her house was flanked from various angles by other tall buildings. There are apartments on the left and right, while office buildings are at the back. Make the streets around her house never empty. Always crowded and lively.

Rose opened her bedroom window and breathed in the fresh morning air. After that, she looked to the other side of the room. There is a bathroom and a wardrobe that is not too big. Her bedroom is dominated by blue and white colors, not much furniture or decoration in the room, and it looks very minimalist.

"It’s nice to come back here..." Rose still couldn’t believe all of this had happened to her. How could she rebirth like the female lead she watches in drama or read in novels!? It feels unreal for her.

Still in awe of what had happened to her, Rose lay on her bed staring at the ceiling above. But not long after, she remembered her cellphone. Since last night she turned off her cellphone, too lazy to read messages from Dustin.

After finding her cellphone in her backpack, she immediately turned it on. She was surprised because many short messages came in, all from Dustin.

She read a few messages. She was stunned when she found out Dustin was waiting for her to come home last night.

"Did he see that Evan drove me home in the night?" Rose murmurs while holding her cell phone. For some reason, she feels uneasy knowing Dustin came to her house.

Still a little annoyed reading the text message from Dustin, Rose opened another text message from Evan that had just arrived. Instantly she smiled when reading it.

[Evan] I will come to your house at 10. Is it ok?

[Evan] Is there something you want? Let me buy it for you...

[Evan] What is your mother’s favorite flower?

Before she could reply to the texts, suddenly, her cellphone rang, and Evan’s name appeared on her cell phone screen. Hurriedly she sat on her bed while accepting the call.

"Morning, Evan!" Rose greeted him sweetly.

"Good morning, beautiful... What are you doing now? Did you just wake up?"

Rose blushed, hearing Evan’s words.

"Of course not... I’ve finished breakfast and now am tidying up my bedroom." Rose giggled while laying her body on her soft bed. It felt weird because she had not felt happiness like this since a long time ago. It feels so good. "Evan, have your breakfast?"

"Hmm...same with you. I just finished my breakfast."

"Has anyone sold food this early?"

"Beauty... I cooked it myself." Evan laughs when he hears Rose surprised.

"You can cook!?" Rose was shocked. She thought that Evan was just buying her food or having the chef prepare it for him. How could someone like Evan cook and take care of himself alone?

In her past life, she knew Evan’s true identity after she moved to the capital. Evan is not an ordinary person, but he is one of the heirs of the Collins Family, who is affluent and holds significant control of this country’s economy.

When he was still studying in this B city, no one knew his identity, including her. But after he finished college, Evan returned to the capital, and his identity was published not long after. The whole campus, especially their class, was in an uproar because they knew Evan Collins was among the wealthiest people in this country.

"Of course, I can cook. I’ve been living alone in this city for almost four years...."

"Really?" Rose still wasn’t sure Evan Collins could cook, even live alone. He must have a personal assistant at his apartment, right?

"Yup! If you don’t believe me... how about you come to my apartment tonight? I’ll cook for you...." Evan pauses for a moment, smiling happily at his genius idea. "Think of this as our first date as a couple, Rose!"

Rose almost choked with her own saliva when she heard Evan’s words. Instantly her face felt warm. She blushed. In a hurry, she hides her face behind her blanket and giggles before she replies to him.

"Alright! We will go on a date after we lunch here. How about that?"

"Hmm... sounds good!" Evan’s voice sounded happy and made Rose smile until she felt her cheek hurt slightly.

Rose really wanted to see where Evan had lived all this time, and at the same time, she also wanted to discuss her big plan; she would open her new trading bank account on Monday. Also, she wants to discuss the stocks they will buy in the next few days. Rose plans to involve Evan in her plan to build her business empire. She also wanted to share her knowledge of the future with Evan. But she will do it carefully so Evan wouldn’t think she is crazy.

After a quick chat with Evan, Rose immediately tidied up her bedroom as she gathered some documents she needed. While at it, her eyes landed on the blue bank book in her drawer.

She quickly checked the amount in her savings. She was surprised because she had a lot in there. There is $50,000 in her savings. This is quite a lot considering that she didn’t have a steady income. All this money she collects from the pocket money that her mother has given her $500 per month since she entered college a few years ago.

Rose had never used this money because she had a full scholarship. And for the past two years, she has been actively earning income from translating documents into various languages. She is fluent in 7 languages, and her professors often ask her to convert foreign language documents into English. She earns quite a lot of money from this freelance job.

Rose and her mother are not well off. Her family’s finances only improved in recent years, to be exact, when she was in high school. Before then, their life was not as good as it is now. The area of their house is underdeveloped and deserted. But when she was in middle school, several universities were built in this East City at the same time.

The government builds the city to be an education city. And coincidentally, the land inherited from her mother’s parents is located not far from B university. And now, this university has become the leading university in this country and the surrounding area to be boosted economically.

When massive construction took place in this city, the value of her house rose several times. Many companies began to build apartments and office buildings near her home. Her mother often received offers from wealthy people who wanted to buy their house and land. Because the location of their house is very strategic, at a crossroads. They are interested in buying to build luxury apartments.

After discussion, Rose asked her mother to sell some of the land. And keep the rest of the land to build new buildings for rent. Her mother agreed. They received a lot of money to start their new lives.

They built a 3-story building with R Mini Mart on the ground floor and rented it out as a Coffee Shop on the second floor. It has been five years since this building was built. Her mother’s business, R Mini Mart, is good enough to provide regular income to use in their daily lives. This business even frees her mother from having to work another job.

Her mother, who is wise in financial management, was finally able to create a minimarket which became a relatively large source of income for them. Now, they no longer live in hardship but have had enough. Sales turnover of R mini-mart currently reaches $ 50,000 to $60,000 per month.

Still holding her savings book, Rose took a deep breath when calculating the funds needed to start her business after moving to the capital. When the calculation was done, she realized something.

"I’m still short of money! If I want to make a quick profit in stock trading, at least I need $1 Million...I need more money!"

But where?

She wanted to borrow from her mother, but if she did that, her mother would surely ask what the purpose was. She didn’t want her mother to know that she was planning to enter the stock market and become a swing trader.

As Rose was lost in her thoughts. Suddenly a bell rang.

She gasped. Quickly she glanced at the clock. She smiled because Evan had previously said he would come at precisely 10 o’clock.

It must be Evan! She thought.

In a hurry, she ran towards the main door. She can’t wait to meet Evan. There is a sense of longing that she feels deep in her heart. It feels weird, but she likes it.

Before opening the door, she made sure her hair was neatly tied. After calming her heart, she slowly opened the door.

Rose was utterly shocked. Because it wasn’t Evan. In front of her, Dustin is standing there, the man she hated so much.

Chapter 12: Uninvited Guest

"Hai Babe!" Dustin smiles, looking at Rose’s shocking face. "Why are you looking at me like you saw a ghost?" He laughed while pinching her cheeks gently. Making Rose flinch. She immediately stepped back and held her cheek while glaring at him. She felt nauseous because of this bastard’s touch.

"What are you doing here, Dustin?" She was annoyed when Dustin came to her house uninvited.

"Wow! Babe...you are indeed different!" His brow furrowed as he looked at Rose more closely.

He continued his words after not receiving any reply from Rose instead of glaring like she wanted to skin him alive. "You look different from Rose, I know. Why do you change a lot, babe? Before you never raised your voice and glared at me like this...are you really Rose Wilson, the nice and sweet girl I know?" Dustin took a step forward to stroke Rose’s hair but Rose pushed him so hard that he almost fell.

"Rose!?"

Rose clenched her fists in frustration. However, she refrained from showing disgust to Dustin, or he would become seriously suspicious of her.

After pushing Dustin away from the door, Rose immediately steps forward and closes the door behind her. She can’t let this asshole enter her house. What’s more, Evan will come soon, he could misunderstand if he saw Dustin in her home.

"Dustin! Tell me, what do you want? This is the first time you have come knocking on my house without notice? Is there something important you want to talk to me about?" She asked impatiently.

"You don’t even want me to come into your house?" Dustin asks while creasing his brow in shock because Rose pushes him away and does not allow him to enter her house.

"I’m sorry... I can’t let you in. No one is in the house. My mother is away....." Rose uses her mother as an excuse to get Dustin to believe in her. "You know my mother, right? She taught me not to accept a man visiting my house if I’m alone...." Rose smirked forcedly. "We can sit over there...." Rose pointed to the seating area in the outdoor garden, near the stairs.

After sitting opposite each other, Rose tried to calm her mind so she could contain her emotions that were now ready to explode. She didn’t want to show her anger because, after all, it was younger Dustin who was in front of her, not old Dustin, who killed her. But she is trying to avoid him as much as possible. She didn’t want to have anything to do with this bastard anymore.

"Rose...you look changed since yesterday. What’s wrong?" Dustin can’t help but ask. Since last night he couldn’t sleep because his thoughts of Rose were no longer the same as the Rose he knew. She always replies in a flash to short messages he sends. She also would call him in the morning to ask if he had breakfast? She changed a lot.

Now, he is even more afraid of losing her. His fear starts when he sees her kiss, Evan Collins. He was worried to imagine that Rose and Evan were now a couple. All the way from his house to Rose’s, he convinced himself that Rose just wanted to make him jealous.

"Did I?" Rose panicked a little because Dustin was suspicious of her change in attitude.

"Yup! Why?" Dustin brought his head closer. Trying to look closer at Rose’s face. His action made Rose uncomfortable. She pulled back, trying to get away from him.

"I’m not! I’m still the same. It was you who changed!" Dustin knit his brown, confused by her words. "This is the first time you came up here, Dustin. Why did you come?" Rose didn’t want to linger with Dustin. She didn’t want Evan to meet him.

"Because there’s something important I want to tell you, Rose...." Dustin smiles while crossing his legs and casually leans back on the chair.

"Dustin, I can’t chat with you for long. I still have a lot to do in my house...so you better say it now!"

Dustin was taken aback by Rose’s words. She has indeed changed so much!

Why does she seem to hate me so much? Did I do something to make her angry like this?

He feels like his head is hurt just thinking about it all. Silently he took a deep sigh while staring at her beautiful hazel eyes, which used to always sparkle when he saw them. Those sparkles are no longer visible, replaced with an unfriendly glare.

"I Love You, Rose! Be my girlfriend...." Dustin finally told her what he wanted to say. He tried to tell her all night, but her cell phone was out of reach. He had no choice but to come here and say it directly.

Rose was stunned to hear Dustin’s confession.

Instantly, she wanted to laugh because it felt too funny. Still, clearly in her mind, this lowly asshole making out with Emily the slut, now, he expresses his love to her?

What a joke!

She would not give this filthy man a chance.

"Babe... you should answer it now." Dustin smiles, looking at Rose, who seems mesmerized by him. He felt happy. Because Rose is fascinated and wavered by his sudden confession.

He knows it. Rose’s change of attitude towards him was only a form of protest. He could already guess that Rose’s closeness to Evan is because Rose just wanted to make him jealous.

"Damn it, Rose! No need to do that. I already wanted to express my love for you after our success in the singing audition." He said in his heart.

A faint smile appeared on Dustin’s face while waiting for his girl to say something...

"Dustin..." Rose’s soft voice made Dustin even happier. He smiled sweetly while looking into her beautiful hazel eyes. "I’m sorry Dustin, I can’t accept your love..." Rose stopped her words because suddenly she saw Dustin laugh.

Has he lost his mind now?

It felt like Rose wanted to throw this shameless man with her slippers.

Chapter 13: Future Husband

"Hahaha, Rose, I know you will accept me! Now we’re officially a couple, right?" He stood and walked to Rose while stretching out his hand, but he was stunned a second later.

"W-What!? What did you say earlier, Rose?" His voice raises.

"I can not accept your love, Dustin!"

"WHAT? HOW? Haven’t you always liked me?" Dustin’s smiling face instantly turned sour. He sat again in his chair, staring at Rose with a sharp gaze.

"Babe! Don’t be joking around, ok! I know I took too long to return your love, so I apologize. But, please stop pranking me like this. We are now a couple, right, Rose?"

Rose was utterly speechless with this thick-faced Dustin.

"Dustin, have you ever heard the words; Human patience has a limit?"

Dustin narrowed his eyes, "Yes! So what?"

"My patience waiting for you and letting you walk all over me is over, Dustin!" Rose took a deep sigh before she continued her words, "I realized all this time I don’t really like you. My crush on you is just a form of my foolishness. Yes, I’m too stupid to have a crush on you since high school till now...." Rose laughed, remembering how stupid she was to like someone who never genuinely liked her. Luckily she was given a second chance to come back to correct her silly mistakes.

"Rose! Are you serious about what you said?" He starts to agitate.

"Absolutely!" She stared him in the eyes. "The past few days, I’ve been thinking a lot...finally, I decided to stop liking you. And try to open my heart to someone who has really genuinely liked me. Someone who has great respect for me...." Rose’s heart fluttered as Evan’s handsome face flashed through her mind.

The first time she came back to this new life, she realized that she had been so blind to ignore Evan, who had really liked her. Since yesterday her heart started to feel foreign feelings every time she saw Evan’s blue ocean eyes and heard his sincere words.

Dustin clenched his fists in exasperation.

What he feared turned out to be true. Rose changed. She stops like him and chooses another man.

He can’t accept this.

He vows silently to use any means necessary to snatch Rose back into his arms. He can’t allow Evan to take Rose from him!

"Babe... I know you’re upset right now. But, please think clearly again. We have known each other since high school. I know very well that you like me so much. I’m sorry if I have never expressed my feelings for you all this time. But, hey... you know, right? I’ve never been close to any other woman except for you."

Rose couldn’t help but stand up from her seat. She was tired of talking to Dustin. The longer she talked to him, the more annoyed her heart was remembering her past life.

"Dustin, I’m sorry. I don’t want to remember what had happened between us in the past. What I said earlier was clear. I’ve stopped liking you, and now I like someone else..." Rose turned her body and walked to go straight to her house, but Dustin grabbed her hand tightly before she could walk away.

She was stunned and looked back to see him.

"What are you doing, Dustin?"

"Wait, Rose! We’re not done talking yet."

"Dustin! Let go of my hand..." Rose immediately felt sick to the touch of this filthy man. Before she wanted to pull her hand, she suddenly felt someone take her other hand. Rose was stunned. In a hurry, she looked back, and she was shocked because Evan was standing right behind her. When her eyes met him, at that moment, she felt like there was a hurricane in her heart.

"Let go of her hand. Now!" Evan’s cold voice took Rose by surprise. She saw Evan now staring sharply at Dustin. His face looked so calm, but she could feel how fast his heartbeat was.

"E-Evan..." Rose worried Evan would misunderstand her after seeing Evan hold her hand.

Evan ignores Rose. He sends his deadly warning to this stupid Dustin with his sharp dagger gaze. "Are you taking it off by yourself, or are you waiting for me to use violence on you?" Another stern voice left Dustin with no choice but to let go of Rose’s hand.

"Who are you!?" Dustin felt annoyed. He could only deliberate and ask about Evan’s identity. In fact, Dustin knows him so well; the man in front of him is Evan Collins, one person that no one can take lightly. He is the best student in their college, and rumor has said Evan is the son of a wealthy family from the capital. He can’t mess with Evan. The consequences are maybe dire.

"Are you alright?" Evan ignores Dustin’s question; instead, he gently pulls Rose into his embrace and asks her with great caring.

"Umm... I’m fine. I’m sorry you had to witness all of this. I hope..."

"Don’t say anything. Just go inside...wait for me there." Evan said while stroking her hair gently.

Rose, who was still in Evan’s arms, immediately panicked. She was worried that Evan would fight with Dustin. She didn’t want Evan to get his hands dirty because of scumbag Dustin.

"Evan...What would you do?"

Evan smiled when he saw Rose’s panicked eyes looking at him. "Don’t worry, I just want to speak with him. If you want to hear, you can stay here...."

"I will stay here!" She can’t let Evan fight with Dustin. After all, this is her fight. She had to settle with Dustin.

"Fine!" Evan said, then looked at Dustin with a sharp look as if he wanted to beat Dustin with his eyes. "Do you want to know who I am?" Evan smirks before continuing his words,

"I’m Rose’s future husband. And who are you?" Evan’s words made Dustin almost fall from the shock.

"What!? They are engaged? How could it be?" Dustin speaks in his mind. He couldn’t believe all of this.

Chapter 14: Son In Law

Dustin’s hateful feelings nearly exploded when he saw Rose still in Evan’s arms. His patience was almost gone. But, he tried to contain his anger, not wanting Rose to hate him even more.

"Rose, is this man said true?"

Rose was still shocked by Evan’s words. Just a moment ago, Evan said he is her future husband?

Gosh!

This man is so fast, huh! He is very similar to her mother, who has claimed Evan as her son-in-law. She could only laugh in her heart while looking at Dustin, staring at her sharply.

"Yes! Evan Collins is my future husband." Rose said loudly and confidently.

"That’s why I said earlier I can’t accept your Love. Dustin, you better go now and...." Rose clenched her fists tightly, holding back her emotions, "In the future, if you see me, please ignore me and never contact me again. I will never accept your call or reply to your message!"

Dustin is dazed, hearing how savage Rose’s words are. He still couldn’t believe all this had happened to him. And it happened so fast. The woman who had a crush on him suddenly stopped liking him, and now she was in another man’s arms.

How could he accept this blow?

No matter how much he wanted Rose to come back to him. He couldn’t do that now. He could see how serious Rose was with what she said.

"Rose... I know that right now you are very angry with me. But, I hope you think carefully about your choice. I will wait for you..." Dustin took a deep sigh while holding his anger. "And, I can’t promise you, I will never contact or ignore you. We have been close friends since high school. How could I do that to you?" His sour expression could express how angry he is now.

Rose was speechless with Dustin’s shamelessness. She could only curse him in her heart.

"Evan, Let’s go... mother will be home soon." Rose ignored Dustin and pulled Evan into the house.

"Wow! You brought flowers and cake?" Rose was surprised to see a bouquet of white carnations and cake. She helped Evan bring the cake, and they both entered her house without glancing at Dustin. Rose could sense that Dustin was staring blankly but sinisterly at them.

"ROSE! I won’t give up on you!" Dustin screamed in agony and rage. Then, with a sullen expression, Dustin left Rose’s house. In Dustin’s mind, he vows to come back again to pursue Rose until she accepts him or no one can have her.

Meanwhile, as soon as Evan entered the house, he immediately followed Rose into the spacious open space. A family room with a huge white sofa connected to a dining area and a minimalist kitchen. The open space area was quite big and bright because almost all sides of the room were only closed by a large French window that led to the garden outside.

It felt like he was not on the third floor because Rose’s house is surrounded by a terrace garden with a unique design to hide their house from the tall buildings surrounding the house.

He likes the modern interior design of Rose’s house. Because, even though the house is modern, it doesn’t feel stiff with some fresh flowers in the beautiful crystal vase in several spots. He also saw the paintings of flowers hanging on some white walls.

And when his eyes saw several photos of Rose and her Mother on display cabinets, he smiled. All of Rose and her mother’s photos look so beautiful. What’s more, there is an old picture of Rose when she was a toddler. There was also a picture of Rose when she was a teenager. Both look adorable.

"Evan... Why do you bring flowers and cake?" Rose asks while placing the cake on the kitchen island. Evan also follows her to the kitchen and puts the flower.

"This flower for your mom..."

Rose was stunned. When Evan asked her about her mother’s favorite flower, she thought he was just casually asking. But now Rose could see how he really meant what he said. And bought her mother’s favorite White Carnation.

"What about me? Didn’t I get flowers too?" Rose looked at Evan, who was now standing by her side. She pouted on purpose to tease him.

"I bring you cake...don’t you like cake more than flowers?"

"Yeah! But I feel jealous of my mother... she got a beautiful flower from a handsome young man."

Evan chuckled as he watched his girlfriend pouting. She looked so adorable and made him want to kiss her small cherry lips.

"Gorgeous...I will buy you the florist store if you ask me to. How about that?" Evan asked as the two of them sat on the sofa.

Rose’s eyes delight, looking at Evan, "Are you serious!"

"I am. I feel like I have known you for a thousand years, Rose! So I could confidently guess that you, Love, are more interested in the Florist Shop than buying flowers. Am I right?"

"Hahaha, you’re absolutely right! I don’t really like romantic things like that. It’s just a waste of money. Better give me the Florist shop at a strategic location with a strong internet presence, and I will triple your money...." Evan stroked the top of her hair because he couldn’t resist her cuteness.

As they talked, they didn’t notice that Molly had returned.

Molly just stood in the entrance, smiled, looking at her baby daughter, and Evan teased each other.

"Son-in-Law, are you coming?"

Molly’s voice made Evan and Rose startled. The two of them quickly stood up and looked at her.

"Aunty..." Evan greeted Molly. When he saw her bring so many bags in her hand, he immediately walked fast and took them all. "Let me carry for you, Auntie...."

Rose and Molly feel pleased with Evan’s quick reaction.

"Future Son-In-Law, thank you...." Molly liked Evan even more. As a young man, he had great respect for elders. His demeanor and manner of speaking were different from the young people his age she had known.

Chapter 15: Marry Her

Molly asks Evan to bring the bag into the kitchen. She has to cook quickly, not wanting to starve her son-in-law. But when she reached the kitchen, her eyes fell on the bouquet of her favorite flowers, White Carnation.

"Wow! Son-in-law, you brought this?" She takes the flower and smells it.

"Yes, Aunt...do you like this flower?"

"Sure! This is my favorite flower." Molly looks at Evan with a questioning look, "How do you know my favorite flower?"

Evan smiled while glancing at Rose. She is now sitting on one of the chairs on the island while eating the cake.

"Rose told me...."

Rose, busy eating cake, suddenly stopped when she heard Evan say her name. She looks at him but only for a second. She turns her gaze again to the cake, embarrassed because her mother calls Evan her future son-in-law.

She wanted to ask her mother to stop calling Evan like that. But now, her mother still talked with Evan. She could only take a deep sigh while continuing to eat her cake. Then, an idea pops up in her mind when her eyes look at the chocolate cake.

She smiled. She immediately turned her gaze to her mother.

"Mother... Evan, also bring a cake. Do you want some?" She tried to attract her mother’s attention with a chocolate cake that tasted really good. This was the first time she had eaten this heavenly taste cake. She believed her mother would like the cake too.

Molly is surprised when she notices there’s a cake on the table. She instantly felt terrible for Evan because he brought so many gifts. What’s more, she saw the cake brand, which surprised her even more. The cake was quite expensive. How could Evan buy such a costly cake?

Buying this cake is not easy, but it must be ordered a few days before, and the queue slot is quite long. How did that boy get this cake so fast? Molly was impressed.

"Son-in-law, next time, you don’t need to bring anything if you come here. You can come anytime. Just think of this house as your own home...." Molly’s words make Evan feel happy. But Rose’s reaction was different.

She almost fell from her chair to hear her mother’s words.

"Gosh! Mom, can you slow down a little bit!? You already called him son-in-law. Now you want him to treat our house like his?" Rose could only scold her mother in her heart while trying to cast a spell on her mind to stay sane.

"Aunty, I feel happy to bring a cake for Rose and you...."

"Son-in-law..." Before Molly could finish her words, she could feel her daughter pull her hand. Molly was surprised and drew her head closer to Rose. She frowned as if to ask her daughter; Why did I do wrong?

"Mom, stop calling Evan son-in-law!" Rose whispered to her mother. She was starting to worry that Evan would think her mother was too much.

"Why? Are you shy?" However, despite being confused by her daughter’s move, she could feel her daughter must be feeling awkward.

"Evan will feel uncomfortable, mom! Please, stop calling him that...." Rose glared at her mother because her mother laughed instead of understanding what she asked. Jee!

"Rose, I’m okay with that name!" Rose and Molly were startled to hear Evan’s voice behind them. At once, they looked back and smiled at him.

He continued, " I’m delighted when aunty called me, son-in-law..." Evan looks at Molly with a friendly smile. "Aunty, I will not make you wait long. I will marry your daughter soon..."

Rose almost choked with her chocolate cake, hearing Evan’s sudden confession.

"Evan..."

Evan smiled when he saw the look in Rose’s eyes that seemed surprised by his words.

"I mean it, Rose. I don’t want to date you for long. I seriously want to marry you."

Suddenly Molly feels warm inside her heart when she hears Evan’s words. Like every mother, she feels happy and pleased when someone finally loves her daughter sincerely and is willing to marry her soon. Even more pleased when this someone is a good, kind-hearted man.

"I know..." Rose smiles back at Evan. "But... are you currently proposing to me?"

Evan froze.

"Rose! No...no...this is not. Hahaha... This is not my proposal." Evan could only stroke his nape, feeling awkward. He blamed himself for speaking too much. "Well, I will propose to you romantically and properly..." He took a deep sigh.

Seeing Evan flustered, Molly came to the rescue.

"Daughter, take Evan to see your messy room. Maybe if my future son-in-law sees your messy room, he will consider marrying you." Molly laughed when she saw her daughter’s sullen expression. She immediately makes an excuse to cook their lunch.

"Is what Auntie said true?" Evan asks while following Rose to the corridor that leads them to the back area. He just realized that Rose’s house was divided into two units. The front and back are separated by an indoor garden that looks stunning.

Soon they entered the back area and went straight to the multipurpose room. There’s a three-seater sofa facing the large flat-screen TV. And on the other side, there is a large bookcase filled with books, reading chairs, and a reasonably large study table. There is also a Glass Door refrigerator in that room filled with cold drinks and fresh fruit and cake inside.

Evan could see in this room where Rose spent her time.

"Evan, this back area is specifically my place. While my mother controlled the front side. I used to spend time studying and relaxing here. And as for that door, that is my bedroom." Rose looked at Evan, who was standing beside her. "Do you want to see my messy bedroom?"

"Sure! I want to see if what your mother said is true...." He chuckled.

"Would you run away if you saw my room was really messy?"

"Sure! I sure will let you tidy it first!" He followed her to her bedroom with a big grin and slight worries.

"Looks like you have to be disappointed, Evan. My room is tidy. You can’t run away from me now...." She walked into her bedroom while laughing, remembering her mother’s words earlier.

Evan stopped right in front of the open door. He smiles lovingly hearing Rose’s words.
