Ch. 196..200: Reclaiming My Broken Luna Chapter 196-200
Chapter 196: Evil Thoughts
Asha's POV
"Asha, you shouldn't talk like that! What if others heard you? You're putting yourself in trouble," My brother snapped at me angrily.
I rolled my eyes and averted my gaze from him. My brother had always been so righteous and modest, which is the opposite of me.
"I know, you had always been the good and perfect sibling while I'll always be the evil one. I'm sorry if I couldn't be like you!" I rebutted with a scowl on my face.
Andros stared at me with a look of surprise in his eyes. He was not expecting that I would suddenly burst out like that.
I huffed and crossed my arms as I turned away, feeling guilty instantly. I shouldn't have pinned my anger on my brother. This isn't his fault.
My brother suddenly shook his head. "If you really think that I am good and perfect, then you're wrong. Sometimes, my thoughts could turn evil too."
I turned to look at him when his words caught my attention. My brother had always been good and perfect in my eyes. I don't believe in his words. He's just being too humble again. Growing up, my brother has always been a filial son and a loving brother. My brother always honoured our parents, while I was a rebellious child who brought trouble to my parents.
I was also disrespectful towards my brother. When I was little, I used to be jealous and envious of him. Just because he is the eldest male, he gets to inherit the Pack by right.
Meanwhile, I was pushed aside, and my potential wasn't recognised. In my parent's eyes, Andros is the only person who could rule the Pack.
No matter how much I did well in school, it never really mattered to them. All my parents did was make sure that I wouldn't be able to challenge my brother's position in the future.
My parents prohibited me from having the same education as my brother. I was never allowed to learn anything about the Pack. This led me to hate my brother because I used to be so ambitious.
It was my dream to become the Luna of the Pack, but as I grew up and became more mature, I realized how stupid and selfish I was. I failed to see that my brother really deserved to rule the Pack, not just because the title is his by birthright but also because of his good character.
I could never compare to a righteous person like him. With him as our ruler in the future, our Pack would surely be blessed.
"What kind of evil thoughts could a person like you possibly have?" I questioned him mockingly, not believing that a person like him could be so evil.
"Just this morning... I resented Astrid," my brother spoke with difficulty as he forced the words out of his mouth.
My eyes widened a bit when I heard his confession. I thought he really liked Astrid.
"You know how everyone is rushing for her introduction ceremony's preparation Everyone was just given a week to finish the preparation and accommodate hundreds of
important guests in our Pack of not
Everyone is in a rush because of her, and she couldn't even care less about the preparations," Andros
released all his frustrations.
"Before I went here, I was with my father to check her dress for the event. That dress was hers, but she didn't even bother to check it with us. I'm starting to see that you are right. She truly doesn't appreciate everything that her father has done for her. "See? I told you so!" I exclaimed.
Finally, my brother is starting to see the truth. I couldn't blame him, though; he was always away from the Pack. There's no time for him to know Astrid.
"I know... If only she was there, our sewing department wouldn't have to waste more expensive materials to create a new dress."
My brows furrowed at his reply. "What do you mean?"
"I don't even know. Our father
refused to accept the dress just because it's color red. Our seamstresses spent day and night to finish her dress for such a short time and some of them were still exhausted, but dad forced them to make a new one. The sewing manager made it clear that they might not even finish the dress on
time," my brother explained, sending
me into deep thought.
"Why would Dad do that?" Dad has always been so practical. He wouldn't waste so many precious materials for unworthy reasons. What's wrong with red?" I asked, since it didn't seem right that Father would do something like that.
"I don't know and I didn't dare to ask.
Right now, everything is on that
dress. Astrid won't be able to walk down the carpet without her precious outfit. I just wonder how the sewing department would be
able to finish the dress on time," my
brother replied with stress etched on the lines of his face.
The corner of my lips lifted a bit when a thought came to mind. I finally found the answer that I was looking for.
"Don't worry brother, I'm sure the sewing department will finish their task on time. They are the most talented and efficient seamstress in the Pack. This will be just a challenge to them," I answered, giving my brother assurance. Since everything depends on this dress, the opportunity I've been looking for has finally come.
Chapter 197: Damned Kid
Giselle's POV
I watched with rapt attention as my three year old son, Ryker, sat cross-legged on the plush rug, his small hands meticulously arranging and rearranging the brightly colored blocks before him.
My trusted assistant, Rhya, stood at the far corner, carefully watching Ryker to be there in the moment that he needed help.
I sighed as I rested my chin on my palm. "It's a rare moment of peace, isn't it?" I whispered, my gaze not leaving Ryker's enraptured form.
Ryker looked like a sweet little boy as he played with his toy blocks with laser-focused movements. Everyone who would stare at him right now would never imagine that he is actually a spawn of the devil.
Ryker has been diagnosed with autism since birth. Small things could easily set him off, and it's hard to calm him down when he holds tantrums.
I and my two attendants aren't enough to subdue him when he bursts into a fit. There were times when I just wanted to tear my ears off because of his loud and violent yelling.
He yells so loud that I'm sure even the people outside the Packhouse could hear him. However, he doesn't communicate with us. Ever since Ryker was born, I've never heard him utter a word.
I thought he was mute or deaf, but how could that be when he could wail and yell so loud every time that he gets upset?
Because of Ryker's inability to speak, it is so hard to get through to him. Sometimes, I think he just doesn't want to talk to me because he knows that I'm not his mother. However, that's impossible. How could he know the truth? He was just a small baby when he got switched.
"Ryker is well-behaved today. I'm glad that it pleases you, Luna," Rhya replied with a solemn nod after she heard my question.
"Of course, as long as it's peace and quiet, there's nothing more that I ask," I answered with great relief.
Having peace and quiet in my room has become so rare because of Ryker. As his mother, it is my job to take care of him, which is why I had no choice but to keep him here.
Killian might suspect something wrong if I don't show love to his son. I can't afford him to have any suspicions for me anymore.
Besides, having Ryker close to me means more opportunities to see Killian throughout the day. Killian is so devoted to his son. Whenever he is free, he always chooses to spend his time with his son. "Luna! Luna!" An Omega came rushing in with a panicked look on her face.
Startled by the omega who rushed in, Ryker's blocks tumbled to the floor, and he erupted into a distressed wail.
As soon as his ear-piercing screams hurt my ears, I stood up and pointed an angry finger at the omega who shattered the peace. “Look at what you've done!" My anger was palpable ast yelled at her angrily.
Rhya, who is in charge of babysitting Ryker, rushed towards him without hesitation. She gathered Ryker into her arms, rocking him gently as she murmured soothing words.
However, it wasn't enough to pacify
Ryker. It always took a painstaking effort to calm that child down, and always have no patience for it, so always leave the child-rearing to my attendants except when Killian is around.
"Please forgive me, Luna, but this is an emergency. I rushed in here as soon as I heard the news." The omega knelt before me as she asked for forgiveness. "What is it?!" I snapped at her. With a steadying breath, I pushed aside my anger.
"It's an invitation letter from the Shadowfang Pack," the omega spoke as she chased her breath. "The Shadowfang Pack is holding เล grand event I heard and they have invited all the other leaders of the Pack as well. I heard that Alpha Killian agreed to come. Have he said anything."
Hearing her words, fury was ignited within me. "When was this? How come I haven't heard anything?" I snapped as I composed myself together.
Indeed, this is an important news! How come Killian had never told me anything about it? Didn't he promise me that he would try to forget Astrid and do his best to be a good husband to me? Why would he hide this thing from me?
"I heard it was-"
"Can't you shut that damn kid's mouth!" I yelled at Rhya angrily, who was carrying Ryker in her arms.
I was talking with someone about something important, and I could barely hear anything except for that damn kid's voice.
Ryker was so surprised when I yelled that he momentarily stopped yelling. However, after he recovered, his cries turned louder than the last time.
"I'm sorry, Luna. I'll try to keep him busy outside," Rhya answered with her head lowered without stopping from rocking Ryker back and forth.
"Just make sure that Killian wouldn't see you. What would he think if he saw you taking care of Ryker instead of me?" I warned her.
"Yes, Luna," Rhya answered before leaving the room with Ryker in her arms. Ryker's voice slowly disappeared as they got farther from us. That damn kid always knew how to ruin everything. He always knows when to make a scene and make things difficult for me.
Chapter 198: An Alpha’s Promise
Giselle's POV
The air hung heavy around me as my anger pulsed through my veins. As soon as I heard that Killian was doing something behind my back again, I instantly rushed to his office to confront him.
I stood before Killian's door, my back straight and my jaw set in a line of unyielding resolve.
The guard, a young man with a face still too smooth to hold the weight of authority, stood before me. His hands hovered nervously near the door handle as he faced me.
He must be a newly recruited Pack Warrior, and he was assigned to guard Killian's room to keep everyone outside.
"I need to speak to Killian," I spoke, my voice a low, icy rumble. It wasn't a request. It was a demand, a command delivered with the chilling certainty of a queen issuing a decree.
My words were laced with a chilling coldness, a warning that I was not to be trifled with, as I fixed my gaze on the mahogany door.
I could feel his palpable fear as he stared through me. I could see the sweat beading on his forehead before he answered me. "L-Luna, the Alpha is currently discussing Pack matters with Beta Ryder inside. He s-specifically ordered me n-not to let a-anyone inside," his voice turned softer and softer until he reached the end of his sentence.
"What did you say?" I finally met his gaze with one of my brows raised,
The guard lowered his head. He dared not meet my gaze, afraid that he might ignite my anger.
"Y-You c-can w-wait o-out h-here L-luna. I-I'll i-inform t-the A-alpha of y-your a-arrival," The guard's stuttering turned so bad that he looked like he was going to faint already.
There's no way that I'm going to stand out here and wait! So, I pushed him aside and barged inside. The door burst open, catching everyone's attention.
My eyes that usually sparkled with warmth, were now twin pools of fury as I stormed inside with rage silently seeping off me, pushing the air out of the room.
Ryder, instinctively sensing the shift in the atmosphere, rose from his seat and moved aside, his own apprehension now tinged with a touch of fear.
With a silent and almost predatory grace, I moved past him with purposeful and heavy steps.
A thunderclap of sound echoed in the room when I slammed my fist on Killian's mahogany desk.
"You're going to meet with Astrid?" I seethed out in almost a whisper.
Killian, who was caught in a crossfire, could only look at me in silence. "Who told you about this?" Killian calmly asked me, unbothered by my fury.
I scoffed. I couldn't believe he would
ask me this instead of rushing to give me an explanation. "Killian, you promise me and your son that you would forget her! What is this? Are you really going to betray your own yourown son?" I spoke exasperatingly as I stared right through him.
Killian's jaw fell open when he heard my accusations. His eyes snapped to Beta Ryder, who was still inside the office listening to us.
"I'll take my leave, Alpha," Beta Ryder interrupted before he walked out of the room. Once he was gone, Killian finally stood up and met my gaze fully.
"What are you talking about? The Shadowfang Pack sent us a letter. Everyone is coming, so of course I had to come. This had nothing to do with Astrid!" Killian shot back as if I was going to believe his words.
"Don't fool me, Killian!" I pointed a finger at him. "If this really had nothing to do about Astrid, then you should have told me about it. I wouldn't have to hear it from someone else!" I snapped at him. Killian's brows furrowed. "I was about to inform you, but I was held up by Beta Ryder who came to discuss something with me."
I fell silent when he finally explained himself. Still, I stared at him with an accusing gaze, refusing to back down.
"I gave you and our son a promise, Giselle. An Alpha can't break his words, how much more a promise that he made to his own son?" Killian questioned me, robbing me of speech. My chest heaved as I stared at him without any trust in him.
Killian sighed when I still didn't drop my accusing gaze. "I know you wouldn't trust me. I've done so many wrong things in the past, it's expected of you to suspect me," Killian spoke guiltily. His words slowly dissipated my anger.
"I've already decided that you and
Ryker would be coming with me at the ceremony. If you don't trust me, you can watch me yourself. With you and my son by my side, I will always be reminded of my promise," Killian spoke firmly to assure my suspicions.
I let out a deep breath after I have finally calmed down. "Fine," I answered in surrender. "Ryker and would come with you. You should be wary of yourself. Don't do something
that would make me lost my trust in
you."
"I know," Killian answered assuringly. "Don't worry, I will try my best to distance myself from Astrid."
"Just make sure that you'll do that. If I saw you act otherwise, I will take your son away and I will make sure that you will never see him again," I spoke threateningly.
Chapter 199: Baby Blues
Giselle's POV
"Luna, are you sure about this? Are you really going to bring Ryker with you to the Shadowfang Pack?" One of my attendants asked me to make me think twice about my decision.
I had just gotten back from Killian's office after I had confronted him. We both agreed that both Ryker and I would come with him to the Shadowfang Pack.
"Of course. As his mother, I can't leave him behind here. We don't know how many days we would be staying at the Shadowfang Pack. What would Killian think of me as a mother if I could bear to leave my son behind for days?" I shot back at my attendant, who dared to question my decision.
"Luna, I don't mean it that way, but Ryker could be so intolerable sometimes. I'm just afraid that if you bring him there, he might cause trouble for you and the Alpha," The omega replied sincerely with her head bowed.
I sighed. It's one of the things that have been troubling my mind, too. If I had the choice, of course, I would rather leave this annoying kid behind.
Ever since that child was a baby, I've been tolerating all his tantrums and antics. I've never had a rest since I've had that child.
It would have been a nice vacation if I could go to the Shadowfang Pack without that child anywhere near me.
"Rhya," I called my trusted attendant, who has been in charge of taking care of Rhyker since he was a baby. "You should also pack your things. You're coming with us. I want you to take care of Ryker and make sure that he won't cause troubles for us." Rhya's eyes went wide when I suddenly called her attention. "Yes, Luna," Rhya answered curtly without any hesitations.
"Make sure you always keep your eyes on Ryker and do your job properly. If you or Ryker commit any mistakes, your life will be on the line," I warned her to make sure she'd do her job properly
"The Shadowfang Pack is a big and powerful Pack and we are going to meet a lot of powerful and important people out there. We are not just going there with our names, we would go there to represent our Pack also," I reminded her so she'd know the weight of our responsibility there.
The attendant who had questioned me first didn't dare to question me further after she heard my plans.
I glanced at Ryker, who was standing in the middle of the room, staring at me with his laser-focused eyes without any expressions on his face.
"Why are you looking at me like that?!" I snapped at him, feeling unnerved by his gaze.
However, Ryker continued to stare at me unmoved, as if he didn't understand the question I asked him.
What should I expect from a dimwit like him? Of course, he wouldn't understand anything that I said. He doesn't even know how to speak. He is born stupid and unable to comprehend anything.
"Luna, don't mind the child. It must be his autism acting up," Rhya spoke up to defend the child when she saw the anger that flared in my eyes as I stared at the little child.
I huffed in dissatisfaction and
slumped in my seat. "We are so lucky that Killian could accept him as his son even if he is born a moron.feel bad for the Pack and for Killian for giving birth to a stupid child hope someday I couldbear Kiffian another son that would be suitable to be the future Alpha of the Pack," I spoke with my brows
pressed together in worry.
Of course, the Pack needs a future Alpha, and Killian also needs an heir. Luckily, Ryker is not qualified for the Alpha position. That means my real son is going to be the Alpha.
A cunning smile crossed my lips as I fell deep into my thoughts.
I raised an eyebrow at Ryker, who kept staring at me with dead eyes.
"You are right, Luna. You are still very young. You can still bear a lot of heirs for our Alpha," one of my attendants agreed with a smile.
After waiting for just a few hours, the things we would be bringing with us to the Shadowfang Pack have been packed.
I carried Ryker in my arms while Rhya carried our luggage as I went out to meet with Killian so we could go to the Shadowfang Pack together.
"Ryker!" A bright smile instantly appeared on Killian's face when he saw his son.
He immediately took him from my arms and pecked a kiss on his son's cheek. "How have you been doing Are you excited?" Killian asked his son excitedly, even though he knew he wouldn't give him an answer.
Ryker just stared at him with the same eyes he used to stare at me earlier. However, this time, a smile crossed his features, and it was completely enough to make Killian feel satisfied.
"He doesn't show it, but I'm sure
Ryker is happy," I smiled as I joined them. "Byker has always been staying inside the Packhouse. I'm
sure he would be happy to see
something new."
Killian chuckled happily at my words. "I heard that the Shadowfang Pack is huge. I'm sure you would be happy there, son," Killian spoke to his precious child.
I stared at the joy etched in Killian's face while it lasted. I only see Killian smile and look genuinely happy when he sees his son.
Only Ryker has the power over his own father.
Chapter 200: Guest’s Arrival
Giselle's POV
I've heard a lot of things about the Shadowfang Pack, but the rumors I heard were nothing compared to what the Shadowfang Pack actually appeared like.
I couldn't believe that such a place would exist in this world. The moment I arrived, I thought I had entered paradise.
I glanced at Killian, who was looking around the Pack with awe written all over his face. None of us has ever been here. We looked like countryside bumpkins who entered the city for the first time. "What Ryker? Do you like what you see?" Killian asked his son, whom he had been carrying in his arms ever since we arrived.
Ryker slowly nodded his head as he stared at his father. Killian laughed happily at his son's response. "Of course, this place is nothing like our Pack," Killian responded with a big smile on his face. Ryker couldn't talk, but he could communicate with us with a nod or a shake of his head.
However, he only communicates with his father. When it comes to us, he never gives us anything that would make it easier for us to understand him. He would also never be this quiet and well-behaved when he's with us. Ryker is always on his best behavior when his father is around. He is just a little child, but he already knows who to suck up for.
"Alpha Killian and Luna Giselle," someone came and welcomed us as soon as we arrived in front of the Shadowfang Pack's Packhouse. "We are pleased to welcome you to our Pack," he bowed his head in respect before us. "My name is Henry, I am the Pack's Accommodation Manager. Please let us accompany you to your room," Henry spoke with a presentable smile.
With a wave of his hand, his men approached us and took our bags to help us.
"What's wrong, Ryker?" Killian asked his son worriedly when he suddenly turned and hugged his father with an upset look on his face.
I glanced at them and worriedly locked gazes with Killian. "You don't want to go inside?" Killian asked him as he placed a comforting hand on his back.
Ryker nodded with his chin on his shoulder.
Killian smiled. "You want to explore outside?"
Ryker nodded more eagerly this time.
"I see. You little kid... you can't wait to explore around, are you?" Killian teased him.
Ryker pulled away from the hug and shyly smiled at her father.
"Don't worry, if this is what Ryker wants then I'll personally show you around the Pack."
"Killian, it's been a journey. We should rest first before going anywhere," I spoke up to try to change his mind.
Ryker glanced at me with an unhappy look on his face.
"It's okay. I'm not that tired. Ryker rarely asks me for anything. Look, you are making him upset," Killian answered.
I sighed. These two fathers and sons are really always against me.
Just as I was about to open my mouth to answer, someone called out behind us. "Alpha Killian, is that you?!" Killian and I turned to look at where the question came from. Killian and I were both surprised when we saw another Alpha of a different Pack approaching us.
"Alpha, how have you been?" Killian asked him, happy to see him.
Killian has been doing business with him. They have an alliance, which is why they are close and happy to see each other.
"I'm fine! It's so great to see you here." his eyes widened, and his smile stretched even wider. "Is this your son?"
Ryker, who is not used to talking to strangers and being the center of attention, suddenly hugged his father in fear.
"Wait a minute, Alpha," Killian excused himself and approached me.
"Giselle, take Ryker first. Can you please show him around the pack for me? I'll catch up with you after this," Killian whispered as he handed Ryker to my arms.
"I'll take care of our son," I whispered back to assure him before Killian went back to his friend to continue their conversation.
I sighed as I carried Ryker in my
arms. I became exhausted after the
1.n
travel; I couldn't believe that this kid would cause a delay in my rest. Instead of resting in our room, still had to show him around the Pack.
"Luna!" Rhya rushed to us after she finished handling our luggages.
As soon as she arrived, I passed Ryker to her and stretched my arms. "Take care of him, the Alpha commanded that we show him around the Pack," I answered with
an irritated voice. en
Ryker stared at me like he could sense my anger.
"That stupid kid, if he didn't suggested something, I would be resting by now." My eyes turned to narrowed slits as I stared at Ryker.
"Luna, calm down. Ryker is just a little kid. You don't have to worry, I will take care of him myself," Rhya answered as she held Ryker lovingly in her arms.
I rolled my eyes. "Of course, that's your job! It's the reason why you're here anyways."
I followed Rhya as we walked to find a place where Ryker could play until we reached a colorful garden.
Back at the Silvermoon Pack, we also have our own garden. However, our garden is nothing compared to the garden that the Shadowfang Pack has.
The Shadowfang Pack is truly superior in everything
"Ryker! Ryker! Ryker where are you going?! Ryker come back!" Rhya's voice filled the whole garden as she continued shouting.
"What happened?!" I demanded angrily as I approached Rhya. "Where is Ryker?!"
I was just admiring the garden when Rhya had already lost Ryker.
"L-Luna," Rhya's voice trembled as she looked at me with fear on her face. "I had just brought down Ryker to allow him play with the flowers, but I didn't expect that he would run away from me!"
