Ch. 336..340: Reclaiming My Broken Luna Chapter 336-340
Chapter 336: Distance
Killian's POV
It had been days since Ryker had last seen Giselle, and Ryker still hadn't asked a single question about her mother.
At first, I was afraid of what he'd say, dreading the moment he'd look me in the eye and ask, Where's my mother?
I couldn't bring myself to tell him the truth, knowing how much it would break him.
How could I possibly explain to him that Giselle is not her mother, and that she's dead.
In his whole life, Ryker believed that Giselle was his mother - she'd raised him, after all, and he'd known her as nothing else.
I know it would be difficult for him to accept and process the whole truth, and I was trying my best to avoid the confrontation from him.
But now... I'm no longer just worried about Ryker's difficult questions now I wasn't just avoiding the question. I am now worried wondering why he still haven't asked me any question.
In the days that had passed, he hadn't asked even once. Not a word about Giselle.
No concern, no curiosity. Just silence. And it was that silence that was starting to gnaw at me, leaving me both worried and confused.
Is he not worried about Giselle? Doesn't he miss her? Or was he just caught up in his own world that he had completely forgotten about Giselle?
I need to tell this to Astrid as soon as she arrives. I also want to know what she would think about this.
I was deep in thought when my phone buzzed, snapping me out of it. Astrid's name lit up on the screen.
I answered quickly, the hope in my chest rising as I thought she's on her way back.
She said that she'd only stay there for a day.
"Hey," I said, trying to keep the eagerness from my voice. "Are you on your way? I'm not doing anything right now, I can come and fetch you."
I stood up from my seat eager to just run to where she is. The reason why I'm not doing anything is because I can't focus on doing anything. All I could think about was her coming back.
Her voice came through, a bit strained. "I'm sorry, Killian. I won't be able to make it as expected. Something's come up, and I'm...well, I'm a bit tied up right now." Disappointment settled heavily in my chest, but I pushed it down. "Oh. When do you think you'll be back?"
It must be something very important, something that Astrid had to take care on her
own.
She hesitated, her silence saying more than her words. "I don't know. Honestly, I have no idea when I'll be able to return."
The sadness tightened, and for a moment, I wanted to ask her to come back, to tell her I needed her here. But I held back. The last thing Astrid needed was more pressure from me.
"It's alright," I replied, doing my best to sound reassuring. "Just...whenever you need anything, you can call me. I'll be here, ready to help you with whatever you need."
Silence hung between us for a moment. Although I wanted to go to where she is now and help her, I need to control myself and respect her decisions.
I need to trust her in this, even though I missed her. It's only been a few days since we reconciled and confessed to each other and I felt like she is being taken away from me again.
"Thank you, Killian," she replied softly, the warmth in her voice easing the ache just a little.
"Astrid," I began, my voice softer that
I intended before she ends the call. "Come back as soon as you can. Please. I know you need to be where you are right now, but Ryker — he misses you, and I miss you too," I paused, letting her process my words.
I could hear her slow steady breathing through the speaker. "Honsetly, Ryker misses you more than he misses Giselle, and he doesn't even know that you were his real mother yet." I stopped, hoping the gravity of my words would reach her.
"Until now, Ryker still hadn't asked me about Giselle yet, but he had asked a lot about you. Still, we both know that it's just a matter of time. I think itwould be best if we tell her the truth, Astrid, before he starts asking questions."
I fell silent as I awaited Astrid's answer. I was expecting her to be excited or to cry
out with joyful tears even that she could finally tell Ryker that she is his mother and fully connect with him as mother and son.
Instead, I was met with a long pause on the other end of the line. "Astrid, are you still there?" I asked, thinking that maybe she didn't hear me."
“Killian, I.." I could almost hear her thoughts racing inside her head.
"I think it would be best if we wait a bit more," she finally continued.
My brows furrowed. I thought she would be happy. Last time she couldn't wait to tell Ryker the truth.
"I mean... I think it would be best to wait for a few more days. I'll tell Ryker the truth myself, I want to be the one to break the news to him," she answered decisively.
My mouth went shut, not knowing what to say. I waited, thinking that she would explain her reason behind her decision, but she didn't.
"Killian, I got to go. I have a meeting I have to attend to," she spoke urgently.
"Okay... Just don't forget if there's something bothering you, don't hesitate to call me, okay? I love you Astrid."
Chapter 337: The Solution
Astrid's POV
The silence after the call ended was heavier than the words I hadn't spoken.
I remained frozen, clutching the phone as though its weight could tether me to the choices I had made.
Each unspoken truth tightened like a vice around my chest, each lie stealing the air I so desperately needed.
I wanted nothing more than to turn back, to run to Ryker and finally tell him who I really was.
But how could I? How could I be so selfish, so reckless? I knew the truth about my condition - how dangerous and uncertain everything is. How could I let him get close to me, knowing how it will all end?
The thought of Ryker loving me, only to lose me, was unbearable. I couldn't let him go through that pain, the kind of pain that had already hollowed me out.
I knew it too well - the ache of losing someone you'd give anything to keep. The searing, unrelenting agony of losing my husband, the devastation of outliving my child.
I wouldn't wish that torment on anyone, least of all Ryker.
A shiver coursed through me as I stared at my trembling hand, willing it to stay steady. But my composure wavered, the cracks too wide to mend.
Every word I'd said on that call was a lie. There was no urgent matter to attend to. It was all an excuse in my desperate attempt to protect them, to keep distance between us.
It was better this way. Better for them.
If I stayed away, it would be less hard for them to live without me. They wouldn't have to endure the pain of losing me.
I closed my eyes and drew a shaky breath, trying to suppress the storm building inside me. But the ache refused to be buried.
The moment I let go of the phone, the tears came. Hot, relentless, and unyielding, they slipped past the defenses I'd tried so hard to maintain.
I sank to the floor, pressing my hands to my face as the sobs overtook me, my body wracked with grief.
I couldn't hold it in any longer. Every regret, every fear, every longing poured out of me like a dam breaking.
Deep down, all I wanted was to be with them. To savor whatever time I had left.
But I couldn't be selfish-not with their happiness at stake. I couldn't sacrifice their peace for my fleeting joy.
I rose from the floor, collecting myself together through the strength of my resolve.
The weight of my grief is still there, but hope burned brighter inside me, fueled by my determination.
Hope, fragile yet unyielding, blossomed within me.
Even if the odds were slim, even if the path ahead was riddled with uncertainty and hardship, I had to try.
And if I failed if death was the only solution then I could face the end knowing I had done everything I could.
There would be no regrets and in this short life I am given, I would still be grateful for the chance of
knowing the truth, for reconciling.
with Killian, for meeting Ryker life, and knowing who my father
was.

But if I succeeded - if by some

miracle I found a way to defy this et
condition - I would return to them. I would no longer hold back, no longer keep them at arm's length.
I would let them in fully, with no secrets, no lies. And I would cherish every
moment we had, no matter how short or long we have.
Straightening my spine, I walked towards Alpha Theron's office, my footsteps resolute.
I'll speak to him about my decision to stay here and help searching for my cure.
Just as I arrived at the hallway leading to his office, I found him just right outside talking Asha.
I could feel the tension between them even though there's great distance between
us.
I was about to announce my presence, but I felt I have gone at a wrong time.
They were so tense that they haven't even realized I was there.
I was about to turn around to leave when I heard them mention my name.
I froze instantly, my mind growing curious about their conversation Instead of leaving, I chose to stay when I realized that they were talking about me.
Chapter 338: Legitimate Child
Asha's POV
I squared my shoulders as I faced my father, my eyes narrowing at him in anger.
I crossed my arms tightly over my chest, the weight of years of frustration and jealousy boiling to the surface.
My father simply stood before me, his usual composed demeanor tinged with a rare expression of exasperation, but I didn't care. Not anymore
"She doesn't even call you Father!" I spat, my voice trembling with anger.
"Not once in her life has Astrid ever acknowledged you as her father. And yet, you treat her like she's some prized treasure.
Why, Father? Because you feel guilty for neglecting her? She's just your illegitimate child! It's best that she realize she's not special!" I blurted out angrily.
Alpha Theron's jaw tightened, but he didn't speak. That silence — his silence — was what always drove me mad.
He would never defend himself, never justify his actions, as if I were the one being unreasonable. But I wasn't.
"She's ungrateful!" I continued, pacing back and forth as my emotions surged.
"She shows up only when she needs something from you, and you let her. Every single time, you let her.
You bend over backward for her, giving her everything, while I-" My voice broke despite my best efforts to keep it steady. "While I have spent my entire life proving my worth to you."
Alpha Theron exhaled slowly, his broad shoulders rising and falling. "Asha, this is not about worth. Astrid-"
"Don't!" I snapped, cutting him off. "Don't defend her to me. Don't pretend she's some innocent victim here. She's never been a part of this family. She doesn't want to be. All she cares about is what she can take from you. And you...you let her!"
I turned to face him fully, my hands clenched into fists at my sides. "You've always excused her behavior, Father. I don't really understand why!"
Alpha Theron's sharp gaze finally locked onto mine, and for a moment, I thought he might raise his voice. But he didn't.
He rarely did. Instead, his deep voice remained steady, a low rumble of authority. "Asha, that is enough."
"Enough?" I laughed bitterly. "No, Father. It's not enough. It's never enough. You should stop this, stop spoiling her and tolerating her disrespectful attitude.
His silence was deafeningand it made me curly my fist in anger like my words had no effect on him.
"She doesn't deserve this special treatment," I hissed. "She doesn't deserve your kindness or your forgiveness. She's a parasite, feeding off your guilt and your misplaced love."
"Asha," Alpha Theron said, his tone sharper now. "That is not the way to speak about your sister."
"She is not my sister!" I shouted, my voice echoing down the hallway. "She never has been, and she never will be."
Alpha Theron's expression darkened, his powerful presence filling the space between us. But I didn't flinch. Not this time.
"Look what she had done to both of us," I spoke more calmly this time after getting a hold on myself. "She's manipulating us... she has manipulated you—!
"That's enough!" My father's voice boomed, silencing me mid-sentence.
I stepped back, startled. I had never seen him like this, his face contorted with anger, his shoulders tense.
But beneath the fury, there was something else. Pain. A deep, raw pain that I didn't understand.
"You think you know everything,
don't you?" His voice trembled, not with weakness but with the weight of something long buried. "You think you know who she is. Who I am Who you are. But you know nothing, Asha. Nothing!"
I faltered, my resolve crumbling under the force of his words.
"You think Astrid is an illegitimate child?" he continued, his voice rising with each word.
"She is not. She is my legitimate daughter. My true heir. The life you live, the title you carry - they were

not yours, they were hers,& get
My lips curled in anger. "Hers?" I repeated. "She is a child born out of wedlock. At most, she could be called as a home wrecker."
His gaze hardened, his eyes glassy with unshed tears, and when he spoke again, his voice was softer but no less devastating.
"Astrid's mother... she was my mate. My one true mate. And Astrid... Astrid is the daughter of that bond. She is my rightful child, my firstborn, and my most legitimate child."
My mind reeled, struggling to make sense of his words. "W-what are you saying whispered, barely able to get the words out. "What about mother? You married her. She was the Pack's Luna-!" FindNovel
"Your mother,” he interrupted, his voice cracking, "was not my mate."
My breath caught in my throat, my heart hammering painfully against my ribs. I shook my head in disbelief. This doesn't make any sense.
"You know your uncle, my older brother. You know what happened to him, right?" Father asked me carefully as if preparing me for the next revelation.
I didn't answer. I remained silent, my gaze was anywhere but him.
My uncle died before my older brother Andros was even born. I never had the chance to meet him, I only know that he was killed because of an accident.
As the eldest, he used to be the Alpha of this Pack, but when he died, my father naturally inherited the title and became the Alpha of the Pack.
"Your mother's real mate is not me. She is my older brother's mate," My father continued, knocking out the air inside my lungs.
Chapter 339: Resentment
Asha's POV
I staggered back, shaking my head in disbelief. "That's not true. That can't be true," I mumbled as if I was just trying to convince myself.
"I was left with no choice, Asha. Your mother-Luna Jamaica-was my brother's mate.
He was the rightful Alpha. But when he died, the Pack needed a leader. And I... I was the only option.
I was forced to marry her to maintain stability. To keep this Pack from falling apart."
My father's eyes turned red as he tried his best to hold back his tears. My heart wrenched as I feel for his pain. This is the first time I ever saw my father look so vulnerable.
"I gave up everything. My mate. My happiness. My future. I gave it all away for this Pack, for a life I never wanted. And every day since, I have lived with that choice. With the weight of betraying my mate, of turning my back on the only woman I ever loved."
I stared at him, my body trembling as the truth settled over me like a suffocating blanket.
Everything I had believed, everything I had built my life on - it wasn't mine. It had never been mine.
Astrid... she was his true child, his legitimate heir. Not me. Not Andros.
I felt like a thief, a fraud who had stolen everything that should have been hers.
"I" My voice cracked, the shame and guilt tightening around my throat like a
noose.
What could I even say? What was there to say after everything I had just heard?
Before I could even form another thought, a voice, cold and cutting, sliced through the silence.
"So that's the truth, huh?"
My head snapped toward the doorway, and there she stood. Astrid. Her hands were curled into fists at her side, her eyes blazing with anger and something else - something deeper. Hurt. Betrayal.
Her presence hit me like a physical blow. How long had she been standing there? How much had she heard?
"Astrid," my father said, his voice heavy with emotion, but she silenced him with a sharp glare.
"Don't," she snapped, her tone dripping with venom. "Don't even start," she spat out. Her voice was laced with so much bitterness that it made my chest ache.
"You've been lying to me my entire life," Astrid continued, stepping into the room with slow, deliberate movements.
"I thought I was nothing. I thought my mother was the mistress, that I was born as a mistake, that I didn't belong.
And all this time... all this time, I was your daughter. Your legitimate daughter."
Her voice wavered, but the fury in her eyes didn't falter.
"Astrid, please," Father began, his voice cracking. He took a step toward her, but she held up a hand, stopping him in his tracks.
“Don't you dare come near me,” she hissed. "Do you have any idea what it's like? To think that you were nothing but a mistake and being always reminded of that? The dirty little secret no one wanted?
I was ridiculed, and hated on because was the outsider, the one who didn't deserve a place in this family and being unable to defend myself. How long were you planning to hide the truth?"
I watched as my father's face paled. He stared at Astrid pleadingly, deeply
regretting hiding the truth from her.
"I'm done," Astrid said, her voice
breaking slightly, but her resolve was
unshaken. "I'm done with this family. You can keep your titles, your Pack, yourlies. I don't want any ofût."

She turned sharply on her heel, her movements quick and purposeful as she stormed toward the door.
"Astrid, wait!" my father called after her, his voice filled with desperation, but she didn't stop.
"I've spent my whole life surviving without you," she said softly, her voice thick with emotion. "I don't need you now."
The silence that followed Astrid's departure was suffocating. My father stood there, his shoulders slumped, eyes filled with a mix of grief and frustration.
I could feel the weight of his gaze on me, but I couldn't meet it. I just stood there, motionless, the room spinning as the reality of everything I'd just learned began to settle in.
"Asha," my father's voice broke through the fog, quiet but filled with pain. "Asha, please... I hope you'd understand."
I didn't say anything. I couldn't. His words felt hollow now, meaningless after everything I had just heard.
I felt disgusted of myself. I felt like the evil person now that I found out the truth.
I've stolen everything from Astrid and I even hated her for nothing.
Without another word, I turned to leave.
"Where are you going?" he called out making me stop in my tracks.
"I need a moment to be alone, father to process all of these," with that I left, leaving him no chance to stop me.
Cold air seeped through my skin when I stepped out of the Packhouse, but it wasn't enough to cool the fire burning inside me.
It's the middle of the night, I should be in my room resting, but there is one place I wanted to be.
I need to visit my mother.
I hope she is still alive so she could explain everything to me and give me all the answers that I need.
Why didn't she tell me? Why did she hid it from us? I wish I could hear her side and understand why she kept me in the dark.
But now that she is gone, all I could do is yell at the cold ground and I would never get answers from her.
I ran, my heart pounding in my chest as I hurried to the place where she's buried.
As I neared the cemetery, I slowed down my pace. My brows furrowed when I spotted a figure at a distance.
Chapter 340: Eavesdropper
Asha's POV
The soft crunch of leaves beneath my boots was the only sound as I walked through the forest path.
My mother's grave is far from the Packhouse. She is buried in a secluded area, giving her peace.
The cool air carried a solemn stillness that matched my mood. Visiting her grave was my sanctuary, a place where I could let my guard down and remember the woman who raised me.
That's when I saw him - Andros, my older brother, standing at the edge of the woods.
The shadows from the trees seemed to engulf him, and his posture was rigid, alert.
Was he here to visit Mother too? I wondered.
My heart swelled at the thought. It wasn't often that Andros and I shared these quiet moments.
As the crowned Alpha he has too many responsibilities placed on his shoulder. He was always busy.
I opened my mouth to call out to him but stopped short when another figure emerged from the shadows. My brows furrowed.
The man wore a black hoodie that concealed most of his face, and his movements were deliberate, cautious, like someone trying to avoid being seen.
Who is he? And why is Andros meeting him here, of all places?
A strange sense of unease crept over me. Andros was the crowned Alpha, the leader of our pack, and he often dealt with matters I couldn't begin to understand.
But this - this felt different. Secretive. Dangerous. My instincts tells me to leave and pretend I saw nothing, but curiosity anchored my feet to the ground.
I crouched low behind a cluster of bushes and strained to hear their hushed conversation.
"Andros," the stranger said in a clipped tone, his voice low and gravelly. "Tomorrow at dawn. Everything will be in place."
My brother nodded. "Good. Surround the pack first. Wait for my signal. No one moves until I give the order."
Pack? Signal? My heart raced. What were they planning?
The stranger shifted his weight, his voice dropping even lower. "Are you sure no one knows? If someone suspects anything-"
"They won't," Andros interrupted, his tone cold and commanding. “I've made sure of it. This time, we'll catch them off guard."
What Pack are they talking about? What plans are they having? My eyes blinked as I tried to understand what their conversation was really about.
I stared at Andros. He is not planning something bad is he? I know my brother. Whatever they were talking about, whatever they were planning, it must be for the benefit of our Pack.
The stranger hesitated, then said, "And if something goes wrong?"
"It won't," Andros replied sharply. "Just remember that you wait for my signal and
stick to the plan. If something goes wrong because of me. I'll take full responsibility. Now go."
I pressed my hand over my mouth to stifle a gasp as the stranger melted back into the shadows.
Andros lingered for a moment, his expression unreadable.
The snap of a twig under my boot startled me. I froze, but it was too late.
"Asha?" Andros's sharp voice cut through the silence. My stomach dropped as he turned, his piercing gaze locking onto the bushes where I crouched. "What are you doing here?"
I stepped out slowly, like a deer caught in headlights.
"I-I was just on my way to visit Mother's grave," I stammered, feeling oddly guilty even though I hadn't done anything wrong. "I saw you here, and... I didn't want to interrupt."
His expression shifted, the usual sternness on his face replaced by something else
nervousness.
His eyes darted to the direction the stranger had gone before settling back on me. "How long have you been standing there?"
I blinked at him, confused. "Not long. I only just got here."
"And what did you hear?" His tone was sharp, almost panicked.
I tilted my head, puzzled by his reaction. Not much. I heard you talking to someone, but I didn't mean to eavesdrop," I said quickly, trying to reassure him. "I wasn't trying to pry or anything."
Andros let out a slow, measured breath, his shoulders relaxing slightly it's alright, Asha," he said, though his voice was still tight. "I just wasn't expecting anyone to be out here."

"Who was that man?" I asked, my curiosity bubbling to the surface. "What were
you talking about?"
"It's nothing important," Andros said
smoothly his tone suddenly calm
almost too calm. "Just some business for the pack. You wouldn't recognize him- he's from outside our usual circle."
"Business?" I repeated, frowning slightly. "It sounded serious."
"It's always serious when it comes to the pack," he replied with a faint smile, stepping closer to ruffle my hair. "But it's nothing for you to worry about. I've got it handled."
His explanation didn't quite sit right with me, but I pushed the doubt aside. This
was Andros, my brother. The Crowned Alpha.
If he said it was nothing to worry about, I had no reason not to trust him.
"Well, if you say so," I said, returning his smile. "Are you heading to Mother's grave too?"
Andros hesitated, his gaze flickering briefly to the shadows before he shook his head. “Not tonight. There's something I need to take care of."
I nodded, feeling disappointed. I was planning to tell him what I just found out, but
he's busy. I didn't want to disturb him.
"Alright. I'll see you back at the packhouse then?” I replied.
"Yeah," he said, his voice softer now. "Take care, Asha."
As I turned and walked toward the grave, I couldn't shake the faint sense of unease lingering in my chest.
But I pushed it aside, telling myself that Andros wouldn't lie to me. Would he?
