Ch. 1201..1210
Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 1201 --"You're just saying it." Hannah expressed her disappointment knowing he was distracted.
“Dude, what makes you think I’m in the mood to talk about that right now? We're going to die soon! Do you know what death is? If we're dead, then we'll have nothing! You've worked so hard since you were young, so why would you give up now? You can't die, and I can't as well!” Ralph roared impatiently.
“Are you that afraid of dying?” Hannah asked with a raised brow.
Ralph did not hesitate at all. "Of course I am! I'm scared as h “II! I don't want to die, and I want to keep living. My life is great, so why would I want to die?"
Hannah nodded in an exceptionally calm manner. "Okay. I got it.”
He could sense that her tone was somewhat off, but he paid no attention to it because he was miserable. He was starving, his stomach was gurgling, and his body was in pain and exhausted. On top of that, his throat felt like it was on fire. He decided just to stay silent and save his energy.
The night went by, and he fell asleep when it was almost dawn.
At 10 a.m., Lily arrived at the Riggs family's residence. As Alexander was worried, he also came along with her, but he parked outside the house and did not follow her in.
However, he placed a tiny earbud into her ear and reminded her for the nth time, "If anything happens..."
She continued what he was about to say, "Press the button right away, and rush in immediately with your men. Don't take on everything by yourself, and do things within your limits. Don’t confront her head-on, and we can discuss the things she brings up when we go home later.”
Alexander had said these words to her countless times yesterday, and she could already memorize them.
For a brief moment, Alexander was stunned, but after that, he gave her an adoring but helpless smile.
"You..." He could never bring himself to get mad at her, so he could only pinch the tip of her nose and say, "It's best that you remember. I'll be waiting for you out here!"
“Okay.” Lily nodded and opened the door, but a sudden thought hit her, and she turned her head back, leaning over to leave a kiss at the corner of Alexander's lips.
It made him breathless for a moment. He drew her back just as she was about to walk away once more, holding the back of her head with one hand before he closed the space between them and passionately locked lips with her.
They kissed for a long time, finally stopping when they were both out of breath. The tip of their noses was against each other's, and Lily said in a hoarse voice, "Hey, you're making it seem like we're parting ways forever.”
"Don't say this kind of thing! It brings bad luck!" Alexander covered her mouth and frowned as he corrected her.
That made Lily chuckle even more. "Since when did you become so superstitious?"
"It's best to be cautious when it concerns you," he replied thoughtfully.
Seeing his look, Lily did not tease him anymore and nodded, replying in an equally serious tone, "I'll be careful."
He was finally satisfied upon hearing that and let her go as he watched her enter through the gate. Soon, she was picked up by a car to head to the house.
The gate closed in front of his eyes, and he made a call.
Lily sat in the car, and it brought her into the innermost part, which was the house they resided in.
The maids were polite to her. It was just that they said nothing to her or looked at her. Instead, they had their gazes lowered the entire time.
Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 1202--When they arrived at the door, Chump was already waiting there, and he went forward to open the door for her. "Mrs. Russell, Ms. Riggs is waiting for you inside.”
Lily nodded and took a few steps forward, but she stopped when she came to the door. Suddenly, she turned around to look at Chump.
He stood there, not moving or showing any expression.
"Chump," Lily called out, remembering that Heather addressed him this way. Sure enough, she noticed that he was stunned for a moment. It made her chuckle, and she called out again, "Chump, is there only one Ms. Riggs?"
Chump said nothing, but a glimpse of surprise flashed across his gaze. It did not go unnoticed by Lily. It seemed that her guess was close and that there was something off about Heather.
Initially, she thought that Heather would be in the living room, but it was empty. At this time. Chump came forward.' Mrs. Russell, please follow me."
Lily followed behind him and ascended the stairs. She did not expect them to be talking in Heather's bedroom. The room smelled of disinfectants and medicine. ‘Is Heather taking medicine?’
"Ms. Christian.” Lily heard Heather's voice before she caught sight of her. She looked in the direction of the voice and saw Heather sitting on the couch in her bedroom with her legs crossed and tilted to one side. She was snuggled up on the couch and wearing home clothes. It seemed that Heather was comfortable enough with Lily to appear this way before her.
"Ms. Riggs." Lily smiled and greeted back as she glanced at Heather's hands, her legs, and finally her ankles...
Her smile froze, and she rephrased herself. "Ms. Heather Riggs?"
That stunned Heather. She frowned for a moment and finally allowed herself to smooth the unevenness on her forehead.
"You're right. It's me.”
"It seems that the imposter's job is done here?" Lily went straight to the point, and with one hand on her hip, she took a seat as if she were in her own house.
Upon hearing that, Chump's expression changed, and he was about to step forward, but Heather raised her hand to stop him.
"Chump, wait outside.”
"But Ms. Riggs..." He was anxious and wanted to stay by Heather's side after that incident. He feared she would be in danger when he left her alone.
"Ms. Christian is civilized, and she won't do anything to me. Right, Ms. Christian?" Heather asked, looking at Lily.
"So long as you stay civilized, I'll do the same too, Ms. Riggs.” The meaning behind Lily's words was unmistakable. As long as Heather did not strike first, she would not make the first move.
"Did you hear that? Get out now!" Heather pointed to the door and said, ‘There are some things I want to discuss in private with Ms. Christian. Stay outside the door. I'll call for you when I need you."
With that, Chump could only leave Heather’s bedroom and stay on guard outside the door.
"Ms. Riggs, this subordinate of yours is really loyal to you. He has stayed by your side only."
Heather understood what she meant and smiled. “That's enough. I wasn’t going to keep anything from you today because I invited you over, so you don't need to keep asking questions. You're right. I have an imposter, and her name is Hannah Riggs. She's my twin sister. We look exactly the same, don’t we?"
Lily did not expect her to be so straightforward, and it stunned her for a moment. Nodding, she said, "Yeah. The both of you are practically identical."
"Of course we are. We're twins, after all. Plus, she has been deliberately imitating how I speak and act since we were young. No one had noticed our differences all these years." Heather sounded quite proud of that, but she changed the subject a second later.
"But I'm curious about something. Ms. Christian, when did you realize we were not the same person?"
Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 1203--"Not long ago,” Lily said. "After all, the two of you are so alike.”
"Since that's the case, how did you notice our differences?" Heather was curious because no one had noticed their differences all these years. No one had ever discovered that they were two people.
Lily tilted her head, then raised her hand to scratch it, pondering for a moment before she spoke, “How should I put it? As someone who practices kickboxing, I'm sure you know we can't hide our vitality completely. Your twin sister can't fight at all, can she?”
"You're right." Heather nodded, not denying it. "She can't fight, and she was bom weak. It took a long time for her health to be similar to normal people.”
"Hence, it's easy to differentiate between the two of you. It’s just that I wasn't familiar with you back then, and you two were too much alike regarding your appearance, demeanor, and even habits." Lily recalled. The images in her head were slightly messy, and she could not differentiate between Heather and Hannah.
In retrospect, the time they met in the hotel allowed her and Alexander to confirm their suspicions that they were two different people. In other words, it was easy to differentiate between the two when she was together with Ralph.
"You have no feelings for Uncle Ralph, do you?” Lily asked directly.
That made Heather cough before she answered, “Not absolutely. After all, he’s the man I've been the most intimate with, but to me, men are just tools for me to bear a child and continue my family's legacy. They're useless to me and would only hinder me in enhancing my kickboxing skills.’
Then she rubbed her temples and narrowed her eyes at Lily.’ That is why I'm confused about one thing. Why are you willing to bear a child for Alexander? If you didn't get pregnant, you could’ve accomplished so much more than I did in kickboxing.”
Heather had fought with Lily before. Even though Lily was pregnant then. Heather still could not beat her, and the fight ended in a draw. That meant it was likely that Heather could not beat Lily if the latter were not pregnant.
Hence, she could not understand why Lily stopped practicing kickboxing with the talent she had. After all, she believed Lily might even become a legend in the kickboxing world if she had continued.
That was a lifelong dream for Heather, but it was something Lily did not care much about.
“I'm not that interested in kickboxing.” Lily shook her head and continued, "I only learned it because my grandpa forced me to when I was younger. When I grew up, I didn't practice it anymore."
In comparison, Lily was more passionate about things that were related to fragrances. That, as well as her obsession with perfumes and their ingredients, was something she was born with.
Heather also understood that. "I know you're passionate about fragrances, so won't you think that getting pregnant would be an obstacle in your career? Why would you stop just to give birth to a child? Why don’t you keep going forward? Is there even anything else in life that is more worthwhile than achieving something in the things you love?"
It was rare for Heather to ask so many things patiently, and that was because she genuinely could not understand them.
If not for the drastic changes in many things, she would not be interested in discussing these things with Lily. After all, she somewhat disdained Lily.
‘Forget about someone like Hannah who has no talent at all, but Lily has all of that, be it the qualifications or talent, so why doesn't she want to work harder and strive for the things she loves?’
"I can only say we have different ambitions in life. I don't feel that giving birth to a child would conflict with my career and hobbies." Lily rubbed her belly with one hand gently.
Now, her child was at a phase where they could move inside her. Her child would sometimes stretch or kick her, and it was a magical feeling to her.
Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 1204--"Life is a journey with no return trip. I used to be obsessed with my career, but I later realized many other things in life are equally as important or even more important than my work. I've focused on chasing my goals and moving forward, but I've forgotten to slow down and smell the flowers.
"Sometimes, slowing down and experiencing the beautiful things life offers might even bring me a step further in my career."
When Lily began to slow down, she was anxious and would also feel restless. Later, her focus shifted to her child when her belly enlarged, and she no longer felt as indifferent about it as before.
Moreover, she learned about the scent only a baby would have after learning about prenatal education and meeting a few mothers. She learned about the smell of sweat on pregnant mothers who also neglected themselves because they were too busy caring for their children.
It gave her the idea to create a perfume for pregnant mothers, so they could still smell great and feel good about themselves.
Sure enough, all of this would need to wait till she went into labor. However, this new experience did inspire her.
Heather could not understand what Lily meant entirely, but she was puzzled when she saw Lily's smile. Lily's sincere smile made Heather realize it had been a long time since she last smiled this way, or rather, it had been some time since she had taken a good look at herself in the mirror.
Whenever Heather looked at Hannah, she felt she was looking at herself. She grew tired of it. In a daze, she raised her hand to her face and pulled the corners of her lips upward, but it was a forced smile she had on her face.
"Ms. Riggs, you didn't invite me here just to listen to how I feel about my pregnancy, did you?" Lily spoke, pulling Heather back to her senses after noticing she was in a trance.
It worked, and when Heather realized that was happening, she coughed before clearing her throat. "I invited you over because I want to make a deal with you."
"A deal?" Lily was puzzled. "Besides knowing how to create fragrances and owning a small lab, I'm afraid I don't have that much capital to strike a deal with you, Ms. Riggs.”
"You do,” Heather said, going straight to the point. ‘You and Alexander are well aware of what I want. I can confirm my secret handbook is fake, isn’t it?"
‘The secret handbook?’
Lily did not expect her to be still brooding over this matter. Smiling, she admitted honestly. "You're right."
Heather breathed a sigh of relief when she heard the answer she had expected. Recently, she had been thinking about it over and over again. She had read the book repeatedly and thought over things carefully.
Back then, Heather was anxious and wanted to master kickboxing in the shortest time possible. Now that she was not in excellent health, she had the time to study the book slowly, which made her feel that something was not right the more she studied.
All the kickboxing books she read in the past were very detailed about the moves and how one should practice them, which was the opposite of this book which described every move vaguely.
However, this book provided great insights into a kickboxer's mindset and true understanding of the moves. It explained these things in detail. There were even some phrases from the Bible as well.
When she recalled the words Alexander had said to her before, she was convinced that there was a problem with the secret handbook she owned.
Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 1205--Heather doubted the secret handbook's authenticity the most because Alexander had not come looking for her even after such a long time. She had spent so much time and effort to steal the secret handbook. Logically, Alexander should go all out just to retrieve such a crucial lost item.
She put herself in Alexander's shoes and concluded that she would search every corner of Kingsland if she had lost something so important to her.
However, Alexander was so calm, as if nothing had happened. Ralph said Alexander did not look for him at all, which meant he did not care about his lost handbook.
There was only one reason for Alexander's indifference-the secret handbooks Heather and Ralph stole were fakes. If Alexander could set up a trap for Ralph, Heather believed he would also set one up for her. i
After calming down and thinking things through, she figured out many things.
"The real secret handbook is still with you guys." Heather continued after she sucked in a deep breath and cleared her cluttered mind.
However, Lily just stared at her before she shook her head slowly.
That was out of Heather's expectation, stunning her for a moment before she said in disbelief, "It's not with you guys?
That's impossible! Where is it, then? You guys didn't destroy it or ask someone else to keep it, did you?"
“No,” Lily replied faintly, ‘That book doesn't exist at all.”
"Impossible!" Heather exclaimed. She would only believe this over her dead body and sneered again, "Why do you need to make up such a stupid reason to lie to me? I'm being frank today in our discussion, and I even told you about my twin sister's existence. Plus, I was just asking about the secret handbook. It's not like I'm going to ask you to give it to me. What are you so afraid of?"
"Hey, why do people always believe in lies but not the truth? Don't you find it funny too?” Lily spread her hands, signaling she was telling the truth, but Heather was unwilling to believe it.
"You... No! It's impossible!" After some hesitation, Heather denied the possibility that the book had never existed. How could she believe that? Soon, she voiced her suspicions, “If the secret handbook doesn't exist, how could Alexander become so skilled in such a short time?
"How could he be so powerful? He's hiding the book, afraid I'll take it away. Also, my grandpa was the one who told me that the Russell family has a secret handbook. He couldn't have been wrong about it!"
"We don't even know when the rumors about the Russell family possessing a secret handbook got out. However, it wasn't bad for the Russells because they might get oppressed if they didn't know how to combat when they had such a huge family business.
“When the outsiders believed that there were skilled fighters within the Russell family, that became a form of protection for them. Although the kickboxing industry has regressed, people are still looking for trouble. I'm sure you understand this better than anyone else, Ms. Riggs."
Besides the Riggs family. Heather had seen how the Lodge family suffered from various provocations over the past years. The Lodge family would have collapsed long ago if it were not for Justin.
“As for Alexander's combat skills..."
Lily recalled when she asked Alexander about this because she did not expect him to be so skilled in kickboxing. He had never mentioned it before, either.
When the Lodge family was going through their crisis, he did not reveal his ability, too, so she was surprised to learn that he was even more skilled than she was.
Later, he told her, "When I was younger, my grandpa said he wanted me to learn some self-defense skills one day. I thought it was similar to what the other kids were learning, like basic boxing skills.
"However, he sent me to this church on a mountain one day, and I got a priest as my teacher. Besides teaching me some basic fighting skills, he would sometimes teach me some Bible proverbs. I did not understand everything completely back then, but my teacher said I was smart and understood things quickly.”
Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 1206--After a few years of training, my trainer told my grandpa to take me home and said there was nothing else he could teach me. Before I left, he gave me a box of meditation books and asked me to read them whenever I was free."
At that time, Alexander stopped for a moment before continuing, "After reading more of these books, I gradually understood that the key to kickboxing is strengthening the mind. No matter how important the moves are, our minds are most important. From these meditation books, we can sometimes find answers for kickboxing and business skills.”
Hearing what he said, Lily said half-jokingly, “In other words, you almost became a Zen master at teaching meditation."
If Alexander did, he probably would not have met her.
To her surprise, Alexander nodded thoughtfully. "Well, I almost did.”
Laughing, she playfully swatted at him.
Now, Lily related what Alexander told her to Heather.
Shocked, the latter became speechless for a long time as her face flushed and then paled and darkened.
Lily understood that it was easy for her to accept, but it was a huge shock and blow to Heather.
Heather struggled to convince herself that the secret handbook did not exist, as she had always believed in it.
"I know you find it hard to believe, but..." Pausing for a moment, Lily said slowly, “Alex wanted me to tell you that you're already strong enough. There are always people who are better than us, whether as businesspeople or kickboxers, and there's no need for you to thrive to become the best, especially in the modem world.”
“To many, you're already very successful. Don't you think that ensuring a good life for the Riggs family is much more meaningful than pursuing your dream of becoming the world’s number one?" Heather was shocked.
"Alexander wanted you to tell me that?"
"Yes."
"He knew why I came to look for you?"
Lily nodded slightly. "He had guessed. That fake handbook is not something that would cause anyone harm. It could be good for your self-control if you're patient enough to study it. Perhaps, in a way, it might boost your kickboxing skills.
"I did realize there was something off about it, but I was too late.” Having been agitated, Heather could not hold it anymore and started to cough violently”
She coughed until her face flushed. Alarmed by the noise. Chump hurried in. "Ms. Riggs!"
"Who told you to come in? Get out!" Heather said, coughing.
However, Chump did not do as she said this time and rushed over to offer her a glass of warm water instead. Heather did not refuse to take it. After coughing for a while, she took the glass and gulped down half its contents. Her breathing grew smoother, although she still looked pale as a ghost.
Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 1207 --"You're poisoned?” Cocking her head with a frown, Lily sized the woman up and made her conclusion.
Heather did not deny it and nodded slightly. Almost no one knew about her being poisoned, and it would be dangerous for her if her enemies were to find out about it.
Chump knew about the danger and had kept quiet. Thus, he was surprised that Heather would let Lily know about it.
After thinking for a moment, Lily connected the dots and came to another conclusion. 'The one who poisoned you is your twin sister, right?”
Shocked, Heather suddenly looked up at her. "How did you know?'1
Apart from Chump, only Ralph knew about Hannah poisoning her. However, Chump would never tell anyone, and Lily could not have learned about it.
With a sigh, Lily said, “It's not hard to guess. It would be hard to poison someone as alert as you, and the only person who could do so had to be someone you trusted and did not guard against. Considering that your twin sister kept showing up before us when you were not around, the answer is quite obvious.”
Heather remained quiet for a while before letting out a sigh.” You're truly a smart woman."
“You must have been careless, or else you wouldn't have been poisoned so easily. However, why did your twin sister poison you? Aren't you siblings?" It was something that Lily did not understand.
Heather gave a wry chuckle and said, "She did it for a man. Isn't that funny?"
Lily was in disbelief. After a few seconds, she asked tentatively, "You're not talking about Alex's youngest uncle, are you?”
Heather simply looked at her with a wan smile.
Lily was speechless. ‘Holy s*hit! It is him?"
‘This is so hard to believe. To think that Ralph could make Hannah fall in love with him and that she loved him so much that she was willing to poison her sister for his sake! The world is truly filled with surprises.’
After a while, Heather said, "I wanted to do you a favor in exchange for your lending me the real handbook, but now...
"The handbook does not even exist! After searching for it for so long, it turned out to be something too good to be true, and now I've lost my goal all of a sudden.’
"Forget it. You can have him,” she said, sighing.
Puzzled, Lily looked at her as she waved her hand, and Chump went out.
A moment later, he returned to the room carrying someone by the back of the collar and threw the person onto the floor.
The man landed with a thump. Lily was surprised as she took a good look. ‘Ralph?’
No longer full of himself like he was a few days ago, he now looked dirty and worn. His lips were so dry that they became flaky, and there were wounds on his face.
Lying on the floor, he was surprised to see Lily. He hurriedly looked at Heather and said, "Heather- Ms. Riggs, please spare me!Your sister poisoned you, and I have nothing to do with it. You can't blame me!"
He thought Heather would settle the score with him and anxiously explained.
Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 1208--Heather threw him a look of disdain. “Frankly speaking, I have no idea what Hannah sees in you. How is she attracted to a man like you?"
"Yes, I'm a good-for-nothing, so I'm not capable of harming you. Please let me go!” After a pause, he looked at Lily. “Lily- no, I mean Mrs. Russell or Ms. Christian, you're here to save me, right? You're here to take me back to the Russell Estate, right? No matter what, my mom won't abandon me, right?”
Lily sighed inwardly, seeing him act like a coward.
‘Alexander has never been so fearful in the face of death. He's always calm and steady as if everything is under his control, and his presence has a reassuring effect on people around him.’
‘It's no wonder Ralph is not a member of the Russell family. He and Alex have nothing in common.’
Looking at him, Lily said blandly, "Grandma's ill and in bad shape. The doctor says she could not be agitated further."
Thanks to him, the older woman had suffered blows multiple times, and her heart could hardly take it anymore.
"Yes, if I die, it will be the biggest blow to her. I can't die. Please take me away. I'll return home with you,” he said hurriedly.
Lily was speechless.
"Can I take him?” Lily thought about it and asked.
‘Grandma would like to see him anyway. Besides, I should bring him home no matter how we decide to deal with him. Even if he’s someone kicked out of the family, it would be embarrassing to allow others to punish him.”
Heather nodded and said, after some thought, "Hold on. I have something to settle first.”
Raising her eyebrows, Lily made a go-ahead hand gesture. Heather gave Chump a look, and he knowingly left.
A moment later, he returned carrying someone and threw the person onto the floor just as before.
The difference was that the person lied on the ground and took her time to get up.
Lily was somewhat shocked to see the person's face as she looked up.
Although she knew they were twin sisters, it was the first time Lily saw them together.
When either of the sisters showed up, it might take some effort to tell who the person was. But when they showed up at the same time with their faces looking nearly identical, Lily suddenly felt that it was not easy to tell them apart.
‘Yes, their faces look so alike. One might even say they are carbon copies of each other. Even the way Hannah got up from the floor and brushed her hair off her face reminded me of Heather. However, their gazes and overall demeanors feel different to me.’
Hannah first saw Lily and looked away indifferently. After giving Ralph a deep look, she turned her gaze to Heather and said.
"Say it. What do you want? To have me killed?"
The corners of her lips curled into a smile as if she did not care about what Heather would do to her.
Heather simply pointed her finger at Ralph. "Do you truly like him so much?"
Hannah looked over her shoulder at who she was pointing at and did not understand her intention. Nevertheless, she held her chin up and answered firmly anyway. "Yes!”
Raising her eyebrows, Lily found herself admiring Hannah's courage.
Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 1209 --“Then what do you say I let both of you go and give you the freedom you want?” Heather continued.
Hannah widened her eyes in disbelief. “What evil schemes are you up to? Tell me what you want, and stop beating around the bush!"
Lily did not comprehend what Heather was planning to do either. However, knowing that Heather must have her reasons, Lily said nothing and sat quietly aside.
"I'm being serious. Since you like Ralph so much, don't you want to leave and spend the rest of your life with him?" Heather's offer was tempting.
Even though Hannah thought it was a trap, she was willing to take the risk. She turned to look at Ralph, then furrowed her brows to look over at her sister. "Say it. Name your conditions.”
After growing up together, she knew Heather as well as herself. ‘She would never be so kind and let us off unconditionally. Her offer must come with terms.’
Heather nodded with a half-smile. "My terms are simple. First, you are to sever your ties with the Riggs family, and everything you do shall have nothing to do with us. You're never to return home again, and the further you stay out of our sight, the better!"
Seemingly without hesitation, Hannah readily nodded.
"Okay, fine!”
To her, this was not a problem at all. After all, she had no good memories of the family. As someone who had lived in fear all her life without freedom and hope, she would instead seize the chance to be herself rather than retain the right to go home.
However, Lily viewed Heather's first condition differently.
Heather had roughly told her that the Riggs sisters could not co-exist. Although she was surprised that there was such a ridiculous curse, Lily had to admit that superstitious people could be pretty obsessed with it.
As the sister's parents had believed it for so many years, they would never change their minds about it, and they would only grow more determined to keep only one child after Heather nearly lost her life.
Therefore, although it seemed she was making things difficult for Hannah, Heather's condition could be seen as a way out for her sister.
If Hannah were to sever the ties with her family, she would become an outsider, and the Riggs family would have no right to punish her. At the same time, the curse would naturally vanish because, from now on, there would only be one daughter in the family.
Lily looked thoughtfully at Heather. ‘She looks bossy and domineering, but there's something different in how she does things now.’
Heather blinked and said as she turned to look at Ralph,"Not so fast. Second, I want to keep both of your arms!”
Ralph looked abruptly at Hannah's hands. "You can't!"
Hannah pursed her lips and held up her arms to look at them. She knew it would not be so easy.
‘I've poisoned and almost killed her, so how could she let me off so easily? It's just as I expected!’
"Okay!" Hannah lifted her head and chuckled coldly, her gaze unusually steely. "The moment I started to poison you, I decided to die if I failed because I Knew you would never spare my life. How would a ruthless person like you allow me to live? I only consider myself lucky if I could exchange my arms for my life, my freedom, and for my loved one!"
Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 1210 --"Annie, don't be rash!" Ralph tried to dissuade her.
Hannah shook her head, held his hand, and said, “Even without my arms, I still have legs, eyes, and a mouth. We'll find a way to make a living. I don't care as long as I'm with you."
“But...”
"You're such a romantic, aren't you?” Heather snorted and said, "However, have you thought it through? I'll kick you out of the Riggs family, and you'll lose your arms while your beloved man is broke. How will you survive later without your bread and butter?”
"You know nothing about love. You'll never understand!” Hannah was indifferent.
Heather looked at Chump, and a glinting knife dropped onto the floor with a clang.
"You agreed so readily. You think you can reattach your arms after I cut them off?"
Lily frowned as she looked at the knife, which she knew was sharpened, judging by its blade. She turned her gaze to Heather and saw her severe, unblinking expression.
“I'll do it myself!" Hannah exclaimed and bent over to pick up the knife. However, as she touched it, Chomp stepped onto the blade.
She looked up at Chump, not comprehending.
Heather said laughingly, "Be patient! I'm not done yet since there’s one more condition.”
After a pause, she fixed her gaze on Ralph and said, "Third, I want to keep one of Ralph's legs.”
Ralph paled when he heard what Heather said.
Shocked, Hannah yelled, "Why?! No way!"
"No way!” Ralph echoed almost at the same time.
Lily sighed inwardly. ‘Hannah agreed without hesitation to have her arms chopped off, but she refused to sacrifice Ralph's leg. She's so deep in love.’
"This has nothing to do with him! I'm a member of the Riggs family, not him. I'm the one who poisoned you, and he knew nothing about it. Why do you want to take his leg? You have no right!"
She thought of something and turned to Lily. "Ms. Christian, Ralphy is a member of the Russell family. Are you going to look on while others do such a thing to him? Say something! No, we can't allow it!"
Lily noticed Hannah's anxiousness, threw Ralph a look, and saw him staring at his own folded legs while wrapping his arms around them protectively. “Don't you think it's unfair that your sister only wants to take one of his legs while demanding both of your arms?"
Hannah shook her head. "This is between her and me and has nothing to do with Ralphy! Let him go, and I'll stay, okay? Just chop off my hands, and I won't leave with him. You guys let him go. Just let him leave, and don’t chop off his leg!"
Lily was shocked.
"You like him, and you want to be with him so much. Now that you're so close to your freedom, will you give up like that?" ‘She single-mindedly wants to be with Ralph, but she's offering to give up so that he won't have to sacrifice his leg?* ‘How could she love him so much?'
