Ch. 1391..1400

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 1391 -"No, Aunt Tasia...""

Galen pointed inside with his little finger.

"Lily, you're back!" Anastasia exclaimed with a smile.

Although she was sitting at the dining table, it seemed she had not touched the food.

It was evident that she had not started eating yet.

Lily was a little surprised to see that.

Usually, Anastasia would have almost finished her food by that time.

"What's wrong? Is today’s food not to your liking?"

Lily was the one who had personally picked these dishes, avoiding the food that Anastasia did not like.

"No, it's not that!" Anastasia smiled slightly.

"I just wanted to wait for you to come back so we can eat together."

"Oh?"

Lily looked at the different dishes in front of her.

There were roasted chicken thighs with sauteed mushroom, steamed egg, steamed sea bass, and some salad.

However, they looked a little cold.

It was apparent that the maids had served them quite a while ago.

Lily had informed the maids about Anastasia's meal time, so they prepared the food accordingly.

Today, it was already past her dinner time.

However, Lily did not comment on it.

Instead, she pulled out a chair to put Galen down before sitting herself.

Then she said, "I'll get the maids to reheat the food."

"Lily, I know I've been troubling you to care for me these two days, " Anatasia said, sitting across from Lily.

Lily shook her head.

"Why are you suddenly being so courteous? I told you I'm going to charge you for your food at the end of the month!"

"I know you're not serious about that, and I also know you're doing this for my own good.I feel like I've relaxed a lot over these past two days.My body doesn't feel as tired as before, and eating isn't as stressful either."

"Isn't that a good thing?"

Lily knew Anastasia had mote to say.

Still, she did not pressure Anastasia and patiently waited for her to continue.

"Yes..."

Anastasia seemed to be struggling to find the words to say, but since she had waited for Lily, Anastasia must want to get it off her chest.

The maids brought the reheated dishes, temporarily diverting the duo’s attention.

As the maids laid out the dishes one after the other, Lily scooped a small bow! of the steamed egg for Galen before picking up a piece of fish and carefully deboning it.

Anastasia noticed that Lily was about to eat the food and asked curiously, "Lily, are you eating this food too? These are diet foods.Do you want to add some other dishes?"

"Who said these are diet foods? Besides, even if they are, children can still eat them. There are enough nutrients in them.Don't worry. There's enough food for everyone, and they’ll surely make you full."

Once Lily picked out the bones, she placed the fish into Galen's bowl.

Then a cheerful "thank you, mummy" sounded.

Then Lily turned to look at Anastasia and continued, "However, no matter how much food is on the table, you can only eat until you're 70% full, okay?"

Anastasia looked at her quietly and pursed her lips.

After a moment, she asked hesitantly, "Lily, have you studied medicine?"

"Didn't you ask me that question before? You asked me if I was a doctor, and I told you I wasn't," Lily replied nonchalantly.

"No.Although you've never been a doctor, that doesn't mean you've never studied medicine."

After a moment, Anastasia continued doubtfully, "Are you...self-taught?"

"Huh?"

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 1392 --Lily smiled lightly.

"Who told you?"

Anastasia stiffened. Her fair skin betrayed the redness that appeared on her face.

"N-No one.I was just curious."

There was a conflict in her heart.

On the one hand, questioning Lily like this felt like she distrusted her friend.

How could she believe a stranger so easily? On the other hand, Anastasia had some doubts about Lily.

The man told Anastasia that she had been put under a spell, and he said all of this confidently.

It was her own body that was put at risk.

"Is it Austin?" Lily asked after thinking about it.

He was the only one who would get in between her and Anastasia, belittling Lily in various ways.

She had never met a man as petty as he was.She had nothing against him.

All the times he had fought against, belittled, and suppressed her were due to his sexism.

Lily was bored with it.

After being called out, Anastasia couldn't hold herself back and lowered her gaze before softly muttering, "I'm sorry."

"There's nothing to be sorry about. It's normal to grow a little suspicious, and it's good to be a little wary of people." Lily smiled faintly.

She wasn't trying to comfort Anastasia in any way.

Instead, Lily was telling the truth.

Once upon a time, she also gave her heart and soul to people without reservation.

Ultimately, she was betrayed by the ones she trusted the most.

Trust was good, but being a little wary was a form of self-protection.

There was nothing wrong with that.

"I'm sorry.I shouldn't have doubted you! After all, you've been nothing but kind to me.These days are the happiest I’ve been in the past few years.Even if I didn't lose weight, I would remember these few days of happiness forever!"

The more Lily was kind about this, the guiltier Anastasia felt.

She felt foolish for ever having doubted her friend, especially after a man said, "Silly girl, who told you you couldn't lose weight?!"

Seeing that Galen was almost done eating, Lily wiped his little mouth and pecked his cheek before softly saying, "Go find Daisy.I need to talk to Aunt Tasia about something."

Galen pursed his pink lips and kissed Lily's cheek before leaving the table obediently.

Once he left, Lily turned to look at the untouched dishes on the table and asked, "So, are you going to eat these?"

"Of course! Of course, I'm eating them!"

Anastasia came back to her senses and started picking at the food.

However, she was quickly blocked by Lily.

"Did you forget what I said? Take your time!"

Lily shot Anastasia a disapproving look.

"You can eat anything you like, but take your time to eat and enjoy the food. It'll be worth it."

"I know."

Anastasia nodded and slowly began to eat.

Looking at her, Lily suddenly said, "I did learn some medical skills, but I didn't learn them on my own."

Anastasia immediately burst into fits of coughing. She was startled that Lily would suddenly bring this up again.

"Be careful," Lily said, handing her a glass of water.

Anastasia took a few sips with a flushed face and said, "Lily, I really didn't mean to question you.You don't have to explain yourself to me.I believe you!"

If she had doubts before this, they were all dispelled. She saw Lily as a friend, and she did not have many of them throughout her twenty years of life.

Anastasia didn't want to be suspicious of her friends due to what outsiders said.

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 1393--Anastasia should not have doubted Lily from the start.

"You have the right to be suspicious, and I should explain it to you, " Lily said.

''I didn't tell you before because I was unsure."

"Unsure about what?" Anastasia asked curiously.

Looking at her, Lily pondered for a while before saying, "I wasn't sure what poisoned you."

When she said this, the colors immediately drained from Anastasia's face out of fear.

"You...don't have to be scared. The poison isn't fatal,"

Lily quickly reassured Anastasia after noticing her fearful expression.

Anastasia wasn't frightened by the fact that she was poisoned.

Instead, it was because Lily and that miracle doctor said the same thing.

They both said the fact that she was unable to lose weight over the years and that she was always tired and disheartened was because she was poisoned.

After calming herself down, she asked, "Then what am I poisoned with?"

"It's something relatively complicated.I think it's something that you've ingested for a long time.I still need a few days to study it carefully," Lily answered cautiously after a pause.

"Then..."

Anastasia got up and took her phone out before scrolling to a picture on it.It was a picture of a medicine that Austin had prescribed for her.She handed her phone over to Lily for her to see.

"Is this prescription effective for the toxins in my body?"

Lily looked at the prescriptions carefully before looking up at her.

"Did Austin give this to you?" Anastasia nodded.

Since he could tell she was poisoned, he could not be some uneducated charlatan.

It meant that he had some knowledge and that this prescription would work, right?

"That's not a good prescription."

Lily shook her head and then explained, "This prescription temporarily suppresses your appetite and relieves the feeling of physical fatigue. However, it has little effect when it comes to detoxification.

"when it comes to detoxification, we'd first have to figure out what is poisoning you before knowing the antidote. This prescription will only temporarily improve your mental state and shrink your appetite. It might even make you feel a little nauseous. It wouldn't have any effect on the poison in your body."

Anastasia's hopes were shattered again after hearing this.

Initially, she thought that meeting this miracle doctor could save her life.

Who knew that it still wouldn't work?

"Don't be discouraged. The toxins in your body might be complicated, but they're not fatal. This long-term, chronic poisoning won’t kill you.I should be able to find an antidote for it, but you'll have to give me some time,"

Lily quickly comforted Anastasia.

That was something Lily feared—that Anastasia would build up these expectations only to be disappointed.

Every hurdle was a blow to the person's spirits.

Ultimately, it was only through a person's willpower that they could fight against any disease.

Once their pillar of strength collapsed, the individual would also cave in.

Therefore, Lily did not go into detail about the effect of the poison on Anastasia's body.

Lily wanted Anastasia to be happily eating and drinking here.

She did not even intend to bring up any discussions on healing or detoxification. She just wanted to adjust Anastasia's diet.

Austin was a giant hurdle in the way.

"I've only been to a few places since I was a child, and the maids at home have been with me ever since I can remember.Growing up, I rarely ate outside.Everything I ate was from my kitchen. How could I be poisoned? Could it be that the maids at home are trying to harm me?"

Anastasia fell into an abyss of thoughts, distressed.

She genuinely didn't understand how she could be poisoned; Anastasia thought she was doing well.

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 1394-"Now, don't you start overthinking. It might not be the maids."

Lily paused as if she wanted to change the subject but suddenly asked, "By the way, you don't really like flowers and plants, and you don't know much about medicinal herbs either. Why do you have so many potted plants at home?"

Anastasia was still upset by what she heard and replied mechanically, "Those were all sent by my aunt. She said I'm not in good health and don't like to leave the house, so having more greenery is good for me.She continued to mumble, "My aunt mentioned how being surrounded by greens can lift someone's mood, and they produce oxygen, which is good for my body. However, I don't think it made me feel any better..."

Then she seemed to have remembered something and raised her head to look at Lily.

"Could it be those flowers and plants? Could it be that my aunt is trying to poison me? No! That's impossible! Although my aunt nags me a lot and says hurtful things, she still cares about me.

"I know this! Even my cousin was jealous when we were children, thinking my aunt loved me more than her."

"I'm not trying to accuse your aunt.It doesn't necessarily have something to do with the flowers and plants."

Lily was afraid that Anastasia would spiral even further if they continued to discuss the possibility that she might collapse, so Lily quickly said, "Enough about this.I'm still not sure what's poisoning you.You don't have to be scared.I'm already thinking of a way to detoxify you.Listen to me.I can cure you!"

At this point, Anastasia was barely listening.

The only word that rang in her head was "poisoned."She was dazed until she heard a word from the last sentence, "cure."

It was as if she had been struck by lightning, and she finally returned to her senses.

"Can it really be cured?"She asked cautiously.

"Of course, it can be cured!"

Lily nodded affirmatively.

What Anastasia needed most at this time was assurance.

Then Lily added, "However, you have to be disciplined. You need to eat well and have enough rest. Also, get rid of all the flowers and plants in your house and garden."

"Okay!"

Anastasia nodded without hesitation. She trusted Lily wholeheartedly now.

Upon agreeing, Anastasia suddenly found it a little strange.

"Didn't you say the poisoning has nothing to do with the flowers and plants? Why do I have to dispose of them?"

"I don't know if it has anything to do with them, but your house is packed! It may get too stuffy if you keep all the plants there. If you want to, put a few simple ferns in there."

After a moment of thought, Lily said, "Bring them to me.I have a place to keep them anyway.Maybe I can use the plants for my research if they are useful."

"all right!"

Anastasia nodded repeatedly.

Now, she would agree to everything Lily said.

"I'll listen to you! I trust you!"

Anastasia emphasized as if she was still sorry for having doubted Lily.Seeing Anastasia's anxiety, Lily put down her silverware and looked up at Anastasia.

'Tasia, don't worry.I know you've failed to lose weight in the past.Besides trying the wrong methods, it's not entirely your fault. The poison might have affected your physical state, and you're unaware of it.

The toxins might be too complex for the general practitioner to detect them.

"Now that you know the source of the problem, solving it won't be an issue.Your body will get better!"Lily said with certainty, " You're still young.Don't worry! The most important thing is to keep a calm mind, understand?"

Her words were gentle but powerful.

Eventually, Anastasia felt herself calming down.

When she looked at Lily again, she wasn't as flustered as before.

"By the way, about your poisoning..."

Initially, Lily wanted to tell Anastasia not to inform her aunt about the plants, but after thinking about it, Austin might have already mentioned it.

"What I'm trying to say is, will your aunt object if you give those plants to me?"

"No! They're mine since she has already given them to me! I don't think my aunt cares much about these things. She never asked about them after they were delivered. There were a few that I didn't know how to tend to, and they eventually died. She never asked about them either,"Anastasia answered affirmatively.

"She probably couldn't tell if a few of them died, but if all of them are gone, I'm sure she'll ask."

"You mean..."

After a moment of hesitation, Anastasia finally understood what Lily meant.

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 1395--"Since we're still unsure of the cause of poisoning, whether it’s because of those plants or the people around you, I don't think you should tell anyone about this.If they ask, you can say I need the plants for my research, so I borrowed them from you."

Anastasia replied, "Okay! You're right!"

Her obedient and adorable appearance reminded Lily of the first time the two met.

When Anastasia demanded Lily return her dress, she was arrogant and even slightly unreasonable.

Ultimately, she was just a little girl who had put up a strong front.

She had gained so much weight over the years that she stopped going out.She did not have many friends either and felt lonely.

Anastasia was from a wealthy family with a father who was a Secretary.

She was the person everyone wanted to curry favors with. She should have been full of confidence and pride.

Instead, her figure had caused her to have low self-esteem.

Anastasia always feared that people would flatter her before turning around and laughing at her.

She also resented her body, but there was nothing she could do about it.

These tormenting emotions must have been terrible for her.

"Don't worry," Lily said softly.

However, she had no idea if this was to comfort Anastasia or herself.

Meanwhile, Thompson's hair was disheveled, his face was haggard, and his eyes were on what was before him in the laboratory.

Austin had been trying to recover the data in the computer.

Although Austin was not a professional in IT, he learned a thing or two from a hacker back in college.

However, if it was anything more advanced, he may be unable to fix it.

Lily had only deleted the experimental data that they uploaded into the cloud.

Still, despite the lousy Internet speed, Thompson managed to cut off the wifi.

Therefore, only part of the data got deleted.

The computer was taken apart and put back together.

Delicate beads of sweat began to form on Austin's forehead.

Thompson held back his words in fear he might disrupt Austin's train of thought and that he might not be able to recover the data.

Ultimately, Thompson could only purse his lips nervously and stare at the monitor.

Lines of words began to form on the screen, all of which were codes.

Austin's fingers danced around the keyboard, punching in more codes.

At this point, he was even considering reaching out to his hacker friend if he failed.

He had not contacted him for years, and Austin had no idea if he could still get in touch with that friend of his.

As he considered his options, a beeping sound echoed from the computer, and words began to form on the screen.

Soon, the page became clear.

Numbers and data gradually became readable.

"You recovered it! We got it!"

Thompson cried out excitedly like a child when he saw the previous experimental data.

He immediately patted Austin on the back.

"Austin! You're amazing!"

However, Austin slowly pushed his hand and moved away.

Then he let out a wry smile.

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 1396--Over the past few years, Austin had been holding onto the title people gave him of being Dominic's secret apprentice.

Others respected him, and people would beg for him to visit their friends or family who had contracted some disease from time to time.

He had grown accustomed to living in the limelight, although he would repeatedly tell himself that he had never explicitly confirmed or denied the truth.

It was all wishful thinking by the public. It had nothing to do with him.

However, guilt started forming in him after such a long time.

On top of that, he also feared that he might be exposed.

Besides competing with Lily, he feared she might come out one day and expose that he was not Dominic's secret apprentice.

Therefore, Austin had been trying to use his strength to prove that he did not need the title to be capable.

Still, he was always a step behind when it came to Lily.

This time, he retrieved the data Lily had deleted.

It was all based on his own skills, thus making him feel a great sense of accomplishment and satisfaction that he could not buy.

Austin stretched his arms and said proudly, "Professor Thompson, now that I’ve retrieved the data, you don't have to worry anymore. We can proceed with the experiment."

"Yes, yes. That's great, Austin! You're amazing!"

Thompson was almost incoherent after the adrenaline rush.

He was so happy that he did not know what to say.He placed his hand on Austin’s shoulder and exclaimed, "This lab would be nothing without you.Now that Lily is gone, you will take her place. In the future, you're responsible for this project!"

"Okay!"

Austin simply agreed.

Now that he had all the experimental data and the results of the previous successful experiments, he believed he would soon succeed.

Maria wes resting at home today.

She had been so busy tat she did not even have time to play cards with her friends or even have any beauty treatments done.

After two days of rest, she went to the Rollins' household for a look.

The last time she met with Austin, he told her not to let Anastasia out to eat.

Instead, she should be taking the medicine he prescribed at home.

He even ordered Maria to keep an eye on Anastasia.

Unexpectedly, as soon as Maria entered the house, the whole place looked different.

It was as if she had entered the wrong house.

She quickly took a few steps back to look at the gate.

‘I’m at the right house, but why is the yard empty? Where are the pots and plants that were here? Every flower and plent that used to be all over the yard is gone"

When she walked into the living room suspiciously, it was even emptier.

Besides the furniture and appliances, the plants, ‘including the cactus on the window sill, were no longer around.

‘Did someone break in?! That was Maria's first suspicion.

Meanwhile, Anastasia was busy talking to the housekeepers, looking very occupied.

which also confirmed Maria's assumption.

However, what thieves were stupid enough to steal every single plant in the house, making it so evident that the house had gotten ransacked? Her eyes widened in surprise.

Thinking that her eyes were playing tricks on her, she rubbed them, only to see that the living room was still empty.

"Tasia, was there a burglary here? Where are all the plants?" She turned around, trying to find them.

After explaining things to the housekeeper, Anastasia turned to look at Maria.

"No, Aunt Maria. I had some people move them away."

"W-Why?"

Maria could not understand it.

"Isn't it good to have plants in the house? They can purify the air, and it's also refreshing to see. Also, did you have to move all of them? There's not a single pot left."

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 1397 --After sitting down with a glass of water, Anastasia sighed and said, "I didn't feel them making the air better or make me feel refreshed.Aunt Maria, you've watched me grow up.Have I ever looked refreshed to you?"

Maria did not answer.

"I feel groggy every day, always on the verge of falling asleep. When I'm awake, I'll be overwhelmed with cravings. How can someone like me ever sit comfortably in the living room? I can barely feel happiness."

Anastasia sighed again and shook her head before sipping her water.

"Tasia, you shouldn't think that way.Even though you're not in the best shape, the miracle doctor will cure you.He even gave you prescriptions.Which reminds me, have you taken them today?" Maria asked anxiously.

Anastasia glanced at her.

She avoided the question and asked, "Aunt Maria, do you think any medications can help me, my body?"

Maria was shocked by this question and quickly replied, "of course! The miracle doctor said you'll be fine.Don't think too much and just listen to him.Remember to take your medicine!"

She also sat on the sofa, feeling a little uncomfortable, probably because she was used to the plants hugging her left and right.

Now, the sudden change of environment felt uncomfortable. She grabbed a cushion and hugged it, feeling the room seemed chilly.

Even Anatasia's gaze was cold.

‘W-What’s going on?’

"Tasia, have you taken your medicine today?" Maria asked again.

When she did not get a response, she turned to ask a nearby housekeeper.

However, Anastasia spoke up.

"Aunt Maria, why is it important if I took medicine or not? I'm already like this anyway. The miracle doctor said I got poisoned.Even if the medicine can help me, wouldn't I get poisoned again if I don't find the culprit? "This person has been poisoning me unconsciously for so many years. It must be someone close to me—someone, I know very well.If I don't find out who they are, it doesn't make a difference whether I take the medication or not."

Anastasia spoke each word slowly as she looked straight at Maria.

To be honest, Anastasia did not think her aunt was behind it.

Among other things, Maria had been working hard to find a doctor for Anastasia, one that could help her.

Even when she refused, Maria would insist and persuade Anastasia to do so.

Even if Maria wanted to curry favor with Cameron, wouldn't it be superfluous for her to poison Anastasia? Could it be that Maria was so confident in herself that she thought the doctor wouldn't be able to detect the poison? If so, why did she bother to invite a miracle doctor over to check on Anastasia? Anastasia could not put the puzzle pieces together and asked tentatively, waiting to see Maria's reaction.

After hearing what she said, Maria also agreed.

"That's right. We should find out who is behind this! Who is the one that can poison you without being discovered? We must look into the housekeepers. We must also tell your father about this so he can send someone to investigate. This is horrible!"

She seemed full of righteous indignation, and her anger did not seem pretentious.

She even agreed to help catch the culprit without any signs of panic or worry on her face.

This puzzled Anastasia.

Of course, she hoped it was not her aunt who had been poisoning her.

After all, Anastasia’s uncle and aunt were her closest relatives apart from her father.

They were the only people she could consider family.

Now that she was confident that her aunt was not behind this, she felt relieved yet a little puzzled.

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 1398--"There's no need for that,"

Anastasia said flatly as she lowered her head to drink more water.

"I didn't tell my father, so you shouldn't either."

"Why?!"

Maria was surprised.

"How could you not tell your father about something so severe?!"

"My father has been worn out recently so I don't want to disturb him.

Besides, if my dad finds out about this, he will surely make a big fuss.I don't want things to get out of hand before I know the truth.

"Since this person is someone close to me, I want to talk with them and ask why they would do this to me."

Then Anastasia raised her head to look at Maria.

"Aunt Maria, will you help me with this?"

Maria was stunned by her question for a moment before quickly recovering and saying, "Yes, of course! Of course, I'l] help you! It's just..."

"We shouldn't discuss this now and keep it a secret between us.Once we've cleared things up, I'll tell my father that you've helped me all this time and even found me a miracle doctor to help cure my illness," Anastasia said with a slight smile.

"l also tell him that it was the miracle doctor's idea to keep things under wraps until things are settled before he starts treating me."

Hearing this, Maria thought it made sense.

Although Anastasia seemed a little cold before, she still trusted Maria.

Even if there were times when Anastasia would snap back at Maria, she still turned to her aunt in the end.

This gave Maria a great sense of comfort and satisfaction. She nodded with a smile.

"Okay. You're right.Let's not tell your father yet. However, you have to be careful.Let me look at the food before you eat it."

"I've also thought about this.Since I've gotten poisoned in my own house, I won't be eating at home anymore.I'll be going over to Lily's place for my meals. That way, the culprit won't stand a chance."

Anastasia came up with this excuse to allow her to go to Lily's place without needing to hide.

"But..."

Maria was startled.

This was not what she meant.

Before she could continue, Anastasia interrupted her, "Aunt Maria, I've thought about it.We shouldn't dismiss the housekeepers here. After all, I don't know who did it.We might accidentally let the culprit go."

"Still, you'd be in danger."

"It's fine. The culprit probably has no intention of killing me soon, seeing that I've been poisoned for so long.I've secretly installed surveillance cameras in the house. If the person tries anything again, there will be evidence.Don't worry, Aunt Maria."

When she said this, Maria began to look around subconsciously as the hairs on her arms stood on ends.

Even though she did nothing, she found it unsettling to be under observation.

"Tasia, is it necessary for you to do all this?"

She could not help but comment, "Why don't you just tell your father and let him-"

"If I tell my dad, it won't benefit us,"

Anastasia chimed in.

"If we find out who this person is, we'd get to know what poison they've been feeding me.That way, it's easier for the doctor to help me.If this gets to my dad, the culprit might bring it to their grave."

Frowning, Maria began to reconsider it and felt that Anastasia was right.

Then she sensed that something was different about her niece.

"Hey, why have I never realized how intelligent you are? Everything you said made perfect sense! Who taught you all this? Is it Lily?!"

Even the mention of Lily caused dark clouds to form over Maria.

However, Anastasia shook her head.

"What’s that supposed to mean, Aunt Maria? Was I stupid before this? I admit I'm fat, but I'm not stupid!"

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 1399--"Yes, yes, you're not stupid!"

However, Maria couldn't help but grumble, "If you're not stupid, how can you get poisoned for so long without knowing?"

"Pardon?"

Anastasia pretended not to hear her.

"Nothing!"

Maria waved.

"But this medicine..."

"I'll bring the medicine to Lily's house daily. From tomorrow onward, I won't be home as much. You shouldn't bother yourself by coming over so often. You can always call me if there's anything urgent,"

Anastasia reminded.

"The miracle doctor advised you not to eat outside and stay at home..."

"He also said I'd gotten poisoned, didn't he?"

Anastasia interrupted.

"I think he wasn't thinking straight that day.He didn't realize that it was more dangerous for me to be at home than outside."

"Tasia..."

"Aunt Maria, I know you're worried for me.What the miracle doctor said makes sense. He's afraid that I would lose control when I ate outside. It'll be fine if I don't eat! I've already told Lily that I will continue to control my food. You don't have to worry about me overindulging."

Anastasia knew her aunt's temper very well.

The more she pushed her, the more lengthy she would be.

If Anastasia had just played along, Maria would be at a loss for words.

Sure enough, Maria was silent for a while.

"Did you tell Lily that you're poisoned?"

"No."

Anastasia shook her head. She didn't even have to say it for Lily to know.

Lily was aware of it before Austin.

As for Anastasia's diet, she had been controlling it by adjusting and controlling her food and calorie intake.

Lily was worried that she might be bored and even prepared a lot of books on calorie intake and the human body at her house so Anastasia could learn more about what was happening.

She read them in her free time and learned a lot.

Initially, she found it boring and would fall asleep after flipping through a few pages.

Later, her spirit gradually improved. She began to read and found a lot of helpful knowledge in the books.

Back then, she needed help understanding the calories in food. She thought everything was so high in calories and fat that she didn't dare to eat anything. She realized after reading those books that everyone has a basal metabolic value every day.

Even when the person was just sitting there doing nothing, they continued to burn calories.

However, the basal metabolism varied from one person to another. Her daily basal metabolism was more than 2000 calories for her height and weight. She wouldn't get fat if she ate within the range.

This gave her a wide range of options regarding food.

Besides fast food, there were many things she could eat.

However, no one had told her about this in the past.

Maybe they did, but she never listened or took it to heart.

She was now taking the initiative to learn everything she could as she tried to understand and get along with her own body.

She was no longer treating herself as an enemy.

Her previous anxious state of mind was slowly easing up.

Maria nodded.

"That's good. However, you shouldn't be going over there so often. The Russell family will be overwhelmed with bad luck soon, and when that happens, Lily might come and pester you for favors."

Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 1400--"What's wrong with the Russell family? What do you mean by bad luck?"

Anastasia immediately became nervous when she heard this. She regarded Lily as her best friend.

Thus, she did not want anything to happen to the Russell family.

It was possible that her aunt was being an alarmist, but as long as that possibility remained, she could not just dismiss it.

"You shouldn't be asking!"

Maria was afraid that she might slip up.

"Aunt Maria, tell me about it! You can't bring it up and not explain! "

Anastasia pestered.

Ultimately, Maria said, "This is no secret.Something is going on with the Russell family's business. There was a collective poisoning incident in one of their factories in Burnwken.Although it wasn't serious at first, Alexander had flown over to investigate.I heard it was chaotic there, with an ongoing war, and there seemed to be a plague.

"Look at it this way.If something happened to Alexander, wouldn't the Russell family be in a mess? By that time, people believed the Russell family was cursed.I'm not trying to be calculative, but I'm just worried that Lily has ulterior motives for approaching you at this time. You should be careful and not let other people take advantage of you, okay?"

However, Anastasia had stopped listening.

After hearing the first part, she realized that she had not seen Alexander around recently, nor did Lily mention anything about him.

Even Galen rarely brought Alexander up.It seemed that he had really gone abroad and had yet to return. It was no wonder that Lily had seemed busy these past few days.

Anastasia believed she was overanalyzing things, but she was unaware that Lily was still supporting her even as this was happening in her own family.

Yet, Anastasia even dared to doubt her.

Thinking of this, Anastasia was immediately washed with guilt.

Then she stood up and ordered, "Someone get the car.I'm going out!"

"Hey, Tasia, where are you going? You're not going to Lily's, are you? Didn't you hear anything I just said? It's best if you don't go there so often. If you're worried, you can always come to my place to eat.I'll get someone to prepare food for you!"

Maria called after Anastasia.

"Aunt Maria, I still have things that I need to do.I'll get going first.I know you care about me.I'll tell Dad that you've always helped me!"

She knew what her uncle and aunt wanted.

They wanted her to say a few good words for them.

Cameron was an uptight and plainspoken man.

Even Anastasia would never act improperly, let alone her father.

With that, she rushed over to the Russell Estate. She didn't expect Lily to be at home.

Back then, Anastasia would come over to find that Lily wasn't home. She would only be home after dinner.

Now that she was home, Anastasia's mind started to spin.

Could something have happened that made Lily stay at home? ""Tasia, you're early today."

Lily was surprised to see Anastasia since it was not even noon yet.

"Lily, you..."

"Lily, you..."

The moment she saw Lily, she got tongue-tied.

"What's wrong?" Lily asked strangely.

"Did something happen in your family?"

Anastasia asked directly after thinking about it.

If she beat around the bush, things might get lost in translation.

In the end, she decided to be upfront about it.

The more she talked, the more confused Lily might get.

Hearing this, Lily was startled.

She didn't understand what Anastasia meant.

"What do you mean?"
