Chapter 551

When the wardrobe door was open, Silas instinctively looked up. Seeing it was Eliana, he heaved a sigh of relief.

Eliana was also relieved to find him and her eyes lit up. She was about to call him, but he quickly shushed her.

Eliana was stunned. So this was the reason why he was apologizing?

Eliana smiled and stroked Silas’ head.

Eliana finally let go of him and softly pinched his small cheeks. “Promise me you won’t hide like this anymore. Okay? Go to school now.”

“Okay.”

Silas was very excited all of a sudden and he smiled happily. Now he knew he and the twins would be friends forever.

The servants heaved a sigh of relief when they heard that Silas was found and willing to go to school now.

Eliana helped him pack up his schoolbag and walked him to the door.

Silas was about to get in the car when something occurred to him. With a hesitant expression, he ran back to Eliana and said in a low voice, “Miss Pierce, I went too far just now. My uncle is actually a nice person…”

Eliana paused for a moment and then couldn’t help laughing.

“I understand. You are his family. He loves you,” she said in a low voice.

Of course she knew that Maurice was not a bad person. However, his quick temper would really hurt his family at times.

As he looked at the beautiful smile on Eliana’s face, a glimmer of hope rose in Silas’s heart.

“Miss Pierce, will you also be my uncle’s family one day?”

He really hoped that Eliana would marry his uncle. In this way, they would all be family, together with Aileen and Adrian. Then they would never be separated.

Maurice was lost in thought for a brief moment. Then he stared at Eliana and said, “I really don’t know how to deal with kids. Silas’ parents left him when he was very young. He almost had no friends before meeting your kids. Ever since you left with your kids, he has been very depressed.”

Eliana’s face became pale with sadness. It was her turn to remain silent. Her heart was heavy with the burden of the guilt that was torturing her.

She knew she was wrong and selfish to have taken a decision that was not beneficial to the kids.

She wanted to keep a good distance from Maurice, so she had deprived the three children of the friendship that they worked at building. It was quite unfair to the children.

Noticing that she was lost in deep thoughts, Maurice quickly had an idea. So, he turned to her and said, “I know you love the kids so much. However, you should know that they miss Silas. Otherwise, the three of them wouldn’t have sneaked out to meet behind your back. Besides, I’m sure that Aileen probably has other friends in the previous kindergarten, right?”

Maurice was a very smart man. A few words from him started to make Eliana reconsider her decision.

Somehow, he was quite right. Eliana could recall that the kids had never been as depressed as they had been recently since she came back to the country with them.

How about if she decided to send the kids back to their previous kindergarten? Would that work out for them?

Eliana was stunned by the bluntness of his words. She was so angry that she snapped at him, “Yes, I quit.”

Even though she had said those words in a fit of anger, it was her decision.

She had always wanted to be a jewelry designer since she was a child and she was full of regret now that she knew she wasn’t going to achieve that dream. However, inheriting the factory would make her late father happy with her.

Maurice stared hard at Eliana’s face. He could sense her strong resolve and surmised that something was wrong.

What problems had she faced?

He was quite certain that she loved jewelry design. It was her greatest passion.

When he had taken her to see the pink diamond necklace that she had designed, he had seen the excitement and satisfaction in her eyes. When she was working on jewelry design, she was always dedicated and consistent.

But now, she suddenly decided that she didn’t want to be a jewelry designer anymore and was giving up her dreams?

Maurice couldn’t just believe it. He decided that there was something behind her refusal. A bigger secret that she was keeping away from him.

“Eliana, I don’t care about this new career of yours. Where do you intend to go now? I have to see you again tonight!”

Nana walked over to them and explained, “If you didn’t come back tonight, these two would have run out to look for you.”

Eliana didn’t come home last night. This morning, Adrian called her because he was worried, but she just canceled his call.

This made the two children frightened and thought that something bad might have happened to her.

Eliana was in a daze. How did he find this place?
