The Alpha’s Exchanged Mate – Chapter 26

Alexander’s POV…

I woke up the following day to the hanging smell of her perfume. I knew she said she would be going to the prison today, but I never assumed it would be this early. I do not like the idea of her visiting her ex-husband in prison, and neither do I like that she has this need to be at peace with him. Like the man f*****g slept with your sister, and you want to make peace?

But after all the conversations we had yesterday, she had asked me if I had visited Sonia since the incident had happened, and I had said no.

When I realized there was a rumor going around the realm about her cheating and being caught in ungodly hours coming out of a particular private house with Ben, I had not believed it. I had thought it was too sudden and stupid to be cheating on me right under my nose. And then I was attacked by the sizzlers and rendered crippled, it was one of the most horrific experiences of my life, and my wife was always absent, it was either she was going to one function or had an engagement.

Some I would even call to confirm, and they would say she had not attended it, it was too glaring to the eyes not to see, but I chose to still remain blind. Then I started noticing her having morning sickness. I wanted to believe she had come done with something, but it was too frequent to be that stupid. Then I asked Caleb to investigate, and my suspicions were confirmed.

She was having an affair with Ben. I didn’t act on the new information I had found out that time because I wanted to know their next move.

Since I had been crippled, Sonia had refused to have s*x with me, but then she started initiating s*x, and I would always refuse her. I then figured out she was trying to push the pregnancy on me.

And that was when I confronted her and Ben.

They had gone out for one of their usual meetups outside town, and I had followed them with Caleb and some of the omega wolves because I knew Ben was a strong Beta and wouldn’t go down without a fight.

We met them in a small cottage house, both in their wolf form, having s*x, and I was disgusted and irritated by the act. We tried to capture them, and as speculated, Ben gave us a hard time, but they were able to tame him down.

Now I am in the car with Caleb, driving to the night howlers penitentiary.

“Are you sure you want to go there?” Caleb asked for the umpteenth time since I told him I wanted to go visit Sonia today at the prison.

“Yes, Caleb, I am sure,” I replied adamantly. Knowing Caleb, he had a lot of unpopular opinions as to why I shouldn’t, but I wasn’t going to listen to him. After my conversation with Edwina last night, I found out that was a part of my truth I had not confronted, and I needed to do so.

“I am sure Caleb,” I repeated again just to stop the look he was giving me through the rearview mirror.

“And if I may ask, what informed your decision to finally see Sonia today?” he said, still keeping his hands firm on the steering wheels and his arms straight.

“I am sure you know how some days can be, just wake up and feel like you need to face a particular chapter of your life,” I replied sarcastically, and he smiled because he understood my humor perfectly well. He took the last turn that led to the female prison, which wasn’t too far from the male.

“And surprisingly, that day happened to be the same day your wife decided to also face hers.” He muttered, and I smiled.

“Coincidence,” I scoffed, and he smiled and swiveled his hands right to park in a good parking space.

“We are here, good luck,” he said.

“Thanks,” the guards immediately came saluting me and even helped me into my wheelchair. As the Alpha, I didn’t have to go through any of the rigorous processes of checking in.

I sat down in the private waiting room, nervously waiting for the door to open so she would work in. I must admit I was both anxious and curious at the same time to know what I would feel about all this. I had instructed the guard not to inform her who had come to see her, so she was clueless about my presence. I had also thought about how much it would take for her to talk to me, but the Sonia I had come to know is always strong. As the door flew open and she walked in with an orange jumpsuit, and her belly protruded, she immediately came to an abrupt halt as her gaze met with mine.

She was shocked, and I could see it written all over her eyes. I was the last person she had expected to see, and when the door banged shut, locking us inside, she startled back. Reality and all I had experienced from her came back as a vivid memory to me.

From the Deceit, lies, rejection, and everything in between. Sonia had done what no other woman had ever done to me, and I couldn’t blame her.

She wanted a particular kind of life, and she felt I couldn’t give it to her.

Shit!!!!

Shit!!!!

Why was I making excuses for her? Edwina had started rubbing off on me, and I needed to think clearly. I cleared my throat.

“Sit down,” I said in an authoritative tone.

She gently sat down. I could help but stare at her belly, which was already having a baby bump. I was so annoyed knowing that the child was a product of lies.

“I am surprised to see you here, ” she finally said as she settled into her chair and gently placed her hands on the table.

“I decided that I needed some clarity and closure, and only you can give me that on this specific topic,” I said to her sincerely. I was way past the stage where I would mince words and try to play around before hitting the point.

“I know I owe you an explanation for all I did, but before I give it to you, I want you to know that truly, I am sorry and regret all I did.”

“Just a few months in prison, and you are already a changed person. I love your reform,” I replied sarcastically. This wasn’t what I wanted. I wanted to justify my actions and know that I was right to keep her here this long without any trial. And here she is, coming to me with a half-baked apology as a supposedly changed being.

“Sonia, I am not here to demand any apology from you. If I am, to be honest, I would rather you don’t give any. I just needed to know why,”

Her eyes were already becoming teary. It must be the pregnancy hormone. I heard women who are pregnant tend to get emotional a lot, and so her reaction is understandable.

“I understand. You must hate me now, and honestly, I deserve all the hate you throw at me, but I just want you to know I regret it. I am so sorry and willing to serve any kind of punishment you want to assign to me, even if it is the death sentence__.”

“Please stop all this, Sonia,” I pleaded. It broke me to see her cry. I had never seen her cry since we got married, and today she was all broken and shattered into pieces.

“I mean it, I deserve it, and I will willingly take it with no complaint. Please don’t just kill me yet. Allow me to give birth to this child and give it to my sister, Edwina. She would be a better mother than me,”

With the mention of Edwina’s name, I knew I wasn’t strong enough to have this conversation with her today. I wheeled myself to the door and knocked once she broke down to the floor crying, and as soon as the guard opened the door, I strode away.

Today isn’t the day I face my past.

The Alpha’s Exchanged Mate – Chapter 27

Edwina’s POV…

The last time I was sitting at this desk, glaring through his eyes and all the lies he had told me.

I hated myself for believing what he had told me all those nights when he came home smelling like expensive female cologne. Whenever I confronted him about my suspicions, he had flared up angrily and accused me of not trusting him.

I wish I had listened to my instinct and investigated more. I wish I had chosen not to believe him. I should have analyzed our situation and how often he had unofficial trips to go, and I should have followed him to some of his so-called work functions. But I was the faithful wife who always stayed home waiting for her cheating husband to return home.

If I am to be honest with myself, I had always known that Ben was cheating on me, and he had more skeletons to hide in his cupboard than he let me in on. But the only thing I had not expected was that he was having a relationship with my sister, my flesh and b***d. That was the height of deception for me, and it hurts especially coming from a man who had made me believe for a slight second; that I was wanted.

You know the ugly truth about lies; there is always a truth in what we try to feed ourselves to satisfy the nasty reality of the life we live.

My hands were tingling, and I kept tapping my legs on the floor, waiting for the door to open. I had sworn to myself to be stronger this time. The last time as soon as Ben called my name, I had run out of the prison, and I regretted coming when my heart was not ready to face my truth in this form. The door opened, and I knew the day of reckoning had come. If I couldn’t face him today, I am not sure there’s ever a world where I would be able to face him.

He walked into the room looking strained. There was a fresh wound cut on his face; it wasn’t there the last time I had come. He looked tired and weary. He only looked this way whenever he came back from the battlefield.

This place must be a living hell for him. I held my hand clenched together and kept my gaze on him. I didn’t want to keep thinking of all the hurtful things he had done to me when I could face him and ask why.

“Edwina, you are here again,” he muttered, his voice sounding hoarse and bitter. There was something about him that had changed in this place. I couldn’t place my fingers on it, but I knew he was different.

“I decided that I needed some answers,” I replied, almost whispering. I knew I had to sound confident and not weak. I am here to confront a part of me that has cost me a lot of pain. I needed to be fierce, even if it meant I would pretend to be.

“I have a lot of questions to ask you, I was looking forward to a conversation with you before you sheepishly ran out the last time you were here. I hope you know I don’t bite, right?” He was making a mockery of my weakness. I knew him so much to tell his devilish unfriendly comment wasn’t coming from a place of empathy but ridicule.

“Well, I am here now, aren’t I?” I asked with a smirk on my face as I realized this man had not so much grip on me as I thought. I knew all his tactics and childish attempts to play with my heart and emotions.

“Well, let’s hope you don’t run away again,” he said with a grin on his face, and I sighed.

“First of all, how is it finally being the Luna.” He wasn’t asking. I almost forgot that Alex had come here to cut the ties between Ben and I before getting married to me.

“Well, I guess that’s who I was always meant to be,”

He burst into an uproar of laughter, and I was infuriated by that. A lot of eyes were on us at this moment. I didn’t request a private room because I didn’t want to be in an enclosed space with him.

I placed my hands on the table in order to look more confident than I felt.

He smiled.

“Well two deformed people suit each other,” he retorted, and I grimaced. I knew what he was doing, but I wasn’t going to allow him to get to me, not today or tomorrow.

“I know what you are doing Ben, I know how your sick mind works and how crazy you get when you do not have control of your outcome__” I tried to combat before he interrupted me abruptly.

“I am not sure you know me that much.” He paused and smiled mischievously, “if you did, how come you weren’t aware when I was f*****g your sister right in your face?”

My hands tingled, I felt like reaching out to him and slapping him, but that would mean he has gotten his way and won a battle on what is and what is not.

I knew this had to be the time I gave the most silicon smile I could pull off.

“Well, I knew you were cheating, I didn’t know you could be that foolish to cheat on me with my sister who turns out to be the Alpha’s Luna. I knew you were dumb but I never thought that dumb,”

His veins appeared through his skull as he simmered in resentment.

“I can see f*****g a cripple man has made you bold to speak to me rudely,” he titled his head forward.

“Tell me, Edwina, does he f**k you the way I do? Or do you get to do all the hard work while he sits there like a log of wood,” I knew that was the height of it for me?

I came here for some answers, but my conversation with Ben was leading to that of resentment and bitterness. And I didn’t want it to take that route.

“Ben, what do you intend to do with the child my sister is carrying for you?” I asked. I didn’t come here to condescend to his level. I was way above that. I had learned to live through the pain, guilt, and shame. I am still living through it all.

“I don’t know, Sonia won’t speak to me,” he was much quieter now, and it was almost like he wasn’t the Ben who was just reigning insults on me and trying to agitate me.

“How did you try to reach out to her?”

I asked, and he glared at me. It was almost like he was reading through my expression to know if I was being sincere about it or not.

I was being sincere; I knew they had both done me wrong, and I should be angry with them. I am still mad at them if I am to be completely honest with myself. Sometimes I think about what they did and imagine how they would be making a big fool out of me.

I flashed back to a moment when Sonia had come to visit me, which was odd for me. I was on my way out to get some work done in the sizzler’s territory, and Ben was around. Sonia offered to wait for me at home till I was back, and I naively left her there. I can only wonder how many s*x positions they had done in my room. But with all that hurt and resentment, I couldn’t pour out my frustration on that child who is innocent of the sin of its parents.

“I reached out to her from the prison cell. Once she hears my voice, she hangs up the phone. I don’t know what to do,” he muttered, and for once, I could almost see the humanity in him.

“I can talk to her for you, but you are yet to tell me what you want to do with the child. You are stuck in prison and will probably be here for a long time. Because the Alpha resents you, he is not part of your biggest fan.” I explained to him.

He sighed.

“I don’t need the Alpha’s approval to be a father to my child,” he mumbled out.

“You say that and you know your fate is determined by him, your offense is much, I think you should help Sonia out,”

He gazed at me, and I could see the confusion in his eyes.

“How do I help her out?” He inquired.

“You can say you coerced her into a relationship with you, it would be an obvious lie, but the court would have to take your word for it and let her free. She would be able to take care of the kid and you would be part of that,” I explained to him, and all of a sudden, he burst out laughing again.

This time he was hitting the table loudly.

“Not everyone will foolishly sacrifice themselves, Edwina. I would rather escape from this place and have my freedom than foolishly sacrifice myself to Sonia or a kid that won’t get to know me as his father,”

My eyes widened then. Did he just say he wanted to escape?

The Alpha’s Exchanged Mate – Chapter 28

Edwina’s POV…

Going home, I was truly confused about the conversation I had just had with Ben. He had just openly told me he was planning to escape, and I wasn’t sure if I wanted to tell Alex. It could just be his irrational part speaking again, but then I knew Ben. There was nothing irrational about him. When he says something, he almost always does it, and that’s what scares me about all these. I needed to make one more stop before going back home. I needed to see my sister.

The last time I was there, we left things a little bit scattered, especially with her crazy idea of Alex forgiving her one day.

She is still my sister, and I needed to stand by her. I might have chosen Ben to be my husband, but she was made my sister by design, even though it wasn’t always like that.

I sat in the car; after instructing the driver to take me to the female prison, which wasn’t that far, I recalled this was the same car I had f****d Alex in. It was crazy that I didn’t care if the driver would hear us, I was moaning so loud, and he was letting out soft g****s. Sometimes I wonder how it is for him to be in his wolf form. Ben had once tried to have s*x with me in his wolf form since I was wolfless, but I couldn’t just bear it. It was more like having s*x with a dog. I couldn’t bear it at all.

But unlike with Ben, I was curious to see Alpha Alex in his wolf form. There is this certain fire in his eyes that burns anytime we have s*x, and he lets out the small howling sound.

I am curious as to how he sucks in his wolf form. But I heard that ever since he was injured and left crippled, he had been unable to change to his wolf form, and that was why a lot of women considered him weak.

They said it leaves the night howlers’ territory vulnerable to attack because other people in the realm are aware of how defenseless the Alpha is.

I don’t want to see things the way they do because he had been ruling the night howlers and commanding the soldiers effectively even in this state.

I reached the female penitentiary and headed straight to the private waiting room. I was becoming conversant with the prison area and what it is to stay here. As I waited for Sonia, I kept thinking of how things had changed for us in the space of a few months. Whoever knew that this situation would make us closer, it was truly hard to look past her betrayal especially considering all that she had done to me in the past, and how she and my father had maltreated me, my mind wandered off a bit to one of those horrible moments.

***FLASHBACK***

My tears hit the floor for the second time. It wasn’t tears of pain but of pleading.

I was pleading with my father to call off this absurd match. He had just arrived from some consultancy, and the wolf expert had told him that they needed to bring out the wolf in me through brutal combat. He claimed I had a wolf, but it was recessive and asleep. My mum is a wolf. She was one of the strongest female warrior wolves around. She was fierce and would go into combat. She and my dad met on the battlefield and fell in love. When they had my sister, they were so happy, especially when it shined golden on the second day, indicating the wolf in her.

But when they had me, he waited throughout the second day alone for my wolf to emerge. At this point, he was in pain, not because I wasn’t showing any sign of having a wolf but because my mum had died during childbirth. It was devastating for him to lose the love of his life in such a way, and then as the day went by, I was still not showing any sign of having a wolf in me. He became concerned and began to take little me to all kinds of wolf healers and spiritualists. After most of them supposedly tried their best and to no avail, they would all say the same thing that I had no wolf.

Being one of the strongest warriors and a family built on war, it was unacceptable to my father. He would become an object of mockery, so he said.

“Never,” he screamed one night. ” no child of mine would be deficient,”

I detested that word, and it was the word that people had used the most frequently to refer to me. They had called me deficient more times than I could count in my life.

They had told him that this was the last resort, that if the wolf in me didn’t emerge this way, then it never would.

I stood before my sister on the battlefield of b***d, I was just fifteen years old, and I knew I couldn’t stand the physical strength of my sister, talk more of her wolf form.

“Don’t worry, I would go easy on you, ” she said with an evil smirk on her face, and I knew she was going to tear me limb by limb. She had always joked about this day. She said she would do it with no remorse. I knew she would not. A small crowd had gathered to watch the show. I felt like a bull, just that I wasn’t powerful. She arched her back as she quickly shifted to her wolf form. Shifting to her wolf form had been made so easy for her. She had mastered the art of it because she was trained by the best soldier there was.

Sometimes I do wonder if my mum had been alive, she would stand them doing this to her daughter but then again, they had also blamed me for her death, and I found it unfair. I wasn’t the moon goddess. I didn’t have the power of death and life in me.

“Please daddy, ” I cried out to him. I was pleading and begging for mercy.

“I am doing this for your own good,” he responded with no remorse in his eyes.

“Am I not your daughter, why would you watch me die?” I asked, puzzled about the kind of cruelty in his eyes.

” You are better off dead than without a wolf,” he finally said as he dropped down his hands and Sonia charged toward me. I had tried to outrun her, but she turbocharged and caught up with me. In a split of seconds, I had four broken bones, torn muscles, dislocation, and multiple separations. I had never felt such physical pain before caused by my own sister. It took months for me to heal after that.

But even with that experience, I was lucky because after regaining consciousness, the healer who had treated me had told me that I barely made it out with my life.

After that day, my father wouldn’t speak to me again because I had frustrated his last efforts of ever letting out my “wolf.”

*** PRESENT DAY***

When she walked into the room, she paused, and I saw a sense of disappointment on her face.

“Who were you expecting it to be,” I immediately teased with a smile on my face as I stood up to hug her though we were hindered from a full hug due to her already protruded baby bump.

“I thought it was Alex who had come back,” she replied, and I paused mid-hug.

I was aware Alex had planned to come and see my sister. Suddenly I became nervous. What if he had told her about the marriage, just like he had done with Ben? But that was part of my agreement with him that he wasn’t going to say to her.

Then again, if he had, she wouldn’t be hugging me. She would have welcomed me with a slap on my face.

“Really?” I was still puzzled by his purpose of visit but didn’t want to come off as desperate to know the reason why.

“Yes, though we didn’t talk much, I think he was overwhelmed by all this. This is the first time ever since I hurt him we had seen.” She said as we headed back to the table and sat opposite each other.

“You guys have not seen each other since all this started?” I asked, even though I was perfectly aware of the answer.

“Yes, but I am glad I saw him today,” she said with a smile on her face.

“Why?” I asked briefly again, trying to be careful with my words in order not to come off as too inquisitive.

“Because it made me realize how wrong I was by leaving him or cheating on him.” She paused and reached out for my hand, “he had been the most affected by all this,”

Was she f*****g kidding me? Was she trying to invalidate my struggles, my sister f****d my husband, and I am not the least affected?

“Don’t get me wrong, I know it had been a lot on you, and it had not been easy, but he was left crippled by all this,”

“He was left crippled by a battle,” I corrected her almost defensively, and she paused for a second.

“When Ben found out I was pregnant, he allied with the sizzlers to kill Alpha Alex so that we can be together,”

My eyes widened at this new sense of revelation, so the battle with the sizzlers was an attempt by them to get away with cheating. That act alone is treason, and it is punishable by death.

“You are the only one I am telling this to, but I think Alpha Alex wants to forgive me. Thank God you didn’t accept his proposal. At least now I have a little hope,” she said, sounding optimistic, and I couldn’t help but feel down.

What would happen if she would ever find out that I got married to Alex?

Sonia would kill me.

The Alpha’s Exchanged Mate – Chapter 29

Alexander’s POV…

I felt so weak. Caleb kept looking at me on our way back; he knew I wasn’t able to confront Sonia, considering the amount of time I had stayed there. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to face her, but I felt I wasn’t ready.

Truth be told, I could say I loved Sonia, and she meant the world to me at a point in my life. But getting the kind of betrayal I did from her came as a blow to me, and it changed my perspective on love. And now, on the other hand, there is Edwina. I think I respect the woman she is, and I like her, but she still seems to be so in love with Ben. After all that undeserving prick had done to her, she still chose to love him. Her love is loyal, and I think that’s the kind of love I need, not the sort that Sonia gave, which was only loyal to me in certain conditions.

As I wheeled myself into the high-rise building of my company and greetings flew from left and right, I could only wave. Since I got married, this was the first time I showed up to work, and the only reason I had come was that I had an extremely important meeting with the head of the sizzlers, Alpha Bethel.

I was shocked when I received the email from my Secretary Ramona about the meeting. This was the last meeting I was expecting to happen.

Since the time they attacked the night howlers and crippled me, there had not been any form of communication with them.

I wheeled past the conference room where I saw Alpha Bethel sitting down with his Beta Andrew, and three of his Omega stood outside. It was a see-through glass window so I could observe everything from my office.

When entering a rival territory, it is only sensible to go prepared, and that is what Alpha Bethel did. Ramona, my secretary, knocked and impatiently entered my office.

“Sir, they have been waiting for over thirty minutes,” she mumbled.

“Good morning to you too, Ramona,” Caleb, who was standing beside me, replied, and I smiled.

“I am sorry, Alpha Alexander,” she said, facing me and rolling her eyes at Caleb, “Good morning, sir. The guests are waiting in the conference room,” she said, this time composing herself the more.

I grinned. “Thank you, Ramona. Inform them I will be here shortly,”

“Okay, sir,” she replied and left the room.

“What is your problem with Ramona? You are always countering her.” I turned to Caleb with a smile on my face.

“I don’t like how she can be so impulsive at times,” he replied subtly.

“I agree to that, but you can’t deny she gets the job done,” I replied to him, and he sighed.

“And makes a lot of mistakes,” he added.

“Well, don’t we all? Are you sure this is only because of her impulsive nature or because she refused your proposal to mate her,”

He laughed out hysterically.

“She said she only wanted an Alpha or Beta as her mate. Now the Alpha is married twice without even considering her and the Beta turns out to be a piece of trash, so it’s her loss,”

I let out an uproar of laughter, especially knowing that Caleb liked Ramona, but her rejection had made him resentful towards her.

“So why are you stalling?” He finally asked.

I glared again at the conference room across the hall and still saw them patiently waiting for me. My hand raised the cup off the table, there was a slightly hot coffee on it, and I took a sip of it.

“I wanted to relax a little before going out there to meet them, I am not sure exactly what they want.”

“Hmmm,” Caleb sighed.

I wasn’t scared, but I wasn’t prepared for this meeting. The last time I had this meeting with the sizzlers had led to the battle that caused me to be crippled and lose half of my soldiers.

An alpha isn’t supposed to run from a battle, but I wasn’t ready for it. I didn’t want to have to go to fight now. I haven’t gotten the full effect of this pretense of mine to be crippled.

If a battle is declared, I would have to reveal that I could move and not be crippled because I wouldn’t be seated in a wheelchair while my soldiers go to battle for me.

“I know they will feel this is the right time to make the final strike towards capturing the night howlers’ territory. Look at it, you aren’t in the best position to battle, and our Beta is In prison,” Caleb outlined, and I sighed. He is truly right because if there is any time for an attack, then it should be now.

Due to the realm’s existing tradition, no clan or pack of wolves is allowed to attack without giving any prior notice or laying down their terms for battle and the possibility of settlement.

The last time a clan had attacked without prior notice, it had led to the mass genocide of the other pack. It was brutal. But the moon goddess was displeased by that action and sent a horrible plague to wipe off the other clan. When is balance in the realm, it creates room for orderliness.

“I know that’s why they are here. We are in the most vulnerable state; the last time we went to battle, we lost quite a good number of soldiers. We haven’t recuperated from the attack, and I don’t think we can stand another battle,” I lamented sincerely, and that’s why I appreciated my relationship with Caleb. I could say my truth to him and not bother that he would see me as weak.

“And you know that since the last time, a lot of our soldiers had also sworn allegiance to the sizzlers and left the pack.”

Damn unfaithful followers aren’t willing to die for a cause that had protected them and their children for years.

“So, what do you think we should do?” I asked Caleb because, at this point, I was indeed out of options.

“I think we should hear their settlement deal and if it is something we can afford to lose then we should consider it because if we go to war, we will lose badly and that’s not what we want,”

I let out an exasperated gasp; somehow, I felt he was right because even if I left this crippled state, what is the possibility of winning this battle?

I glared at him, and I sighed.

I signaled for him to move me back to my wheelchair, and he helped me lower my back to sit on it, this was one hard decision to make, but I think that was the only option.

I wheeled myself towards the conference room, and I paused at the door as I saw Caleb lingering almost close to the conference room outside.

“What are you doing?” I asked.

“I am just an omega wolf, it is not my place to be in such a meeting,” he replied calmly.

“From today you are my Beta and would be allowed to attend all meetings,” I declared.

“No sir, I am not worth it,”

“Yes, you are. If there is anyone who has stood by my side unconditionally through it all, it is you. You deserve to be the Beta and I will start all the procedures for the transfer of Ben’s lineage to yours.”

I could see his eyes filling with tears.

“Thank you, Alpha Alex, I am honored,”

I smiled and opened the door with Caleb standing beside me.

It is time to discuss the war.

The Alpha’s Exchanged Mate – Chapter 30

Alexander’s POV…

It is said we find peace in love and war, and I might agree with that, my mind trailed back to that day my life flashed through my eyes, and I couldn’t help but wonder what exactly would be the legacy I leave behind. Before the attack, I had woken to make sweet love to my Luna Sonia.

She was lying on the bed, half-naked. She must have slept off waiting for me that way. I had a late night and had slept in the study.

After the war meeting, I knew the hours were close, and I spent all night strategizing with Ben. He knew all my plans. He knew all the strategies and Plan B. I was agitated because I didn’t know exactly how the attack would be planned. During the settlement negotiation, I had tried my best for us to come to a common ground because I didn’t want to engage in war. The settlement had demanded half of the night howlers’ territory, and that was like giving all of us to them, and that was a big negative to me.

I sat on the bed where her legs were wide spread apart. I love how beautiful she looks when she sleeps. She was just on black lace lingerie, and I imagined how disappointed she must have been last night when I had not come back.

I placed a little k**s on her neck, and she moved to the other side of the bed.

“Hey,” I said to her, and she gently opened her eyes, and a half smile appeared on her face.

“Hey,” she gawked at me, “You finally come to bed, what time is it?” She asked, still trying to shake the sleep off her face.

“I have been waiting all night for you,” she yawned, and I smiled at her. There was a lot on my mind, and most of it had to do with the battle we were to face today.

“What is on your mind, darling,” She said with a smile on her face as she sat up.

“Nothing, just want to k**s and make sweet love to you now,”

my hands were back on her, long slender fingers running through her skin, leaving a wake of fire burning through her body. My hands trailed down her neck as she let out a small moaning sound.

“I wanted to f**k you last night,” she whispered to my ears.

“We can always f**k this morning,”

My mouth was covering hers again, kissing her hungrily, and Sonia could feel all other thoughts being pushed to the side, her entire focus centered on the feeling of my lips against hers, my tongue sweeping over them, making a heated pool at her entrance. I wasn’t thinking of the battle anymore or the potential loss of lives that might happen this morning.

She felt herself being lifted off her feet, and she wrapped her legs around me, pulling me closer to the k**s. Sonia shuddered with even more pleasure. After a minute of tongue dancing, I placed her gently on her feet again.

She heard the sound of the zipper in the quiet room before the feeling of cold air kissed her skin. Her lingering fell off her frame, pooling at her feet, and she could hear the sharp intake of air from me. Sonia was clad in black lace panties and a lacy bra. The material complimented her fair skin.

“You’re mine and would always be mine,” I whispered into her ears, pushing her to lay on the bed, and just like that, I pulled her towards me and crashed our mouths together, moving my hands behind her to massage her full round a*s. My mouth left hers to trail down her jaw and neck, teeth nipping and sucking lightly, and my hands gripped her h**s hard, making Sonia gasp out a small “f**k!” she was already soaking wet, and I could tell it.

I smirked against her neck before lifting my head from its spot where my nose rested, and Sonia felt something inside her chest warm at seeing the mischievous expression adorning my features. “Mmmm…” the words escaped her mouth before she could control them.

My hand moved to cup her breast, and Sonia felt herself squirt slightly in my grip. I moved one hand to her thighs, holding her tight to stop her from moving too much. I unclasped the hook of her bra in one fluid motion, hissing at the sight of perky pink nipples pointed straight at me. Not wasting any more time, I dipped my head and took a nipple in my mouth, teasing the hard bud with my tongue.

Sonia tried to move against the restraint of my hands on her thighs, trying to escape the onslaught on her nipples that sent waves of pleasure pouring down her body, almost too much to bear, but my arm didn’t let go of her, and neither did my tongue let up its ministrations. I moved a hand to her thong, hooking a finger to the band and pulling them down her legs. If this was the last time I get to f**k her this intensely, I wanted to let her feel it with every fiber of being in her.

“If we get defeated today, don’t stay; run,” I said, and I could see her shaking her head through my mouth while still kissing hers.

“Don’t think about it,” she muttered, “just f**k me,”

I g*****d at the sight of her dripping entrance, wasting no time in dipping a finger into her wet heat, Sonia bucked up in response, and my face lit up in a mischievous grin at the action of thrusting my middle finger into her wetness. She cried out, arching her back slightly and letting out small whimpers. I removed my finger only to replace it with another. I found her clit in no time and teased the sensitive spot with my thumb, enjoying the way her legs trembled.

I knew I had to take it slowly on her knowing full well this would be her first time.

When I finally withdrew, Sonia felt like crying with how much she wanted me again. I pulled her into a sitting position and began peppering her face with gentle k****s. Kissing her cheeks and forehead before I pressed a tender k**s against her lips. Sonia couldn’t stop the smile on her face. She is sweet.

It’s been a while since we made sweet love like this, and I almost felt I had lost it.

And although the situation they were in was far from ideal, she couldn’t help the warm feeling that overtook her. She reached for my suit, feeling awkward as she was sitting naked in front of a fully clothed man and the passion that danced in my eyes made her squeeze her legs to contain her l**t.

I got up from the bed to strip off the rest of my clothes. Sonia’s eyes darkened when her eyes fell on my length. It was bigger than anything she had ever seen. It was thick and long with a huge mushroom head that curved up. Too weighty to stand straight up, a ragged sound tore from Sonia’s throat.

As I approached, Sonia couldn’t help but reach for my c**k, running her hand around it to try and get a better grasp. I seemed to appreciate it because he let out a deep breathy m**n, and I dropped myself down onto the bed, resting elbows on either side of her head.

I kissed her once more before leaning forward, not being able to control myself again. I pushed my e******n deep into her tight body, causing Sonia to scream. I continued to f**k her, slowly increasing the pace until we reached a perfect rhythm of in and out. Her hand clenched the blankets beneath them, trying to hold on, but it wasn’t enough, and I was already hitting the right place.

Sonia whimpered and grabbed a fistful of my hair, trying desperately to not drool in pleasure. She could already feel her o****m begin to build, begging me not to stop. Waves after waves of pleasure ran through her body, and Sonia couldn’t help the m***s and screams that escaped her mouth. She felt entirely consumed by me, and her body yearned for more and more.

She felt my hands run across her breasts, and soon enough, I was leaning forward, taking an erect nipple into my mouth, sucking, licking, and feasting on it. Sonia shivered at the feeling, throwing her head backward and arching her back off the bed.

I pulled completely out of Sonia’s body and teased her entrance with my c**k enjoying how she mewled and pleaded, and in one fluid motion, I slammed back in again. I began to pump in and out of her faster and faster. The friction between us caused mixed sparks of pleasure and pain, and Sonia could feel everything starting to turn hot and heavy.

She screamed when her o****m came rushing over her, tears pricking at her eyes when I started to thrust deeper. It felt so good, so so good. she wasn’t sure if it was the effects of the alcohol that made the sensations highly pleasurable or if it was the expertise of my f*****g so well into her, but her entire body screamed with pleasure as I continued to f**k in and out of her p***y, riding out her o****m and causing a second one to start to build in her abdomen.

She opened her eyes, tears still streaming down her face, and saw that my eyes were closed. It seemed to be in some sort of deep concentration. For a moment, Sonia wondered; I could see it in her eyes. She wanted more of me inside her so bad that she practically clawed at me, wanting me, needing me. Locking her legs behind my back, she pushed me even deeper inside her heat.

Suddenly my h**s stopped their thrusting, causing all the build-up in Sonia’s abdomen to halt. She bit down a scream at the pause and looked up at me with pleading eyes. Then I lowered my mouth to her ear.

“Do you want to cum again my Luna?” The endearment mixed with the low drawl of my voice caused Sonia to burn in l**t, shuddering heavily.

“Yes, please. please let me cum, please, please.” The pleas fell heavily from her mouth, almost like a prayer. Her eyes squeezed tight at the building in her abdomen. Her world spun as I picked up the heavy pace from where I had stopped, f*****g her with deep, long strokes. She didn’t want me to stop, her body ached for me to keep going, and she was getting desperate.

***PRESENT DAY***

If I want to go down again to another battle, let me go down f*****g Edwina out of love and satisfying myself in her glory.

“What are your settlement terms?” I turned to face Alpha Bethel, who had just laid out his intention to declare war against the night howlers. It was no new thing because I knew that was why he came here.

He grinned,” This time, we are not asking for much, we won’t be asking for half of your territory,”

“Then what are you asking for?” I blurted out impatiently.

“We only demand you give us your current Luna in exchange for peace,”

My jaw dropped.

You’ve got to be f*****g kidding me. Did these people just ask for Edwina in exchange for peace?

There was no f*****g way this was happening.

But that shouldn’t be the question I ask myself, and I glared at Alpha Bethel and then straight back at Caleb, who sat beside me.

The question I should ask myself is why out of all things, they could demand they just want Edwina.
