Ch. 71..80

Chapter 71: Paranoid Dog Man Late at night.

Qiao Ruoxin lay in bed, scrolling through Mo Chen’s Weibo.

A nameless sorrow flitted through her eyes.

This damn man, just like the comments said, never posted on Weibo, but every year on her birthday, he’d share a photo of fireworks.

Suddenly, a thin mist formed in her eyes.

When she was with Mo Chen, he would set off grand fireworks for her birthday every year.

She hadn’t expected that, even two years after they broke up, Mo Chen would continue to set off fireworks on her birthday.

She thought of the brilliant fireworks bursting in the night sky, and imagined the man’s tall figure standing there, awkward and forlorn…

What was Mo Chen thinking at that moment?

Qiao Ruoxin muttered to herself softly, “Obsessive jerk…”

The next day.

In the dance studio.

The program had reached the group competition stage.

Qiao Ruoxin was in Class A, along with Kong Ling and Song Yingying.

They were discussing who should take the C position for this performance.

Song Yingying: “It definitely should be Qiao Ruoxin, she’s a natural C position.”

The rest fell silent, exchanging glances.

After all, who participating in the program didn’t want to debut? Who didn’t yearn for the C position?

Normally timid, Kong Ling suddenly spoke up: “This time… can I take the C position?”

Everyone was shocked.

Qiao Ruoxin laughed: “Sure, if everyone agrees I have no objections. It’s not like I own the spot.”

Of course, the others agreed, as long as the C position wasn’t Qiao Ruoxin, they still had hope.

After a whole day of training, as evening approached and everyone had left, Qiao Ruoxin was still practicing.

Song Yingying, exhausted, collapsed on the floor and looked up at her: “You’re not even the C position anymore, why so serious?”

She paused, catching her breath: “Just because I’m not the C position I don’t need to practice? Wait for me ten more minutes.”

Kong Ling, preparing to leave, overheard Qiao Ruoxin’s words, fell silent for a few seconds, then left.

As Kong Ling reached the dormitory corridor, someone tapped her shoulder: “Kong Ling, could you help me bring this practice outfit to Qiao Ruoxin’s room?”

“Oh, sure.” Kong Ling took the clothes and smiled a little.

Then, she headed towards Qiao Ruoxin’s room.

Completely unprepared, when she pushed the door open, Kong Ling let out a yelp: “Ah!”

She stared dumbfounded at a man sitting on the pink bed inside, the son of Asia’s richest man, Mo Chen.

Mo Chen looked up at the sound of the woman’s scream, his brow furrowing in displeasure: “Shut up!”

“I… I’m sorry…”

The man glanced at Kong Ling coldly and said in a deep voice: “Qiao Ruoxin isn’t here.”

Kong Ling placed the clothes aside: “I came to deliver these clothes for her.”

Then, she turned to leave.

But for some reason, in that moment, envy surged through her, and Kong Ling didn’t understand why.

In a shameless move, she turned to tell the man: “Ruoxin is in the practice room, it might be another hour or two before she returns.”

A dark cloud settled over Mo Chen’s handsome face before he stood and left.

As he passed Kong Ling, his voice was ice cold: “Thanks.”

Watching Mo Chen’s retreating figure, Kong Ling felt her heart stir.

Kong Ling covered her chest with her hand, unable to describe her feelings.

Not knowing how long she stood there, Qiao Ruoxin appeared before her, waving a hand in front of her face: “What are you spacing out about in my room?”

Kong Ling snapped back to reality: “Uh… I brought you your clothes.”

“Oh, thanks.”

“It’s nothing, I’ll be going now.”

Kong Ling didn’t mention encountering Mo Chen at all.

Chapter 72: But I Found I Seem to Like You More Qiao Ruoxin returned to her room, took a shower, and then walked onto the balcony to enjoy the breeze.

Her phone rang.

She went back into the room to grab her phone, then stepped onto the balcony to answer the call.

“Who’s this?”

“How are you still acting like a child, thinking if you block my number, I can’t call you?”

Hearing that voice, Qiao Ruoxin’s entire being went on high alert, “Are you sick? Why aren’t you sticking to your Jiang Ruolin instead of calling me? She’s got feelings for you now, doesn’t she?”

“But I’ve found I might like you more.”

“Get lost!”

“I saw your first performance; it was pretty good, so I voted for you with five million votes.”

Qiao Ruoxin immediately hung up, not wanting to hear another word, and certainly not needing that lunatic’s votes.

On the third day, in the afternoon.

After the group competition recording ended, Qiao Ruoxin returned to her room to take a short nap before leaving.

Unexpectedly, Lan Ke gave her a call.

She lazily answered, “Ake, what’s up…”

“We’re all at the Mo Family’s golf course; hurry over! I feel like your crisis is upon us!”

Qiao Ruoxin’s eyes snapped open, instantly awake.

“What did you say?”

“Don’t you know? Mr. Mo is entertaining that World Bank deputy director’s daughter. I keep seeing this woman edging closer to Mr. Mo, tsk tsk.”

She sat up, “I’m on my way!”

Damn it!

Another one trying to steal her ex-boyfriend!

Why were all her exes so damn attractive, drawing admirers wherever they went?

Two hours later.

Mo Family golf course.

When Qiao Ruoxin arrived, she saw everyone seated in a row, watching a handsome man and beautiful woman playing golf in the distance.

Bai Junyan: “Little sis, why’d you take so long to get here? If you had been any later, those two might as well have gotten married.”

Lan Ke: “How can you say that? Didn’t you see Mr. Mo has been avoiding that woman the whole time?”

Gu Mocheng: “I feel like Ms. Jiang is putting on a show for us.”

Ji Haochuan: “I finally have time to play golf today, and here Mr. Mo is neglecting us.”

Lu Siheng: “It’s the old man’s orders; it’s his responsibility, too.”

Qiao Ruoxin listened to their jeers and sarcasm, then followed their gazes.

After seeing who that so-called Ms. Jiang was, her eyes widened in shock, utterly disbelief etched across her face.

It’s her???

The next second.

Qiao Ruoxin stormed towards Mo Chen and Jiang Ruolin, fuming with anger.

Ji Haochuan: “No good, no good, Qiao’s sister is in combat mode, her eyes full of murderous intent.”

Gu Mocheng: “It looks like we’re in for a show today.”

Bai Junyan: “Go for it, stinky sis!”

Lu Siheng: “…”

Lan Ke: “Ruoxin, keep your cool, okay? This is the World Bank deputy director’s daughter!”

Mo Chen was feeling irritable as he swung his club and successfully holed the ball.

Jiang Ruolin beside him let out a delighted laugh, “Mr. Mo is as amazing as ever.”

The man gave her a cold glance, his handsome face tense.

But then he saw Qiao Ruoxin approaching them.

How did this Little Ghost end up here?

Mo Chen frowned slightly, watching wide-eyed as Little Ghost stopped in front of him and asked in a deep voice, “Why are you here?”

“Can’t I be? I know Ms. Jiang Ruolin too, don’t I? Why don’t you take a break, I’ll keep her company for a game.”

Qiao Ruoxin’s eyes remained fixed on Jiang Ruolin, and she took the golf club from the man’s hands.

A flicker of surprise passed through Mo Chen’s dark eyes, how did these two know each other?

Chapter 73: Proving How Much Mo Chen Loves Her in One Second Jiang Ruolin’s lips curved into a faint smile, as if challenging her.

So in the time that followed, a competition unfolded between the two women.

Qiao Ruoxin stood sideways, gracefully swinging the golf club and effortlessly sinking the ball into the hole.

“Ruoxin, you’re amazing,” Jiang Ruolin said with a hypocritical smile.

She turned to look at Jiang Ruolin, “What are you doing here? Weren’t you infatuated with your male confidant? Why aren’t you busy dating him instead of coming here looking to be scolded?”

“He has already seen you on ‘Idol 101.’ I guess it won’t be long before he comes here looking for you.”

Qiao Ruoxin let out a scornful cold laugh, “How useless can you get? Weren’t you his goddess from childhood to adulthood? Now that you’ve had a change of heart, he isn’t moved?”

With those words, Jiang Ruolin’s expression darkened a few shades.

“People change, I guess. He doesn’t seem to love me anymore.”

“Then you should try harder to make him fall in love with you! Stop letting him come and disgust me!” Qiao Ruoxin’s eyes were filled with barely concealed revulsion when she mentioned that man.

Jiang Ruolin: “I really don’t understand, you’re just a stand-in, why did you replace me in his heart?”

“…” She snorted arrogantly, “I’m so much prettier than you, I’m your stand-in? Miss Jiang, you have many good qualities, but you’re perhaps a tad overconfident.”

Jiang Ruolin wasn’t angry, and she simply smiled lightly, “I just want to see how much the son of Asia’s richest man really loves you, is it worth taking such a big risk for?”

She smiled softly, idly handling the golf club in her hand.

“I can prove it to you in one second, do you want to see?”

“I’ll be watching.”

Suddenly!

With a “slap,” Qiao Ruoxin struck Jiang Ruolin’s face with a backhand.

Jiang Ruolin’s face twisted slightly to one side, her cheek swiftly swelling and stinging with pain.

Yet she still calmly turned back to look at that beautiful and arrogant little sister, “Even so, will Mo Chen still protect you?”

Her tone was full of disbelief.

Qiao Ruoxin: “I’ll be watching.”

In the distance.

A group of people were shocked…

Bai Junyan: “Damn! My pesky sister is so freaking cool!”

Lan Ke: “She has gone mad! Absolutely mad, definitely mad.”

Gu Mocheng: “Mo Chen, did you spoil this Little Ghost to be like this?”

Ji Haochuan: “Awesome, awesome! Mo Chen, let’s see how you wrap this up, what are you going to do?”

Lu Siheng: “She’s got quite the jealous temper.”

Mo Chen’s dark eyes were quickly invaded by shock upon witnessing this scene.

“Shit…”

Then, he abruptly stood up and strode towards Qiao Ruoxin with long steps.

Qiao Ruoxin and Jiang Ruolin both noticed the tall figure of the man approaching from the corner of their eyes.

They were both waiting to see how Mo Chen would handle the situation.

And sure enough.

Mo Chen arrived in front of Qiao Ruoxin with rage in his step, roughly pulling her behind him, making it seem like she was the victim.

His handsome face was taut, as he struggled to contain the anger within him, and glanced at Jiang Ruolin’s slapped face, now somewhat swollen.

“Go have them put some ice on it,” he said, his attitude cool, his voice indifferent.

After speaking, the man took Qiao Ruoxin’s slender wrist and turned to leave.

Just… like that?

So blatantly biased? No lesson taught?

Jiang Ruolin watched their retreating figures, her surprise mingling with a hint of envy.

At that moment, Qiao Ruoxin turned back to glance at Jiang Ruolin, her eyes proud and bright.

In the sunset, her smile was radiant, and at the same time, very blinding.

Chapter 74: Fearing I’d Scare You Away, You Disappeared for Another Two Years Ji Haochuan: “Tsk tsk… I fucking want to be Mo Chen’s woman now, he spoils her too much. Even with such a huge mess, he doesn’t say a few words.”

Bai Junyan: “The key point is, can Jiang Ruolin tolerate this grievance?”

Lan Ke: “I’m really afraid she’ll take revenge on Ruoxin.”

Gu Mocheng: “The courage Qiao Ruoxin has today is all thanks to Mo Chen’s indulgence.”

Lu Siheng: “…”

In the resting room.

Mo Chen pulled her into the resting room and roughly flung her onto the sofa.

She slightly furrowed her brows, lying on the sofa, and looked up at the man’s cold, frosty face.

“Mo Chen, big brother…”

“Qiao Ruoxin! Are you fucking asking for it!”

Sitting on the sofa, her clear black and white eyes stared at him: “Are you angry? Then why didn’t you lose your temper just now? You’re lecturing me now, when no one can see.”

“…”

He really did want to directly kill this ‘Little Ghost’.

Mo Chen heavily sat on the single sofa nearby, his right arm propping on the armrest, long fingers with distinct joints resting on his forehead.

He suppressed the raging fury inside him and closed his eyes.

His handsome face revealed irritability and a trace of fatigue.

Qiao Ruoxin watched him for a while before she got up and approached the man.

Her gentle voice slowly spoke: “Mo Chen, big brother, I was wrong… ”

The man opened his pitch-black eyes, which were like ancient deep pools, trapping a struggling fierce beast within them.

His deep voice said: “Come here, sit on me.”

Qiao Ruoxin’s slender and straight legs straddled directly, sitting face-to-face on the man’s midsection.

“…” Mo Chen’s expression darkened a few shades, his eyes swirling with undercurrents.

“I told you to sit sideways, not like this.” He met Qiao Ruoxin’s beautiful eyes, wishing he could really kill her!

Qiao Ruoxin blinked, with an innocent expression: “Then you should have made it clear…”

After speaking, she prepared to get up and sit again.

The man’s arm caught her slender waist: “Fine, stay like this then.”

Mo Chen gazed at her small face, one arm hugging her waist, the other hand holding her chin.

“Little Ghost, you mustn’t casually hit people in the future, got it?”

She obediently nodded her head: “I know, my mistake.”

Then, Qiao Ruoxin wrapped her slender arms around the man’s body, resting her small chin on his shoulder.

He embraced the woman in his arms, his large palm gently stroking the romantic long hair behind her.

He had lived until now, and perhaps all his patience had been spent on Qiao Ruoxin.

“It’s ugly for a woman to hit others,” the man’s tone was full of disgust.

Qiao Ruoxin acknowledged: “I won’t do it again.”

Suddenly, he struck Qiao Ruoxin’s upturned buttocks with a slap, his tone harsh: “Don’t you dare learn my bad temper!”

Qiao Ruoxin laughed lightly: “Mo Chen, you’re aware of your own bad temper, huh.”

“Mmm…” The man’s low voice lightly responded.

“Mo Chen, big brother, did I make you lose face?”

Mo Chen snorted, letting out a disdainful cold chuckle: “So you’re aware?”

She muttered softly: “Then why didn’t you scold me in front of Jiang Ruolin?”

In truth, she wanted Mo Chen to admit he couldn’t bear to do it.

But the man was silent for a long while before he said in a deep voice: “I was afraid that scolding you would drive you away, and you’d vanish for another two years.”

Qiao Ruoxin’s lush eyelashes trembled, the slight smile on her lips stiffening.

Her heart ached fiercely.

“I wouldn’t, I’ll never do it again,” she said, her voice weak with a suppressed sob.

Mo Chen’s gaze deepened, holding the soft body in his arms, and only in this moment did his irritability disappear.

Chapter 75: Just Try Touching Her! Jiang Ruolin used an ice pack on her cheek as she made her way to the lounge.

She hadn’t expected to witness such a doting scene.

Qiao Ruoxin heard footsteps behind her and subconsciously stood up, leaving the man’s embrace.

Mo Chen’s brows furrowed with a hint of displeasure.

“She slapped me without any reason, I thought you would teach her a lesson, but it turns out you were cuddling in the lounge?”

Jiang Ruolin’s gaze was icy as she deliberately provoked a confrontation.

The man’s face turned grim, and he spoke in a deep voice, “I don’t get involved in women’s affairs.”

Qiao Ruoxin’s lips curved into a slight smile as she sat down on the nearby sofa.

“Mo Chen, I heard Uncle Mo say that you’re single now?”

Mo Chen slowly lifted his gaze, his voice icy and chilling, “What if I am?”

“Since you’re single, you have no right to protect Qiao Ruoxin. I must return the slap she gave me today!”

After speaking, Jiang Ruolin threw away the ice pack and raised her arm, aiming a slap at Qiao Ruoxin’s face.

Suddenly!

Mo Chen stood up angrily, grabbed Jiang Ruolin’s wrist with such force that he nearly crushed her bones.

The next second, his face contorted with disgust, he quickly let go of Jiang Ruolin’s hand, feeling the urge to retch surging.

Nevertheless, he suppressed the feeling of discomfort and roared, “Try touching her and I’ll kill you!”

Mo Chen’s face began to pale as he suddenly turned and left the lounge.

Qiao Ruoxin watched his tall figure, her eyes dimming slightly, was he going to vomit again…

Jiang Ruolin collapsed onto the sofa, surprised by Mo Chen’s reaction just now.

“It seems he really loves you, so I can rest assured.”

“The fact that he didn’t kick you is gentlemanly enough, you have to believe he could have done it,” Qiao Ruoxin laughed helplessly.

Jiang Ruolin straightened her clothes and stood up, “Remember, this is your own choice, stay away from Simon in the future, even if Simon looks for you, you cannot look back.”

She elegantly stood up, her smile cold and merciless, “I only like Mo Chen.”

With that, she left without looking back.

Jiang Ruolin watched Qiao Ruoxin’s proud figure walk away, experiencing a moment of disorientation.

She had personally tested how much Mo Chen really loved Qiao Ruoxin, and she felt even more that Simon didn’t deserve it.

Simon had changed over the past month while searching for the missing Qiao Ruoxin, becoming increasingly withdrawn and eerily quiet.

Qiao Ruoxin waited outside the restroom for a long time before she saw Mo Chen come out with a sullen face.

She immediately stepped forward and hugged the man’s tall body, “Brother Mo Chen…”

Mo Chen looked as if he were immersed in darkness, his handsome face taut as he looked down at Qiao Ruoxin.

His arms, stiff at his sides, lifted to embrace her, and he responded faintly, “Hmm.”

“Actually, you didn’t have to stop her, it would’ve been like returning the slap to her.”

The man furrowed his brow slightly, his voice low and husky with a touch of displeasure, “Are you fucking blaming me for meddling?”

Qiao Ruoxin shook her head, “No, I just don’t want you to feel so awful…”

“What you should be doing now is making it up to me.”

Her face filled with confusion as she lifted her head, “How do I make it up to you?”

Mo Chen’s dark eyes locked onto hers, their gaze held for three seconds before he lowered his head and captured her lips, “Just like this.”

This was right outside the restroom, where anyone could pass by at any time!

Qiao Ruoxin’s eyes widened like a startled fawn, “Don’t mess around, someone might come by!”

“I’ve cleared the area.”

Chapter 76: This Scene is Called Heartbeat Xiaowu suddenly came over, his expression grave, “Master Mo, Miss Jiang said she has something urgent and needs to go back earlier.”

Qiao Ruoxin didn’t feel surprised.

Mo Chen had no particular reaction either, simply acknowledging with an indifferent, “Hmm.”

“Shall we arrange a private plane to send Miss Jiang back now?”

“Go ahead.”

“Yes!” Xiaowu turned and left.

The man wrapped his arms around her slender waist and felt it, realizing it had gotten thinner.

His eyes darkened, his tone full of disdain, “Are you trying to kill yourself for some lousy competition? Training until midnight without sleeping?”

A hint of surprise flashed through Qiao Ruoxin’s eyes, “How do you know?”

The next second, she wrapped her arms around her upper body with extreme wariness, “You wouldn’t be perverted enough to have installed surveillance in my room, would you?”

Mo Chen’s face had turned extremely ugly, his large palm couldn’t help but pinch her slender waist, the force quite strong.

“You’re hurting me…”

The man’s handsome face tensed, but the force in his hands eased slightly.

His low voice carried a hint of hatred, “I’ve been to your room.”

Qiao Ruoxin immediately recalled the night Kong Ling stood in her room, lost in a daze.

“Was there a girl who came to deliver clothes to me and saw you?”

“Hmm.”

As expected…

But why didn’t Kong Ling tell her that Mo Chen had been there?

Forgot?

Nevermind, it’s not important.

A cunning glint flashed through Qiao Ruoxin’s eyes, her little claws reaching towards the man’s chest, “I remember you said that if you entered my room again you would be a dog. Why do you keep entering? Do you admit you’re a dog, Master Mo?”

The corners of her mouth revealed a sweet smile.

Mo Chen grasped her mischievous little hands, his voice deep, “If you must say so, then I guess I was looking for the little bitch.”

The smile vanished from her face in an instant.

Damn!

This damn man!

Who is he cursing!

Qiao Ruoxin’s eyes, sparkling with anger, glared at him, betraying a faint hint of coquettish anger.

Even angered, the beauty remained stunning.

“I am not a little bitch!”

The man let out a snicker, his long fingers deliberately messing up her hair, his voice low and gentle, “Hmm, then I’m not a dog either.”

“…”

With feigned arrogance, Qiao Ruoxin huffed coldly, “You are a dog! A dog of a man!”

Mo Chen slightly narrowed his eyes, grasping her chin, “Keep insulting me, and I’ll strip off your clothes right here.”

This Little Ghost curses so… beautifully.

So vivid and alluringly arrogant.

The first time he saw the 12-year-old Qiao Ruoxin, she was ‘bullying’ a male classmate.

Wearing a dark teal pleated skirt, a pure white school uniform shirt, black straight long hair, she was dazzling like a shining star.

And this Little Ghost’s laughter was as pleasant as wind chimes, running past him, brushing shoulders.

A faint youthful fragrance filled the nostrils.

When he looked back, he only saw that slender figure running in the sunset, black long hair flying in the wind and the skirt swaying gently.

Like a richly colored oil painting, it was beautiful.

That moment, was it what they called love at first sight…?

Memories snapped back to the present as he gazed at the delicate, beautiful face before him, his lips curving into an indulgent smile.

Thinking back, he seemed to have fallen for Qiao Ruoxin the first time he saw her.

A sense of guilt welled up within him.

Qiao Ruoxin was so irritated she laughed, “Mo Chen, you’re getting more shameless by the day. Do you want everyone to admire my body?”

This damn man couldn’t possibly do it!

The man frowned, his answer coming without hesitation, “Don’t want to.”

Chapter 77: A Man Must Marry the Woman He Loves Most Qiao Ruoxin giggled softly, lowering her voice, “Did you really clear the place out?”

The man raised his eyebrows slightly, “Hmm?”

She suddenly leaned in close, her black and white eyes fixated on the man’s handsome features.

Whispering, “If you cleared the place, kissing would be allowed too.”

Mo Chen couldn’t help but laugh out loud, “So forward? Are you soliciting a kiss?”

Qiao Ruoxin snorted, “Kiss if you want, don’t wait until it’s too late.”

After speaking, she turned to walk away, but suddenly Mo Chen grabbed her slender wrist, pulling her into his embrace.

He bent down and kissed her.

“Mmph… Mo Chen! You’re a pervert! I took the initiative to let you kiss me, and you’re still not satisfied. Do you only feel something when you force me?”

Sometimes she really thought that Mo Chen had a masochistic streak.

The man’s large hand clutched her head, his voice hoarse to the extreme, “Lately, I also feel like I might have developed a taste for perversion.”

Qiao Ruoxin’s eyes widened, her moist eyes looking at him, “Really?”

“Each day more than the last, I want to kill you, torment you, make you cry,” his tone was nonchalant, yet frightening.

She stiffened, “Big brother Mo Chen, maybe we should see a psychologist…”

Mo Chen snorted disdainfully, “No.”

“What if you really lose control and kill me?”

“Scared now? Weren’t you acting all tough just a moment ago?” the corner of the man’s mouth curled up.

Qiao Ruoxin: “…”

Instantly, she tilted her chin up proudly, “Not scared, I bet you wouldn’t dare kill me.”

Mo Chen let out a disdainful sneer.

What he hated most was Qiao Ruoxin’s certainty.

She did as she pleased, banking on the fact that he loved her.

And yet he had no clue what this ‘Little Ghost’ was really thinking in her heart!

His dark eyes stared at her little face, a surge of resentment welling up within them.

Then he brutally bit and tormented her lips.

“Ow!”

Qiao Ruoxin pushed him away, if he kept biting like this, she’d bleed—and she still had to record a show!

But the man lost control in an instant, his eyes darkening as he pressed Qiao Ruoxin against the cool wall, forcefully kissing her lips.

Qiao Ruoxin’s struggles were futile as she felt herself being slowly consumed by darkness.

Suddenly!

A phone vibration came to her rescue.

Mo Chen finally let her go, looking at her swollen lips, he seemed somewhat calmer.

He took out his phone to answer, “Dad, what’s up.”

“I’m back in the country, come to my office this afternoon.”

“Hmm.”

Beep… Beep…

After hanging up, Mo Chen looked at her gasping against the wall, a trace of fear in his eyes.

He reached out and touched her head, speaking gravely, “Go back and wait for me.”

“Okay, I got it.”

Then, she watched as Mo Chen walked away towards the end of the corridor.

That damn man really could be terrifying when he lost control.

The bodyguard immediately approached, speaking coldly, “Miss Qiao, the Boss asked us to escort you back to Jiang Mansion Number One.”

Hengzhong Group.

Mo Chen entered his father Mo Tian’s office.

The group’s rules were strict; even for father and son, compliance was necessary.

“Sit.”

Mo Tian sat behind the desk, looking at his son with a smile.

Mo Chen sat on the chair across the desk, “What did you want to see me about?”

“You rascal, congratulations. You’re about to join our board of directors, and you’re taking on the CEO role too, right? After Bai Junyan moves to headquarters, he can handle it.”

“Hmm.”

Mo Tian said, “I’ve seen you and your ex-girlfriend in the headlines a lot lately. Are you still hung up on her?”

“…”

“If you still like her, go after her. A man’s happiness is most important, or how else can he handle business?” Mo Tian leaned back in his chair and spoke slowly.

Mo Chen responded indifferently, “I know what I’m doing.”

“That’s good. Let me tell you, a man must marry the woman he loves most; otherwise, he won’t be successful in business, you understand?”

“…” He thought about leaving.

Chapter 78: Who Misses You? Wishful Thinking Evening.

When Mo Chen returned to Jiang Mansion No. 1 and opened the door, a soft body immediately threw itself into his arms.

He took a step back from the impact and instinctively hugged her.

Qiao Ruoxin looked up at him, “Brother Mo Chen, you’re finally back, I’ve been waiting for you for so long.”

The man chuckled softly as he looked down at her, his voice deep and doting, “If you’re tired, sleep. Why wait for me?”

Qiao Ruoxin pouted, “So you mean you don’t want to eat the dinner that I cooked for you personally?”

Saying this, she stepped out of his embrace and said lightly, “Alright then, I’ll just throw it away.”

Mo Chen pulled her back into his arms, holding her chin, “There’s such a good thing?”

“…”

She really was masochistic.

She pulled Mo Chen towards the dining room.

Entering the dining room, he immediately noticed the beautifully presented dishes on the table, which clearly took quite a bit of time to prepare.

“How about it? I spent three hours on it.” Her face was full of a look seeking praise, extremely cute.

Mo Chen pulled out a chair and sat down. He picked up his chopsticks, took a crystal shrimp dumpling, and tasted it.

He glanced at Qiao Ruoxin, “Not bad.”

“There’s also this cola chicken wing, that purple sweet potato rice cake is also delicious.”

The man narrowed his eyes slightly, scrutinizing her gaze, and spoke solemnly, “Is there something you want to tell me?”

Qiao Ruoxin smiled lightly, “The show team notified me that we’ll be recording continuously for seven days; I’m afraid you’ll miss me too much.”

Mo Chen snorted disdainfully, “Who misses you? Don’t flatter yourself.”

She stared at him for three seconds and scoffed coldly, “That’s what you said! If you enter my room again in the middle of the night, then you really are a dog! No, you’re a mastiff!”

“…”

The stakes were a bit high.

“Dare to bet?” she teased, deliberately raising her delicate little chin.

Coldness flickered in Mo Chen’s dark eyes as he said in a deep voice, “It’s a bet.”

Just seven days, he could endure it until it was over.

Qiao Ruoxin laughed out, “Good! If you lose, then you have to imitate a mastiff’s bark.”

The man’s eyes darkened, his jawline became taut, and he let out a disdainful snort, “What if you lose?”

“If I lose? You say what to do.”

Because she never considered that she would lose.

It wasn’t that she was overly confident, but because Mo Chen’s emotions were too out of control.

Mo Chen narrowed his eyes, his long finger gently tapped her little upturned nose, and he chuckled lowly, “If you lose, you will cry for me, until I’m satisfied.”

Qiao Ruoxin’s eyes widened incredulously.

This bastard really was… twisted!

“You like watching me cry?”

“Mhm.”

“You pervert!”

“Say that again?” The man’s tone was full of threat.

Instantly, Qiao Ruoxin’s face broke into a sweet smile, looking all grinny, “I mean, Brother Mo Chen really is unique. Such a high IQ genius has quite the exotic thought process.”

The man picked up a piece of purple sweet potato rice cake and tasted it, “Keep on praising.”

???

Bastard!

“Brother Mo Chen, hurry and eat. After you finish, watch a movie with me! I haven’t watched one in a long time!”

Qiao Ruoxin had a look of expectation, her sparkling eyes made one unable to resist the urge to tease her.

He looked at her somewhat amused, “The same one again?”

Ever since this Little Ghost became his woman, he had watched that movie countless times with her.

“Yep! With you, I only watch that one.”

Chapter 79: Accompanying Grandpa Mo The living room was pitch-black.

Mo Chen leaned back on the sofa, letting Little Ghost start the movie.

“All set! Here we go!”

Qiao Ruoxin returned to the sofa with an excited look on her little face and hugged the man’s arm.

The movie began, “Spirited Away,” which they had watched countless times, and the man had grown tired of it long ago.

Yet the Little Ghost beside him was always as excited and thrilled as if it were her first viewing.

Mo Chen picked up the cigarette box from the coffee table, pulled out a cigarette, and placed it between his lips.

But it was snatched away by Qiao Ruoxin, “I’m trying to get you to watch the movie, why are you smoking? Does the movie irritate you that much?”

“…” He looked at Qiao Ruoxin for a while, then lifted her up and placed her on his long legs.

“I don’t like watching movies.”

Mo Chen’s large hand grasped her slender waist, finding watching the Little Ghost more interesting than the movie.

“You’re supposed to keep me company while I watch, can’t you do that?” she leaned against the man’s shoulder, her gaze fixed on the movie screen.

The man suddenly leaned down and kissed her cheek, his voice husky to the extreme, “Then will you stay with me tonight?”

Thinking about not seeing her for seven days, not being able to sneak into her room in the middle of the night.

An inexplicable frustration and irritability.

Qiao Ruoxin was absorbed in the movie, and distractedly replied, “You want to set conditions just for keeping me company during a movie? If I don’t stay with you, will you not watch it with me?”

“Mhm.”

And he still has the face to hum!

What kind of dog of a man is this.

She looked up into the man’s dark eyes; the next second, she moved closer to his neck and then bit down hard.

Mo Chen let out a muffled grunt, frowned unhappily, and looked down at the trouble-making Little Ghost.

“What are you doing?”

After a while, Qiao Ruoxin raised her head and looked at the mark she left on his neck, nodding in satisfaction.

“I’m leaving you a mark, to keep other women from clinging to you.”

Mo Chen chuckled, pinching her fair and tender cheek, “Such scheming?”

She huffed lightly, “That’s called wisdom!”

“Should I leave one on you, too?” the man raised an eyebrow slightly, a hint of mischief flickering in his eyes.

In a panic, Qiao Ruoxin covered her slender neck with her hands, “No! I still have to record a program!”

The man narrowed his eyes, moving closer to her small face, and said in a deep voice, “Little Ghost, I let you bite me, and I’m right here watching the movie with you, will you stay with me tonight or not?”

“What if I say no?”

“Well, if you dare to say no, I might accidentally strangle you.”

Qiao Ruoxin looked at him amusingly and burst out, “I will!”

A layer of frost that had covered the man’s handsome features slowly began to thaw.

After the movie, Qiao Ruoxin went back to her room for a shower, put on a sleeping dress, and came to Mr. Mo’s master bedroom.

At this moment, Mo Chen was already propped up in bed, seemingly waiting for her.

Although nothing could happen now, he still wanted her to sleep by his side.

At least, he could fall asleep normally.

Turn off the light.

Qiao Ruoxin lay in bed, still keeping a sea’s distance from the man.

After a while, Mo Chen’s deep and authoritative voice came from the darkness, “Come here, sleep holding me.”

“…”

What a dog of a man!

He obviously wanted to hold her as he slept, yet he acted as if he was doing her a pitiful favor.

But obediently, she moved over and hugged the man’s waist, her little hand touching his abs, which were firm and taut.

Mo Chen pulled her into his embrace and grabbed her restless hand, “Sleep, no more touching.”

She smiled slightly, closed her eyes, and inhaled the man’s crisp, refreshing, faint mint scent.

Chapter 80: Smelly sister is deliberately tormenting you The next day, early in the morning.

Qiao Ruoxin got up very early, finished washing up, changed her clothes, and prepared to leave.

She stood in front of the bed for a while, looking at the man still deep in sleep.

She leaned down to kiss the man’s lips, then turned and left.

After she was sent to the training camp, the director team notified her that all the A-class trainees needed to gather.

When she arrived at the dance studio, she realized everyone from Class A was already there, except for her.

Qiao Ruoxin kept her head down and quietly took her place.

Lu Xingyu stood in front of them and said, “All A-class trainees, follow me to participate in a variety show. It’s the nation’s top-rated, long-standing show. I hope you cherish this opportunity.”

Everyone’s face lit up with surprise.

Kong Ling was particularly elated; she could never have dreamed of such a day.

She was already getting older, and if she couldn’t debut this time, she would be without hope.

“Alright, get ready. We leave in an hour and might finish recording around two in the morning.”

Lu Xingyu then called out to Qiao Ruoxin, “Ruoxin, come here for a second.”

Kong Ling, who was about to leave, felt sour seeing the mentor pull Qiao Ruoxin aside.

“Lu Teacher, is there something you need?”

Lu Xingyu looked at her and asked, “Why weren’t you the center in this competition’s group battle?”

She smiled lightly, “That spot isn’t bought by me; others should have the chance too.”

Lu Xingyu showed a look of admiration and nodded, “Perform well today.”

“Thank you, Teacher Lu, I will.”

This was top-tier popularity, the leader of a famous idol group. It’s better for her to keep her distance.

She thought back to a few days ago when Qiao Sisi was barraged by comments from those fans.

Qiao Ruoxin instinctively took a step back, “Then I’ll get going.”

In the Hengzhong Group, within the president’s office.

Mo Chen found the expressions of all the employees who greeted him since he entered the company today to be very complex.

Standing in the elevator, Secretary Jiang and Assistant Liu exchanged a glance and couldn’t help but snigger.

Because the ambiguous mark on Boss Mo’s neck was just too attention-grabbing.

It was impossible to ignore.

The elevator door opened with a ding-dong sound.

The man took a long stride out, walking towards his office with a detached figure.

Secretary Jiang and Assistant Liu quietly discussed behind him.

“Boss Mo looks bright and spirited today, as if he had spent last night recharging his yin and yang.”

“Tsk tsk, did you not see that love bite on his neck? That’s the evidence.”

“Is it Miss Qiao?”

“Who else could it be? Boss Mo and his ex-girlfriend are really in a tangled mess that they can’t seem to resolve.”

Suddenly!

Bai Junyan’s voice came from behind them, “Discussing your superior’s private life during work hours?”

The two jerked upright, scared and quickly turned around.

“Bai… President Bai.”

“Shouldn’t you be working?” Bai Junyan took up his executive air.

After those two left, Bai Junyan couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow and chuckle, then walked up to the office door of the president.

He had just come to headquarters to handle some affairs, and hadn’t expected to come across such juicy gossip.

Bai Junyan didn’t knock but barged straight in.

Behind the office desk, Mo Chen was signing documents. Hearing footsteps, he looked up with a hint of displeasure.

Bai Junyan immediately noticed the romantic mark on his neck and burst into laughter.

“My God… Little sister’s pretty bold, huh.”

He barked, “Get out!”

Bai Junyan couldn’t stop laughing as he sat down on the sofa in the visitor’s area, “Did you guys… clap for love last night?”

Mo Chen’s anger flared suddenly, “No!”

Bai Junyan’s laughter abruptly stopped, “What a letdown. Little sister’s really torturing you, isn’t she?”
