Ch. 91..100

Chapter 91: Little Ghost, do you find me amusing? Late at night.

Qiao Ruoxin lay in bed with a mind full of turmoil.

Was it unrealistic to quietly wait for her bracelet to be returned?

After all, it was the “Mermaid’s Tears,” worth a hundred million!

The corridor was empty.

Kong Ling quietly left her room, still wearing that bracelet on her wrist.

Standing in front of Qiao Ruoxin’s room, she looked down at the bracelet on her wrist, unsure of how to knock and explain.

Just at that moment…

A sudden late-night visit from Mo Chen witnessed this scene.

His gaze immediately landed on the bracelet on Kong Ling’s wrist.

Instantly, his face darkened, his lips tightly pressed together, carrying an air of hostility as he strode toward Qiao Ruoxin’s room.

Hearing footsteps, Kong Ling’s face was stricken with panic, and she instinctively hid her hand behind her back.

Kong Ling never imagined she would see Mo Chen himself here, at this time!!!

It felt like an unreal, dreamlike sensation!

Mo Chen’s tall figure moved toward her, getting closer, his handsome features as cold as frost.

“Mo… Boss Mo!”

Kong Ling stuttered out.

The man stared at Kong Ling for a full ten seconds.

Kong Ling’s heart raced, her first thought being, could the “Mermaid’s Tears” bracelet truly be this magical?

This was the son of Asia’s wealthiest man, after all!

He was staring at her for so long?

Falling hopelessly in love with a stranger?

Kong Ling’s mind was in utter chaos, not knowing where to look.

Suddenly, Mo Chen spoke with a deep voice, “Go to sleep.”

“Yes… Yes!”

Kong Ling turned around in a fluster, walking quickly back to her own room, always covering her wrist, afraid that Mo Chen would see.

Mo Chen’s handsome face was tense, and his hands hanging by his sides clenched into fists, the joints cracking.

This signified he was about to explode.

He grasped the doorknob, pushed open the door, and walked straight in.

In that instant the door opened, Qiao Ruoxin, who had been pacing around the room, turned around abruptly, her face filled with surprise, “Why are you here?”

With a ‘bang,’ the door slammed shut.

Mo Chen’s movements were rough as he pinned her against the door; he looked down into her eyes with a fierce expression, “Little Ghost, do you think I’m a joke?”

His voice was cold, devoid of any warmth.

“What do you mean?” Qiao Ruoxin was completely bewildered.

The man’s slender fingers pinched her jaw, forcing her to look directly at him: “You promised me! You wouldn’t take off that bracelet! You called me and said you liked it, that you would cherish it!”

Suddenly, Mo Chen grasped her wrist and shouted angrily, “Where is the bracelet! Were you just humoring me with your words!”

“I didn’t! The bracelet is lost; I’ve been searching for it!”

Suddenly, the man let out a disdainful scoff, “So, you took it off after all, otherwise, how could it be lost? If you hadn’t allowed it, would she dare to openly wear it on her wrist?”

Qiao Ruoxin’s eyes widened, “Who is wearing it? Did you see?”

The man didn’t speak, seemingly gauging whether her expression was just an act.

After all, she was the pride of the Film Academy’s Performing Arts department.

“I really didn’t lie to you! I had an outdoor shoot today, a physical test. I was afraid the bracelet would get knocked around, so I let someone keep it for me, and it got lost! Look, my ankle is still swollen!”

Mo Chen looked down at her delicate, fair ankle, and indeed, there seemed to be signs of swelling.

“Brother Mo Chen, so who was wearing the bracelet? Tell me quickly!” she pleaded with urgency in her eyes.

“The woman who brought you clothes last time.”

Qiao Ruoxin froze for a second, then a hint of anger surfaced in her eyes.

“Brother Mo Chen, wait for me for ten minutes!”

Then, she pushed away the tall figure of the man, opened the door, and left.

Chapter 92: Master Mo, Learn to Bark Like a Tibetan Mastiff Qiao Ruoxin arrived at Kong Ling’s room door and knocked twice.

When the door opened, Kong Ling’s face went instantly pale upon seeing her.

She revealed a sweet smile, “I know you picked up my bracelet, and you wanted to return it but felt too embarrassed to speak up, so you were lingering in the corridor just now, right?”

Kong Ling felt so unstable that she could barely stand.

“Thank you. That bracelet is very important to me, and I’m grateful it was you who found it.”

She didn’t speak harshly, nor did she show the slightest hint of resentment.

But this only made Kong Ling feel so suffocated that he could hardly breathe.

Kong Ling had no choice but to extend his palm and hand the bracelet back to her.

Qiao Ruoxin smiled faintly and took back her bracelet, “Thank you, if there’s anything I can help you with in the future, please come to me, I’ll do whatever I can, good night.”

After speaking, she closed the door for Kong Ling.

The moment the door closed, the dutiful smile on Qiao Ruoxin’s face instantly disappeared.

Less than ten minutes later, Qiao Ruoxin returned to her room, and the bracelet was back on her wrist.

She raised her hand and smiled gently, “Mo Chen, brother, I’ve got the bracelet back, and I’ll never take it off again.”

To her surprise, the man glanced at it with a hint of disdain, his tone cold, “It’s been worn by someone else, throw it away.”

“I won’t! This bracelet is the ‘Mermaid’s Tears’; it has a special meaning!”

Qiao Ruoxin hid her wrist behind her back.

Mo Chen’s tall figure approached her, and his ice-cold voice softened a bit, coaxing her in a low voice, “Be good, I’ll buy you another one.”

“I want this one! Its legend is so beautiful, and I like it.”

He snorted with disdain, “You believe that?”

“Yes, I believe it!”

Mo Chen’s long fingers touched her head, his voice hoarse and ambiguous, “Little Ghost, I’ve missed you.”

At a certain moment tonight, he desperately missed her, so he simply drove over.

Qiao Ruoxin hummed proudly, “Come on, Mo Mister, bark like a Tibetan Mastiff.”

???

The man frowned, “…”

“You’re not trying to weasel out of it, are you? We clearly agreed that you wouldn’t enter my room for seven days, and now you’ve lost, so bark like a Tibetan Mastiff.”

Mo Chen laughed out loud, a trace of shamelessness crossing his handsome face, “I don’t know how a Tibetan Mastiff barks.”

“I don’t care! You have to honor a bet!”

Seeing this man was just trying to welsh on the bet again!

Not this time!

Mo Chen nodded, “Mmm…”

Then, he retreated a few steps, his tall figure beginning to loosen up his neck, adopting the air of a dandy from high society.

“If I tell you to bark like a Tibetan Mastiff, why are you warming up? It’s not like I’m asking you to fight.”

What trick was this man trying to pull now?

The next second!

Mo Chen lunged at her, toppling her onto the soft, pink, girlish bed.

“Mo Chen! You’re being unfair! You… Mmm!”

The man’s large hand wrapped around her slender waist, and he lowered his head to seal her rosy lips with a kiss.

It was futile for Qiao Ruoxin to struggle.

When the kiss ended, Mo Chen whispered into her ear, his voice low and husky, “Little Ghost, Tibetan Mastiffs usually don’t bark, they just pounce and bite.”

“…”

What a miscalculation!

She chose the wrong dog!

Qiao Ruoxin tried to push him off, “Get up!”

“Don’t move, let me hold you for a while, be good…” His voice was lazy and sexy, and captivating.

Five seconds.

Ten seconds.

One minute.

Qiao Ruoxin heard the even breaths of the man by her ear.

She couldn’t help but widen her eyes, looking up close at the man’s handsome side profile.

His breath was a refreshing hint of mint that belonged strictly to Mo Chen.

And he fell asleep on top of her just like that???

Chapter 93: Sleep, I Am with You Qiao Ruoxin glanced sideways at the man’s handsome face and the trace of fatigue upon it, deciding not to wake him after all.

His hot breath sprayed across the nape of her neck.

She sighed lightly with a touch of helplessness, “Sleep, I’ll stay with you.”

Even though, she felt like she was being crushed to death!

This damn man was so heavy!

She caught a glimpse of the bite mark on Mo Chen’s neck from the corner of her eye, it hadn’t completely faded yet?

She couldn’t help but smile; it was her handiwork, after all.

Ruoxin gradually fell asleep too and slept very soundly.

In his deep sleep, Mo Chen held her slender body tightly.

She and he were like destiny entwined without end, neither could escape.

Five thirty in the morning.

The man in deep sleep finally opened his dark eyes.

There was a faint layer of morning irritability on his cold, handsome face.

The moment Mo Chen opened his eyes, he saw Qiao Ruoxin’s profile and instinctively kissed her chin before getting up.

The weight of the man finally left her body.

In deep sleep, she found a comfortable position and continued to sleep.

Mo Chen sat up, glanced at his watch, and then covered Little Ghost with the quilt.

By chance, he noticed Qiao Ruoxin’s slightly swollen ankle.

He stared at it for a few seconds before taking hold of her delicate ankle to massage it for a long time.

Lying in bed, Qiao Ruoxin made a comfortable sound, “Mmm…”

Mo Chen suddenly laughed out loud, his smile full of doting affection as he whispered in a scolding tone, “You sleep like a pig.”

His insomnia was getting worse while this Little Ghost slept so sweetly.

Nowadays, it was a miracle if he could get four straight hours of sleep.

Suddenly, he felt extremely unbalanced, and very annoyed.

The next second.

Mo Chen leaned over and pounced on her again, bowing his head to cover her lips and biting her lips to punish her for sleeping so sweetly.

In her dream, Qiao Ruoxin suddenly felt pain in her lips.

She frowned and slowly opened her eyes, only to see that damn man’s handsome face.

“Mo Chen! Do you know how annoying you are! I’m sleepy! I want to sleep!” her sweet, soft voice was full of complaint.

The man raised his eyebrows slightly and said in a deep voice, “Little Ghost, I’m leaving.”

“So what? You woke me up just to say that?” Her irritation at being woken was about to erupt!

Mo Chen’s long fingers grasped her jaw, his voice hoarse and sexy, “I want to hear you say ‘bye, Brother Mo Chen’, say it.”

“…”

Damn man!

So many demands!

She patiently said in a good temper, “Bye, Brother Mo Chen.”

The man’s face darkened, “You’re just fobbing me off like that? Speak properly! Mind your tone!”

Tone???

Ruoxin was completely woken up by his scolding.

She adjusted her emotions and flashed a perfectly hypocritical smile, “Bye, Brother Mo Chen, I’ll miss you, drive safely~”

The man finally seemed satisfied, releasing her jaw, “That’s more like it, though the smile is too fake.”

With that, he got up and left.

As he grabbed the doorknob, the voice of Little Ghost came from behind him, “Brother Mo Chen, have a good meal.”

Good sleep was too tough for Master Mo; she didn’t even bring it up.

A tinge of gloom appeared in Mo Chen’s black eyes.

He responded indifferently, “Mm.”

Then he left, opening the door.

As the sound of the closed door echoed, Qiao Ruoxin shut her eyes and hugged the pillow in her arms tightly.

In fact, she had just had a nightmare.

Thankfully, Mo Chen woke her up in time, or she didn’t know how long she would have continued to be tormented by fear in her dream.

Chapter 94: He has only Qiao Ruoxin in his eyes and heart! 6:00 AM.

The sky was just beginning to lighten, a deep and faint white with a few lingering stars.

Mo Chen drove away from the “Idol 101” training camp.

He happened to come upon a red light at an intersection.

The car slowly stopped.

His dark eyes glanced outside the window inadvertently, and then his pupils suddenly tightened.

The side profile of a woman entered his line of sight, that pair of starfish earrings in her ears flashed him back to the scene of a car accident two years ago.

The woman was walking towards the subway station.

At that moment, the green light turned on.

Mo Chen withdrew his gaze, pressed the gas pedal, and parked the car in a nearby lot.

Then he opened the car door and strode forward with his long legs, heading toward the subway station.

His handsome face was tense, eyes fixed dead on the woman’s retreating figure.

Who was this woman?

He began to experience symptoms of a headache again.

With a slight frown and a hint of pain in his eyes, he endured the headache and followed the woman’s figure.

Mo Chen quickly reached the woman, blocking her path.

The woman stiffened, a look of surprise on her face.

A flicker of astonishment crossed his dark eyes, “Lin Xi?”

Lin Xi looked at the man before her, “It’s me. Mo Chen, what are you doing here? Are you taking the subway?”

Mo Chen, however, was staring intently at the starfish earrings on her ears.

They seemed familiar as if he had seen them somewhere before.

“Just passing by.”

Lin Xi smiled slightly, “I see. Well, I need to catch the subway, let’s talk over the phone if there’s anything.”

The man responded with a sound, “Mhm.”

Then, as he watched Lin Xi’s hasty retreat, his headache intensified, almost splitting his head.

Why did the sight of these earrings make him think of the car accident from two years ago?

What could be the connection between them?

Mo Chen’s slender fingers pressed against his forehead, his complexion somewhat pale.

After entering the subway station, Lin Xi looked back cautiously.

To make sure Mo Chen had not followed her.

Then she took out her phone and dialed an overseas number, her voice trembling, “Simon, Mo Chen seems to have remembered something. He trailed me today, and the look in his eyes was very strange.”

“So, make him fall in love with you quickly, then you have nothing to fear.”

Lin Xi was on the verge of collapse, “I can’t do it! His eyes, his heart, are all filled with Qiao Ruoxin! If he discovers that I indirectly caused the car accident two years ago, do you think he will accept me?”

“Lin Xi, if he remembers what happened two years ago, you’ll be the first one to die.”

Lin Xi’s face turned ashen in an instant, “Why are you doing this! It’s all your conspiracy!”

“When the time comes, I will certainly kick you while you’re down, and make the video of you and the CEO of your airline company in a night of passion public.”

Tears streamed down Lin Xi’s cheeks, “You madman! Why do you have to harm me like this!”

“Blame it on your resemblance to Qiao Ruoxin, I suppose.”

Beep… Beep…

Lin Xi looked at the phone that had been coldly hung up, her face pale as paper.

At first glance, she did bear some resemblance to Qiao Ruoxin, but they were actually completely different types.

Qiao Ruoxin was a vibrant beauty, a pampered little princess with a proud and quirky personality.

Whereas Lin Xi was an elegant and gentle flight attendant, mature and composed.

They only shared a slight similarity in their facial features.

In these two years, Lin Xi had witnessed first-hand just how much Mo Chen loved Qiao Ruoxin.

She could never take Qiao Ruoxin’s place in Mo Chen’s heart; it was simply impossible!

Chapter 95: Tell Mo Chen the Truth Inside the room.

Qiao Ruoxin was already sleepless, tossing and turning on the bed.

Mo Chen had only slept here for a few hours, and his presence was beginning to permeate the air…

Suddenly, her phone rang.

She picked it up to see, yet another unknown number.

Without guessing, it was definitely that lunatic again.

After hesitating for a few seconds, she picked up the phone, got out of bed, and went to the terrace to answer.

“Mr. Lawrence! Let me make it clear to you, I won’t go back!”

But the other end of the phone conveyed a man’s low chuckle, “It’s morning there now, isn’t it? Why such a temper so early in the day?”

“Get lost!”

Preparing to hang up, Qiao Ruoxin was stopped when the man said, “Your mother hasn’t been in good health recently, aren’t you going to visit her?”

Her heart skipped a beat.

“Cut the crap! You used that trick two years ago, I won’t believe you again.”

“Believe it or not, it’s up to you, but I have been rather busy recently and haven’t had time to come for you. You’d better behave, otherwise when I do come for you, it won’t be so pleasant.”

Qiao Ruoxin frowned slightly, “What do you want to do?”

“It seems you still think that Mo Chen wasn’t stressed enough two years ago, so I’ll just give him a bit more stress. Maybe fighting poison with poison will cure him.”

She became enraged, her breathing growing rapid, “You go to hell! If you stress him out again, I definitely won’t let you off!”

After finishing, she directly hung up the phone and blocked the number again.

After ending the call, Qiao Ruoxin began to feel anxious and restless.

If Simon really came to China, what would she do?

Mo Chen would definitely confront him head-on.

What she feared the most was Simon revealing everything that had happened in the past two years to stress Mo Chen.

No!

She had to speed things up and tell Mo Chen the truth before Simon appeared, to make him aware of everything.

An idea suddenly emerged in Qiao Ruoxin’s mind.

Why not tonight?

Evening.

At Jiang Mansion Number One, in the study.

It was the weekend, so he didn’t go to the office.

The vast study was as calm as a morgue.

Sitting on the chair behind his desk, Mo Chen had a cigarette between his lips, and the crystal ashtray in front of him was filled with butts.

A persistent gloom cloaked his handsome face.

Scenes from the car accident two years ago constantly flashed in his mind.

Many fragments of memory drifted through his mind but failed to combine into a complete chain.

The next second!

Suddenly!

A strange light swiftly crossed Mo Chen’s dark eyes.

The Starfish Earrings!

They belonged to the woman in that video fragment in his memory!

The smoke blurred his handsome face.

He closed his eyes, recalling that nauseating and dirty video, the entwined bodies of a man and a woman.

It seemed that the woman was wearing those Starfish Earrings!!!

Suddenly he opened his dark eyes again, beginning to have a headache, a splitting pain.

His long fingers held his forehead as he frowned, enduring the pain.

What did that video have to do with him?

Why did he keep remembering the scenes from the video but could never see the faces of the man and woman clearly?

The phone vibrated.

It pulled Mo Chen’s disordered thoughts back to reality.

He picked up the phone and answered, “Speak.”

“Boss Mo, we are on the way back with Miss Qiao; it will be half an hour.”

Little Ghost is coming back?

He frowned slightly, a hint of puzzlement in his eyes, but he still responded indifferently, “Hmm, I’m at home.”

Chapter 96: Are you going to fucking speak or not! The car slowly entered the villa’s garage.

Qiao Ruoxin pushed open the car door and walked to the villa’s main entrance, ringing the doorbell.

The nanny came to open the door, “Miss Qiao, Mr. Mo is in the upstairs study.”

“Auntie, could you warm up a cup of milk for me?”

“Sure.”

She stood in the living room, looking at the light gray French-style staircase, lost in thought.

The nanny came over with a tray, “Miss Qiao, your warm milk.”

Qiao Ruoxin snapped back to reality and took the tray, “Thank you.”

Then, she headed upstairs.

Her heartbeat suddenly quickened, and she felt tense all over.

Qiao Ruoxin reached the study but stopped in her tracks and turned back towards the master bedroom.

Entering the man’s bedroom, she found the imported medication that eased fits of temper and dropped a pill into the cup of milk.

Inside the study.

Suddenly, there was a knock at the door.

Mo Chen looked up and extinguished the cigarette in the ashtray, his voice deep, “Come in.”

The study’s door was pushed open, and Qiao Ruoxin walked in with a cup of warm milk.

A hint of warmth appeared in the man’s dark, icy eyes, and the corner of his mouth curled up.

“Mo Chen brother, drink this cup of warm milk,” she placed the warm milk on the desk.

Mo Chen frowned, glancing at the cup of warm milk with some distaste, and said coldly, “You drink it, I don’t like it.”

What kind of grown man drinks milk?

Qiao Ruoxin stared at the man for three seconds.

She parted her slender, straight legs and straddled his waist.

Mo Chen’s body stiffened slightly but quickly returned to normal, his long fingers naturally wrapping around her slender waist.

“Mo Chen, if you drink this milk, I’ll tell you about what happened two years ago.”

Her expression was so serious, it didn’t look like she was joking at all.

The air in the study seemed to freeze.

The man gazed at her delicate and pretty face and was silent for a long time.

That evening, Qiao Ruoxin was wearing a nude pink spaghetti strap mini dress, cinched at the waist emphasizing her curvaceous figure and delicate curves, with her gentle and romantic long curly hair falling to her waist.

At that moment, her skin glowed white, and her sparkling eyes fixed on Mo Chen.

“Little Ghost, are you seducing me?” His voice was husky to the extreme, and the color in his eyes noticeably darkened.

“You can think that if you like.”

Mo Chen stared at her lovely collarbone and asked in a deep voice, “Why have you decided to tell me now?”

She smiled gently, “Maybe it’s because the moonlight is beautiful tonight, or perhaps it’s because I’m in a good mood.”

The man picked up the cup of warm milk, a look of disgust fleeting across his handsome face, but he still downed it in one gulp.

With a ‘snap,’ the glass cup was placed on the desk.

“Go ahead, I’m listening,” he watched Qiao Ruoxin intently.

The next second, the Little Ghost kissed him, removing the trace of milk on his lips with her own.

He watched her expressionlessly, letting her kiss him, but didn’t respond.

Qiao Ruoxin pulled back from his lips, her slender fingers touching his tightly closed ones as she smiled and said, “Consider that a kiss in advance. Promise me, no matter what I say later, you can’t get angry. You need to stay calm.”

The man’s large hand squeezed her waist a little harder.

His voice was icy and merciless, “I didn’t promise you that.”

She chuckled, “Then please try to stay calm, Mr. Mo.”

“Are you fucking going to tell me or not? Are you here to trick me into drinking milk?”

The damn man was angry again, his temper was truly… very explosive.

Qiao Ruoxin lowered her gaze to the black collar of the man’s shirt, “Just listen to what I have to say, and you can talk after I’m done, okay?”

“Mhm.”

Chapter 97: I Really Didn’t Betray You She even found herself afraid to meet Mo Chen’s eyes.

Guilt, fear, panic.

An indescribable sense of shame.

“Two years ago, I never intended to really break up with you, I was just throwing a tantrum. You were involved in a research project due to business confidentialities, something I had no idea about, and then you started to disappear for months at a time, only keeping in touch through calls and WeChat.”

“…”

Gathering her courage, Qiao Ruoxin raised her eyes to look at the silent man and continued, “Everyone said that you were actually trying to break up, but were too embarrassed to say it outright, trying to save face for a little girl and pressuring me into initiating the breakup instead.”

“…” The man’s handsome face tightened, shrouded in dark clouds.

“It was precisely during that time that my dad had an affair, and my mom was making a fuss about divorce. I was in a really bad mood. When I finally saw you after a month, you didn’t explain anything and just fiercely slept with me all night, then you continued to disappear.”

“…”

Tears began to well up in Qiao Ruoxin’s eyes: “At that time, I felt extremely humiliated, and together with my father’s affair, that’s why I impulsively made a scene about breaking up with you.”

At this point, Mo Chen’s expression had turned even uglier, as if a storm was about to break at any moment.

“On the day it snowed, you waited for me all night, and then you beat my stepfather’s son until he was bleeding all over the ground. To tell you the truth, I was quite disappointed in you that day.”

“…” The pressure of his grip on her slender waist increased.

Qiao Ruoxin smiled faintly: “That night, my mom took me to meet my stepfather. I really didn’t betray you. My mom and I talked all night. At daybreak, I was determined to return home. My stepbrother offered to take me back, and that was that.”

“…”

“My mom intended to marry into the Lawrence Family, and it just so happened that we had argued, so I decided to attend the wedding and then explain everything to you when I returned. I didn’t want to indulge your bad temper any longer.”

The man’s lips curved into a self-mocking smile.

Having heard all this, the rot within his chest seemed to intensify.

“But I never expected that once I left, it would be for two years.”

Mo Chen snorted derisively, letting out a scornful laugh: “Qiao Ruoxin, you didn’t leave, you vanished from the Human World! I couldn’t find you no matter where I searched! You were nowhere to be found!”

Her thick, long eyelashes trembled: “I was imprisoned by them, I simply couldn’t leave! My mom wanted me to stay by her side, saying I was too young to understand what love is. She claimed everything she did was for my own good, insisting you would never cherish me, and she also wanted to…”

At this point, Qiao Ruoxin struggled to continue.

Mo Chen’s long fingers violently gripped her chin, his eyes burning with anger: “What did your mom want to do!”

“My mom… wanted me to marry my stepbrother…”

As expected…

The man’s dark eyes flashed slightly, followed by a cold laugh: “So it turns out, that trash got what he deserved from me. My only regret is not killing him on the spot.”

Qiao Ruoxin looked at his handsome face, her heart pounding violently.

Let’s leave it at that, she had said all that could be said.

The rest… were things unspeakable, also things that would provoke Mo Chen.

“I’ve said everything…”

Mo Chen looked at her with a slightly nervous gaze, his voice stern and cold-blooded: “Little Ghost, over these two years, have you been trying to accept that piece of trash.”

“I haven’t!” she immediately retorted.

Chapter 98: You Don’t Actually Love Me, Do You? Mo Chen was furious, suddenly erupting in anger, “You couldn’t give me a single phone call in two years? Or send one message! Even just one word!”

She had been imprisoned by her own mother, how badly could she be abused?

“My mom locked me up in the Lawrence Family manor, wouldn’t let me go out, and I wasn’t allowed to use any communications devices. Plus, my mom always lied to me, saying she was in poor health, and I didn’t dare to make her angry, I…”

Saying so much, even she felt like it was an excuse.

Qiao Ruoxin suddenly felt a bit angry, “Also, she showed me the rumors about you, and at that time, my heart really turned cold. I thought you had a new girlfriend…”

Even now, when she recalled the rumors she had seen back then, it still made her very upset.

At these words,

Mo Chen suddenly let out a laugh, his laughter full of mockery and despair, “So you saw them…”

It was the fifth month after Little Ghost had disappeared when he deliberately let the media expose the rumors to force Qiao Ruoxin to come out.

He thought Qiao Ruoxin would suddenly appear, calling him a scumbag, or even slap him across the face.

But in the end, reality told him that he had overestimated his importance in Qiao Ruoxin’s heart.

“So you saw the rumors of me with other women, and you were indifferent, choosing to give up, is that it?”

“…”

At that time, she hadn’t just chosen to give up on Mo Chen, she also chose to give up on herself, which is why she attempted suicide in the bathroom.

Mo Chen grabbed her chin, staring into her eyes, “Why choose to come back after two years? Why think of finding me only after two years have passed?”

“I…”

She was just about to answer when she was suddenly held in his embrace.

Qiao Ruoxin’s chin rested on the man’s broad shoulders.

A deep, cold voice reached her ear from Mo Chen, “Forget it, I don’t want to listen anymore. As long as you’re by my side now, that’s enough.”

She let out a gentle laugh, hugging the man’s body.

“Little Ghost, you actually don’t love me at all, do you?”

Qiao Ruoxin’s body stiffened, pushing away from the man, “Why would you say that?”

He spoke lightly, “You’ve known me since you were 14. Aside from calling me ‘brother’ every time you see me, have you had any other thoughts about me?”

“…”

She couldn’t help but widen her eyes, somewhat shocked.

She hadn’t.

But she wanted to retort, “That’s because you were always so cold to me. With our age difference, I thought you wouldn’t like a child like me…”

Qiao Ruoxin’s words were cut off as the man interrupted her, “During the summer and winter vacations, whenever you went to Bai Junyan’s place, I was there. Do you think that was just a coincidence?”

She was at a loss for words, unsure of how to respond.

Could it be… Mo Chen was there to see her???

Indeed, as she recalled, whenever she and Lan Ke went to Bai Junyan’s place to hang out, she always saw Mo Chen with a cold demeanor, sitting on the couch, arrogantly snobbish and begging for a thrashing.

Mo Chen lit another cigarette and put it between his lips, exhaling the smoke onto her face.

“Cough cough…” She was a bit choked by the smoke, coughing twice.

He spoke in a deep voice, “If it weren’t for me ruthlessly eliminating those men who tried every means to pursue you, you would probably belong to someone else by now, right?”

Ever since Little Ghost got into film school, there were too many rich young men chasing after her.

As Gu Mocheng had said, she was the ideal type for most of the rich heirs in their circle.

“…” She was shocked once more.

So those men who had given up halfway through pursuing her had all been dealt with by Mo Chen?

Seeing her astonished expression, Mo Chen let out a scornful, disdainful chuckle, “To you, I’m nothing more than a powerful and influential wastrel, hot-tempered, weird in character, and treating you hot and cold.”

“It’s not like that…”

Chapter 99: Why Cry? Mo Chen extinguished the cigarette butt in the ashtray.

His tone was indifferent and cold-blooded, “Little Ghost, do you know what I was thinking about when I was stuck in the car, unable to move after the accident?”

“…” She shook her head.

He let out a hollow laugh, with a touch of despair in his dark eyes, “I was wondering, if I died just like that, would you cry? Or would you be haunted by my death? In the end, I concluded you wouldn’t.”

Qiao Ruoxin’s eyes filled with shock. Was she really that heartless in Mo Chen’s eyes?

“You might be sad for a while, then you would continue with your life and never think of me again. The more I thought about it, the more I hated you. All I had in my mind was the impulse to kill you, so, I had to survive. Only by living could I kill you.”

Suddenly, her tears broke free, slowly trailing down her cheeks.

Panic flickered through Mo Chen’s dark eyes, and he clasped her slender waist with his large hand, pulling her into his embrace.

“Why the hell are you crying?” His tone was harsh, but there was a hint of tenderness.

“Because you said I don’t love you.”

Qiao Ruoxin’s voice was slightly tinged with sobs, pitiful and aggrieved.

She lowered her head and fiercely bit down on the man’s shoulder, followed by his muffled groan of pain.

The arms that held her tightened even more, as if trying to crush her into his bones.

This damn man was infuriating!

After all that talk, he portrayed her as a heartless, vain brat!

She didn’t know how long she bit him, but finally, she let go, with tears still silently falling.

Mo Chen slightly raised his eyebrows, gripped her chin, “Done biting? The marks you left on my neck haven’t even faded yet, and now you bite my shoulder; why do you like biting people so much?”

She huffed angrily, “I’ll bite you! I really want to bite you to death!”

The man laughed out loud, wiping away her tears with a tissue, “Then keep biting. It’s quite comfortable.”

“…” Qiao Ruoxin suddenly stood up, “Mo Chen, you’re a dead pervert! Didn’t you say I don’t love you? Fine, I don’t love you! What are you going to do about it? I hope it pisses you off!”

She took such a huge risk to sneak back, only to be treated like a dog!

It was maddening!

Damn man!!!

Just as she was about to turn and leave, Mo Chen pulled her back into his arms, circling her slender waist once again.

“Little Ghost, it doesn’t matter whether you love me or not. What matters is that I’ve set my sights on you, and you don’t have a choice.”

His deep, ocean-like eyes stared into Qiao Ruoxin’s tearful ones. Then his large hand cradled her cheek, leaning in to capture the red lips he’d been eyeing for so long.

“Mmm…”

Qiao Ruoxin struggled uncooperatively, pounding on his shoulder, which was precisely the one she had just bitten.

The man frowned, enduring the pain, but still kissed her for a while before letting her go.

“Didn’t you say I don’t love you? Then why do you still want me? Are you sick?” she gasped lightly.

Mo Chen’s long fingers caressed her chin, his voice deep, “I’m psychologically disturbed.”

“You! Completely unreasonable!”

She was really on the verge of crying from frustration!

“Why would you reason with a psycho? I won’t listen,” his tone was authoritative and domineering, allowing no room for refusal.

Mo Chen looked down at her dress, “Stop squirming; you’re pushing up your dress.”

???

Qiao Ruoxin looked down at her dress with a puzzled expression and instantly blushed.

She was still straddling the man’s lap, and instinctively covered his eyes with her small hands, “Don’t look!”

But Mo Chen chuckled softly, “Mmm…”

She got up from his embrace and straightened her dress.

The next second, the man’s low voice resonated, “Little Ghost, it’s okay if you don’t love me, but if you fall for someone else and come crying, begging me to let you be together, I might make the two of you die for love, vanishing forever from my world. What I can’t have, I’d rather not see it for the rest of my life.”

Qiao Ruoxin’s fingertips trembled involuntarily.

Had Mo Chen’s obsession reached such a level?

Chapter 100: Mo Chen Says I Don’t Love Him Late at night, in the bedroom.

Qiao Ruoxin lay on the dark green bedsheet, wrapped in a dark green blanket, her body embraced by a man.

This damn man had fallen into a deep sleep, but she was wide awake with insomnia.

Her head was filled with Mo Chen’s words from earlier that night, saying she didn’t love him.

It felt as if he was brainwashing her.

Two years ago, her mother had done the same, claiming she was too young and naive, insisting she had no understanding of love.

So… what really is love?

Her slender fingers touched the man’s high, proud nose, while a dense, prickling pain filled her heart.

Did she truly not love Mo Chen?

If she didn’t love him, why had she given him all of her firsts?

Qiao Ruoxin found herself lost in confusion and conflict.

That night, she suffered from insomnia and finally understood Master Mo’s agony—insomnia was truly unbearable.

Early morning, seven o’clock.

Qiao Ruoxin got out of bed, finished washing up, changed her clothes, glanced at the man still sleeping deeply in bed, and then left the bedroom.

Shuian Huating.

Instead of heading directly to the training camp, she had the bodyguard drive her to Lan Ke’s home.

Pressing the doorbell, Lan Ke showed up to open the door, bleary-eyed and wearing a strappy nightgown.

“Ringing my doorbell so early in the morning like this, are you trying to kill me…”

Upon seeing her, Lan Ke turned and went back into the living room.

“I want to ask you something,” Qiao Ruoxin followed her through the door.

Lan Ke poured two glasses of water and set them on the coffee table, her voice lazy and blurred, “What is it?”

Qiao Ruoxin bit her lip, “Mo Chen says I don’t love him.”

At those words, Lan Ke instantly woke up, opening her eyes wide, “Indeed, you don’t love him enough.”

Qiao Ruoxin’s heart skipped a beat, and her gaze immediately dimmed.

“Even you think so?” There was a sense of defeat.

Lan Ke took a sip from the glass, “You’ve never worried about whether Master Mo loves you, right? Because you know he does, he makes it very obvious.”

“Ruoxin, up until now, I feel like you haven’t understood what love is.”

Qiao Ruoxin’s expression was complex, “Then… what does it mean to love?”

Lan Ke said, “Like me, I broke off relations with my family just to be with Bai Junyan. Can you do that?”

Lan Ke continued, “Ruoxin, to say you don’t love Mo Chen at all would be wrong, but it’s just that you don’t love him deeply enough.”

“What do you mean?” She didn’t understand, she really didn’t.

“If you broke up with him completely and another man of the same type appeared, you could be with him, but Master Mo couldn’t. As far as I know, there’s a flight attendant somewhat similar to you around him, but he’s never been moved.”

Qiao Ruoxin’s fingertips curled, was she talking about Lin Xi?

“That’s because Mo Chen has a serious case of paranoia!”

Lan Ke laughed, “No, no, no, if just any substitute could replace you, then it has nothing to do with love, it’s just an obsession.”

For a moment, she didn’t know how to react.

She had to admit, she was shaken.

Qiao Ruoxin lowered her eyes to the glass of water on the coffee table, clear and hollow, much like her own heart at that moment.

It was like questioning the whole of life!

Lan Ke gently patted her shoulder, “You know, when we were kids, every time I played with Bai Junyan, Master Mo was sure to be there. Haven’t you ever wondered why?”

Her eyes widened, “You all saw it from the start?”

“Of course! The way Mo Chen looked at you was very different, intense and full of possessiveness.”
