Ch. 2051..2060

The Divorced Heiress Revenge Chapter 2051-Aaron was terrified, his whole body trembling. He quickly covered the girl's corpse with a blanket. As he sat shivering at the foot of the bed and contemplating whether to call the police, there was a knock at the door.

It was 4:00 a.m. Could it be room service? Impossible!

Aaron nervously approached the entrance, his voice trembling uncontrollably. "Wh-Who's there?!"

"Mr. Larson," came a calm, steady voice from outside. "I'm here on Mr. Iverson's orders to help you take care of your inconvenience."

Aaron tried to maintain his composure. "I… I don't know what you're talking about!"

"The girl that you were with last night-she should still be in your room, yes? How is she doing now?"

A warning bell went off in Aaron's mind, and he immediately opened the door.

Standing outside was a man dressed in all-black, covered from head to toe, leaving only his eyes exposed, which were as sharp and cold as an eagle's.

"How… How do you know?" Aaron was shocked, his face drained of color.

Without saying a word, the man lifted his phone and played a video in front of Aaron.

The video showed the entire incident from the previous night-Aaron violently assaulting the girl, then injecting her with drugs.

Everything was clearly captured by a hidden camera in the room. The video continued, showing him falling into a deep sleep after he was done. While he slept, the girl began convulsing, foaming at the mouth, and eventually becoming completely still as her body grew stiff.

Aaron's face turned as pale as a ghost, cold sweat soaking his back. He yanked the man into the room and locked the door.

"There was a hidden camera in the room?! Was it you? Was it Christopher?!"

Aaron grabbed the man's collar, gritting his teeth in anger, but his earlier indulgences had left him weak, his voice and strength both lacking.

The man squinted, his eyes full of dark amusement. "Should I commend you for being smart, or is the answer to your question just too obvious?"

"Christopher…! That bastard! He dared to set me up!"

Aaron's eyes turned red with fury as he swung a punch at the man's face.

But in an instant, the man easily caught his wrist and flipped him over his shoulder, slamming him onto the sofa. Pain shot through Aaron's tailbone, stars dancing in his vision.

"Mr. Larson, this isn't the time for useless rage." The man dusted his hands off, letting out a cold laugh." You should be thinking about what would happen if this video ended up in the hands of the police."

Aaron's heart pounded in his throat, his legs going weak. "What… What do you want?"

"Don't worry. I'm here to clean up this mess for you." The man walked into the bedroom and pulled a black nylon bag from his backpack. He placed the woman's body inside, zipped it up, and tied it securely. Then, with practiced efficiency, he meticulously erased all traces of the incident.

Aaron watched in stunned silence, his mouth agape. The man's calm and methodical way of handling the corpse made it seem as if it were a routine task, like eating a meal.

"Who… Who are you?" Aaron asked, his voice shaking with fear.

"The body has been taken care of." The man did not answer, his tone cold and detached as he dragged the bodybag toward the door. "Also, Mr. Iverson asked me to deliver a message. He says that since you've chosen to board his ship, you should understand that your fates are tied. If you ever speak out of turn, Mr. Iverson won't cover for your little accident tonight."

Aaron could only watch helplessly as the man left the room, his soul leaving his body in fear.

Before dawn, a black car pulled into Pivotage.

As soon as the man stepped out of the vehicle, two of Taylor's men approached and loaded the body into their car.

Once back in his car, the man removed his mask, revealing Owen's pale, grief-stricken face, etched with exhaustion and sorrow.

After a long while, he finally picked up his phone and dialed Christopher's number.

When the call connected, he spoke respectfully, "Mr. Iverson, I've taken care of the matter as you requested."

"Taylor already informed me. You've done well."

The Divorced Heiress Revenge Chapter 2052-Christopher chuckled. "Tomorrow, a sum of money will be transferred to your overseas account. Please check it."

"Mr. Iverson, I don't work for you because of money…"

"I know," Christopher cut in, his tone unyielding. "But I will not shortchange anyone who works for me. This is what you deserve."

Despite his seemingly generous words, there was an unmistakable arrogance in his voice. "Besides, your wife's medical bills each year aren't cheap, right? I'd wager your savings aren't enough."

"Then… Thank you." Owen hesitated before asking the question that had been gnawing at him. "Mr. Iverson, several people have experienced rejection reactions recently-some even died. This suggests the new drug is still highly unstable. Will it really be successful?"

There was a long silence on the other end.

Though Owen had weathered countless storms, he could not help but feel a twinge of anxiety.

"Deputy Chief Hopkins," Christopher finally spoke, his tone still light, almost casual. "Have you met with anyone recently?"

Owen's heart skipped a beat, but he forced himself to lie. "No. I've just been worried about my wife's deteriorating condition."

His voice remained steady, revealing nothing to Christopher.

"A few problematic test samples don't prove anything," Christopher reassured him gently. "No experiment is without setbacks. We must trust the process. The experiment will be successful."

After Watson's press conference, the police took him into custody. However, considering his health, all interrogations were conducted in the hospital. Meanwhile, the higher-ups at Southern Star Syndicate, who had been profiting from the sale of illegal drugs, including Jordan, were all arrested, and their stashes of drugs were confiscated.

At the same time, under public pressure, the authorities formed a special task force led by Ralph to launch a vigorous anti-drug campaign across Savrow.

A month passed in a blur. No new deaths from drug use were reported in Savrow, and the situation seemed to have stabilized for the moment.

That evening, Bella was in her study, lying on the sofa, reviewing the mountain of financial documents that had piled up. As she read, she unknowingly drifted off to sleep.

Half-asleep, she felt a warm sensation enveloping her body. Her lips tingled with a soft, sweet touch, the sensation wrapping around her tongue, making her feel cozy and intoxicated.

"Mm…"

Bella woke up under the tender assault, her eyes glazed with a dreamy sheen. She raised her slender arms to wrap around the man's neck, passionately responding to his kiss.

Justin's eyes burned with desire as his large hands caressed her, rumpling her thin silk robe. The straps trembled as they slid down her shoulders, inching lower and lower.

"Mm… Stop it," Bella murmured, pulling away from his moist lips, her body now completely bare beneath him, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment.

Justin's strong chest pressed against hers, his voice thick and hoarse. "Bella, with you being this eager, how can I resist?"

"We're an old married couple now. How was I supposed to know you'd still react like this…?" Bella's words trailed off, but her hand, delicate as jade, was far from innocent as it traced down his chest, her fingers hooking onto his belt.

"Dessert can wait till later," Justin growled, swallowing hard as he suppressed his urges.

Gently, he lifted the petite woman off the sofa, holding her close. "Let's go downstairs and eat the dinner I made first."

"You've already made it? You're getting quicker." Bella smiled, slipping back into her robe before giving his lips a playful peck.

"Dinner needs to be made quickly, but dessert should be savored slowly," Justin replied, returning her kiss with a deep chuckle rumbling in his throat.

Bella playfully pushed him away, about to say something, when her phone rang.

Justin picked it up from the coffee table and handed it to her. "It's Ralph."

"Oh?" Bella quickly answered, "Ralph, what's going on?"

"Bella, big news!" Ralph, usually so composed, practically shouted into the phone, his voice pitched high with excitement. "Aaron has been formally arrested for stockpiling large quantities of that illegal drug!"

The Divorced Heiress Revenge Chapter 2053-Bella and Justin exchanged shocked glances. Although they had always believed that Aaron's arrogant and self-important nature would eventually lead to his downfall, they had not expected it to happen so soon.

"Ralph, was it your people who were tracking Aaron that led to his capture?" Bella asked curiously.

"No, we received an anonymous tip that led us to Aaron's warehouse, where the illegal drugs were hidden. And that's not all-we also found two bodies of the Southern Star Syndicate members on one of Larson Group's ships near the warehouse dock!"

The couple's eyes widened in shock.

"The bodies had been frozen, so they were well preserved and hadn't decomposed. It seems the plan was to use the cargo ship to smuggle them out of the country for disposal. After all, Savrow is crawling with our police surveillance and cameras. Disposing of two bodies wouldn't have been easy," Ralph's voice darkened. "We conducted autopsies on the bodies immediately. As expected, both deaths were caused by drug poisoning."

Justin's brows furrowed, his gaze turning deep and thoughtful. "Ralph, you've been monitoring Aaron for over a month without him making any suspicious moves, but someone anonymously provides you with crucial information about his drug stash."

Bella, picking up on his thoughts, quickly added, “And not only that, but you also found bodies on a Larson Group's ship nearby. It's all too convenient, isn't it? It feels like someone's orchestrating this."

"Bella, it does seem coincidental, but one thing is indisputable." Ralph took a deep breath, his voice heavy with seriousness. "Larson Group is currently the largest supplier of illegal drugs that we've uncovered in Savrow. Not only have we raided their hideouts, but the warehouse employees and Aaron's personal secretary have also confessed to their involvement in the illegal drug trade. However, they all deny having killed anyone or hidden bodies, and they claim they have no idea where the two corpses came from. We're still investigating this."

"Ralph, are you alright?" Bella couldn't help but notice the strain in Ralph's voice.

After all, the Larson family was Aunt Mila's family by birth. Even though Aunt Mila had severed ties with them after marrying into the Thompson family, the outside world still saw blood as thicker than water. The connection was undeniable.

Moreover, Alvin was Ralph's uncle, and Aaron was his cousin. This complicated relationship was not beneficial for Ralph, who was leading the investigation into the illegal drug case. He might even be forced to step down from the special task force because of it.

"Bella, I know what you're worried about, but I'll be fine." Ralph sighed, his voice tinged with resignation.

"I'm just concerned about my mother. Don't be fooled by her indifferent exterior or how she seems to have cut all ties with her family. Deep down, she doesn't want to see the Larson family fall into such disgrace. Even though she left the Larson family, she still hopes they'll be alright."

"Yes, Aunt Mila is very kind. After all, the Larson family is where she was born and raised, and she was once the most cherished daughter of Old Master Larson." Bella's voice wavered with emotion, her eyes stinging with unshed tears.

"Some media outlets have already caught wind of the Larson family's situation. By tomorrow morning, the news will be everywhere. Even if they don't break the story, our police department will release an office statement within the next couple of days. The higher-ups are very concerned about the illegal drug issue, and Aaron has basically walked right into our trap."

Ralph's tone shifted, becoming firm and resolute The evidence is overwhelming. Aaron has been involved in the large-scale linth

distribution of illegal drugs, whiomet has led to multiple deaths. Even if those two bodies have nothing to do with him, he can't escape responsibility. He'll be facing a long prison sentence, if not worse."

“Aaron's downfall will certainly prompt a response from Old Master Larson and Alvin. They'll do everything they can to protect him.” Bella squeezed Justin's hand, worry gleaming in her eyes.

“Justin, stay in Savrow and keep an eye on things. I need to go home tonight and be with Aunt Mila during this time."

Justin intertwined their fingers, giving a slight nod. "Alright, but if anything happens, call me immediately, no matter what time it is."

The Divorced Heiress Revenge Chapter 2054-After Aaron's arrest, the Larson family was thrown into unprecedented chaos.

Old Master Larson was so enraged that he fainted on the spot and had to be rushed to the hospital.

The police immediately brought Alvin in for questioning. He was kept at the station for so long that his hair started turning white before he was finally allowed to leave. However, they also imposed a travel ban on him, forbidding him from leaving Savrow until the case was resolved.

As Alvin was about to get into his car, shielded by his secretary and bodyguards, a rotten egg suddenly came flying from nowhere, smashing against his head.

"You're using live humans for experiments! You're insane, morally bankrupt!"

"You've killed so many innocent people just to develop your drugs! Have you no conscience?!"

"From now on, I'll never buy anything from Larson Group again! Boycott the Larson Group!"

Alvin's face turned beet red with anger as he covered his head and scrambled into the car, which sped off in a cloud of dust. The stench of rotten eggs filled the car, so overpowering that even the driver was on the verge of throwing up.

"Chairman Larson, should we head home to clean up and change clothes before going to the hospital to see Old Master Larson?" The secretary asked timidly.

Alvin finally dropped his usual facade of civility and respectability. In a fit of rage, he slapped the secretary across the face, venting his humiliation from the egg incident.

"Are you out of your mind?! At a time like this, you're worried about changing clothes?! We need to go see the old man at the hospital first!" Then he demanded, "Did the lawyer meet with Aaron? What did he say?!"

The secretary, blood trickling from his mouth, stammered, "Our lawyer said that the young master has confessed to hiding illegal drugs and selling large quantities to gangs like Southern Star. He's admitted to everything!"

Alvin's mind buzzed with shock as he roared, "Why didn't he expose the drug supplier behind this? Has he lost his mind?!"

"That's the strange part!” The secretary was equally baffled. "The et young master isn't the type to take all the blame like this! Given the severity of the situation, he should be trying to shift responsibility. If he shoulders this alone, he could be looking at ten years or more in prison!

et "Even though the young master didn't personally kill anyone and the drugs he sold weren't narcotics, our lawyer says that the public panic caused by the human experiment scandal, coupled with the deaths, makes this akin to manslaughter! Even if we hire the best defense lawyers in the world, the young master will likely spend the rest of his life…" “Shut your damn mouth!" Alvin slapped the secretary again.

Despite his anger, a dark, guilty relief crept into Alvin's mind. Aaron had conducted this business in secret with his father's tacit approval and support. If his son cracked under pressure and implicated him, the entire Larson family would be doomed. But as long as Aaron did not break, the family's downfall would not be inevitable. There was still hope for a turnaround.

--- Alvin arrived at the hospital and quickly freshened up in the restroom before hurrying to the VIP ward to see Old Master Austin Larson.

"Dad, I'm here…" Alvin began as he entered the room, only to freeze in his tracks, stunned.

There, sitting beside the bed, was Mila, gently feeding Austin some porridge.

The Divorced Heiress Revenge Chapter 2055-"Mila?! What are you doing here?" Alvin's heart sank, and his expression changed instantly.

Despite their past conflicts, including Mila slapping him in a moment of anger, he found himself stirred by a deep, primal attraction. His gaze fixated on her refined, elegant face.

"You must be swamped with everything going on and haven't had time to attend to Dad," Mila said, placing the bowl down and gently wiping Austin's mouth without even glancing at Alvin.

"Even though I'm married now and you've been so unwelcoming, I'm still a heiress of the Larson family. It would be inhumane not to return at a time like this."

Alvin furrowed his brows, filled with suspicion.

"Mila… Thank you for coming to see me…" Austin's eyes were misty with tears as he clutched his daughter's hand tightly, as if passing on an important responsibility. "I've been too harsh on you in the past. I let stubbornness create misunderstandings between us for so many years…"

"I've long forgiven you, Dad," Mila replied with a gentle smile, softly reassuring him. “ Blood is thicker than water. You will always be my father, and we will always be a family." To Alvin, her words were like a stab in the heart. In the end, Mila was the only blood relative Austin had. At such a critical moment, their reconciliation made him seem like an outsider.

Austin's voice was warm but tired. "Mila, you've had a long day. You should go home and rest. I need to speak with your brother."

Mila obediently stood up. As she passed Alvin, she cast a cold, piercing glance at him that was both startling and ominous.

Once the door closed, the previous warmth dissipated, leaving only tension in the room. "What do you plan to do about Aaron?" Austin asked, his voice trembling.

Alvin gritted his teeth and responded gravely, "Dad, with Aaron now in custody and all evidence against him, there's no turning back. We need to immediately sever ties with Aaron! We must deny any involvement with illegal drugs!"

Austin was horrified. "What… What are you saying?! You're going to completely abandon Aaron?! He's your son!"

"He's my son, but his actions have severely harmed the Larson family's interests. He's a ticking time bomb! If we don't cut him off decisively, the entire Larson family will be dragged down with him!" Alvin's tone was cold and unyielding, as if his son were merely a disposable pawn.

Austin stared at Alvin, his shock and disbelief evident. This son, whom he had painstakingly nurtured for 40 years, now seemed like a stranger.

"Alvin…. I need you to answer me honestly if you still consider me your father. Did you know about Aaron's drug activities? Were you involved?"

Alvin's expression remained unchanged, and without a moment's hesitation, he said, "No, Aaron acted out of greed and made his own mistakes. I knew nothing about these illicit activities."

"You're still lying to me at a time like this!" Austin, with his last ounce of strength, grabbed a cup from the bedside table and hurled it at Alvin. He didn't dodge in time, and the cup tipped over, spilling milk all over his suit.

Alvin was on the verge of losing his composure. Enraged, Alvin's face flushed crimson." Dad! What are you doing?!"

"Over the past six months, Aaron has been transferring money into your account every month, and this money soon appears in the company's accounts. Aaron only recently got involved in the business. How could he know about the drug storage warehouse? Isn't it because you secretly instructed him?"

Seeing that the truth was coming to light, Alvin stopped pretending and let out a cold, sinister laugh.

The Divorced Heiress Revenge Chapter 2056-"Heh… Even if I did know about it, so what?"

"Alvin! Do you even know what you're doing? You're trafficking drugs! You are pushing the Larson family off a cliff!" Austin's eyes were alight with anger. His entire body trembled.

"Wrong! I did this to save the Larson family!" Alvin stood tall and proud, without a trace of regret or guilt in his eyes.

"Do you think the group's current operations are good? Our medicine sales have declined year after year, losing billions each time. I only showed you what I wanted you to see! That Alzheimer's drug research ran out of money long ago. If Aaron hadn't come up with this idea to recuperate some funds, our group's cash flow would have been in the red half a year ago! So in a way, you should be thanking me. Without me, the Larson family name would not have survived until today!"

"You animal… Speaking such nonsense… Are you even human?!" Austin clutched his chest, shouting in anger. "Even if the Larson family went bankrupt and ended up begging on the streets, we would never stoop that low and do something so unconscionable!"

"Hypocrite," Alvin sneered.

Austin pounded the bed in fury. "You animal! Unfilial son! Was it not enough for you to ruin the Larson family? You have ruined your own son as well! Aaron was such a good child, yet you corrupted him! Arnold even severed ties with you. Alvin, you have disappointed me greatly! You are not fit to be the heir of the Larson family!"

"If I am not fit, then who is? Arnold, who is involved with the eldest son of the Thompson family, or Mila, who became Wyatt's mistress and disgraced our family?"

Alvin glanced coldly at the dying old man, not bothering to argue further. He turned and left. "Father, you have no other choice. The heir to the Larson family can only be me!"

Back at the Larson residence, Alvin showered, put on a bathrobe, and collapsed onto the sofa. He poured himself a glass of whiskey.

After having to pretend to be a filial son for decades, finally tearing off the facade with Austin brought him an unprecedented sense of relief.

Alvin called out to his secretary.

"Tomorrow, release an official statement through the Larson Group's social media. Announce that everything was Aaron's personal actions and that it has no ties with the Larson family. We are a pharmaceutical group. If we become linked to human experimentation, we will be ruined!"

The secretary felt a chill run through his body. Alvin was ruthless. In the name of the family's best interest, he would even willingly abandon his son.

"Also, erase all transfer records from this period. Don't allow the police to trace Aaron's actions back to me." To ensure the secretary understood the severity of the situation, Alvin spoke again with a sinister tone. "If any mistakes are made, I won't go down alone. I will drag you down with the Larson family."

The secretary nodded hurriedly.

"Did you get the surveillance footage from the hospital?" Alvin asked.

"Yes, here." The secretary handed him a USB drive.

Alvin plugged it into the computer and played the video.

The conversation between Mila and Austin could be heard clearly.

--"Dad, you must stop Alvin's actions immediately, or the entire Larson family will be doomed!"

"I was foolish. Why did I not see through that boy's ambition sooner! It's too late to regret it now… He has grown too powerful, and the Larson family cannot survive without him."

--"Dad, if you need an heir, no one is more suitable than Arnold! He is highly skilled in medicine and has influence in Meridan. He will be able to manage the hospital well. As for business, Asher has plenty of experience. Arnold can learn from Asher and will definitely become a great asset in time!"

"Mila, I want to change my will. I want to appoint you as the next heir of the Larson family!"

The Divorced Heiress Revenge Chapter 2057-Alvin's face paled instantly. His hand trembled with rage. He slammed the computer shut, his face flushed with anger.

The secretary was at a loss. "Chairman Larson, what should we do now?"

"I see now. The old man never truly considered me his son! Even after all these years of service, he only ever saw me as a tool. He only cares about Mila!" Alvin smashed the computer onto the floor in a fit of rage. All his affections for Mila vanished in an instant, insignificant in the face of profit.

Alvin was vibrating with fury, and he yelled out in frustration. "Dad, you've forced my hand at this point."

That evening, Bella hurried back to Yara Park. She went straight to see Mila, who had just finished treating Wyatt and was coming out of the room.

"Aunt Mila, did you visit Old Master Larson? How is he?" Bella pulled her aside, worried.

"He's not doing well," Mila replied, holding Bella's hand. Her eyes were red-rimmed." Bella, there's something I just told Wyatt. Now that you're here, I need to tell you too. The Larson family is in a critical situation. I might have to go back to help my father manage the Larson Group."

"Aunt Mila, have you and your father finally reconciled?" Bella's eyes widened in surprise. "Yes. I'm quite undeserving of it, right?" Mila smiled bitterly.

"Not at all! I'm so glad you reconciled with your family!" Bella said with relief. "I was afraid you'd be trapped in past grudges. It's wonderful that you can all move on. Both Wyatt and I fully support you! The Thompson family will always be your home, and we will always be here for support. Do whatever you want with confidence. Even if Wyatt doesn't support you, Justin, Arnold, and I will always stand by you!"

"Bella, thank you." Mila hugged Bella as tears rolled down her cheeks.

"By the way, Aunt Mila, what position will you take when you return to the Larson Group?" Bella asked curiously. "Isn't Alvin the current chairman? Will you be replacing Aaron? Surely, if a Thompson family member becomes involved, it can only be at the highest level. You shouldn't accept being a mere high-ranking employee. Make sure to discuss this thoroughly with your father."

Mila pursed her lips, her gaze firm. "My father wants me to take full control of the Larson Group. He wants me to replace Alvin as the heir to the Larson family."

Bella was shocked into silence. While she knew that Austin loved his daughter, that old man was not as progressive as Wyatt.

Austin would not simply dismiss Alvin unless absolutely necessary. Not unless Alvin had been involved in something intolerable.

"When I was younger, I was eager to manage the business. Now, I just want to take care of Wyatt and live peacefully with the children. I recommended Arnold to my father, but he lacks management skills. During these tough times, I have to help the Larson family survive."

"Has Old Master Larson already informed Alvin about this?"

Mila shook her head. "When I visited my father this afternoon, Alvin came by. My father pulled him aside to talk. I'm not sure if they discussed this matter."

"Aunt Mila, I have a bad feeling about this! We need to send more people to the hospital to protect your father!" Bella said with determination. She had a plan to capture them all at once.

Mila froze for a moment. As she realized the gravity of the situation, cold sweat formed on her forehead. "We must be discreet and not alert anyone. Everything must be done in secret!" Bella said, her eyes dark and calculating.

The Divorced Heiress Revenge Chapter 2058-The public was in an uproar when Aaron was arrested. The Larson Group became the target of widespread criticism. Although there was no concrete evidence linking the pharmaceutical company's human experiments to Larson Biotech, suspicion alone was enough to tarnish their reputation.

"Mr. Iverson, you are truly impressive! A master strategist!" Taylor praised Christopher as he read the online comments. "Aaron has become our scapegoat. Public opinion is now overwhelmingly attacking Larson Group, condemning them as the main culprits behind the human experiments! Mr. Iverson, everything is under your control!"

Christopher swung his golf club, unbothered, easily achieving a hole-in-one. "Those who work for me must be completely under my control. I will not use those who are not. I promised the Boss that things in Savrow would be handled cleanly, and I always keep my word."

Taylor looked smug. "Now that Aaron is in a tight spot, if he dares to mention your name to the police, if he utters even a single word, the video of him drugging and killing a woman will spread throughout Savrow. Drug trafficking might only get him a ten-year sentence with a good lawyer, but killing someone, even accidentally, in addition to disposing of the body, would likely result in the death penalty or life imprisonment. As long as we have this video evidence, he will have no choice but to take this secret to his grave."

"You're right. He should take the secret to his grave," Christopher said calmly, swinging his club again. Taylor was startled. "You mean…"

Christopher smiled slightly. "Find a suitable opportunity to get rid of him."

"Mr. Iverson, it's a sensitive time now. Why take this unnecessary risk? With the leverage we have, Aaron won't dare to speak out. You can rest easy," Taylor took the golf club that was handed to him.

"Firstly, I trust no one but the dead." Christopher walked to the sofa, swirling a glass of red wine. " Secondly, if Aaron is found dead at this critical time, what do you think the public will believe?"

Taylor's eyes widened. "They will think that he couldn't bear the pressure and committed suicide out of guilt."

"I mentioned before that I like to extract all possible value from something. Aaron's final value lies in this." Christopher sipped on his wine, savoring the taste of his impending victory. "Handle it quickly and make it look believable."

"Yes, Mr. Iverson!"

"Any movements from Deputy Chief Hopkins recently?"

"I've had people watching him. Since helping Aaron dispose of the body, he's only been seen going to work and visiting his half-dead wife at the nursing home. He hasn't been anywhere or met with anyone else."

"Notify me immediately if anything changes."

"Mr. Iverson, if… And I'm just saying if… Deputy Chief Hopkins does something out of line, what will you do?"

"I'll do what needs to be done," Christopher said, glaring at him. "Don't ask obvious questions."

Taylor bowed repeatedly as he backed out of the room. In Christopher's eyes, everyone was an ant- insignificant. The only exception was Bella, who was like a bright moon in his dark world, unique and precious.

By the time Owen left the nursing home, it was late in the night.

He decided to stay with his wife in the hospital. Exhausted from a day of caregiving, he stepped out for a walk to clear his head. As he passed by a television in a storefront, he saw the news of Aaron's arrest and the drug footage. Several people walking by stopped to watch beside him.

Owen's eyes were tired, and he walked past expressionlessly, as if the news had nothing to do with him. He entered a quiet cafe, ordered the cheapest coffee, and sat in a corner, lost in thought. The latest diagnosis for his wife brought tears to his eyes and a deep ache in his heart.

"Darling…" Owen whispered, closing his eyes in pain. He pulled out a cigarette, placed it between his dry lips, and patted his empty pockets for a lighter.

Suddenly, there was a click.

A small orange flame appeared in front of him. Owen looked up, and his heart clenched. The man standing before him was tall and handsome, exuding both nobility and arrogance.

"Deputy Chief Hopkins, what a coincidence." Justin had on a barely perceptible smile. He lit the cigarette for Owen, who was still in a daze.

How many people in the country could claim the honor of Justin Salvador lighting their cigarette?

The Divorced Heiress Revenge Chapter 2059-"May I sit down?" Justin's voice was polite.

"Please do."

The man sat gracefully across from him, alone and unencumbered with bodyguards. Wordlessly, the atmosphere was charged with tension.

"Mr. Salvador, a man of your stature wouldn't normally come to a place like this for coffee," Owen said, taking a deep drag of his cigarette. "This isn't a coincidence. You've been following me."

"Not at all," Justin replied, his lips curling slightly. "My wife told me about what happened at the nursing home that day. She said if you're not at your office, you'd surely be here. After all, Deputy Chief Hopkins, you're as devoted to your wife as I am to mine. No matter how far the detour, we end up in the same place." His words were so layered that only a practiced person could decipher the conversation.

"Are you married to Ms. Thompson?" Owen asked, puffing on his cigarette.

"Not yet," Justin replied.

"Then calling her 'wife' is just a term of endearment. We're not the same kind of people. You wouldn't understand my situation."

Justin's jaw tightened, but he remained calm and composed. He spoke in a low voice. "Aaron Larson was suddenly arrested. Doesn't that strike you as odd?"

Owen's eyes remained indifferent. "The Savrow police are not incompetent. Justice has finally caught up with him. It's his fate."

Justin looked at him intently. "Who do you think will be next?"

The air grew thick with tension.

"How should I know?" Owen responded coolly, though his fingers trembled, causing ash to fall from his cigarette.

"Aaron had close dealings with Christopher. He helped distribute illegal drugs and amass his fortune. Even though Aaron was the president of Larson Biotech and held a significant position in Hatchbay, Christopher still sacrificed Aaron as a scapegoat. In Christopher's eyes, no one is trustworthy," Justin said, his sharp eyes narrowing. "When the job is done, the tools are discarded. Do you think Christopher sees you any differently?"

"If you have nothing else to say, I'll take my leave," Owen said, feeling the gravity of the situation.

He knew Savrow was full of Christopher's spies, and being seen with Justin would be hard to explain. Christopher was ruthless and suspicious, and he needed to stay alive to protect his wife. He was already tied to Christopher and could no longer turn back.

As Owen prepared to leave, Justin suddenly leaned forward, pressing a silver lighter into his palm. "You don't have a lighter, right? If you don't mind, use this."

Owen's eyes flickered with an inexplicable emotion. He clenched the lighter, lowered his head, and quickly left the cafe.

Justin remained seated, gazing at the bustling night scene, the man now completely gone from view.

Just then, he received a message from Bella.

[Wife: Did you see him?] He smiled gently, his calloused fingers typing carefully on the screen.

[Justin: Yes, we talked.] [Wife: Did it go badly? You have a high IQ, but you can be emotionally clueless.] [Justin: Bella, if you couldn't sway him, what chance did I have?] Justin paused, his eyes darkened.

[Justin: But I never intended to persuade him to betray Christopher.] Bella was silent for a moment before bombarding him with five emoticons.

[Wife: You met up with him to get Christopher's attention, to make him suspicious of Owen and sow discord between them?] [Wife: You're so wise.] [Wife: You schemer!] Bella seemed to channel her fourth brother, making the man laugh helplessly, his eyes full of affection. (Justin: Given the circumstances, we need to take risks. Toppling Christopher will increase our chances of success.] At that moment, outside the cafe, a black car hidden in the shadows quietly retracted its camera from the window.

The Divorced Heiress Revenge Chapter 2060-At midnight, the VIP hospital ward corridor was deserted and eerily quiet.

After the nurse finished her rounds and checked on Austin, a man wearing a surgical mask and dressed as an orderly silently slipped into the room.

The room was silent, and Austin was already asleep.

The man quickly pulled out a prepared syringe and moved the needle toward the old man's frail arm.

"You... Who are you?" Austin suddenly awoke, his eyes wide open, staring intently at the man.

"I... I'm the new orderly, here to check on you," The man stammered, panicking as this was his first time doing something like this.

"Nonsense! My orderly was personally selected by my daughter. Where did you come from?" Alarm bells rang in Austin's mind. He reached across the bed to press the call button, but the man suddenly grabbed his throat tightly.

"Forgive me, Old Master Larson, but I have no choice!" The man's eyes were wild as he tightened his grip, causing Austin's face to turn purple. "I've served the Larson family for over a decade, and you've treated me well. The least I can do is let you die knowing the truth. Old Master Larson, remember this in your next life. Blood relations can still lead to betrayal, and those without blood ties are even less reliable!"

Hearing this, Austin was struck as if by lightning, his lips trembling uncontrollably.

"Don't blame me. Blame your good son. His heart is too cruel!"

Tears welled in the old man's eyes as they slowly closed.

Suddenly, the door burst open with a loud bang.

"Freeze! Hands up!"

Ralph's tall figure darted into the room. He held his gun steady and kept it trained directly at the man.

Startled, the man released his grip. Seeing no escape, he ran to the window and flung it open. He looked down and felt his head spin.

They were on the tenth floor!

Just then, Ralph delivered a swift, precise spinning kick that knocked the man to the ground.

Ralph moved quickly and pinned him down, twisting the man's arm behind his back to cuff him. "You're under arrest for attempted murder! You have the right to remain silent, but anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law."

Ralph yanked off the man's mask, revealing him as Alvin's trusted secretary.

"I... I'll confess... I'll confess everything!" The secretary, not being a professional killer and already under threat, broke down and cried out.

"Officer, if I turn into the state's witness, will I be able to get a lighter sentence? I wasn't the one who wanted to kill Old Master Larson! I was forced by Chairman Alvin Larson! He not only incited murder... He's also involved in Aaron Larson's illegal drug business. He provided the warehouse for storing the drugs. I have evidence! I can testify against him!"

Ralph's brows furrowed at this information, and he ordered his subordinates sternly, "Immediately locate and get an arrest warrant for Alvin Larson!"

Within an hour, the police managed to apprehend Alvin at the airport as he was preparing to flee to Meridan.
