The Divorced Heiress Revenge Chapter 2131-"What did you say… It's impossible!"

Yvonne's eyes widened in panic as she struggled violently in Taylor's grip, her fists raining punches on the man's chest. "Nonsense! You're lying to me!"

"Yvonne… Yvonne…"

Taylor stared at her in a daze, totally disregarding her struggles as he breathed heavily. "How could I lie to you? My feelings for you are genuine. I've never lied to you!"

"I'm wearing this face… I'm wearing Bella's face. How could Chairman Iverson let you marry me?" Yvonne shouted and screamed, losing her composure. "I don't want to marry you… No!"

"Then who are you going to marry if not me? Drew?!" Taylor suddenly roared at her, his eyes bloodshot. Instantly, Yvonne felt as if a knife had cut into her heart. Her body turned rigid inch by inch in his arms. Taylor pinched her chin harshly as if trying to crush her bones. "You're run through by Chairman Iverson, and your face looks just like his sister. Do you think Drew would want you? Would he?!

"He is the distinguished young master of the Thompson family, held in a high position. What kind of woman hasn't he seen? He doesn't need to spend a penny for women to be throwing themselves at him, trying to get into his pants, dreaming and hoping of becoming the Thompson family's young madam!" Taylor's words were like blades, stabbing into Yvonne's heart until it was bleeding. "His interest in you is fleeting. He thinks you're beautiful, tragic, and pitiful. It's nothing more than the sympathy of someone in power for someone below them! But… I really love you! If it weren't for me speaking for you in front of Chairman Iverson, secretly protecting you, you'd have been killed by him long ago, do you understand?!"

Drew's bright and clear eyes appeared in Yvonne's mind. She choked up but could not say anything. Streams of tears uncontrollably flowed down her face, staining her delicate cheeks, so pitiful it was hard to look at.

"Owen was suddenly arrested. The evidence the police got hold of was from you, right?" Taylor's gaze darkened, and he asked sternly, "The person who recorded Owen's crime was Oscar, am I right?"

Yvonne's body trembled, and her face turned pale.

"Because he kept secretly monitoring Owen and me, I caught him in the act, which led to his downfall. After he died, I sent someone to search his laptop, phone, hard drive, and room thoroughly, but we didn't find anything. Ha… I didn't expect that brat to be quite clever, hiding the evidence where I couldn't find it. I really underestimated him!"

Thinking about how his oversight had led to the current crisis, Taylor's eyes bulged with hatred, almost wanting to dig out Oscar's body and kill him again. "Tell me. How did he hand you the evidence? Tell me honestly!"

"Haha… Hahaha!" Yvonne suddenly burst into laughter, her eyes filled with tears as they turned red, chilling to the bone. "What's the point of asking me this now? Deputy Chief Hopkins is also a pitiful man, deceived by Christopher to work for him, sacrificing his bright future… Do you think he regrets it now? But evil is evil. Whether it's him or Christopher, they won't escape from karma. Kill me, torture me, I don't care!"

Yvonne exploded. The immense hatred she had endured for years was finally unleashed at this moment." Even when I'm dead, I'll be watching from above as all of you fall into ruin and lose everything!"

Facing her raw confession, Taylor felt a surge of complicated emotions, mixed with love and hate.

However, in the end, the desire to possess her won over him.

He viciously tried to kiss her, but she struggled with all her might, refusing to let him touch her.

"Yvonne, don't worry. This is a secret between us. I won't let you die. I will marry you, love you, and spoil you…"

The Divorced Heiress Revenge Chapter 2132-Taylor's face was full of affection, moving heaven and earth, but it could not shake Yvonne's ashen heart. "I won't ask about your past. Whether you've betrayed Chairman Iverson… Because it's you, I don't care!"

"You don't care? You're loyal to Christopher, yet you don't care?" Yvonne thought it was a ridiculous joke, laughing until her eyes were red.

"I said I don't care because it's you! Besides, even if Chairman Iverson wants your life, I can protect you!" Taylor blurted out in panic, "Marrying me and becoming one with me is the only way to guarantee your safety. I swear that Chairman Iverson wouldn't dare touch you!"

Yvonne's pupils dilated, and she keenly caught the underlying meaning in his words.

He did not say "would not"; he said Christopher "wouldn't dare".

Although Taylor was loyal to Christopher, self-preservation was an instinct shared by both animals and humans.

Moreover, serving an unstable, cruel, and cunning man like Christopher was like walking on eggshells. To survive, Taylor must have kept some crucial evidence with him.

She calmed down and returned to her senses.

Yvonne bit the soft flesh inside her lip and swallowed the bitterness and blood, her body softening in Taylor's arms.

She rested her sweat-covered forehead on the man's shoulder, as if resigned to her fate.

Instantly, Taylor's heart thumped wildly, and he excitedly tightened his hold on her warm, delicate body. "Yvonne, we'll return to Sentania… It's surrounded by mountains and has beautiful scenery. We'll get married there. I love you, and I promise to protect you well. The only person who can make you happy is me. Drew could never do that!"

Yvonne's heart wrenched in pain, feeling like it was being torn apart, piece by piece, bloody bits flying around.

A week later, the police formed a special task force to investigate Owen's case thoroughly.

Ralph led his team to find not only a huge amount of illegal drugs in Owen's home but also various types of firearms, weapons, and even photos and information of a few victims.

It showed that the member of Southern Star Syndicate was not the first person Owen murdered.

Ralph submitted the evidence and information, and the entire police force took the case very seriously. They ordered Ralph to take down Owen and uncover the truth, determined to give an explanation to the victims' families.

But no matter how Ralph and his team took turns interrogating Owen and used every method possible, they could not make Owen speak.

Although his murder was proven, Owen refused to speak about his motivation and whether someone was behind him, looking like he was determined to take the blame for everything.

The case made zero progress.

On this day, Bella and Justin came to the police station.

"This man's mental fortitude is too strong. We can't get through him at all!"

Ralph punched the wall angrily. "Fuck, even those brainwashed victims of pyramid schemes weren't as willful as he is! It's too difficult!"

"Ralph, don't worry,"

Bella held Ralph's strong arm, slightly pursing her lips, and said, "Can you request your superiors to allow me to go in and talk to Deputy Chief Hopkins?"

"Bella, do you have an idea?" Ralph lowered his gaze and stared at her.

Bella smiled wryly, "It's worth a try. We'll attempt anything possible."

The Divorced Heiress Revenge Chapter 2133-They could not get through to Owen, and the higher-ups have been putting pressure on the chief.

Therefore, when they heard that Bella wanted to try negotiating with Owen, although it was not in line with the procedure, and Bella was also not a negotiation expert, solving the case was more important than anything. So, the chief made an exception, letting her meet and talk to Owen.

Outside the one-way glass window of the interrogation room, Justin and Ralph looked at Bella, who was inside confronting the suspect. Both men had heavy and worried expressions.

In the interrogation room, Owen's gaze was dark and inscrutable as he emotionlessly stared at the beautiful woman before him.

"Ms. Bella, at this point, I've admitted everything I should. I think there's nothing left for us to talk about."

"Deputy Chief Hopkins,"

"Please change the way you address me. I'm only a suspect who kills without blinking." Owen smiled self- deprecatingly.

But even when reduced to a prisoner, he still sat upright, his demeanor unshaken. Decades of navigating the political scene and the air of authority built from holding a high position could not be stripped away in a day.

"Okay, then I'll call you Mr. Hopkins."

Bella's eyes were gentle, and she said politely. "I know you've come to this point today not because you're evil, but because you were forced to."

"You're wrong. Every step I've taken in my life was my own choice." Owen tugged at his lips, "Ms. Bella, I'm willing to meet you and sit here, listening to your pointless nonsense because you saved my wife. I've already confessed to my crimes. I won't say a word about anything else. Please leave."

Outside the window, Justin clenched his jaw, secretly curling his fists into a ball.

"Justin, don't be nervous. Bella must have a plan." Ralph noticed his nerves and patted his shoulders reassuringly.

Bella steadied herself and placed a report she prepared before Owen.

"What's this?" The man lowered his eyes.

"The analysis report of the drug you see as your last hope from a reputable institution." Bella looked at him nonchalantly.

Owen's pupils contracted, a crack appearing on his cold expression.

"The reason you're protecting the man behind you, even at the cost of committing crimes for him, was to save your wife, who has Alzheimer's. But you never considered that this new drug development was a ridiculous scam from the start."

Bella's voice was calm, but the light that shone beneath her eyes was as cold as blades, seemingly piercing through the man's trembling soul!

"What did you say? What scam?" Owen clenched his jaw.

"The report clearly stated that the so-called new drug is merely a type of neuroleptic." Bella's voice deepened. "It does not have any treatment effect toward Alzheimer's, and it causes other side effects, even carrying the risk of poisoning if overdosing. This was also why many people collapsed and convulsed, eventually dying after consuming the drug.

"If there's any difference between the new drug and neuroleptics, it's that it has a more complicated composition, and even it contains three types of strictly prohibited substances in our country due to their highly addictive potential. Rather than saying it's a medicine, it's more accurate to call it a narcotic."

The word "narcotic" made Owen's sight instantly go dark.

He was a police officer who once despised drugs, but never in a million years would he imagine that he would be involved with them.

It was undoubtedly turning his values, his goals, and his faith upside down.

"Impossible. You're lying!" Owen's cuffed hands clenched into fists tightly. "This analysis report is fake, right? It's a tool you're using to deceive and trick me!"

At this moment, Ralph furrowed his brows outside.

"He took the bait. He's indirectly admitting that his murders were related to the new drug's experiments." Justin nodded. "Owen is a cleaner. His worth is to clear all the obstacles for the mastermind behind the drug research, ensuring that the experiments could carry on secretly."

Ralph shook his head. "What a pity. He's a distinguished Deputy Chief with admirable achievements, but he chose to dance with the devil."

Justin stared at Bella's face, slightly parting his lips. "It's not his intention. He was desperate to save his wife."

Ralph sighed indignantly. "He's pitiful, but more despicable and hateful."

"I don't have to do that. Besides, you were deep in the middle of the conspiracy, handling many problems for the mastermind. You must have had your doubts. After all, the people who consumed the drug had such tragic fates, don't you think so?" Bella struck while the iron was hot.

Her words hit home for Owen. He slumped back dejectedly, eyes turning bloodshot.

In fact, Owen had long been suspicious. However, he did not dare to ask Christopher, holding on to a sliver of hope that the drug would save his wife.

In the chairman's office of Iverson Group, Christopher continued reviewing documents after taking his medication.

Putting aside his character, he was hardworking and diligent in his work. If Justin was the number one workaholic in Savrow, he could compete for second place.

At this moment, his phone vibrated on the table.

Behind the golden-rimmed glasses, Christopher glanced at the name on the screen, and his face instantly paled.

"Ms. Amaryllis." He lowered his voice.

"Chairman Iverson, your trusted aide is now under the police's control and has become a major threat." Clarice's voice carried a hint of mockery, coming from another continent. "The Boss is very concerned about your situation now."

"Please assure him that I will take care of the problems here." Christopher gripped the fountain pen tightly, his knuckles turning white.

"You're confident, but the Boss does not have much patience left." Clarice smiled. "The weather at Meridan is really not as good as back home or Savrow. It's not beneficial for the Boss's health. Besides, the Boss's homesickness has intensified over the past two years, and he's in a rush to return to Savrow."

She lowered her voice. "But look at all the trouble you caused. How can the Boss return peacefully? You've really let us down."

The Divorced Heiress Revenge Chapter 2134-Christopher felt as though he was being roasted alive, every inch of his body burning and aching faintly." Sorry, but please ask the Boss to be rest assured. I will definitely resolve all the troubles here at Savrow!" "You make it sound so easy." Clarice smiled coldly, "But since you became the Iverson Group's chairman, you haven't accomplished a single thing. Instead, Bella and Justin were stomping on you."

Christopher closed his reddened eyes, full of hatred and unwillingness. His gums were aching from clenching his teeth so hard.

"Chairman Iverson, don't blame me for not reminding you. You'd better get rid of the hidden threat properly. This is the last chance the Boss will give you."

The woman's voice was as cold as ice. "If you fail again, you know what fate awaits you."

Christopher had just opened his mouth, but the other end abruptly ended the call.

Facing the pitch-black screen, he only felt as if surrounded by a chill creep, falling into the endless abyss.

At this moment, someone knocked on the door.

After Christopher snapped back to his senses and responded, Taylor walked in with a bright smile, wearing a brand-new suit.

"Chairman Iverson, I've already proposed to Yvonne, and she agreed to marry me." Taylor could not conceal the joy in his eyes.

Christopher's pale face was emotionless. "Is that so? Congrats."

Taylor respectfully placed the wedding invitation before him. "I've already chosen the time and place of the wedding. I genuinely hope you can attend our wedding."

Christopher picked up the invite and looked at the date, saying coolly, "Taylor, I'm afraid I might not be able to attend your wedding."

Taylor's heart tightened, faintly sensing something. He asked with concern, "Chairman Iverson, did something happen? You can just tell me. I can postpone the wedding to help you get through this!"

"I understand your intentions. You've been with me for ten years. I might not trust others, but I trust you." Christopher's eyes revealed a rare hint of gentleness. "But in these turbulent times, before Owen's matter is resolved, I don't have the mood."

Taylor's face darkened. "Chairman Iverson, please give the orders."

"Have Attorney Lyles find some time to meet with Owen soon."

Christopher gradually got up and walked to the window, standing with his back facing the light, exuding a chilling aura. "As long as we take his wife as hostage firmly under our control, Owen will take everything about me into his grave."

Taylor nodded in agreement. After all, Owen was fiercely protective of his wife.

Although despicable, taking one's family hostage has always been a surefire strategy since ancient times. "Owen has a few lives on him, and the police have investigated him thoroughly. He's doomed." Taylor paused and lowered his voice. "But Chairman Iverson, after Owen is dead, how are you going to handle his wife? I remember you promising him that no matter what happens, you will keep his wife safe…"

"Ha, when have I ever kept my word?" Christopher sneered, his dark eyes full of malice. "Besides, he contacted Justin in private. He's not loyal to me at all. This restless man expects me to take care of his wife after he's gone? How delusional."

"You're right."

Christopher lowered his eyes and pulled out a delicate steel box from his pocket. He opened it. A filled syringe lay in the box.

Taylor squinted at it. "Chairman Iverson, this drug… Didn't the Boss give it to you?"

"I've said that this thing would come in handy at the crucial moment." Christopher's eyes flashed with a dim and ambiguous light.

Justin and Ralph immediately went up to Bella just after she stepped out of the interrogation room.

"Bella, what do you think?" Ralph asked eagerly.

But Justin stayed calm, his arms gently wrapping around her slightly stiff shoulders, silently accompanying her.

Bella pursed her lips. "Although Owen did not budge until the end, I could see that he's started to sway. But there's just no opportunity to push him over the edge."

Justin's gaze deepened. "Bella, what do we need to do now?"

After a short silence, Bella said, "Wait."

Ralph was confused. "Wait for what?"

"For a certain venomous snake to feel guilty and present the opportunity to us, trapping himself in his own web!" Bella had the confidence of a top-tier strategist.

"Would it work? Besides, Christopher is cunning and devious. He was always a step ahead of us. Could he be so foolish this time?" Ralph was still uneasy.

"But it's different this time."

Bella held Justin's large hands, sliding her fingers through his hands, interlocking their fingers. "This time, we will take the initiative. As long as we guarantee Owen's safety, not even the heavens can save him."

"Bella, I understand what you mean." Justin's gaze on the woman gradually grew intense. "We can predict everything in this world except for the human heart."

The Divorced Heiress Revenge Chapter 2135-The days passed by, seemingly peaceful, but there was a strong current underneath.

On the fourth day, a black vehicle stopped in front of the police station. Attorney Lyles stepped out, standing at the entrance with a gloomy face. He took a deep breath before walking inside.

In the visitor's room, a police officer stood guard at the door as Owen met with Attorney Lyles.

"Mr. Hopkins…"

Attorney Lyles had just started to speak when Owen interrupted him, his gaze dark as the endless abyss.

"Attorney Lyles, you don't need to say anything. I understand. I've told the police many times that I did everything by myself. It has nothing to do with anyone else. No matter what my sentence is, I won't appeal."

Attorney Lyles gritted his teeth, and while he was hesitating, Owen spoke again. "But, before the dust has settled, I want to meet Chairman Iverson one last time. I have some things I want to ask him in person." "Mr. Hopkins, Chairman Iverson's status is different now. He will never see you again." Attorney Lyles lowered his voice, his heart racing with fear at the mention of Christopher's name.

Owen's dry lips pursed into a straight line, his fists clenching tightly.

"Also, I came this time under Chairman Iverson's orders to pass a message to you." Attorney Lyles gradually leaned closer to him. "Chairman Iverson said that you might not have the chance to turn things around, given all the crimes you've committed. In that case, you should go peacefully. He will take care of your funeral and your wife…"

Before his words fell, Owen's heart twisted in fear.

"As long as you admit to the crimes and accept your sentence, Chairman Iverson will help take care of your wife. Otherwise, he can't guarantee whether any natural disaster or accident will befall her."

After saying that, Attorney Lyles got up and bowed deeply at Owen, then turned around and left the visitor's room.

Owen was left sitting there stiffly, his eyes reddening, the burning anger around him almost devouring him entirely, turning him into ashes.

Suddenly, there was a roaring sound in his ears, much like the sound of a building collapsing in an instant. It was also the sound of his faith crumbling.

Attorney Lyles walked out of the police station with a gloomy expression. His phone rang just as he was about to get into his car.

A message entered his sight. [Attorney Lyles, Mr. Salvador knows you're in a difficult situation and can't help yourself. Can we have a private talk with you?] The words were cold and emotionless, but it made this man, who was nearly fifty, tear up slightly.

Soon, that person sent him an address nearby the police station.

Attorney Lyles' heart thumped wildly, and he said to the driver without a change in his expression, "You can go back first. I've known Deputy Chief Hopkins for some time, and I can't bear seeing him end up like this. I feel quite upset and want to take a walk by myself."

The driver was arranged by Taylor to monitor Attorney Lyles' every move.

"Alright. Be careful." The driver cast an ambiguous glance at him, stepped on the gas pedal, and left.

Ten minutes later, Attorney Lyles arrived at the agreed location.

At the same time, a low-profile black van drove up steadily and stopped in front of him.

Ian got out of the car, and the door to the backseat slowly opened.

Attorney Lyles did not see Justin's face, but he saw his long, crossed legs, spotless gray pants, and black leather shoes, which showed off his status and intimidating presence.

"Attorney Lyles, Mr. Salvador has always wanted to meet you. Please get in the car." Ian smiled faintly and invited him politely.

Attorney Lyles' breath hitched, bile rising in his throat.

Since Lance passed away and he was forced to support Christopher, he had never received such courteous treatment.

The Divorced Heiress Revenge Chapter 2136-As soon as Attorney Lyles got into the car, Justin greeted him with a refined and elegant smile. He extended his hand to him first.

"Hello, Attorney Lyles."

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Salvador."

Attorney Lyles shook hands with the man. The powerful, steady aura that surrounded Justin immediately eased his tension.

"Mr. Salvador, if I may speak frankly, I'm the Iverson Group's attorney. Isn't it a little inappropriate to meet you in private like this?" Attorney Lyles stated directly, testing the waters.

"Although we're on opposite sides, and I have a deep, lifelong grudge against Christopher, I've always believed in dealing with grudges directly without involving the innocent or those caught in the middle." Justin's expression remained poised, his tone carrying a deeper meaning. "Besides, I've always felt that you and I are not enemies. Perhaps we're just friends standing on different sides."

"Friends…" Attorney Lyles' eyes warmed, almost unable to believe what he was hearing.

"And since you've risked your life to meet with me, I believe you already see me as an ally in your heart. Am I right?" Justin's voice was gentle, and his words were spot on.

Just as Justin finished his sentence, Attorney Lyles, a top attorney and a man in his fifties, broke down in tears in front of the younger Justin, his voice full of anguish.

"Mr. Salvador, I can't take it anymore. I don't want to stay by Christopher's side for another day… People aren't treated like humans before him. They're treated like animals, like mere creatures! Back then, when I served Chairman Lance Iverson, though he had flaws, he was considerate and took good care of my family. But after his death, Christopher has been secretly watching my wife and son all year. If I ever harbor any disloyalty, my family's lives will be at risk! He knows how loyal I was to Chairman Lance, and to control me, he only uses the safety of my loved ones as leverage. It's a tactic that's never failed him. He's despicable and wicked!"

Upon hearing Attorney Lyles' accusations, Justin furrowed his brows, while Ian, standing beside him, sighed in frustration.

"The Iverson Group is merely a cover for Christopher's dirty businesses. Behind the scenes, he's involved in smuggling and drug trafficking… There's no crime he hasn't committed. He's a lawless fiend! He even… He even forced me to alter Chairman Lance's will!"

Justin's eyes darkened. "What happened?"

"Chairman Lance knew his health was declining, so he had me act as a notary and make his will in my presence. He didn't leave Christopher a single penny, whether it was the management rights to the Iverson Group or the family's wealth."

Attorney Lyles continued angrily, "Christopher seized it all by force. He usurped what wasn't his!"

Justin's sharp eyes narrowed slightly. "Attorney Lyles, may I ask you a question?"

"Please, ask anything. I'll tell you everything I know!"

"Does Christopher have anything to do with Chairman Lance's death?"

Attorney Lyles' pupils contracted sharply. "Although I didn't witness it… He definitely has something to do with it! Although Chairman Lance had heart disease, as long as he took his medication in time, he wouldn't have died from a heart attack. Christopher was the only one with him at the scene that day. Chairman Lance always carried his heart medication with him. However, he didn't take it that day. Later, when I checked, I found that his medication was missing! Isn't it obvious? Christopher must have watched Chairman Lance suffer, refusing to save him!"

Ian said, "Well, that makes sense, but we have no evidence."

Attorney Lyles shook his head in helpless frustration.

"Christopher has committed countless crimes. It's unfortunate that Chairman Lance passed away. However, when it comes to convicting Christopher, his death won't make much of a difference."

Justin fixed a serious gaze on him. "Attorney Lyles, if I asked you to step forward and accuse Christopher of altering the will and illegally seizing property, would you do it?"

"I can. But I'm worried about my family…"

"Don't worry. My wife and I will do everything in our power to ensure you and your family's safety. I can use my private jet to send your wife and son abroad, and Christopher won't be able to trace any of their travel records. If he wants to find them, he can search the whole world. Once the situation in the country stabilizes, I'll bring them back to you. How does that sound?" Justin's words were earnest and sincere.

Attorney Lyles wiped away his tears, nodding with overwhelming gratitude.

"Alright… I'll cooperate fully with you to eradicate this sinner that is Christopher!"

After the plan discussion in the car, Attorney Lyles got out and left.

"Ian, bring some men and follow him discreetly. I'm worried about his safety." Deeply influenced by his wife, Justin had become increasingly cautious, always thinking one step ahead.

"Yes, sir!" Ian immediately got out of the car.

The black van headed toward Salvador Corporation.

Halfway there, Justin received a call from Bella. Her voice sounded clearly shaken, her tone trembling. "Justin, come to the police station now. Owen Hopkins wants to see us!"

The Divorced Heiress Revenge Chapter 2137-As soon as Justin received the news, excitement surged through him. He rushed straight to the police station.

Bella and Ralph were already waiting for him outside the interrogation room.

"Bella, I'm sorry I'm late," Justin said, catching his breath and immediately apologizing.

His gentlemanly manners were on full display.

"It's fine. I was just worried you might have had an accident hurrying over." Bella quickly stepped forward and used her sleeve to wipe the sweat from his forehead.

Justin held her delicate wrist tightly, his gaze locking onto hers.

"Bella, I just met up with someone. I have some good news to share with you!"

Bella's beautiful eyes lit up. "What's the good news?"

"Well, business first." Justin looked at Bella with a loving smile, gently brushing her nose with his fingertip.

"Owen Hopkins will be here soon. I'll personally interrogate him," Ralph said. His face lit up at the thought of finally making a breakthrough after all this time.

"Ralph, remember to be mindful of your tone." Bella reminded Ralph thoughtfully, "Hopkins used to hold a high position and was your superior. Even though he's now a criminal, people like him are often arrogant and unyielding at their core. So, you should treat him with respect. Be polite and guide him carefully. Don't be too forceful or put too much pressure on him."

"Come on! Do you think I don't know that? I haven't been working as a detective all these years for nothing," Ralph patted his younger sister's shoulder reassuringly. "Don't worry. I got this."

With that, he opened the door and stepped into the room.

As the door closed, Justin and Bella exchanged a knowing look, though Justin's eyes held a hint of confusion.

"What exactly happened? What made Hopkins suddenly decide to talk?"

Bella continued to play with her husband's calloused, slender fingers like they were her favorite toy. "The Iverson Group's head of legal department, Attorney Lyles met with Owen Hopkins today."

Justin curled his fingers playfully, teasing her and indulging her habit.

"I know."

"Huh?"

Suddenly, Bella's eyes lit up with realization. She quickly pieced everything together. "So, you met with Attorney Lyles in private? The good news you were going to tell me… Could it be that you convinced him to join our side?"

Justin's handsome brows furrowed slightly as he chuckled and shook his head. "Bella, must you be so sharp? It's like you can read my mind. I always feel like I'm naked around you."

"Hehe… Whether you're dressed or not doesn't make much difference to me." Bella's playful gaze showed a hint of allure. Her delicate fingers traced circles over his firm abdomen through his crisp white shirt. "I know where all your moles are, which spots are most sensitive, and exactly how many abs you have…"

In the middle of the police station, the young lady had the nerve to flirt openly. Not only that, her face remained calm.

"Bella, this is a police station," Justin murmured in his deep voice, his hand sliding around her slim waist, a place he could never resist.

"So what? We're an old married couple… Why are you pretending to be good?" Bella pouted in mock disappointment.

"Good?"

The Divorced Heiress Revenge Chapter 2138-The man could not help but chuckle softly. Justin moved his lips close to Bella's ear as he lightly nibbled on her cherry-red earlobe. "I just hate that I can't be with you the way I want to right now."

Bella lifted her head and locked her eyes with him. Her face flushed a deep crimson, making her look even more irresistible and charming.

Aside from the whirring camera recording everything, it was just Ralph and Owen in the interrogation room.

"You may begin," Ralph said gently, gesturing for Owen to speak.

"Ralph, I must have disappointed you, right?" Handcuffed, Owen leaned back in exhaustion, his eyes filled with sorrow as he looked at Ralph.

"Do you want to hear the truth? Yes, you have," Ralph replied with blunt honesty.

Owen closed his eyes briefly. A faint and resigned smile appeared on his face. "I like your answer. I admire your honesty."

"I remember when I got awarded those first-class and second-class merit badges, it was your hands that pinned them on me. I can still hear you telling me to continue upholding justice, to fight against evil, and to be a good officer who serves the people."

Ralph took a deep breath. His gaze was intense with a storm of emotions. "When I first joined the force, your achievements were legendary. You were a role model for the entire force. So, how do you think I felt when I learned about everything you've done? Watching my steadfast beliefs crumble, I saw my idol collude with a devil. Do you really think that when I arrested you, all I felt was the satisfaction of bringing a criminal to justice?"

Owen's broad shoulders shook violently, and his once-proud posture crumbled inch by inch.

He buried his face in his hands. For a long time, the cold room echoed with his anguished sobs. Tears of regret streamed through his fingers, dripping steadily onto the table.

Ralph felt his chest tighten with an overwhelming mix of emotions, leaving him momentarily at a loss for words.

"Actually… Your investigation has always been on the right track." After a while, Owen wiped away his tears. He continued speaking in his broken and hoarse voice, "The person behind me is none other than the Iverson Group's incumbent chairman, Christopher Iverson."

Ralph's heart pounded fiercely in his chest. He held his breath, waiting for Owen to continue.

"You all know that my wife is a severe Alzheimer's patient. But now she's reached the final, critical stage." Owen closed his eyes as he sank into bitter memories.

"Three years ago, her condition began to worsen. I searched the world for treatments, used every connection, and spent all my savings. However, her condition never improved. Just when I was on the brink of despair, Christopher approached me. He told me that his boss owned a biological research institute that was developing a drug specifically for my wife's symptoms. With Meridan's advanced medical technology, what would take ten or even twenty years of research here could be done in just five years there!"

Ralph quickly asked, "What was the name of the research institute?"

"I think it was… RC."

"Who is the person behind Christopher?"

Owen shook his head weakly. "I don't know… Christopher is extremely secretive about this person. But I can tell he's utterly devoted to that person. It's almost as if he worships them. I'd go so far as to say… If the person asked Christopher to sacrifice his life for him, he wouldn't hesitate for a second. Now that I think about it… It's as if that person brainwashed Christopher. But who am I to judge? I got manipulated by Christopher myself."

Ralph's gaze darkened. "Go on."

"Christopher then brought the drug back to the country. To accelerate the collection of experimental data, he disguised it as a soft drug and spread it through the black market. That was when I became his cleaner, eliminating any obstacles that stood in the way of the drug trials. I served him willingly, believing that this drug would eventually save my wife's life. But now… it seems everything was wrong from the beginning."

"Christopher didn't approach you three years ago to form a mutual alliance. He lured you into a sinister trap. You weren't a fortunate man but rather a highly skilled tool he handpicked from the masses." Ralph stated bluntly, exposing Christopher's deceitful act.

"Your desperation for the new drug gave him the perfect leverage to control, manipulate, and use you as he pleased. Once he achieved his goal, he would cast you aside or even destroy you without mercy. Those assassins who attacked you the other night were undeniable proof of his intentions."

The Divorced Heiress Revenge Chapter 2139-Owen let out a bitter laugh. He then shook his head repeatedly.

He did not deny Ralph's words. Instead, he regretted the three years he had spent serving Christopher without question. He felt a deep sense of remorse, realizing just how unworthy it all had been.

At that moment, overwhelming regret consumed him.

It was not for the mistakes that had cost him the honors he had worked a lifetime to gain. He was devastated that a man who once lived with integrity and honor had become a mere pawn of the devil in his later years.

"Do you have anything else to confess besides what we found in your home?" Ralph asked directly.

"Yes."

Owen lowered his gaze. "I was also involved in Aaron Larson's case. Christopher directed me from behind."

Ralph's eyes widened in shock. "You killed Aaron Larson? Didn't he die from a suicide?"

"It was a suicide. But Christopher drove him to it. He even forged a suicide note and sent a lawyer to deliver it to Aaron, who carried it with him after that. After Aaron's death, I abused my power to ensure the police quickly closed the case as a suicide."

Ralph shook his head, still perplexed.

"Aaron Larson was the heir to the Larson family's businesses. How could he have been so easily manipulated by you all?"

"Because Christopher had a deadly piece of leverage over him."

Owen's eyelids twitched as he explained, "Aaron was a key partner for Christopher in Savrow. Christopher deceived Aaron into believing he was trafficking a new, highly profitable soft drug. Christopher initially presented this as an opportunity to lure Aaron into the trap. However, Aaron didn't realize he was merely assisting Christopher in conducting live human experiments for the drug. Christopher never intended to profit from it. He only wanted to achieve his goals. The conditions he offered were so tempting that Aaron took the risk and partnered with him."

Since the Larsons were related to Mila, who had now taken full control of the Larson family's business, Ralph was naturally more concerned about this matter.

"The Larson family is prestigious in Hatchbay, with billions in assets. Why would they turn to drug trafficking and associate with someone like Christopher?!"

"Alvin Larson and his son had recklessly expanded their business over the years. However, their investment in drug research yielded no results, leading their top investors to pull out. This created a cash flow crisis, which is how Aaron fell into Christopher's trap."

Ralph understood immediately. "So, what does Christopher have on Aaron?"

"The new drug experiments led to a series of deaths in Savrow. Aaron tried to back out and threatened that if anything happened to him, he would drag Christopher down with him. But again, you and I know exactly what kind of person Christopher is. He rewards loyalty and crushes opposition. Even a momentary slip of the tongue is enough for him to decide that he had to eliminate Aaron."

Owen's expression darkened, his eyes hollow and devoid of life. "So, one night, Christopher invited Aaron to a resort hotel in the suburbs under the pretext of a gathering. The night was one of debauchery. There was wine, women, and indulgence. Lost in the chaos, Aaron ended up in a room with a girl. In the early morning, that girl died in bed. The cause of death? An overdose of hallucinogens, injected on Christopher's orders. But while Aaron was too drunk to realize it, Christopher framed him for the murder. Then he commanded me to dispose of the body before dawn."

Ralph's eyes widened with rage, his pupils dilating in shock. "What did you do with her body?"

"I dumped it at a construction site in the Eastern District. There was a half-poured concrete foundation. I threw her into it."

As he finished his sentence, Owen lowered his head.

Regret, guilt, and anguish made Owen's tears fall rapidly. Each drop hit the floor with a faint sound that echoed through the cold interrogation room. The small sound amplified, swelling into a deafening roar. It was as if an overwhelming wave was about to consume, drown, and obliterate him entirely.

Ralph's throat tightened as he looked at the man before him, his emotions tangled in a mess.

No matter what, Ralph could never forgive Owen, and the law certainly would not.

"So, Christopher also orchestrated Aaron's arrest? That way, when he forced Aaron to his death, he could also walk away unscathed, right?"

How insidious and ruthless! Even the deepest pits of hell would be too lenient for him.

"I know I've committed unforgivable sins. I deserve the harshest punishment. I will accept whatever judgment is passed on me. I won't argue or appeal."

Owen could not bring himself to meet Ralph's gaze, his voice choked and hoarse. "I… I only have one request. I hope you can protect and care for my wife… She knows nothing about any of this and has even lost the ability to take care of herself. I beg you… Please keep her safe from Christopher's clutches!"

The Divorced Heiress Revenge Chapter 2140-"Whatever you're thinking, Mr. Salvador and Ms. Thompson thought of it long ago. They've had people stationed around the hospital for quite some time now. Even the nurse looking after your wife is one of theirs. They've kept everything under wraps for reasons you surely understand," Ralph said, his eyes flashing with sharp intent.

"Thank you… Thank you, Ms. Thompson. Thank you, Mr. Salvador." Shaken to his core, tears streamed down Owen's face.

That afternoon, after the interrogation, Ralph led the criminal investigation team and search unit straight to the construction site in the Eastern District.

With the help of the police dogs, they quickly uncovered the decayed remains of the girl buried in the cement foundation.

They promptly sent the body back to the police station for an autopsy. Ralph then dispatched another team to the resort where the crime happened, hoping to find additional evidence.

Even if the chances were slim, he was not about to miss any opportunity to bring Christopher to justice.

Later that evening, Ralph visited Bella and Justin to inform them of Owen's confession and the case's developments that day.

The study fell into a prolonged, heavy silence.

Although Owen was indeed both pitiful and detestable, Christopher was the true evil mastermind manipulating everything.

"Given Christopher's character, he wouldn't simply use Aaron for drug trafficking. His aim definitely isn't just about making money."

Bella sat beside Justin on the couch. Despite not having much appetite, she graciously ate a piece of sweet pear that Justin had offered her. "I believe he's trying to destroy the Larson Group completely!"

At the thought of his mother, who was now the chairman of the Larson Group, Ralph felt a shiver down his spine.

"But don't worry, Ralph. With Aunt Mila having KS Groups's support and my assistance behind the scenes, the Larson Group won't fall," Bella softly reassured him.

"Thanks, Bella."

Still, Ralph remained confused. "But the Larson Group's base is in Hatchbay, not Savrow. They're a leading company in the pharmaceutical industry, with no overlap in business with the Iverson Group. Why would Christopher go after the Larson Group?"

Bella and Justin exchanged a knowing glance and replied in unison, "Because the Larson Group is a leading pharmaceutical company. That's exactly why he's targeting them!"

Ralph raised an eyebrow in surprise.

He felt like he was once again inadvertently interrupting the couple.

"It seems that the one targeting the Larson Group isn't just Christopher himself but also the mysterious boss behind him."

Bella picked up another piece of pear and brought it to Justin's lips. "The Larson Group is a leader in the national pharmaceutical industry, Christopher just so happens to be helping his boss with new drug experiments. So, I suspect that this boss wants to enter the domestic pharmaceutical market. To dominate the market, he needs to eliminate his competitors."

"Bella, you're brilliant," Justin praised, holding her small hand while looking at her intently as he took the pear into his mouth.

No matter what he was eating, nothing seemed to stop him from praising his wife.

Ralph continued, "Owen mentioned that the research lab for the new drug is in Meridan, called… RC."

"It looks like we need to find a way to investigate this RC thoroughly," Bella said, her beautiful eyes deep with contemplation.

Just then, her phone rang. It was Steven calling.

"Hey, Steve."

"Ms. Bella, something's going on at the hospital!" Steven's voice sounded tense and urgent. "You were right. Christopher is indeed targeting Owen's wife!"
