“Iris, I’m just worried that he might be an amateur and might cause your grandfather’s condition to worsen, “Gilbert smiled sheepishly and slumped.
“So what? Grandpa is pretty much like a dead person now and even the Holy Doctor was at his wits end! It doesn’t matter if Leon can cure Grandpa so long as he tries his best! If something does happen to Grandpa, it’s just how things are meant to be. You can’t possibly blame Leon for that!” tris deadpanned coldly.
“But,” Rendered speechless, Gilbert wanted to argue, but could not say a word.
“Uncle Gilbert, can you move out of the way now?” Leon asked.
Gilbert looked down on Leon since the first time they met as though they were enemies from their past lives. Even after Gilbert lost everything, his contempt for Leon did not cease and Leon could not understand what gave Gilbert the idea that he had any rights to look down on anyone.
Since Gilbert was prejudiced against Leon, Leon ran out of patience with Gilbert as well.
If only Gilbert was not his future father–in–law, he would have killed Gilbert right away instead of letting Gilbert step all over him.
“Leon, you better wake Dad up, or else,” Gilbert snorted, before moving out of the way reluctantly.
Leon ignored him and went to sit down next to the bed.
He supported Albert’s limp body and pressed onto a few compression points near his throat, before feeding the medicine into his mouth.
Once Albert took all the medicine, Leon started pressing his fingers against a few compression points around
Albert’s head at the Six Points of Fate.
His spiritual energy flowed into Albert’s body through his finger, directing the medicine he just took to repair Albert’s nerves.
A wild Panax contained the function to repair and nourish nerves and the longer it grew, the more effective it would be. Soon, Albert’s nervous system slowly began to recover.
After some time, Leon paled as he sensed that he ean out of energy.
One fifth of Albert’s nervous system was repaired under his relentless effort.
However, Leon knew that Albert’s injury was far too severe and they waited too long to treat him, so it would be impossible for Albert to regain consciousness immediately.
He treated Albert with both medication and his spiritual energy to revitalize Albert’s nerves. If he continued. the treatment for the days that followed, he would eventually succeed in repairing all the damages and Albert should recover then.
When Iris saw that Leon was withdrawing his hands, she asked, “Leon, how is Grandpa? When will he wake up?”
“Don’t rush, Iris. His injuries are too severe for me to repair immediately. I will come to treat him every day. at the same time and I think that he will wake up within four to five days,” Leon explained.

“Leon, so you have been bragging when you said that you can cure my father!” Gilbert mocked when he knew that Leon could not wake Albert right away.
“Dad, treating someone isn’t that easy! Besides, Grandpa is in a critical state right now. Isn’t it normal that it will take Leon a few days?” Iris retorted.
“Who knows? Your injuries from the time before were much worse, but he revived you right away, didn’t he? If he can’t even wake Dad up now, how can he be capable of curing him? I think he just had the wrong diagnosis!” Gilbert said.
He never believed for a moment that his father was attacked and was doubtful after hearing Leon’s diagnosis, but was only forced into compromising since Iris supported Leon and reality showed that Leon could not revive Albert.
Leon was extremely displeased for being doubted time and time again, but explained patiently regardless,” Uncle Gilbert, Iris was treated in time, so my treatment worked right away. It’s different for Elder Young and his condition needs to be treated over the course of a few days.”
“That’s enough! I don’t want to hear any of your nonsense! I’ll trust you for now out of respect for Iris. If my father doesn’t wake up in a few days‘ time, you’ll pay for it!” Gilbert scoffed, before storming out.
“Leon, my dad’s being rude. I’m so sorry about that. Please don’t take it personally,” Iris said apologetically.
“It’s fine. He’s your father, after all. Don’t worry. I don’t mind,” Leon smiled bitterly.
In the following days, Leon would come to treat Albert every day and Albert’s nerves continued to recover with the help of the medicine and Leon’s spiritual energy.
On the fifth day, Gilbert, Iris and the others gathered in Albert’s room.
“Leon, didn’t you say that it will only take four to five days? It’s the fifth day now, so why isn’t he awake?” Gilbert questioned sharply.
“Don’t worry, Uncle Gilbert. Once I’m done with today’s treatment, he will regain consciousness,” Leon said.

“Alright.” Not wanting to waste his time on Gilbert, Leon walked over to sit next to the bed and proceeded with the treatment.
Like the days before, he first fed Albert with the medicine, before sending his spiritual energy into Albert’s body through the compression points.
In a while, Albert’s nervous system was finally fixed after the past few days‘ work.
“It’s done!” Leon beamed and withdrew his hands.
“Leon, how’s Grandpa?” Iris hurried over and asked worriedly.

“He’s fine! He should wake up anytime now!” Leon smiled.
“Wake up? Just look at him!” Gilbert roared as he looked at Albert’s limp body. “You scammer, Leon! I already told you that you had the wrong diagnosis, but you insist on doing things your way.”
Gilbert grew increasingly irritated and the anger he suppressed exploded.
“Calm down, Dad! Leon said that Grandpa will wake up soon. Just wait!” Iris said, her voice growing weaker as she spoke.
She trusted Leon at first, but Albert did not seem to recover throughout the days and she started to doubt if her father was right about Leon having the wrong diagnosis.
“Wait? I’ve been waiting for five days! Move out of the way, Iris. I have to teach this kid a lesson today!” Gilbert shouted as he gathered his true energy in his palm.
“Uncle Gilbert, I’ve been respectful and tolerated you because you’re a senior, but I’m not scared of you. Please don’t try me!” Enraged, Leon’s expression darkened.
“You dare to threaten me, you brat?! I’m going to make you regret saying that!” Provoked, Gilbert pushed Iris out of the way and charged at Leon.
“Ugh!” Just then, they heard someone cough and turned to find Albert opening his eyes.
“He’s awake!” Gilbert gasped.
Iris and the others were stunned as well.
Instantly, silence fell over the room and everyone froze.
“Grandpa! You’re really awake!” Iris was the first to sober up and hurried over to help Albert up.
“H- How’s this possible?!” Gilbert felt shaken. He was sure that Leon had the wrong diagnosis and would never manage to revive Albert, yet Leon somehow succeeded.
This proved Leon right and Gilbert realized that he was wrong.
Most importantly, Iris wanted to reach out to Leon for help when Albert fell ill, but Gilbert stopped her from doing so. If he did not stop her, Leon would be able to cure Albert right away and with Albert there to back him up, neither Gilbert nor Iris would be forced out of their own family by Daisy.
It would not be an overstatement to say that it was all his fault and his own foolishness cost him and Iris everything, but it was all too late.
Albert slowly started to come to and recalled being attacked by Daisy and Harold.
“Iris, am I alive?” Shocked, Albert stared at Iris and glanced at the others in disbelief.

He thought that Harold would kill him and did not expect to survive.
“Yeah! You’re fine, Grandpa! Leon saved you,” Iris said excitedly.
“Leon?” Albert paused and was instantly filled with joy when he saw Leon standing on the side.
Right before he lost consciousness, the only thought in his mind was that Leon was the only one who could save the Youngs and seeing how Leon was inside his room, Albert assumed that the Youngs were saved from the hands of Harold with Leon’s help.
“That’s great! Even the gods are on our side!” Albert burst into laughter.
“Dad, what’s wrong with you?” Gilbert hurried over in confusion.
“Gilbert, you did well! You noticed that Daisy plotted with Harold Lowe and teamed with Leon to fight them off, didn’t you?” Albert turned to Gilbert and studied him with appreciation.
He just regained consciousness and did not know what happened, but he was certain that Gilbert would be in charge after he fell ill. If Gilbert managed to get Leon’s support in fighting Harold, it would be the best idea he ever had.
Leon was backed by the Shears and the Southern King, and had conflicts with Harold in the past. If Gilbert and Leon joined forces, they would be able to protect the Youngs from Harold and Daisy.
Albert could not help but praise Gilbert for acting so quickly.
“Dad, what are you talking about? I don’t understand a word you said,” Gilbert said.
“What? Have you not found out about their plots? Why is Leon in the Young Mansion right now, then??”
Albert was stunned.
Leon and the Youngs parted ways before he lost consciousness and he could not understand why Leon would be at their home if Gilbert did not reach out to Leon to resolve their past differences.
“Grandpa, we aren’t in the Young Mansion. This is my house. Dad and I have been denounced by the family, “Iris said bitterly.
“Denounced? H- How did that happen?” Albert shook and felt as though he was struck by lightning. “Iris, tell me what happened right now!”
Albert sobered right away and the joy he felt earlier instantly vanished.
“Daisy plotted to take over the power and forced us to leave,” Iris sighed and proceeded to explain everything.
“What?!” Furious, Albert was at the brink of a mental breakdown after hearing what happened.
He thought that Gilbert was smart enough to spot Daisy’s scheme and teamed with Leon to protect the Youngs; to his bewilderment, the exact opposite happened. Gilbert handed the power over to Daisy willingly, allowing Daisy and Harold to take control of the Youngs with ease.

Furious, he slapped Gilbert across the face with all his might. “Gilbert, you moron! Look at what you’ve done!
“Snap!”
A sharp pain, followed by numbness, spread across Gilbert’s cheek. If Albert did not lose all his power from the damage to his Energy Sea Point, he would have suffered severe injuries from the slap.
“Dad, why would you hit me?” He muttered in confusion.
“Why shouldn’t I hit you?! You have ruined what the Youngs have built for the past hundreds of years!” Albert shivered with anger as he slapped Gilbert once again.
He knew all along that Gilbert was a mediocre member of the family who was hardly comparable to the other heirs of the other Major Families, but was devastated when he realized that Gilbert was far more foolish than he anticipated.
Leon sensed that Harold plotted something early on and took over Elegante Group, before wreaking havoc in the Young Mansion in hope to save the Youngs. Not only did Gilbert not join forces with Leon, he actively hindered Leon every step of the way, resulting in the Youngs falling within the hands of Daisy and Harold.
It was hardly an overstatement to say that Gilbert somehow managed to turn the gold he was given into dust.
If Gilbert was not his son, Albert would have strangled him to death.
“Dad, I know that I was wrong, but I never thought that Daisy would betray me. She is the vicious one and you can’t blame me for that. Besides, Royce is the leader now and Daisy will soon pass everything down to him. He’s my son, so how will this destroy our family? You’re worried over nothing!” Gilbert was slightly upset that he was slapped twice in a row and was confused as to why Albert was so angry at him.
“Royce?! You dare mention him to me?!” Albert roared as he exploded with anger and shouted at Gilbert with blood–shot eyes, “you moron! Kneel!”
“Kneel? Dad, wh- what’s the meaning of this? Am I wrong?” Gilbert gaped.
“You useless scum! Are you trying to give me a heart attack?!” Albert’s blood boiled and flushed, before spitting a mouthful of blood.
“Grandpa, what’s wrong?” Iris paled at the sight and hurried over to help Albert.
“Dad, are you okay?” Shocked, Gilbert wanted to move closer to check on Albert, but was slapped across the face again.
“I told you to kneel! Have you gone deaf?!” Albert roared.
“Dad, 1-” Gilbert covered his swollen cheek dazedly.
“Kneel!” Albert glared daggers at him.
“Don’t get mad, Dad. I’ll kneel.”

Though reluctant, Albert was still his father and he could not disobey Albert, so he fell onto his knees.
“You sure look upset with me!” Albert could sense Gilbert’s reluctance.
“I wouldn’t dare to be. I just think that since Royce is my son, it doesn’t really matter who becomes the leader. You didn’t have to be so angry,” Gilbert muttered.
“I didn’t have to be angry?! You idiot! Royce isn’t your son! He’s the bast*rd son of Daisy and Harold Lowe!” Albert roared, exposing the secret that Daisy and Harold hid for years.
Everyone inside the room froze in shock.
“What? That’s not possible!” Gilbert could not believe what he just heard.
Even the others, including Iris and Leon, were shocked as none of them thought that Royce was Harold’s son.
“Not possible? Daisy was the one who told me about this, so it has to be true!” Albert spat resentfully.
“But,” Gilbert fell into a dazed state as he realized that the son he raised for over twenty years was actually someone else’s son.
“You idiot! You didn’t even know you were cheated on for over twenty years! Is your brain even working at all? You’ve brought shame to us all!” Albert glared daggers at Gilbert.
The fact that the direct descendent of a powerful family like the Youngs was an illegitimate child would bring shame to the family name and if others found out about it, the Youngs would become the laughingstock of the entire city.
Most importantly, Harold and Daisy took control of the Youngs easily because of Gilbert’s stupidity and incompetence, costing the Youngs what they worked hard to build in over a hundred years.
“How can this happen?” Gilbert widened his eyes.
Over the years, he neglected Iris and failed as a father as he focused on Daisy and Royce. In the end, his all to someone else’s child while pushing his daughter away, before forcing her out of her own family and losing everything in the process.

“Who knew that Royce is Harold’s son? What a shame! If I knew about this, I shouldn’t have let him go when I snuck into the Young Mansion!” Leon muttered.
Harold attacked him and attempted to kill him multiple times and if he knew that Royce was Harold’s son, would have threatened Harold to make him pay while using Royce as his hostage.

It was a shame that he only found out about it afterward.
“You!” Gilbert’s expression darkened.
He came close to fighting Leon when he first found out that Leon held Royce hostage, and finally realized how foolish he was at this moment.
Though Leon did not mean to mock Gilbert, his words still pierced through Gilbert like sharp blades.
“Oh, my. Such a mess!” Ruth tutted and said.
She watched as Leon treated Albert for the past few days out of curiosity, and thought that there was nothing to see when Albert did not wake up.
In the end, not only did Leon revive Albert, she managed to watch such a dramatic scene unfold.
Though she sympathized with what Gilbert was going through, she felt that he deserved it all when she recalled how he bullied Leon and came close to fighting Leon.
Provoked by what Leon and Ruth said, Gilbert could no longer control the sorrow that took over him and spat a mouthful of blood.
“Dad! What’s wrong? Are you going?” Startled, Iris hurried over to grab Gilbert.
“Iris, I’ve failed you and the Youngs. I’ve cost you everything and I’ve ruined what our family was built for,” Gilbert cried out guiltily, knowing that it was far too late for him to make amends for his mistakes.
“Don’t beat yourself up, Dad. I know that you didn’t mean to. I don’t blame you,” Iris said.
“Even if you don’t blame me, I can’t forgive myself! If only I listened to you, we wouldn’t have fallen this far! It’s all my fault!” Tears scrolled down Gilbert’s face and he instantly looked as though he aged over a matter of minutes.
“Dad, everyone makes mistakes! This is nothing. You don’t have to be so upset about it! Leon has managed to revive Leon now. With Grandpa on our side, there’s still a big chance that we can go home and take back everything that belongs to us!”
Determination filled Iris’s eyes as she looked at the devastated expression on Gilbert’s face.
She lost whatever love she had for her family ever since she was forced to sell Elegante Group and was denounced from the family. Though Gilbert wanted to return to the family, she never felt the same, especially after she got back with Leon.
All she wanted was to stay by Leon’s side and planned to stay away from the Youngs for the rest of her life. However, the situation changed when she knew that Royce was not her half–brother, but the son of Daisy and Harold.
As a direct descendent of the Youngs, she could not watch as others took over her family. On top of that, after what Daisy did to her father, she could not stand idly by.
Her stance took a drastic turn at that very moment and she was determined to help Gilbert back to the Youngs and take back all that belonged to him when the chance presented itself.

At the very least, they could not trust the Youngs with Daisy and Harold.
“You’re right, Iris! With your grandpa’s help, we can definitely return!” Encouraged, Gilbert’s spirit was uplifted and the despair in his expression faded.
He walked over and kneeled by the bed. “Dad, I’ve been so wrong, but it’s something that’s already happened. Right now, the top priority is for us to take the control back from Daisy and Harold! Once you recover, you should be able to get rid of them with your power in the Intermediate Overlord State and your credibility within the family!” Gilbert said excitedly as he placed all hope on his father.
“That’s easy for you to say! Harold destroyed my power, so what exactly do I have left to fight him with?” Albert questioned sharply.
“What?! Is it true that you lost your power? T- That’s impossible!” Gilbert’s jaw dropped.
Leon already told him that Albert suffered damages in his Energy Sea Point, but Gilbert refused to believe him. After all, Albert reached the Intermediate Overlord State with no one who could rival him in Springfield City. On top of that, the Young Mansion was heavily guarded, so he could not imagine anyone who could be capable enough to destroy Albert’s power.
“Why isn’t it possible? Your wife drugged my tea and let Harold in to attack me from behind! I’ve been caught off–guard,” Albert gritted out, his heart filled with resentment toward Daisy and Harold. ・
“What?” Gilbert gaped and his heart sank as he realized that Leon was right all along. Albert indeed lost all his power and he was too arrogant for doubting Leon.
“It’s over. It’s all over,” He paled and fell onto the ground.
Gilbert wished that Albert could defeat Daisy and Harold by force, so that they could return to their family, but his final hope was completely shattered.
“Over? I don’t know about that! Daisy has just taken control of the Youngs and she might not have everyone on her side just yet! I’ll go to the Young Mansion tomorrow and expose Daisy and Harold to their plots! Once the Youngs and Melvin side with us, we’ll be able to chase those two out!” Albert said and narrowed his eyes slyly.
He was already told that Harold reached the Overlord State, so it would be challenging to defeat him; however, with Melvin’s help, they would be able to win.
Once Albert took back the control of the Youngs, there would be plenty of chances to seek revenge for what Daisy and Harold did.
“Yeah! Uncle Melvin and the other elders are a part of the family and if they find out about what those two have been plotting for, they’ll definitely side with us!” Gilbert’s eyes lit up with hope.

Elder Young, forgive me for saying this, but the Youngs you once knew are gone. Even if you head over tomorrow, Melvin and the others might not side with you!” Leon said hesitantly.
“Impossible! Melvin and the others are all Youngs. Are they supposed to support Daisy and Harold instead of me?” Albert shook his head as he shot Leon’s advice down.
“I’ll be frank, Elder Young. If you still have your power, they might back you up, but now that you’re powerless, they won’t side with you even if they don’t intend on submitting to Harold Lowe!” Leon said.
He dealt with the Youngs on multiple occasions and knew better than anyone that the Youngs valued their own gains and nothing else.
Since Albert was rendered powerless, he no longer held any value to the Youngs and they could not support him as the leader.
“So what if I’ve lost my power? Melvin’s my younger brother and he would back me up because we’re connected by blood!” Albert retorted.
Though Leon saved his life, he was still displeased that Leon tried to divide him and his family.
“Connected by blood, huh?” Leon shook his head with a smile.
“What are you smiling at?” Albert asked in confusion.
“Elder Young, you don’t know this, but Uncle Gilbert tried to get you out of the Young Mansion and stepped right into Jonah’s trap. From that moment onward, the Youngs stepped on a path where there’s no return,” Leon proceeded to explain how he was ambushed by Harold and the Youngs. “Excuse me for being blunt, but if the Youngs don’t even care if Iris dies, do you think they will care about you? If you go to the mansion, you’ll only be delivering yourself back to Harold and he’ll kill you!” Leon summarized.
“What?!” Albert gasped and turned to Gilbert with a dark look on his face, “Gilbert, did that really happen?”
“Yeah. It’s true.” Gilbert smiled bitterly.
“How can this happen?” Albert’s expression darkened.
He wished to rely on the Youngs, but it seemed as though they were abandoned by their family. Since Daisy had control over the Youngs and the Young Group, it would be impossible for a man who lost all his power to take back control.
Out of the consideration for the gains of the family, Melvin and the others would never support him.
Albert finally saw the irony in his decision of breaking Leon and Iris apart for the greater good of the family, only to be abandoned over the same reason as well.
“Damn it! Are the Youngs destined to fall?!” Albert roared in despair.

“Grandpa, don’t worry! We might not be able to rely on the Youngs, but we have Leon on our side! I’m sure he’ll help us!” Iris said, entrusting Leon with leading them to success.
“Leon?” Albert paused in confusion.
Leon was viewed as the Youngs‘ enemy before he lost consciousness and it was extremely kind of Leon to agree to treat Albert, so Albert did not dare to ask for his help in taking back control of the family.
Iris noticed the doubt in Albert’s mind and explained, “Grandpa, Leon and I are back together.”
“What? Really?” Albert’s jaw dropped.
Ever since he realized that he wronged Leon, he regretted forcing Iris and Leon apart. Though he told Iris to beg Leon to take her back, Leon already became Cynthia’s boyfriend at the time and Iris was left with no options but to give up. Hence, he was shocked to find that Iris and Leon got back together.
“Yeah, it’s true.” Iris nodded.
“I’m so glad!” Albert instantly burst out laughing in excitement.
Not only was Leon extremely capable in the art of alchemy, but he was also a talented martial artist who was referred to as the best of his generation by the families in Springfield City; with Leon on their side, their hope in returning to the Youngs would be much higher.
However, Albert soon recalled how he wronged Leon in the past and his expression darkened at the memories of him chasing Leon out despite what Leon did for them.
“Leon, we’ve been wrong in the past. I’ve wronged you. I hope you can forgive us,” Albert sighed and apologized sincerely, without a care of his pride.
“It’s fine. It’s all in the past now,” Leon smiled.
He resented Gilbert and Albert for a time when they kicked him out. However, they were both related to Iris and out of his love for Iris, he would not hold a grudge against the two of them. All things aside, he proved himself innocent and since Albert apologized to him, Leon felt much better.
“Leon, we’re relying on you and I hope that you can lend us a hand to get us back to our home,” Albert pleaded.
For a time, they looked down on Leon because he was a powerless orphan. The tables turned and they were the ones who needed to rely on Leon..
“Yeah, I’ll try my best.” Leon nodded.
“Thank you, Leon,” Iris wrapped her arm around Leon’s and looked at him lovingly with gratitude.
She knew that Leon set aside his resentiment toward Albert and Gilbert and agreed to help for her sake and at that very moment, her love for him deepened.
“Elder Young, you just woke up and you’re still weak. Just rest for a few days.”
