"Hughes Group? That shouldn't be!" Leon was shocked when he flipped through the pages of the data report. It was clear that he never once imagined that the root of the problem would turn out to be the Hughes Group's production line!

Besides, Darius was good friends with Yuri, and because the Thompsons were the ones who helped Elegante Group establish this connection with Hughes Group in the first place, there was no reason for Darius to sabotage them at all!

Not only that, but the Hughes, like the Hiltons, was one of the most powerful families in the Southern region, and their influences were on par with each other. There was no reason to explain how Joel could have talked Darius into this!

In conclusion, there was no logical explanation as to why Darius would help Joel sabotage Elegante Group at all!

"Could this have anything to do with Gordon, Leon?" Snow said rather hesitantly when she sensed Leon's puzzlement. Gordon was her exboyfriend, and thus she was familiar with his personality. From what she remembered, he was always the one to hold grudges, and considering that Leon injured him the last time they met to protect her, she could not help wondering if Gordon did this to take revenge on Leon for this!

"Him? Well, I can't say it's impossible!" Leon was suddenly reminded of his unpleasant encounter with Gordon. Considering Gordon's influence over Hughes Group, it would not be difficult for him to pull some strings and tamper with Elegante Group's products.

Gordon certainly had the motive and the capability of pulling this off!

However, this was just his and Snow's hypothesis.

After all, Elegante Group's products would eventually trickle into the major retail outlets and department stores after going through Hughes Group's distribution, so there was no telling whether Gordon was truly the culprit behind this, or whether something else went wrong somewhere down the line.

"Never mind. I'll call Mister Hughes right now and tell him about this! We'll see what he says!" Leon finally decided. Since he did not have any concrete evidence about Gordon's involvement in this, he could not yet be certain about anything.

There was nothing he could do except notify Darius about this and let him handle it!

Knowing that Hughes Group probably had a copy of the same data records, he was certain that Darius could find a clue or two about this!

However, Gordon was the Hughes' son-in-law, and according to the connection, there was no doubt that things would turn complicated should Gordon indeed turn out to be the mastermind behind all this.

However, no matter the outcome, Leon knew it was the right thing to do to notify Darius about this!

With that, he took a photo of the data report and sent it to Darius.

Then, he called Darius on the phone and explained everything to him.

By this time, Darius already found out what happened through the various news outlets, but he never once imagined that the problem would turn out to be in Hughes Group's alley!

With that, he promised Leon up and down that he would pour everything into investigating this to come up with a solution for Elegante Group!

After having a solemn conversation, the two men hung up the phone.

Darius' expression darkened after he hung up the phone.

Immediately, he called the director of the Product Supply Department and ordered him to print out a copy of the data report and meet him in his office.

After some time, someone knocked on his door. A man in his mid-fifties pushed the door open and strode into the room.

This man was none other than the director of Hughes Group's Product Supply Department, Mister Craig.

"Mister Hughes, sir, this is the data report you wanted,’ Mister Craig muttered as he handed the documents to Darius.

Darius took the documents from him, flipped through them, then glanced at the data report that Leon sent him.

After verifying, he soon discovered that the root of the problem lay within Hughes Group's Distribution Department?

"Rats! Who could've done this?" Darius was outraged by this and immediately leaped out of his chair. He initially thought that the problem rose in some other portion of the chain of distribution and was thus unrelated to Hughes Group at all.

He never once dreamed that someone in the Distribution Department could have tampered with this!

One could only imagine his rage at this!

"Mister Craig, notify everyone in the Product Supply and Distribution Departments to gather every last data report they have and meet me in the conference room. I'm calling an emergency meeting! I'm going to leave no stone unturned!’ Darius ordered, trying to stifle his rage as best he could.

Although by now, he figured out that the problem lay in the Distribution Department, he still had no idea who was behind this, and thus he needed to investigate thoroughly!

"Yes, sir!" Mister Craig chirruped in response and left the room.

A few minutes later, all the employees of the Product Supply and Distribution Departments gathered in the conference room, including Gordon, who was the director in charge of the Distribution Department!

He just arrived at the office not long ago and barely sat down when he was summoned to an urgent meeting.

Since he was the one who tampered with the products in the first place, he obviously anticipated that Darius would call this meeting as soon as he found out. Thankfully, he prepared for this scenario beforehand and arranged for a scapegoat to take the blame, so he was not at all worried that Darius would find out it was him all along!

As Gordon anticipated, after some thorough investigation, Darius managed to narrow his suspicion down to one of the managers of the Distribution Department.

This said manager was prepared for this moment and thus took sick leave a few days ago. In the meantime, he got his hands on the hefty reward that Gordon promised him, and fled the city!

Darius almost exploded in rage when he discovered this, but knowing that there was nothing more he could do, he had no choice but to relent.

"Meeting dismissed! Everyone can leave now, save for Gordon!" Darius ordered, gesturing for everyone to return to their duties.

The crowd dissipated, and soon the only people who remained in the room were him and Gordon.

"Darius, why did you want to see me in private?" Gordon asked, trying to stay as calm as he could, but he still could not help feeling a little nervous. He wondered if Darius somehow pieced together the truth.

"What do you think? Now that everyone has left the room, I shall ask you one last time-who was the one who tampered with Elegante Group's products?" Darius asked coldly.

Although the outcome of his investigation revealed that it was the manager who did so, he could not help feeling a little suspicious, especially after realizing how seamlessly this man pulled off the whole thing and escaped before anyone noticed!

Darius was not an idiot—it was clear to him that things were not as simple as they appeared to be!

"Um, Darius, didn't we already establish that the manager was the culprit behind all this?" Gordon replied rather sheepishly.

"Don't try to fool me! I want to know the truth! Tell me, honestly, if you were the one behind this, or were you even involved in this at all, even just a little?’ Darius fixated his steely gaze on Gordon's face, his stare so intense that Gordon could not help shuddering.

Darius knew full well that as the director of the department, Gordon was the only one who possessed full authority, and that there was no way a manager could have pulled off such an impressive feat by tampering with all of Elegante Group's products without anyone noticing!

Even if he did so, there was no way he would be able to escape Gordon's hawklike eyes!

Darius was certain that Gordon was at least involved in this somehow and likely received some advantage out of this!

All in all, there was no way that Gordon was not responsible for any of this!

"It wasn't me!" Gordon protested as calmly as he could. There was no way he could admit the truth to Darius!

"Alright then! I can't believe how stupid you are to continue clinging to your lies even at a time like this!" Darius snickered. He deliberately dismissed everyone instead of confronting him in front of his employees to save Gordon's face.

After all, Gordon was his brother-in-law, and he was hoping that by giving Gordon a chance, he would come clean with the truth!

Even if Gordon was the culprit behind all this, he would still find a way to go easy on Gordon's punishment, considering that they were relatives by marriage!

However, Gordon still refused to admit it, and as angry as he was, he could not help feeling disappointed in him!

"I’m telling the truth, Darius! This had nothing to do with me at all. Please trust me. I'm innocent," Gordon tried to continue lying his way out of this.

"Shut up! Do you think I'm a three-year-old child?’ Darius erupted when he heard this, and with a swipe of his arm, a surge of powerful energy barreled straight toward Gordon!

"Thud!"

Gordon did not see this coming at all and could not dodge in time. His entire body was thrown backward against the conference table, letting out a deafening slam as he crumpled onto the ground.

Thankfully, Darius was just trying to let out his anger and did not mean to hurt Gordon at all.

Therefore, apart from looking a little silly from being knocked over like this, Gordon was otherwise unscathed.

"Darius, I've already told you this has nothing to do with me! Besides, you've already concluded that the manager was behind this, so why are you insisting on letting me take the blame for sabotaging a small company like Elegante Group? Don't you think you've crossed the line here?" Gordon snapped rather indignantly as he picked himself up from the ground.

"You-" Darius' expression was dark as he tried his best to control his temper.

As angry as he was, there was nothing more he could do if Gordon continued to deny his involvement.

"Never mind, let's put this behind us for now! From tomorrow onwards, I want you to work in the Logistics Department. Mister Craig will take over your work here for now!" Darius declared after forcing himself to take a few deep breaths to calm down.

"What?’ Gordon could not believe his ears. He thought that after finding a scapegoat to take the blame, he would be able to evade all responsibility, and he never once thought that Darius would refuse to believe him and even punish him by transferring him to another department. This was equivalent to demoting him!

One could imagine Gordon's rage at this!

"I'm warning you, Gordon, this is the last straw! This won't be the last you hear from me, should you dare to stir up any more trouble!" Darius scoffed, then turned and stormed out of the room in a huff.

"Rats!" Gordon's expression was dark as he watched Darius’ retreating figure. A glimmer of malice flashed through his eyes.

He could not understand why, despite being his brother-in-law, Darius was so untrusting of him and would rather believe in an outsider over him!

Not only that, but he even dared to utilize his authority and demote him as a punishment!

Gordon could not help growing even more resentful of Darius at the thought of this.

However, unbeknownst to him, Darius already discovered his involvement in this and was just trying to lure him into admitting his mistake. If he did so, he would gladly have given Gordon a second chance!

However, not only did Gordon not express any remorse, he even continued to lie and deny the truth!

This was what infuriated Darius the most.

Unfortunately, selfish people like Gordon could never understand Darius' generosity.

As soon as he returned to his office, Darius picked up his phone and dialed Leon's number.

"President Wolf, I've already investigated this, and the problem rose in our Distribution Department," he explained everything to Leon with an apologetic look.

As for Gordon's involvement in this, he decided to withhold this information from Leon.

Gordon was still his brother-in-law, after all, and even if he was the culprit behind all this, he could never hand Gordon over to be punished by Leon, not to mention the fact that Gordon was yet to admit his involvement in all this!

In conclusion, Darius was inclined to keep things on the down low and take care of them in a civilized manner.

"Um," Leon was silent after hearing this. He already began to suspect that Gordon was the mastermind behind this, but unfortunately, he did not have proof of this.

Since Darius already got to the bottom of this and discovered that one of the managers of the Distribution Department was the culprit, there was nothing he could do apart from accepting it.

After all, he could not possibly demand that Darius continue investigating when he already gave him an answer!

This would not be a fair request for either him or the Hughes!

"I apologize for this inconvenience, President Wolf. I understand that our mistake has cost Elegante Group a significant financial loss. I have a suggestion; in the future, Hughes Group is willing to return five percent of the profits on all of Elegante Group's sales from now on, as compensation for your loss," Darius was earnest when he said this.

After all, there was not much profit to be gained from the distribution of these products, and he was willing to make this small sacrifice in return for leaving this all in the past.

"No need! Let's just settle this right here and right now! Mister Hughes, all I hope is that you will take this as a lesson and tighten your quality assurance process to avoid this happening a second time!" Leon replied solemnly.

Joel was the mastermind behind all this, and now that Yuri already we t to give him a piece of his mind, there was no point continuing to pursue Gordon's involvement in this anymore!

Besides, Darius was always close to Yuri, and considering how sincere Darius appeared to be, Leon was inclined to forgive and forget!

"Thank you for your understanding. Mister Wolf! Don't worry, I guarantee that none of this will happen ever again! As for my compensation, this is just a symbol of my sincerity and a means of compensation for the losses Elegante Group has suffered. I do hope that you will consider taking me up on my offer!" Darius insisted.

"Well, alright then, if you insist.’ After some consideration, Leon finally decided to relent. After all, this debacle indeed cost Elegante Group a significant loss, and even almost cost them their reputation!

Therefore, it made sense that Darius would want to offer a token of compensation, and he might as well take Darius up on his offer.

"Yes, so that's settled then!" Darius let out a small sigh of relief.

He understood that Leon's willingness to accept Hughes Group's compensation signified his intention to forgive them, and he could not help feeling relieved at this.

With that, the two of them hung up the phone.

Hiltons Corporation.

After getting his hands on Elegante Group's trade secret, Joel returned immediately to the office and handed the documents over to the employees at the Research and Development Department to start producing imitates of Elegante Group's products.

Hiltons Corporation was the largest business in the Southern region's cosmeceutical industry and possessed a top-notch Research and Development team. After getting their hands on Elegante Group's trade secret, he was certain that it would not take long for them to successfully manufacture Elegante Group's products fortheir own!

With that, the employees of the Research and Development Department then got down to work under Joel's careful supervision.

Finally, after two hours of testing and enhancing, they soon successfully created exact replicas of Elegante Group's products!

"Mister Hiltons, we are pleased to announce that the development process was a great success. We've managed to develop and produce exact replicas of sixteen of Elegante Group's products,’ the director of the Research and Development team, Mister Shaw, declared, grinning from ear to ear as he placed the products on Joel's desk.

"Splendid, splendid! I never expected the process to be so smooth! God must be blessing us!” Joel erupted into a burst of hearty laughter. He initially thought that Elegante Group's trade secrets would surely be complicated to decipher and would take them some time to imitate. He never once dreamed that it would only take a couple of hours for his men to crack the formula and successfully produce exact replicas of Elegante Group's products!

This was going far smoother than he initially anticipated.

Unbeknownst to him, Leon was not at all adept at formulating cosmeceutical products, and because of this, he developed products that were simple without any added secrets or tactics to prevent his recipes from getting stolen!

Whereas on the other hand, the members of Hiltons Corporation's Research and Development team were experts in this field, and thus it did not take them much effort to successfully crack their code!

"Mister Shaw, get someone to bring the testing equipment over to test out the products. I'd like to see if the effects are indeed identical to those that Elegante Group has manufactured!" Joel instructed with an excited look on his face.

"Yes, sir!’ Mister Shaw chirruped in response. Then, he gestured for a few members of his team to bring over the testing equipment and started running some tests on their newly developed products.

"You just wait, Leon Wolf! Now that we've successfully replicated your products, it won't be long before we take you down!" Joel sneered, a glint of malice flashing through his eyes.

Although Leon successfully saved Elegante Group's reputation and even managed to bring them to even bigger fame during the process, Elegante Group was still a new company with a weak foundation in the Southern region. Therefore, it would be as easy as ABC for Hiltons Corporation to defeat them, so long as they manage to manufacture exact replicas of their products, down to their effectiveness.

When that happened, they would be able to reap the benefits of Elegante Group's success!

One could only imagine Joel's delight at the idea of this, but unfortunately, his happiness did not last long. What happened next shocked him to his core!

"Buzz-"

The report of the first product soon came out.

Mister Shaw could not help frowning when he glanced at the report.

"How are the results of the test, Mister Shaw? Is it significantly better than our original products?" Joel quickly asked.

"Yes, sir, the new products are indeed better than our own, but," Mister Shaw began. However, before he could even finish his sentence, he was cut off by Joel.

"Hahaha- I knew it! Leon Wolf, I can't believe how big of a moron you were to allow people into your company and look at your trade secrets willy-nilly! What an idiot! Now that I've successfully replicated your products, well see what you can do about that!" Joel could not hold in his joy any longer and could not help bursting into laughter at this.

"Um, Mister Hiltons, although the replicas are indeed a little better than our original products, the difference isn't that much at all," Mister Shaw continued after a moment's hesitation.

This came as a shock to Joel; he immediately snapped back to reality.1 Not much of a difference? What does that mean?" he asked rather dubiously.

"Well, according to the results, there are indeed some ingredients of Elegante Group's that are about two or three percent superior to those of Hiltons Corporation's, but there are also some ingredients of ours that are significantly better than theirs. In conclusion, both companies' products are somewhat on par with each other and do not have much of a quality difference at all." Mister Shaw explained.

"What?" Joel could not believe his ears. "This isn't possible! Elegante Group's products have been known to be far superior to ours, by more than five times! How can it be possible that our products don't have much difference from theirs?" Joel's expression darkened at this.

Since the consumer rights department already revealed the results of their evaluation of Elegante Group's products to the public, he was certain that all 16 of Elegante Group's products were far superior in efficiency as compared to Hiltons Corporation's, by a significant margin!

However, now that he successfully replicated their products, he could not believe that the replicas would turn out to be on par with Hiltons Corporation's, which was a far cry from Elegante Group's usual quality!

This was something that he never anticipated would happen!

"Mister Shaw, could there possibly be a mistake in the results? Please test it again! Test out the remaining fifteen products as well, and don't be afraid to go as detailed as you can!" Joel was unwilling to believe this.

"Yes, sir." Mister Shaw gladly obliged. Then, he and the rest of the team proceeded to conduct a second test and analyze the remainder of the products as well.

After a long time, the results came out, and were unequivocal-his initial hypothesis was true!

The ingredients and efficacy of the 16 replicas were nothing at all similar to Elegante Group's real products, and the difference was as stark as day and night!

"How can this be?" Joel widened his eyes in shock, scrutinizing the report. He felt as though his entire body was struck by lightning.

He could not understand how this was possible, considering Hiltons Corporation created 100% replicas of Elegante Group's products!

How was it possible that the replicas would turn out so differently from the real deal? This should not have happened!

“What’s going on, Mister Shaw? Did you guys somehow leave out an important process or additive?” Joel’s expression was dark. Now that the results proved Mister Shaw’s initial hypothesis to be right, the only explanation he could think of was that the research and Development team forgot something crucial!

There was no other possibility to explain this!

“Well, no! That’s impossible! We double and triple–checked everything during the the manufacturing process, and I can guarantee that nothing was left out!” Mister Shaw shook his head. On second thought, he recalled something and added, “However, one of the ingredients is purified water, and there’s a possibility that this might be the crucial mistake.”

With that, Mister Shaw brought over the documents, pointed at one of the formulation processes, and began to briefly explain it to Joel.

During the formulation of their products, Elegante Group added some purified water into the mixture, at first glance, did not appear to be any different from the purified water Hiltons Corporation used!

Even after some detailed investigation, Mister Shaw and the rest of the team agreed unanimously that the purified water was, in fact, just ordinary water!

However, now, on second thought, they could have been wrong!

“Are you saying that the key ingredient lies within the purified water used?” Joel was beginning to understand what Mister Shaw was trying to say.

“Yes, exactly! If our guesses are correct, Elegante Group must’ve added some special nutrients into their purified water. This is probably Elegante Group’s most important secret that changes everything,” Mister Shaw declared. As the director of the entire Research and Development Department, he had plenty of experience in this and had the best judgment!

By now, he could tell that there was nothing extraordinary about the rest of Elegante Group’s manufacturing process. The only thing they could have changed was the type of purified water used!

With over two decades of experience in this field, Mister Shaw was certain that this was none other than the crucial ingredient in Elegante Group’s products!

He was right; this was not ordinary purified water at all, but spirit dew derived from herbs that he had concentrated within the Energy Convergence Circle!

This was the secret recipe to Elegante Group’s products, and there was no way anyone would be able to replicate it even if they were capable of doing so!

“What? I can’t believe it. That bastard tricked us!” Joel was outraged to hear this. He slammed his palm against the tabletop. With a loud creak, the table wobbled on its legs and collapsed in a heap.

With that, the remainder of the newly developed replicas toppled onto the ground, smashing into smithereens!

He thought he successfully stole Elegante Group’s trade secrets and that it would be no time before Hiltons Corporation managed to replicate their success!

However, it turned out that fate played a cruel trick on him!

It was until this moment that he realized that the real secret of Elegante Group’s products was nothing more than the purified water used!

As long as Leon continued to protect this secret recipe as though his life depended on it, no one would be able to get his hands on his trade secret!

It was no wonder Leon allowed everyone to visit his office freely! It turned out that Leon prepared for this all along!

The irony was, Joel was so dumb as to believe that he outsmarted Leon. It turned out that he was the moron instead!

One could only imagine his shock and rage at the realization of this!

“What should we do now, Mister Hiltons? Although these replicas are a tad superior compared to our

original products, the difference isn’t that significant at all, and I’m afraid this won’t be much use to us,” Mister Shaw asked.

Since Elegante Group and Hiltons Corporation targeted different audiences, if Hilton Corporations were to mass produce these replicas, they would have to spend a significant amount of money in enhancing and upgrading their production lines!

This would no doubt come at a great price and would not pay off well for Hiltons Corporation at all!

“Yes, I know that! Let’s not talk about this for now. we’ll discuss this again when I get my hands on the secret recipe for Elegante Group’s purified water! When I finally do so, Elegante Group won’t even know what’s coming!” Joel declared maliciously.

Now that he already got his hands on most of Elegante Group’s trade secrets and was only missing the crucial component, he would not be willing to call it quits just like that!

He already made up his mind that no matter what, he had to get his hands on the crucial recipe!

He was not concerned as to whether Leon would be willing to hand it over or not. Although Leon was lucky enough to have some connections to the Thompsons, he was still a useless nobody from Springfield City, and he did not think the Thompsons would be willing to protect him when faced with the Hiltons!

This was not possible at all unless the Thompsons went out of their minds!

However, before he could even finish this thought, what happened next shocked him even more!

Frantic footsteps rang out as one of his security guards stormed into the room, looking alarmed. “Mister Hiltons, something terrible has happened. Mister Yuri Thompson has shown up unannounced and demands to see you,” he said nervously.

“What? Yuri Thompson? What’s he doing here anyway?” Joel was shocked to hear this. Then, the next

second, another thought popped into his mind. Could Yuri Thompson possibly be here on behalf of Leon and Elegante Group?

“Um, I don’t know, sir, but he appears livid. He demands you to see him right away, or else,” the security guard replied timidly.

“Right away? How dare he act this way?” Joel was infuriated by this and grew even more certain that Yuri came all the way here to get revenge for Leon!

However, this was not the point. The point was, he could not believe that the Thompsons were willing to cross the Hiltons over a minor character like Leon!

Just a minute ago, he was certain that the Thompsons would not dare to cross him on behalf of Leon, but now, Yuri’s sudden appearance proved him wrong!

He could not understand why the Thompsons were willing to do so. Have they gone insane?

“Where’s he now?” Joel took in a deep breath and regained his calmness.

“Sir, he’s waiting for you in the lobby right now,” the guard replied truthfully.

“Alright. I’ll go meet him right now!” Joel scoffed. Then, he turned and strode out of the room in a huff.

Although Yuri was the young master of the Thompsons and one of the best warriors of their generation, Joel was no less than him. He was the heir of the Hiltons, after all!

Besides, this was their territory, and he had nothing to be afraid of!

In the lobby, Yuri stood tall and proud, with his spine straight and his hands behind his back. Behind him were a few of the Thompsons‘ best warriors and an old man dressed in green.

This old man was one of the Thompsons‘ strongest fighters, a member of the Almighty Warriors!

Knowing that the Hiltons were one of the most powerful influences in the Southern region, Yuri did not dare to show up at their territory without backup.

Therefore, he specially made a detour back home to pick up this Almighty Warrior, which was why he took so long to arrive at Hiltons Corporation’s office.

All of a sudden, frantic footsteps rang out as Joel, followed by two of his guards, stormed into the lobby and came face–to–face with Yuri.

“To what do I owe this pleasure, Mister Thompson?” Joel asked calmly. Although he already knew what Yuri was here for, he did not dare to reveal anything further about his involvement in this.

“What do you think? Joel, let’s cut to the chase–I’m here on behalf of Elegante Group! You bullied Elegante Group time and time again, and this is unacceptable! I demand an apology for this!” Yuri snapped. Although he already decided he would give Joel a piece of his mind, he still did not want to come off too strong, considering the Hiltons were still one of the major forces in the region.

“I have no idea what you’re talking about! I’ve heard of what happened to Elegante Group–their products were found to be subpar in quality, and it’s all due to their laxity in quality assurance. What does that have to do with us?” Joel scoffed. There was no way he would willingly admit that he orchestrated this whole thing!

“What’s wrong? Are you too much of a coward to own up to your wrongdoings? Joel, I’ve encountered plenty of shameless people in my life, but never to your extent!” Yuri sneered, then turned to the guards standing behind him and ordered, “Bring those two over and give them back to Joel!”

“Yes, sir!” the guards obliged and brought the two hostages–the effeminate reporter and the horse–faced man–forward, tossing them onto the ground in front of Joel.

“Thud-“The two men crumpled onto the ground in a heap, staring ashen–faced at Joel, unsure of what to do.

“Joel, I have evidence of your wrongdoing and witnesses too! What else do you have to say for yourself?”

Yuri sneered.

“I,” The color drained from Joel’s face. He intended to lie his way out of this and get Yuri to leave somehow, but Yuri had concrete evidence of his involvement! The horse–faced man worked for the Hiltons, and there. was no way he could deny anything anymore!

“Let’s not talk about whether I orchestrated this or not, Mister Thompson, but this is a personal vengeance between Leon and me. What does this have to do with you Thompsons?” Joel demanded. After all, the Hiltons were not an enemy that anyone would like to make, and he refused to believe that Yuri would be willing to cross them over a nobody like Leon!

“Thud!”

With a deafening slam, Joel was propelled backward from the impact of Yuri’s fist and landed on the ground. in a crumpled heap.

Thankfully, he was already at the Semi Emperor State, and since he managed to dodge Yuri’s attack in time, he did not suffer many injuries at all. Despite that, however, he still felt something rise in his chest, and his mouth was tinged with a metallic taste, but he swallowed it back!

“Take this!” Yuri let out another grunt as he stepped forward, unleashing another surge of energy straight

toward Joel!

“Oh no!” An expression of horror crossed Joel’s face. He was already weakened from Yuri’s initial attack, and as much as he wanted to dodge this second one, he knew there was no way he could pull it off.

There was nothing he could do except watch in despair as Yuri’s attack surged straight toward him.

“Master, we’ll help fend him off! Run while you can!” with lightning–quick reflexes, his two guards stepped forward and retaliated, sending powerful bursts of energy in Yuri’s direction in hopes that Yuri would give up trying to attack Joel.

“Get out of my way!” Yuri bellowed as his aura rose above him, pausing momentarily before hurling another ball of energy toward them!

These two men were just members of Joel’s security team and not master warriors at all, so there was no way they would be able to match up against Yuri, who was already at the Intermediate Emperor State!

Unsurprisingly, the two men could not fend themselves against Yuri at all, and were thrown backward by his powerful energy!

However, their efforts were in vain–they successfully managed to stall some precious seconds for Joel’s escape!

Joel seized the opportunity to leap out of Yuri’s way, sprinting straight toward the inside of the building to call for help!

“Trying to escape? Not so fast!” Yuri sneered. Then, he regrouped his energy into a fist and sent it hurling straight toward Joel’s back!

“I’m warning you, Yuri, if you so much as touch a hair on my head, the Hiltons will come for you,” Joel shouted in terror when he sensed Yuri’s attack coming straight toward him.

However, something changed at the last possible moment!

“Who dares stir up trouble on my territory?” all of a sudden, someone bellowed from behind them.

Three silhouettes darted out from the darkness, and when they caught sight of the scene that was unfolding, the middle–aged man in the lead immediately unleashed a surge of energy toward Yuri without a moment’s hesitation!

“Tsk, just a Semi Almighty Warrior! How dare you show yourself here?” the old man in green that stood behind Yuri all this while suddenly exclaimed, a glimmer of malice flashing through his eyes.

Then, with a swipe of his hand, he sent a powerful burst of energy in retaliation toward the direction of their opponents!

“An Almighty Warrior!” the middle–aged man was horrified by this. He immediately darted backward, giving up on his plan to save Joel altogether, and tried to dodge the green–clothed man’s attack as quickly as he could, but it was too late!

Fortunately, his two companions were quick to react and managed to unleash two surges of energy toward the green–clothed man. Together, the three of them managed to overcome his attack just in time!
